Hiya,
Re the nails thing - a good piece of advice given to me by my MCHN with Eliza was never to use clippers as you can't tell if you have finger in them on te bottom blade. She told me to always use baby safety nail scissors. I got Tommee Tippee ones. It was good advice I have never cut either of the girls 'cos with scissors you can see both blades and what you are cutting. Hope that makes sense?
Amara is also feeding faster, maybe 10 mins?
Must run,
-
Awww, Thanks Peta. Yeah I really do know Im doing the right thing, just gonna miss him so much.....
I cant remember what else I was gonna say, Im a bit tired, both babies are sleeping so I might go have a nap.
I will be back later to do more personals when my mind is working properly...
-
I have Tommee Tippee clippers and still managed to cut K's thumb once... but haven't done it since!
Trish - please don't think I am bored or don't like the chitter chatter - I just find it hard to keep up sometimes... but yes it is good to hear how everyone is going and that they are going through the same as us etc.
-
Trish - Tell you to shut up??? NEVER It is so amusing to hear other mum's stories and to know that they, like me, dont have the faintest clue sometimes - very reassuring I can tell you! Plus Ithink I come in here a lot and chat away! Sometimes I have more to say than other times! Its nice to have others to talk to!
Saffi- You want to talk about dull??? I havent left the house since Friday afternoon when I collected Caitlyn from daycare! There is literally no where to go...everything shuts at 12 on Saturday (except woolworths!) There is no one that I would even go and visit - although I contemplated going to visit DH at work on Saturday - but by the time I had changed C - he was home!
I have really had a disappointing weekend. I was hoping (as was my mum) that my parents would come out this weekend! Mum took an extra day off work JIC dad wanted to come out. But he didnt want to drive all this way. So they didnt come visit.
But my sister is moving back to Townsville from Brisbane and so she will be able to visit more regularly. She doesnt mind sitting in the bus for 10 hours and will make sure she gets some 3 and 4 day weekends! Isnt that great?! I am excited - will give me someone to talk to!
Anyway - time for feed! MWAH
-
i will start to post now and update when i finish reading otherwise i forget what i was going to write!
Julie- Yep MEN. today we went down to a lovely park about an hrs drive away, my sister and her fam come and we met another couple with there 2yr DD. all of us mums seemed to be the ones running around after the kids while then MEN sat back, relaxed and had a beer and a chat.
There was a bit play area with swings etc but being a pub hol so many kids you could loose sight of your own within a flash.
We have had a big few days. Aust Day arvo we went to a big fesitval not far from our place. they had rides for the kids, fireworks and music. The Angels played as well as a blues brothers show both were really good.
The yesterday we went to a 1st birthday party. Nixon was the eldest child and Tyron the youngest. dh was working so was on my own, ofcourse friends helped but i was still go go go the entire time.
then today we left the house at 9am and just got home at 3pm.
Trish- Im sure Kieren wont hole a grudge lol! ive done that before i know how terrible you feel. it sounds like most of us have done the same thing! I usually bite Tyrons off also but i cut Nixon's.
Leah- is it you with the Phil & Ted? Im enjoying much more in the last few outings ive set it up as 2 toddlers. Tyron is much happier, when it was toddler & baby he cannot see anything this way he likes looking around and is pretty comfy! I have a few issues with it though, the brake is extremley hard to get on and off and there isnt much room for storage with 2 children! bit its nice and ligth and so easy to steer.
ok finished page 3 onto page 4 lol
-
Heya girls.
Trish - I had a sinus infection when I was prg and OMG, it was the WORST! I was in that much pain because my head was all blocked up I couldn't sleep for 3 nights. Was awful. Hope the antib's are kicking in. Bugger about K missing his morning nap, L missed his middle of the day sleep today because we were out so he only dozed on and off in the car. He's asleep now though, 2hrs 45 mins and counting! He does have pretty cool hair! Everywhere I take him people comment on it. When he gets out of the bath the curl is really tight, I hope it stays that way. Re b/feeding - L usually only takes about 5-10 mins and then he's done. I think K is doing fine, I wouldn't worry about it. The older they get, the faster and more efficient they get.
Kim - awww, thanks matey! I preferred the pic that they printed in the paper, you can see L a lot better, but I was pretty happy with them overall.
Saffi - WTG on getting L to sleep thru! Must admit though that all that expressing sounds like hard work?
Nickers - sounds like you had a big weekend! We took the kids down to the river today for some lunch and a play but it was soooo hot we had to come home after about an hour. Speaking of men - when we got there, DH ran into some of his mates who'd been down their fishing, so 40 mins later they go and we finally get our 'family' time that DH had planned
Wrapping - I'm planning on wrapping DS till winter, he'll be about 5 months by then so should be ready to stop being wrapped (I like to wrap my bubs till about then, I find they sleep better if their arms aren't flapping around!) and then we'll switch to a grobag or something similar. My SIL brought him one but it looks huge so not sure if he'll be big enough for it then (supposed to be 6-18 months). That said, he has grown out of most of his wraps and gets his arms out in about a minute flat, so I had my mum make me some which are 1.5m and they are much better. He can still get his arms out, but not as easily.
L has been really fussy while feeding the last few days. It started out with him wanting to 'chat' instead of feed but then it was like he wasn't interested at all! He has fed well today though so I hope it was just a passing phase. Nothing more stressful than a baby who won't feed (except maybe for one who won't sleep?? LOL)
-
Wrapping- he's been a kicker since before he was born he hated being wrapped loves freedom and cries if he cant eat him hands or kick his legs so, well it's less work hehe
Left lil monkey on our bed today after our family trip to the park, he managed to do a big u-turn on the bed over to DP's belt he left on the bed and I came in and there was a drool patch nearly as big as Ryan as he munched lol DP now has his belt airing on the veranda, SOAKED lmao
Just thought I'd type a quick one Ryan hasn't slept since 1pm! He doesn't even look tired, not yawning and is so happy to be with mum and dad guess this means he'll sleep well tonight *fingers crossed* going to go cuddle him under the air con bbl :)
-
just a quick one, cause Tahlia is about to wake up, but for those of you who are saying bubs is growing out of wraps, I just bought some muslin wraps on ebay that were 1.4 * 1.4m, so hopefully that size will keep Tahlia wrapped up! The biggest ones I've seen in the stores are only 1m * 1m
-
Yeah have been thinking that Im going to have to buy some bigger wraps....little C is now over 6 kg so the ones that I have just arent cutting it!
DH and I were having a nice looong weekend together with C and at 430 the dogs start barking.....DH's boss is at the front gate. There are some spots in our house where there is just no mobile coverage and he had been trying to ring...off to Julia Creek for DH - will be back around 9 tonight! And hes not even on call today! The guy who is on call is drunk! Not impressed! Pity DH gets paid flat rate - no PH pay!
-
My doula recommended making your own to fit whatever size you wanted just get a piece of cheesecloth sort of material cut then you just have to fold over the sides and give it a quick stitch or if you dont mind a little bit of fraying I'm sure it will work long enough to cater to bubs wrapping needs :)
Ryan went to sleep at 6.30 without a tantrum! Just lay there and watched his little musical star and fell asleep I worked out he only slept 3 hours total if that since he woke up at 7.
Nickers-wow what a busy time you've had how were the boys? Are they all tuckered out? How are you sleep deprived wise? :)
-
Hi everyone,
Nic - I have a Kiwi Explorer P&T buggy. So a bit older than yours. My brake is easy to put on and off. Does yours press down on the tyre? I didn't have it set up as a newborn 'cos I only got it last week. I have put a sheepskin in the rear sling and Amara is happy as. If you are wanting storage you can buy side saddles or panniers for the P&T. They are bags that hang on the sides like little backpacks. You could use one for your phone, keys, purse, glasses and bits etc and the other would hold prolly milk and bread or some veges & fruit. I am actually thinking of making my own as I have a snap press.
I also hear you about the men thing sheesh!
Re the fingernail thing - I have Tommee Tippee safety scissors not clippers if that helps? :D
Took the girls to a local wildlife park today and then Maccas for lunch - a huge treat for DD1. She had a good day. Preschool starts back this week. I am expecting the crying and carry on again as she has had 6 weeks off. DH is also back to work tomorrow, I think he is stressing.
Must go - I am trying to knit Amara some longies for winter and my knitting is not what it could be LOL!
Hugs,
-
:happybirthday: Rebecca...i hope you have a great day with Caitlyn :happybirthday:
-
Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't been here for a while. It has been so busy at our place and Ethan being the catnapper that he is only gives me very short amounts of time to do anything!!!!!
We are doing well. Ethan has now slept from his late night feed till 6am 4 times. Yey!!!!
I am getting a bit sad coz he is getting so big. He started to roll from his tummy to his back the other day and is making so many new noises. He is feeding better but still not as much as he should. I am not worried because for the last 2 weeks he has put on 300g a week!!! I hope he doesn't get over weight. That is what worries me about formula.
In regards to wrapping, I found that Ethan grew out of his wraps about a month ago. He still needs wrapping as his legs and arms bother him. He also tries to stick his hands in his mouth while his dummy is there and knocks the dummy out which causes more upsets. I found the best thing to do was go to spotlght and buy some really thin cotton and muslin fabrick which is as long as you can find (112cm or 145cm is good). I bought 1.5 metres of fabric and just sewed a seam around the edge. This is working really well as Ethan's legs and tightly wrapped too. Also I could find lots of cute patterns on the fabric!
Better go and put little one to bed. Take care everyone and have a great day.
-
Morning everyone!
Rebecca - :happybirthday: Wishing you a very happy birthday today!!! I hope you have a lovely day and get lots of great pressies!!
Alz - Good to hear from you! That's awesome Ethan is sleeping so well for you!
Leah - I will have to look out for those nail scissors, thanks for the tip!
Kellie - I bought a really big wrap from eBay too, it works really well.
Kieran slept from 9:30pm until 4:30am, I fed him, put him back to bed, but he decided to stay awake. Aghhhh... By 6am I was over it so I put him in bed with us and we went back to sleep. I'm getting a bit tired of these early morning shenanigans! I have no idea why he wants to stay awake now when he used to be so good.
I stopped taking the antibiotics last night. Kieran has been so unsettled and having terrible day sleeps and I'm wondering if the AB's are affecting him. I will give it a day or two to see if it helps by not taking them. He seems to be in pain though, when he is on the floor he arches his back a lot and twists to one side. I'm going to ring the chiro today and book him in again methinks.
Have a great day everyone! :)
-
Trish - if you have been on AB's maybe some acidofilus (sp?) might help you? The Inner Health Plus have tablets ones but I have found the powdered much better, you keep it in the fridge. Just check it is OK with BF but I think it would be.
Re the wraps thing I also had to make my own and I have been using a cotton cot sheet lately - perfect size :D
Must run,
-
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes......I got three presents very early this morning.....my cat had her kittens!! Yay! Not better than last years present.....Caitlyn was conceived! Although i didnt know for a few weeks of course!
Anyway - have a great day all am off to gawk at the cute kittens!
-
Happy birthday Rebecca. Hope DH and Caitlyn spoil you.
Trish - I take a yakult every second day. It might help with gut health etc.
Think I'll ask MIL to make up some wraps for me. I like the idea of using a cot sheet. I have heaps of those that are waiting to be used.
L did 11pm to 4am overnight. Tried to settle without doing a feed, but the little tyke must have been hungry. Anyway, back to bed just before 5 and we slept to 7. At least it wasn't up at 2am and then 4 like it has been.
Busy day today. Got a termite inspection this morning and then in the afternoon some realestate people coming over to appraise the house. Better go and get my day started.
-
I have to say....and I dont mean to be bragging so sorry if it sounds like it!....I did think that Caitlyn was a terrible sleeper at night. But after reading some posts I realise that I must be pretty lucky! she normally sleeps from around 6 pm until anywhere from 130 to 3 am. And I dont wake her at 10 like I was planning to for a feed. She has a bath at 530, then a feed, then bed. Last night she went down at 610 and didnt wake up until 245 this morning when I think I woke her cause I was watching the kittens. So sorry if that sounded like a brag....just thinking how lucky i must be!
-
happy birthday Rebecca!! awww kittens u will have to put some pics in the gallery! cant say im too fond of cats but kittens\are V cute!
Leah- i actually have 2 of those bags, used them aot over our outings just gone! but i dont like that they dont acually have straps on them to throw over your shoulder if u want! and if u have a bag strapped each side fine for park etc but at the shops it turns a narrow pram into a wide pram! i cannot fit my kapoochi bag over the rail bit cause it woul sit on Tyrons head so use one of them for the kids stuff but there is no compartment sections on them and always up ending the bag to get what i need. i am just being over critical but these sort of things you cannot know b4 u start using them every day.
i do love the P & T pram but for the money ive spent on it (over $1000 on all the different aparatuses) i really think my old pram (about $400)was much more practical only that i couldnt attach a toddler seat to it.
Nixon handled 3 big days in a row really well. Tyron did my head in on Sunday from 12.30pm till 10.30pm that night he had a total 1hr sleep (2x 30min naps) he wasnt grumpy the whole time but by the end of it i just wanted him t GO TO SLEEP! yeah i was pretty nakkered by it all also.
Willow- which paper were u in? ive seen the article on the web and u guys look great! you have to come to one of our meets in Parramatta. Your Claire is away atm and was the main organiser, ursula & KateP also go. i was going to c if u guys wanted to start meeting at diff spots? the 2 times i have been to the cafe Nixon has cracked it. he does not want to sit in the pram while i have a chit chat! i was embarrassed last time & appologised to the staff he was so loud. (got ty going aswell gee what a great mum!) i was thinking like a play centre so older ones can run around? or even our houses? id happily have everyone over here, let me know what u all think
-
Happy birthday Rebecca, how cute kittens. Would love to see some pics as-well.
Maddi also sleeps pretty well, she'll go down at 8:30-9:30pm then wake at 7-8am.
Must be because she's FF.
-
Jasmine has her last feed about 9pm and wakes around 7-730am.
Only last night...last feed at 10pm, woke at 430am, then woke at 8am!
I need some bigger wraps. Jas MUST be wrapped....where as Chelsea hated being wrapped..
-
Happy Birthday Rebecca! Hope you have a great day
I've got a great night sleeper too - Tahlia goes down about 10 and wakes about 8.30... if formula makes them sleep longer, imagine what I'd get from formula!
-
Kellie you would be one lucky mum lol, Maddi never slept more than 3 hours while i was b/fing.
That may have been because she was young & need alot of feeds tho.
-
Nixon was BF and still did similar hours to that so i think its just the individual baby and how they sleep. Nixon still loves his sleep and sometimes amazes me how long he can sleep in for or go down for during the day, Seings Ty has been sleeping well o/n i hope his patterns stay for when he is older too!
-
Well everyone I am at work now and have nothing to do....AGAIN!! I have been chasing people for money and the novelty has worn off....with interest rates being so high etc I feel like a piece of carp telling people that they have 7 days to pay! Being such a small town too people know me....I'm just doing my job... :(
Other than that I am having a good day. The girls (and guy) at work bought me a cake (and here I am trying to lose weight!) and made me a cuppa. I have managed (in 43 degree heat!) to get a cold and am feeling a little yucky after such a rough night with the kittens. I have posted a pic in the gallery if you wanted to look. It was taken on my mobile phone though so I dont know how good it is! I have only managed to take one so far - will take a few more when I finish work this afternoon.
I am thinking that I want to buy a sewing machine. I would be able to make a few wraps and the curtains that I have been waiting for my mum to make for me... only 2 months now!! Ha ha ha
Anyway - will go and have a bit of cake and a bit of my coffee....mwah
-
Awww that was sweet of yout co-workers & what a cute pic of the kittens.
Hope you feel better soon :)
-
Nic - it was in the Sunday Telegraph on Sunday, page 7 (shared the page with Ange & Brad ;)). Would be interested in meeting up with some other mums, would depend where and on what day though as DD is in preschool 2 days starting this week and I need to be nearby for drop offs, pick ups on those days. Are you over Liverpool way? I don't know where C/Norton is!! LOL.
Trish - sorry to hear K has been a bit unsettled. Hopefully the antib's make a difference but I hope you still get better if you stop taking them! He's a good bub, I'm sure he'll settle down again.
Rebecca - happy bday! Hope you have a great day, was nice of your cat to give you such a lovely bday present! I know what you mean about thinking you had a bad sleeper - I thought DS was a shocker during the day but reading posts here and in my Nov thread, I realised he's actually not bad at all! He still feeds at 10pm, 1am and then again at about 4/5/6am but it doesn't really worry me at this stage. I'm not feeling any huge desire for him to sleep through for a few months yet. He is a very quick feeder and settles back to sleep straight away so we're only up for about 10mins at a time, so still getting plenty of sleep!
DS woke this morning at what I thought was his 5/6am feed, so I just got up, fed him and put him back down. He didn't settle as quickly as he normally does so I checked the time and it was 7am! LOL, ah well, he went back to sleep for another hour and a bit, we got up at 8.15am.
-
Well, I rang the chiro today and they could see us at lunchtime (yay!). I took Kieran in and told the chiro about his unsettledness, back arching etc...and the chiro found that his right shoulder was out a little. He said it looks like an injury, but I can't for the life of me think of how it happened. I can only guess it was from me dressing him? I don't know, but I feel like a bad mother again lol! He said he could have injured it just playing too, so who knows. But anyway, he fixed his shoulder up. Kieran didn't cry once, I was so proud of him! I got him home and he fed for 15 minutes as opposed to his usual 5 minutes and he played happily on the floor without arching his back. I put him to bed just before and he was happy instead of crying like he has been doing over the last few days. I think we may have fixed the problem!!! I suppose only time will tell, but it is all good so far!
Rebecca - What an awesome birthday present your cat gave you! Now your kittens share your birthday, awww... I saw the picture of them, they are just gorgeous! I can't believe they are all a different colour. What are you going to do with them when they get a bit older?
Leah - Thanks again for another tip! I will have to look into getting that stuff, I have a health food shop nearby.
Saffi - Are you looking at selling your house? Or are you just getting an evaluation? We got an evaluation a few months ago just out of interest.
Nic - It's good to know about the P&T prams from actual owners! I had no idea you could have probs like that. If we have a third bub I would look into getting one, but it's handy to know what other's think of them.
Mo - Maddi is such an angel sleeping so well at night for you!
Kellie - If Kieran didn't wake until 8:30am I wouldn't know what to do with myself! Actually, I could find lots to do lol! Joel used to sleep much longer o'night than Kieran does, but Kieran's not too bad so I can't complain.
Willow - Yay for your DS for sleeping until 7am! I hope he keeps doing that for you!
Ahhh...it's so peaceful...both boys are asleep...so nice... :)
-
:happybirthday: REBBECCA HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD ONE!!!
I started writning post earlier and then my power decided to shut of for a minute so i cant for the life of me remember everything i read and was writing:D!!
Isabella and I have had a big week, I went and saw Bon Jovi last week YAY!!! and then we've been down the coast over the long weekend.
Her teething seems to be bothering her the last few days aswell but still nothing coming through! she wont take a teething ring, gummy dummy or anything that isnt her hand or my finger:)
I am having a bit of an issue with my mum... she babysits Isabella on SAt when i work and has done for about 6 weeks now.. my issue is that my lil bro & sis (11 & 13) dont leave Isabella alone when she is there they are always in her face and my M & D dont think she is tired until she is screaming.. they dont believe in routines and think i'm silly for having one for her. so by the time i pick her up she is tired and grumpy and eally hard to settle for the night... i have told them numerous times about her routine but they thnk it doesnt matter... i need to work that 1 day a week for some extra $$$ but dont know what to do about this. BTW last sat her godmother looked after her and she was her norm happy self when she came home so its not that i'm not there!!!
any suggestions would be appreciated!
-
Rebecca - Happy Birthday! Hope ya get really spoilt!
Willow - How do I find this famous pic that everyone is talking about? It sounds great!
Mo - Yeah Chels is FF too. She sleeps 8.30 - 7am most nights, give or take an hour. Cant complain about that!!
Trish - Oh you poort thing! Dont feel like a bad Mum though. Its not like you did it on purpose! Babies are so delecate, it could have happened to any of us. And at least it is all fixed now!
Nerida - We still on for Thursday? I'll PM you my number too, in case we have any probs!
Brissy girls - Have we decided on the first Thursday of every month?
Well, weighed myself this morn, so far in 3 weeks I have lost 4kg and 4cm! Yippee. Not a lot, but this time I feel really motivated so Im determined to succeed!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!
Hope you have had a wonderful day!
I stopped wrapping Kaylee ages ago as she has been sleeping on her stomach for ages and ages, so stopped wrapping not long after and she is a pretty good sleeper now!
Trish - glad to hear the Chrio helped! some Inner Health Plus would be good for you to take if you have justed stopped taking ABs... and perfectly safe while breastfeeding!
I have been doing a pram fitness class twice a week for a couple of weeks now... ARG! I am so unfit, but hoping this will help get me motivated to exercise more, eat less and healthier. I seriously need to trim down and get fit! Had a class this morning and I am exhausted... K has just gone down for a nap, I think I might go have a little mamma-nap before I organise dinner etc...
-
Heya all,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!!
Sleeping-Ryan sleeps from 7pm to 7am and has a hour during the day and is happy and wants to play the rest of the time I don't think it's normal but he won't sleep any other way and is such an energiser bunny! How many hours sleep should a 3 1/2 month old get?
Off to the dr tomorrow to get a check up from the hospital visit and maybe some bleeping answers. Also my gallbladders been causing me a bit of grief and I think it may be related to hormones not only diet because I've been eating a gallhappy diet and I still get attacks but when I was pregnant I never got one, nor after, but since I started on the pill it's not only at night but I've had a few during the day which NEVER happened before. I've got one 2.5 cm stone they were going to remove but then I found out I was pregnant hoping for a diet/hormone easy fix though!
Trish- stop feeling like a bad mum! You are a awsome mum darl, is it possible it could of happened on the way out into the big wide world? Or some kungfu bed moves? I'm glad they found it though I hope he'll feel better soon :)
Everyone else- loves to all, need to go lay down though so sorry I'm not replying to ppl individually *hugs*
-
Celtic - "they" say at this age a bub should have 8-10 hours overnight (with feed/s) and 2-3 sleeps during the day of about 2-3 hours. Having said that, DS usually does 2 sleeps of 2 hours (but sometimes only 1.5 hours) and the third is a bit of a shocker (usually his morning sleep). Hope you get some answers at the drs tomorrow.
Trish - glad the adjustment at the chiro seems to have done the trick. Stop beating yourself up, he could have hurt his shoulder 100 different ways!
Um ma - I'm eating a maccas sundae....seriously need to start working on dropping a few of these extra kgs I'm lugging around...
-
Trish - glad to hear Kieran is all fixed up... I know exactly what to do when Tahlia sleeps till 8.30 - I sleep too!
Becky - way to go on the weight loss.... I've started back at the gym now so hopefully I can budge a few kgs too! The cadbury macadamia chocolate I'm eating while I type this is not going to help though!
Peta - the pram fitness class sounds like a great idea, a good way to meet other mums too. I'll have to investigate if they have something like that in my area
Celtic - I'm convinced Tahlia doesn't sleep as much during the day as she is supposed to though, after sleeping about 10 hours overnight, she'll have a long 2 hour nap in the morning, then only about 2-3 40 mins naps after that until bedtime again. I wish I could get a longer sleep in the afternoon
-
Happy 4months Kaylee! love the new ticker pic btw!
Willow- yep C/Norton = Chipping Norton, close to Liverpool. i forget where you said u were. Bugger after i went to go grab the Sunday Paper i realised the paper bin went out thismorning with that paper in it.... can u scan a copy or anything or did someone else?
Tyron seems to have a feed/play/sleep/wakes for a while/sleep again before feed during the day.
-
Nic - der, Chipping Norton, I should have known that! I have a few copies of the paper, I got one, DH got one MIL got one LOL! I don't have a scanner though!
I am near Penrith, so not that far away.
-
Evening all
L has been doing 2 x 2 - 3 hour sleepsduring the day, the same in the evening, and then about 5 hours overnight. Last night he slept until 4.15am which is earlier than usual but at least he wasn't up at 2am.
Trish - we are thinking about moving. We only have 2 bedrooms atm and even with his limited amount of stuff we are starting to burst at the seams. Would be nice to have a house we can grow into.
Becky/Brissie girls - Thursday next week is ok with me. I would prefer Garden City.
Anyway, feeling pretty tired so off to bed. Hopefully I will sleepthry to 5am (or later).
See you tomorrow.
-
Morning all!
Well, after yesterday's post Kieran slept for 2 hours! I had to wake him :( because I didn't want him to wake up while I was trying to cook dinner. He then had another 1 hour nap and was his usual happy self. We had an "interesting" night last night though. He woke up a few times between 1am and 3am so I ended up just feeding him. He went back to sleep, but then woke again at 5:45am and wouldn't settle so I fed him again at 6:15am. I have a feeling he is in a bit of discomfort after the chiro session. He would have gone straight back to bed except that Joel started chanting "help mummy, help mummy" (as he does) as loud as he could. I couldn't go in to him because I was feeding Kieran and DH just lay in bed while I was getting all stressed out grrrrrrr! I blasted DH when he finally got up (after I'd seen to Joel and Kieran was now wide awake) and all he said was "why didn't you ask me to help?". WHAT????? Anyway, as you can tell I am really peeved at him right now lol!
Anyway, I'll be back in for personals soon. I just needed to vent a little!
-
greetings all
wrapping - i wrap james with his arms out, so just underarms and below. he wears his big softies for those evil swatting hands. he's too much of a kicker to have regular bed sheets etc. my wraps came from a friends mum - they're huge and fantastic.
feeds - he still feeds for 10 minutes because he's a piggie. in all reality i could take him off after 5 minutes but he squeals (like a piggie), then proceeds to throw up all the extra he took in.
sleeps - he goes to 'big bed' around 7.30 or sometimes 8.30 and will wake for boob at 1am. then he sleeps till 5am. the fuggin birds and qld sunlight make him think it's party time so it would be a rare day that he goes back to sleep after that.
i usually feed, change and plonk him on our bed with DH while i do stuff then put him back to bed at 6.30-7am.
most days he'll do a 2-3 hour nap and a couple of shorties 45-60 minutes. depends on his mood. he's been trucking on through without his afternoon nap lately, which is pretty exhausting. it makes his afternoon stints about 4-5 hours long.
when he was younger he'd sleep for 8 or 9 hours straight but he got over that pretty quickly.
his longest time without boob would be from 6pm feed to 1am (7 hours), but the sleep is not usually more than 5 hours at a stretch, if that makes sense. i wonder whether he just needs to be soothed through the 1am thing because he chucksui'd it all back on me this morning and cried with a sore tummy. DH was impressed! normally james feeds while sleepy at 1am and passes out and i can pop him straight back down and he won't even flinch. oh well... keeps things colourful i suppose.

Trish - we had a similar night. Have had a few lately and it's starting to wear me out. I was hoping it was a growth spurt but now I have no idea. I'm beginning to think this kid won't ever sleep for longer than 4 hours at a time (and he hasn't even done that the last few nights)!
