Exactly the same as us! I just can't work out WHY he has started waking sooooo often. I have become a bit more strict with feeding him, only fed him at 1am and then just before 4am then he woke at 6.30am and went back down till 8am. But he woke about 4 times other than those arrrrrrgggh!!

Taking him to the chiro today, not expecting miracles but hey, it's worth a shot!

So funny that you mention bubs growing out of clothes...I discovered last night that DS doesn't fit into his 000 long sleeved suits anymore! Waaaaaah! He is well and truly in his 00s. Still fits 000 in some things but I don't know for how much longer. I hate packing up his clothes though, makes me sad :( He will probably be our last baby so no one to pass them on to. I still hate packing up DDs clothes for the same reason and she's 3! LOL!

Stillhoping - thanks for posting that link (although I'm not sure if you're supposed to??) we are fast approaching 4 months so maybe that explains this horrid nights sleeping? He was almost 2 weeks overdue so physically he is already 4 months (I've never understood why they correct the developmental age of a premmie but not a baby that's overdue? Maybe because most of the time dates aren't rock solid, but in our case they are because of IVF).

Morning everyone!

Had an OK night last night, pretty much a typical one! K woke at 3:30am and 7am for feeds so I guess that's OK, I still feel pretty tired though! I'm going to ring the chiro in a few minutes I hope I can get in today.

Stillhoping - I think it's always worth getting your bub checked out, they reckon 80% of babies have issues due to labour and the position they were in in the uterus. I live in the eastern suburbs, but the chiro has two clinics, one in Ivanhoe and one in Boronia (I go to Boronia). If you want their details PM me and I will forward them to you. Thanks for the link, very interesting!

Willow - Glad you had a better day with L yesterday! Let us know how you go at the chiro/osteo today. I hope the nights get better for you soon, it's horrible feeling so tired all the time (that's me right now lol!).

Leah - I hope Amara does her big sleep a bit later for you! It's annoying when they change it on you. Kieran has been out of 000's for ages, he has a really long torso and he even stretches out some of his 00 suits! My first DS lasted much longer in 000s.

Becky - I hope your DH gets better soon for your sake lol!

Amber - Sorry you've got a cold sore, they're nasty aren't they? I got one once when I went on an 8 day sailing trip from sunburn. It was sooo painful. I bought some Blistex and it cleared it up really quickly. I hope it gets better soon :hug:. Oh yeah, we forgot to take a photo again! We all remembered as we were walking back to our cars, but by then none of the bubs were feeling very photogenic!

Mo - I hope Maddi settled down for you last night. Maybe it was the outing that threw her out? She was so well behaved yesterday!

This is going to be a selfish post (sorry).

Another bad night. Fed twice overnight and up another 2 times to settle him (just put the dummy in). Also in his evening sleep he was so unsettled and we were going in almost every hour to settle him. On the upside tho he BF at both feeds.

I think he might be coming down with a cold. He is very snuffly and looks like he might have a runny nose. Doesn't have a temp yet but does feel a bit hot. Anyway I will monitor it for a while and take it from there. Poor little thing.

The warning signs for teething seem to be the same as a cold so who knows he could be teething.

Amber - are you looking to stay on your side of town for the naming ceremony/reception? Maybe somewhere like the Botanic Gardens in the City or out at Toowong. Roma Street parklands?? We married at the Bardon Centre and they have lovely gardens and reception rooms.

Anyway, L is calling out for me so best be going.

Pretty much spent the whole morning crying :(
She hasn't cut back on her bottles or anything, don't think she's sick.

Hope everyone who is having sleeping problems finds their solutions soon! I wanted to go back to bed after tahlias 1st feed this morning, but she kept waking back up.... I kept trying to settle her and then I'd go back to bed, in the end I settled her and decided to get up and now she is still sleeping... cheeky girl

Melb gals - it was great catching up again yesterday... it is a shame we can't meet with everyone in here!

MOrning all! Well a bit of a selfish post again today.
We had a really carp weekend. Friday night was pretty good. Routine went right out the window...drinks at a friends place at 5 then she fell asleep in hjer pram in their loungeroom at 630. We woke her at 9 to take her home. Got her fed and home (a whole 40 ml!!) and she slept until 5! YAY if only I had known that that was the most sleep I would get all weekend.
Saturday night DH drove the Cloncurry football team to MT Isa (120 km away). I thought he was going to ring me to pick him up when he got back to Cloncurry so I stayed up waiting waiting waiting! Anyway - he walked in the door at 1145. Caitlyn woke at 2 for a feed and I got her back to bed. 5 am rocks around - DH is in the toilet spewing - while in Mt Isa he had McDonalds for dinner. BAAAAAAAD McDonalds! So of course I feel really bad for him and I decide to get up when Caitlyn wakes at 6 instead of him - Sunday morning is my sleep catch up day. What a nice wife I am. Well......sick?? Lasted maybe 2 hours after he got up at 9. At 1130 (while C was asleep on his lap) he asks me to grab something out of the fridge for him......coke and M&M's!! How sick can he be? Never mind - will let it go. I cleaned the kitchen - boy it was a mess - cupboards and drawers wiped out etc etc. Vacuumed, mopped, did 3 loads of washing. I was hanging it out and without asking or anything DH helped me. Very nice. Anyway - later on that day - I made lasagne from scratch! And I can't remember what started it but he says to me...."I'm sick as a dog and you make me do all this stuff." WTF did I actually ask him to do I asked him.......no answer of course! So he's ****ty all afternoon and I am just over the **** - I am VERY tired!
Anyway - last night was an absolute horror!! Caitlyn fought sleep (cause of course DH let her nap so much during the day) until 730pm. then was up at 10, 1230,2,430, then 6. Bought her back to bed and she started crying and fussing at about 615. I was so frustrated - I got up and left her on the bed so I could go to the toilet. Come back in DH has her cradled in his arms and she is no longer crying. So I think I will try to wrap her again. He snaps and yells at me....if you want help just ask!!! JESUS!! Yesterday I was asking too much from him....now Im not asking enough??? WTF Anyway - things are a bit frosty between us ATM. I am really over his carp but.......
Sorry!!! Needed to vent. Anyway - suffice to say....Caitlyn had a carp night sleep last night. Therefore I had a carp night sleep! The cot sheet is no longer working! I triued the Angel wrap method - no go! I think she had just slept too much during the day and just wasnt tired! She only gets about 3 20 min naps and one 1 hour nap during the day at daycare. And shje sleeps like an angel at night. So am going to try her tonight without a wrap - just a sleeping bag. I found a sleeping bag with long sleeves on ebay last week and it arrived in the mail today. Will see how we go.
Anyway - had better get some work done.....all half an hours worth that i have to do! MWAH

sleep deprivation is an utter b!tch, rebecca. our household (primarily DH) is suffering a bit too. jj decided to pick up the 1am feed last night. he changes his moods with his nappies. i hear ya.

i dream of a world where we never have to ask for help - somehow everyone just knows to jump in and do ***** for us.

i'm pretty ratty at the mo. i feel like my identity is gone and that i'm in groundhog day.

sucks nuts, lemme tellya.

The wrost thing is....I normally dont ask for help cause I normally dont need it! So I think he is just used to me being able to cope.....but he fails to see the signs that I am obviously not coping. Could be the fact that he is fast asleep and snoring in bed while I am sitting on the couch cradling our baby and sobbing!
Identity??? Whats that??? I feel like I am just Caitlyn's mum - no longer Rebecca - an individual with needs and wants. I feel really bad cause I have been snapping at him a lot because I am tired but he just thinks I'm in a bad mood. We had a HUGE fight a few weeks ago and I was thinking seperation - now I am pretty sure we are heading down that path.

when i'm up feeding the boy at 4am (or any other stupid hour) i think divorcely thoughts too. he is a very helpful husband most of the time but cracks it from sleep dep every now and then. i'm always sleep deprived and i think that's why i fantasise about a life where there's no one to bug me.

we get no time alone together and the relationship has a wedge growing in it... no matter how cute james may be.

perhaps this is also why i want to chop my hair off a la katie holmes.

VIV - lol at the groundhog day - that's exactly what it feels like sometimes!

Well my little fella is doing it all in reverse - he's gone from nightmare baby to an absolute joy! The most he wakes is once a night and he is a really happy little bub. The only thing that drives me a little crazy is that he never sleeps when I go out - too much to see and do! So because I will not be staying home just so he can sleep he often only has a total of two hours all day. Then on home days like today, he just sleeps and sleeps to catch up!

Will be back in later to reply to everyone - have baby on boob atm! Just wanted to pop in and check on mums and bubs.

Oh Nerida - M has come down with a little cold so L could be too. Little bub next door also has one so something must be going around. Little L is looking so good! Can't believe how much he has grown! Hope he starts sleeping for you! xo

Ahhh helpful.....DH is not really. He works ALOT but does not a lot around the house. Cooks dinner most nights during the week and if he gets some time at lunch he will do the dishes. Now I know that I only work 5 hours per day but my work at home goes for the other 19 hours. Sleep deprivation?? He doesnt even stir when I hear her cry on the monitor - swears he doesnt even hear it! He gets his 8-9 and sometimes 10 hours sleep every night!
Hmmm hair chop - DEFINITELY thought about it on Saturday when I finally got it cut (first time in 4 months!). But my very fine hair would go into a mass or curls - messy crap curls that take too much time to take care of!! So much easier to run a wet brush through it and chuck it up into a pony tail!

Viv - I hear ya! I am having a really baaaaad day today. Just had a minor meltdown which ended in lots of tears (me, not him). He just will not settle today and it's doing my head in. Sleep deprivation from 2 weeks (or is it 3 now? I've lost count...) of crappy nights probably not helping the situation.

Days like today I just feel like I can't do it anymore (this sleeping carp, not being a mum). It's just too hard. It shouldn't be this bl**dy hard!! Feel like I'm completely wasting my time.

In half a mind to can the osteo appt this afternoon, I have to stop looking for answers cause I just dont think there are any, and we could really use the $70 elsewhere.

Sorry for the selfish, depressing post, just needed to get that off my chest...

Rebecca - I'm sorry you and DH are having a rough time but don't be too concerned, most couples hit a rough patch when a new baby arrives. It's just so much hard work and not enough sleep and it takes its toll eventually! I'm sure you will both be fine. Maybe just sit him down and tell him how you are feeling and have a good talk about what's been happening.

:hug: Big hugs to Rebecca and Viv. This is the worst part, I swear! It does get better, you do start getting more time for yourself. It just sucks when you are in the thick of it all. Relationships can get really bad right about now. TBH after Joel was born DH & I had big troubles and I basically said let's get counselling or lets just walk away. We got counselling and it was the best thing we could have done. It just helped clear the air and helped us understand where the other was coming from. So just wanted to say that you guys aren't alone, there are lots of mums feeling the same! It was around the 6 month mark that I started feeling like myself again. Hang in there guys you are doing soooo well :hug:

Missed other posts - Viv and Rebecca - I think what you are feeling is something every 'new parent' couple goes through at some stage or another. Was just talking to my GF today about exact same thing - with D sometimes I feel like he just doesn't get it. It's weird cause I have never loved him more but at same time have never felt so frustrated with him! Anyway, just wanted you to know that you are certainly not alone in feeling the way you do! xo

well i am so exhausted atm even with a good night sleep.
we had Tyron's christening yesterday, just put a few pics up in the gallery. unfortunatley our good camera broke and our cheap camera batteries ran out so hardly got any photos. Mum and sister took plenty so have to get copies from them.
It was such a full on day. Had to feed ty whilst he was getting christened, Nixon was roaming around the church like he owned it, the preist was quiet odd to say the least!

after that we went to a local golf club. it was also my nephews christening we combined it. My SIL organised the room etc, it was fine exept it wasnt a proper room just a section of the club.
at one stage i noticed no nixon, i started looking for him, got a few ppl looking for him and then a rather un impressed staff member had him and told us he got him just before he walked out to the car park.
after that i was eagle eyes onto him, running after with heels on, then he got tired and cranky, and clingy on both dh & I which is unlike him. he then threw cake and pizza all over dh (lol i thought it was funny!) and i barely got to talk to anyone, didnt get to open presents there and ppl were leaving before we did the cake.
when we got in the car it was like blahhhhh just turn off the light and we could have been asleep!

so i need to dress Ty up again to try and get a better pic of him and Nixon & him aswell.
on top of all that i lost my voice on Sat and have a stuffy nose.

anyway thismorning ive been shopping, washing, putting stuff away i just cant seem to get on top of it, then dh goes off at me for breaking the camera, coffee machine and car!! ive been telling him the car is in desperate need ot servicing for 6months and finally he tells me it MUST be done Tuesday he is away again and its my responsibility and do i want to kill the kids when the breaks fail me???? WTF he is so "Your job my job" sort of person so in that case isnt it a males job to do all the car stuff!!
im too exhausted to even argue with his stupid comments i just told him to stop talking to me.
if anyone figures out how to create an extra day in the week please let me know!!

Aww Willow - I wish I could give you a real hug today! Here's a cyber one :hug:. I'm having a dodgy one too. K screamed and screamed when I tried to get him to have his first nap, I ended up in tears too. I have booked him in for the chiro tomorrow, who knows if it will help, but I am desperate! I called my sister who is having similar issues with her DD, it's nice to know I'm not the only one sometimes. I am now wondering if my milk supply is OK, does he have silent reflux, is he teething (he has red cheeks today)? WHO KNOWS???? Do go to the osteopath, I know it is a lot of money, but they might just have the answer you are looking for. If they don't, well, at least you know you explored that avenue and you won't go on wondering if it would help. Hope the day gets better for you.

Nic - I think you need a hug too! :hug: Hope you get some well earned rest soon. I really wouldn't want another day in the week, it is long enough as it is lol!
