Mornin' all!
Julia - Yay on the hot chiro LOL! I'm glad you were happy with him, they don't do anything nasty to babies I promise! K's chiro is the most wonderful, supportive man. He gave me his number so I can call him to ask about absolutely ANYTHING. Re: the trial, I personally would be too scared! But it's also important that vax's can be tested on babies so it's a tough one.
Kellie - *Wolf whistles* Your av looks hot!
Amber - My skeptical guess about a change in 6 months time is that Myles will be walking? Most babies start walking about that age. But then again, Myles is such a go-getter he may start walking sooner rather than later!! I thought Joel would walk early because he was so quick to do everything, but he was 14 months old when he finally walked properly. How are you feeling today?
Mo - I hope Maddi's tummy goes back to normal soon. The poor thing.
Anyway, I really should be doing housework!
-
julia - you couldn't pay me to give james to the pharm companies to use as a guinea pig. i have issues with any vax that's not seriously time tested.
look at the poor girls getting sick from gardasil because it wasn't tested long enough.
my 2c.
oh i had every kind of measles as a kid. *woot*
-
Kellie-Woohoo - hot mama!!! I know what you mean about the little waist!! Was talking to my DH who told me that my post-baby body was the best ever shape - "and of course things are going to wobble when they didnt wobble before" - Grrrr NOT the right thing to say!!!
Julia-I know what you mean - I would be really unsure as to whether I could put Caitlyn into a trial - I would be nervous about it. But great that things went well with the Chiro!! Thats fantasitc. I am not a big fan of them but when they work they are worth their weight in gold! Even better that hes HOT!! MAkes spending the money much easier!!
Willow-I know what you mean about the wrapping!! It was becoming harder and harder to actually get and keep Caitlyn wrapped at night and one night I was in tears because everytime I started to wrap her she would wake up completely and then fight me every step of the way!! So it was a huge challenge to get her to bed! I ended up taking a day off on a friday and the thursday night I just put her down unwrapped and hoped for the best. I was lucky in that it didnt end up bothering her that much and she slept for about as long as she had when wrapped. It was just her time. Maybe, tuck a sheet in quite tightly so that he cant move that much while he is asleep/trying to get to sleep? and then change it to a blanket so that its heavier?? I dont know - sounds like its a security thing?? I had to wrap Caitlyn soooo tightly and snugly. Wasn't easy!!
Anyway - we had another alright night last night. Down at 7 again up at 5 again but this time I couldnt get her to settle after and ended up bringing her back to bed with us at 530. But she was wide awake and we ended up awake with her! So awake since 5 and a full day at work today. DH is lucky enough to have the day off - wonders will never cease - so he can at least have a little nap sometime during the day and I have no doubt that he will!! Oh well as long as he comes and gets me for lunch its all good!
Well the boss is looking at my funny - I dont normally need to do a lot of typing in my job! But seriously I cannot WAIT to give notice!!! Bored out of my brain most days now!
Have a great day all! MWAH

Well, I just dropped a crying Joel off for another kinder session :(. At least he didn't vomit today... He didn't put up as much of a fight when we were leaving either so I guess he's worked out that he has to go again. Oh the trauma of it all, I don't know who feels worse, Joel or me! I know in a week or so he will be happy to go again, it's just so painful in the meantime. Sometimes being a mum really hurts!
We went out and bought some things for the caravan last night. Kmart had a sale and we got a small microwave for $58, what a bargain! We also went to the Barbeques Galore clearance store and got heaps of plates, bowls and cups for dirt cheap. We got some sets of plates which are normally $20 for a pack of 4 marked down to $5 for 4! They are nice and plain too which is what I wanted, I didn't want something that will date. DH is so excited, he's like a little kid!
K was sitting in the trolley at the shops and I gave him my keys to play with when he got cranky. Put K in the car when we were finished, fished around in my bag, where are my keys??? I nearly cr@pped myself, it was pitch black, raining and we'd just walked out of a massive shopping centre! DH went back to the trolley he'd just returned and thank goodness they were in there *phew*! Luckily I checked for them, DH was driving and had his own keys, I may not have realised until today :o. Lesson: don't give your baby your keys!!!
Oh and some "celebrity" spotting, "Paul Robinson" from Neighbours was behind us on the escalators at Knox, he had a toddler on his shoulders. I've seen him at Forest Hill Chase as well, not really a celeb, but oh well!
Rebecca - I keep forgetting to say congrats on the new job! How awesome that you can work from home!!!
-
Thanks Trish - not quite up and running just yet but looks like it will be in around 6-8 weeks as I have to give at least one months notice at work.
Keys- I give mine to Caitlyn all the time.....but they are on a lanyard that i drop around her neck or tie to the trolley so if she drops them they dont go too far.
Anyway - looooooong day today and am really tired. you never really know how tiring doing barely anything all day can be!!
talk soon. MWAH

Maddi hates her cot now, she use to go down for day sleeps & sleep in there for half the night.
Now when she see's her cot she cries & if her put her down in there she'll scream and ends up making herself sick.
It's only gotten like this after the glass incident, Anyone have any tips for getting her use to it again?
Ange how are you feeling? Starting to feel pregnant yet?
Trish you got some great bargains, Glad you checked for keys & found them. At least K didn't throw them on the floor!
Rebecca-Congrats on your new Job.
Waves Hi to everyone else.
-
mo - the no-cry lady suggests doing 2 or 3 play sessions with the baby in cot during the day, where the baby has some favourite things while you sit right by it, or in a chair. you eventually withdraw your attention and sit quietly while they play. it makes the cot 'theirs' again.

Hi everyone!
We went to Ikea today to get some more bits & pieces for the caravan, I think we're nearly set! It is so crazy there, it took us ages.
DH went for another surf early this morning with is mate from Sydney. They are both nuts! His mate accidently packed his springy so he was freezing LOL! People kept coming up to him asking "Aren't you cold?". I was worried about sharks because they got in the water at 7:30am *shudder*.
Viv - I remember you talking about how messy James gets when he eats. At Ikea they have these bib thingies that have long sleeves and are kind of like a jumper so it would keep him really clean. They're called "Barnslig Rand" and they were $7.95 for a pack of two. Thought you might like to know!
Mo - Poor Maddi, hopefully she starts to love her cot again. Joel hated his so he slept in his hammock. Viv's suggestion is worth trying.
Hope you're all having a great weekend!
-
Thanks Viv sounds like a good idea, will try it tomorrow.
Trish i wish i had a hammock, Maddi loved her one at the hospital. If you ever get one in your store let me know please :)
How crazy surfing in this weather, don't know how people do it.
Went to the aquarium today, Maddi loved looking at the fish, when she saw the sharks & sting-rays she was pointing and laughing at them. She crashed 5 mins into the drive home, which was good.
We are getting our 6th tooth here, she looks so different when she smile now.
-
trish - thanks for the heads up... we have those trough bibs at the mo and i fashion a kayak skirt for him out of something else. we had the plastic short sleeve cover bib but this barnsling thing sounds good.
i call everything from ikea "mocken bloop"... it's just a part of my life... *wistful*
-
Viv - you crack me up...
Quick question - what yoghurt do you give your bub? With DD I just gave her the vaalia baby yoghurt but have since heard that the baby yoghurts have added sugar *uncool* and also need something that will do both munchkins, DD loves yoghurt and so not buying two seperate tubs unless I rooooly have to.
Wrap weaning going really well, no drama today. *IF *it continues like this, will consider myself very lucky...

Jalna is good WIllow. I use the plain and often mix in pear/apple/banana or just as is. Even the flavoured Jalna isn't too bad. Not too much crap in it.
Good here thanks Mo. ;)
eta- Is maddi feeling well? When the guni is a bit off colour, we have similar cot screaming episodes. MCHN seems to think it is seperation anxiety. But Lu alwasys gets better when she's feeling 100% again. Sorry no real pearls of wisdom. We're on tooth #7. Driving me nuts.
Went to visit the folks on Friday night. They have a dodgy old cot i picked up second hand. Well, cot probably not that dodgy, but the putting together of the cot was certainly dodgy. 2.30am the guni rolled against the side that goes up and down, the side fell apart and she rolled onto the floor. She was fine but scared the crap out of me, all that banging and crashing in the middle of the night! Cot is now fixed and DH never allowed to assemble anything again. ;)
My mum bought Lu this awsome old school tricycle to give her for her birthday yesterday. It is fire engine red, has a bell and streamers out the handles. It's ace.

Hi all,
Havn't posted here for ages but wanted to start getting regular again. So much has been going on lately. Bella is cutting her third tooth and doing really well, just a few grizzles. She's only just started to master rolling and is no where ready to crawl. She's such a good baby, been sleeping all night since 6wks, so I'm getting lots of sleep too . She grabs things now which is sooooo cute, love her to bits.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.
Bye,
Dianne

Willow-I just give Caitlyn natural greek yoghurt - she loves it!! Or I too give her the Jalna yoghurt! Its great cause it comes in such a big tub!
Ikea- wishful thinking. I have looked at their stuff online and would love to buy some but the closest one is Brisbane I believe - so not going to happen any time soon.
Caitlyn cut her 2nd tooth on Friday afternoon. I wouldnt even know that she was cutting it if she hadnt bit my finger!!! No crying, no extra/softer poos - nothing! Touch wood that the rest of them come through the same way! So she now has her two bottom teeth.
First "real" outing out as a family last night. We went to a 21st party. Caitlyn had a nap a bit later than usual and the nap turned into a 2 hour sleep! So at 610pm last night we opened her door and stopped being so "tip-toey" around. She woke, we fed her and then got dressed and went out to the party. Was a fun night. Neither of us could really drink as DH had to work at 6 this morning and of course I have Caitlyn to attend to. So it was a nice night.
Ange-I too would be banning DH from putting anything together!! Hope Lu is ok and your heart rate has slowed by now!!
Well thats it from me. Am off to make some baby food for the week and some cake and biscuits for me, DH and maybe C if she is a good girl!
Have a great day all - MWAH

Morning all!
K has a new favourite toy atm, a tub of Duplo, he loves to tip it up and play with the tub and the pieces. It's so cute!
Rebecca - Congrats on C's second tooth! I'm glad she got through it so easily.
Dianne - Welcome back :hello:! It will be great to have you around more often. Glad to hear Bella is doing so well. Kieran isn't close to crawling either!
Ange - Yikes on the cot falling apart! That must have been a huge fright. I'm glad Lu is OK. The bike sounds gorgeous!
Willow - I've used Jalna yoghurt for both boys because it doesn't have as much sugar as the other brands. Well done on weaning L off his wrap!
Mo - I will definitely let you know if I get any more hammocks in. Unfortunately they are hard to get. You could always try eBay otherwise.
Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Does anyone have any advice for nappy rash??? Caitlyn's comes and goes. a few days witha cream and its gone then a few days later its back and that cream doesnt help so I chnage to another one and the same thing happens again. We are stuck in a vicious circle. Does nappy rash only occur on the bottom cause hers is more on her bits than her bottom!! Can she get eczema here and if so can I use the cream we got for the eczema on her back on that?? I dont want to hurt her. It doesnt seem to bother her but everything I have read says to give her nappy free time and if she oesnt have her nappy on she scratches it and makes it bleed - I just cant get a break on it!! Any advice????? PLEASE??? I am taking her to teh doctor tomorrow cause there has to be something else to do!
-
Hi,
Don't know if you've tried Canesten Cream which is really good for bad napppy rash, worked wonders for Bella. Canesten would also be safe to put on her front bits too.
Regards,
Dianne

Cool, thanks guys. I ended up buying Jalna last night anyway. Was going to get the plain but doubt DD would eat it so I got the vanilla instead. Figured it was the next best thing. Gave him some for lunch and he liked it.
In a bit of a bind with the food biz actually - seems he's getting over the mashed stuff but still not doing too well on finger foods. Has toast every morning but eats one or two fingers max then starts throwing them back at me :wall:. Same deal with carrots, brocoli, pieces of chicken/lamb etc etc. What are you guys giving bub for lunch?
