Alz - tell me about it! I can't believe that someone so small creates so much washing. It just takes organisation to get it all done (or just don't worry about the stuff that doesn't). I prepare as much as I can the night before even to laying out the breakfast dishes on the bench ready for the morning.
Dianne - sorry to hear that Bella is sick. Extra hugs always make me feel better.

L bought DH his fathers day present today - an in-car navigation system. DH is always getting lost even on trips he's done a hundred times. DH was there when we bought it and he did all the research for it so not a surprise but at least it is what he wants.

a couple of days ago Tyron started saying mum yayyy!! is too cute mumumumum
and he has mastered clapping really well and is so pleased with himself hehe.
He has also started pointing, points at anything and everything.
He's about 10.5kg also. he's slowed right down seeings the big boofa was 10kg at 8months!

cows milk- with Nixon i gradually introduced it. so in one bottle once a day i did half cows milk and haf formula. then when i knew he was taking it ok i did it one 2 bottles a day etc and then eventually decressed all of the formula from them to just milk.
prob cause i only really bought formula for nix from 8-9months ive really noticed the expence that formula costs but this time around have been buying it since 3months and i am looking forward to Tyron switching to cows milk.

what's the goal for cow's milk? how many a day once they've switched over?

for those still bf there is no real need to start cows milk at 12months if you dont want to, bf still provides everything they need.
Once on cows milk i tend to give Nixon 3 bottles a day each of about 150ml.
i dont measure it for him anymore and generally give it to him in the morning and then when he asks for it, he gets enough other dairy throughout the day with yoghurt or wheet bix & milk etc

Well Maddi is offically walking now, it looks so cute she kinda waddles when she walks.
She gets so proud of herself when you clap, she just stands clapping with this huge smile lol

K is finally getting onto his knees and rocking, better late than never LOL. He had some grizzly days last week, but seems to be back to normal. He may have cut a tooth, but I'm not game to look in case he bites me :o!

Viv - Can't for the life of me remember the rules with cows milk, sorry :P. Good luck to your niece tonight!

Nic - Yay to Tyron for saying mum! K only says it occasionally when he's whinging at me :rolleyes:.

Saffi - What a great father's day pressie! We used to have sat nav in DH's last company car, I miss it, it was so handy!

Dianne - Poor Bella, I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

alz - I'm glad work is going well. It must be a big change compared to before Ethan! I hope he's feeling better than he was the other day.

Nice work on the walking Maddi, Lu has taken a few steps, but not what a would class as a walker yet, not too far off though. Although her right leg is turned out, have to go to paed to get her heart checked so will get her hips looked at too.

Top teeth are the worst Viv, i was giving panadol 2 times a night for a long time, but i would do the same again, otherwise she was waking every 15-45min. I was going nuts, but it did pass. When she is not sick, Lu is sleeping 7pm until 6-7am. This started when i cut out the night feeds. Took a bit of work, but well worth it for my sanity. (When unwell, could be 3-4 wake ups a night though.) She has whole egg now.

Lu has cow's milk on her weetbix, i think it is fine to give, just not as their main milk drink. Afterall they are having other dairy, yoghurt cheese etc.... MCHN said to me they need 3 servings of dairy at 12 months. One serve is 200ml of milk, a small tub of yughurt, not sure how much cheese....

Lu developed excema when were up in QLD, not sure if it co-incided with me giving her strawberries. But cut out the berries and QV up 3 times a day and it is so much better. I hope Myles doesn't have psoriasis Amber, poor little man. If it is excema, inner health plus have a new product that is supposed to be awsome. I have some, will see how it goes.

Star- How did little Mateo go? More importantly, how did you go?????

Morning all,

Took Bella back to GP this morning because she seemed to be getting worse. Last night when I gave her antibiotics she spewed it all back up. I think she was coughing so much it made her bring it back up. Doctor says now that she has broncheolitis. The poor bub, hate to see her not well.

Maddi - way to go with the walking, that's fantastic.

Hope you are all having a good start to the week.

Dianne - sorry to hear that Bella is so sick. Ethan was on Amoxil a few weeks ago and he developed an allergy to it. Not suprising as I am allergic to it too. Hope she is better really soon.

Well Ethan is still not doing well. We have had a shocking few days. I think it's the top teeth. He cries all the time and is so cranky at us. He is off his formula which makes me concerned. Yesterday he had 200mls in the morning and that was it. He had some cows milk on his wheatbix but wouldn't touch it the rest of the day. Today he had 140 mls this morning. Out of desperation I made up 100mls in a cup and he drank 50. Should I be worried? He is also sleeping a lot. Back to 2 sleeps a day. Not that I am complaining about that one but he is not himself.

Hope you are all doing better than us today.

Alz Maddi went off her formula, became very cranky, clingy, had a fever & at the peak of it all she cried for hours when tooth #8 came through, 3 days later she was fine.
But you know Ethan the best & if your really worried take him to the Dr's.
Hope everything is ok with him & it's just teething.

Alz and Dianne - sorry to hear your bubs aren't well. All you can do is try to do everything you can to help them, but don't forget to take care of yourselves too!
Ange - welcome home. I think we turned on some nice weather for you while you were here. How did the wedding go?

Milk - L doesn't really like cheese and can't stand yoghurt. I think I might have to sneak them into some other things. Any ideas?

We were up at least 4 times with L overnight. I even had to feed him just to settle him. Has anyone noticed their bub's cries/calling out has changed? L's almost sounds like a scream and usually does it when the dummy falls out. He sounds like a cat when he's wants his bottle. Hard to describe but his cries have certainly changed since he was a newborn.

Might try to get an early night in case I am called to action later on.

ange - how many nights of crying once night feeds went? what time was last feed of the night? how many does she have now?

Saffi - can you melt cheese into some of L's food to give him some extra dairy? I sometimes cook up some spiral pasta and then melt some cream cheese into them and Tahlia loves it! Its the only thing that she feeds herself really well (ie half of it doesnt end up on the floor!)

Wow! Lots of bubbas doing very clever things! Yay for Maddi walking and Maxi crawling and all the little chatterboxes!

Mateo was just fine at daycare! He slept for 3 hours, ate heaps and was all smiles playing with the big kids when I arrived. Me on the other hand, well, a little cry in the car on the way to work! ;) Was one of the most difficult things I've done - goes against every mother instinct in my body but once I saw how happy he was I felt better.

Saffi - LOL at L sounding like a cat!

Ange - was so great to meet you and hope you had a wonderful time in QLD. Luella is so cute! I love her curls!

Viv - when I stopped night feeds I got Domenic to get up to Mateo for a week and then he just stopped expecting feeds.

Well biggest news here is that Mateo has weaned himself. Two Sundays ago he just rejected me! Had been losing interest for a while before though. I still mostly do a morning feed if boobs are full but all the rest are bottles of goats milk which he seems to love! Was a little sad but am so glad it was something he chose to do rather than me making him do. The novelty of expressing at work was definitely wearing thin so that's easier at least!

Well off to baby music with little Myles now! They are so funny there - just eat all the instruments and Amber and I end up singing and dancing around like lunatics!
Better go wake the boy.

hey i have a new record round here today...5 POOS BEFORE MIDDAY!!! wtf?

this is crazy. every time he goes by me i smell the delicate waft. there isn't even a performance getting them out - they're just there.... like little gifts... bleh. heh.

Star- it was so nice to meet you and your DH too. (Even if he does barrack for Collingwood!) Must be a bit of a relief for the little man to wean himself. Well sad, but a relief that it was his choice as you say. I wouldn't mind too much if the guni weaned.

Viv- 3 nights of hour long crying with me cuddling and pacing the halls. Sometimes if it got too much i'd just feed her, and try again next time. When she stirred i would pat first, if no good, then i'd pick her up. After 3 nights, she started settling with the patting. Took a good week all up though. Now if she wakes, a pat might be needed, but i send DH with the guise that she'll smell my milk if i go. sucker! Actually in all hoesty she settled quicker for him b/c she knows she aint going to get any milk out of those pecs! Now she has 4 feeds, morning, lunch, before diner and before bed. Sometimes she doesn't have the before dinner one. Also worth mentioning when her top teeth were coming through i fed her almost every time she woke, and only cut the night feeds when she was 100%.
ETA- Last feed of night was 9.30-10.30 ish.

Wedding was good Saffi- Lu was pretty well behaved. I only let her have one champagne, didn't want her getting out of control. :P

Julia- Go Max! All in his own good time.

Bella was coughing all night. Her chest just sounds so rattly when she breathes. I went and bought a vapouriser this morning, so hopefully that will help a bit.

Goodness me - lookat all these bubbas all of a sudden doing stuff!! congrats to all the movers and groovers!!
my little bundle of joy is sooooooooo close to going from sitting to onto her hands and knees. She gets so far but her little leg just wont move to the back....but when it does she falls flat on her face!! But she soooooo wants to get moving you cansee the frustration in her little eyes.
DS-You have probably already heard this but have you elevated the head of the cot a ltittle?? I found this helped C when she had her cough. the vaporiser thing helped too. The other thing that helped, but i dont know if it helped her cough or her entire cold and made thecough go away, but i put baby vicks or eukybear on her feet at night and put them in a pair of socks.
Anyway - thought i would be able to pop in and out a bit more now that I am working at home but it just hasnt been the case!

Hi all!

Just a flying visit to suggest to Dianne the same as what Rebecca said, try some Baby Vicks on Bella's feet at night with a pair of socks over the top. I tried this recently with K, Joel and I and it works! I was coughing two nights ago, I finally got out of bed and put some Vicks on my feet and I stopped coughing instantly. Not sure if it's coincidence or not, but it's worth a try! I hope poor Bella gets better soon.

Oh and a big congrats to Max for crawling!!!!

Sorry for no more personals, I am swamped with the biz ATM. I don't know if I can keep this up! Lots of sales and I just had a lady sell me so much stuff it has more than filled my shop :o. Lots of photos and ads to put togther for me...Just as well it's fun!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and advice for Bella. We raised her matress last night and I rubbed vicks on her feet and had the vapouriser going and guess what? she didn't cough once during the night. She still sounds quite chesty but at least she had a good night sleep, thanks again.
We received some bad news early this morning, at 4.00a.m the phone rang, it was DH's brother from overseas, his dad passed away. Poor DH hasn't seen his dad in 15 years, he really wanted to see him one more time. So our house is a bit sad today, going to give lots of cuddles to DH.

Oh Dianne - that's terrible, terrible news. I am so sorry to hear that! It makes it especially sad that your DH didn't get to say godbye. I hope you are all OK.

It's such a beautiful sunny day in Melbourne today! I just took the boys on a long walk and we went to a couple of parks. It's so nice to get out and about again! I should be doing housework ATM to make up for my busy day yesterday, but I'm having a rest after our walk instead, housework will always be there!

K woke a few times last night, he is coming down with another cold and feels quite warm to touch. As soon as I gave him Panadol he slept soundly which was good.

Dianne - I'm so glad Bella (and you!) got a better night's sleep last night. I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL, what a sad time for you all :hug:.

Star - Don't apologise for sharing your weaning story again! I forgot that you already did!! I'm glad Mateo went well at DC. How is it being back at work?

Mo - It must seem so weird having a little walker! It only seems like yesterday that they were all tiny babies. How many weeks are you now? How have you been feeling?

Rebecca - It sounds like Caitlyn isn't far off moving!

Dianne - sorry to hear about your FIL. Glad that Bella is doing better. Don't understand why Vicks on the feet seems to help with coughs? You couldn't get any further away from the chest, but if it works.....
Terri - I cried all day my first day back at work (and L wasn't even in daycare at that stage). I honestly think L has developed so much more at daycare than he would at home with me. They have been doing heaps of craft with him lately and they even helped him make a Father's Day present for DH. I'm just not very imaginative when it comes to entertaining babies.
Ange - I knew Lu was a classy sort of bub.
Kellie - put some grated cheese in L's dinner tonight but he wasn't interested in it. The cream cheese and pasta sounds yum. Long life milk is fine. It is the same as fresh milk, just heat treated.
Trish - not another cold. You've all had such a bad run lately.

Good news - L slept thru last night. Put him down at 7pm, checked on him at 10.30 and put him back under the covers and didn't hear anything from him until 6am. Felt like carp today tho I was so tired. Don't understand how more sleep makes you more tired. :crossfingers: that L sleeps thru tonight.
Bad news - L has pretty nasty looking nappy rash atm. Don't know what has caused it. They change his nappy every hour at daycare and he has been in Aldi nappies for almost 2 weeks so don't think it is a reaction.

Any minute now my friend will be having her bub. Her waters broke this afternoon, but as the bub is in breech she is having a c-section tonight. He is about 3 or so weeks early. Can't wait to meet little William.

My day off tomorrow and L and I are off to the State Library for their story time. Never been before so hopefully it will be fun.

viv- hows the pooathon going? feels a lot like that around here lately, yesterday i changed 6 poo bums by 1pm (3 a peice they were keeping score) Ty end up winning with a late afternoon splurge....

one or both boys have been waking o/n, its echausting me to no end. Ty seems to wake about 45min after going down and needs to be cuddled back to sleep. then wakes between 4 and 6 and goes back to sleep in our bed.
Nixon either carrys on at bed time or then brings himself into our bed again anytime between 4 and 6. he was put to bed at 8.30om tonight and at 10pm is still up. he is laying in dh arms but wont goto sleep and just screams when u put him to bed.............
i think the parenting has got harder recently it definatley goes through stages

I haven't been in for a while cos I was due in November but had bub 17th October, but it is quiet in the October thread so thought I would pop in! It is hard to keep up because I only get on every couple of days, but hopefully I can try :doh:

My lil fella started walking two weeks ago and now climbs our stairs (2 flights). He is so happy and proud of himself, but can't actually stand up off the floor yet, he crawls to something that he can pull himself up on and then walks away :wall:

Lots of mums and dads and nans, but not much else other than babble!

Hopefully I will keep up, I promise to try :pray:

We are all officially really sick again :(. This time it's a cold that has turned into a barking cough. Poor Joel and K sound terrible. DH & I are feeling cr@p too. This sucks I tells ya! I've always been one of those people who catches everything going around so now that Joel is in kinder and bringing home germs we are constantly sick.

Bizzo has been so busy, I have been inundated again with more stock over the last couple of days so I am going to turn people away now. I have no more room!

Welcome Dragonbub! Wow, I can't believe your little man is walking already! We've slowed down a lot in this thread so I'm sure you'll be able to keep up ;).

What has everyone got planned for Father's Day? I will cook DH bacon and eggs. We are meant to be having a family gathering for DH's dad in the arvo, but I don't think we'll go with our colds. SIL will be there and she is 37 weeks pg, I don't think it's fair to make her or her DD sick at this late stage.

wow at walking and climbing the stairs!! Tyron can go up our stairs out the front but he hasnt learnt he needs to go backwards down them and just heads for them hands first.

i cooked dh breakky this morning then we had his fam over for a bbq lunch, they have left and my fam should be here soon.
last night i made two cakes one for dh dad and one we'll have with my fam, i traced the boys hands and iced them on the cake hehe!!

Wow it has been so long since I jumped on here and got updated with everyone. Its amazing to see how much the gorgeous bubs have grown! I will update my ticker the moment I get my computer back... I went to Fiji a couple of weeks agin n while I was away hubby managed to blow it up!!! HAHAHA oh well, should be fix in the next week or two.

Well I wont go into great detail about us cuz that would just take too long, but Tiera is doing so well. She gets around so well these days it can be hard to keep up with her sometimes. She is pulling herself up on EVERYTHING (which I'm sure many of you are experiencing the same things with your bubs) and has stood on her own a few times now, but the moment she realises what she's doing she bends down to sit! :) It is very cute anyways. I have been blessed with a great sleeper and eater and we are so very lucky to have a happy, bright little girl. I always knew motherhood would be fantastic, but never in my dreams could have imagined it being this great, I love her with all my heart , she makes life perfect!

I am so very clucky, but we are not planning to get preg again until this time next year.... If I can hold out! :D My DH would love to start trying again, but I think I wanna enjoy Tiera for a bit longer yet before I have someone else to tend to.

Trish - I hope you and the family are feeling better soon.

Hi all! just a quick one from me

Chels was a bit unwell Saturday while we were at my Mums, and when we got her home she through up everywhere. Anyway then Sunday I notice she has come out in this huge rash covering her ENTIRE body. So I took her to the Dr and it looks as though she has MEASLES!! Poor little girl. No idea how she got it! Havent really been in contact with other bubs. It is not overly dangerus for babies so thats one good thing. Just Panadol and fluids. lol. So had our hands full here, hoping it goes away soon!
