Hi everyone!
We've all been feeling blah so I haven't been in here spreading my misery. Lots of coughs and grumpy people in our house atm!
K has been pulling himself up to his knees and then letting go with one hand, he thinks he's so clever. He now names things too, he calls Joel or any other kids "bub bub" and DH of course gets "dad dad" whenever he walks into the room. The dog still gets "woof", but do I get a name??? No! He rarely ever says "mum"! DH was asking Joel to give some scraps to Jasper (our dog) the other day and K straight away said "woof" so he obviously knows our dog's name LOL!
Amber - Good girl getting out and going for walks! I lost weight rapidly when I started walking every day. It makes you feel good too!
Dianne - It must have been such a hard father's day this year. I'm glad to hear Bella is getting better.
Becky - Oh no, poor Chelsea! The poor little thing, I hope she gets better really soon.
Pish - Great to hear from you stranger! I am so jealous you got to go to Fiji! I'm glad to hear Tiera is doing so well, she sounds like such an angel :).
Mo - How are the birthday party plans for Maddi going? What did Phil get for his first Father's day?
Nic - You are so clever when it comes to cakes! I bet your Father's day cakes looked awesome. Are you all settled into your new home now? Are you happy with the neighbourhood?
Kellie - I can't wait for some warm weather to help get rid of these colds! Did you see it's going to be 23 degrees on Saturday? I can't believe this extreme weather!
Have a great night everyone!
-
Aww trish hope you guys get better soon! I love your ticker pic by the way he is such a cutie!!
-
Oh! Look at Myles!!! That is the CUTEST picture!!! (Thanks Amber, I think K is a cutie too ;))
-
This is the photo we used on his invites! He is a monkey! lol!
-
Hee hee, where did you get that suit?
-
Its a site called my make believe! They have so many gorgeous ones! I want them all haha!
-
Just had a look at that site, how could you even choose?! They are all so cute!
-
i know i love the flamingo i think its hillarious! But we always call Myles a monkey so it wasnt hard choosing that one!
-
Amber - LOL OMG about the psychic!! Better keep Chels away from Myles so it doesnt come true lol... And I think I already told ya that we will definately be at Myles birthday? Anyway, tell ya agian, we will! LOL And good on ya for walking!
Trish - Awww what a gorgeous pic!!
Not much new here. Back to the Dr tomorrow just to make sure Chels isnt any worse. This morning she woke up and her measles were SOOOOO bad... poor little thing, but then by the end of the day I could see they were definately a lot better. I googled them and they say that measles are actually quite rare these days, and they usually last about 5 days.... so hopefully....
Anyway, off to bed! Talk to ye all soon!
-
Hi everyone
We had Tahlia's 1st swimming lesson yesterday, she absoultely loved it, I couldn't get over how much she loved it. Maybe I have a future Olympic swimmer on my hands??
Pish - Fiji.... I'm very jealous. We 'might' be going there next year for a wedding, but we aren't 100% certain yet
Becky - Hope Chelsea gets better quickly
Amber - I'm also confused about Tahlia's day sleeps... she seems to need to change from what we have been doing, but I cant figure out exactly what she wants yet!
Trish - you poor things, hope you are all better real soon! How cute that K says 'woof'. I am definitely looking forward to the 23 degrees on Saturday!
It sure has been quiet in here - hope everyone is well
-
Hi All
Been lurking. Nothing much happening in my life thats worth talking about, but thought I should pop in.
Becky - Poor Chels. Hope she gets better really soon. Has Liam had them? You don't want him to be the next one to come down with them. I read in the paper recently that measles is making a bit of a come back. Do kids get immunized against normal measles?
Amber - love the monkey suit. Must check out the flamingo suit. Sounds weird.
Trish - are you all feeling better? My friend had her baby last Wednesday. Boy named William. She needed a c-section as he was in breech. He was 3200gr (heavier than L) but only 45cm. He is so tiny. I don't remember L being anywhere near that small. How soon we forget.
Kellie - thinking about starting L in swimming lessons for the summer. Only down side is that I'd have to get in my swimmers as DH refuses to go anywhere near a pool.
Tiff - glad to hear that you and Tiera are doing well. Seriously jealous about Fiji.
Dianne - love the updated photo of Bella. She's got lots of lovely dark hair.
Dragonbub - :welcome:
Anyone heard from Viv lately? If you're lurking pop in and say hi.
DH reports that L said Dada yesterday. L's not saying much at the moment. We keep talking at him but he's happy just gooing. Love woof - we have a lot of barking around here L's first word should have been woof.
Tried L on the heinz organic custard today. He loved it. Of course it was spread from ear to ear and all over the highchair but got a decent amount into him. Something else that I can give him. Made pancakes for DH on Fathers Day and made up a few small ones for L. Loved them.
Got the day off tomorrow so I'll be around if anyone wants to chat. Mind you I am planning to defrost the freezer (did it this time last year when I was on Mat leave) and lots of washing, so I won't be relaxing. Hoping I might get an afternoon nap in.
Talk more tomorrow.
-
Saffi - I know what you mean about swimmers! Thank god for board shorts!
-
Morning everyone!
We're still sick, but are starting to improve thank goodness. I can actually smell and taste things today :cheer:. I was given some chocolates the other day and I haven't started eating them yet, such a waste if I can't taste them LOL!
K is having a great time pulling himself up in his cot atm, he calls out if he can't get back down. He has a new trick too, he can brush is own hair! Last night after his bath I was trying to brush his hair, but he grabbed the brush out of my hands and started doing it himself . He's a bit un-co, but he seems to understand the concept! DH later tried to take the brush off K and he squawked and shook his head at DH, it was so funny! I have such a stubborn, determined little man!
Kellie - I'm glad Tahlia loved swimming. I'd love to take K, but it's hard when I've got Joel as well. DH & I keep saying we'll take both boys for weekend lessons, but somehow have never got around to doing it .
Saffi - Stop lurking and keep posting, I've missed you! Congrats to your friend on her little man, you really do forget how tiny they were don't you! Enjoy your day off today, even if you have to defrost the freezer! (Oh how I love my frost free freezer :p)
Becky - I hope Chelsea is much better today, hopefully she's over the worst of it. Is Liam at risk?
Hi to everyone else, if you're lurking make sure you come in and say hi!
-
Good morning all.
Trish - Glad to hear you are starting to feel better! It is a total waste of good junk food eating when u cant taste it!! lol Thats so cute K is brushing his own hair, its amazing how quickly little ppl pick up on things!
Becky- I hope it was goodnews from the Dr about poor lil Chels. Nothing worse than having a sick baby... and my lil girl has never really been very sick at ll, only a cold! Hope she is all better before too much longer.
Saffi - I've not had a lot going on lately either! lol I know how u feel!
Boomba - I love that pic of Myles!!! It is so cute n I c y you have chosen that one for your invites!
Kelly - Tiera also loves swimming, good to her Tahlia enjoyed herself!
I can't believe how much all the bubs have grown up. Some have changed a lot n others just look older! :)
Not a lot to report on here. Yesterday DH had a colonoscapy (sp?) so I had to go n hang out in the little town of Gloucester for the day... hmmmm it was so boring, but I took Tiera to the park n had a play on the swings and the slippery dip n the see saw and she loved it! She was an angel all day. When I got back to the hospital to pick up DH, you'd never know anything had happened! He was fighting fit n no pain what so ever! I was so realieved!
Well today I am going to get some papers to make Tiera's birthday invites... Haven't yet decided on a layout, but that will come ! :D
Take care all. I am sorry if I have missed anyone!
-
Trish the party plans are coming along.
We have someone making the cake, got all of the decorations just need stuff for the party bags, pinata & of course food & drinks.
Glad everyone is starting to feel better.
Kellie that's great Tahlia loved swimming, we want to start Maddi soon but Phil wants to be there to so hoping a spot on the weekend session opens soon.
-
Its just 11.30am and I can report the freezer is defrosted, 2 loads of washing are on the line and a third on timer, had a shower and L is asleep. Phew, think I need to have a lie down.
Trish - for fathers day MIL gave DH a kilo of Cadbury favourites!! I didn't know they came in boxes that big. We have been snacking on them all week. Being at home today I decided I would send them to work with DH otherwise I'd be pigging out on them all day. Hopefully he will leave them there. I have no self control when it comes to choccies. Been eyeing off the Lindt bunny thats been in the fridge since easter tho.
Mo - how exciting 2 weeks until M's birthday. Are you having a big party? Starting to think about L's. No idea yet about themes etc.
Have any of the bubs had cake yet? I spotted a ladybug cake in a recipe book I thought I'd try but its got a lot of bright colourings and just don't feel good about giving him stuff like that yet. But it wouldn't be fair to have a cake for L and then not give him any. Could always go ahead and make a big cake for the adults and have a plain patty cake for him. Was also thinking about sending in some patty cakes to daycare as he will be there on his actual birthday. I still have the top tier of our wedding cake in the freezer (yes I found it) so might pull that out as the adult cake.
Thinking we might go for a walk when L wakes up. Maybe have some lunch out.........

Hello all,
Had a hell of a week this week, Caden still hadn't recovered from gastro bug so pulled some pretty hard nights with the sleeping or lack of :(
SAffi - I haven't tried cake, but I think I am a bit conservative when it comes to food. My SIL was saying she had given her kids sausage by now, but I haven't given DS anything like that yet. I just think all the crap in them can't be good for him at the mo, but it would be nice to lighten up a little I guess! :) I spose moderation is the key, try a little bit and see how they react?
Trinity - our party plans are in full swing as well, it is a double with my mums 60th and Caden's first, so it should be a hoot! We are hiring a hall and I am in cake-making mode and invite mode at present.
Pish - poor DH! I hear they are awful
Becky - I hope Chels picks up soon. Hopefully they only lasted five days as you said.
Nickers - yeah we were in TTC thread! How cool. At least we can catch up more here
Well, as for us, not much happening except birthday planning and return to work planning. I actually do one day a week, and maybe one and a half days, but in October will be going back 3 days. Have others returned to work or planning to? How did you feel and cope with it? I am nervous, but also looking forward to it. It will be hard because my hours are weird and I work 100 km away, but hopefully only for 6 or so months until we move closer to my work.
Better go get these invites sorted, chat soon!
PS thanks for the warm welcome
-
Hey Dragonbub - just saw you're in Perth. We have another Perth girl in the thread so I'm sure she'd be happy to have a someone on that side of the country.
I'm a bit conservative too when it comes to food too, but we have tried sausages. L is in daycare 4 days a week so they just feed him whatever is on the menu for the day (they provide meals). At first I was a bit upset about it but then that is the sacrifice I have to make to have him there. I am sure if it were up to me I'd still be feeding him farex.
I've been back at work for 5 months. Started back full time as DH took leave to care for L and then used some leave and worked 3 days while we waited to build up L's days at childcare. I have now settled on a permanent arrangement of 4 days a week. I was a mess on my first day back and cried whenever anyone looked at me. I find I cope by being organised. The bottles are made up the night before, the breakfast dishes are laid out ready for the morning, etc. I've even stocked up the fridge at work with breakfast and lunch options so I don't have to worry about skipping breakfast or buying and expensive lunch. You'll settle into an arrangement that works for you. My advice tho would be to start Caden in whatever care you've arranged a week or so before you go back to work. That way you'll both start to get used to it before you go back and it won't be so emotional when the big day comes.
Anyway L's awake so got to go.
-
Trish had m/s from 8-16weeks with Maddi & we got Phil a GPS system(he's always getting lost).
What did the boys get Cam for fathers day?
Saffi it's going to be mostly family, dont really have any friends with kids yet.
Phil's dad has 9 siblings & most of them are coming with thier kids so guess it will be big.
So glad i'm not having it here lol.
Love all the new pics of everyones kids, they have grown up so much!
-
Hi everyone! Its been a little while but I see everybody is doing all sorts of different things.
Saffi- what about natural food colourings for the cake. Caitlyn has had cake but no icing or anything, she did have a bit of my tim tam the other day though. Little miss piggy! Caitlyn has had sausages. Skin off she loves them! We are trying all sorts of stuff now....mum and dad food. she has spag bog quite a bit when i get the time to make it.
Dragonbub- I returned tow ork 25 per week three months after C was born. then not so long ago I went to 32.5 a week, Now I am fulltime but have the luxury of being able to work from home.
I think if DH worked regular hours it wouldnt be so bad but our house is absolute chaos come 5 when i get C from daycare (oh how i wish they supplied meals!!). But at least i can do washing during the day and vacuum more regularly. its nice!
DH came home nice and early today - 11 am - but only to drop the car off, pack his bag and head to Doomadgee. I dont exactly know where it is but it is approx 6 hours drive. Of course 3 came around and daycare called me to go get Caitlyn. She had a temp of 39. I got there thinking, yeah right, last time they called and said she had a high temp i got her home and it was normal. But noooo this time it was high. So panadol, tepid bath, cuddles, attempt at dinner/bottle (no go) and more cuddles and off to bed. her temp has come down a lot. Will see how she goes overnight. It could just be her tooth i guess - its taking a LONG time to come through.
Oh and the big news (drum roll please.............) shes crawling!!! Only a little but she gets the idea now!! YAY she isn't just a blob anymore!!! She is pulling herself up too.....but pretty much only when she is in the bath!! Grrr gotta stop that!
Anyway I really HAVE to get away from this computer - am in front of it all day long and just can't stand the thought of spending my night in front of it too.
Hope you are all going well!!
MWAH

Oh i mean to edit but since i'm here....
i wanted to ask abou feeds.....Caitlyn had 2 bottles yesterday...one at 6 am, one at 12 noon and then nothing until 10 this morning. Well she has solids but no bottle. Gone from 4-5 a day to that!!! Anyone else have bubs "weaning them selves off bottle"??
-
pregnancy warnings:
nerida: i dreamt you got knocked up... so beware... bewaaaaare.
i also dreamt someone else was pregnant with twins... but i can't remember and i don't want to spook anyone until i can remember exactly who it was.
sppppoooooky.
we're doing well over here. i'm sure james has said 'ap-ple' and 'duck-ie' when i've given those things to him... but like everything he says, it's not that clear and i might just be hearing it that way. standing more and more by himself now - just waiting for him to take a step.
i'm busy with stuff round here so don't get on so much.
hope you're all doing well...
-
Viv maybe it's Ange, she's had pretty bad m/s this time.
Rebecca M's on to 3 bottles a day now, she has when wakes, one around 2-4pm & one around bed time.
She's also dropped how much she has in a bottles now she has 120-180mls now.
That being said she also has a kiddy drink bottle with water she drinks during the day, plus her solids.
Congrats on C crawling :D
-
Thanks saffi and Rebecca, I already have bub in family day care once a week at present cos I do some casual work for a friend. At first I was worried about it, but now am SO glad I did it because it was a HUGE transition for me, and I just can't imagine going back to work 3 days per week "cold turkey" so to speak. I know it will still be hard, but at least I know Caden is ok with a lovely lady and can be left there and will be safe. Luckily she provides meals so it is mainly breakfast and bottles (EBM) that I need to organise the night before. It looks as if I will be working mon, wed, fri, which will be harder to work, but easier at home knowing I have the next day off :)
Saffi - who is the other lady from Perth?
Rebecca, sorry to hear about Caitlyn. A 39 temp is high for teething? Maybe an ear infection? Apparently these may coincide with teething and can get confused. Hopefully she cheers up soon.
Ninja - LOL about your dream. I am sure it isn't me as we are definitely NOT trying! About half the ladies I know with bubs around our age are trying now though, which has certainly made me think  but no, no more babies for the mo.
Well, am supposed to be getting ready for work so better go!
-
Viv - ACCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!! ANother baby..... Plesae not me....... lol. Love my babies to absaloute bits but trust me, 1 teething and 1 in the terrible two's is moooooore than enough!!!! :)
Rebecca - Chels is having 3 bottles a day still. One when she wakes up, 1 about 4pm and 1 just before bed. While she has had the measles and been a bit sooky though she hasnt wanted to eat and has been having 4 bottles. Im sure if C wanted more she would tell you, she sounds healthy enough!
Thanks to everyone who asked about Chels!
She is on the mend!! Rash has nearly all cleared up and she hasnt been sick any more. She is still a little grumpy and not quite herself but apart from that she is fine. Grrrrrr though..... Liam woke up this morning and had only been up for 10 minutes or so when he spewed everywhere!! And now I see a faint red rash on his cheeks. Dont tell me he is getting it!!!! Not sure yet, it could just be a heat rash as that is the only place I have seen it as yet but.......
Liam got immuised against it at 1 but apparantly until they have had their booster shot at 4, it is not really 100%.
In other news, I have started Liam at daycare 1 day a week again. Will see how he goes this time......
Hope everyone is well and all bubbas are being good!
-
what are the boob-feeders down to now?
j doesn't seem to want to give up on it. for a while there he did 4 a day but he seems to have upped it again recently.
-
Hi everyone...
another quick visit...computer still broken....hate life without the net...sad!
Max is really wizzing around now. Been struggling a bit with his night wake ups....doesn't want to resettle in the cot, just fights me and sits himself up with his 'uppy uppy' arms. I end up bringing him to my bed, but I really dont want to go down that road. He treats me like a milk bar. Demanding! Viv, M doesnt want to give it up either, so am trying to drop a feed at a time during the day. I did it today, but yesterday he yelled at me till I gave it up! I swear he's got me so sussed!
I hope everyone is going well....i miss everyone in my cyber life!!!!
-
Hey all!
I am loving this warm weather in Melbourne today! I actually hung our washing outside, hooray :cheer:. DH & I have been together for 10 years today, awww...We met just after I turned 21, he took me for a surfing lesson at Cape Woolami (Phillip Island) and we hooked up from that day. We've had lots of fun surfing trips over the years, only stopping when we had Joel. Can't wait until we can take our boys out in the surf! I reckon Joel's old enough this year to get up on a board (with our help LOL).
K now claps on cue when I sing "If you're happy and you know it" LOL! He does two claps, just like you are supposed to! I'm so happy to have a bub that is interested in music, Joel has never got into it. It's so hard for me who used to sing and who sings constantly around the house, I want someone to join in with me!
Viv - K is still on 4 feeds a day, but they are so short now. Sometimes he'll only feed for a minute or two. I miss our long snuggles when I had an excuse to sit down! Man I hope your twins dream isn't about me, eek!
Becky - I'm glad Chelsea is on the mend, but poor Liam! I hope he doesn't have the measles too. That's great he is going to daycare one day a week again, I can't remember why he stopped last time?
Rebecca - Congrats on Caitlyn crawling! What a clever girl! I love her food face on your ticker LOL!
Mo - A GPS is a great pressie, I'd love to get one! Man, I can't believe how many siblings Phil's dad has!!! Where are you holding Maddi's party?
Saffi - 1kg of choccies, mmmm....I LOVE the new pic of L in your ticker, he is growing up! He's such a little looker too, look out ladies ;).
Pish - I'm glad your DH's colonoscopy was no drama, I'd hate to get one done! I hope he is OK.
Hi to everyone I've missed!
ETA - Hi Julia! I've been wondering where you've been! I hope the night wake ups stop soon and you get some good rest.
-
Viv - where are you on the Coast so I can come down and wash your mouth out with soap! Are you known as being particularly intutitive? As long as its not me with the twins LOL.
Dragon - Minimax (Julia) is the other west coaster. Thats good that you already have him in family daycare. It will make it so much easier when you do have to increase the days.
Trish - thanks for noticing L's photo. We think he is gorgeous but then we are biased. I have that photo by my desk at work and get distracted all the time looking at it. DH did leave the choccies at his work and they were gone by the end of the day. Good move! Congrats on your "anniversary".
Rebecca - we are on 3-4 bottles a day (one in the morning, one at lunchtime and one late afternoon or at bedtime depending on afternoon nap wake up time). Also noticed that the amount he has per bottle is decreasing. Congrats on C crawling. You'll find soon enough she will be tearing around the house getting into everything and you'll look back with fondness the time when she was stationary.
Becky - I hope L isn't getting the measles but to be honest I would be very surprised if he didn't get it.
Mo - my DH got a Sat Nav for Fathers Day too.
Gloat time: L is getting better with his night sleeps. Last night was 8pm - 6am and after a quick dummy check got another 45 mins out of him. He went to bed tonight at 7pm so hopeful I will get another good night out of him.
L's now high fiving, waving when we say hello, and claps with one hand flat and the other in a fist. His words are bub-bub and Dada and I swear he says yeah. Like you Viv, sometimes I just think he says something but can't be sure.
Thinking we might put the Sat Nav to use on Sunday and go for a drive somewhere.
Have a good weekend.
-

Hi Everyone,
Sounds like all the bubs are doing well.
Congrats to all those who are walking. Wow how exciting. No turning back now.
Ethan is doing well. He is still whingy on Wednesdays after being with Nana for 2 days but thats ok. He is standing up a lot now and I don't think it will be long before he is walking. We are down to 2 bottles a day and lots of food now. The chn said that we can start putting him on cows milk when we feel we are ready.
As I sit here dh is playing with Ethan while he has the vacuum cleaner on. Trying to cure him of his phobia. I think he should just leave it alone but hey who am I to say.
Great work to those bubs who are enjoying swimming lessons. We started last week and Ethan loved it until he had to get dunked. Now he doesn't even like the bath. I suppose he will get used to it.
Anyway, better go rescue my little man from his father.
-
Hey ladies......
Don't know if you all remember me but it's Amelia here!!
Hope your all going well and I can see that all your lil bubs have all grown up so much and are all so cute!!
Rhys is nor 11 months and has all 8 teeth and cutting his 1st year molures. He is crawling all over the joint and only takes steps between the furniture at the moment and I don't think he will be walking before his birthday!!
He was a big bubba and weighed 10kg at his 4 month check up and has stayed at 10.98 for the past 2 months. Stopped booby feeding about 6 weeks ago and is full cream cows milk!! And loves it too!!
Well I am going to go back a couple of threads and catch up abit.
-Amelia.
-
oh hey amelia. how are you :)
how weird that we both havent posted for so long and all of a sudden BAM, both of us post on the same day
-
I think the twins is me so your all no to worry!! My mum went to a physic the other year and got everything right with my dad passing away and she went again the other month and was told that when he read Rhys' photo that there are twins very close to him so unfortunately it is me!! Don't get me wrong I definitely want more but not just yet!! He read within 6 months we will be pregnant and I definitely don't want to be pregnant till at least this time next year!!
-
get your contraception out amelia....
-
Yeah I have already and we are using condoms as well cause I don't want to take any risks!! Lol
