Monkey - sorry to hear about your dramas *hugs*. My DH was made redundant in December - Christmas Eve! It is not nice, and the payout doesn't go far. Perhaps there might be some additional compensation due to the extent of you moving? Might we worth talking to someone?
Nickers - kids can get up to such mischief can't they? I am glad he got away with just a shiner.
As for us, not much going on. Having a good weekend tho so far, had another look at "our block" that we want to put an offer in on and we still like it. Fingers crossed in the next few weeks we will be block owners...
DRAGONBUB - DH is going back to his old job cause they haven't replaced him as yet and have offered a pay rise which is even better. He worked/s for Star Track Express and they have a depot here in Mackay and they have a truck that hhas to go back to Brisbane for auction so DH is driving it back for FREE and FREE fuel too!! Better then paying $2k like we payed to get here.
Amelia that's great it wont cost you anything to move back home.
DB- Hope you get the block of land you want, sounds like a great area to raise your children.
Nic- So glad Ty wasn't seriously hurt. Must of been so scary for you.
Tiff-Not long till May now. Glad things are getting better for you now & poor Tiera cutting all those teeth so quickly.
Amber-How are going? I've missed you & hope now your comp is back you'll be posting more
Trish-How are things going with you?
Kaz-I hope you had a great birthday & the kids & Bruno spoiled you rotten!
Julia-How was your trip?
Saffi-Hope you, L & your little bundle are doing well. Have you got a named picked out yet?
Kellie & Willow hope you are your little ones are doing well.
AFU-Maddi is still giving us attitude but i think the necklace is helping her. She's actually calmed down a bit since she started wearing it.
Cookie is doing really well, she's gained 450g since leaving hossy, So i must be doing everything right with the b/fing!
Hi all.....BACK! (Mo you're really onto it!) Doesn't look like there's much to catch up on....COME ON GIRLIES!! Come back and spill your guts'! I'll BBL once my ten tonne of washing is finished with!
Well what a crappy week and its not ending I seem to be stuck in a big black sleepless hole that is not getting any better! Myles is feral, I cant seem to teach him to sleep all night, especially in a gentle way cause we dont do controlled crying or tough love, but its driving me insane! It makes me look like a bad mum and that letting your kid scream is the only way! I am desperate!
so I am putting in my order now for bub 2 to be a great sleeper! And an angel! What do you think my chances are hahaha! ZERO! lol!
Sorry for the downer am so over it sad lonely and defeated
Big hugs Amber. You sound exhausted you poor thing . I hope Myles settles down at night for you soon. How are you putting him down at night atm (eg. what's your usual routine)? What normally gets him to sleep? I'll try to put my head together with yours and try and find a lovely gentle way to settle him that works for you both.
Julia - I love your new ticker pic of Max, he's so cute!
Mo - WTG on Cookie's weight gain! You are doing a brilliant job
Amelia - That's awful about your DH's job . But it's awesome that he has another job to fall back on and how fantastic that it won't cost you anything to move! It's such a pain packing and moving though, and being pregnant must make it SO much harder.
Dragonbub - I hope you get that block, you sound so in love with it!
Nic - Thanks for the congrats . Wow, the pressure from you MIL really is on for you to have a girl next! Oh well, I have just proven it's not impossible . And to be even more encouraging, we didn't even sway for a girl, we just got lucky! Gosh, how scary about Tyron's accident! That would have scared the life out of me, I'm glad he's OK.
Tiff - Great to hear from you! I've been wondering where you've been. Sounds like things have been really full-on for you lately.
Not too much going on with me, I've been having fun buying pink clothes of course! I took the boys to a play centre this morning to catch up with a friend and K got soooo tired. He fell asleep in his stroller on the way back to the car and didn't wake up when I put him in his car seat! I put him in bed when we got home and he is still out to it over an hour later. He must have been exhausted!
I've been singing "Rock-a-bye Your Bear" to him lately and he now puts his finger to his mouth and says "shhh, shhh, shhh" when we get to that part, it's so cute! He absolutely loves music, he'll turn the stereo on and sit in front of it for ages rocking, clicking and looking through CD covers .
Trish, Thanks hun! It must be so fun buying girls clothes! I am so hoping we have a girl! Ok Myles sleeping habits where to start!!!!
Ok so we have dinner around 5:30 -6 then he has a bath, into our bedroom to be dressed which has happend since day one! Then we go outside to the lounge and he has a warm bottle of milk usually while watching the simpson so bad i know but at least he drink his milk, then he will want a breast feed when he is sleepy aso I will feed him and he will get sleepy or fall asleep, then he is into his big bed in our room as we cosleep! He will sleep some nights till after DH leaves which is usally midnight but that is a rarity. So when he wakes up he will whinge a bit , I have tried just patting him back to lseep but it doesnt work! And by this stage i am exhausted. So he comes into bed with me and has a breast feed sometimes for ages and i will try to roll him over and he screams! Its so hard! I am so tired to read books like the no cry sleep solution and they dont seem to cater for families like us! Argh i am at my wits end!
Sorry for the mammoth post! i have probably forgotten something! Oh yeah he is a terible sleeper!
Amber - sorry to hear that you are having probs with Mr M. Don't have any ideas for you as we have never co-slept and never BF to sleep beyond the very early days. I read the No cry sleep solution too - didn't think much of it TBH. Nic - good to hear that Ty is only bruised. Things that seemed immovable only days ago these tots can now move with great ease. Every day L comes up with a new bruise somewhere. Trish - I haven't been out buying lots of pink stuff yet. I did up an inventory of all L's grown out of clothes so I need to see what else I need for those early days.
How cute K sings along with you. L only needs to hear the In the Night Garden Music and he draws a circle on his hand with his finger. So cute!! Mo - yeah going well. Thanks for asking. We have decided on a first name and narrowing down the first and second middle names. Amelia - sounds like everything's going to work out for you both. How's your pregnancy going?
Hello to everyone I've missed.
AFM, actually I have been getting terrible indigestion for the last couple of days. Its like I am having a heart attack. I never experienced it with L so I can only hope that this is just a growth spurt and she will move down soon. Started taking antacid tablets but anyone got any swear by remedies?
Saffi I had shocking heartburn with Myles it would keep me up all night! I ended up using zantac but i have heard fruti tingle lollies help! I am hoping myles iwll start to sleep better soon! Thanks x
Amber I really feel for you, been there & done that with Maddi so many times.
The thing that worked for her was to wrap her nice & tightly. I would un-wrap her when i put her back in her cot but she usually sleep right through the night.
It was the only thing that worked when i moved her from my bed to the cot.
I Hope you find something that works for you both very very soon.
Saffi-Fruit Tingles worked great for me, Also milk & cutting back on all things citrus.
lol Amber fruit tingles work really well
Trish- I love buying girl clothes, they have some of the cutest outfits out now.
Don't forget to buy headbands, they can really make an outfit!
its not a stupid question Amelia We tried that when he was little and he just wants boob So it kinda makes it hard to try to offer nayhting else he just gets hysterical! I have tried letting him cry oonce but couldnt do it! I still wantt o co sleep but just would prefer him to not wake up so much lol! Thanks babex
Mo I dont think he would let me wrap him, I couldnt even wrap him when he first came home! Argh! What to do!
Saffi - Ugh, I hate heartburn! I have suffered with it for years (I have a hiatus hernia) and got it really bad with this pregnancy in the first tri. I use Mylanta which works really well for me. If you're having really bad chest pain, try sipping a fizzy drink to make you burp, this always helps me get a little relief (I used to get chest pain so bad I couldn't move or breathe deeply, mum would always run off to get me a fizzy drink ). Stay away from caffeine (I'm sure you already are), tomato-based foods, citrus fruits, etc. Make sure you have an early-ish dinner so it has time to digest before you lie down to go to sleep at night. If it's giving you hell in bed, prop yourself up with pillows so you're not lying down flat. Hope that gives you some ideas
Amber - So does Myles sleep on a seperate mattress/bed when he first goes to bed at night? Or do you put him straight into your bed? (Sorry, just trying to get a picture!) Does he go to sleep by himself at first if he hasn't fallen asleep during his bottle? What time are you putting him to bed? Do you want to stop the o'night feeds? Would he respond if you are firm with him (I don't mean being heartless!) and say "No feeding, it's time for sleep now, go back to sleep". I agree with Saffi re: the No Cry Sleep Solution book. I read it when having probs with K and it wasn't much help at all for us sadly, it definitely doesn't have any fast solutions. But do read it by all means when you are feeling up to it. Oh, and don't write him off as a terrible sleeper! Some bubs just need a little guidance from mum to become a great sleeper .
Mo - Oooh, headbands! I don't have any yet LOL! *makes mental list for next shopping spree...*
Don't worry Amber you will find something that works for you both & being pregnant wont be helping how you feel. It wasn't too long ago i felt the same way you did it will get better i promise.
Also Maddi hated being wrapped, but now she'll come to me with a blanket & lay in the middle happily if she wants to be wrapped.
I find she usually wants to be wrapped if she's over-tired or just wants that feeling of being of hugged.
I know some ppl swear against them but when we were trying to get Rhys to sleep through and putting into his cot from the cradle we used a dummy just to soothe him. He never wanted it during the day or anything just night sleeping and it was a god send!! Have you tried that Amber?? Might be your last resort before the controlled crying...god lets hope it doesn't get to that tho.
Trish he is in his own big bed first and if he wakes before DH goes to work he goes back in there! I have tried to be frim with him and tell him no it was workign but this past week he just seems to have become the devil child lol! He is asleep by about 7 ish. i was bathing and trying to put him straight to bed but the carryon was unbarebale so this way is alot calmer iykwim.
Amelia Myles would never take a dummy! We didnt want him to have one but after 6 months of no sleep we tried them and he would spit them out and grab for boob!
Mo so glad i am not alone!
