Hey Trish, your Christmas sounds great. First time we had stayed home this year and like you guys, we just enjoyed spending the day together and watching the girls enjoy their presents. Our favourite is seeing Tay on the gimungus trampoline, she runs around the edge and resembles an emu ... sticking her head out, priceless. We all sit on it and the kids bounce around us, whilst DH and I have goal shooting comps. Who would have thought we could have so much fun ... :woot:!
I am with you about New Years .. we have no plans and I think DH is pretty adament on keeping it that way. I am seriously unphased about the whole thing and will not care to be sound asleep when the clock strikes midnight tomorrow night. I am sure there will be plenty of party people to make up for my lack of party spirit!
Babies name is all sorted Trish ... if you know me well you would know my name, we have had the same one picked since I was pregnant with Mia. But on the flipside, you only have just under 6 weeks until you get to find out as well. I was only thinking that by the time next payday hits (we are paid monthly), I will have less than three weeks to go before the baby arrives. Scary!
Hope everyone is well, so quiet in here of late. Busy mummies I am guessing x
-
Just popping on quickly, we got home yesterday had a nice trip & it was great finally meeting my little nephew.
The girls got spoil rotten & Phil even got me a beautiful necklace.
On the downside my Mum no longer remembers who i am, which is very upsetting. She only know of me as a friend who sees her once a week :(
1 more thing Kodi is now standing for a few seconds by herself, She's even trying to get to the standing position from the floor.
Will bbl once the girls are asleep.
-
Happy New Year girls ... I hope that you have a fantastic night and that 2010 brings you lots of love, happiness and great health!
-
Mo - glad to have you back in vic. Glad you had a great trip home, sorry to hear about your mum, so sad. Look forward to hearing more from you soon. Chat later x
-
Hello everone
Mo- yay for Kodi standing. She'll be walking before you know it. Sorry to hear about your Mum.
Kaz - I think there'd be a few peope in here wishing for better health in 2010 (you included LOL
Trish - we actually packed away some toys this week. So far L hasn't noticed they're gone.
Just saw the most beautiful thing. L saw our next door neighbour Charlie (2yo) on his deck. L runs out and yells "hello Charlie" and waves. Charlie then waves back. Its moments like these that I really love.
No plans for NYE here. If I make it to midnight and I'm still awake I'll be very surprised. Mind you I might be awake having to feed M.
Here's hoping for a safe and prosperous 2010 and I hope all your dreams and resolutions come true.
-
OK, so its some ungodly hour and I cannot sleep. I am in so much pain, my hips and lower back are killing me. I have just had my second bath for the night and popped my second lot of pain meds. It is so hot and stuffy in my house, which is only adding to my discomfort. On a positive front we are now in 2010 and only really have this month of Jan to go until the bubs arrives. So I am hoping when I go see my doctor on Monday, we can rediscuss bringing baby v into the world a bit earlier as I really cannot handle this pain and lack of sleep anymore. Worst case scenario, I have 5 weeks and 3 days to go, best cast scenario they bring bubs on a week earlier on the 1st or 3rd of Feb and I have 4 weeks and 3 days or 4 weeks and 5 days to go. I am becoming a bit focused on that 4 week mark, as seriously seriously just want to get my body back to some kind of normal.
Anyway I am going to open the back doors and hopefully cool this house down a bit. Only doing it cause my DH is in bed with Tay to try and give me as much SPACE as possible to rest. So off to do that and attempt again to get some rest. I am sure you are all getting sick of my whinging ... I am so not a good pregnant person and I think I could be more rational about it all if I could just sleep! Argh!
Happy New Years girls, promise in 2010 (after the baby is born) I will keep my whinging to a minimum  xxx
-
Happy New Year everyone!
Trish - no names picked yet, nothing has really jumped out at me! Any suggestions on what goes well with Tahlia!
Mo - woo hoo on Kodi standing by herself, she'll be running around in no time! Sorry to hear about your mum
Kaz - hopefully its only a 4 week wait for you then, you poor thing!
AFU - Tahlia is going well, been very spolit this week as DH and I have been home from work so we have done heaps of stuff, zoo Monday, park Tuesday, pool Wednesday and friends over yesterday.
I am going well too, getting pretty tired but thats to be expected I guess! And I hate being pregnant in this heat! Bubs is moving around lots which is nice too!
Hope everyone else is well!
-
Our holiday was good, it was so nice spending Christmas with my sister, niece & nephews.
We had a pretty good drive, both girls did better than we thought, tho next time we will most likely fly. Much less stressful!.
We never made it to QLD as Phil's step grandpa passed away Dec 22nd from cancer. At least he isn't in pain anymore.
Maddi is my little parrot, she's always telling Kodi "In a minute" when K wants her toy & "Kodi be a good girl". She basically replaces Maddi with Kodi it's quite funny hearing her talk to Kodi in the same way i talk to her.
K is doing great no more shaking episodes & is growing up way to fast. I can't believe she'll be 1 in 3 months.
As for my Mum it's heartbreaking that she doesn't remember me, i called the nursing home on Christmas day & she keep saying she has no daughters etc... I spent most of Christmas night crying.
I knew it would happen, but you just can't imagine how much it hurts till it happens.
Kellie, Sounds like you have had a ball this week. I know what you mean by being pregnant in the heat. I hated it with Kodi.
Kaz i hope your feeling better today. FIngers crossed that the Dr's bring baby V into the world a week earlier for you.
Saffi how is Immi doing? Is L loving being a big brother?
Trish hope you guys are having a lovely time away.
Amber, Willow, Julia, Tiff & anyone else i missed i hope your doing well
-
Mo - I can only imagine how you must be feeling. No consolation to say at least your Mum is not aware.
L loves being a big brother I think. He is very attentive towards M and gives her kisses and cuddles. L is being a parrot too. He is copying a lot of whay DH says. Its so funny.
M is going well. She's almost 5 months and we intend to start solids at 6 months. No teeth as yet. Still not a great sleeper and her night sleeps have regressed lately. I'm wondering if I should do some sleep training with her. With any luck she'll be starting daycare in March and I am wondering if I should have some kind of sleep routine established by then.

Hi Girls
Sorry I've been IMA
Christmas as you know went well, but I found out boxing day that a friend of mine from school passed away on Christmas Eve from a heart attack (she had a heart condition and pacemaker). Saddest thing is that she had a little boy who will only be 2 this year. It breaks my heart that she doesn't get to witness the joys we get to witness :(
We went to Kuala lumpur for New Years...very quick and sudden decision. We left on Thursday, the day I got another cold! So NYE night I stayed in the hotel room, coughing and spluttering with a very tired little monkey.....did wake up for some fireworks though! We met up with some perth friends there too. It was so nice to have some familiarity from home! Max was really good till he caught my cold and now he's coughing, spluttering and spewing up the plegm he keeps swallowing! Arrrrgh! There's my whinge....don't feel bad Kaz!!
Mo I'm really sorry to hear about your Mum. I don't understand personally, but I know my dad went through the same thing with his dad. My granddad thought my dad was his brother. My dad really loved his dad. It was very sad for him. Hugs babe. Cant' believe K is going to be 1 in 3 months. That is completely nutso! Max is a parrot too....but more with manners than anything....everything is "no thank you, yes please, bless you" and if he sneezes and I say bless you, he says "thanks"! I wanna eat him up...STILL :)
Kellie What kinds of names do you like, old fashioned? Modern? What names DON'T you like....give us something to work with :) Can a prize go to the winner!!!!! :)
Kaz Hang in there Honey....you've come so far with all this pain and suffering! You can do it :)
Saffi Shoulda, woulda, coulda! M will get there with her sleeps. Unless it's a megga deal for you, I wouldn't fix it just coz of day care! But hey, that's just me :P
Well, gotta go....Im sick of having the cricket on in the background with DH asleep in front of it! Take care and Happy New Year to every single one of you!!! xo
-
Mo - hugs to you, must be very hard. My mum is going through the same thing with her mother at the moment too, its very sad
Saffi - I agree with Julia, I wouldnt do sleep training cause of child care but its up to you! I did sleep training with Tahlia and it all went in one ear and out the other anyway! This time around I am just going to follow my instincts and do what I think is right, not what everyone else tells me is right!
Julia - sorry to hear your feeling sick. The prize for the winner can be bragging right... lol! Don't really have a preference for old fashioned or modern, just want something that has only one spelling (I remember years of correcting kelly) and is relatively easy to say. So far we like Ryan, Logan, Lewis and Wade, but we're not 100% convinced on any of them. Have you got any names picked?
-
Kellie We've got Abigail, Tabitha, Madeleine, Jemima and Darcie (madeleine winning for me ATM) but I think it will be a wait and see kind of thing! I think I'm going to have my grandmothers name as the middle name which is Eladia (spanish so it's said Elathia). For some reason I just keep thinking of Matthew for you....weird!
For round 2 of boys names for us, we had Jacob, Felix, and Angus....with my Dad's name Robert as middle name!
Naming a kid is a tough gig!
-
I like Madeline too!
Not sure about Matthew though... prob when I said I didnt have many preferences I should have said I didnt really want a 'traditional' name.. does that make sense?
-
hmmmmmmm Let me get cracking!!! :)
-
Julia/Kellie - I like Madeleine too. In fact thats M's middle name. I like Darcie as well and kinda like Jemima tho I also think of Jemima Puddleduck.
Kellie - you could always go with Lachlan LOL.
Julia - sorry to hear about your friend. That is so sad. Hope you and Max get better soon.
As for sleep training, the thought had occured to me that daycare could do it. It doesn't bother me too much atm cos she is generally a good sleeper at night. Its just that I can't predict when or how long she's going to sleep and therefore am really limited with what I can do. Also she likes to sleep in my arms and wakes when I put her down and not easily settled again. This sees me stuck on the couch a lot of the time too scared to move.
I am thinking about giving her a teething rusk to suck/chew on. I think she is ready to try solids but would prefer to hold off until 6 months.
-
Im home yay! Will come back later and catch up!
Julia...I love Abigail :)
Kellie I love Lewis!
Ok will bbl  xxxx
-
Kellie i liked Hunter, Tristan & Hayden & Phil really liked the name Rid****.
I know i liked a few other boys name i just can't remember them.
Julia from those names i love Abigail :)
-
Oh the great baby name debate ... we have ours sorted, yay!
I am now having my c section on the 1st of Feb, it was organised yesterday. Yay. I will be 38 weeks and 2 days. They are actually quite sympathetic to my pain, lack of sleep and inability to do much at all ... which is good for me!
Other than that had a great nights sleep last night and it feels so gooooooooood to finally sleep. Heading to Monash this afternoon for a sizing scan, so hopefully will get a good look at my little man.
Hope you guys are all well xx
-
kaz - great that you now have a date. Just a few more weeks to wait and then it will be over. Excellent date BTW - its my birthday LOL
-
haha, cool saffi ... its also my nephews (the only other boy in the grandchildren) so its a bit special all around!
quick update as I had my sizing scan today. The lady got us a bit stressed out as I asked if all was ok and she said no, I am worried about the size of babies legs. She said I just need to check something out. She went out of the room for a while and come back. She said he has short legs, and a large head but they are both just within range. Talk about worrying. I know he has 4 weeks to go and get into proportion, so trying to put it out of my mind. She said she is sure it will be fine, but asked if it has been brought up with my other scans, which it hasn't. Baby is also now breech, which is no big deal consideirng I am already having a c-section. He is sitting at about 2.5 kgs which is a good size for a 34'weekers. Well 35 weeks, as like I thought I am about a week ahead of those dates. Ultrasound was quite painful today, not sure if its because of the my muscles are stretched and stuff or what. Anyway, not long to go ... less than 4 weeks!
I will be so glad when this pregnancy is over, its been a tough one with lots of bumps along the way. I just want to hold my perfect baby in my arms, which I know he is going to be!
-
Hi everyone!
Saffi - Lachlan was actually on our list when we had tahlia! Might have to add it back on to this list too!
amber - Lewis is my fave too, but DH doesnt really like it :wall:
Kaz - how exciting that you have a date! Have you got anyone planned to do your BA?
Hi to everyone else!
We are taking Tahlia to see hi-5 tomorrow... I'm looking forward to it cause she is so excited. Not looking forward to the 40 degree temps forecast, being pregnant in this heat is not agreeing with me!
-
Kellie - No one planned to do the BA, hadn't thought that far ahead! Probably should, so if anyone is offering :)
We are going to hi-5 later in the month, must check that date come to think of it. Let me know what it is like ... we are going in Dandenong!
-
Kaz - I'd love to do it, should I PM you my mobile number? Hi-5 were excellent, Tahlia loved it, didnt stop dancing from the start to the finish!
-
Yeah do that Kellie and I will reply with mine!
I am glad Hi-5 were good and it sounds like Tahlia had a blast. We are going on the 23rd of January I found out today. My friend has booked the tickets, so that is why I was not sure of the date!
So I got a phone call from Monash before and they have moved my c-section to the 28th of January. Apparently the first couple of months of the year are pretty messy with theatre and the 28th works better for them. I was a bit shocked, as it means I have 3 weeks to go today. It will make me 37 weeks and 5 days when I deliver now, so I am hoping Baby V is cooked enough!
-
Kaz - will do! 28th jan - wow! Thats exciting, that means this month!!!!! I'm sure bub will be cooked enough!
-
Wow Kaz not long to go now, I'm sure bubba V will cooked to perfection but if not at least your in the best hospital the south east has to offer.
We will have to catch up one day soon :)
Kellie sounds T had a great time at Hi-5, we are waiting for the wiggles to do another tour, M is absolutely obsessed with them at the moment.
Amber thanks for the txt msgs, your such a wonderful a friend. I think if we lived closer we could of been great friends xx
Not much happening here, It's only 10 weeks till Kodi's 1st birthday, so i'm trying to think of a theme for her. I want some really girly for her.
M is doing well, she had another ear infection so we have to go back in 2 weeks to make sure her ears fully healing between ear infections but other than that she's doing great :)
-
Kaz wow you ahve your date set! How exciting!
Mo your most welcome hun! Thats what I am here for! I have been really slack when Flynn was born keeping in touch and it was not nice so am trying to be better :)
Well will be back later...DH is still on holidays so am trying to spend as much time wiht him as possibel! Miss you all xxxx
-
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been in here for a while, it's been so busy! We had a lovely time away in Inverloch, the boys loved the beach. We stayed down there with DH's uncle, his uncle's girlfriend and her daughter (who is my age). They were lovely people and Joel was in love with the two ladies LOL! The daughter is an actress who has been in lots of ads on TV, the one I remember her in is the Philadelphia light cream cheese ad, she was the first angel LOL! It was very interesting getting to know her :)
K has changed so much now he can converse with us, he's such a funny little man! He's putting together some long sentences - he was playing with a toy bus and said "Mummy, the bus hit me!" DH and I were very impressed . It's great because now he can tell on Joel and I know exactly what Joel's been up to when I'm not in the same room .
Alana has been sleeping pretty dodgily at night recently so I'm feeling pretty tired. I'd give anything for a full night's sleep right now! Oh well, I guess that's what you get when you have babies :)
We're planning a 5 or 6 week caravaning trip over to WA in September/October (we think!), hopefully it won't be too crazy with the 3 kids! I was born in Perth and half my rellies still live over there, I haven't been over there since I was 14 :o. It will be great to see them all again, my Granddad turns 100 this year so hopefully he'll still be around when we get over there.
I'd better run, I'm so sorry for the lack of personals, but I don't have enough time atm. I've been reading all of your posts and are thinking of you all .
Have a great day :D
-
Its sooooooo hot, I am hanging for the cool change today. Not much news here. My baby had its first bout of hiccups last night, weird feeling. He has also been really active, which is reassuring. I am not sure he is breech anymore or if he ever was? The hiccups felt like his head was down, and the kicks I am getting are really high .. unless they are more like punches? I have no idea. I have an appointment next week, we might get a better idea then. It does not really make a difference any which way, since I am having a c section.
16 sleeps to go girls .. woohoo! He better be baked enough, that is my biggest concern at the moment.
Sorry for no personals, too hot to be sitting in front of the computer. Hope you are all coping as best as possible.
xx
-
Hello............... anyone out there????
kaz - 16 sleeps but who's counting??. I'm sure he will be "baked" perfectly. I love those hiccups.
Trish - you're game going on such a long caravan trip, but it does sound good. I've never been to WA (really must go sometime).
Julia - how'd the scan go?
Hello to everyone!
We are going well. Weighed M yesterday and she is now 7.28kg. This puts her around the 75th percentile for weight so a chubby bubby.
M had some photos done with one of those shopping centre photographers yesteray. The shots I saw look so good. I can't wait until they are ready to be picked up next month. They were the first professional photos we've had taken of her. Thinking I should get some of L and of both of them. Maybe not....
L is good. His vocab is expanding all the time and he is now talking about things that he did (like going for a walk to the shops with DH). DH says that L was dreaming about dinosaurs last night........
Hope all of you in the southern states are surviving the hot weather.
-
Hi all! Man it's hot!! Luckily it doesn't look like it will reach the forecast 40 degrees today. Come on cool change, we need you!!
All is going well with us. DH took K to the physio today to get his legs checked. They are still quite bowed, we were told they should straighten by the age of two, but only his left leg has slightly straightened. I started a thread asking if anyone knows about bow legs, but it looks like they don't LOL! We are getting a referal to see an orthopedic surgeon at the Children's, hopefully he won't need anything drastic done.
Poor K got stung by a bee yesterday :(. Luckily he got over it pretty quickly, but it was so awful.
Saffi - I hope you post the photos on FB when you get them back! It's so cute when they start conversing with you isn't it? They say the cutest things :)
Kaz - Thinking of you in this heat!! Not long to go now, I'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear the good news (and the name!)!
Amber - How are you and your cute boys going?
Mo - Poor Maddi has had such a bad run of luck with infections :(. I hope she has a nice clear run of health from now on! I can't believe it's nearly K's 1st birthday :o
Kellie - I hope you're coping in this awful heat!
Julia - Have you had your scan yet? I'm dying to hear about it!!
Hi to everyone else :hello:, hope you all have a great day :D
-
:hello: lovely ladies!!!
I am so sorry it has been sooooooooo long since I was in here last but dear oh dear it has been busy here! I have found myself working a lot more than we all expected I'd need to, but thats ok, it make the time go faster.
Trish - Poor K getting stung by that nasty bee, I've never been stung by a bee so I don't know what it feels like but it sounds horrible and I think I'd cry if T got stung. I wish you all the best with your app with the O Surgeon. Does it take a long time to get into places like that down there? Hopefully they don't have to do anything too invasive to fix the prob.
To all of you sweltering through these hot hot days I really do feel for each and everyone of you especially those of you UTD, its not nice! I worked on Saturday (which was extremely hot up here) stripping and making beds, cleaning cabins and it was horrible! Thankfully we have a little cafe at the park during the peak time so I got a slurpee the moment I was done! It is not cool only having about 10 people to clean over 40 cabins in one morning!!!!
I hope you and your little people are all happy and well and enjoying all the summer festivities.
-
hi all.....sorry for being mia but i here now. just quickly tho......
trish - my nephew has a bowed leg, he is 3 next month. he has to wear a brace to bed on his foot/leg and also special soles in his shoes. his leg was 30 degrees out at 18 months old and his check up just before xmas he was only 10 degrees out of being perfectly straight. so no surgery or anyhing for him, just a long process thats all.
julia - yay for a girl!!
cant remember who suggested the name hunter for someone but that is my other nephews name....we call him hunter thr grunter cause he was snoring just after birth.
-
:hello: girls, hope you are all well. It has been really quiet in here! I just have an update in regards to when Baby V will arrive ... frustrating ...
So I have had a few issues with the hospital that I am meant to be giving birth at. I was scheduled for my c section on the 8th of Feb, then they brought me forward to to the 1st because of my pain with my pelvic instability. That was all good. Then I get a phone call a week or so ago to move my date again, scheduling issues at the hospital and this made it better for them! So they moved me to the 28th of Jan, even better. Then yesterday I get a phone call telling me the list has now been cancelled on the 28th and they are moving me to the 3rd of Feb. I cracked it and said no way, we have people coming from interstate, my husband and MIL have already changed their holidays twice ... you can't keep changing it. I also said isn't the 3rd list full (as I had tried to deliver that day) and she is like yes you will be an emergency! I said put me back to the 1st then, when I was originally put in and she said that list if full and I would be an emergency. So I said to her what if I stay on the 28th, she said you would be an emergency! I am like, so why bother changing me, every date you are giving me I am an emergency anyway? So that means I have to go to the hospital at 6am and if they have not had time to do my c section before 8pm that night the baby won't be born until 'most likely' the following day! I am really unhappy. I rang the doctor back later in the day as I was really stressed out about it and explained my situation to her rationally, apologised for being short with her and she said that is ok, we are just trying to do what is right for everyone and you sound like you really want that date. I was like its not a matter of that, but more that you guys keeps giving me a new date which I might not even be able to have the baby on anyway! So annoying. So I have a new date for now, but that might change. We are keeping it quiet because I don't want to have to tell everyone a new date every time they change it on me. So keep your eyes out, we will post on facebook once bubs is born ... and I will let Kellie know she she can do my announcement on here as well.
It all feels a bit too hard at the moment. Maybe Baby V will make a move to come into the world by himself ... you never know!
-
hi ladies,
Kaz - What a stuff about! I too would have got a bit cranky. Hopefully they don't change you about again. I'll be keeping an eye out towards the end of the month for your birth announcment!
:hello: everyone hope all is well.
-
Kaz that is total rubbish!
They've put you as an 'emergency' because of your pain....so surely the EARLIER the better (as long as bubs is cooked :))! Why not change and faff around with the elective c-sections that have no issues along side them.....pffttttt!
Hope it all works out OK
HI everyone else! Hope you are all well....just a quick update....
Had my scan the other day and all went really well. Definitely cooking a pink one and everything is growing nicely. My placenta is low and JUSt clear of the cervix...phew! Happily plodding along getting bigger!
Singa's is going well now, not feeling as blergh about it. I still miss Charlie too much though! I'm going home in a week for a friends wedding...and will be there for a week so catching up with the MG girls and as many friends as I can. Then I'm back there in March and then April! Time is flying! I'll have a baby in a minute I bet!
Trish How did K go at the physio? I checked out your FB pics too....your family is so gorgeous!
Amelia How you going with Rhys now and keeping Harri up?
Pish I can't believe how far your ticker has ticked all of a sudden! Wowzers! :)
Big hugs to everyone xo
-
Hi everyone
Kaz - how frustrating! I hate how you have to get stroppy for something to happen. Look forward to seeing your BA!
Julia - good to know that your little bump is still pink. Have you settled on a name yet?
Hi everyone else
As for us - Lochie is now in his big bed! He slept in it at nap time yesterday and again overnight and is in it now for today's nap. We haven't put a bed rail up yet, but as his bed has a trundle bed we rolled that out in case he fell out, which he did. Didn't seem to worry him tho. He even stayed in his room this morning until 7am when he came into our room. We are so proud and amazed at how easy the transition has been so far.
So now we have to get M's room ready for her. Bought some pink paint to cover the blue feature wall and we'll paint it next weekend. It only taken us 6 months to get her room organised!
-
hey girls, its been quiet. just a quick one to say hi and hope you are all traveling well. i just had a bath as a bit uncomfy tonight. went out for a pre-baby dinner and ending up with a really intense back pain. followed by shooting pains in my belly, the baby moving around like crazy, a foot poking out my right side, pains in my vag (sorry tmi) and a very slight siting of blood when i went to the loo earlier. so i am not sure if this is a sign my body is doing something or what is going on? we decided to wait the night out, try and get some sleep and see what the morning bring. back ache has eased off and no more blood, so maybe it is ok and just one of those things!
other than that not much happening. determined to get some sleep though, so going ot mosey along. i have mia in bed with me, she has been really clingy with me for some reason. maybe she has an inkling something is happening? but it is very unlike her to want to be with me and get so upset when she can't like she has been since this afternoon.
chat later girls x
-
ooohhh Kaz, maybe something is happening!
Trish, Mo, Kaz (anyone else?) - are you planning on going to the Melbourne meetup on Saturday?
-
Kellie i'm not sure, at this it's more of a no but that may change.
Kaz hope you got a good nights sleep or at least some rest.
We caught up with Ange the other day & Lu is so beautiful. M & L had the best time playing together.
Little Sassi is too cute, I got heaps of cuddles from her & she is such a happy baby always smiling and laughing. K & S ate about half a kilo of sand between them lol
Other than that everything else is the same.
Hope everyone is well :)
