So is it a book? Will go have a look! He has also started to wee on the floor? I caught him today in the lounge room pulling his pants down an weeing  He knows how to use the toilet...I dont understand? Maybe he really does have to go to kindy...maybe he is bored here with us?
so whats the jungle like??? Hope your staying away from those tropical diseases:P
Business plan is kaput lol! We could not see it working so we are staying in Brisbane...I think it will be a good thing...family close by and that way when we holiday at the beach it is a holiday and not just another day :)
-
Yep a book. Also a parenting course you can do. Thomas Phelan is the author.
Have you had any major upheavals that might be upsetting him? Suddenly wee'ing on the floor seems unusual. Do you get out of the house a bit? Seems like you guys are always doing something? Could all just be part of the testing three's though? Lu is learning just how to push my buttons lately. I felt really at my wits end and out of control until i read this book a couple of weeks ago.
Jungle is good. A little lonely at times. I have friends, but they are mostly older and without kids. The one person close to my age with young kids is a total cow and does things like organise coffee and invite everyone except me. So i try and ignore her. :p I have a great friend but she lives 2 and half hours drive away! That's who we went away with last weekend and we are heading down to see them again this weekend. It's good to get off the 'farm'.
Bummer on the business plan. I read your other thread but was on my phone. I think you should do the course. Take it day by day and if it doesn't work out you can always drop out. But if you really want to do it then do it then you should give it a crack. Things sound a bit stressful for you atm.
-
Maddi is a real drama queen & he throws the biggest tanties. It gets a little embarrassing sometimes but then she is soooo good other times. She always uses her manners so at least i'm doing one thing right lol
Ange do your 2 fight a lot? K & M don't fight that much but when they do it's a real B**ch fight.
Hair pulling, throwing each other on the ground, biting, kicking & hitting.
K is like S a real easy going personality but if you take something off her she'll let you know she's not happy about it.
Amber i think you should do the course as well :)
-
Amber, you aren't alone with the behavior thing. Max is nuts at the mo, and I was at the end of my tether with it ( then today of all days I realized why..... Af arrived!!)
Poop d is awake, bbl xx
-
Thanks girls!
Ange thats what I thought has something upset him but there really is not anything different? I am trying to dedicate one day a week for just him and I so we can just hang out hopefully that will help. Bummer wbout the lady who is a cow....you really should come live in QLD I promise I am not a cow :P
Jules omg that was me last month I could not for the life work out why I was so angry with the kids and then *hello* Af arrived for the first time since F was born!
Mo Am glad we dont have tantsy as such! there is a bit of crying going on at everything at the moment *sigh* x
-
AF sure picked her timing, but it explained so much. I was tired, felt soooooo fat, and so so angry. Max was copping it, and his whinging and 'no' answers and 'I can'ts' were getting to me so much more than normal. It was not pretty!

Hey guys! Sorry for not chatting sooner, I'm so flat out atm. I'm getting a new website for RNR and it is almost finished (yay!) so I've been busy organising that as well as adding more stock (it is so time consuming!). I've also branched into selling factory seconds sposies so I'm really making myself work for it LOL! Like I don't have enough to do .
Amber - That whingy voice *sigh* I know it so well. K is the worlds biggest whinger LOL! When he's over tired he's an absolute shocker.
Mo - I'm so glad you got to see a heartbeat! Here's hoping for smooth sailing from now on in :)
JM - Sorry you feel lonely at times . I have those days and I live in the 'burbs! I can't believe that chick excludes you! Her loss for sure ;)
Yules - How's the move going?
AFM - I'm in so much pain atm :(. My pelvis is totally screwed and it's also put my hips out. I have constant sciatica and just horrible pain all 'round. I'm seeing a chiro regularly again, so hopefully I can get back on top of things.
K is LOVING kinder :D. He has a couple of friends he hangs out with and he has so much fun. He feels so grown up, nawww... J is doing well in grade 1, his teacher loves him and raved about him at our parent/teacher interview, it makes me feel so proud :). Alana is great. She's such an independent one that we're having lots of tanties atm! But she's such a bright little button, she knows how things work. The MCHN was very impressed with her speech and said she speaks better than most 2 year olds! I love my kids, I feel so lucky! (Sorry for such a soppy post haha!)
I hope everyone's well, I'd better run and get more stuff done. Talk to you all soon!
-
Saw the Ob again & Bambi has a very healthy & strong HB :D
The only downside i'm suffering from a really bad morning sickness, Ob said i'm starting to get dehydrated & if i keep going the way i am i'll end up in hossy.
I'm really hope it backs off soon I'm so over it!
-
That's great news about Bambi Mo! Not so good about the MS though . How many weeks are you now? Did you get bad MS with the girls? I get boy vibes about Bambi ;)
I forgot to say Hi to Becky when I posted the other day . Hi Becky! It's great to hear from you again :D. Sorry you have to deal with cancer :(. It must be so hard knowing you'll be apart from your kids for a little while .
Not much to report here. I've got kinder duty tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing K in action! Alana will be coming along too, I reckon she'll love it. She is saying new things all the time still. Today she learned to say "monkey" and when I was changing her dirty nappy she said "Yuck, it stinks!" haha! I cracked up laughing at her so she said "Hi five!" and gave me a hi five . She's such a character.
I've got a friend helping me on Wednesday to take photos for the new website homepage. Hopefully the new site will be live by the end of the week, then I'll show it off to you all!
Hope you all have a great night :D
-
Not this bad Trish, I'm thinking Bambi is a boy but i'm always wrong lol
I'm 8w5d :D
Have fun at Kinder duty i did it last week & Kodi had a blast there :D
-
:leap: Yay Mo so glad everything is ok! But bummer about the ms :(
Trish whats kinder duty? and hope you have fun! Looking forward to seeing your site when it is up and running!
Well I am in a real crappy spot at the moment! I am feeling very lonely and now I am thinking it is time to put M into kindy :( Everyone seems to have thier kids in some sort of care that I know and I just wish I had a group of friends who would meet once a week to chat and catch up and the kids could play....I am not ready to let Myles go yet and I seem like I am the only one who feels this way :( I know he will love it but I worry he will be picked on or the teachers will be mean to him....does that feeling ever go away :(
Then we are tryijng to find a new house and that is the most depressing thing ever...I have no one to talk to but you guys sorry :( I feel so alone and have tried so many times to reach out but it always ends up with me comforting my friends and helping them through stuff :(
sorry girls I should not dump all this on you, you all have much more to worry about than me  xx
-
Amber chicky i sent you a message on FB.
Our Kinder lets the parents stay if they want, i think you need to call a few places up go visit them.
Get to know the teachers etc..
You may feel better seeing how the kinder session is run & Myles is old enough now that if someone was being mean to him he would let you know.
Yes the feeling goes away when you see how happy they are & when your kid goes running up to their fav teacher :)
Kinder Duty is where you help out in the Kinder for the session, cut the fruit, clean up, help the kids etc...
-
Amber, you poor chicken. I know the exact feeling and I know others who are the same. Kinder is not compulsory and gave a few friends who think that their kids will be at school long enough so want to keep them home until they have to go. If was in Aus I don't know if if send Lu or not, I would feel much like you do, although she does drive me crazy daily! Lol
I totally sympathize in the playing thing. I wish we had a playgroup or a weekly mothers group here. It's hard not having that support. We try and have a bit of a schedule and I find that helps, like swimming one day and playground another few days. Craft two mornings if I can be bothered!
If you can't whinge in here where can you whinge???? Please don't feel bad about it.
-
Yeah babe, don't feel bad. Max doesn't go to Kindy either, although I think he needs to. I don't think I'm enough for him now. He needs more stimulation and activities than I have up my sleeve, plus Darcie would love a day sleep he doesn't wake her from.
Still no Internet here, on my temperamental phone.
Mo yay for Bambi!
Hi everyone else too, Trish, ange, xx

Hi all
Don't seem to find the time to pop in here as often as I used to. Life is just so busy doing the same old things.
Becky - So sorry to hear about the cancer. I guessed something was wrong from FB but wasn't sure what. It will be tough to be away from your babies, but you need to have the treatment.
Amber - I have a different perspective on kindy/daycare etc as you know my kids have been going since they were very young. I do think that there comes a point when mummy (or daddy) isn't enough for them and they need external stimulation and experiences. I know that my kids have learned so much more than I could ever provide them. Also, I have never come across a childcare worker who is mean to children. Childcare is a calling that you really have to want to work in as the pay is so bad. And as for other children picking on him - I think there is something to learning how to be resilient, learning how to deal with conflict and learning to get along with different people. Anyway, that's my opinion so tell me to get back in my box if I've crossed the line. But I can also appreciate wanting to keep your boys close for as long as possible.
Mo - yay for Bambi. I reckon you're carrying a boy too. Are you going to find out and will you be telling us?
Jules - drumming lessons!
Hi to Trish, Ange and everyone else.
-
Saffi I totally get what your saying and agree with most of it...but I do know of mean childcare workers :( Even the one centre I went to have a look at one little boy was walking around crying and not one teacher comforted him, in my mind that is mean :( We are still searching so hopefully the right one comes up and he feels safe secure and respected.
JM  You must really feel it being so far away I dont know how you cope
Mo our kindy doesnt actually start till next year for M...well I can send him to a childcare centre but to send him to a kindy it wont be till next year. How are you feeling?
Yules Tell me why you moved to the UK and not Brisbane again :P Maxy and M would get along so well!
Still house hunting sigh and trying to find a childcare for M :( I am thiking it might be easier to run away and join the circus...I am sure he will learn alot there :P
-
I didn't know that, Personally i wouldn't send my girls to childcare. Maddi went a few times & hated it there.
Maybe it was too many kids not enough teachers, maybe it was just the centre she went to, i don't know but in the end we weren't happy so i took her out.
If you feel M isn't happy in childcare you can take him out, it doesn't hurt to try.
I guess i like Kinder better because it's only short session, parents are welcome to stay & help out.
At the end of the day you'll make the right choice for you both
Saffi not sure if we will find out, i'm kinda torn on that one. If we do find out yes i will be telling you guys :D
-
 thanks mo thats what i am unusre of I dont really want to be spending $66 a day for him to go for maybe 5 hours ....I just dont know what to do :(
-
My short experience with Childcare was bad too Boomba. I went to gym and put the kids in their childcare. I came back to find 8 month old Sas alone and crying hysterically in a walker. Luella crying at the gate and two workers having a cup of tea!
You'll find the right place. Have you looked at a montesori or Steiner playgroup or childcare? I think that would really suit you guys.
Toddlers are hard work, it's so draining. But before you know it they both be at school and we'll be wondering what to do with our selves.
-
It's hard but you know him best & if you truly think childcare is what he needs then do it but if you feel you both aren't really ready then wait a year & just send him to kinder.
Honestly if Maddi hadn't go into 3yr old kinder she would still be at home till next year.
Ange that is so horrible poor L & S.
-
 OH Ange I had that same experience with Myles when he was about 1 in a gym creche broke my heart ,maybe thats why i am a bit hesitant? there is a montesori child care near my mum but no stiener ones I dont think...may have to do a bit more research.
the government is just starting to re introduce kindys I dont know why they let child care take over in the first place :(
-
A friend goes to Montessori playgroup. Both her kids are welcome at the same session. They have some structured stuff, do some cooking or craft and a story but mostly they just play. It's all based around very gentle and natural philosophies. I'm not sure it's the best thing for schooling, but it's a wonderful nurturing environment for toddlers. You should check it out. Even if it's a playgroup and not childcare, ie. You stay it would be a nice break and good to socialise with other mums.
-
Ange that sounds really nice, i would love to send the girls to one but we don't have any local to us.
-
I was going to suggest playgroup too Amber - that might be another option for you this year? One of the mums I made friends with when Joel was at kinder has a DD the same age as K (her last baby). She isn't sending her to 3 year old kinder this year, instead she has joined a playgroup and each week she also takes her to Mainly Music which is run by a local church. That way her DD is still learning and socialising and it gives mum a chance to do the same!
Hi everyone BBL, got to run off to the chiro soon!
-
Sorry I mentioned anything.
-
Saffi i have nothing against childcare, if we both worked then my both my girls would be in Childcare.
I just haven't had good experiences with childcare, Your really lucky you found a great one that both your kids love.
I really didn't mean to hurt your feelings & i'm sorry
-
 OH saffi hun I am glad you gave me your pov its good to get all angles! I am just not a fan of childcare...its not for me or the boys but it is for some.
-
I didn't mean to offend anyone either! Sorry Saffi!
Like amber says it is good to hear everyones pov and experience. The majority of my friends have kids in childcare or kinder and I certainly don't think any different of them.
It's awesome you've had only good experiences.
I'm sorry if I upset you.
-
Hey everyone
I'm having a bad day. Maybe its the heat, maybe its the mountain of washing and ironing waiting for me, maybe its the preschooler who insists I turn the TV on every few minutes. Anyway, everyone needs to do what is best for them.
Going to take my moody self off somewhere and cheer up.
-
Awww, big hugs for you Saffi . Sorry you are having a bad day :(. Sounds like you need a chance to have some rest and crack out the chocolate (mmmm...chocolate...), you deserve it .
-
Trish when will your new webpage for your site go live?
-
I'm not sure yet Mo! It was meant to take place this week, but it has been delayed because I needed to get some good photos taken for the homepage. Luckily a friend helped me out yesterday and I've forwarded them on to the graphic designer - she is working on them today so hopefully she and the developer can come up with with a date. The site will be offline for a day or two while the developer gets it all ready. I'll let you know once it's all ready to go :D
-
Saffi hope you had a better day today.
Trish that is so exciting. Saw some of the FB pics & Alana look so much like you.
Has she kept her blue eyes like you wanted?
Kodi ended up with green eyes.
-
Ooh, love the new avvy Mo! Gorgeous!! I can't see the resemblance with Alana and I! Her eyes have gone a hazel colour now, no blue eyed baby any more :(. They're still gorgeous though ;)
-
Trish when i look at Alana i can see you the same way when i look at the boys i see Cam :D
Thanks :) Sterla did an awesome job with it. I love seeing what the ladies come up with trying to stick with the alice in wonderland theme.
-
Hi loves
Just chiming in on the child care front. I do agree with you saffi, childcare, is like a calling! I know coz I was going to do it. I do think though, like mums, it's a very unappreciated and under respected job, and as you say, the pay is bad, and that can't make anyone feel good about their career. Also unfortunately, I guess the kids would cop a bitof the wrath of the frustration, like my kids do when I'm fed up..... Which is a lot lately!
Amber, you will find what you're looking for. I believe and know that I'm not enough for max now. I am sad, but I know he has to go. I'm scared he will be picked on, but he has to learn too. The world isn't all sugar and rosepetals and if kids don't realize this from a fairly early age, then I think it would be harder for them in the future. Don't know about in qld but in Perth Kindy isn't compulsory, and if we were still there, max wouldn't be starting till next year. He is starting here in September as that is when his school year starts. I figure 3 months shy of when he would be starting isn't too bad. He starts reception, which is paid for by the government here. I just have to get him into the one I found! There are so many kids here, I think the people are bored!!!
Ange, I know exactly how lonely you feel too. Being an expat is a tough gig. Here I don't feel as much of one coz I 'fit in' better I guess. I have made a couple of friends, but it's hard to break in to something when a place is small and everyone knows everyone. I'll always be that Aussie chick! I also know where I'd rather be!
Sigh..... Love youse all!!

Hi everyone!
Just logged in as I was stalking a BA.
Haven't got time to read back, but thought I'd pop in to say hi!
Oh, and congrats to mo!!
-
Popping in to say Hi.
M/S is still here but it's so much better than it was & Miss K will be 2 on Monday :O
She has grown up so much & she has such fiery personality now.
As for Maddi i'm so proud of her she is starting to get out of the horrible 3yr old stage & she has become a beautiful little soul.
She has been such a great help & she is so caring. Last week before i was admitted to hospital i was really sick & couldn't stop throwing up, She was there rubbing my back & telling me it would be ok.
She even made sure she packed up all toys after she finished playing with them. It really amazes how much she has changed.
We still have the occasional moments of tanties but you have to expect that.
I hope everyone is well & for Amber.

Hi guys,
wow its been forever since i looked in this thread and didnt realise how active it still was!
How are you all?

Tyron is having some speech therapy atm, he is at preschool 2 days a week. going greatexep for the last 2 weeks he has screamed when youare leaving.... they say within 5min he is fine so i hope its short lived it makes u feel horrible having to leave them like that.
