Belfie - yeah, pretty hectic at the moment, and Zander has decided to shake his routine just to confuse me so I am just trying to get his rhythm back, which means 2 days stay at home days for me to get his feeding/sleeping pattern right. He decided over the weekend he wanted to snack all day and we were in and about so I did, which meant not enough hindmilk (fat) so sleep cycles were short and then lots of windy screaming and vicious circle! So, I am expressing the next two days and giving him bottle to make sure he gets a balance of fore/hind milk and have had a win today - he is just stirring and has been asleep again for 2 hours - fingers crossed for a good night - otherwise you will find me institutionalised somewhere .............. hope your Xander is behaving himself - bugger about the epi - my tear and scar feels good thank goodness ....
curl - hi hun, hope you and your family are doing well too. It sure is busy, I try so hard to check in on here, and then something happens just as I am about to post ... I am going to continue to try, all I can do at the moment!

here's a quick question (with the bonus of "bumping" us!). Anyone know if nasal sprays are safe to take with breastfeeding? I have a streaming head cold and the pharmacist assured me that the Sudafed 12 hr nasal spray was safe to take... but I'm sceptical! Anyone else know?
Belfie, poor you! I feel for you I really do. That dreaded flu I picked up at the hospital visits wrecked havoc over my entire family and I was the only one not able to take anything. I was told in the past that nasal sprays are okay to use but I'm always sceptical too. My understanding is that nasal sprays are safe while breastfeeding. If you're uncertain ask another chemist or google the company that makes sudafed for more info. Ummm, I think.... mothersafe might have some info too, worth a shot perhaps.
I have a daughter who is almost 9. My boys are 5.5y, 3y and 7wks!
Good question about the car. We are looking at getting a 4x4 or ppl mover. We are waiting on some money!
I wasnt around in the pregnancy thread as I was busy moving back from the UK to Brisbane. I flew in at 32wks pregnant so as you can imagine getting settled and ready for giving birth with a toddler in tow took priority over the internet!
Well Xavier was born on due date 28th Sept at 02:10 in the morning. I had a very quick labour 2hrs and 10 mins. Only just made it to hospital as the first hour I was not in any pain. I delivered him in 10 mins with just gas and air to push him out.
I had no stitches and recovered very quickly.
He weighed 3.6kg at birth and was 320g over birth weight by 10days.
He has just has his 2mth vaccinations and is sleeping hence getting a chance to type and his sister Erykah who is now 3.5yrs old is in daycare (she was born here in victoria)
He weighs 5.9kgs today and although he has reflux it has been controlled from him being 4wks old with Zantac. He is a very sicky baby though it is getting better (fingers crossed) when he is sick it is a whole chuck and change clothes for me and him! Took time to get my head around that as my daughter wasnt a sicky baby.
He sleeps well at night though I am still up twice in the night to feed him. I get about 4hrs sleep out of him at the longest stretch but I think my body is used to it this time round as I do not feel anywhere near as tired.
I have a demi pair for 3 months to help with my DD and the housework but I am finding this a hindrance rather than a help so will not be continuing with this after the 3 months are up. Long story.
I am struggling to know what to dress him in here in Brisbane as I am so hot not being used to the humid heat and I find I am going out and people have their babies all wrapped up and I have him in a little singlet and his nappy. I have started to put him into a full sleepsuit at night as I think he is waking due to being cold. I have 2 gro bags on their way from the UK (they are much cheaper over there) so I hope this helps they are 0.5tog ones which will help with him kicking off his covers.
Well I will shut up now as I have gone from sitting in the background to my life history in one go.
