Kerry - Hope your trip is going well. I see that is so cold down there, we were boiling hot yesterday, had 37 last week and it's pretty cool this morning :rolleyes:. As for flying, for some reason as soon as Bella gets her seatbelt on and the plane takes off she thinks it's sleep time LOL. Other than that when she was awake a bit we let her play with stuff out of the plane seat like the plastic covered menu thing, her toys didn't take her interest LOL.

Erin - eeeep you might be the next bun in the oven then hey. cluck cluck cluck...

Niamh - I see on FB that you do so much campaigning I bet it's taking a toll on you. mmm, another chook on the cluck hey ;).

Well nothing new with us.. Have had a really bad back and have been struggling to look after Bella. She was so clingy last week I thought my back was going to break.
Still only 5 teeth and no sign of any more. She is walking around the furniture now and doing a few little stunts with her walker toys :rolleyes:. My heart is always in my throat but no huge stacks, yet...

well, well Missymoo congrats and good luck with that little girl...it was only a little while ago i asked the ??? maybe I helped:lol: I think it is easy to get pregnant when you are'nt trying!!!! also when people ask you and when your bubs are at that cute stage or lots of people around you get pregannt for have newborns. (just my thoughts anyway)

Dh got the snip, no big deal, had an involutry test that night:shakehead:while sleeping sorry if that is tooo much info and then tested himself a few days later apparently is working fine:redface: me just not interested, so the poor boy had to test himself.

Captain feeling good, abit of MS still in the avro probablly becasue I am tired, daylight savings is great but... always a problem with the kids getting into the swing of things.

Lee glad everyhting is going so well, I am looking forward to looking pregnant instead of too many cream cakes look.... am bigger than other pregancies so won't be long..Spring cleaning, early nesting... I am hiring a cleaner, too much effort to do it myself!!! :rolleyes:

Suzie, hope your back is better and you're able to take it easy. Matthew kills my back too when he's being clingy, especially when we're out shopping or somewhere and he takes an active dislike to being in his stroller...

Niamh, I've been following the campaign a little on FB - good on you! I hope it makes a difference!

Tenille, that's a great suggestion about the purse and photos. Will definitely try that and the activity bag. Will need plenty of tricks up the sleeve because when Matthew starts lunging about, I'm hard pressed to hold him. Wow at Ashlyn getting molars through! Is she drooling heaps as well? Matthew is drooling so much, I've been checking to see if there's new bumps (much to his delight, because he loves to chomp down on fingers :p) or food lodged in his mouth... I'm jealous that you're getting good sleeps at night, too! Matthew sleeps no longer than 5-6 hours at the beginning of the night and then he wakes up every two or so hours for feeds. I'm exhausted all the time.

Back from Canberra - brrr, it was cold there! Didn't get to spend as much time with DP as I'd hoped but we got to see Matthew take his first steps on his own, which was brilliant. And DP got some special time with DS. I really hope I can swing a teaching job in Canberra (or near to) next year for all our sakes.

cheekyfrog Thanks its really hotting up now as we get nearer to the budget date lots to do its scary what ahead in Ireland now mas immigration is on the cards for many. we had a huge brain drain in the 80's another on the way now.

Pam good luck let us know how you get on, reading your post is making me laugh, we are finished our family but I was updating my chart and adding in when I had AF last I miscalculated I thought I had my AF the 26th of September and we had fun last Sunday the 4th and Tuesday 6th wasn't thinking about it and DH normally uses extra protection we were lax stupid may be:redface::redface: but we did not this time but I should of still have been ok. but I had AF on the 23rd so slap bang in my fertile time. by my normal calculations and signs I ov on the 8th so I guess I will know why if AF is late feel like a tool but calmer than I though I would be and I will worry and think about it when the time comes. I am still breastfeeding and it may effect my fertility. lord Im not even going to think any more on it shhhhhh its a secret ok LOL

Nicambhar what did I say on FB tha has given me away of being cluky LOL may be I missed that my self, its a good busy feel I am making a difference hopefully a good one for children here in Ireland how are you all OK now I hope :)

Was supposed to go to Griffith today for haircuts (me and DS) and shop for an outfit to wear to my brother's wedding at the end of the month but then I remembered that Matthew was booked in to have his 12 month immunisation needles. So postponed trip to Griffith to tomorrow, only to find that the community health centre wasn't open. Would have been nice to have got a call to let me know, although I suppose I should have double checked. Was very cranky! Whinge over!

Okay, better try to get Matthew to have a nap, he's very tired.

I have to say I don't recommended having a baby over 40 :redface: OMG the stress is enormous if things go the way they did for me . Unfortunately it is very common in my age group, so don't do it!!!!:lol:well at least not if you are stresshead anyway... I am so thankful that thigns are going to be okay, but am feeling a mix of emotions as well elation and then depressed, after the rollercoaster ride,very relieved,still a little nervous, they say 2 weeks after amnio there is risk f MC so am taking it very easy...Dh has the rest of the week off work.
Those who are interested amnio was'nt bad first needle p***k was fine second into uterus was a bit more OUCHY but still fine;) all up a couple of minutes so more than bearable, had a strange sensation like someone was untwisting my belly button from inside, must be where the needle entered refered pain or something . FISH results were back less than 24 hours later, these are accurate for 4 abnormalities.... downs was my risk area, my other risks are the same as anyone else, full results are back in 2 weeks but no-one including myself expects there to be any problems, basically would be in the same catorgory as anyone else until full results come through, the best thing is we then know we won't be the 1: in whatever risk factor for sure and also know it is a little girl so its on to reading name books, she is getting a name picked sooner than later . I like Hannah which Kerry suggested but it sounds a bit funny with Hilditch???
At the 20 week scan they will look for a heart defect, if there is one which I doubt :shakehead: it will be minor maybe a hole in the heart etc. Although the heart scan the other day and everythign was doing the right thing, I really think the guy who did the first measuremnet got it a bit wrong and the measurements at my sneaky second scan where right.
Anyway off now... sorry no personals, will be back next week, still resting with feet up as much as possible:lol:

Managed to achieve haircuts (for me and Matthew), shoes (for me and Matthew) and clothes for wedding (for me and Matthew) and ended our Griffith odyssey with immunisation needles (Matthew unhappy from the start and screamed to the finish) - big day! Will keep a close eye on him - have been feeling worried due to the anti-vaxx campaigning of BB friends and in the BB forums.

Okay Kerry you will have to give me the dates. I was hoping you might be staying outer suburbs somewhere... darn.....I don't go inner city too much and usually without the car when I do???? I would love to meet you and am sure the chance won't come around anytime soon.:rolleyes:
Imms will be fine, he has had them all before so won't be an issue..I have to say I was a bit worried, but it was all good, thought it was over until 4 years and then discovered 18month still to go. Next year will be starting all over again:pray: just hate the thought of getting a newborn done and most of it will happen over winter!!!!

Pam, we'll be in Melbourne this week - arriving Thursday 22nd and leaving Monday morning 26th. Back to work Monday and dreading it!! It's been heaps fun (99.99 per cent of the time) being with Matthew all day every day the past two weeks. Such a funny little character and giving lots of kisses and cuddles now.

:doh: Kerry I think it will too hard this time, I am really trying to take it easy after the amnio and that is still in my 2 week time frame, so I really hope they will be another opp :pray:

Kerry, have a good week in Melbourne, a GPS would be a godsend!! AFM, been sick with gastro for 5 days, must have lost 5kgs, but am on the mend. Bub's is doing well, another BIG one my Ob tells me, so no change there! Am really feeling PREGNANT this time, bub no. 5, am told the more you have the more you feel it, and that is so true. I've slowed right down, it's painful walking around much, so am getting ready/nesting now just in case this bub puts in an early appearance! Hope you are all doing well, Lee xo

Hi everyone. Full results are back our baby girl is healthy :Dso no more tests for me, just our normal 20 week scan and thats it. Yay!!!! of to buy lots of cute baby girl clothes. DH gave me the nod ;) he is working overtime this weekend so we can afford it.

Melbourne was great, although Matthew was super clingy and would scream if anyone tried to cuddle him. Very strange! I guess it was the large number of strangers about but he's never been like that before. He also started walking much more and much further than before. He was so tired today he had a two and a half hour morning nap at the sitters. I'm exhausted too. Hope to have an early night tonight. :p

Pam - Congrats on the great test results. yay on the baby shopping. I have some baby rattles for your bub. My friend thought she was having a girl and gave birth to a strapping little boy (10 pounder) yesterday so your baby has lucked out :) Just let me know what stuff you need and I will either send it to you or bring it down for a visit :) I have some stuff that I washed and Molly never actually wore and some other stuff that is still in great condition. When are you due again?

Kerry- Molly is doing the same thing with strangers all of a sudden. Next time if you are down here and have time we should all catch up.

Molly hasn't been well here. She has a snotty nose and some nights has a temp to match. It isn't the first time that she been sick but the first time she has had temps so it was a little worrying. She is such a good kid. Even when she is sick she is still pretty happy.

Still no walking here and if you try and encourage her she will just stop, drop and roll. :rolleyes::rolleyes::lol: Stubborn little girl I have. Stuborn from conception LMAO. The next few years promise to be challenging.

Pam, the wedding was fantastic. They were so lucky with the weather. It was cold but it was sunny and not too windy. I've discovered the joys of trying to keep a toddler occupied. OMG. I had to do a reading at the wedding and luckily he went to my mother okay. He is the ultimate cling on and just wants to be on the go all the time.

Jo, I am in awe that you got yourself to England on your own with DS and DD. Hope the jetlag eases soon and you all get a good night's sleep.

Went to a barbecue this evening and lasted, oh, an hour... Spent that hour following Matthew around and around the garden, pulling him out of danger and no go areas. He would not sit still. Very busy little pimple. Was stressing and then the final straw was when I noticed he's been bitten, probably by some little ants. Took him home, bunged him into a cool bath, counted 22 bites, fed him and he went to sleep straight away. I was so hungry, I could cry. Have had a glass of bubbly (have discovered the mini bottles, hurrah) and am cooking myself a steak.

How do you go out with a toddler? I'm thinking the answer is baby sitter... :p

LOL Kerry..yes a babysitter!! Or ony to place other kids are so they can entertain them for you.

We are doing well here. Miss Em has started swimming lessons with DH and after a shaking start now loves it and is the star pupil :) Or so I'm told I'm at work when they go :(
I have a spot for her in family day care next year when DH goes back to work. I'm happy with the carer and my Gf's twins are there so she'll know some kids.

Erin, I'd love to have Matthew getting swimming lessons but not available here. Mind you, he's such an unhappy fish finger! Screams as soon as he's put in the water and takes a while to settle down. Matthew has a new tooth through. I thought there were two at first, but now I think it's just the one, his first molar. He's loving his rusks again. And wet face washers. :p

Dreading the summer ahead. We've had 6 days of high 30s, low 40s and the next "cool" day (under 35 degrees) will be next Sunday or Monday. They've stopped the river flowing to our town and allowing the lake to dry up. And it's disappearing fast with this current run of high temperatures. Expected to be dry by Christmas. I'd love to get Matthew and our old dog away to somewhere cooler. Where it rains!

Its been mad here the last few days, I was walking the kids to school on Friday morning and we were crossing the road in front of the school a man stopped to let me cross on the opposite side and my eldest Adam went to cross the road a car came round the corner and hit him I lost it I thought she ran over him. but he was sent about 15 feet and landed on his face. he got up straight away and ran across the road and I was screaming he was screaming. I left the baby in the buggy with the two other boys and ran. people came from ever were, I knew he would be ok but his face looked awful and I was sure he would have a broken leg or something from were she hit him. but after a full check up in hospital he has a hair line fracture on his forehead and a very bad cut on his nose I thought it went the whole way through his nose. it didn't thank god. so now he is being spoilt rotten and the swelling has come down today so looks so much better.I feel so lucky he is ok and I felt sorry for the lady that hit him she looked awful as well and had two little boys who were very upset as were my two boys Eireann hadn't a clue and was an angel event went to a stranger for me.


Kerry all over the tummy bugs, Iain was sick with a bad throat infection but well on the med as well!

Niamh oh my goodness, so scary!!!!! and happens so easily, I am very glad he is okay, a hairline fracture is bad enough, but I bet his face hurt lots more.:shakehead: I know I have to get on Facebook I will get my eldest DD to help me set up sooooonnnn;)

Kerry.. going out is a nightmare anywhere, today we went to a friends house she has 5 and 3 years boys and lots of little toys I spent the whole time trying to barracade Poppy in and getting smalll toys out of her hands and mouth :doh:

Erin, yay for swimming lessons!!! poor Poppy is missing out big time, the others all started around 6 months....???? who knows when she will start??? I don't want her to be frightened by the water you see so many school kids who are frightened when they start lessons and don't do well for ages. Good to hear Em is the star pupil:p

Me: 20 weeks US, our bubba girl has a problem... it looks like it is something that is not connected to a syndrome or anything else but still I feel nervous, never really know for sure until she is born.. I am going for a second scan at a different place for a second opin, something we decided to do beforehand JIC, her left kidney is seriously diseased it is blocked and it is'nt something that can be repaired so it will swell in her tummy as it becomes more blocked and between the ages of 2-5 she will lose it completely it apparently dies and shrivels away??? worst case senario it will need to be surgically removed if it continues to swell and is painful??? good news is you can survive with 1 good kidney and her right one is perfect, everything else looks great, so it is a problem that stands alone, yesterday I was okay, last night I was a bit teary... today I feel worried and upset but at the same time should be thankful !!!! there is some many people out there that face bigger problems and diseases or disabilities.. I guess it is natural to feel like I am???

Anyway catch you all later my next scan is Monday, i am keeping them all seperate cause i don't want one to influenece the other ???the benefits of not having decided on a OB!!! i think I am crazy, I so hope that I'm not making a bigger problem for myself, by going this way, I just don't feel i can trust 1 person alone. I need the other input.

Well thats my cr*ppy news:pray: my miracle little miss is going to have to be a tough one, I am sure she is,:pray: I can see her being very spoilt and pampered after!!!

Oh no, your poor boy, Niamh. You must have been out of your mind with worry. Thank goodness it wasn't worse. Biggest hugs for him, he sounds like a very brave lad, and great big hugs for you too. These things happen so quickly and unfortunately way too often.

Pam, I'm glad you're going to be getting another opinion and another scan. Wish you didn't have to wait until next week though. Good to know that they think it's not part of some syndrome. Will be hoping with you that the news is somehow better for your little miracle girl next Monday. :hug: :hug: :hug:

Kerry thanks he is looking and feeling so much better today, very nervous on the roads we have to cross a few at one stage a car reversed out of a drive way and it was one of the noisey ones but when I saw it approach us I was rushing them all across the road, poor Adam freaked and ran back the way we came. so I was trying to camly explain to him not to do that ! the funny thing is the car was no were near us!time I guess! good news is the council was at the school to see what could be done to prevent it happening ever agan.

Hi all, my the time rushes by so quickly.

Bella isn't walking yet, but is taking a couple of quick steps between the furniture, so I am sure it won't be long now.. We have all had BAD gastro over the past week, Bella's is combined with teething and an ear infection, so it was so not fun.
Still haven't gotten her 12 months imms, she always seems to have something wrong preventing me from getting them.

Has everyone got their kindy booked yet, I haven't done it and just talking to some other ladies I reckon I might have missed out around this area, eeeekkkkk.. then got to find a prep, or we'll miss out there too. I kind of forget about all of this stuff, so will have to do a bit of digging around.

Kerry - hear you loud and clear on the heat. Dang it's been hot here, I wish I could up and move to tassie. Gee, that's sad that they are letting the lake dry up, spose, that's the problem with this awful drought.

Niamh - Oh gosh, my heart was in my throat reading about your DS, glad that the outcome was good. I reckon I would have fainted on the spot if I witnessed something like that.

Ezy - ooooohhh clucky chick now.... I had 16 months between my first two and then 3 yrs. preferred the 3 year gap myself... think I overloaded myself a little too much having 2 in nappies and being so demanding.. personal choice though in the end.

Donna - we get the drop and roll thing too if we try to walk Bella along and leg go of her hands, I can surely say that she is one stubborn girl, just like her mumma lol.

Pam - was sad to read about your little bubba, but let's pray a second opinion looks better, if not, she'll be a tough one alright, one of my best friends had a kidney transplant at age 35 and she's now 50 and a total success story - our bodies are amazing how they can adapt to things - but I don't blame you for being upset and worried. Let us know how you get on.

Naimh - you must have had a heart attack, thank god your little boy has bouncy bones, if he had been an adult, would probably not have fared aswell - kids have softer bones and are so much more resilient - so relieved for you all he's on the mend. Bl...dy cars!

I'm STILL here, bub's has engaged, so I'm hoping to go in a couple of weeks - really sore and tired this time around - being heavily pregnant with a toddler is very difficult, not to mention the taxi driver to the older two - I know it's probably not going to get any easier, but at least I'll be able to walk around comfortably!! Will report back in with any birth-related news when I get some!

Sue I started a thread about age gaps and now it has me more confused. A gf of mine said I think too much if I want another one have one. But I feel I need to consider it carefully. I don't want to take on more than I can handle. I know ppl say you do just handle it but given I can be a bit prone to anxiety and depression I want to know I've worked it all out!!

Well, the teeth keep coming. Matthew's now got an eye tooth through as well as a first molar. Very drooly and chewing on everything again. Beware the unsuspecting finger... :p
Also took him to get his picture taken with Santa, and a very real looking Santa he was too in Wagga, with a real white beard and eyebrows, nice deep voice, unlike last year's frosted eyebrows, fake beard and puny voiced fellow. Matthew was a real wriggle worm though so don't know if they'll be able to get a good one to send to me.

Erin, if I were your age, I'd just go for it! I'd love to be in a situation where I could try for a younger brother or sister for Matthew but barely coping as it is. Good luck with your decision making. So how many have we got now from our group who are the way to a new bub? Lee, Pam, Melissa, Lauren... Have I missed anyone? No wonder it's quiet in here now!

Thanks my lovely support group, another very through scan revealed the same results as far as my little bubs kidney, so she will be without one at some point in the near future as it appears to be barely functioning already... she has wee in her bladder so the other is working great. Everything else looks good, her brain, heart and other organs are fine, so it is isolated to the one organ, so highly unlikely to be related to a syndrome. She does have a funny shaped head though:doh: lets hope she has some hair to hide it!!!! But nothing to worry about, my DD 4 years has a similar shaped although this one appears to be more prononuced, damn, just looks a bit smaller than average.. i guess better than bigger than average???
I am off to Monash for another scan and a meeting with the genetics dept to talk about what the issues might be as far as the one kidney goes and so we are in contact with a pead kidney surgeon if it comes to it. (very glad we had our amnio done there, instead of private now)
I am 5 months preg wooo hooo, and countigng the days down, just all so stressful and nothing enjoyable about this preg so far~!!!!! ( and to think last time I was stressed)

Erin, i would say the closer age gap suited me better, i guess I was still in baby/ nappy mode and not used to sleeping a full night...I have a bit of an issue with PND /depression/ panic and have coped very well... actually better than the inbetween times.. i think your friend is right it is one of thsoe things that perhaps it will never feel like the perfect time, I say throw caution to the wind. It will be a nice gap and Emily will be old enough to understand about a new baby in your tummy etc, they say some very cute things between 2-3years and embrassing!!!!

Sue, nice to see you yuck onthe sickness, we have been so lucky...me only got a cold this winter and the kids escaped everything???? :pray:lets hope it stays that way!!!!

Kerry, more teeth!!! wow he must have a huge mouthful now...I wish you could have that baby brother or sister for Matthew..but sometimes life just thwarts us, and after all my problems would not recommended waiting this late to do it....way too:oooo stressful.

Kerry Eireann got two more on makes it 8 I think. she is very cross today BRRRRR

my DS is well on the mend after his accident back at school and loving it, not enjoying being kept in at break time but the boys are just to rough on the yard. Im worried he would have a fall and bang his head again so just incase a few more weeks in side.
Ireland is having the worst floods in 80 years loads of houses have been flooded under 8ft of water in some cases. parts of were I lived was flooded but we are up hill so advoiding it but its set to get worse the weather has turned very cold -2 to -4 at night and more rain forecasted its mental.

And another two more eye teeth through. The kid's a crocodile! Now has 12 teeth. :o

Thanks Pam, yes, it would be lovely but it's the age thing that cruels the idea for so many reasons. That, and not being in a conventional relationship... Oh, to be living in domestic bliss, lol.
Glad that your little one on the way has nothing wrong with her other kidney and nothing else has shown up in the ultrasound. Hopefully it will be all smooth sailing from here on!

Niamh, that flooding sounds horrific. Here we are watching the town's lake dry up (expected to be dry by Christmas) after eight years of drought. We've had a brief respite from temperatures in the 40s but supposed to be back to the mid to high 30s for the rest of this week. Crazy weather! Glad your DS is on the road to recovery. Good idea to try to minimize the chances of anything else happening to him. Boys sure can be rough in the playground! :p

ETA Was just reading in another thread that our Lee is being induced and is texting Spring Angel with the news when there is some! :hooray: Oh, I hope everything is going to be okay!!!! Good luck, Lee!!! Have begun cyber pacing and look forward to reading more news in the morning.
ETA2 News from Spring: Lee and her DH are overjoyed to welcome our baby boy at 11.35pm, 1st December. Flynn Jacques, 8lb 13 oz (3.990kg), perfect in every way. FANTASTIC!!!!!!! So very happy for you, Lee!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

Yes I just fluked it and seen the message the evening before she was inducded... the perfect outcome a very nice note to finish on Congrats Lee and family!!!

Kerry domestic bliss not all its cracked up to be!!! Well sometimes...I have to say it is nice to feel relaxed and comfortable even if it is a bit boring from time to time!!!????
