Oh Pam, I wish I were nearby so I could distract you from torturing yourself. I have only ever experienced a CS and understand your comment about feeling "ripped off". Reading about perfect labours afterwards exacerbated that feeling. So I never posted Matthew's birth story. I can say though that I've also read some horror stories about vaginal births and some terribly distressing stories of uterine ruptures. Why we do this to ourselves, I don't know! What we need is happy anticipation!
Anyway, I hope that you are able to get yourself into the calm mental space you need this morning and I hope with all my heart that everything goes as smoothly as possible for you and your little girl-waiting-for-you. You are a wonderful mother and that's why this little soul has chosen you. Hope you can feel our love and can sense that we are there "with" you today. Big hugs, Pam. :comfort:
Big hugs Pam. I'll be thinking of you this morning. I'm hoping that you can find some peace with the situation when your little girl is here. Remember that you fought hard and she is the prize in the end.

Just had a call from Pam's DH! Successful delivery of their baby girl by a straight forward CS this morning. Baby was feeding while DH was telling me their news. Both mum and bub are doing well. No other details as yet. :hooray: hooray for Pam! Welcome to the newest little duckling! :loveshower: :loveshower: :loveshower:

Pam's sent another SMS to say no name yet, but was 4.144kg. And Pam lost a lot of blood but is feeling a bit better today. :comfort: There is a gorgeous pic of the little princess too, I'll try again to put it on the BB gallery. FB is just too public, even with privacy settings and after a think about it, I'd hate to do the wrong thing!

Okay, Erin, is that a new avatar (at the risk of looking silly again! lol)? It's really lovely! I've been thinking of upgrading mine to reflect DS being a toddler now, but I think the way he's smiling looking at the milk bar is pretty accurate for the moment! I keep thinking that I should be making a more concerted effort to wean him but I don't know if that will really help make him sleep through the night better. I do wish that I could get him to eat more during the day, I think the day carer has more success on that front. It's school holidays so I'm enjoying having so much more time with him, he really makes me laugh with his antics. However, he's back demanding feeds during the day just like the last holidays and I'm finding it very draining in every sense!
How did everyone go over Easter? DS enjoyed playing with his Humpty egg but I kept the chocolate eating part to a bare minimum. As it was, he spat out one gooey mouthful and that's when the chocolate experience stopped! I, on the other hand, gave myself a sugar high headache! :p
She is gorgeous. Makes me oh so clucky. I have been lately too. I keep looking at Molly and wondering where my baby went. She looks so much like a little girl now
hehe I gave Ash some eggs, and the boys, but honestly they have barely touched them! Jaidans had the most, Chase has had a few, Ashton had half of a small bunny. He just wasn't overly interested. Show him a block of mint bubbly cadbury chocolate however and he'll eat the whole lot! (I know, he ate mine one morning when I was in the shower...)
Kerry I've had the av for a few weeks now..thanks sarah did a great job. She even put in the amber beads I wear ALL the time :)
We tried to keep the chocolate to a minimum it send Em crazy!!

MATILDA (TILLY) ADELINE TIGER HILDITCH
offically Matilda (which is a battle maiden, to signify the struggles she has been through to get here) but she will only get her full name when in trouble!!
Adeline meaning Noble and a family name
Tiger because she is a fighter and born it the year of the Tiger, plus her first cry sounded like a little Tiger cub.
She is a good weight 4.114 KGS, MEASURING 53CM, head 34.5cm.
Born by CS, she was given to me to hold skin on skin as soon as she was bornand was left with me for all but the last 15 minutes of surgery, we feed in recovery, she seems that she has done that before and is a little expert.
It turned out to be a good thing I did'nt go into labour my uterus was paper thin, the OB could easily see her and it was'nt far from breaking, I also have lots of scar tissue and as a result bleed for a long time during and after surgery, they have recommended no more babies ( but that advice is not nessecary!!! there is no way you could get me to go back)

You must have a guardian angel watching over both of you, Pam. Imagining you going into labour with such a thin uterus wall sends shivers up and down my spine. Big fat hugs of relief that you're okay, although the blood loss is scary enough. Wishing you a speedy recovery to full health and strength. Your little girl is truly a miracle and you and Mr Blackduckies are so blessed! :dance:

Thanks girls, grabbing a few minutes before I go to bed. Kerry where did you put the pic? I was going to have a look at it myself, I have only had a quick look lying down on my tiny phone screen so was'nt really sure about it, but it was the one where she had her eyes open, so i thought it looked the best. I'm not worried if you put it on FB, someone would be doing well if they linked me and you, and I don't think I have any weird stalkers or anything. Uterine Rupture, yes!!! and to think I was so close, now when i think about it I had some really sharp pains, that felt like she was trying to dig her way out a couple of times I had to lie down, I felt so faint and sick from there intensity, I just put it down to late pregnancy and position, but maybe it was a sign??? Either way I was so lucky and our girl is meant to be here.:clap:
Donna, I would love if you visited..maybe give me a few weeks though:o I feel good, no painetc, but just getting used to the dynamics of everyhting will take a bit of time, plus Poppy is still sick, now passed it onto my mum who looked after her for a few days. Mum kept saying to me before Tilly was born I was being silly for trying to avoid Poppy breathing on me etc, i even wore a mask for the last couple of days, I was so thankful that I had'nt caught it, her theroy was i would ahve caught it before then, so much for that thought process:o
Mel, so far we have'nt given them close contact, I am convinced Poppy has gotten worse since i have been in hosptial so much so i took her back to the docs..they still say it is a virus and no antibiotics will help..very stressful that something can last so long and they can be so miserable..Tilly should'nt catch it with her newborn immunity etc, but I don't want to take the chance.:pray: Poppy is really interested and keeps saying bubba and i am sure would love to cuddle her, btu is really rough and throws everythign at the moment so will have to keep a good close eye on her, I have Tilly in a portcot, in a basket with hood ( the more protection the better, against the book type missles) she is in the lounge room room during the day, although I am holding her a lot cause Dh is home and she is really content that way.
Gillian thanks for all your support, we must meet one day, i am often in Traralgon..well once we settle in at home etc. I am looking forward to getting out with the 2 little girls, while the big kids are at school kindy.
Thanks to you all once again, Kerry, Niamh,Donna, Sue, Lee, Erin, Mel, and anyone else I missed. I will keep checking in and keeping you all posted, everyhting is going great including BF... Tilly is a great feeder, maybe she will be the one who i don't have to comp feed??? She is working very hard at getting my milk in, which is feeling close?? today she went 3-4 hours between feeds and plenty of wet/ dirty nappies so looks like she is getting enough!!!???
That's so great she is feeding well Pam! I'm sure she will fit into the family so well. A friend of mine just had her 5th 4 months ago and said any extra after 3 is no different they just fit in :)

well done on breastfeeding!! Don't stress if you don't have super engorgement with Tilly. I didn't with Ashton and put it down to his very constant feeding :) Sounds like she is doing really well!! Enjoy this time to settle in :)
Hope Poppy gets better soon. Ashton only just got over a snotty nose and cough after almost 3 weeks with it! He never gets sick so I hated it!!
Re: the 4th slipping in, I found the 3rd did hehe Once you've had 2 and gotten used to 2 kids, they are all easy after that!! Well Ashton was, hoping Eli is too haha
LOL Pam. Dont worry not heading down your way til next month at this stage. Tilly sounds like a champ with her feeding. Molly used to feed every 4 hours.

ahh awesome! I am due the 2nd June so we aren't far apart!!
For ME the second one was the hardest. May have been because there was 14 months difference with them so really I still had 2 very reliant babies. However, Jaidan wasn't old enough to get that sibling jealousy or really grasp what was happening.
Then 3.5 years between second and third which was easy! Ashton slipped in to life, the boys were 3 and 4 and could look after themselves to some degree. They played together, we also had a pretty good routine of playgroups etc which we continued to do after Ashs arrival. They were also old enough to help out which was awesome and at that age where helping out was FUN!
This one may be tough, almost 21 months between them. Ashton is old enough to understand a new baby, and get jealous of one. He is also hitting that age of seeing how far he can push the boundaries. Lucky though that he sleeps through, still has quite a long nap of 11am-2pm (differs sometimes half an hour here or there) and he is still very much needing me to do a lot for him. Also the older boys are both at school now so he isn't entertained by them during the day. My fingers are crossed that it all goes smoothly and Eli slips in to life with us. We do a LOT of activities. 1-3 a day of playgroups and kinda gym, mummy groups and reading groups etc. I really enjoy our activities and Eli is due in the school holidays! So they wont be running, which gives the 5 of us time to bond and be in 'lock down' ...
anyways, sorry for rambling!
Mel being due int he school holidays is a godsend, like you say it gives a bit of time to settle in and not having to be anywhere is handy.
I have to agree after 3 it gets easier, Tilly is fitting in really well,it would be good if we had gotten over the sickness thing, I guess thats the only thing making it hard, I'm not really tired, i grab a rest when feeding..DH is off for a while so that makes life so much easier, I guess it would be a different story if he was'nt??? I admire you Mel, it's going to be hard but you sound so confident and competent..a good rountine defiantely helps.
I will be getting on FB sometimes soon I promise. as soon as life settles a bit and the kids are sickness free and i get a few spare moments????!!!!! i know excuses, excuses!!!
