Hahahaha! Donna, that's funny! Matthew has been launching himself off the couch at me and has taken to jumping from the couch on to his little Thomas the Tank Engine sofa bed. Not so worried about that but it would be nice to keep him off the dining table... I think he and your Molly would have lots of fun together!

No worries at all about the link, Pam. Yes, it would be really lovely to see you on FB but I think you've got a good excuse to be off the computer for a while! Hope everything's going well, that you're all over the bug and that you're getting enough rest!

Back to work tomorrow, students back Tuesday. And a new carer for Matthew. Hope it all goes well and that he'll be a happy chappy. He's been so much fun over the past couple of weeks, wish I was a SAHM.

Donna get him a little tramp lol either that or ignore it :P Ashton bounces, climbs, jumps and does all those things. Nothing you can do to stop it unless you want to be growling all day!

Ashton has found a love for dancing finally. He walks around the house singing and swinging his head around while bopping with each step. It is hilarious to watch!

... oh and apparently he has a baby in HIS tummy...

How cute, Mel! Be lovely to set up a play date for our little people. We've been watching a lot (too much, I hear the songs in my head) of Play School and Matthew claps and dances and sings, sets up his Ted and Humpty on his chair to watch an episode. The way he jumps with all the movement except the lift off from the floor is what cracks me up the most at the moment. And his fits of giggles when we have crawling races and I catch him for a kiss... I so don't want to go back to work tomorrow!

Donna - Bella does the same flammin thing on the louge, I get so annoyed cause I know she's going to stack it big time. I even thought of moving our lounge out until she can use it properly. I'm not bothering anymore because she has just discovered how fun it is to climb up and stand on the rocking chair :redface:

Kerry -I think Matthew and Molly would get along very well. LOL Sounds like our babies in this group would get along well :lol:

Molly loves dancing too. She is funny to watch. It used to just be a shoulder shimmy but now its bouncing and spinning. When she watches her Wiggles DVD she is starting to copy the actions that they do.

She still jumps on the couch. Much to my frustration. I tend to ignore her and give her praise when she sits down. :)

No Sue it's gone fast LOL 6 weeks and it's over and I feel like I should only be at 20 weeks! The nesting bug hit me BIG time yesterday! Bubs wasn't going to have a room. We are only a 3br house so I have the boys in one room and a toy room and my room. I co sleep so I didn't see the point... until yesterday!! I pulled all the toys out and this is what I did...

Hi girls Poppy is the same with her jumping on the couch, she is at her worst at night when she is tired and has some false courage and often falls off:o luckily nothing seriously hurt just her ego...she is so bossy, orders the other kids around and squaks if they come near her uninvited..man she is drivimg us nuts, she gave Sophie a close to black eye yesterday, just walks up and clocks her in the face with a toy!!!:shhh:
Fav program in the night garden....will sit still for indefinate periods of time while thats on not a movement or a noise, so we resort to that tactic a lot lately!!!(((((((( Bad parents:redface:))))))))

I have added a pic of Tilly 2 weeks old after her bath...oh my goodness she looks like her daddy the poor girl...but I still think she is gorgeous!!!
She has had her kidney US pretty much the same as what they saw through me..biggest cyst is now nearly 5cm, then a few at 2 cms and then 1cm and smaller, they are all jumbled up on top of each other, so they had trouble measureing them all, Tilly was great she slept through most of it and only peeped when she had to get dressed and undressed, she is such a good baby rarely cries.

I have had to comp feed her more..she lost 500grams, then i took her for a weigh and she had only gained 100 back MHN says she is not getting enough sleep or milk,( I had her on the boob all the time trying to get my supply up and running..thining i was doing a good job cause she wanted it etc, not really thinking about her lack of sleep) I am so disaapointed and feeling a failure, why won't my boobs do their job??? but i can't afford to add any issues to her kidneys problems.. so comping it has to be.. i will have to get over myself!!!! she is sleeping so much better, actually is milk drunk for the first time since she was born and still looking for boob, but getting a bit lazy and not latching on as well..I am currently waiting for her to wake up..boobs are leaking, and I can't help but think what a waste????

We see the pead next week, for full US results and to see what the next step will be, most likely a repeat US next month!!! I am still worried a lot, the MHN says it is hard to pick up if urine is goign back the wrong way and UTI in little babies, so I find myslef wondering allt he time if thigns are well!!! I guess her behaviour would change??? maybe more crying? less sleeping? not much urine? all a guessing game!!!
Anyway off for now.

oh Pam GBH! It's not a bad thing you wanting to feed her. Sounds to me like you MCHN should be a little more supportive of you! Was that 100 in a week or what? Because i think from 50 a week is normal weight gain in a bf baby.

Pam, I'd be a bit frustrated and ticked off by your MCN to be honest. It sounds like your boobies are doing a great job, thanks to Tilly's attentions and you wouldn't want any of that goodness to go to waste. I know how worried you must be about keeping her weight up though so can understand the comp feeding thing. But still. How frustrating! Can you express to keep up your supply and to save your BM for comp feeding or freeze for later? If you don't have a breast pump, I'm more than happy to send you my Medela Swing and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. Just PM me or SMS me if you're interested. And I have to say, Tilly is gorgeous! I'd love to see some more photos of her! Will be thinking of you both next week. Hope there's plenty of good news when you get the results.

Mel, I'm in a country town in western NSW. Where the locust plagues have been making the news. You should hear the sound of the locusts click, click, clicking their way across the lawn. Amazing. And an amazing mess when they wallpaper the front of the car. Love your FB photos, Ashton is such a gorgeous boy. And I love the nursery for Eli!

Sue, first week back has been awful! Was so tired by 8pm last night, I was dizzy! Bit better tonight. Matthew's asleep now, went down at 6:50pm which is very early for him.

Donna, we should put together films of our little people dancing and jumping. :D Would be gold material for later. Erin, I remember one that you had of Em doing some air guitar, I think! It was brilliantly funny!

Aw Pam. You're doing a great job!! I can only imagine how tough with 2 under 2 and the older ones!! You are supermum. If u need to comp it's ok don't let the nurse male u feel bad! It must be such a worry about Tilly's kidneys. I hope u get some propper answers soon.

Yeh Kerry she is a crack up! Like Matthew she was on the kitchen table the other night dancing around.
I wish she would sleep better we have had some bad nights this week. One night up at 130 dh took her to the spare room, at 445 I hear her calling mumma ( not sure if she had been asleep with him at all) so bring her in with me so dh can sleep but she didnt go to sleep til 6 am which is when we had to get up for work!!

Mel thanks for sharing your experience with having your second ( and 3rd) it's weighing on my mind... I think too much!

Well girls Molly is back to her screaming best at night. It has conincided with herr eye teeth coming in. DH in his infinite wisdom has decided that maybe it is time for Molly to go into a bed as if you put her in our bed (without us) she snuggles down and goes to sleep.

I am not too sure about this and wanted to see if anyone elses kids are in beds yet? Thoughts girls?

We are keeping Em in her cot as long as we can. She hasn't started climbing and still has plenty of room. I'm not ready for her to be able to get out whenever she wants! lol
Do you think it's the bed or just being with you that settles her?

Thanks Ezy I love my avi too :) Sarah did a great job. I thought it might have been because it was with me at first. But she does the same with DH or if she is put in by herself. DH's other theory was that she did it cause the bed smells like me but I put a PJ top that I had been wearing in herr cot and it did nothing.
I am a little worried about her getting up all the time if she was in a bed.

lol no way Ash is going into a bed until he can escape his cot. I like having him restrained and I tried a bed a month or so ago and it was a nightmare!
Ash is teething too, all of his molars and eye teeth have popped through so he's been a bit unsettled at night and spent the last 2 nights in my bed.

Hi gilrs added a new pic of Tilly and Poppy in the bath with me, advert the eyes if you see a big fat roll!!!!!It belongs to me....:D
Indie I would put her in a bed DS went into his at 1year old and never looked back, we did have to put a gate on his room to keep him in there when he realized he could leave at anytime:o

no not long to go now. Can't wait until he decides to arrive. WAY over the pain and feeling very sorry for myself, and the boys. It's hard on them because I can't do a lot. Jaidan said to me "I can't wait until you have Elijah so you can come watch me play soccer again" :'(

AFM After nearly 2 weeks of screaming at bedtime Molly has gone to sleep with a minimum of fuss tonight. Fingers crossed that it will continue.

Okay. Is Matthew the only bub here who has not slept through the night yet once? I am going out of my mind. I just can't get work done and I am so far behind. Getting very depressed and unsure of the way forward. :(

Pam I am not sure. Molly still wakes at least once a night.

Oh Kerry I feel your pain. We do get the odd night but more often than not she ends up in the spare room with dh.

So Donna what have you decided with the bed? It's a tough one!!

I am cranky with my body. After I stopped expressing fulltime my cylce came back fairly regularly. Now in the last couple of months it's started going haywire! AF is late now by ages (not pg!!). I'm ovulating much later too like at day 19- 20. Trust it to start when we are thinking about another baby maybe. I just don't know what's going on!

Kerry Eireann is just the same I think the fact she is teething is not helping, 4 teeth coming in one go! but she wakes so much through the night .
Im hoping when we move to a new house and I will have a room for her she may settle more.

Ezyma I here you Im down to one feed nearly every other day now with Eireann and my cycles are worse now, my AF has just come 5 days early so short LP Im taking MACA its a herb that blances your hormones and helps your moods as well. I just started it so hope it does trick for my cycles.

Pam how are you doing hun, how the BF going you know with BF babies they can be slower to put on the weight at the start I agree with every one else I wouldnt be impressed with your doctor hope you are all ok.

Hiya there, Im new to these forums. My little man Blake was born 4/9/08. I also have a 3 yr old daughter, Yelina.

just read a few of the above posts - my son is still in his cot, but my daughter went into a bed at 21 months, as thats when my son was born, and I wanted her to be in her bed for a couple of months before he was big enough for a cot, so she didnt feel pushed out so he could have it. She settled down straight away and only had one night of continuous getting up, one night of getting up once and then that's it. She is a good girl though and I could communicate well with her, and we talked about not getting up in the night etc.

It always amazes me how much we could communicate then, as now with my son that age, there is nowhere near the level of talking going on. Sure he says a few words, but I could have conversations with my daughter at 20 months, explaining her baby brother was in mummy's tummy and her asking questions about it and telling anyone who would listen that she was to be a big sister etc. My son has no concept of the words sister, brother etc and defo couldn't hold a convo. he understand simple instructions "come here blake" and questions "whats that, wheres this" but only really illicits one word answers. He doesn't have many words he can say and those who can, some of them others don't understand what he says, but I do cos I'm used to him talking. He does have an extensive amount of baby signs for words that he has made up himself to try to communicate with me.

Does anyone know if this is normal for a 20 months old? The only experience I have is my daughter and that was such a different situation!

Hello RioKama! Welcome to our thread. We have bursts of activity and then it's quiet for a bit but couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of baby buddies! RE: your question about the difference on communication, I have heard often that girls pick up talking quicker than boys. But I only have Matthew so can't provide a personal opinion, lol. I guess all kids are individual and they talk when they're ready (or need to!). I'm finding that I'm saying "What?? Say what you want!!" to Matthew quite a bit now. He's pretty good though, except when he's tired and cranky.

Anyway, going to try to get him to sleep now. Fingers crossed it will be a good night!

Hi Girls

It's been a while, but I do still try to read posts and see how everyone is going. well for me, I've just taken a year's leave off work to spend with the kids. DH's new job meant he can't look after them while I work. So I should have more time to come in here and catch up.
Ashlyn is doing well. She's pretty cheeky and knows what she wants. She is starting to show and interest in toilet training so we've been reading potty books and I let her sit on the potty whenever she wants. So far she's had success with a couple of poos, but when it comes to wees she usually does it all over the floor about a minute later. The look on her face is priceless though!
I look forward to being able to catch up with everyone again. :)

Captain, to be able to take a year off sounds fantastic to me. I'm struggling to get through to Friday and feel like I'm falling further and further behind. And Matthew is so much fun, with his giggles and cheekiness, I really wish I were home with him. I am able to take long service leave this year and have been thinking hard about using some of that but I'll be needing it to look for somewhere to live next year. Anyway, it will be good to have you more often on BB and FB! :)

Pam, I've PM'd you and sent you text messages - hope the valve arrived okay for the Medela Swing and that it's working for you.

It's 2:45am so best get back to bed. Always seems like the alarm goes just after I've closed my eyes. :rolleyes:

Sounds perfectly normal to me. Ashton still isn't talking in sentences. He has a lot of words, and he says 2 together but that's about it. We have little conversations but they go more like this

"Want a bath"
"no bath"
"you want a shower"
"bath. bubble"
"ok bath with bubbles it is"

LOL

He gets across what he is after fine, but he doesn't talk like Chase did at his age. I think they say 6 words at 18 months is 'normal' and anything over that is great. Ashton has more than 50 so he has heaps of single words he uses, and he's started to parrot what I say, but conversations like you had with your daughter I don't have with Ash.

Ashtons teeth have all come through finally. It's funny watching his little face when he chews things now. You can see the fascination in his eyes that he can use those back chompers to chew!

Its been a while! but im still alove *just*

been super busy, the kids are driving me mental. but have put the eldest in kindy, and the youngest is at home with me. every day.. all day..
still not sleeping through, we are night weaning at the moment. 3 - 4 breast feeds a night is too hard on me now.
Im nto getting to bed until 2am because i am so busy with work, then up a few times with him it does my head in.

hes talking heaps. can count to 10, sing twinkle twinkle from start to finish and knows most colours.

hes so going to be a doctor or something LOL!

We're doing great here! Ash loves loves loves his baby brother. It's so cute! I was so worried he'd be super jealous but I had nothing to worry about! He wont leave him alone LOL

School holidays here, they go back tomorrow thank goodness. Oh that sounds horrible but I am very exhausted at the moment so will be looking forward to the break!!

We are good Em is talking heaps!!! She is a little parrot and that unfortunately means she comes out with the F word from time to time. Terrible I know!! She had settled into FDC well. DH and I are thinking it's time for another one so we'll see how that goes ;)

Mel I saw the pics of your new little man on FB too and he is sooo cute!! You have kicked my cluckiness into overdrive.
Ez- Moo comes out with some choice words too. Lucky for me that DH can't understand most of them but I know she is saying them.

The decision about putting Moo in a bed was taken out of my hands. She absolutely refuses to sleep in her cot so she is currently sleeping on a single bed mattress on the floor. You have to sit with her but at least she isn't screaming hysterically in her cot. We went and got some manchester for her bed. I had gotten her a Wiggles doona cover for her birthday so that is on her mattress on the floor. When I put it on she dragged everyone in the room several times to show them the Wiggles (my brother is currently lilving in our spare room).
Today DH was looking after Moo while I went to the shops. He said that she disappeared and when he went to look where she was, he found her asleep in her bed :D

ooooh good luck with the baby making Ezy! That's so exciting!!

Donna that is so cute! Ashton will tell me 'bed' if he's tired, but he's still in a cot. Once I get the boys their bunks and move them into the front room I'll be taking the side of Ashtons cot. He attempted to climb out the other day but I busted him and growled and he hasn't tried since.

Mel, Congratulations on the birth of Elijah. That's great that Ashton is adjusting well. Hope you can get plenty of rest while the boys are at school.
Donna, I have a friend who had the same problems with her DD and the cot. Much happier in a big bed.

Hi girls sickness is stalking us, just colds and er MAN FLU!!! Its's very annoying especially that Tilly keeps getting it.
Mel great to hear things are going so well, I hear you on the rest..our school hols are about to start..that will be a rest fro me, we spend so much time in the car..I am always waking Tilly up to go and get someone.

I have some news, Ive just found out Im nearly 5 weeks pregnant :o delighted but a little shocked feeling tired and a bit sick hope all goes well now eek! NO mention on FB please ;) just in case

Eireann has weaned as well in the last 6 to 7 weeks it was a very slow process I didn't rush her at all we just went with the flow, she has adjusted really well and is so cheeky and cute.
Dh said love you and I siad to him love you too and she tried to say Love you too after him as well in her baby talk of course.

boys are deffo slower to talk than Girls but I think it depends on if they are around a lot of adults or brothers and sisters that can make a difference but some are slower to talk than others and that's OK they all do it in their own time:)
