Thanks Sue, if I lived closer I'd take you up on your offer Your doctor sounds like a funny man, lol at the screw on hands and feet...

Eej, Matthew doesn't sleep 18 hours a day. Maybe 11? I'll have to take note. I don't think he sleeps enough. I'll have a look in the books I've got. But I think the Contented Baby Book says 15 and a half.

Eej, Ashlyn sleeps about 17hrs a day. She has a 2hr nap in the morning, 2hrs in the arvo and about 13hrs at night. I've tried keeping her up longer but in just messes up her night sleeps so I figured it's what she needs. If Emily is active and happy it's nothing to worry about. Some bubs just sleep more than others.

Eej, Ashton sleeps a decent amount, but not that much. 9pm - 8am and in that time he is up for 2 feeds, but it's feed and back to sleep so probably looses about half hour. Then during the day he has 1 3 hour sleep and 1 2 hour sleep so about 16 hours

Well things are better with Ashtons dad He has moved back in

Ashton has shot up! 75cm long now. Can't believe it. He fits nicely in all his size 1 pants haha such a boof! Haven't weighed him but will have to do it this week next time I am in town!

His tooth is through, well a small bit of it anyways. He has been so fussy the last couple of days and even the boob makes him cry Poor bub!

Hope all the bubs are well, I am off to bed!

The Kids Health for Parents website says for 4-7 month olds:
"While the average number of hours slept per day at this age is 14, the range of normal is quite wide, with some babies sleeping only 9 hours and others sleeping as much as 18.
The average amount of daytime sleep now is 3-4 hours. Some babies will nap 20 minutes, others will sleep much longer than average."
And from the Pampers Parenting Institute:
"The average 4-month-old baby sleeps about nine to 12 hours each day and takes about three two- to three-hour naps each day. This is a time of gradual transition toward two regular daily naps. On days when your baby has just two naps, she'll probably sleep more during the night. Most babies this age have put most of their sleep into the nighttime hours and are more awake during the day."

Hi girls... oooh I got a nice suprise yesterday... The builders called to say that they are starting on my new garage on Thursday .. sooo excited. I got my new car in November and it's just been baking out there in the sun and its so hard to keep it clean - not to mention that I keep burning Bella on the hot seatbelts when I put her in.

Kerry - yeah, the dr is a funny man. He is also very good with Bella so I am happy that I have finally found a decent dr to go to because we always seem to be there LOL..

eej - I replied to yr thread already, but I am sure Bella sleeps nearly that same amount.. she is having a rough day today for some reason but I will take note when she is better..

gotta run, stinky bum is awake and calling xx

With regards Xaviers sleeping he has 2 hrs in the morning, an hour at lunchtime, an hour late afternoon and then goes down 7pm until 6am (at the mo) and he is unsettled between 7 and 9pm waking and settling every 20mins or so. He wakes to feed twice in the night but goes straight back down so he has somewhere in the region of 14 - 15hrs a day. He is 16wks old.

I dont worry he seems ok with that just wish he would drop a night feed sometime soon but it will all happen when hes good and ready.

    Hi girls,

it's been a nervous few months for me, BUT...... the results from my biopsy are in

and it's good news, no thyroid cancer.... now it's a waiting game for it to become hyperactive and then they will either shrink it or surgery. I pick shrink it, but it depends on how big it is a the time????????

re sleeping: Poppy sleeps 10 hours at night, then has a nap for about an 1+ hour in the morning, then a 2-3 hour sleep afternoon and 1 hour towards the evening. So around 15 hours generally.

Missymoo you are really on a rollercoaster ride, hope things sort out for you soon.

Joh I hear you on not enough hours in a day/ week I would love to be on facebook etc, but can't find enough time to post as much as I would like on here, stress's me out sometimes, like now, the other kids are alseep and little Poppette who should be asleep is crying

    See ya later girls..

blackduckies - I wish my 3yr old would have a daytime sleep she dropped them before she hit 2. If she has one now then she doesnt go to bed until silly clock something like 9 - 10pm so I avoid them with her but she wouldnt sleep if I put her in her room anyway.

    Jo

Will post later as going to rest since my little man is sleeping and I am shattered

Pam - that's bloody brilliant news huni. I bet you are just so relieved...

Arabella had her first "real" babysit today... it was only just over 3hrs at grandma's while I went into work for a meeting LOL, but I was so worried about it, don't know why cause she was an angel, as always. I said to mum that maybe DF and I could go and see a movie one day now that I feel ok about leaving her for short periods..

hi everyone!! well i jinxed myself with the last post. all went down hill afterwards and we've had about 8 days of whinginess with her first happy day again today! yay for happy days !!

I think I've been feeding Liberty too much because she's gone from 10% to between 50-75% oops. She's 6.3kg yesterday. She just gets so hungry though and since she started on formula she's a crappy sleeper so she feeds a lot at night now too. I'm going to start using EBM to replace formula now that she seems better from the lactose thing although I better be careful I don't feed her too much breast milk or she'll get lactose overload!! She had that as a bubby and that's not nice - frothy green poos ewwww.

Glad to hear Captain that DH is doing better!! And wowsers Ashlyn is doing well weight wise. And the temperature was 42!! YIKES! So glad I live on the coast!!

Nicambahr - i like what your dr said - liberty looks the same - she'd have cankles it it wasnt for all the rolls she has!!

Eej - thanks for all the facebook advice, what was that snappy gel thingy called that you were talking about for heating up the EBM? oh and Liberty sleeps about 14 hours in 24. if I'm lucky!! 40 min in the morning, 2 hours at lunch, 40 min in the arvo and between 10-12 hours at night waking up more than i want to recall!! believe it or not she's having more now than what she had as a newborn. she barely slept at all at the start! OH YAY KERRY I JUST READ YOUR POST you made me feel lots better!! It was quite depressing reading about all these big sleepers!! and she's the same as joh being unsettled at the start of the night.

Joh - your kiddies are adorable!! So cute! And I love the name Xavier, it was on my list for a boy.

Pam - that's really good that your daughter is texting you often - it means she's thinking about you!! yay for your biopsy results!!

Nat - hope the reflux situation improves - its the same here but I thought it was because she was rolling around more. When she's on her tummy if I don't see her spew she starts to play with it - gross.

Kerry - hope your milk blister gets better!!

ok bubs crying i've probably missed someone oh hi donna btw! g2g!!

well that average amount of sleep is a load of crap. Neither of mine did that!

There is too much going on all the time for nath to have a sleep like that.

He is going well, we are off to the health nurse today to see if the change of diet and sustagen etc is doing him any good *sigh* i dont know what to do if it hasnt. I just cant put him on formula. I just cant i love breast feeding too much and in comparason (blake was FF) i just love the intimate bond nath and i have together because of it. Not saying that FF babes dont have that bond, but blake and i do. Please everyone cross your fingers for me. Basically, nath was one of the bigger babies born amongst us and he is currently being over taken by your babies.

He was born 3.745 and now weighs 7.120 length 67.5 and he has a tiny head lol his head is ont he 10th percentile lol.

Lauren, i hope your BF goes well hun!! You know i am rooting for you! You should come to one of the gold coast meet ups.

I have not read back, so sorry for lack of personals. will try and be around a bit more i know i keep saying that.

Oh oh oh - who is wanting to ttc soon?

Sue that's great!!! It would be nice to go out for tea or see a movie. I have'nt left Poppette yet... I feel the same way, plus she still looks for booobbbiiee when she gets sad. But it's going to have to happen soon, I would love to have even a little bit of free time without my velcro baby.

Lauren, goo dluck on getting Liberty back on to breast milk fully, strange that on formula she is sleeping less it's usually the other way. She must be needing that feeding lol she is probablly a better weight now.

joh DS is awake till all hours, but needs that sleep or else he falls asleep at tea time and not a happy chappy when you wake him up!!!!! He is starting kindy in a couple of weeks, so it will be interesting to see how he goes then. we had to put a gate on his room to keep him in otherwise he would be up half the night, it's off now just had to grow past the phase, DD never gets up???? Strange how they can be so different....

Mummatotwo, best of luck, his weight does'nt sound to bad though. Is the maternal health nurse worried???? If you can hang out a bit longer starting solids might be all that's needed, although you were'nt going to start till later were you? Maybe just farex/basics for longer???? Only thoughts...

Capatin, how well are you doing... I am jealoushow much have you lost??

Hi everyone else have a great day..

Pam, don't be jealous, you've lost more cm's than me! I've lost 3kg, so about another 10 to go. Yay on your biopsy results!! That's fantastic news.

Mummatotwo, Nath sounds like he's a good weight. Hope it goes well for you today. I think we have some really big babies in this group too, so don't let it worry you too much. Not wanting to TTC just yet, maybe in couple of years.

Lauren, goodluck with the EBM, really hope it goes well. I remember the frothy green poos, Ashlyn had them to start with, yucky!

Sue, a movie sounds like a great idea. I really want to see that new Wil Smith one. I'm going to have to try EBM to see if I can leave her with my mum. Definately have to do it before March because we have tickets to see the Phantom of the Opera!!!

Jo, Danielle is the same if I let her have a day sleep. She'll be up all night too, just not worth it.

Kerry, hope the blister is getting better, sounds painful. When are you meant to be going to Hong Kong?

Mel, wow Ashton is going to be tall. Ashlyn is nearly his weight but only 63cm!!

Things are going well here. Ashlyn still wakes every 2-3hrs at night, it's like she just wants reassurance that I'm still there before she goes back to sleep. I really wish her cot would fit into our bedroom, it would be so much easier. Had a new nephew born yesterday, he weighed 10pound 3! Can't wait to see some photos (They live in Sydney.)

captain - whoa, 10 pounds, that's enormous.. I feel confident enough now to leave her for maybe 5 hrs at the most. Phantom of the Opera, you lucky duck.

pam - Bella is quite a velcro baby, but it doesn't really matter who she is velcro'd too LOL. I started weight watcher's last week and lost 2.3 kg in the first week, I am sooo over the moon, but I have a looong way to go yet

lauren - LOL, I jinxed myself when I posted how well Arabella slept one day, that very night she just screamed all night. PML about the cankles, Bella has droopy boobs now too.

Mummatotwo - I don't think that anyone should tell you not to BF, just think of all the goodness he is getting from the breastmilk, he is just taking his time sprouting LOL. My fingers are definately crossed for you, best of luck.

As for us, bring on these friggin teeth.. sheesh, poor Arabella is just getting so frustrated. She isn't feeding properly cause she just wants to chew on the teet all the time. I reckon she will have to go cold turkey on the panodol soon
Anyone even close to teeth yet????

Gotta run and get some nappies dry before it rains this afternoon.

    ETA - missymoo, how exciting..

Sue Ash broke his the other day. The other one isn't far off either. I have had to cut right back on the dymadon... he has been having it for too long! But what can you do? I have him on bonjella, teething necklace and teething relief drops and he was still so fussy and in pain

    Hi Girls,

Ive never thought about how much Eireann sleep, must do a check to see..

Nicambhar I lost 2 pounds last week, thats a brilliant loss well done, I wont get a chance to weigh my self till tomorrow i think. stuck in the house today.

blackduckies Im delighted for you hun, that is brilliant news you must be so relieved.

Mummatotwo! your liitle man is exactly the same as my 2 year old, he was 8lbs 5 onzs born dropped to 7 pounds 10, he stayed small and still is small but is the smartest cheeky lovable little boy I breast fed him till he was 22 months he started solids when he was 6 months. I never was told that I might have to swap to ff I think he is just small and thats all , he had a tiny head as well, ild call it petite shane still fits in to size one and size two trousers are all to big in his waist and length. I do still worry over him. but he loves his food and drinks lots and even after breastfeeding stopped he hasnt got any bigger. so if your little lad is sleeping haveing lots of BF and loads of wet nappies Ild say all is ok. just my thoughts though.

well hope every one is ok, im shattered, feeling a little sick I think Shane my two year old has been getting sick, its weird he gets wind up and pukes once, with sleeping inbetween, my heart goes out to him all he wants is food and juice or milk and Im saying no, he had a bit of juice and got sick again. what drinks do you drink with a tummy bug. we normally have 7up, white lemonade or luckozade at home. I hope it is a tummy bug and not food poisening or gastric or something nast like that.

Eireann is teething like mad, we went shopping the other night, she was going mad I was going to get her a soother just so she could hew on something, but i got this little teether esp for babies it is like a soother with out the sucky thing she loves it and she can hold it her self and chew away, I put a little teething gel on it for her keeps her happy for a little while till she demands to be stuck to my hip again.

better go sorry for lack of personals, duty calls
