When they sleep on their tummies how do you ladies position them? Do you tuck their legs in or arms?
I would put Ashtons arms up near his head and just leave his legs, he usually brings them up and has his bum in the air
yay!! I got my username changed :) finally got around to it. I'd had it the same as my email addy when I first joined (i used to just read threads) and didn't realise it would be used for posting. Problem was sometimes people would judge my posts for my beliefs and I like to replies for ppl who are going through rough times (often the hardest times for ppl to comprehend "God"). Also whilst I am in no way ashamed of my beliefs (in case u couldn't tell by my email), I prefer people to use my name rather than "isaag"!! Cos although my boobies are never going to be the same again after breastfeeding they're not that bad haha!!
HI!!!!
Sorry but this is a bit of a ME ME post (apologies in advance!!)
YAY nathan is gainign weight ! - finally!!!!! He is now 7.02 kilos and is 67.5 cms long wooot woooot wooot thats the 97th for length and i think the 75th for weight! GO MY BOOBIES!!!!!!
I just feel so great about this, my confidence in breast feeding has sky rocketed!
Lauren, like the name change! But i never judged you for your beleifs :):)
Lauren, :lol:at Isaag:lol:it was long so people will always cut it shorter. Yes my weight gain is because of tiredness, always grab the sweeties when I feel like that as well as depressed lonely, stressed. I wonder why I put on so much:doh:
Mummatwo, rockin boobies girl. I always thought he was doing well, but I guess it's hard to be sure!!! Glad it's put your mind at ease....
To all you girls have a great day.
Wow it's a year to the day that I found out that I was pregnant with Madeleine, I remember it being one of the best days but being so worried that it would all go horribily wrong like the 3 before... but thankfully she was meant to be.
Anyone planned more? I've managed to almost get DH to commit to another bub & i'll start trying in about 10 mths.
I haven't been on for a while, we hosted Xmas & New years and I was so wrecked after all the cooking & cleaning I hadn't any energy... I'm just getting over my flu now
On the bub front, she is doing great. She now sleeps in her cot !!!YAY although she likes to wake more in the night as she thinks it funny... she also never stays in the blankets or wraps as shes found how to push her self around the cot. Was so cute yesterday she was hanging her legs out the side laughing.
Last month she weighed 6.7kg's & was 62 cm's long... so no small fry. Although the reflux is giving us so much hell she just screams with almost all bottles from the acid. We have started farex as recommended by the MCN, we wont be giving her full solids until the recommended 6 months to be on the safe side.
I'll go through all the posts now, hope everyone is well & had a great Xmas season
Wow, it's amazing when you read some posts on BB how many people sleep their babies on their tummies.
CJ, I'm not suprised you have no energy with all that going on. I think I've got DH wanting a third bub, but we've both agreed to wait a couple of years, so it will probably be another 3 year age gap. Though I think I would like to try and not have another September bub!
Mummatotwo, yeah for the boobies! Fantastic weight gain.
Lol, I know what you been about the name change. I've thought about changing mine because I don't think most people get it, especially since I've taken my name out of my sig. (I was named after the band the Captain and Tenille:lol:) Haven't decided what I want to change it to yet. Though I must admit I'd never noticed the ISAAG before:lol:
Eej, I put Ashlyn down with her hands near her head because she likes to suck on her fingers. She usually works her legs out for herself.
Pam, I never thought that the c/section could make such a difference to my tummy, but I guess it makes sense. I had definately lost a lot more weight at this stage last time with a vag birth.
Niamh, hope it works for you and you're able to get some rest. I'm still paranoid about it because of the sids thing though.
Well I'd better be off, I promised Danielle we would go for a swim as soon as Ashlyn goes for a nap so I'd best get ready.
Captain I hope you enjoyed your swim! I want to take Ashton to the pool when it's hot, but do you have to wait until they have their 6 month needles??
Niamh, I hope the tummy sleeping worked a treat :)
Lol it took me ages to understand what your name said lol but I didn't judge you ;)
CJ that is great!! Babies are so much fun! I am already longing for another... but I loved being pregnant too and miss that lol
Well Ashton is doing really well! He is now 8.6kg (he's been going up and down lol) and 72 cm long!! I really can't believe it. He has started to do the cuttest thing, he rocks when you hold him lol He thinks its great fun! He has also rolled from his back to his tummy now :) I was shocked cos I was changing him and he did it, cheeky monkey!
His dad is over the moon, I am so happy! He has been here almost every day (I think there has been 2 days where he hasn't come) to see him. He even txt me and said when he leaves he wants to cry because he misses him so bad... and this guy just isn't emotional!
Can't believe he is almost 4 months old!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mel, thats wonderful that his dad is so into him!! I dont know too much about your story in regards to the daddy, but yay for him!
72cms? what was he at birth? Thats a very very long bub! does he look 4 months old? or closer to 1 year old hahaha!
Captain, how was the swim? I am so loving taking the kids to the pools. We got a pretty cool present from our families this year - a 2 year pass to both dreamworld and white water world, so i think there will be lots of swimming and rides over the next couple of years.
Pam, nath was always doing "ok" but there were many weeks where he was only gaining 20-80 grams, which is ok, just not great gains. It made me doubt my supply as well. So 300+ grams in 10 days is brilliant for us, i am one proud mummy!
How is everyone going with breast feeding still? Are we still motivated?
Is anyone going to start solids at 4 months? We are going to wait as long as possible with nathan, i want to wait until at least 8ish months until his gut is mature enough.
Nathan has been rolling onto his tummy for a couple of weeks now, but gets so ****ty when he is on there because he cant roll back lol so i have to go and rescue him all the time. Its funny to think, but Blake was comando/butterfly crawling at 4.5 months!!
I am more then happy for Nathan to take his time though, i think i will wait for a little bit longer before another baby, so i would like to jsut sit back and take my time with this one. No rush, no bother just cruise and let the milestones happen in their own time.
Also, what does everyone feel about the walkers and jolly jumpers?
The swim was beautiful!! I think I might be swimming most days now that it's so hot.
Mel, we have a pool so it's just a quick walk into the back yard, lol. I have taken Ashlyn to the pools though. I had never heard about waiting for the needles. I had started Danielle at 3 months in classes. Haven't been able to get Ashlyn into classes yet, we are still on the waiting list (amazing considering I put her down on the list when she was 10 wks.)
Mummatotwo, what an awesome present. I went to Dreamworld when I was 16 and had the best time. I've been trying to convince DH it would be a great place for a holiday. I've been looking into the baby led solids/weaning, where you skip the mushy foods and go give them soft finger foods. I really like the idea behind it so I might give that a go when Ashlyn is about 6 months.
I have a jolly jumper but haven't used it yet. I think they're fine as long as you don't over do it. I used to put Danielle in it for about 5 minutes at a time and she loved it. Will have to go pull it out of the cupboard.
mto2-Yay for Nath! I am still pumping which I'm proud of!
OOps pressed post instead of go advanced!
mto2- We are going to wait until 6 months for solids. Emliy seems interested in food, she looks at it going into our motuhs and reaches out but she does that with everything!
Captain-I haven't read much about baby led solids but it sounds interesting. Will have a look.
Mel-So good his Dad is taking a big interest.
CJ-I had a dream last night I found out I was pregnant and due the same time as I had emily. I don't want them that close together! I want to see what sort of toddler Emily is going to be before we decide when to have another one. Madeline weighs the same as Emily, she was 6.7kg yest 200g up from the week before.
thanks ladies for ur comments
i'm getting liberty weighed in a fortnight when she gets her 4 month needles :S hopefully she doesn't crack it like last time!!
we've been thinking about baby number 2 and we have "only child days" where she is really ratty and we think yikes we're only having one but we've decided that if all goes well we'll try for number 2 when she's 10 months old so if i fell pregnant straight away (unlikely as it took me 9 months to fall pregnant with her, i still haven't got my periods back and i've never had regular periods anyway) that she would be about 20 months old when number 2 is born.
glad to hear that nathan is gaining well!! u must be so proud :D (and relieved) that is such a cool pressie from ur family! great idea too :) it'll give u something to do when the boys are restless.
with the rolling - liberty is the opposite, she can roll from tummy to back but not the other way around yet. she can roll onto her side from back but can't quite get over. sometimes on her tummy she does the butterfly/commando crawling. she gets really crappy lying on her back except if the tv is on, if its on she will wiggle around to face it (very cheeky) - does anyone else's baby try and watch tv?
jolly jumpers are ok if their feet can touch the ground flat. you need to try and discourage them from standing on tippy toes (which is a developmental stage anyway that comes before touching with flat feet). too much time with pointed toes however can do something to the muscles in the calf in the leg which is the reason why you try and keep them flat footed. i think for this age they recommend 5 minutes, 3 times a day??
we're also using a "walker" that doesn't walk around, iykwim?? we have a cushion on the bouncing pad for her to press off as she's not tall enough yet and we cushion up around her belly with terry towelling nappies as she's not big enough for it. she loves to look at hte toys on it.
i am cautious with walkers that move around because of iron cords, stairs, etc.
neither the jolly jumper or walkers have been proven to help babies learn to walk faster, but it certainly keeps them entertained!! :)
we tried a bumbo from my SIL but she hates being restricted (hates the car seat too atm which is a nightmare)
so glad to hear mel that his dad is getting involved a little more! should take lots of photos for bubby's sake.
i have heard about waiting for needles but we figured she had her 2 month and birth shots already. she's swam in my MIL's pool, our wading pool and the lake. She's going to swimming lessons in a fortnight which is exciting for me - something to do! although not looking forward to any kind of driving around as liberty screams - its awful.
as for breastfeeding, like i said on facebook to u jen its kind of going pear shaped as liberty's refusing the breast most of the time which is upsetting. she also prefers to look around then to feed most of the time anyway and so even with formula her average intake is about 70ml (rather than the recommended 200ml). suprisingly though she is still looking like she's fattening up even though she doesn't eat much. oh and teething is just adding to the dilema as when she does breastfeed she's on and off and pulling at the nipple. but my goal is to have her fully breastfed again by the time she starts solids which will be around 24 weeks?
anyway i'm off to ask questions in another forum about co-sleeping...
Lauren- Emily loves TV...she will struggle to turn and watch it, she takes after her mother which is a worry! I love tv! I have cut back so she doesn't learn to talk with an american accent like a friend of mine's little boy does cause he watches so many movies and tv shows!
Speaking of facebook if any wants to add me as their friend I'm Erin Johnstone. My profile pic is one of me and Emily. I think I'm the first one that comes up.
just added you erin, i love facbook... becoming a sad addiction during her sleep times!!
He looks 7 months old. He is in size 1's so that gives you an idea of how big he is lol
Sorry can't personalise, taking Ashton to meet the other grandparents today! They haven't seen him yet, only lots of photos which they have stuck all over the fridge haha
WISH ME LUCK!
Face book, I am Melissa Abbott... email is mel_abbott1984 at hotmail dot com
At last! Five minutes on BB! If you want to add me on Facebook, message me on msn or PM me on BB and I'll give you my id. (Trying to avoid my name appearing on the Google search engine)
It feels like it's a million degrees here today, although in reality it would only be mid 30s. I still have my father and stepmother visiting from Brisbane and it's been wonderful having them here. Matthew's really enjoyed his granddad's attention!
I was also able to go car shopping while they've been here and I accomplished mission impossible. Was able to visit several caryards, test drive a couple of cars, haggle prices and I've signed a contract on a Holden Astra wagon. Pick it up on Thursday, hopefully.
Matthew has his next lot of needles this Friday. Dreading it!!!!
Got to go, Matthew's a bit hot and bothered. Sorry for no personals!!
:D
I'm still Bf and comping, no Af yet so she must be getting all I can supply??? I have strated the Body transformation challenge an dalthough I don't feel hungry feel like my supply is dropping off!!! She may have the tip of a tooth through as well, could also be why she is'nt feeding as well off me..
My DH would like another baby. Truthfully I would too if I knew there was'nt going to be the bleeding problems, every pregnancy thus far has been the same, so not liking my chances. As much as it makes me sad I think I am finishing, it is on a great note. I don't want anymore MC or the stress of bleeding during pregnancy.
Swimming lessons are'nt available here until bubs is 6 months old, so we will hang off until after the winter.
I need to be on facebook I think, but don't have enough time as it is, so will have to wait till DS goes to school/ DD starts kinder which is only 12 months away.
Kerry good on you, getting the new car.. Great Matthew is getting to spend time with his grandad. Is your DP still coming around?
All my kids are TV addicts, as are DH and I:wall: genetically predisposed :o poor little chickens....
I thought in the jolly jumper they were supposed to be on their toes, so they don't injure their backs???? I will have to find out more before I bring ours out...??? All the others have used it and it is a great tool as they get frustrted by lack of mobility.
Anyway better get going so much to do and just not enough hours:wall:
Still bf here too, Pam. Tried to entice Matthew to take a bottle of formula last week but he wouldn't suck at all, spat out the formula and cried/screamed. Will keep trying every now and then though! I have a million bottles, three sterilising units and a bottle warmer, as well as a couple of tins of formula... When do you start them on solid food? And how?
My brother and his fiancee sent Matthew some swimming trunks and a legionnaires cap for Christmas - I'd love to take Matthew to the pool complex in Griffith! Maybe next week.
DP has only been to visit once and we've caught up at Wagga once. That was nearly a month ago. Matthew has grown so much since then. He's really missing out on seeing Matthew's first milestones. Which is sad.
Looking forward to getting the new car! And thinking about whether I'm insane to be contemplating taking Matthew to Hong Kong next month. If I could find someone who lived locally willing to look after my dog...
Horrible afternoon. Matthew cried and cried until he fell asleep. Couldn't console him. This is the second day he's done this. I really don't know what's wrong. I'll call the community health nurse tomorrow.
Hot!!!!Maybe teeth?? Poppy is not quite herself at the moment either!!!
OOOOOhhhh... trip to Honkers sounds fantastic, I'd be going maybe get seated somewhere near other kidlets so if he cries it won't be so bad.
You start on solids when they have an interest in you eating/or when they are just plain old hungry. They will lick their lips and watch every spoonful go in, or starting waking at night, increasing the amount they are drinking etc. You start on Farex the maternal health nurse will talk to you about it, next time you go most likely.
Sorry to hear that DP is'nt around much, boy is he missing out. (' - ')
Has anyone added any pics lately, save me searching the whole gallery. Seen little Em's latest ones, so cute, little smily one.
Hi girls, happy new year.. So sorry I haven't been on, I just can't seem to find the damned time anymore.
I am pretty sure Bella has a tooth just about through :o... she has a really big lump on her bottom gum and has been sooooo unsettled. She's also really fighting being wrapped to get the fist in her mouth and she just screams.
We are now fully formula fed, oh well, I did my best. Also have started a small amount of solids. She took to it really well but am wondering if it's a good idea cause she has not increased her milk intake at all. She only has 6 feeds of about 140mls and the tin says she should be having 200ml each feed. She's growing heaps though.
I am getting so frustrated with her sleeps now because she just can't seem to sleep unwrapped but is managing to break free within minutes of me getting her off to sleep and down into bed, so she just wakes herself up. She falls asleep no prob's in the pram when she has a little cuddle cloth beside her but I just can't seem to get the rest of the sleeps right:rolleyes:
Ok, gotta run and get the house semi tidied before hitting the hay.
nightie night. xx
jus tso you know, i am adding you all to facebook lol.
We are fully BF here still and finally my BB feel better :) He was pulling on them last week which ended up with me in pain this week :( But all good now!
Solids you should wait until they are 6 months. I started with vegies and fruit which I made myself at home :) Just pureed them myself. I started Jaidan early, at 4 months, and he got really bad eczema so I wish I had of waited :( Chase was almost 7 months. Ashton I will hold off till 6 months or later. You know when they are ready, they can hold their heads up, seem interested in food and don't spit it all out when you put it in. Also waking more frequently (but don't get this mixed up with growth spurts) which I waited until they had been doing it for over a week and a half before I introduced it. To start with it is only a very small amount, like a spoon full, and is just to teach them to eat, about textures and tastes. It isn't really to fill them up, they wont be eating a bowl or jar of food.
I really found making up pots of it helpful. When you get half an hour, cook up some apple, potato, carrot, broccoli, pear and then puree each one, put into containers/icecube trays etc and freeze. If you are using ice cube trays it is helpful to empty it into a bigger container once frozen to keep it nice :)
So on the news front here, Ashtons dad and I are back together :) We decided that we would give it another shot and I can't deny that I still love him, have since we split 8 months ago! So wish me luck :)
Jolly jumpers are great! I am getting the tigger one for Ash :) Not for a little while though, but I know he is going to love it! They should be flat footed, not tippy toed as this can cause issues with walking and calves later.
Ash has teeth coming I think, not as close as Bellas though Sue! But he has been chewing on everything the last few days and getting really cross (which is so out of character!!) Also feeding heaps and I ended up giving him dymadon tonight cos he was soooo sooky which is unlike him and he wouldn't sleep! Hope it pops through soon so he can go back to being his happy self!
Hope all the other bubs are well! I need to get to bed, it's soooo late!
I ask about the solids because i am going to hold off until around 8-10 months, till his gut is mature enough. Heaps can be found at kellymom.com
I had a terrible time with blakes gut health so we will be concentrating on baby led solids. i dotn care if he doesnt eat solids after 12 months.
Sue, do not listen to those stupid tins lol.
Blake NEVER had what they said. Sometimes more sometimes less. As long as bub is happy then its getting enough:)
I want to hold off with the solids as well. Danielle took to them so fast that I didn't realize she was having to much and ended up refusing bfing. Will take it a lot slower this time. Tribal baby dot com has some good info on baby led solids. They say 'food for fun until they're one.' There is also a group on BB under Breastfeeding, bottlefeeding and Solids. (Will post the link later when DH is up, my attempts failed:redface:)
I feel like I'm missing out not being on face book, but I think I just don't have the time, spend to much time on here as it is.
Ashlyn isn't rolling and she is only just starting to hold things, other then her dress . So it looks like she's taking things slow. Not that I mind, means she can be my baby for longer.
mummatotwo - funny that I wrote about how little that B drinks she has started today taking in an extra 50mls - yaaay...
mm84 - Oh I so wish Bella could get back to her old self again, I had the worst night last night and am quite grumpy myself today. The lump on her gum has gone down again, I am hoping it won't be a long process this teeth cutting.
captain - don't worry, I'm not on FB either, I just don't have the time. Bella is trying to roll but I don't care cause it will all happen when she's ready. She does hold things and puts them in her mouth LOL.
I am off to bed now. had a rediculous night with bubba last night. I am not used to crappy nights, she has always been good at night.
Thanks for the info re: introducing solids :) I wasn't sure whether to start him tasting things next month or not, will definitely hold off until after six months.
Mel, congratulations on getting back together with Ashton's father :) Sending lots of good luck vibes.
Sue, I had a funny night with Matthew last night, waking every two hours because he was fussing to be fed. Think it was because it was a hot night. Hot today too. 40 degrees at 2pm.
Pam, I've added heaps of pics to my Facebook album just the other day. I haven't been posting to the gallery here much. I have to work out how to reduce the picture file size on the Mac... I will get around to doing it though!
Going to Wagga tomorrow afternoon so that I can pick up the car on Thursday!! I think tomorrow is going to be ridiculously hot too. Dreading it!
Kerry - bet you are looking forward to your new car..... LOL, Bella had a much better night last night, she slept from 9pm til nearly 4am, I soooo needed the sleep. She doesn't cry, but just squirms and fidgets to get free of the wrap she is in. I am not looking forward to the day she isn't going to be wrapped anymore, she just sleeps so much sounder with her arms tucked in. We still co-sleep cause DF and I don't sleep together anyway. He is gone by 11pm and he snores so sleeps in a different room, so it's just me and Bella spooning LOL....
captain, Blake was crawling at this age, he was 4 months 2 weeks! so i am like you happy that nath is staying baby baby for a little longer, although he is already tucking his legs under and trying to push so i give him a month.
Sue, sounds like a bit of a growth spurt there! thats the thing with bottle feeding, you know what they are getting - i have no idea and i secretly wish i knew what he was getting out of me. I do know roughly what i am making each side - about 100 mls as i am expressing and donating for another bub so i am thinking he is taking about 150 - 200 a feed who knows!
I think nathan is havign a bit of a growth spurt too. He is waking up and feeding for 3 hours straight. We co sleep still so its not too bad, but i still have to switch sides or else i wake up with one DD cup and one A cup LOL. He is due for his 4 month shots on friday, i am really not liking doing it. I am almost tempted to not have him immunised something just doesnt sit right with me with it. But blake had rota virus a month or so ago, and it was horrific! I couldnt bear nath to get something like that at such a young age. But we managed it without anti b's and he is gaining all the weight he lost back.
Nath is rolling back to front and trying to get back onto his back at the moment, like i said he seems like he is on the way to crawling. And getting 2 bottom teeth - blake is cutting some molars at the moment too, so its been damn fun in this household!
Has anyone used amber beads for their kids? I am thinking of getting some for nathan rather then dosing him up full of panadol and crap.
How is everyone recovering from the holiday season? DP has finally gone back to work *phew* so our routine is getting back in place.
Also, i wanted to ask, this is the first time i have breast fed a bub and i know the rule for pooping is 1-10 days is normal. Nath is normally a every second dayer, but he is going onto his 5th day now. I am scared to take him out of the hosue in case we have an explosion!!! Is 5 days ok even though he was quite regular?
Mummatotwo, don't stress about the poo. Ashlyn does the same thing, sometimes it's every second day, sometimes she goes a week. When it happens she does a couple in one day so we don't have poosplosions, thankfully. Wow, crawling at 4 months, he didn't want to stay still did he? When did he walk? Ashlyn is not showing signs of doing much, she just loves people talking to her and playing with her, a real social butterfly.:D
Sue, glad your getting more sleep, I know how hard it is without.
Kerry, have fun with your new car.
Mel, hope things work out how you want with Ashton's dad. It's great that he's getting so involved with his boy.:D
Nothing changed here, still not getting much sleep. Not sure how much longer I can cope on so little sleep and coping with a 3 yo who can't wait till kindy and ballet start again in Feb. I think Ashlyn actually feeds more at night then during the day. Last night I started trying to extend her feed times. She woke at 9.30-feed, 11pm-feed, 2.30 I tried to resettle her, she was nearly asleep too, but at 3.30 decided she really was hungry so I fed her put her down and she promplty threw up, so a complete sheet change and she was back to sleep at 4am, woke 5.30-resettled, she's still asleep atm (7.30) but Danielle woke up just before 7 so I feel blah! I off to see the CHN today to see if she has any ideas, though I am after a bit more of a gentle parenting approach, def no CC. Will see how we go.
Hope you dont mind me coming into this thread. Xavier was born 28th Sept but no one seems to post in my thread and I do read and keep up with you all in this thread.
A little history I moved to Brisbane from the UK at 32 wks pregnant and had Xavier on due date. He is my second child I have a daughter Erykah who is 3 1/2 born in Melbourne. We lived there for 3 yrs before moving back to the UK and now we are settling into life in Brisbane.
Well I can sympathise with Captain on the sleep front I feel like Xavier feeds more at night than during the day. From about 7pm he cluster feeds I got him down last night by 8.30 and he woke again at 9.30 for a feed. Got him back to sleep and then he woke at 1, 4 and then up at 6.30 that was a good night. I am thankful that he goes straight back to sleep after feeding as my daughter had me up most of the night. He has reflux and is on Zantac which I tried to take him off over new year but he was very distressed and unsettled so I put him back on to it. He has 2mls a day so I have reduced it by a ml to the doseage the dr said.
I dont co sleep but he sleeps in a cot in our room for the moment I am moving him into his room when our visitor leaves at the end of Jan.
I have taken Xavier for his first swim lesson this morning. He was due a sleep typical and so was a little tetchy. I was not entirely happy with some of the things they were expecting him to do and he was crying. I felt all clumsy with the holds they wanted us to do and he was wriggling and I felt like he could slip out of my hands at any moment.
I wonder if there is something wrong with me as I love water really love swimming but I am very nervous with my kids around water. I just cant relax and to see Xavier with his face going into the water had me all panicked
Oh got to dash as Xavier waking up so best feed him
Will be around again soon
Jo
Captain, he didnt walk till 12 - 13 months.. so its def no indicator of that (well not that i beleive)
and he isnt an advanced bub, still barely talks.
welcome jo! i feel the same with Liberty in the bath so dh baths her. i've been practicing in the wading pool as there's more space and i don't have to worry about bumping her head on the tap. she goes to swimming next week and although i'm a bit nervous, at least there's an instructor to help if she does slip through my hands and swallows too much water. the little wiggle worm has slipped through before so she'll probably do it again. her latest trick is sucking our arms and legs when we're in the wading pool or bath to suck up the water. :D
i loved reading about baby-led solids so thanks ladies for telling me about it, i'll have to show brett.
breastfeeding is going to crapola as she's been doing lots of breast refusal and will only breastfeed if in a deep sleep ? I put a message on ur face book thank u so much jen for telling me about the forums on the aba website. i am a subscriber but haven't really been on their website much. thankfully it seems like loads of people go through the same thing when their baby is 4 months old so its not just me. i've been trying lots of different tricks. i think its because she has been on alternate feeds and bottle is easier than breastfeeding? i'm trying to hand-express to get a let down before i put her on too. i'm also trying to return to full time breastfeeding as she seems to be better now too.
captain - liberty wakes up heaps in the night too. my "good" night last night was only getting woken up 4 times. thankfully i don't have another little one to run around after in the morning *bigs hugs to you*
speaking of poo-splosions. yesterday she hadn't pooed in a few days and when I put her in her swimmers she did a small poo in them so I went to change her and from the changetable she pooed all on the wall, the cd player, the cds (beause of course I don?t put them away properly) ? whoops!!
Well my ?10 minutes? (don?t get me started on this) is up and hubby?s over watching her (he?s already asked me 3 times when I?m coming back?)
Hi Ladies,
Welcome jo. We are a pretty good posting bunch here. We have our quiet times but are posting up a storm at the moment.
Lauren :-( that bf is "crapola" I hope Liberty gets the hang of it again. Your FB says you have to move, how come? Where do you live now?
That sounds like a nasty poo!
Captain- i hope you get some help with your sleep. I'm starting to get anxious emily's good sleeping will change soon becuase she is just about too big for the bassinet and we need to move her to her cot in her own room. No cc for us either. Pinky McKay is coming to sydney and doing a sleep seminar so I'm going to that on the 17th Jan. I'm hoping she has some good tips. I like her books.
mto2- i have never heard of amber beads? Your fb said nath was feeding for 3 hours ...how are your boobs after that!?
Sue- I think amounts on the cans are a ploy to make u use more formula!
Emily is having her needles tomorrow, it doesn't sit totally right with me either but I will still do it. I've heard Some daycare places in our area won't take kids without them.
I'm not looking forward to DH going back to work on Monday. It has been nice having him around, he's been getting up to Em every second day sometimes every day, while he's been on hols. It will be good to get back into our routine tho.

ok bub's in bed now, finally!! we live on the coast of northern nsw, near tweed. we got a letter from the real estate because the owner wants to move back in. they gave us until march 13. thing is hubby's work is still tentative and we're not sure how much longer it will continue and he's been applying for other jobs but hasn't gotten anything yet. so we don't want to sign another lease until we know what's happening with his work. hopefully a place will come up for rent that's for sale at the same time so we can do a monthly lease again. but the reason why we don't know where we want to move is because we'd like to live a little further south near our friends in the mullum/byron area or near brett's sister down ballina way but then the jobs are up near my family in brisbane (but we're not keen on living in the city again). so fingers crossed either we are able to get a monthly lease somewhere or he gets another job between now and march!!
sorry about my little poopy before, just getting frustrated that as soon as she cries dh hands her back to me and that he feels like he doesn't know what he's doing so he would prefer to be playing army computer games than to give me a break...*sigh* men!! and he's all stressed because of his job, not knowing where we're going to live, etc and b/c of new years with my MIL (which is another whole big drama, long story short she was really drunk and wanted to hold liberty and hubby said no and we were out for dinner and let's just say she wasn't quiet about being upset she wasn't able to hold bubby) she's now threatening to run away... i seriously need a reality tv show of my life!! anyway she's been on the phone heaps to hubby doing the whole "no one loves me" bla bla so he's busy with her... hmmmm wondering if my AF is coming soon the way i'm grumping haha...
Just popping in quick to say I SEE 2 TEETH! Almost through, thank GOODNESS because he has been SO cranky!!
Ashtons dad and I are going great! You know those dads you see that carry their babies everywhere and play with them all the time... I HAVE THAT :D He walks in the door from work at about 3pm (he gets up at 3am to start at 4am) and he just plays with Ashton. It's so nice.
Well Ashton has started pushing backwards when he is on his tummy lol he made it into the other room yesterday!
Hope all the bubs are well! I can't believe Ashton is 4 months old today!

Hi Al hope you all doing great
Jo, welcome I see your the same age as me I moved over here when I was 29 weeks pregnant from Ireland I had joined the forum well before that and came through with all these wonderful ladies in our due date thread, they are a great bunch so stick with us. :D
Mummatotwo! crawling that early lol I would be so proud but so upset at the same time, you want them to say little for as long as you can dont you, well done on donating your breastmilk to another baby thats brilliant. I think as well when we express they say that baby will get more cant remember how much they say extra they get, im sure you know that all ready though.
eej Eireann has to have her tomorrow as well, I hope she is ok.good luck with Emily, I fed Eireann the last time, its meant to help with the pain.
Lauren sounds like things are not great for you, its awful living in limbo land and wondering what to do isnt it. My Dh is a welder and his company shut down and let every one go just before christmas, now he cant get work at all here in Brisbane or sunshine coast. he got a job working on a racetrack cutting grass and that . at least its something.
well today has been a nightmare, My 2 year old fell and banged his head off the tiles, I knew when i heard the bang it was bad, I ran over picked him up, he was doing the slient scream were they hold their breath. but I sat down with him and he got sick every were. which scared the life out of me. to make matters wore I had no credit and my phone was dead. I was chatting on gmail chat to a good friend in Brisbane so she rang DH to tell him to come home. thank god for the internet I say. he is ok now they kept him in a while and sent us home. He is fast asleep so ill have to check on him in a while to make sure he is ok.
but they weighed him and I was able to weigh Eireann she is 6.16kgs does that sound about right for her age. Shane was 12.6 kgs he is 3 in April Im wondering if he is on the small side .
oh to top that off we were buying a van off ex friends, giving them money each week and we have just paid the rego and had to pay a fortune on getting it fixed it was always breaking down, but we were happy with it. well we got a phone call and they want to have it back, they want money upfront or give it back so they know with it just been christmas and DH not having a job for nearly a month we havent got the cash. so we have to give it back. they wont even give us back the rego we paid. we thought something was up when they wouldnt give us the rego sticker.
any way that my lot for today. take care xx
