Poppy was weigh and measured today, but Maternal Health Nurse did'nt record it??? I remember her height though 65.5cm, so nice and tall. I think she was about 6.8kgs the little pudding.:rolleyes:

OMG, I'm starting to realize how much of a little chubby Ashlyn is. I just had her weighed and she was 7.7kg and is only 63cm long.:o CHN didn't have any more ideas on the sleep issues. She said I'm doing everything right, it's just a matter of time before she should start sleeping a bit longer.
Niamh, I'd be fighting the ex friend, especially after all the money you've put into the car. Hope this is the last tie you have to them and you want have to deal with them again. Hope your little one is feeling better. His weight sounds fine for a 2yo.
Mel, poor Ashton, hope the teeth come quickly. That's great that your partner is such a big help.

Pam, how's the challenge going for you? Has your milk supply settled? I've been using my milk as a gauge to see how much I should eat, so if it drops I just eat/drink a bit more. Seems to be working.
I have to say, I love my Hug-a-bub! We went to AQWA (aquarium of WA) and it was really crowded. But with the sling I didn't have to worry about trying to push through crowds with a pram. Had a good day.
Matthew had his needles this morning and so far, touch wood, is all right. No high temperatures like last time. Thank goodness! A very quick weigh in (proper check will be done next Friday) and Matthew was 7.85kg dressed in singlet, nappy and cotton shorts. I guess that's good.
Picked up car from Wagga yesterday okay - disturbingly, the on board computer kept flashing up: check coolant level, for the last part of the journey. Put a cup of water in this morning as it was a bit low and all fine now. I'll book it in for a service next week and have the radiator checked. I'm surprised as it's basically a new car and shouldn't be having those sorts of problems with only 6500km on the clock, even if it's a 2006 model. Sigh. It still looks pretty, but, and I like looking at it, all clean and white, in the driveway. :lol:
Welcome Jo! Swimming lessons sounds like a great idea but I'd be a bit panicked too and I would hate it if Matthew cried. I almost start crying myself when he's really upset!
Captain, those slings are great. I lashed out yesterday morning and bought a carry frame to wear Matthew on my back for when he gets a little heavier. I figure it will be handy when I'm in Hong Kong with him. I must start looking at air tickets!

Sue, it's lovely co-sleeping - except when they turn into wriggle worms! I'm sure Matthew chases me from one side of the bed to the other some nights. No way he would accept being wrapped now, he doesn't like anything over him. Little monkey.
Mummatotwo, sounds like tooth city at your place. How did Nath's needle day go? On the poo front, Matthew sometimes is filling his pants two to three times a day. We go through so many nappies, I should have shares in Huggies.

Wanna hear something funny - not ha ha funny but weird funny?
So last night I had this weird dream, I cannot remember much about other than I was handed this baby girl and was told she was mine and her name was "Ebony Rose" eeeerrrr yeah not keen on the name so much but I wake up in a coughing fit and need to go out to the couch so I don't bother DH with my coughing. Yep you guessed it still sick.
Can you believe 18 days and counting.
Anyhoo you may or may not have read that my period has been delayed due to my illness I think I am around 18-20 dpo. I have done 2 HPT both with a :bfn: result.
DH has been walking around going "I am such a stud your UTD" and I am like "NO way man the HPT don't lie I am NOT pregnant, my nipples aren't darker, I don't even feel pregnant, I am just late because I have been so sick and all the meds I have been on have affected everything"
DH doesn't believe me so to prove he is NOT such a stud I buy another HPK get home from work and go and do it.
I don't cheat, so I just left it to cook and 3 min later we both went and checked the test and I'll be damned I got a :bfp: :loveshower: :clap: :dance:
Now I am still a little skeptical, about the result given that I had 2 negative results and I won't get toooooo excited about it until I get a little u/s and see that hb but

Niamh - I think you post on British expats your ex friends need someone to treat them the way they have treated you. If i was you I wouldnt hand the car back until they pay the Rego. Do you have a receipt for payment??? Cheeky buggers you dont need enemies with friends like them do you??
Well I am not sure what is going on with my little man he is so unsettled all of a sudden in the evenings yeah I know its normal but to get to 13wks and then start. He had bad reflux at 4wks and this is well under control but suddenly he wont settle if laying flat again even though he has been able to for the last 7 or 8 wks. I dont get it. I have looked at the gums and no sign of any teeth even though he chews his hands and dribbles a lot recently. His bum is a little red and he has gone from poos every 10 days to every other day.
I am tired from spending all evening getting him settled to then go to bed at 10pm and get woken every 2 hrs with him wide awake. At 5am he is screaming in his sleep and wakes himself up.
I had him self settling but that is now back out the window.
Oh well wont be stressing too much his routine will change all over again soon (I hope)
I got an appointment with the physio for my pelvic floor as I have leakage since having my first child not much but enough to bother me.
I have not gone with the swimming lessons having spoken to friends they all thought what they expected me to do with a 3 mth old as not on. One friend said that the baby should always have bodily contact with the mother to feel reassured. He was happy when close to me but when I had to push him towards the side while grasping his thighs and his head going into the water due to been too tired to hold his head up and screaming I said enough is enough and got out the pool. I am going to take him to the heated pool when not warm enough outside and if its warm enough take him into our pool.
Anyway I am heading to bed as shattered and both my kids are now tucked up in bed. Question is for how long !!!!!!! DH is fast asleep shattered from getting up with DD at 6am every morning

Nae - OMG I am so.... happy for you. I just knew that Niki was sending a little angel down for you to take care of! I am so glad that all your dreams are about to come true. And in 9 months you'll be able to tell your bub about their big sister who's watching over them as their guardian angel! You're gonna be the best mum.
Emme too is cutting those teeth even more ferociously now, and has had the red bum to prove it!!! Also the reflux is getting worse even with the anti-refux formula, as it's even more acidic and you can tell that she is hating the taste when it comes up. I'm going to make a normal doctors appointment as well as an appointment for her immunisation next week.
Niamh - you are able to refuse to give the car back if you have been giving them payments already that are able to be verified. If you have not missed a payment then they have no legal reason to go back on your agreement and they do have to pay you back your rego if you agree to give the car back. You can sue them to ge it back and not only would they have to give it back they would also have to pay court costs. Call & have a chat to the Legal Aid line( I'm sure it's Australia wide). I think it's time these people got some of their "friendliness" given back to them. I also think it's NOT a coincidence that they waited till after the rego was paid till they asked for it back.
As for me well times are good and times are bad.
Around xmas & new year I thought my ex and i were going to move back in together and give it another go, but when I mentioned I was going to go looking for houses it was as though he'd totally taken himself out of the picture of us all being together. Then I mentioned that the 1 bedroom granny flat at his parents really isn't suitable for 2 kids to be in especially as Emme is already commando crawling and there's no room in there, so he would have to start looking for something else for himself anyway, and he starts telling me that I'm being offensive to him and he's not putting up with it. Anyway I told him no I wasn't being offensive, just realistic about the kids as they need room.
Anyway he asked me to leave and so I'm not going up there again as I will never be put in that position of being asked to leave a second time!
I actually think he really wants to live with his mum & dad for as long as possible as he pays no rent & they buy his meals and even cook them for him. Last week when I opened his fridge it had cartons of 3 different types of beer, but no food in it, just some frozen mini pizzas in the freezer for Bella. I mean as I said to him he has to start acting like a responsible father as his mum & dad are not their parents - he is. And he has to start cutting down on luxuries like alcohol & start buying stuff for the kids. In the 11 months since we've been seperated he has not bought 1 car seat for them instead he was just borrowing mine, as well as the pram. So he has been living off everyone else and then buying tons of alcohol & cigarettes. I just wonder if I should just give up, because even if I do love him I wonder if he could ever change and become a responsible partner & father. A fridge full of just beer might be hilarious if your a 18 yr old single guy, but to me it just seems pathetic for a 37 yr old father of 2.
Anyway enough about me it's just too depressing.
I hope all your bubs are making this the start of the best year ever!

Nat, sorry things aren't working out with your ex. Your right, totally not appropriate for a 37 year old man. Sounds like his parents are making it to easy for him to do nothing. I wish I could offer you some advice but my heads all over the place atm.
I've just had a really bad start to them morning. You know when the phone rings at 5am that somethings not right. DH was at work and some little **** has hit him over the head with some sort of weapon. He's in hossy with fractures through his cheek bone and is waiting to have an MRI as he's been feeling nauseas. I'm just waiting for babysitters so I can head up to the hossy. DH said the police caught the idiot, but seriously what is wrong with people these days.:(

Matt used to borrow everything of mine and never buy anything until I stopped it. I said no more and he went and brought 2 boosters and clothes and things. Maybe you should say no.

Well yesterday I took Ash to the beach for the first time. I am not a beach fan myself, I hate the things that live in the water, and am not particuarly fond of sand in everything, so I usually go to a pool lol Well he loved it!
Must have worn him out because he went to bed like normal at 9ish and slept till.... 7.30!!!!!!!!!! I was awake at 6 because my boobs were sore and rock hard but I didn't want to wake him so left him and I was getting antsy by 7 lol Hope it will be a regular thing!
Teething is still happening, and I can't see anything coming through yet, just the 2 lines that he had last week! Wish it would happen already lol Brought bonjella yesterday and that stuff is awesome lol except he HATES the taste. I have to get a photo. The face he pulls is hillarious, but the crying isn't :(
Natalie, your ex sounds like he needs to do some growing up. He obviously thinks he's on a good thing living with his parents rent free and if they're cooking him his dinners. I can't believe he asked you to leave. And that he just keeps borrowing stuff from you. What a !@#!$ You and the girls deserve better.

Matthew has been grizzly this morning. I ended up giving him a dose of panadol because he was screaming and I couldn't settle him by feeding him, changing him, walking him around or playing music to him. He's finally gone to sleep. Poor little thing. :(

we are having major problems with the computer and internet. Blackducckies, I went out esp on saturday to weigh my self and couldnt find a scales. Ill have to head up to the Plaza I think, I know there are some there. Ill be ready for wednesday weigh in. trying to make sure i driink lots of water and keep the exercise up, sowly but surley Ill get there.
Eireann has been a little sore after her injections, two big hard lumps and so red on her legs. i feel so bad for her. I just know they are hurting her.I got some nice gel for her gums it really works, the face she makes is brill but then she spends about half an hour with her tounge going mad. very cute and she looks so happy:D
oh yea we have decided not to after the van, we are cutting our losses and letting it go, Im so sick of arguing now, My dh told them not to come near us looking for money for made up bills we have had it and it ends now.we have also decided to go home to Ireland for a while. so we are heading in 4 weeks time when our lease ends. im so excited to see my family and show off Eireann, when we come back we are heading to Brisbane or may be some were else completly in Australia. I feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders now, we are rid of them, I will be sending her a nice long a waited email saying exactly how I feel. just so she know we knew what they were up to and that will be that.oh my Dh also said to him that if it had been any one else he would have knocked him out by now. but if he wants any one to blame for the situation he should look to his own door.

Well yesterday was fun (not). Spent most the day with DH in the emergency room. Had to take Ashlyn with me cause she's still bf. It as a really long day but Ashlyn loved all the attention she was getting from the staff. After 8 hours without food or drink and feeding Ashlyn heaps to try and stop any crying and disturbing other people, I was stuffed. Luckily one of the staff noticed I was bf and went and got me some sandwiches which was really nice of her. Dh was allowed home last night but we are waiting for a phone call to find out which hospital he needs to go to today for surgergy to put his cheek back together. Poor Danielle refuses to look at him.
Well I'd better go cause I've got a tonne of stuff to get done. BBL for personals

Teeth already sounds a bit scary to me, Mel. I know they have to happen but I'm thinking ouch on the breastfeeding front. I've already had a couple of mum friends graphically describe what it can be like and my toes curled. Maybe they were kidding??
Pam, no AF here either. Looking forward to having Matthew's measurements done on Friday so I can find out whether he really is getting enough from me. Sometimes he feels really light to me and looks skinny despite his chubby face. Reverse anorexia nervosa?
Don't want to think about how uncomfortable the next few days will be, the Bureau's forecasting some hot ones for us until the end of the week.

Um updates...
Mum got good news from the docs. One of her tumors is gone and the other one seems to have shrunk. She has to come back down for a PET scan 12th Feb and goes back for more results on the 9th April. Fingers crossed that all goes well.
That was last week so after she went there Molly and I drove her home. On the way there we stopped to visit my Aunty Ella, who was visiting from interstate, at my cousins house. They clucked and fussed over Molly who was on her best behaviour and charmed the pants off everyone. Molly laughed smiled and chatted to everyone there. At one stage I was laughing because there were three people sitting on the couch all entranced looking at Molly. It looked funny.
My dad as usual stole Molly whenever we were home. He absolutely loves her. When we were there mum was buying Molly stuff telling me not to tell my dad, while at the same time my dad was slipping me money to buy Molly stuff.
Molly the apple of my eye is growing like a weed. She is currently still sick. Her cold looked like it was going away until Saturday she woke up with a chesty cough. I took her to the docs and she is on antibiotics.
She is starting to grab things that are laying on her such as her bib or chain links. She also has a tag blanket that she loves to grab too.
Last week she started doing this weird little tongue click thing. She still hates being on her stomach and I have given up pushing her to do it. she only does it for less than five minutes and no more than 2 times a day. Otherwise she just cries hysterically. Molly much prefers to to sit up on your knee and survey the world.
I have to put her in her pram now and not the bassinette attachment so she can see around. Tomorrow I am getting her car seat installed because she is nearly grown out of the capsule. My baby is getting so big.
Molly's other new trick is attempting to roll over from her back (another reason I am not worried about tummy time because she won't have a choice soon). She lifts her legs up and rolls to her side. And that is where she stays. She straitens out but can't get any further so not long now :)

captain - i hope your hubby recovers quickly and glad to hear that they caught the guy, sending lots of *coping hugs* your way as I can imagine you'll be having a rough time with trying to manage looking after the two children plus hubby too as he recovers.
kerry - my SIL told me that her son took a chunk out of her nipple when he got teeth, gross. but apparently if they are attached properly because their tongue goes between their bottom lip and your nipple they shouldn't be able to bite. this is the theory anyway!! has matthew settled down as you were saying the other day he was a bit grizzly?
Mel - Liberty loves the taste of bonjella but hates the SM33 gel for teething. I was thinking about taking her to the beach too, how did you find it with the sun?? Has he continued being an angel sleeper since then?? how's things going with his dad?

Niamh - don't worry i feel the same, i live away from friends and family so bellybelly is my saving grace sometimes to stop me from feeling lonely!! i actually asked the "new" mothers group (for 0-3 months) lady if i could continue coming again if we still stay in the area just for some social contact. i think a fresh start sounds like a good idea too.

Liberty just had her needles today, went way better than last time. She had a two hour sleep afterwards and is playing happily atm next to me. Mind you, I did give her panadol afterwards!!
i saw a bubby there who was 8.4kg at a week younger then liberty and WOWSERS!! He was HUGE!! (He was actually born the same day as your little boy Kerry) I am absolutely still in shock at seeing how big he was and he is apparently in size 1 already too!! Is that about the same size as your boy Mel?? You'd said that he was a big bubby but I hadn't actually pictured 8kg to look that big! You must have great arm muscles!!

Just to say yet I am still around and trying to get a post in but with an active toddler or little girl I just dont get chance and Xavier is unsettled on an evening that goes out the window then.
I struggle to keep in regular contact with friends and family back in the UK too. I should get chance to post on thursday as my little girl is at daycare.

Niamh - Hope you have a good time back in Ireland. Rug up as the aussies say as you will feel the cold in feb!!! Rather you than me. I found it really hard over here first time round (2003 - 2006 in Melbourne) I was lonely and found the whole different culture a shock. This time round well although I had never been to QLD it wasnt a culture shock and I am so settled and dont miss anything about home.
If you do move to Brisbane please get in touch for a meet up there are a few expats mums who meet every week and without them I would be feeling lonely and isolated.
I think you and your DH are amazing for not having clocked your ex friends one by now. I would have you dont need enemies with friends like them.

I think Xavier is teething as he is dribbling and chewing everything bless him cant use anything other than nurofen or panadol as he is only 3.5 mths.
Dont you just wish they could occassionally tell you what is wrong and cut out the guessing games we have to play.
I am hanging out for him to sleep through. The nest I have had so far is waking once in the night and that has only happened 3 times - not counting or anything LOL
I am not taking him to swimming lessons I have decided. I will take him myself and play then I dont waste money if we cant go for a reason like sleep time or ill.
A quick question what do those in Brisbane put their babies in at bedtime? I never know what to put him in. The fan is overhead so makes his arms cold so I put a long sleeved top with a nappy and then a 0.5 tog grobag. I worry that when it gets over 28 in our room now the air con isnt working that he might get too hot. I kept the room at 26 - 27 with the air con.

Joh, I know the sleeping is crazy. I think my sleep tally is similar to yours, lol. I decided that I have to start doing something about it rather than waiting for it to get better. So I'm doing a dream feed at about 10pm and then when she wakes at 12-1am I just put her back to sleep. She now only feeds twice a night, but still needs settling a couple of other times. Hopefully gets better soon.
Lauren, glad Liberty's okay after her needles. Yeah, I feel like I'm looking after 3 children atm, lol. Nah not that bad, DH is actually not in to much pain. Wow, sounds like that was a big bub. Ashlyn is near the 8 kg mark but is still in size 00, so she's just wide, lol. I really need to get a photo up.
Donna, so glad that your mum is doing better. Sounds like she's close to rolling, so cute. They are just growing so fast.
Kerry, don't stress to much about the teeth. Danielle never bit me. Has Matthew ever bitten you before?
Niamh, a trip home sounds like a great idea. I bet your family can't wait to see Eireann. I can understand why you just want to give the car back and just be done with the whole thing.
Pam, that's great that your still bf. Must still be doing well with no AF. No AF here, but I did get it after 6 weeks with Danielle.
Well things have improved here. Dh went from definately having surgery, to maybe having surgery some time next week. Seems while the fractures are extensive, there is no damage to his eyeball and any surgery would mainly be for cosmetic reasons. But I think Dh would rather have a slightly lopside face than have to have metal plates and screws put in. Will see how we go.
I think DH was really happy today. I wanted to go shopping so he said he would look after Ashlyn for me. By the time I got back he had played with her then realized she was tired and put her to bed! Yay for DH!! Ashlyn has no sign of teeth coming through now and still hasn't made attempts to roll over. Oh well I'm sure she'll get there!:D

Mel - Yeah I know how you feel. I had gotten my hopes up, but I suppose in the end I have to do what's right for me and the girls. If he feels it's his right to treat me so badly, I'd only be inviting further trouble in the future.
Isn't it strange how many of us are are by ourselves with bubs that are so young. What the h**l is it with these guys????
Emme is also about to pop some teeth through. I'll be really happy as it may stop her shoving her whole fist down her throat and causing her to vomit. I'm taking her to the octors for her injections tomorrow (today?) and also getting her reflux checked on as it has gotten worse in the last 3/ 4 weeks and the cover in her throat should really have been closing over by now. Hopefully I'll find out more then.
Emme loves the water, she's a natural and loves splashing about. She also has to be forced into the bouncer to keep her on her back, as I have named her my roly-poly girl!

Niamh - I can totally understand you needing to distance yourself from all the stress you've been through. I hope that you have only good things to look forward to from now on, as you deserve to have good memories of this time in your child/ childrens life. Don't worry karma will come & bite thm on the bum!
Captain - I was shocked to hear what happened to your DH, I hope that he heals quickly & as I said to Niamh - karma will bite them.
Jo - I totally hear you on not having any time to do anything. Bella will be 3 in April, and Emme is commando crawling & needs to see everything around her. She's even moving off her blankie. :o:o:o
Indie - Your post made me laugh as Emme continually pulls out her dummy by grabbing onto the link chain it's attached to and pulling hard. She also likes pulling my hair.
Have to go now and put Emmme back to sleep. As you can tell by the time of my post I've been suffering from insomnia lately. Prob just a bit depressed by everything!:cry:

Hope you are all doing well.
I had to come on and post we had a couple of firsts today
Xavier had his first official haircut (I cut it myself at 7wks) in a hairdressers. She said he was the youngest at 15wks old. It was getting long and he gets all sweaty here in Brissy.
I put him on his playmat on his back while I was in the kitchen with one of his toys. I looked at him after 5 mins he had rolled over and was facing a completly different way. When I went over to ask what he thought he was doing he just laughed at me. So cute.

Lauren, big DD is still out of home, does'nt intend on coming back. Makes me so sad.... but on a brighter note we see each other and we text each other often, she ends her texts with Luv u xxxx which is nice. I am still hopeful that one day she will see these people are'nt the bees knees, but at the moment they are giving her the freedom that she wants and that we won't allow?????????!!!!!!!:doh:
Well I had my thyroid biopsy yesterday, scary but not so bad after all, conincided with my aunty who had thryoid cancers funeral.... a good omen I am hoping, kind of like she is looking out for me. I was going to try to change the date, but decided that it was meant to be that way. It was a nice service, a celebration of her life and the fighter that she was.

Niamh - I was telling my DF about what has happened to you lately and he couldn't beleive it. I just hope that if/when you do return to Australia you find the place for you. Definately give your X friends a serve I say. Why not come to Brissie ;)..
Jo - OMG, a haircut already, he must have a heap of it to spare then hey. Yep definately hot here is Bris, Bella's head is always stinky, especially with the cradle cap..

Both my kids have a full head of thick black hair. Daddy is Sri Lankan so they get a beautiful skin colour and brown eyes and hair to die for!!!!

Nicambhar - good luck with the needles we have our on the 28th so a few days to go yet but not looking forward to it. I agree if Niamh returns to Oz and I hope she does as we have lived here before and then moved home only to return 2 yrs later and it is an expensive hobby moving from one side of the world to the other and it is always playing on your mind what if and eventually does your head in. Now I dont think too much of the UK as otherwise I find I am feeling guilty for moving away from friends and family and the whole kids thing. Sorry now I am waffling I mean to say I hope she does come to Brisbane as it is a great place to live and I for one would be up for a meet. Where do you live out of interest? I am at Wavell Heights North Brisbane.
Anyway if I dont get on before next week have a good weekend everyone

missymoo84 - Thanks for the info on membership may look into it. Thanks for the compliment on my little man. He is cute but I would say that being his mum and yes loads of hair. I cut his hair first at 7wks and yesterday was his first cut in the hairdressers. I got away with it for my daughter until she was 1 by letting it grow cant really do that with a boy. It is gonna cost me in hair cuts for sure
I am melting in the heat in Brisbane today. I am waiting for Xavier to go to sleep then off in the pool with Erykah for a swim to cool down.
