Hi everyone,
yeah I think we're all getting quieter because the bubs are getting more mobile!
Went out today and was drooling over alot of the 'Jack & Milly' winter clothes at Myer and dreaming of what I will buy the kids when I win Lotto! :p
Also got Bella some Dora the Explorer undies as we're toilet training. Honestly she is a Dora freak.She can spot the face from a mile away and will scream out "Dora!"
I'm cutting back on the Dora items but I thought the Dora undies would be an encouragement to go to the toilet.
Emme has started watching me talking and has been purposefully babbling. And her first 'official' word has been "Mum"!!!! She has been repeating it without prompting, and she says it when she either wants me, or sees me!!! I am in heaven. :lol::lol:
A whole lot of teeth are sitting near the surface so I a expecting a few to break through together. My whole face has been gummed out. She particularly likes noses!:lol:
My house really felt like a home on Thursday when I got my lounge as itmade the room feel homey, and my butt was happy as I don't have to sit on a wooden dining chair, or my wooden floor.
Indie, it always drives me insane when people feel it is their right to comment on how a mother brings up their children. As long as there is no abuse going on, and a child is happy, everyone has the right to bring up their child as they see fit. Children are not carbon copies of each other, and each child has the right to be treated as individually as their parents see fit. Anyway off my high horse now!:rolleyes:

Donna - Molly so sounds like Arabella, she has rolled a couple of times and now nothing. DF told me that his DD did nothing whatsoever and then at 9 months she just got up and starting walking :o. Our house isn't too baby proof atm, am working on it though.
eej - Yep so peeved about the itty bitty. I sent an e-mail asking for a replacement cause they have a 6 month replacement g'tee. I have a cushie tooshie coming to me as well, the retro spotty one. Out of all of my nappies I think I would definately say the magicall minky's are my fav - IB's take aaaaages to dry.
Captain - sent an e-m to IB, lets hope I get it replaced. We have had our local sizzler renovated and it's so lovely, the food even had a makeover I think cause I wasn't really a fan of sizzler before. Funny that you say about it not being good for the diet, I just ate what i wanted there one night and lost .4kg the next morning LOL, I don't eat all my points so the weight loss has slowed for me. Had a fair bit of stress lately but am getting back on the diet wagon on monday, I haven't put on but I haven't lost either - so far 4.5kgs.
Nat - Oh yes, how lovely are the winter clothes. I should start getting some warmer gear cause i can feel the mornings are getting a little fresh and Arabellas arm are like iceblocks when she wakes. Yay for the new lounge, bet you felt like sleeping on it when you got it.

hi everyone!! i love reading what you're all up to. Liberty is really on the move now. Nothing is sacred anymore haha. The other day she crawled over to my parent's dog and yanked at its hair, I had to dive in between her and the dog so it bit me instead. Its quite a placid dog but not when its hair's being pulled out!! She also managed to get over to the ironing board when I was trying to get her food ready and pulled at the legs of it nearly pulling the iron onto her!! It's happened so fast so now we're frantically trying to baby-proof and train my brother and sister not to leave hot drinks around, etc.
One of my nappies went crunchy too, not sure why. Its a very old cushie tushie, probably needs retiring but I'm going to take it apart and redo the elastic and everything to revive it again. I have one itti bitti and I love it - great fit, super soft and no leaks yet. It does take a while to dry but nothing like what a fitted takes to dry!! I have a twinkle lily fitted that takes over 2 days to dry in the sun!! So don't worry about your other ittis, I'm sure it you just had bad luck with the first lot. Cushie Tushies are still my favourites though as Liberty is such a heavy wetter - although I don't have much luck with the quilted cotton outer ones. Eej did you find an army print one??
I bought some nappies from b4b once that took 3 weeks to arrive and it was supposed to be express post. The lady sent me some extras for free though. Another lot I bought off a forum took a few weeks to post too and that was supposed to be express. I suppose because its not like ebay and people don't worry about getting negative feedback?? Some people are so generous though and pop in extras which I love to get!!
Has anyone had any luck with chloes toes? I bought some that leak and I'm not sure if they were just made crappily. I wish in a way I'd just stuck to the one kind of nappies because now when I wash its like putting together a giant puzzle trying to find which booster fits what, I'm starting to like pocket nappies to so its sorting boosters from stuffers as well!!
Oh and are the Brissy girls in here on the southside? Near garden city by any chances? I'd love to meet up sometime. I took Liberty to the pet store today at Garden City as they have really tame dogs there that walk around the store and she loved it!!

Lauren I did get a pink camo one from buy for baby a green kids one but I don't really like it. Do you want it? I'd be happy to send it up to you. I won't use it. Cushie tushies are doing one too. So i've ordered one of them.

eej I usually email them on the site. Or take their name and email them on the other forums if you get no reply. Often you can work out who they are from their B4B name. What was the name? Yes we use amber necklaces here and I love them!!
Sue that isn't right :( I don't dry mine in the drier so it might be why they are doing that?? Are they sewn in or snap in? If they are snaps you might be better drying them infront of the drier while the inners are in the drier. Email Sue though, as they have a 6 month warrenty. I love ittis... they make up a large chunk of my stash! Never had that problem here :(
Oh Lauren!! HOw lucky that you saved her from the iron ... that is scary. I am having to watch Ash like a hawk too, he gets into EVERYTHING.
Well here... its been hectic!! With Jaidan starting school and trying to get Chase to his playgroups etc I haven't had time to do much of anything. I went to Launceston this weekend gone to stay with a friend and he was playing playstation on the ground and Ash crawled over, grabbed him by his top and pulled himself up! He did it before but this time he did it so fast. I am scared what the next couple of months will bring.
He is super cranky atm so better go :( Hope your all well!

Morning all. I decided to have a nap with bella this morning and got woken by the postie knocking on the door with fluffy mail, yay. thank the lord that df wasn't around LOL.
Still no teeth here and definately no crawling, just the odd roll - when I'm not looking of course.
MM - the IB's are the sewn in ones, I've got it sussed now, I wash them a 6am and hang them in a different place so they get a good couple of hours in the sun and they're dry by around 4pm. Have enough now in my stash so I am not washing twice a day which is a relief. e-mailed IB, but haven't heard back yet, also have another order with them and haven't heard back that they've been sent either, oh wells, Mel's came to me in lighting speed, gotta luv her. Where in Tas do you live, if I aint being too nosey?
eej - Ooooh how luffly are the cushie tushies, I am love with the london mod squad one and the pink camo - man I need to curb the nappy shopping spree's, specially since Bella is my last bub.
Lauren - Yay to Liberty, what a fantastic effort to be crawling. My crunchy nappy is only brand new, so not so happy bout that. I am Brissie northside but sometimes venture over that side of town, ooooh tempting to go to garden city :redface:

I really don't know what's wrong with me, I feel so unmotivated all the time at the moment, and angry, sad ,stressed I really wnat to make the most of my kids only little once etc but.... I just feel so disorganized. I started to lose weight and was going really well until the fires and about the same time Lucy's mum got sick and she was'nt around to motivate at body trnsformation challenge, well now I think I have nearly put back on everything I lost, which is so damn annoying. I'm not really sure how I am going to do this, I could find time in the evenings but all I want to do is sit and chill out , not go walking:doh:
On a brighter note Poppy started soilds Sunday, just farex but is sleeping through again. Yay!!!!!!!!! she is still just rolling back to tummy and has to be helped back, I need to clean up a ladybug sit in thingy, but lacking the motivation. That would help the whinging thing I'm sure. Also got to get the jolly jumper up. She weighs 7.8kgs and is 73cm? nearly big enough to turn her seat around. Have started to wrap her with one arm out, which is working well, she now sucks her thumb to sleep. She's due for her next imms, but it's DS birthday party this weekend so I'II wait until next week JIC shes miserable.
Very envious about all this nappy talk they sound like so much fun, but tank water and washing nappies just does'nt add up, plus last baby as well.
Erin and Kerry I missed the met up bit but it's great you are going to get to, I would love to catch up with you gals, plus others here on BB.
Must go tradie just turned up to measure up a shower screen for our new bathroom.

Pam, don't fret darl. It's prolly not the right time to diet and clean. You sound like me about 2 months ago. DF would just nag me bout my weight and the house, not that yr DH would nag you, but I was just out of it and I'm usually the most organised person out. I just couldn't give a stuff what my house looked like or what we ate for tea. I was basically a zombie and just attended to everyone's needs cept my own. Then something just snapped and I needed to get the weight off and needed to have my house back to organised and sparkling again. You'll get there mate xx
ASF, sooooo peeved off. I was off to spotlight today to buy an overlocker, course they didn't have the one I wanted, but anyhows, driving down the highway and lights were flashing all over the dash of my car and then the car just lost power and would only let me do about 75 - totally freaked and pulled over to the side and called the dealer, have to take it into the city in the morning, aaahh great, just what I want, a day in the stoopid city. The car ooohparently has a safety thingy where if something is wrong it won't let the car do over 75, I love the car, but geezus, I'm still working out how to use the wipers :rolleyes:.

Well Molly had her injections today and she did really well. Only cried a little. I am glad the next ones aren't for a while.
We are off to mum's house next week. She lives in Morwell so its a nice drive from here. I am looking forward to it. Apparently my dad has gone shopping with mum for presents for Molly.

Oh pam its so hard! I think weight loss just has to happen at the right time and it can take a few goes. I am finding my patience with Emily is wearing thin. Its really worrying me. I keep getting told she is jsut about the perfect baby but with me she has taken to squealing at the top of her lungs (so loud)and won't stay stil on the change table and won't sleep in her cot without the snuggle bed in it and it is all really bothering me. Only small things but when its just me and her all day everyday it gets old fast! I'm worried I'm going to snap. I see my psych on fri so will make sure I tell her.

pam wow your little girl has grown so much!! liberty is 7.3kg and 66cm. So frustrating that i have to wait another 700g to turn around the car seat. I'd put avocado in all her baby food to fatten her up but she hates it. Mind you she does love my icecream, i let her have a little taste test a few times when she was whingy and now whenever she sees me eating ice cream out of the container (as you do) she cries for it and reaches out for it :wall:

agh i hear you all about weight loss. i had no motivation to go for walks yesterday, ate crap loads of chocolate and i feel so guilty now. i've probably put on a kg or 2 in the last week. oh dear. my parents place just has loads of junk food around and because we never had that at our place its so tempting to eat crap all the time just because its there and because i feel like it and ... ok well i don't really need an excuse, i just want to binge. i'm going to try and be better today.
liberty's been waking up ALL night the past few nights. i'm feeling at my wits end with it. not sure if i need to feed her more solids? unless its banana she doesn't usually eat more then twice a day. she still breastfeeds two hourly in the day time. and i don't even want to know how often at night. i took the clock out of my room because it was too depressing. i'm pretty sure that she's waking up because DH is in the room with us and they both sleep so loudly, sighing loudly with every turn or exaggerated yawning - gees i'm in a whinging mood. i think i need to be sleeping rather then typing whilst she's sleeping!!
Nicambhar - *sigh* another northsider haha. just joking. what are you planning on making with your overlocker?? i can't wait until we move again so i can unpack my sewing machine. busting for some sewing therapy!! you have to check out the birdie mobile project if you're into sewing. its so easy and cute!

Well Ashton has his 6 month check up next week. I am excited actually to see how much he has grown and where he sits on the developmental side. He is getting into EVERYTHING. I need to get a baby gate. I left him in the loungeroom for 2 minutes today while I turned the oven off and got a drink and he was in the bathroom playing with the door stopper lol
He is pulling up on everything now< i have to be sooooo careful. He pulled up on his car today and fell and banged his head hard :( Poor trhing. He is teething again too... drowning in dribble!

I have to admit it, i dont even get a chance to lurk anymore. I pop onto face book and msn very quickly durign the day but not for any great length.
Glad to see all the beautiful babies are doing so well!
Nathan is a little champ, starting to cruise furniture and crawling up a storm!!
Finally my big boy (blake) asked to cuddle nathan, he sat on the couch and put his arms out and said CAAADDDDLE? it was so beautiful.
We are still not on solids, still just boobie boobie boobie :) Its beautiful. So happy.
Will probably give it a go when he shows more signs.

Hello everyone. It's amazing reading about all our beautiful babies getting on the move. Ashlyn seems to have come to a standstill though. She's only put on 300g in the last three months and isn't making any attempts to move around. She's still looking very healthy and happy though, so I'm not to worried yet. I just feel like nothing has changed recently.
Exciting news, my sister is enganged and will be getting married next year. Both Danielle and Ashlyn will be flower girls!! Yay, can't wait!

Is Ashlyn breastfed?? I *think* I read somewhere that breastfed babies stop gaining weight so much around 6 months? or maybe it was the other way around... can't remember lol oh well as long as she is healthy and not skin and bones I wouldn't worry :)

Yeah, she's bf. I wasn't worried to start with, but it has been 3 months with very little weight gain. Even the CHN was a bit surprised and suggested getting more feeds into her. Will see how she goes now she is getting the hang of solids. She did eat a whole banana for dinner, maybe due for a growth spurt.

Ash only woke 2 times last night! He usually wakes at LEAST 3 -4 times. It was very nice :)
His father takes him today for 2 hours. I am so scared. I feel sick. He better bring him back if he cracks it and wants booby :(

We're baaack! And I've picked up a cold, drats. Thought I'd be amazingly lucky if I managed to avoid coming home with one when there were so many people coughing and sneezing on the flight from Hong Kong. Plus, I didn't sleep at all and it was a night flight so I was shattered by the time we got to Sydney before contending with getting through immigration, collecting my luggage, clearing customs and then making our way to the domestic terminal for the flight to Wagga and the drive home after that. It was easier getting to HK than coming home. At the moment, I'm just keeping Matthew fed, clean and entertained - not worrying too much about unpacking and the mess the house is in.
I'm also looking at whether I can extend my maternity leave. I've begun panicking about Matthew not being ready to be handed over to a stranger in a month's time so that I can go back to work full time. I've only begun introducing Matthew to solid food. I haven't got any sort of routine with him so I think getting him ready in four weeks is going to be too tough. What are your thoughts??
Tomorrow I need to arrange Matthew's six-month immunisation needles and next appointment with the CHN. I'm very curious to see how much he's grown length wise and how much heavier he is. Also want to see what the CHN suggests with getting Matthew ready for childcare. There's no childcare centres as such here, only a few mums who look after other people's kids.
Mel, I hope you are okay and that Ashton doesn't have a meltdown for booby. I can only imagine how hard this is for you. When is Ashton due home? I hope everything goes okay. :pray:
Tenille, that's exciting news about your sister. My brother is getting married in October and we'll be going to Melbourne for his wedding. I bet your girls will look gorgeous as flower girls! Strange that Ashlyn hasn't put on more weight but as long as she's healthy and happy and not losing weight, then I'd be like you and not too concerned about it at this point.
Jen, Nathan sounds like he's doing very well! Matthew hasn't got the hang of crawling yet. He's only just begun sitting up unassisted for longer periods of time. He's very good at rolling though! Rolled off the bed on Friday, landed with a thump and let out a huge wail. I felt awful.
Erin, I don't think Nell and the kids will be coming home now for Kearley's birthday because they weren't able to get the venue they were after. :( Have you heard any different?
Lauren, are you going to turn the car seat so that it's forward facing when Liberty weighs 8kg? I've read it's much safer to leave the seat rear facing for as long as possible. Hope Liberty starts sleeping through the night for you soon! It's hard work when they wake up all the time.
Donna, sounds like you're going to have a lovely time with the grandparents! Someone's going to be getting lots of attention!
Suzie, that's scary about the car! I'd have panicked too if my car did that to me on the freeway. At least you were able to get home. Hope it's an easy, inexpensive fix.
Pam, I'm sick to death of living in a mess but I can't seem to do anything about it. I need the threat of visitors before I clean up and even then it's a big rush job and I end up throwing things into the spare room. Scary spare room... I'd love to get a jolly jumper up - I just know Matthew would love it. But there's not a single doorway in this house that would allow one to be put up. :(
Natalie, wow!!!! I'm so impressed with Emme saying Mum. What a clever girl! :clap: I can't wait until Matthew is saying Mum :D And woohoo on your new lounge. That must feel great.

Kerry, i am ashamed to tell you how many times nathan has fell out of bed. I have now pushed his (unused) cot up against the side of the bed to act as a barrier lol. Poor kid. Thank god we have super soft carpet.
Captain, its always concerning when they dont put much weight on, and i feel your anguish, nathan is a slow gainer. He is sitting on 7.8 (at his 6 mnth check up) and he was 3.745 born. So yeah he has doubled his body weight - just!
Have you tried to increase your protein? I drink a couple of glasses of sustagen each day and take Alfalfa tablets, they are FULL of vits and minerals and trace elements my herbalist put me onto them. Alot better then your general multi vits. Chin up and dont stress too much - becdause that will hinder your milky milk too!!
Well i finally took the plunge and gave in and gave nath his first solids today... sad day tbh.
I LOVED that he was fully 100% breastfed. Now I am not the only one nourishing him - the earth is too... oh well i suppose he has to grow up sometime.

Ash has fell outta my bed 3 times. Since then I have invested in one of those bed rails that sits on top of the mattress. He hasn't fallen out again. I did have piles of pillows on the floor when he fell so he didn't hurt himself at all luckily.
He is soooo clingy today. If i put him down he is ok for a minute then cries. If I leave the room he screams and crawles after me! Cutie just wants to be cuddled all day.

Mel, what brand is the bed rail and where did you get it from? I must have one! How did the visit go? Did his dad bring him back on time? Must be hard. :hug: PS love your avatar! :dance:
Jen, Matthew had a rusk first (those pesky teeth) and then rice cereal and now I'm trying him with toast and avocado, steamed carrot, potato and broccoli. Messy but fun. He's on my lap at the moment smacking his lips. :D

Jen- with BLS they can pretty much have anything! Em first had english muffin with melted cheese. She loves all sorts of foods now. SHe made a huge mess with her yogurt this evening. Don't worry he still gets all his nutrtion from you...food is for fun until they are one.
Captain- I was worried about emily's weigh gain a few months ago but she's picked up again now.
Kerry we went to turn our car seat around today and Heath actually did and then I was reading about how rear facing car seats prevent fatal crahses by 71%! !!! That confirmed it for me so we put it back! Our car seat can be rear facing to 12 kgs, I don't think we will wait that long but a bit longer yet.

hi everyone! love reading what you're all up to but no time to reply, need to catch up on sleep!! with regards to the car seat, when she's heavy enough even though its safer the other way (i used to want to keep her rearward facing as long as possible and if she hates forward facing too i will put her back into rearward) - but if she loves it i still think it'd be safer if she's happier forward facing so we're not pulling on and off the highway/main roads, not getting distracted trying to scramble for dummies/toys whilst driving, etc!! And also if she's calm and content we'll be able to concentrate better then if she's screaming her lungs out. I went and visited a forum member the other day and she couldn't believe how hysterical Liberty gets as soon as i put her in her car seat. fun times... ok off to sleepy bys for me :)

its a safety first secure lock bed rail. Google that ;) It isn't the price they have there though! Most say $129 but I only paid $50 from Kmart. It's wonderful!! I am going to get one for the other side too.
Ashton was ok at his visit but... well lets just say he wont be going back for a while. Don't want to post it all on here :( He brought him back soaked through though... HOW hard is it to change a nappy in 2 hours??

liberty got 4 ant bites yesterday when we were out at the clotheslines and although she whinged i thought it was from not being able to crawl easily up the hill not from being bitten - wow did i feel bad when i saw all those bites! her daddy was not impressed with me :S

Thanks Mel for the info re: the bed rail. Next time I'm over in Griffith or Wagga, I'll definitely be buying one. Sorry to hear your ex is being such an a$$. It is not hard to change a wet nappy and if he wants to be a parent, then that's part of parenting. Glad Ashton is okay though!

Eej, ours is a 12kg job too and I'll wait as long as I can before turning him around. He seems happy in his seat, looking at himself in the mirror that I put on the backseat so that I can see him. He usually has a toy to play with until he falls asleep and I've strung some of those pram attachment toys above the mirror, tying them to the cargo barrier, for his amusement. And I play the "Australia's Favourite Nursery Rhymes" cd which he loves. I know all 50 of the rhymes off by heart now and I have them playing in my head all the time! :rolleyes:
Off to see the CHN on Friday and then the GP's so that Matthew can have his six-month immunisation needles. I'm also going to be getting the whooping cough vaccine - it's going around this town and has been offered free to parents of infants, according to a notice that I received in the mail this week. Of course, that's if they have any vaccine left (as the surgery receptionist very sniffily told me, when I asked if I could have the vaccine when Matthew has his needles)...

We are leaving for Adelaide tomorrow, DH is coming with us and then leaving us there for a week and Em and I are coming back on our own. I have been a bit worried about that but then I need to think of Kerry going all the way to hong kong and back by herself!

Hi girls, I have read all the news but am so far behin dthat a attempt at personals would be a joke.
We all had the whooping cough vaccine a few years back when Soph was little. We are all getting flu shots.... after hearing Nat's doc advice, got the scripts today. A bit worried about poppy getting it but if they are giving it to chemo patients, she should be fine????
Kerry a helper would be fantastic!!!!! Maybe I need to move to HK???? sounds like you had a nice time away, hopefully you are feeling refreshed from some family time etc.
Mel you avay is great I am looking forward to changing mine.
Lauren, poor Liberty!!!!! I get growled at all the time about mossie bites (mainly my mum) DH undeerstands how hard it is, living in the bush, but still hate when it happens.

Oooh gosh I feel bad for not having posted in here. I get onto bb and have a quick squiz at what's going on in the bb world and by the time I get in here and read the poo is up and rearing to go. *sigh* bella is having a couple of 30 minute naps a day and that's it. can;t compain though, cause she is going to bed by around 5.30 - 6pm and getting up anywhere between 5 - 7am - she does have a 1am bottle though, but she isn't really awake for it, just stirring and goes back to sleep. Still co sleeping, though she did have her very first sleep in the cot the other day. All the talk of bubs falling off the bed really made me shat myself as we have tiles through the whole house.

Haven't had imm's yet, must do it this coming week, but did get her weighed last week.....:redface: she is 9.2kg:redface: bwaaahahahahaha, she was such a little poppet when she was born and now she is a fatty boombah.

We survived our needles yesterday. Matthew hardly gave a whimper for the first one and let out a wail and dropped the bottom lip on the second one. A kiss and a hug and he forgave me. I didn't even feel the needle go in for the whooping cough vaccine! And I forgot to ask about the flu shot. Will have to ring and annoy them again. :rolleyes:
Also took Matthew to see the nurse at the early childhood health clinic here. Our last visit was exactly eight weeks ago to the day and Matthew had put on 1 kg and is now 9.14 kg. He has also grown 4.5 cm longer and is now 70 cm and his head circumference is 45 cm (a 1 cm increase). At birth he was 3.805 kg, 51.5 cm long and had a 36 cm head circumference.

Pam, yes, we sure did have a nice time away but finding life very quiet now and caring for Matthew is really full on. I miss the tag team of entertainment we had going in HK.
Sue, Bella's a good size now! And a good night sleeper! Lovely. I'm still having trouble getting Matthew to sleep in the evenings. Maybe he's still on HK time. :)
Got to go, Mr M is grizzling. Time to go walk the dog!

Hi, just a quick one from me. Ashlyn had her first sleep over last night. Went so well, Ashlyn hardly noticed when I arrived to pick her up! Was good because I was able to relax and enjoy my night out seeing the Phantom.
Isn't funny how their weight changes? Ashlyn is 8.4kg and 67cm. She has put on 400g in 3months but grown 5cm. She is losing a bit of the chubbiness and I've been able to keep using some nappies that she'd nearly grown out of.
Going to be offline for the rest of the week, so have a good one!:D

Tenille, I let my mother and stepfather look after Matthew for two and a half hours while I was at the hairdressers so that I could have highlights put in my hair - much needed as last highlights were done before Matthew was born - and I was a ball of anxiety after one hour, lol. Well done, Ashlyn, on letting your mummy have a wonderful night out. :clap:
Was planning on going across to Griffith today to buy a high chair, bed rail and bath mat (for in the bath) but Matthew is sleeping and the morning is getting away so looks like our trip will be tomorrow to make the 3 hour return trip worthwhile. :p
Any suggestions for a high chair? What's everyone using? I was looking at the Choice recommendations and in the threads here. I think I may end up getting a Fisher Price space saver one that sits on the dining chair and also the Love n Care Futura.

Kerry - we got the love'ncare techno, it;s height adjustable and we really like it. Good to hear that Mathew weights around the same as bella cause I was a bit worried that she weighed too much. Oh boy does my back and hip feel every kilo of that weight too ;)

aww Lauren poor Liberty :( Silly Ants! Re the car, Jaidan didn't like being rear facing, once he was FF he was fine! I think he used to get car sick. I hate sitting backwards on the bus so I can understand.

Kerry I just use the cheap mothers choice one from Kmart. He will only be using it for 6 months or so until he sits at the kids table.
Well we went to Launceston and had a BALL. My bestie Katt looked after Ashton a lot while I went out and did things!! Thanks, Mel and Sue for tips re: highchair hunting! Mel, I'm just amazed at how advanced Ashton is - he is awesome!! Sue, yes, our bubs are a good size considering we're such shorties! I'm glad that Matthew's unlikely to be a little titch like me but is going to take after his father in the height stakes. Well, I hope so anyway! :lol:
Here's a snapshot of what it was like 41 years ago: I've been looking at my baby book (after blowing the dust and cobwebs off it, lol) and my mother had me on full strength pasteurized milk for all daytime feeds when I was three months old. :o The comment written next to it was that I "didn't take much at first" and "disliked the bottle at the beginning". I'm not surprised, :lol:. And my mum had me started on rice cereal when I was two and a half months old and tinned strained mixed veg when I was three months old.
Makes you stop and think, doesn't it!

Oooooooohhhhh, guess what girls, Bella slept through the whole night last night. Oh gosh, it was pure bliss, cept for the fright I got when I realised what the time was when I woke LOL.. she slept from 7pm to 530am then had a quick bottle and settled back in til 7am. *sighs* the lord heard my prayers. I was getting so over having crap sleeps, the pg was awful and I never slept and it's just me looking after Bella. Shouldn't really complain cause she's always been so good and never had me pacing the floors at rediculous hours. LEts just hope this is the start of lots of long sleeps and not just a one off. :dance:
Kerry - PML about yr baby book, that explains why MIL and my mum always nagged me to feed bella so early and get her off the boob. definately has been some changes along the way in how we look after bub's. Not sure how long bella is, but I reckon she will just be short cause df and I are both really short, I am worried though, df is quite solid and all of his 3 kids are really big and I mean huge, his DD17 was a ladies size 24 at the age of 13. How;d u go with extending yr maternity leave?
Mel - wow, a whole night out, that sounds sooooo good you lucky thing. It's good that you have such a great network of friends around you and I'm still jealous that u live in tazzie, it's mine and df's dream place to live. We holidayed there a couple of years ago and just didn't want to come home again.

We arrived back from our two week trek around SA, we had to do 2500km's for our lease car so was a forced holiday, it was really lovely never been there before. Madeleine did really well in the car, we travelled on average 5-6hrs a day with a 2 night stop over in between so we are really happy at how she handled it.
Madeleine hasn't been weighed for a while but I know shes growing a lot as shes in 0 clothes, we have our nurse booking at the end of the month. She cut 2 teeth together on sunday & besides a broken nights sleep of pain for her she did really well, so much beter than my first who screamed the house down for days :) besides that she has a bit of travel sickness but is doing well.
I'm trying to catch up on reading so will pop back in again. Hope everyone & bubs are well

Me:Poppy is still just rolling from back to tummy, although today in the pram she was arching her back and pushing with her feet, if she does that on the floor she'll move and might get the idea?:rolleyes:At the moment she knows all she has to do is lock eyes with whoever she thinks is the most vunerable then grin from ear to ear and it means she gets picked up.
Still no teeth???? I thought they were coming weeks ago (throws her hands in the air) Going well on her solids, I only mash her things so they always have some lumpy bits and she is really good with it. Next weigh in she will have put on heaps I can see her getting chubbed up. But has weaned herself fully now:wall: so sad, but my best run with BF so far, now just waiting for AF to show up for the first time since gettign BFP, not so excited about that. Getting her injections done tomorrow, she missed out 2 weeks ago because she had a cold, talking about all things cold and flu. Anyone else thinking of getting their little one the flu shot or had it done??? If so how did they go, I want to but feel a bit nervous...
Anyway off now, got to get to bed.....I will be so tired in the morning.
