Nah cant be croup.I thought croup was a cont barking cough where they had difficulty breathing? She just coughs every few minutes like its irritating her.Last nite she coughed up the phlegm but then cont to dry reach for ages after that. Was terrible poor thing.Worse at nite because she is lying down i think.
Bea, go to Nina's webpage and its in Baby Albums :)
She is just gorgeous Jodi! She looks like Nina.
hi ladies
sorry been mia for a while
been going through a rough time over here
couple weeks ago
savanna had a temp of 41 and went into a febrile convultion and was rushed by ambulance to hospital
it was the most scariest moment of our lives!!!!
Tia has been having good days and bad ...sleeping and not sleeping...drinking and not drinking.. been back and forth with the paed..
now savanna has got a pimply sorta rash on her body and took her to docs last night.. he said.. looks like mild chicken pox. arghhhhhhhhh
then said no its not pox .. it might just be a viral rash.. so got some cream for it
poor darling keeps scratching and asks me to scratch for her too...
savanna has been waking up 5am each day crying last week or so.. last night she woke at 12:30am (anyone else having this same prob???) when she wakes she asks for her milk
she wont stay in her cot and screams so i have to bring her to my bed where she stays awake for 2 or so hours then finally falls asleep. but very unsettled tossing and turning.
tia isnt sleeping through as yet.. so bit hectic constantly gettin up for both kids.
arghhhh when will it get easier??
trying to hang in there but very hard at times
hoping your all well and kids are behaving for you
jodi- congrats on your new little one!!
going to read through posts now..
love ambz
xoxoxox
Ambz sorry you are having a rough trot, sounds like you are doing your best. Will it get easier? Some days are nightmares and some days good. Depends if the kids are sick or tired as that influences their behavior heaps.Plus if mum's tired too. Just dont be a super mum and just do what you can do. Millana sleeps in our bed everynight. We cant get her out. Ruby sleeps mostly though but last night woke witha bad dream and a bottle at 4am. I havnt had a full nights sleep ever since the kids have been born.I think perhaps when they go to school maybe life will get easier....You just have to take one positive from each day,say it out loud,it will make you feel better and forgt the horrid bits.
Jodi, emily's gorgous!! You all are a good looking family!!
Ambz - sorry to hear things are tough, what a scare for you with Savanna. I am going through yucky sleep with Rylee too, waking up at 3 am, then she clings to me and screams and won't go back in her cot so comes into bed with me and stays awake for a couple of hours.....I am really hoping it is some phase (another one) she is going through. I agree with what Caddie says about not getting decent sleep anymore, a girlfriend of mine has 4 kids and says she hasn't had a good nights sleep for 10 years.......
Okay bbl got to get tea.
Laurin x
shar - OMG, how exciting!! I wanna see pics!
Thanks for the comments on Emily. We think she's gorgeous too ;) I actually looked half good today, did my hair for once and Heath and I took Emily out to the shops while Nina was at daycare. I got Heath to take a photo of Emily and I while I felt good, so I'll have to upload that one. It's not often I feel like I look good in a photo. Better share the moment while it lasts!
Emily was really unsettled this afternoon, I think a little bit of wind maybe? She loves to suck on my little finger, so had to sit there for about an hour or so while she did that, then she went to sleep. She won't take the dummy, so the finger it is for the meantime.
ambz - so sorry to hear you're still having a rough time. I really hope it starts easing for you soon.
Ambz-Sorry to hear that you are having a really rough time at the moment. OMGosh how scary for you with Savanna, I hope she is getting better.
Well we have had Bella at home for a week. She just went back to school today. She came down with another bad virus, got the rash and everything. She is still lethargic, but the school knows that she has a few problems, so if we need to bring her into school later, that's ok.
We finally got the kids some bunks, so now Eithan is in a big bed, and out of our room. This will be the 2nd night. Last night he slept right through, for the first time in AGES. I was getting up at least 5 times a night just to settle him. Seems like the big bed is good news for him.
On a scary note, Eithan can climb Bella's slide. You know the big ones that come with a swing set. Leith said that he climbs the ladder then goes half way down the slide, then clings onto the side and yells out for Bella to come and catch him. OMGosh I am so glad I havent seen it as I think I would have had a heart attack.
Jodi-Glad that things seem to be settling down for you.
Lol, sorry Helen, but I had to have a giggle at Eithan's slide antics! That's so cute that he chickens out halfway down! :chair: Hehe, I'm sitting here grinning, that's gorgeous. Have you guys got a video camera?
Something I wish I'd had the camera for in time today was Riv's first night in his big bed (he wasn't a fan, wanted to trampoline on it, and it was a bit new and unusual for him, but he eventually caught on!), where his door was closed and we saw these little fingers poking out from under the door...obviously he wasn't in bed! :D When I heard him yelling a few minutes later though, I went in and he was in bed, so it's good that he knows that's where he's supposed to be. :)
Sheesh Helen, Bella isn't having a good run! She sounds like my little sis, she had meningitis as a kid, and then her immune system really struggled, she came down with everything that went around!! How is Leith too?
Jodi, if it's wind maybe put Em on her tummy? That worked for Si sometimes. And Brauer's Colic Relief did too, if the wind is a real problem.
Ambz, just a day at a time I guess hon. Good to hear that Tia's been having some good days! Hopefully when she's a little older this tough time will seem a distant memory. And how SCARY about the fit, you poor things, hope Savanna's better now.
Right, well Rans just brought me dinner (been a busy day, and then I napped through our usual dinnertime) so I'd better go. :)
HelenP- They get very adventurous don't they. At the park I just have to watch Ash closely cause I don't know what silly things she is going to attempt!
Poor Bella hope she gets thru this virus quickly. And how are you going with the pregnancy?
Ambz- Oh god, that would have just been so scary to have seen, glad to hear she is ok now. I hope everything starts getting easier and you get alot more good days. I know at one stage Savanna was staying at your mums on weekends she still going to give you a break? Maybe your mum could stay your place one weekend just to help at night with them so you can get some sleep?
Caddie- How is Millana's cough?
Laurin- Did sleep school give you any idea how long waiting lists are? Might be good to get her sorted before next bubs comes along, I don't think you want to be up all night with 2 children! Good luck with it.
We are home. No time for personals atm. will write more this arvo
Hi Meg! Welcome back, bet you are tired and exhausted! I was wondering when you were gonna come back!
Me too, welcome back Meg! :D
Welcome home Meg!!!
Welcome Back Meg!!!
Welcome home Meg! havent read anyones posts im sorry but just wanted to say hello to everyone.
Julia stayed overnight with the inlaws last night for the first time and shes come back here really sick, I wish they would have called me and told me I would have come to get her last night....bit angry right now....
Thinking of everyone :grouphug:
Bel

Welcome back Meg.
Belle-I know how you feel. My inlaws gave Bella her medicine hrs late and tea at 8pm once. You dont mind being called to pick them up if they are sick. It's horrible to feel that they are there feeling miserable and you have no idea.
Bella's lips have gone so dry, despite lip balm, that they cracked and bled heaps at school today. Ugh this virus is a pain. Anyways Eithan was a pain in bed last night.
Hope everyone is well.
Hey everyone,
Meg - welcome back, look forward to hearing all about it when things have calmed down and you are back in Aussie time zone, hope Mr jet lag isn't too mean to you all.
Belle - annoying of your inlaws not to have called you.
Helen - poor little Bella - hope she gets over this nasty virus quick.
Shell - no idea on the sleep school, I have to have a phone conference first on the 10th of June and then I guess they work out how desperate I am to see someone...
Not much else, had a nice day, went out to lunch and Rylee was really good and happy to just sit there.

Hi all,
I have really only just skimmed through this thread, so it will take me a while to get back into what everyone is up to.
Kell- at least they will start Speech therapy early if the need arises. But most likely it will all be fine.
Laurin - I am no help on the sleep thing. I really hope you are able to get into the sleep school. They will probably tell you to take the tough approach and make her stay in her bed and go into her.
Ambz - I am glad that you were able to pop in and say hi. What a scare with Savanna.
Belle - I hope Julia is alright.
Helen - Yor poor little girl. I hope she gets better soon.
Nelle - I can just imagine little fingers sticking through the door!
Thaks everyone for welcoming me back!
We were all so tired last night that we were in bed by 7pm. J didn't wake till 8:30 this morning, so he must have been VERY tired! Hopefully that means that there will be no jetlag. We were all fairly jetlagged in Japan. Actually J wasn't but DH and I were.
J was a wonderful flyer. Out of the 9 flights we did, he was only terrible on one. That was the Sydney to Melbourne flight yesterday, as he had been up since 4:30 am. The airlines were all so accomodating. Every single flight they gave us additional seats for J. Even on the full flights, they moved passengers around to give us a spare seat!
Out of the whole trip, I would have to say that we enjoyed Scotland the most. It was just stunning.
Travelling with the inlaws was a nightmare, and DH said that he would never do it again! They were always so late getting ready and were the ones that always put us behind schedule. DH's father always had something wrong. It was a sore arm, then a sore foot, then a gastro problem etc. And lets just say he has the worst toilet habits. No joke, he would be in there for up to 45 mins! Sometimes it was when we were out in public, for example at the train station while we were watching train after train go by............
I managed to catch a west end show. Wicked. It was awesome. I recommend everyone to go see it if you get the chance.
J's language has come along quite a lot while we were gone. His new fave word is Flower. Although it sounds more like "wow wah."
At the moment, he is rediscovering his toys. Our lounge is a Mess! Does anyone else manage to get their kids to pick up their toys? No luck here.
Also how is everyone else going on manners. Sometimes J will say ta, but most of the time he doesn't.
Chilly here in today in Gisborne.
Oh - I will lert you all know when I post some pics to facebook.
Meg - just a quick one to say OMG on the inlaws and their bad habits esp. FIL on his toilet habits - arrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Well you'll know not to travel with them again. :)
sounds like u had an awsum time meg! Cant wait to see some pics put up on facebook!!
Im so jelous!
Belle,i knew you had a hard time with the inlaws taking julia and now she is sick.Poor thing.
A woohoo for me! Got a sewing machine. I sewed up a toy owl. Its cute but i stuffed up the eyes because i didnt follow the instructions..Next one will be better.Ruby and millana thinks its great though!
wow meg sounds like a great timew, with the toilet habbits you should meet my DH 3-4 times a day and at the most inappropriate times.
Belle- grr at inlaws, i think it was selfish on their behalf not to call.
well today i have taken all 3 girls to get their needles, interesting experience. i actually got quite upset because Teleah was so distressed. Annika got all upset seeing Teleah cry so yeah wasnt fun. hopefully tonight will be ok.
Caddie- yay on the machine!!!
belle - I hope she doesn't end up too sick. I would have been peeved as well. That happened once with Nina, my mum was looking after her while I worked one day, and when I came home she was really sick. Fair enough my mum can handle it, but that's not the point. I'm her mother, I would have preferred to have come home and looked after her.
meg - sounds like you had an awesome trip (except for the IL's!). Can't wait to see some pics.
nelle - the tummy thing seems to be doing the trick so far. I think it was that we went out yesterday, and it was quite windy. I took the girls for a long walk today, and it wasn't windy, and she was fine.
helen - how cute of Eithan! How are you guys going? You were almost right with Emily's arrival, I went into labour on the Wednesday like you guessed, she just arrived Thursday morning. :D
Meg, sounds like you had fun, Im so jealous I love Europe and Britain! As for your FIL, he sounds like mine with his toileting habits. Cant wait to see pics.
As for the cleaning up and manners, well Jett doesnt clean up unless he's in a really good mood and we start it. Im thinking it'll more be something we can implement next year when he's closer to 3. Jett says Ta when he wants something and thankyou when he receives it lol He has a bad habit of turning the lights off so that when he turns them back on after we ask, we say thankyou and he can say it back :cryinglaugh:
Cads, yay for a new sewing machine. Wish I could sew.
Bea, hope the girls are doing ok after their needles!
Belle, hope Julia is better today.
Hi AnnaT - J's bad habit at the moment is to throw something on the floor and then say oops! That way he can pretend that it was thrown there by mistake!
hhhmmmm, well Nina has a few bad habits
- falling over/tripping over her own feet ALL THE TIME! then whinging and saying 'sore' (I'm pretty sure this is just to get a cuddle!)
- Dropping things on the ground, and when I ask her to pick them up, she gives me this sly smile, and walks away. gggrrrrrrrr.
- If I ask her to do something, or ask if she wants something, she says 'no no', shakes her head and walks away. I don't think she even knows the meaning of the word :cryinglaugh:
beatrix - how was your night after the girls getting their needles yesterday?
bad habits......worst is throwing food on the floor, don't know if this is a bad habit but she always wants to be carried.....
She is at child care today so it is my cleaning day...

Laurin
Ha Jodi Jett says 'no no' too with a shake of the head, he never says it as just 'no'.
Another bad habit of Jetts is hurting himself too. When he has a tanty he will smack himself and then turn in dizzy circles so he falls over and can cry harder like he broke a leg or something.
Anyone else's kiddo's suddenly into watching DVD's? He never watches a whole one but he can open the cabinet doors so I often get told 'Watch ______!" and he sits there for maybe 20min then gets bored and wanders off, but still listens in the background lol
Ruby's into dvd's big time. She will tell us "dvd" and point. Her fav is the faires. She however will watch the whole episode. If its something a little"older" of millana's she will wander off.
Not much happening here.Millana has been sick a whole week now with a terrible cough so we havnt been anywhere excpet to get my sewing machine. Im going to have a play and finish off an idea maz has given me... Stay tuned.
Nina loves DVD's. She says 'D' and goes and gets a DVD which she wants on. Usually it's the same one. She'll usually stay in the room while it's on, but won't necessarily stay sitting.
caddie - hope Millana gets better soon. Is it just the cough, or does she have a cold as well?
laurin - enjoy your baby-free day today!
morning girls,
Im still angry at the MIL for not telling me Julia was sick, she had a rough night and now her temp is 38.7 so just given her more nurofen, is there anythign else I can help her with until her doc appt this arvo? she wont drink anything milk or water or eat anything now.. :(
Back later when Im up for personals. Appreciate your advice girls. I so hope she doesnt get tonsilitis back :(
belle - don't worry about the food. Try and get some fluid into her. I know she doesn't want it, but keep persisting.
Panadol and nurofen should help with the fever, as will a wet washer if she's burning up, and just lots of cuddles. It's hard when they're sick, isn't it.
Ah ok good so the limited attention span for DVDs isnt just because Jett is hyperactive lol He is a huge fan of Thomas and Elmo, but he also watches Nemo and 101 Dalmations.
He's so funny though, he lipsync's along to songs  And its any song too even a soap theme or ad jingle. He sure loves his music, cant wait to start him in dance and music classes.
Ooooooooh before I go do chores I just have to say he's finally said "I love you!" to me this morning. He said it once to DH but never to me and its been breaking my heart because he talks so well. So I say it to him alot hoping he'll copy one day. He happily gives kisses and hugs though. But he said it this morning to me. I could have cried I was so happy.
belle..totaly agree with jodi, dont worry about food try and get fluids into her, with the panadol as well, hope your ok hun thinking of you xxx
Jodi - Have you had a visit from the postman yet??? ;)
not yet, but that doesn't surprise me, they take forever to arrive up here!
belle - how is Julia?
Belle- What time is your appt? Poor Julia. I can understand why you were upset. Maybe they just thought they were doing you a favour by letting you rest while they took care of it? I'd just let them know in the future no matter what you want to be told no matter what time of the day or night it is. Hope she gets better soon.
AnnaT- yay on Jett saying he loves you! Df reakons Ash said love dadda yesterday. It made me so jealous, I'm gonna have to teach her love mumma!
Beatrix- I can imagine taking 3 of them for needles would have been a ball of laughs! Howd they all go? Any reactions?
Meg- I think I would've been so tempted to just leave your FIL behind! Sounds like you had great trip beside all that. Good to hear J was really good on plane.
With manners Ash just says Ta when she is giving us something or wants something.
She will pack some toys away if we ask her too and help, she doesn't mind packing up.
DVDs she doesn't watch much mainly cause we watch certain shows on Nick Jr that she loves. She'll have them on watch bits and the play, usually she just sits and watchs while she has her lunch.
Gymbaroo this arvo and Ash is still awake, hope she has at least a little sleep or she'll be moody tonight.
Belle-I hope Julia is ok.
Wow chatty today.
Well MJ went ok with her needles. it was the older two with probs.
Poor teleah was so upset about it and she had to have two needles. Both her and i were in tears. Annika also got upset cause she was upset. Wasnt to fussed when it was her turn though. But last night Teleah had a temp and was vomiting is fine today but hasnt eaten much and is back in bed. Annika has the runs though.
sorry no time for more personals.
Belle- hope julia is getting better
Hey Helen how are you travelling???
Shell, what sort of things do you do at Gymbaroo?
Well Ripley actually had a NAP in his COT for 2.5 HOURS. Now he is a happy little lad sitting in his play centre thing spinning himself around chewing on his bib. Poor thing has been constipated for the last few days, starts in the arvo and the next morning he poops everywhere, its disgusting. Ive been giving him diluted prune juice and some of the Brauer's Stomach Calm and he seems a bit better. If it hasnt gone away by Monday Im going to take him to the Dr and get a scan or something done. Im paranoid he has an obstruction or something. Poor tyke spends hours grunting and straining then boom in the morning without a sound he poops and it goes all up his back.
Ive been supermum today - Ive done 3 loads of washing, made a dark chocolate mudcake, cooked up 2 more buckets of homemade washing gel. Im making lasagne for dinner tonight and if I fold all the dried washing and vacuum then I can officially say no chores for the weekend Yippee! If I can manage to give Dh some love tonight then I can add superwife to the list to, but I think he's got buckleys I'll prolly collapse in bed and pass out til morning :cryinglaugh:
I wish I could do all this everyday. By monday I'll be over it and lucky to do one load of washing and the dishes.
