Maz- Thats fantastic, its great to see what a great tight website this is and how everyone wants to help.
Caddie- Yay thats fantastic bout the baby stall! Sounds like it'll be great for business.
Meg- Lol, we try hide under mash potato or tell her its mushroom (which she loves) so she'll open her mouth and then we laugh and say tricked you its cauli or whatever. Drives me nuts sometimes. Some days shes loving veg other days i get so frustrated.
Belle- Yeah Ash is another NG fan, personally it drives me nuts! I did see an ad for the dolls, I'll have to get her one when they come out. Those links to photos won't work but I did go into the gallery to have look, very cute both of them! Julia has grown heaps since we met guess that was quite awhile ago now!
AnnaT- Hope birth centre works out for you, your labours have been pretty good so should be right. Obs are so expensive, we go public just can't afford!
We got our gas bill yesterday $260! So no more ducted heating I can tell you, more layers of clothing and blankets! We were quite in shock, never had gas that high!
-
Ah thanks Maz but I doubt we'll have something decided on anytime soon. Although I did mention Silas to Ry last night and he said "Oh yeah thats cool isnt it?" so maybe its a go-er. Im still holding out hope that I wont need it because she'll be Carys but its wishful thinking on my part I reckon
-
Hi everyone!!
Caddie - That's great news, good luck.
Bea - Have fun with your WiiFit, I love ours! Hope your console is in.
Annie - Brilliant news!!! How's the little man going today?
Maz - Yay!! That's a brilliant total.
KK hasn't arrived yet, hoping it comes today or tomorrow.
Well, we're on the countdown to the big girl's birthday!!! 2 more sleeps :D And now I'm crying about weaning. I'm all confused, she hasn't cut her feeds down any further (still 3 a day and 3 at night at least). I've posted a thread in the breastfeeding forum, I'm just so disappointed that the end just doesn't seem like it's going to be as positive as I would have liked :(
-
 Sharle, you've done soooo well for her, I'm so proud of you guys. Amazing. Perhaps you can offer her a drink of breastmilk from a cup instead of the boob at feed times, and then start to replace that with other milk?
Shell, I am dreading our gas bill.
Chrissy posted, by the way. (Pop in HERE woman! :P)
Snotty kids here. Thank goodness for tissues, mum brought us 3 boxes of aloe vera tissues, bless her. I think my sinus area might be a bit inflamed but I'm okay otherwise. :)
Hope everyone's well.
-
Anna - think girl vibes babe.....its gotta be pink bits
Sharleen - your a super woman in my eyes. Why are you so desperate about weening again? I so wish we were still BF..it hurts not doing it still :( oh and I bet your KK will be there soon ;)
Nelle - yes snotty kids here...atleast they can pick at their own snacks
of to look at chrissy's post now
-
OMG
This constant whinging and tantrums are enough to send St Thersea nutty!!
Annika has well and truly asserting herself and i have had enough.
All these birthdays coming up!!! We still have a whole mth!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and hehe i should really take a pic of how i hacked my girls fringes
Oh and still no console but i have everything but!
Annat- girl vibes hun.. you can have somer of my pink stuff
sharl- you done fantastic job
Nelle- bogger ville here too
-
Maz - I think I'm feeling really guilty because of people struggling to breastfeed in that first year (I definitely have been there done that too) and here I am kinda complaining about her not weaning at 2YO. I'm just so friggin tired though. I haven't had a good night's sleep since sometime in 2004 (plus I've got a shocking head cold at the moment which isn't helping with a storm coming this arve here, so it's muggy as hell right now). I kinda go between wanting to keep going and stopping, and the 'support' (for lack of a better word) that I'm getting IRL is either along the lines of my sister telling me and Ambah that she's gonna chop off my boobs if she keeps feeding after her birthday (gee, she's got a great sense of humor hey ) and then recently I've been talking to a few people that I know that have said that they breastfed their youngest ones until they were nearly 3 - which makes me feel even more confused.
Oh, and yeah I know my KK should be here soon (I know it was sent, a little birdie told me ). I'm impatient though hehehe, I can't wait. I'm so excited about her birthday!!! Doing a trial run of her cake tonight, so fingers crossed it works out.
Nelle - Ambah's been drinking cow's milk since she turned 1, I think boobies are mainly a comfort thing (and she tells me quite often 'I love booby mummy, yummy booby  soooo cute!!!). Aaron's been putting her to bed at night, she'll take a cup in with her but doesn't drink any of it. He was telling me all he does is stroke her hand and say shhh and she's asleep within 5 mins!!!!
-
Annat, I reckon if I go for a third it'll be a boy, so never mind if you have a boy!
Remind me again which games you got Ness?
River can work the microwave now - think that comes from his Oma letting him press 'start' on his dinner. And there was a spill in there, so I opened it and smoke pours out - shut it again quickly.
He's a bit of a krang today actually, looking fwd to getting him to bed after ITNG. :P
ETA: He's pushing all my folded washing off the table and turning the xbox on and off while I'm feeding Si! Aargh!! Anyone want him??!
-
Oh and AnnaT - sending more~~~~~~~~~ pink vibes ~~~~~~~~ your way - got an abundance of them here
-
annat - I reckon if I have a third it'll be a girl. 3 girls, geez, poor Heath when they're teens!!
shell - you should see our gas bill each quarter! We have gas hot water and stove top, and it's VERY expensive. Then on top of that we have our electricity bill, which is massive in summer when we have the air conditioners on 24/7.
shar - you have done such an amazing job b/f Ambah for so long. Good on you, you should be proud of that achievement. Never mind what other people think is appropriate. When they're babies, who do you listen to...your own mind. People always say things like 'she doesn't seem fat enough, maybe she needs a top up of formula', or 'maybe she needs formula at night to sleep through'. But most breastfeeding mothers don't listen to that, and continue breastfeeding. Well it's the same now. YOU know what is best for her. And as her mother, it is up to YOU when you decide that there is no more booby. And I believe when you have truly made up your mind, then you will be able to wean her with ease. Until now, I don't think you've been ready. Each time you've attempted to wean her, you've had your doubts about whether you're reading to or not. And that's not helping the situation. You need to feel 100% ready to do this. And when you do, stand your ground.
I know you long for a decent night sleep, and you will get it, one day. Until then, you are doing the best thing by Ambah to still be breastfeeding her.
So sending you big  your way.
-
Thanks Jodi. I held out from giving her a feed until about 5 this morning. I got into that really philosophical tired stage  maybe about 2am - I was thinking, yeah I really do feel blessed that we have gotten so far, it hasn't all been fun and games, but it has been a damn good run and I have really enjoyed the special bond that we have. But I am ready to have my body back to myself IYKWIM? Oh well, wait and see how it goes this time, little miss didn't go to sleep until 10 o'clock last night (she was all hyped up because we looked after our nephew last night while sil went up to the hospital), but she wasn't upset at all. Aaron actually fell asleep next to her about 8, so I took over. Awake again at 2, but was asleep within 15 mins. Couple more stirrings then she woke up at 5-ish and I gave her a feed and we both passed out on her bed until 6.30-ish. So overall a pretty good night.
-
MM not such a good night here again. Ruby was coughing all night and had a temp. Spewing phlegm everywhwere. We had to sleep in the lounge!(again) The coughing doesnt stop until i give her durotuss forte and painstop.I will have to ask the dr what painstop has on coughin because the coughing medicine only works in conjunction with painstop when she is really bad. They cough so bad they can hardly catch their breath.
-
mum3girls- you done a great job!!! Even Annika sometimes has a 5am milk bottle now.. so last night you did fantastic
Caddie- oh dear.. coughing is just the worst
-
That's a pretty good shar. Like I said yesterday, when you're 100% ready to do this, put your foot down and persist with it.
caddie - oh the poor thing, nothing worse than having sick kids hey. Hopefully they'll get better soon.
Shocker of a night here with Emily. It's getting quite here, and last night was definitely the hottest we've had in a while, and Emily wasn't coping too well with it. It's sort of in between weather. Too cold to not have a blanket, but too hot for a blanket, iykwim. Plus she kept waking up wide awake wanting to play. Then this morning did a massive poo. She's all good now. Maybe it was the poo building up that made her unsettled?? Heath stayed home a little later this morning, gave Em a bottle so I could get some rest. I reckon between 11pm and 4am I would have attended to her about 15 times :asleep: Mum has a day off today, so I might head around there and annoy her.
-
Hey girls,
Shar - your bf journey is amazing, you are/have done a wonderful job, don't let anyone else influence when you should wean, it is such a personal decision for you and Ambah.
Jodi - hope you get a chance to rest at your mums.
Meg - hopefully something will arrive in the post for J today or early next week.
Caddie - poor poor Ruby, it is heartwrenching listening to them cough and cough, I hope the doctor can help you out. Do you use a vapouriser at all?
Shell - we have just had a ginormous gas bill come in the mail.......
AnnaT - sending lots of pink vibes to you.
Maz - thanks for asking about the pg - all well - apart from insomnia.....but that's a whinge for another day.
I am having my glucose test today, I have just had the drink at home and have been told to do nothing and go down to pathology in 45 mins. Rylee is at child care so good excuse to sit still.
Okay, hi to everyone.
BBL
Laurin xxx
-
Just popping back in quickly to say a huge Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! to Maz, Vy and all your boys as well for the wonderful presents  Yep, unwrapped them already, arrived maybe 5 mins ago just as we were getting home and Ambah was so excited (hehehehe, yes I was as well) she ripped into the package with her teeth!!!! And she said how much she loves presents too :D They're gorgeous - I especially love love love the cover. Took some photos so I'll post them when I get them on the computer later tonight.
-
What a gorgeous day in Melbourne today. Finally some warmth and sun! Took Ash down to the park and it was so packed, never seen it so busy.
Laurin- Thats good they give you to drink at home. I had to go in and sit around last time. I think they did finger ***** prior to the test tho. Can't remember.
Jodi- Wow, I'm still under millions blankets here! Could you maybe use flannette sheet so its not as warm as blanket? Hope you are trying to get some rest in today.
Caddie- Poor Ruby, how is she going today? Its probably the codiene in the painstop that assists cause I know you can buy a cough medicine with codeine as a main ingredient that they use for dry coughs.
Shar- Could you try just to wean off overnight feeds but give the 3 in the day still? Maybe try when Aaron can help out and he could go in and settle her in the night if she wakes up?
Nelle- Oh god is your microwave stuffed? Thats why I don't like those toy microwaves you can buy cause I can imagine kids thinking the real ones are toys too and doing god knows what. Lucky for us our whole Kitchen is gated off.
Bea- How are you today? the girls behaving themselves? Yes I'd like to see a pic of there hacked fringes, lol.
-
Nah, I found a code to lock the microwave, so the start button doesn't work for him. Phew!
Jodi, Riv would get unsettled before a big poop too. Si seems a bit more regular. :P
Eugh Laurin, glucose test. I've never had one and don't want one!
Had one of those mumma moments before, Riv tripped over Si on the floor, so I had a boy wailing in each ear. Fun times. :P
-
Our microwave is high up and out of Nina's reach, thank goodness. Otherwise she'd be playing with it non-stop.
Well I decided that today was the day I stopped wrapping Emily. Now that it's getting warmer, it'll be too hard. So far she's had 2 sleeps without being wrapped, and has gone to sleep with no problems both times. Dunno how we'll go tonight though, but we'll see.
shar - that's great that Ambah got a pressie today!! As you know, I did send mine, but silly me put the wrong address on it! :wall: I've got the correct one from Shel this week so it's in the mail, again! She should get it on Monday. It's just a little something that I bought for Nina, which I know Ambah will need soon ;)
At mums ATM, both girls are sleeping so I'm stuck here until they wake up. Off to do my volunteer work at the Toy Library this afternoon, should be fun :D
-

-
Nelle - just a quick question, what were your tips for Pregnancy Insomnia - not much fun here at the mo?
-
Aww thanks Chrissyt! He's pretty fun, talks more than Riv. :P
Yaaay Ness! What games do you have?
Maz, do you want me to bring the Wii to the meet at Mel's? Could be fun - but if it'll be too much of a distraction or we won't have time or something, then maybe next time you're at Sam's or something we'll nick up. :P
And I didn't have the glucose test done because I didn't have any of the risk factors. Perhaps as I get older I might have to have it.
Laurin, ohh I remember the insomnia. I found Brauer's Insomnia Relief homeopathic spray worked for me! Didn't expect it to, I was a sceptic, but it worked. I got it from my health food store, the naturopath there recommended it to me. Let me know if you can't find some in your area and I'll grab some for you.
-
Nelle- so far have mario cart, wii sports, beach sports, dog island and FIT
-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very quick message from me. Just wanted to let you know that I had my scan today. All seems to be good. The only thing is that I am measuring a little later than originally thought. I always said 15th, doctors said 10th, but the result says 17th.
Oh and J received a package in the mail today :P it is put away till his actual birthday.
-
Congrats meg! So glad all is ok with your baby! Just thinking if your measuring later the baby will be here earlier!!!
-
Fabulous news Meg!! I had the same thing happen, guess bub just implanted later than originally thought.
Nelle, Ta for the add, River is so cute!!!!
-
Meg- Yay on great scan, I think they allow 5 days or something around your date anyway cause not all bubs gonna be exact same. I have just really popped in the last week, my pants went from just fitting to not being able to get the zip up at all! Thank god for those belly wrap thingys (whatever they're called).
You girls making me jealous on the Wii! Might have to wait few years til money not so tight.
Maz- Lol, you should see the so called nursery at moment. Its our spare room/ junk room so needs good clean out!
Hey one great idea to get vegies in I've found is making fried rice. Ash adores it will eat any veg if its in there.
-
yeah Shell, J will too come to think of it. I still have to "assist" to feed him a main course though or he will take hors. Yoghurt or fruit on the other hand... He eat the whole lot in 6 mins flat by himself. Now if I only had the energy to actually cook.......
Caddue, AnnaT and Shell, thanks for such quiick replies with your thanks, Now I justh ave to get the energy to read what everyone el.se is up to. I just have no energy tonight. Oh I know there are heaps of typo's. Can't be bothered fixing them.
-
Congrats on the good ultrasound meg.
Having a lazy night tonight. Was very naughty and had KFC for dinner. Not good for the waistline I know. When I got back from picking it up, Heath was at the front with a torch, there was a python on our driveway!! eeek!!!!! He called the snake removal dude, but they couldn't find it. I'm sooooo scared of snakes!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my terrific two-year old!!!! :happybirthday:
Been up for hours, Talitha had to head off to Hervey Bay for an Optiminds competition, Aaron's at work and been on the phone with my mum waiting for news on my dad. He had surgery on his shoulder yesterday (they had to shave off a heap of the bone) and we didn't go up to see him last night because he wasn't feeling the best when they brought him back to his room and he went straight back to sleep. He was still asleep when mum left the hospital late last night. So far all we know is the surgery went well, but he's going to be in quite a bit of pain :( He's still determined to come to the party tomorrow though
Meg - that's great news the scan went well. How're you feeling?
Jodi - OMG!!!
Shell - Yeah, we love fried rice here with lots and lots of vegies. We have it at least once a fortnight, sometimes more.
Caddie -
ChrissyT - Great to see you back - been having a sticky at your site - gorgeous!!! You're so talented! Wish you were closer, we are looking at getting some photos taken, been talking to the guy who took our wedding photos which we were very happy with.
Ness - Hope you're enjoying your Wii. We've got Guitar Hero, Sport, Fit, Play and have MarioKart and Carnival Games on layby for Christmas. Oh and High School Musical Singstar
