Havent started Eithan TT yet, but when we TT Bella, once she was day trained, we had her in undies, which she hated. We only used the pull-ups for night time, as I didnt want to continually change the bed, eventually we put her in undies for bed and despite a few accidents she was fine. I must say though she was very embarrasssing in her undies when we took her out, she used to ALWAYS complain about having a wedgie and once she proceded to take everything off in the supermarket, when I had my hands full.LOL

Helen - LOL that sounds exactly like what Tiana would do!!! Good times to look forward to I see...

I use knickers to tt Tiana, but I have been pretty lazy with it all. On Tues daycare said to send knickers with her!

How is everyone going?

John is still away. Has been for a month and is for at least another week. He comes home for 1-2 days at the end of the week but I am still doing everything cause Tiana wont let him do anything. I also have a sick cat - she got bitten by another cat and has to stay inside for a week - which she will hate. i am not doing much else, just working and spending time with little miss. Its really cool now cause she talks so well that we have actual conversations!

I just use knickers on Nina during the day, and for her day sleeps. At night we use either her cloth nappy, or just a pull up disposable. It won't be long and she'll be wearing knickers to bed at night as well. Her nappy is usually dry in the mornings.
I do have some of those training pants you mentioned anna, and they're good if we're going out. They hold in the wee better than undies (in case she has an accident).

Hiya all,
I haven't really got too much into the TT atm. J HATES sitting on the potty and the toilet. He cries and wants to jump straight off. He has done a few wees in it, and shows all the sings of being ready, just doesn't want to do it on toilet/potty. Any hints> Anyone else not doing the whole TT thing yet??, as I am thinking of just leaving it for a few months. Don't have the energy atm, and in fact it will probably just stress me out and make me feel more of a failure than I already feel atm.

To be honest, I may have to leave this thread. I am suffering terribly with anxiety since my cousins baby died, and strarting to obsses about a few things that is not healthy, and I just can't hear about how other kids the same age are doing as that is part of my anxiety. A few of you might know what is going on, as I have started a few threads in anothe section. I am also going to post in the anxiety and depression section probably tomorrow, so those who are a part of that will see it tomorrow.

Anyway my baby is kicking away nicely in there. I have my scan next week, so will hopefully be able to tell you all if it is a boy or girl.

Meg- hun dont leave us.. in regards to TT, we did s=have slight interest but not at all anymore.. Annika is being complete turd, tantrums galore.. kicks the wall b4 bed time all the time and umm has a habbit of pushing anyone who comes in her space.

Megs.. honey sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. Oh Jesse would sit in a pooey nappy all day if i let him!!! He would not have a clue! Im not even attempting to TT him until at the very least summer, and that would depend if he is ready or not. I dont even think he will be. Theres no point. We dont even have a potty. He even weed in the shower the other day and looked at it as if "what the hell was that". All kids are different hun. Jesse's still in his cot. I think most kids in this group have been in a bed for months. He will sleep in his bed of a day but cot by night, because i know he just isnt ready. And that is completely fine. Im not going to push something that will just make matters worse, until he himself is ready. Please just dont be so hard on yourself and just suit J's needs himself. You are doing a great job just as you are.. please dont feel you have to follow suit iykwim. I know its hard when you see others at this age are doing things and your baby isnt.. but he will get there.. as will Jesse. In another 5 years time you wont see a difference in them all.. theyll get there when they are ready. Big hun. Please take care of yourself and im always here if you need a chat.

On the TT front, same as you Meg, we've sat Riv on the loo, but he's not a huge fan. He forgets he's scared when you give him something to eat or drink. He's nowhere near ready though.
He doesn't talk, doesn't jump, doesn't draw or paint, doesn't ride a push-along trike thing...can't think of what else he doesn't do...ask me though. I say don't, because I HAVE heard him say a word here and there, but he's too stubborn to repeat himself. I'm not too concerned, he's cluey. Just think it's his personality.

Fantastic to hear your bub's going well Meg! I imagine it will be reassuring when you have the scan.

Nothing interesting here, Riv still drives me bonkers by moving things from place to place around the house. I can't find anything, ever! It's so hard to be motivated to clean...

Meg - Oh honey :hugs: Ambah's not toilet trained, has done bits here and there, but I'm not pushing the issue, and she's going through a bit of a fussy stage and not in the mood for it. My nephew is 2 1/2 and he chucks tantrums at the suggestion of sitting on the toilet. Another friend has a daughter who is a few months older than Ambah who she will not toilet train until she's at least 3 (she just recently had a baby and from past experience (the gap between her oldest and her 2YO is similar to this next gap) she found it easier to wait until bubby was a bit older and she could focus more on the toilet training. That and some children are just more ready at 3 than earlier). Ambah and I might give it a try in a few weeks when I've got time to dedicate to stay at home and focussing on it, but no rush. It will happen in time.

How are you going with managing your PND? Is it reviewed regularly?

I wouldn't worry too much about the tt issue. As you've seen, most of the toddlers in this group aren't tt, and that's fine, because it's still only early days. Remember that Nina goes to kindy twice a week, so that has helped her tt so early on. And Vy has 2 older brothers who go to the toilet, so that has helped her. But every child is different. Also, remember that with you being pregnant, J will mostly likely be picking up on that, and probably won't tt until bub has come along, and he's back into a normal routine again, which could take a few months.
Please, if you need to take a break, do so, but please don't leave for good.

Meg - Rylee isn't TT yet either, I have tried, but she gets scared on the toilet, so I bought a potty, but she just isn't into it, today I cleaned up three lots of wee and one lot of poo, and I came to the conclusion - nup not ready yet, and that is fine by me........she is also still in her cot and will be until she is closer to three....I am so sorry you are feeling anxious but if you need time out - take it, we don't want to see you stressed. It is so hard when you hear about what others children are doing, but as Kell said when they are five there won't be much in it, it will all happen in good time.

Sorry I have been AWOL, I have two uni assignments due next Friday and am just generally tired...

meg sending you huge hugs hunny, do what you have to...when i lost josh, i could not go out for months, as i might see a mother and a baby,or i would just lose it, so i thought it was easier to lie low, and it was a bit the same after lossing craig, its so hard to go out and see dads with there babys/kids, knowing that my 2 will never experience that sort of bond between their dads, so it is just easier for me, not to do what upsets me, but it must be so hard for you being pregnant, take time out if you need to and try and talk to people who will listen. good luck hun.

as for me, not much have shiat everywhere, have moved, and dont have time to scratch my butt atm, caitlyn is being an absoulute turd settling in, my mother is only up the road, and already driving me bonkers, but on a good note caity only needs night nappys now as she goes to the potty.

Our Pead said if you child is scared shiat less of the loo to the point of doing what Mr J is then leave the seat down (lid and all) and sit him on it with his pants up...and just let him sit, even if you sit on the ground and read him a book while he's sitting on it. i did it with Wilhelm (dont you dare annalys this woman!!!) and it only took a week for Wilhelm to be able to sit on the loo without him screaming. Its ment to make him friendly with the loo and take away the fear of falling in.

Now Meg - I can understand if you need a break but dont leave us...we're all here to support each other and how can we keep an eye on you if your not in here.

hello everyone else - not having a great time atm...Wilhelm is very much out of sorts (friggen full moon) but all the other kids are great. Ive noticed that Vy is back in size 1 pants cause of the no nappy thing. Just when Ive gone and bought her size 2 for summer...grrr.

Back to the grind...children to feed, me to loo and dress and a migraine to knock ont he head before saturday

Oh meg,please dont leave! I was feeling kind of the same,that ruby was way behind everyone else's child here but low and behold im not! Ruby screams and tells me "no mummy" when i ask and freaks out if she wets herself so i will be leaving it till summer until she can run round the back noody. She see's millana going and watches but she is stubborn! To be honest i was telling maz the other day my kids are quite the nightmare.Hubby and i dont sleep hardly together anymore because at least twice a night we are up to both. Thats twice each...We are so tired.They were easier as babies.Sometimes i think i must be such a wus of a mother because i give into them one minute and screaming at them the next.. I am so sorry about your cousin. If you want me to make anything for them i will do it. I do lovely memory boxes. I just remember another lady bought one when the same thing happened. Let me know and i will do it free. Just a thought...

Thanks for your words of support. Feeling much better after a good nights' sleep. I also posted in the anxiety and depression forum and I think that getting it all out in writing helped HEAPS. Anyway gonna be more positive! No point in worrying about stuff that might not even happen.

Nice and sunny here. J is noit feeling 100%. He kept coming up to me for a cuddle, and rubbing his tummy. Anyway he chucked all over our bed Ewwwwww!
Anyone know if you can put woolen underlays in the washing machine??

Maz - Thanks for the advice re: the toilet, but I think I might just hold off for a few months atm.

Caddie - You must be exhausted! J often cries in his sleep that wakes me, but I am usually not having to get up.

Caddie - Honey, Ambah is, quite frankly, a shocking sleeper. I thought she was getting better, but nope. I can be up to her 6/7 times a night, and she does sleep better in our bed. Sometimes it gets to me (mainly when I'm exhausted), but most of the time I don't mind too much. One day we'll get there, I'm lucky to have had two really good sleepers with Bre and Litha, and Aaron doesn't mind too much if she comes into bed with us towards the end of the night (actually I think he likes waking up next to her and waking her up - if she's in a good mood anyway). I'm just focussing on enjoying this wonderful time I get to spend with her (well most of the time anyway ) and I know, logically, it won't last forever.
