Helen - Your bubbas are gorgeous! You must be one proud mumma! Any ideas as to when they will be home yet? (sorry if u have answered this already)

Nelle - If you aren't worried about his understanding I wouldnt worry to much yet. He will talk when he is ready.

With the day sleeps, Tiana will sleep for others but not at home with me. If I need a break though i put her in her room with the gate closed and make her read books for an hour. At least I know she is resting.

On the same topic, what time does everyone's children go to sleep? I am lucky to have her in bed by 9.30 -10, and that is way to late but I cant seem to get her down any earlier even when I start trying at 7.30 or so.

Sorry for the lack of personals, I only scanned through the posts. I am now part of the full time work and full time mummy land. Still getting used to it!
Tiana is great, we have a hospital check up for her kidney tomorrow and hopefully if it goes well we wont need to go back!

It looks like J has dropped his day sleep too! and I spoke too soon about J not being able to open our doors, as today when I told him it was sleep time, he started howling, then the next thing I know he was out here in the family room!

It is also being terrible with eating. Tomight he had about 4 mouthfuls of spag meat, before he came across a lump of celery and flat out refused to eat any more. So that's it. dinner over. No other option for him. I am taking the hard line now. Honestly he has been such a little $hit today I am ready to give him away, let alone how we will go getting him to bed tonight.
he normally goes to bed at 8 if he has a sleep in the day. No day sleep and he goes at 7, but last night was still crying at 8, as he wanted to get back up.

I feel really mean about dinner. I feel like I am letting him starve. I am not good at leaving him hungry.

Nelle - As I think Shell said, it you want him to see a spath, it is prob best to get the ball rolling now as there is often lengthy waits till you can get in to see someone.

Dont feel mean Meg just put his dinner away in a container incase he asks for food later on and give it to him then. Paed told me once that children will NOT let themselves starve and that missing a dinner or two wont kill them or make us bad mothers. I assume he is eating breakfast and lunch so being harsh on dinner isnt too bad.
We make a rule that if Jett refuses dinner (rare but it does happen) he cannot have anything else but water in his sippy unless he eats his leftover dinner which I put in the fridge. No dessert, no toast, no bikkies zilch. Only takes him one night of it before he's back to eating dinner and then a couple of months later he tries it on again. Sometimes we pretend to give it to bubby and it gets him eating quick smart - nothing like the idea of sharing to scare cranky toddlers lol Little boogers. Ripley on the other hand screams if he doesnt get enough and will often eat Jetts leftovers too, I am hoping he stays that way :lol:

Marni, Im a bit of a slack mummy when it comes to bedtime in that Ripley goes down at 8pm (or between 8-8:30pm) and Jett is in his room by 8:30pm. Obviously we have nights where we are slack or out so it can vary. I just cant justify putting them down at 6-7pm when they sleep til 8am or beyond, theyre still getting min 12hrs sleep during the night and we still have some hours left before our bedtime to watch movie etc. Jett still day sleeps but mostly only for 30mins or so. If he refuses to sleep he has to stay and 'rest' in his room for an hour quietly. He is a kid that NEEDS downtime or he burns out and all hell breaks loose.
Our bedtime routine is bath, cuddles, book in bed then nightlight on/lights off. He can play quietly or read but lights remain off and no leaving his room. Most nights he's asleep by 9pm amongst a pile of books and cars but sometimes he pushes it by sneaking out (he can open doors ugh) and making up some imaginary issues like blankie being 'missing' (on his bed) or his sippy being empty (usually half full). We just send him right on back in. Sometimes its easier to let DH deal with it because he's a bit less of a softie than me and when Im tired I would be easily swayed to just let him run amok til he passes out.

Nelle, I wouldnt worry as such but I would prob take him to see a speech pathologist. Paed told me 2yo should have atleast 100 words vocab and speak in 2 word sentences (even the most basic!) so if he does that occasionally he is prob just lazy. Better to be safe than sorry though as the earlier speech impediments are detected the easier they are corrected. Jett talks a mile a min and has since his first word. Ripley on the other hand, what a slacker. Mum and Dad, along with linking screams are about as far as he goes hahahaha He just doesnt care esp as big bro chatters away and Rip struggles to get a word in. I probably should talk to him more and emphasise words to learn but TBH Im so bloody tired right now it suits me to have him quiet and relatively immobile. I dont think I could stand TWO kids chattering non stop from sun up to sun down. My ears would bleed. So enjoy the silence cause Si might be a chatty kathy!

Blahh..dont worry about the speech stuff Nelle...you'll be cursing the day you wished he would speak...trust me ;)

Marni - I dont know how you working mumma's do it. it must be such hard work..i take my hat of to you.

Meg - maybe he's jsut feeling crap after you all being sick. hav eyou got him in a bed yet or still a cot? I found that when I was pg with the next baby...the then baby was getting emotional knowing there was a change in the wind so to speak. Take a deep breath babe.

Oh Anna - I wish that i could let mine stay up to sleep in. Its harder when you have to have everyone up by 7.30 in the morning for school and work purposes. MIne are in bed by 7.30 - 8pm the latest.

Hello everyone else...hope your all fending well :)

I hve the best little guy...he sleeps from 7.30 - 8 inthe morning then again from 11am until 3pm. I dont know what we did to get such a blessign in the form of Mateauz....he is truely wonderful :)...He is currently pulling himself up to stand and he walks holding onto the couch. I cant believe how far he's come.

Vyolett.....**** she is insane...she is more like a 12YO at times tellingthe boys off if they are to close, if they dont pick their stuff up but totally ignores strangers or anyone that isnt jed or I. I so cant get over how much she has changed and become a real little girl compared to the boys.

Now question time.....you pg girls...are you doing up nurseries for the new additions??? what special plans have you all got?? come one get me clucky

Hi - Just wanted to say that J is still up, but playing quietly and happily on the floor. J and I had a shower together with the bath crayons, and boy did he do some wonderful creations. I thought coz he was so cranky today we would do something nice together.

Then when we got out he was asking for a bikkie. I said he can have his dinner. so he sat on the couch and DH fed it to him. made a big deal about how good he was. Then I said coz he finished he could have a yoghurt. He happily sat at the table at ate up. Again. More yay's about how good he was. Still not wanting any veggies (bit doesn't know i hide them in most dishes) or much in the way of fresh fruit besides grapes, bananas, and pear (but doesn't know the yummy smoothie is full of everything else!!) Send him to childcare and he will eat whatever in on offer.

Anna - I wish J would sleep till 8. He gets up between 6 and 7. Doesn't really worry me though, asI am now used to it. (this coming from the girl who could think of nothing better than sleeping in till 10 a couple of years ago)

maz - in regard to the nursery, and I not going OTT, as when I bought J's bedding I got gender neutral so that I could use it again if the next baby was a different sex. We have decided to keep J in the room that he is currently in ( alll out bedrooms are together) as he is happy in there. I might put a few girlie touches to the room though. I have bought her a few new outfits, but have not gone overboard, as my mum tends to do that!!

Still feeling like crap, and it was DH's b'day today. We felt too yuk to even do anything, so we have postponed his birthhday till next week.

Seriously, thanks so much for all your thoughts guys, I think also I didn't work too actively on his speech because probably there were good opportunities when I was heavily pregnant with Si, or when Si was newborn. I recently started being really proactive about it, so might just continue up that path for a little longer. :)

Good idea to postpone your dh's birthday Meg, I really hope you guys are feeling better soon.

Nelle- Lol that it'll be bout food! Generally they say boys can take longer to speak, see how he goes and like I said you could always ask your MCHN on anything you could do extra yourself at home.

Meg- they still gastro? Hope you are not getting anything, poor DH being sick on his birthday.
We at one stage had to lay down law with Ash and food, was getting ridiculous that she'd say no to everything. So we did what you did, nothing else, no dessert, we did give her her milk at bedtime. Kept her food aside so if she did feel like it she could have it. Now (and touch wood here) Df and I are amazed at how well she is eating, I don't know if she is going thru a spurt or something but she is eating vegies (if she at least has little bit sauce to dip them in) eats her fruit. I just hope it lasts!

Maz- Sorry no exciting plans for nursery! At moment still our spare room. When Df is off in January we gonna sort it all out set up cot in there and go thru all old clothes. Vy is funny, I can see her being the only girl having all her brothers wrapped round her finger and I bet all 3 of them will always be looking out and protecting her.

Marni- Good luck with the appointment tomor, she seems like she is thriving so hopefully you won't need anymore follow ups for awhile. As for bedtimes we put Ash in prolly just after 7:30, lately she been awake for little while afterwards, I'm thinking cause its so light outside, she'll then generally sleep til 8ish.

I been run down and sick again. I just keep getting colds that last a week, be ok for week then another one, plus have 3 mouth ulcers so know I'm really run down, this bub sucking everything from me. I try eat ok but guess I need more, been trying to force myself to swallow vitamin tablets, have trouble getting them down. Getting Df to do more around the house cause just way too tired.

Im going all out on my nursery Maz, figured I deserve some fun seeing as its sort of same old same old having yet another boy. So Ive got my eye on a colourful Living Textiles cot set on Ebay and Ive bought some cute new clothes. I'll be getting out the baby boxes at chrissy when Dh is on holidays and chucking all the worn out clothes, washing whats useable and adding to it when I have a list of what I need. Ripley is being turfed into his big boy room in the next two months so I can start organising the nursery. Im just so excited to meet him that April cant come fast enough!

Maz i went way ott for my nurseries. I loved the planning and getting things pretty,hence why no more babies but still plenty of things babyish being made. I get to pick up my overlocker tommorow.Im super excite and 930 last night was sorting material out!
As for sleeps,ruby passed out in my arms last night at 6pm. So me was up early this morning. She never had a day sleep and was tired from a bday party. If she does have a nap by accident she goes to bed between 730-8pm. Millana is in bed at 7-730pm and she usually asks to go.
Millana's first word was mum,dad and cho-choc(chocolate) Very food orientated she was,but for junk. Naughty thing!lol
Ruby is generally fab with eating.Will try anything. Im thankful for that because millana only has to look at something and will refuse.Wont even try a nibble.
The only thing my girls do which is super fustrating is sleep issues. They get up far too early and ruby had me up twice last night. Wanting milk. I have started to water it down. I ve also got her some great training pants to start toilet training as she is so so not interested!

Maz-thanks, Gabriel came first and then Tallulah 2mins later. I didnt get to hold them for a few days which was really hard.

River cut his finger today, well, more like scraped the skin off it from 'brick painting' with water...guess he just didn't feel it? Anyone's toddler got some brains they can lend my todder? :p

LOL Nelle Eithan never learns either, he will hurt himself the same way over and over. He has massive banana legs.

Leith has been great, the extra set of hands definantly helps.

How is everyone settling in?

I've had one of those days today. Nina has finally settled and is watching Play School. She's still trashing the house, but at least she's doing it quietly. And Emily is finally sleeping. I'm at my wits end with Nina constantly going into Emily's room when she's sleeping. She wants to wake her and play with her :wall: I think I'm going to have to get a gate or something to put at the door.

nelle - Nina is constantly covered in bruises, skinned knees or cuts. She now has a fascination with bandaids though. Even her dolly's have to have bandaids on when they 'fall' on the floor :rolleyes: And this happens quite often during the day. But once the bandaid is on them, she'll put them in her bed to rest, and she'll even shut the door so it's quiet for them :lol:

Jodie - Funny about how she wants it to be quiet for the dolly, but not for her sister! It is funny that you mention cuts and bruises, as I was just looking at J's arms thinking how did he get those extra bruises that he has at the moment. He always is doing something.

Nelle - J also loves painting with water outside. He tends to "paint" on the chalkboard though.

Annat - How are you going with the heat and being preg??

Helen - I am so pleased that the babies are home, but you must have your hands absolutely full at the moment.

Caddie - Did you manage to grab an early night with the kids asleep early?

Shell - I hope you are managing to take it easy. I had mum over today who did some housework for me. I had to go to work, but it is nicce to come home to a semi organised house.

Well we thought J was better, but we were wrong. He still seems happy enough, but mum copped 4 lots of the runs from him today, so I guess his tummy is still not right. So dry bikkies and watered down apple juice for him tonight.
I am seeing my obs tomorrow. I am going to have a chat to her about the reoccuring tummy probs in this house. maybe we need to be tested for Giardia??

Not a bad idea Meg, you guys need some relief from tummy upsets soon! I think you've had more than your fair share!! Hope she can figure something out.

Its sucks Meg! I run my a/c most of the day now and sleeping is a nightmare between being uncomfy and hot.

Ive been doing way to much browsing on Ebay for the kids rooms. Ive decided to use the govt money next month to do up their rooms. Rips gets bunk beds, and Jett gets a theme room, probably Buzz Lightyear if I can win some stuff off Ebay. Oh and Gage gets his nursery ofcourse.

Helen- Yay on twins coming home! Thats fantastic news, how are Bella and Eithan with them?

Meg- Hope the GP can sort something out for you, it terrible how often you're all getting sick. That country air is no good for you! Yeah trying to take it easy, Df vacummed and mopped today so that was good, how you sleeping? I'm finding I'm waking a million times a night!

Jodi- I think sometimes thank god our bedrooms are upstairs that way when bubs comes along Ash can't disturb him/her. Lol at Nina, so cute!

Caddie- How did the markets go? I can imagine you going all out on nurseries, you are lucky you have such great creative side you can make your plans come to life.

God the kids went crazy at mums group today, imagine 5 kids running up and down non stop squealing! Of course Ash was in tired bad mood after we got home.

Jodi - I have a gate across Tianas door, the swing gate ones are fantastic!

The hosp appt went well. Her right kidney has grown well, is a little larger than a normal one and seems to be compensating for not having a left one. Her blood pressure was fine and we only need to have yearly blood pressure checks and urinalysis's. Poor chicken though, she started crying when we got there and didnt stop until I told her we were leaving. Just kept saying, 'go home, go home mummy'. She just hates drs and nurses now :( Hopefully she will grow out of it now she doesnt have to go as much.

Glad T's hospy appointment went well Marni! Poor her on being scared though :(

Oh poor thing, she must have been so scared. I'm glad it all went well.

Oh marni - give her a big cuddle from us all...poor little sausage. Do you have to go every 6 months now? I dont think they ever forget the place. We have to go back for an MRI for Mateauz some time next year...SO not looking forward to that as he has to have a general for it :(

Maz, I have no idea for Si, it's not like he really needs much. Maybe clothes.
Riv is getting books. Maybe a toy I saw in D!ck Smith (hope that's allowed since it's not actually a swear word), but I was there last night and FORGOT to go look at it, so who knows. Maybe a new pair of shoes, I got him a pair of size 7 volleys last night, they looked waaay too big to me, but the 6's are getting too small, and Rans often tells me Riv has huge feet. I'll have to try them on him today.

nelle - Nina is in 5-6 shoes now.

maz - Nina is getting a new dolly with accessories, pretend cooking stuff & a 'my first' microwave. Emily is getting some new toys. Can't remember what though.
My parents have bought the girls a blow up pool & a ball pit, both to keep at their place.
The girls have so many toys and clothes it was hard to choose for them. We have 3 little bikes, 1 tricycle, swing set, pool & trampoline in the backyard!!

Nelle - Jett is in a size 8 *yep thats right bigfoot is alive and well :lol:* and they are just a teeny bit big but thats good cause itll last him awhile hopefully. I always buy big cause they seem to grow so fast! Ripley is a size 4 already. Im dreading the teen years of constant growing, but eh atleast I'll have the smallest feet hehehehe

Maz - I managed to get the cot quilt I wanted YAY and Ive bought a few little accesories like a green striped soft blanket and some new cotton wraps with bugs on them (also in the nursery colours). Just got to get my butt to spotlight and see what I can scrounge up there in the way of decorating. Oh and some brightly coloured toys. Ebay is fabulouso :clap: I also bought his coming home outfit today from Pumpkin Patch, I put a pic in my gallery of it, so appropriate I think! I will put pics in my gallery of the nursery in January when we've officially moved Rip out.

For christmas Jett is getting -

Marnikat - Poor little T.

J isn't getting heaps from "santa" for Christmas, as he gets so spoilt by his aunts and Grandparents.
We have just shelled out a fair bit of Moola on a new bedroom suite for him, which inclides King single bed with trundle, Bedside table, tallboy, desk (that will stay flat packed in the box till he is older) and a toybox. It came as a package, and was cheaper than buying all seperately. (we didn't really want the desk) The doona cover is racing cars (J chose it) and my cousin who is an artist is doing me three canvasses in the exact match.
My dad has made him a tool box, and I have bought some tools to go in it. I amso have a few books put away, and some nice thick chalk for his board outside. I think that is really about it. He has so much, so don't want to go overboard.

Had a terrible couple of days. Ended up calling my obs, and getting in for an extra appt. She has put me back on the anti d's, and is sending me to a Counsellor. So a positive is that I am moving in the right direction.

Marni.. oh poor pet. Great to hear its all going well though. Jesse goes down anywhere between 7pm-8.30pm lately. Though i find is he has a later day sleep (not waking sometimes until 4.30pm) he has a harder time going to sleep. Not to mension the heat doesnt help.

Helen.. great to see you are home. The twins are gorgeous! Congrats again!

Meg.. hows J been lately. You poor thing going through that so often. WOuld it be because of low immunity? Hope your OB can offer some advice. Oh hun, Jesse eats like a sparrow too. But he eats when hes hungry i guess. Hes just so so fussy its so hard to know what to feed him. But have found vegemite is his thing so he has sandwiches, crackers, toast.. all with vegemite. Smoothies are also a hit as i make them for him in a special Mickey cup. I guess thats what you just have to do at this age.. go with what they like. Jesse wont touch any vegetables.. only fruit he'll eat is banana. I do give him multivitamins though so at least hes getting something good. Hopefully our boys both snap out of this soon.

Jodi.. how are you going with the girls. Oh dear, yeh maybe a gate. Can nina open doors? Unfortunately in our house Jesse has discovered how to do this too. Though im lucky that hes a people person and always wants to be where company is.

Shell.. how you feeling hun? Hope youre on the mend.

Nelle.. um.. only advice with River is to just use open ended questions. Offer him choices in his day. Eg, would you like a piece of toast or some cereal. Or would you like to wear a blue top or a white top. Things like that to encourage him to have to answer, rather than just a yes or no shake of the head. He will get there im sure.. by the sounds of it is just the way he is and his personality and as Meg said, i bet he just comes out with a sentence one day and shocks you completely ;)

Annat.. oh jesse has one of those Tonka Firetrucks and loves it! Jett will love it.

Nothing much to report here.. Jesse and Keira are both well and sleeping through which is great. Keira is rolling and sits on my lap unaided.. wish she would not grow up so fast! Jesse is booked in to start day care next year. I think hes going to love it as he just loves kids so much.

Um.. alot of Jesse's christmas presents i bought months ago so will have to think, will probably find other things i cant remember..
But what i can is... hes getting a basket ball hoop, a Diego laptop, a big emergency vehicle carrier thing (has cars and stuff in it), My First Leappad and books, a bike (from IL's), a water and sand table (from mum & dad), a Wiggles remote control car + a Doodlepad thing (from great grandma).. thats all i cant think of atm.
Keira.. im still yet to get her something else, but from us so far shes getting a FP Pram that is a walker and a Learning Bunny thing. Its so hard to work out what to get her, shes still a little young for girly things and we have all baby toys still from Jesse. Might get her some fun teethers or something.

Ash for xmas is getting her big girl bed (which is getting delivered tomor!) Decided that can be her present seeing as we'll be broke by time we buy mattress, doona, pillow, etc plus we want to paint a feature wall to match the pink that is on her bed and shelves.

Still have annoying cold, just dry cough that keeps me awake most of the night.

Shell- thanks for asking hun. yeah im actually feeling really good.. today i went and had a angel/reiki healing sesson. (sounds weird i know) but basically it help clear your charkra (energy vortexes of your body) and to clear away negative energy

sounds like a great present for her!!! i bet she will get enough toys and that from everyone else as well.. so wont really need more

Kell- yeah hope the house sells quickly not really looking forward to repeated house opens, hate the thought of someone going through my house. well done to little miss!!

well i have got the older girls a MIO pup each... thats it.. all i can really afford actually.. but they are getting heaps from my huge extended family they dont need heaps from me. Millana is gettign some gym thing..

OMG Ness they are going to bug you constantly about the trampoline lol If its an adult size one great workout for you though! Jett has a junior tramp that he loves and I get on it sometimes (well obviously not now or I'll break it haha).

Tiana is getting a trampoline for christmas (to save our bed springs), a baby play centre and a couple of dolls. I might get her some puzzles as well but thats about it

Has anyone heard from Laurin? She must be really close to having bub or have I missed something?
I also realised that I think I am the last to have only one baby or at least no intention of having a second at the moment. Is that right?

as for xmas, i bought caity and liam together when i moved in this new house a jungle gym,slippery dip, a couple of bikes, and there own set of table and chairs all for the back yard, they already have it set up, and i bought them a couple of cheap roys just so they can unwrap on xmas day. my older girls are getting a PS2 betwwen them, and a $30 gift voucer, my boys are getting a gift voucher, a telescope and a set of 1995 coins ( my son is a coin collector).

Still around, just a slacker. Well 39 weeks....on weekly GP visits, head engaged and I am knackered - sleeping really bad. DH got back on Wed night so at least maybe I can duck off in the day and have a nap but just playing the waiting game now.

Havn't really gone overboard with the xmas pressies - Rylee has got books, sand and water table, so far, DH just bought her a whole heap of clothes but we gave them to her already and as for the new bub - will only be three weeks or so, got him a sleepy toy and another toy, not sure what to get a three week old. I have got everyone elses pressies which is good.

Goodluck for the impending birth Laurin. Must be nice to have DH home, and a huge relief aswell :)

Am going ok, however really tired and am unable to BF as my supply is not even enough for 1 baby let alone 2 and it takes too long to BF then top-up and then express. Plus they both get really tired on the breast and then wont take the top up well and are screaming for more within 30-60mins. So for all of us we have made the decision to formula feed. I do kinda feel bad, but I have to remember I have more than just the twins, I have Bella and Eithan to tend to and care for and cant spend all my time at the milking machine.

you are doing a great job and if FF is what you need to do then do it!!!! It would be very tiring dealing with twins on ther own let alone another two children

Just got back from swimming lessons.. Jesse doing so well. Hes crashed on the lounge now, must be as buggered as i feel poor boy..

Helen.. great to see you.. oh you did well enough i think to BF for as long as you did, especially with twins. But youre exactly right.. when it comes to BF you have to look at the family as a whole. Absolutely nothing wrong with formula though.. Keiras been on it since she was 3 days old and the little miss is already trying to move!

Chrissy.. wow Liam is growing up so fast.. looks like a real little man. ;)

Laurin.. best of luck for your birth! Im sure it wont be too far away.

Marni.. if you are happy with just the 1 at the moment, thats perfectly fine. You just enjoy that little Angel you have. :)

Trampoline sounds like a great Christmas present! Would love to get one for Jesse, our yard just isnt big enough :( Hopefully we'll find another place soon with a nice big yard.

Shell.. just starting him out on 1 day to begin with. No he hasnt been before. But he just love kids so much, always has. They are more fun to him than all the toys in the world. So if he really enjoys it ill look at putting him in an extra day. Oh what type of bed are you getting for Ash? Just a normal one or girl? Are you going to have a theme for her room?
