Heath woke Nina before for a drink of water, which she had, and has kept down so far. So far, so good. Fingers crossed I get more than 3 hours sleep tonight. That's all I had last night.
Jodi.. hope Nina picks up today. They say the first 24 hours is the worst (in the case of gastro). Hoping if thats what it is you and Emily dont get it. Just keep disinfecting your hands.
Nelle.. we have a big long barrier to our kitchen.. its just a little alcov type though.. stops Jesse getting in there. Is yours designed so you can block it off? Or have you tried those cupboard safety hooks?
Helen.. good to see you, congratulations again! Hope the twins make a fast recovery and are home soon.
She slept all night, but woke up pretty early, 5.30! She seems alright, but she's not interested in any brekkie.
Kel, I've already stripped her bed and am washing her sheets right now. Hopefully whatever it is Emily and I won't get it.
Jodi.. yeh i wouldnt worry too much about food with her. Just let her eat when shes ready.. and just something dry like crackers or toast (no dairy). Hopefully she will be on the mend now.
Sorry for the lateness guys, by the time I got home its was dinner and then I went to bed early with the boys.
He is happy healthy and chubby (measuring atleast 5 days ahead, looooooong arms and legs). She didnt indicate anything was wrong. Got one lousy pic so booking a 3D scan for late January.

My kitchen has 2 entrances, and I do want to be able to have easy access since it also leads to the laundry. Just something I can block off if I'm doing something else and not watching Riv directly.
Just make sure she's drinking plenty Jodi. Hope she's on the mend.
Si is a pain with teething at the moment. Aieee I miss my unbroken sleep.
AnnaT- Glad everything in the scan looks good, this pregnancy seems to be alot better than your last.
Nelle- Can you get those stair gates? We have one at our kitchen entrance and its great!
Jodi- how has Nina been today?
I'm exhausted as usual. Tues our busy day, have art class in morn and mums group in arvo. We had mums group at the sand park today so of course when sand is mixed with sunscreen it just sticks to them everywhere!
Plus with a toddler who doesn't have day sleeps I am really starting to feel the effects of that I am so tired by 1:30 and all I want is half hour to lie down! I keep thinking if I am struggling now what the hell is it gonna be like after this baby is born???
Yeah it is Shell which does nothing for my babyfever cause it makes me want another one even though we decided no more because I cannot guarantee I dont want another one just to try for a daughter again. If I even just had 40wks of m/s I would NEVER be pregnant again. Most days I forget I even am.
Sheesh if Jett didnt have day sleeps or atleast rest in his room I would die. Not that I sleep when they do cause they dont sleep together, grrrr.
Well i may as well as have another! I get up to ruby twice a night most times,she's not been having daysleeps since she was 16months and gets up no later than 6am. Millana sneeks into our bed everynight. My SIL's new baby is better at sleeping.
I have no idea what to do and everynight i go to bed and wonder will it be different.It never is.
Ruby wants to be a baby.She asks me to hold her like a baby,calls herself "ruby baby" oh bless her sweet heart. She tells me she loves me 100times a day. Literally.lol
Shell - Vy hasnt had day sleeps since she was 14 months old....that about 2 months before I had Mateauz so I feel your pain.
anna - im so glad that gage is ok and I hear you on the baby fever.......I would love to have another baby but jed has said no way...makes me so sad :(
nelle - I dont have any gates up...we sold ours casue htey were getting dusty from no use. I always involve the kids in cooking, cleaning, even my sewing lol...gotta get cheap labour one way or the other :ROFL:
caddie - are you getting nervous about this weekend? Ive got everything crossed that it turn's out great :)
BBL - have to save Vyolett from the monster in the form of mateauz..who is now pulling himself up to stand :)

Nina loves me cuddling her, and rocking her, while singing 'rock a by baby' to her. She hated it as a baby though. And I regularly have to do it with her dolly as well :rolleyes:
nelle - how about those gates that you can put up to block the access. They fairly easy to get through, they have a lock thingy on the top. A friend of mine has one in her house for her kitchen and it works well.
annat - congrats on Gage baking away healthy :dance:
shell - I won't lie, a toddler and a baby is hard work, but you get through it. Each night you're absolutely exhausted, but somehow you manage to get up the next day and do it all over again. I had a friend email me today and tell me how much of a supermum I am! Her exact words were 'you looked great when we bumped into you at the shops... don't know how you do it! You are a proper super mum!'

I would love another, but I don't think we will. Financially, and mentally, I think we'll stick with the 2. I crave to be pregnant and give birth again though. Weird aren't I.
Nina is so-so. She was good yesterday, then at around 3pm she went downhill. She vomited, and fell asleep on the lounge room floor. This was just 10 minutes after pushing Emily around the house while she was in the highchair. She had a temp last night, but slept fairly well. Only waking at 2 to go to the toilet.
She was good this morning, so I've dropped her off at kindy. If she gets unwell again I'll go and pick her up.
In the past couple of weeks, Nina has learnt the alphabet. And it's sooo cute to hear her sing it. She even sings the ABC song at the end!
ETA: caddie - what's this weekend?
ETA 2: shell, I do the same as Maz. I always involve Nina in cooking. She loves baking daddy cakes. They turn out like *****, but he doesn't care. lol
I would die if my boys didnt sleep through. Im a person who cant function without atleast 8hrs of sleep. Feel sorry for all the mums of non-sleepers :(
Shell- all fun and games with more then one!! But yo get by basically cause you have no other choice!!! Annika loves to clean so give her a sponge and water spray bottle and she is entertained for hrs.. Teleah well, she could talk to a wall all day and be happy! SHe is the chattiest kid i have ever met!
and Millana.. cruizy baby there.. kinda has to be.

I am nervous but i know most people who see my stuff like it because things look better in real life than on store.Sometimes camera's dont do things justice.
I am making a beautiful butterfly skirt for a friends bday.The daughter is 2 but fits into 0's. She is very small. She finds it hard to find clothes that are not babyish!
Jodi i think it is habit now. My girls have me wrapped round there finger. They screama nd cry when we try to change things that they spew.
Ruby has started to play up whenerver i leave the house again or if she is left with mum or at that scrapbbok creche,sleeps. Must be a coping mechanism so now i dont want to leave her there.
ok better go,play fights on the couch happening....

Caddie - Rylee still doesn't sleep through - I would say she has slept through 6 times (and that is being generous) in her life....yay....this one better be good at the zzzzzzz's. I sympathise with you hun! Good luck this Sunday.
Shell - I am with you on the exhausted - I have no idea how I will manage when the new bub comes along - but I always think other people do so I guess I will too :)
I think I will be out of KK this year - sorry - I just think it will be one more thing I have to organise with having a new one.

Laurin- Wow so close for you now! Is Dh on his way back from overseas? I'm sure we will cope with our next ones, like you said everyone else seems to get by!
Caddie- Good luck with the markets, your right it is better to see things in person, the stuff I have bought off you looked great on the net and even better in the flesh.
Jodi- What a great e-mail to get! I know sometimes people think things but don't say so its great that she came put and said it, would've brightened yr day. Like you we'll most likely just stick with the 2, mainly financial reasons. Hope Nina is over her relapse.

I'm over summer already and it hasn't even officially started, I always am reminded this time of year how much I hate the heat!
Nina seems better today. She hasn't had a temp, or been lathargic. Hopefully it's all passed now.

The girl that sent that email to me, well she sent me another one today, letting me know that she had PND. Her DS turned 1 in August. She didn't say how long she'd had it for, but I have a feeling she's had it since he was a baby. I could see there was something wrong, she wasn't her usual self, and was becoming very distant from everyone. I kept saying to Heath that something wasn't quite right, but couldn't put my finger on it. I'm so glad she confided in me. She said she's starting to get her life back on track now, which is great.
Shar - I am going to have to opt out of KK as we have had some unexpected bills come up, so sorry.
Jodi - It is good that she has admitted it. I hope she is getting professional assistance. Glad Nina is feeling better.
Shell - I am lucky that most days J will still have a day sleep. Not every day, but at least a few a week.
AnnaT - I am glad all went well with the scan.
Gosh some of you girls must be very tired getting up still in the night. When they wake in the night, is it a quick back to sleep, or are they awake for a while? Occasionally J wakes in the night, but generally resettles in a matter of minutes. (or at least I think so as I go back to sleep!!)
I am currently waking in the night needing the loo. This little bub seems to dance on my bladder more than J did.
Off to swimming lessons.

Did I tell you that River can reach his doorknob now? So he spent one night running out at any old hour (stayed in once we were in bed thankfully), and then I moved the safety gate from Si's doorway to Riv's. He wasn't happy. ;)
nelle - Nina is doing that now too. Bummer isn't it. Our doorknobs are hard to turn, so I didn't think she'd be able to turn them for a while. But she's figured it out. She keeps going into Emily's room during the day while she's sleeping, and saying 'wake now bubby, wake now' :doh: I might have to get a gate for Emily's room, to keep Nina out!
Yeah, that's what Si's gate was for, but the boys tend to nap at the same time, and Riv doesn't often head in there, it's a pretty boring room.:

Yeah Ash is another with door knobs thats why I wonder if she'll stay in her big girl bed when she gets it, I can so see her running the hallways! I always have to keep front door locked too or she'll be straight out there.

We went into city today for the walk against warming march but being on my feet got me so dizzy, had nice picnic by yarra afterwards tho and Ash had a ball. Got so wound up tho it took her over an hour to settle to sleep tonight.
We've had a few episodes in the past where Nina would get out the front door, and I'd find her at the front in the garden :rolleyes: She hasn't done it in a while though, thank goodness!
When do you think you'll move her into a big bed shell?
We're having dinner at the beach tomorrow night, should be nice weather for it. It was soooo hot here today, got to about 34. Even the pool temp was 32! :sick:

Shell - You didn't get caught up in the Santa parade in own today? I saw on the news tonight that it was on today.
J can reach the doorknobs, but they are a little strange and he can' turn them.
So far he doesn't leave his room, but give him time, and I am sure that he will.
J and ADH has gastro again for the fourth time since july. So far I don;t have it, but knowing my luck I wil lbe posting differently by the morning. J chucked all over Dh last night, and was up for hours overnight, just feeling rotten. TOday he chucked twice, but I managed to get the bucket in front on him both times.
DH on the other hand, is a whole other issue. he was working today in echuca, anyway it really hit him this evening when he was driving home. He got as far as Rochester (an hour from our house) and got so sick that he couldn't go on, and went into the A&E at the hospital. Anyway he is still there. At this point I am not sure ifhe will make it home tonight, and I can't drive out and get him, as I have a sick little boy here.
I am just SO HOPING I DONT GET IT AGAIN!
Oh - I should also add that I hope DH is ok - when I re read the above I sound like I don't care about DH!

nelle - what times do your boys sleep? How do you get them to sleep at the same time? Nina doesn't often have a day sleep, but IF she does, it's NEVER the same time as Emily! :doh: Emily sleeps roughly 2 hours mid morning, and another 2 hours mid afternoon. If Nina sleeps, it's about 2 in the middle of the day. I would give anything for them to have a day sleep at the same time.
Meg- God, I so hope you don't get again either, just constantly wash yr hands and disenfect everything, hopefully you'll avoid it. Your DH prolly in good spot being at hosp at least they can set him up some IV fluids. We missed santa parade was on earlier than when we were in city.
Jodi- Big girl bed is on order, hoping to get before xmas and then we'll start her off in it, even tho we have bassinet for bubs I'd still like to have Ash settled in her bed before bubs comes. I don't know how you cope with the weather up there!

Jodi, the boys go down the same time, but usually Si's asleep before Riv. So I have some time in the space when Riv's asleep and I haven't realised Si's awake yet. :p They can go down around 1ish? Sometimes earlier sometimes later, depending on what time they woke, and what we've been up to. I'm blessed that Riv's happy just to hang out in his room. He's a kid who really seems to need his downtime, which is why they go down the same time. I don't care if Riv doesn't sleep (he usually does), but he needs to have some 'rest' time. I suspect Si the chatty won't day sleep for as long...
down time ... now I've been telling Nina that I think she needs to have some down time during the day as well. But she won't listen to me! She thinks it's too boring to sit still for more than 30 seconds. :wall:
Ah you see River doesn't talk, so he can't argue back. I just say 'what? I don't know what you're saying'! :p Haha.
Any tips on how to encourage him to talk guys? I've always said that if he's not saying anything by 2.5 years then I'll take him to someone who knows about these things. I think he's too stubborn, or laidback.
Nelle- Does he have many words? Does he point at things that he wants? You could try giving him 2options for things and let him point to what he wants then try enc him to repeat the word? Sound it out slowly. Maybe talk to your MCHN about it and put his name down for speech therapy? I'm just thnking in advance as waiting lists can be quite lengthy unless you go privately.
Jodi- Best down time I can get from Ash is put Dora on and sit her on her little couch with food.
