Yay Caddie- I'm always waiting for you to announce another, thats how convinced I am you will have one. 2 is it for us! Hope you all get better, everyone seems to be sick, we've had colds here.

Ness- If he sticks around when your hormonal sounds like yr on to a good thing! Enjoy your week off, make the most of it I say. I think it'll be good for your ex to have them a whole week on his own to see all the work you have to put in on your own.

Nelle- No I've not heard the story! OMG the roof, is he going to be an acrobat one day!

Meg- I'd get extra in case. A friend of mine her son loves woody from toy story and he lost the hat, this was last xmas, so he stuck it in the tree for santa to get him new hat for it as he was very upset by it, so 2 days before xmas my friend was running everywhere trying to find this doll! Nightmare, so yeah get extra in case!

We have been quiet in here, we've had Ash being very fearful of everything and anything, I posted a thread on it. I think some things she genuinlly is scared but now she is doing it everyday over everything and I'm thinking its an attention thing.

We started TT her 2 weeks ago and that went well but last 2 days she has had 2 accidents each day so we're getting there. I'm glad we waited til we were ready rather than pushing her earlier. I got sick of ppl telling me she should be trained by now etc, there kids were trained at 18 months or something.

Nelle its beautiful when they say "love you" we used to do the sign for love you and Jack did that from about 1yrs now he will come into a room or when he gets up and give me a cuggie (hug) and say "love you mummy" and if I say "love you too" he will follow with "love you most" "love you more" as I used to say this to him all the time now he beats me to the punch :heartbeat:

HI guys, sorry I havent really answered to any posts. Things have been all over the place, a lot of you guys know of the issues I have had. Well today we found out that DH has bipolar, so coming to terms with that and looking forward to finally hopefully getting better. I will try and post, but to be honest the most I do lately is read. I will pop on after Eithans specialist visit this Friday and let you all know how he is going, but for now I will take it easy. I am pretty upset but happy we can deal with it.

Today Eithan said Love you Dadda, first time he has said he loves us. Melts your heart doesnt it.

only a fly by.....hope your all well...VY drives me INSANE with her none stop talking and her tanties scremaing NO NO NO. AH I could so easily make her an abstract art work some days! We have gone back to wearing night nappies which im not fussed about and she's bene putting herself to bed at night :dance: . she doesnt tell me she loves me but if I hurt myself i get - you alright mummy...do you need me hug you.

helen - What a shock that must be for you all. There are many support groups around for Bipolar, and there is the private depression section on BB if you ever need to talk in there as well.

It is soooooo cute when they say 'love you' isn't it. Nina doesn't say it very often, she's probably only said it twice, but that's enough :)

shell - there's no right or wrong time/age to tt, it's whenever they're ready. Friend's of ours have a little boy 2 weeks younger than Nina and he has no idea about going to the toilet. And a friend of Nina's at kindy was 2 in November and she had no idea either, but since her and Nina have become friends and she sees Nina wearing undies and going to the toilet, she's starting tt herself. So it's whenever they're ready.

Ness - enjoy your camping trip, and your kid-free time!! Goodness knows you deserve a break.

caddie - ooooooh another baby, how exciting! Hopefully you can convince him!

As for obsessions with toys/charactors, Nina goes through phases. ATM, she's not really into just the one thing, but she does love her princess stuff. She loves to dress up like a princess, and at daycare she loves dressing up as Batman.

We are doing ok here. A few issues I cant go into right now for privacy reasons.

Jett says I love you a bit, esp to baby River, he's the favourite right now :lol:He's nowhere near TTing so he must be the last kid here who is still in nappies. He is obssessed with Transformers and Star Wars so thats all I hear from him day in and day out. He can sing all the theme songs by heart, but his real love is Guns And Roses 'Paradise City' :rofl: It gets played atleast twice a day. He's so grown up it makes me cry sometimes, cant believe he is 3 in less than 6mths.

Don't stress Anna, Riv's got no idea on the TT front either. Maybe in general girls catch on quicker than boys?

We've had bad news, you all know how FIL has been battling stomach cancer for over 2 years now well he only prolly has couple weeks left to live. He just can't eat or drink and he's spent more time in hospital this year than at home, lost so much weight, its got very aggressive. So Matt and his brother and mum are going in this arvo to speak to the Dr and work out what the plan is to keep him comfortable.

Maz - James does that too. If I hurt myself, hegives me a kiss and says "all better."

AnnaT - I hope everything is alright. James fave songs at the moment and the batman and spiderman theme songs from the original cartoon. He has never seen either show, and i don't know where it has come from, but he LOVES them. He now knows how to go into the internet, get onto Youtube and watch the theme songs to the cartoon. (very G rated that's why I let him) I am astounded by little kids and their computer ability. James has a Bob the Builder conputer game, and he kicks ar$e on it!

Took E to MCHN and had J's 2yo assessment done at the same time. I HATE going to the MCHN, as I am petrified they are going to tell me that they suspect something wrong. Anyway she wants me to take J to a Speechie, as although he says heaps, and talks in sentences, his words are not all that clear. Eg - he says Duddle instead of Cuddle. and his Panda Suzie, he says DeeDee.

Oh and something a little cheeky, he has taken to calling me Megan and DH Tim instead of Mummy and Daddy. He thinks it is SO funny.

meg i wish i was there to help, but i still have liam waking up at least 3 times a night, and hes nearly 1, and caity wakes up at least once......drives me absoulutly insane, and i have no one to get up to do a shift for me.

i got lucky last weekend. ;) maz you will have to call to find out all the details
liam has a bad reation to egg, and the kids feed him peanut butter on the weekend, and another trip to the ER, his face was worse than what happened when he had egg, he was bright red, and swollen, with his eyes barely visable, with his face so swollen, Very scary.....so off to the specialist soon tio see what else he cant eat. He is just about walking, and is one in 2 weeks.
caitlyn is doing well, repeats everything we say, which has caught us out alot, she is so naughty at times, and she is like the boss of the house.
as for me, not much really, looking for work, trying to lose weight, got braces on my teeth a few months back, which has done great things for my diet, my teeth have been so sore, that i cant eat, great way to lose weight........was taken out last weekend had a great night, saw a band play,and of cousrse they playes "wish you were here pink floyd"..so the tears strated again, we played that at craigs funeral, and when we were in labour with liam it was playing, and me and craig lost it, and we were both in tears to that song, so it is still so very raw.
anyway enogh of my shiat..im off to the gym, and im taking the kids to the races today, my dad works there so i get in for free...hope i have a win

meg - it's so funny when they call you by your first name isn't it Nina calls Heath 'heef', and calls me mum :lol: I'd prefer mummy though.
As for speach, is she really concerned about that? I thought it was a normal development thing if they couldn't pronounce a word properly. There are a few words that Nina can't pronounce right, mainly anything that starts with cl, like clown, she says either cown or lown.

I'm taking the girls to The Wiggles next month, very excited about that!

Jodes - I am not overly concerned about the speech. Just might be interesting to see what the speechie ways about helping him to learn to say the words properly.

Chrissy - you sound busy. Poor little Liam. I hope he is alright. Must be scary. You may ahve to start carrying an epi pen.

So how many of ypu are getting up in the night to your toddler? J is waking sometimes as he seems to be having nightmares. 2 nights ago he woke up screaming, and kicking when I tried to calm him down. I think it was a night terror.

Miss E is still a nightmare with her day sleeps. I am lucky to get 20 mins out of her 3 times a day. Unless of course we are in the car, or she is in my arms. So I am going out to the city tomorrow. I can't sit at home for days on end trying to settle the baby. I have also made a referral to the sleep school where I went with J. It is in instay place where you go for 4 nights. THat way I can focus just on the sleep issue and not have to worry about cooking, cleaning, and amusing J.

Meg- Ash wakes too most nights, she has her imagination going crazy, bees in her pillow case, spiders, bugs, been better since we leave night light on all night. Df job to get up to her anyways, thats our deal. I've also found her more sensitive in the day crying more easily.

Chrissy- Thats bit of a worry, hopefully he won't have too many or severe allergies. Good luck with looking for work.

We went and visited FIL this arvo and Ash gave him the longest cuddle when we were leaving, it made us wonder if she just could sense things were wrong, cause she never cuddles anyone like that, she just layed on him really content.

Anyone thinking about preschool and prep decisions yet? Feels like its still a little ways off for worrying about school but 2012 is not all that far away. Can you believe they are all preschoolers in 4mths or so!? We are waiting to find out our posting orders but are researching local private schools to add is name on the waitlist for. On one hand I want to cry at the idea of my boy being that grown up but on the other hand Im cartwheeling at the idea of one down - two to go :rofl:

Jetts not doing much new, same ol' tanties and attitude. Still adores River, I get sick of telling him to stop doing whatever it is he's trying to do to River that could maim him lol He's quite the rockstar now though, has his own Guns'n'Roses CD to sing along too and can air guitar like a champ.

We've put Ash down on wait list at childcare and will do kindy program thru that, one day next year then 2 days the year after. As for school there primary school round the corner, we'll consider private school for high school if Df gets a job at one so we get cheaper fees, can't afford otherwise, don't know bout other states but gets up tp $20,000 a year for fees.

we've already scoped out schools and kinders to Anna. Vy cant start until next year...one day a week..my other 2 will be in grade 4 and 2 then :(. We dont have to worry about booking our kid sinto the school...as Nikolaus and Wilhelm already go there any other children are automatically enrolled so to speak.They go to the local Catholic school..its not cheap but cheaper then some. The only thing that annoys me is that we have to pay a parish levy of $60 per student which is wiped if we do 'bingo duty' or attend church...hmmmguess who is going to pay all the fee's bar the $60 perkid :)

Chrissy - shiat woman...i think I would have lost it hearing that song too :( its floating around in my head now. OMG at Liams reaction to peanut butter and egg...scarey stuff's!!!!

We werent going to do private school til Highschool either Shell, but if we stay here our zoned public school if horrifying and we think private schools might help the boys cope better with changing schools so often. Plus we get a mega discount cause all 3 will be at school one after the other :lol: They arent too badly priced up here, we're looking at around $4000 a year/primary school for all 3 to attend one of the lower fee'd schools.

Funny you should mention schools, I was looking at that just last night on the net :D The public schools in our zone are absolute crap! There's a private school just around the corner, but it's the most expensive private school in Cairns, but the best. It's about $10,000 a year per child, and that's just for prep. But considering we're paying that for childcare for each girl at the moment, I suppose it's not too bad.
Nina already goes to daycare, and they preschool there once they turn 3.5-4. She's in senior kindy now, and will stay there until she's at least 3.5yrs.

maz - I'm soooooo excited!! I've even bought some winter clothes :dance: Hopefully I won't freeze my butt off though! lol

We have similar situation Jodi except we are paying more than private schools fee's worth off our car loan each month so by the time thats done Jett will be ready for school. We've already done without that money so may as well keep doing without and put it towards their schooling.

Jett starts in the preschool room at his daycare for half days come July/August for integration then full time after Sept but I realised some private schools have their own preschools they prefer future students to attend so if we stay here and the school we pick has that then we'll send him there next year.

Its funny how the boys birthdays worked out, because Jett is a Sept birthday he starts in 2012 but the other two boys are Jan/March birthdays so Ripley will start 2013 and River 2014. Theyll all be gone in 3 years woohoo lol I feel for the poor teacher who gets all 3 Thomson boys in a row ;)

So bumming out that I wont be at the meetup next month! Make sure you have drinkies for me!

I know my kids will go to the local primary school (we move at the end of the year, start of next year, I'm so sorry for not keeping y'all in the loop there), but I haven't really thought about kindy.
What's the reason for 3 year old kinder? Is it socialisation?

I'll be there with bells (and cold feet just for Caddie dearest) in June. :p

Nelle, I think its more that they wont get a culture shock going from 5 days at home with mum to 5 full days at school for the next 12yrs. That said, I think its a good way for them to get some of the basic skills started like reading, writing etc Obviously it isnt compulsory so its personal choice in the end.

nelle - what anna said about kindy. Just to get them ready for prep then school. I'm not sure how the schooling is in VIC, in Qld, Nina will go to prep (which is voluntary) in 2012, 5 days a week, then in 2013 she goes to grade 1. And Emily starts prep in 2013.

Nelle, 3 year old kindy here is just a social thing, most public ones are only 2.5-5hrs a week (varies place to place) then 4yr old kindy is more think bout 12-15hrs week. In my day (I'm sounding old) no one really went to 3yr old kindy think everyone just started at 4.
So are you building yr own place Nelle?

The local schools around here aren't too bad, we live in pretty good area so that helps.

We have a fantastic public school only 5 min away, but we're not in their zone, and it's not a very big school, so we don't have a very big chance of getting the girls in :cry:

nelle - I forgot to ask in my last post, did you end up building on your land?

Prep (when they're 5?) is compulsory for us. It's just a part of primary school. So next year would be 3yo kindy, 2011 would be real kindy (is that 2 or 3 days a week?) and then there's prep.

I'm just wondering - because if it's about socialisation, currently we do playgroup once a week, and then have church (so he's in creche with heaps of other little kids), and then sometimes I meet up with friends with kids...so I wonder if that will be fine for a 3 year old?

ETA: How can you not be in their zone if you're 5 min away Jodi? That's crazy talk!! Can you write to someone??

As for the house - Well! Settlement happened around Feb (we signed around July last year, but that's cool, gave us more time to save while interest rates dropped), and we signed for our house to be built maybe 2 weeks ago? We still have to get the bank copy of the contract to the bank so they can do whatever they need to do, we have pre-approval though. So yeah! It should be finished Dec-Jan. Really looking forward to having the space! Our house is seeming more and more cramped as the boys get bigger. Driving us crazy. And I can't wait to have vinyl in the main living areas instead of carpet - I picked a lot of fish and chips out of our carpet tonight.

If you're in the zone, you get first preference. Once all the kids in the zone have been accepted, if they have more spots, then they'll take kids from out of the zone. Does that make sense? We have about 6 or so public schools that only 2-5 min away in our area, but only one in our zone.

Yeah 3 year old kindy would be next year. What yr doing now would be fine as its only few hours week. I think most councils are same but you need to apply thru the kinder for 3yr old and thru the council for 4yr old and you need to apply this year for 4 year old think June they start? Just check with yr local council.

Annika already does a type of kinder, once a week she goes to the same kindy Teleah does.. for 2.5hrs.. and loves it. wants to stay every session, is hell to make her leave...

other then that things going ok here... just running a bit flat atm so have been distancing myself from things.. hopefully will sort stuff out soon and be back up and running

Funny everyone mentioned school. We were having the same disuccion here yesterda.y From our house we can walk to 3 different primary schools. State School, Monosori School or Catholic. James most likely will go Catholic, althouhg I am interested in the Montossori one, just coz J is such a hyperactive kid, it may be the better option for him. Anyway being a country town, no waitlists here etc. we are looking at a Catholic High school, and will put his name dawn fairly soon. In saying all that, i am not even Cathilic!! DH and J are though.

meg, these days doesn't even seem to matter, Df works at catholic high school and the students are all different religions now! Df isn't religious at all.

havent thought of schools here...i depends really on where i will be, might eventually move interstate, have to concentrate on jessica thorugh here school certificate, and ready to start the next journey the HSC..if she could be bothered.

went to modelling agency today, got the kids pics taken at the easter show, and they rang me, went for an interveiw, and of course caitlyn talked the socks of the lady, so im assuming she will get in if they want outgoing kids.

yes i will be there maz, and ready for yours and jodis late arrival on friday night, me and caddie might still be out checking the talent out........well i will be :)
