hey girls,

i just got home from the hospital riley had a high temp of 41 so i took him straight in and they gave he some nerofen and it worked panadol wasnt working for him the pooor thing i have to go to our dr tomorrow to have him checked over and to make sure he isnt getting to sick.

all he wants is water not milk but i dont care as long as he is drinking something.

sorry to hear that everyone else is having a bad day with there bubbas home everyone has a better day tomorrow and i will talk to u all tomorrow after i have gotten some sleep.

simon is home tomorrow so i can sleep all day YAY.

Poor Riley - hope he is feeling better now - poor little mite...

and hope all the other babies are back on track. Rylee has changed her routine now - is wanting even less sleep during the day - god help me - only has two 45 min naps which I really dont' think is enough and when she goes to bed at 7 pm wakes up 40 mins later for a bit more to drink - not sure what is going on and is still waking up 2 to 3 times during the night - enough whinging from me - prob just another phase.

Xmas is nearly here - YAY - have put up the tree today and even have some pressies underneath, just need to get Rylee & James' pressie and all will be done.

thanks laurin, sounds like rylee is growing cause thats what riley was doing 2 weeks ago lol. just hang in there she might go back to her old ways again . well you can hope :)
wow its coming so quick i dont like it lol i was only preggie yesterday lol well that what it feels like :)

well im off to get akira to kindy and then its home to bed for me i dont think my body can cope another day with out sleep im up to day 3 with none :( bloody kids lol:)

Thanks for the info chrissyt,sounds like ruby to a tee so i will try and implement what the dr has reccommended.I have had her in her cot the last 2 nights and so far shes been good.Waking at 2am for a feed and up for the day at 530am.She has been napping lately though,1hr blocks,which is annoying as she does get overtired during the day.Hopefully it will change soon.Shes got the farts at the mo so i better sort that end out!!

caddie- i have been wondering the same thing. why are our lil bubbies so restless!!
savanna slept from 9pm till 8am 2 nights ago. since then she has been waking up constantly through the night and tossing her head around. she will hardly sleep during the day, waking every hour to two hours. she screaming at the moment so i cant do any personals. my sis inlaw and cousin said their lil ones have been doing the same thing. maybe its somethin in the air!! whatever it is i hope it passes!!! what normally takes me 45 minutes from feeding changing and putting to sleep took me 3 hours last night!. it felt like i was back at the start again. and then she kept waking up all through the night.
sigh

anyways better go give her a hug shes screaming for sleep but wont sleep.

hi girls, started reading this thread two hours ago then got distracted feeding babies and stepson, making picnic lunch for DH and SS who are going to Adventure World (waterslides and rides) and now i've forgotten what everyone said! hugs to all those with restless unsettled bubs, and hope riley is better today.

chrissyt - i take ainsleigh to the chiro too. she has always been an excellent sleeper, so don't attribute that to him, but i think her reflux has definately improved since she's been going (that said she threw up all down my pj top this morning....nice!)

i have my last MG today... sorry that anna and rach are having difficulties with theirs. mine is very relaxed, just lots of chatting and milestone talking amongst each other.

well Jack went down at 10pm slept till 5am and was abck in bed by 1/2 past and slept till 8.30am he is back down not fully asleep but napping, I think the panadol may have helped he is still very snuffly sounding

morning all, I've been really slack the last couple of days. I read everyone's posts, but couldn't be bothered posting myself (smack for me)
We have officially started solids this week :D. I was initially going to wait until 6 months, but something made me think twice about that and start this week (mothers intuition maybe??) and she loves it! I've started her on rice cereal mid mornings for the moment, she hates the original flavour, loves peach and apple or whatever it is. We've had a highchair on layby for a couple of weeks now (only cost us $50 - on sale at KMart) and Heath is picking it up today as it's very hard to feed her while she's in the bouncer, she keeps kicking her legs with excitement and then she starts bouncing, and food goes everywhere! She's already discovered the spoon and wants to do it herself lol
Apart from that nothing else is happening up our way, she's a real porker now, fits comfortably in 00's, I reckon she's well in the 6kg mark.
A friend of ours has a baby boy born beginning of Sept and he weighed 7pound 13 born, and now weighs in at a whopping 7.8kg!!!!!!!!! :eek: that's one big boy. He is formula fed and apparently has something like 350ml EACH FEED.

rach - I'm glad Jack is feeling ok now. He definitely had a good sleep last night.

adele - how's Riley this morning? Hope he gets better soon. you poor thing, it really isn't your year is it. I know what your new year's resolution is: healthy kids and a supportive husband!

rikki - my MG is very relaxed as well. Nina is the youngest of the group by about 2 months but seems to be doing just as much as the others anyway. Except naughty me completely forgot about the farewell lunch yesterday...another smack for me!

laurin - when Rylee wakes after the first 40 minutes at night, have you tried settling her before offering her another feed? Babies sleep patterns are that after 40 minutes they go into a deeper sleep, but when they're so young they don't know how to put themselves back to sleep, so they wake up. I go into Nina 30 minutes after she's gone to sleep and re-settle her before she wakes up. Whether that be patting her, having my hand on her chest or just putting the dummy back in. The last couple of weeks Nina was only sleeping twice a day, and between 2-4pm is her whinging time when she's tired but won't sleep, it'll normally take me around an hour to settle her and she'll eventually sleep, but I'm trying to make her have 3 sleeps a day. See how you go with it anyway.

Anna** - how are you going with the exercises with Xander? Are his neck muscles improving? I'm another in my mothers group that uses cloth. I alternate between cloth and disposable, cloth at home, disposable while out and at night. No-one I know here uses cloth at all.

maybe all the bubs are going through their growth spurts, or it could be the heat as well. I notice when it's really hot here, Nina is really out of sorts for the day. At the moment I can't even feed her without her laying on a pillow on my lap as it's just too damn hot and she and I sweat.

I cant even go there with posts today.. My eyes are stinging and I jsut got back from Wilhelms school break up which was good bar Vyolett screaming her ring out the whole time. now she's in her cot grizzely and wanting cuddles...my back is so sore from it today....IM OVER MOTHER HOOD just for a little bit. I could so go with some respite right now..HA HA HA an this the weekend that Jed goes away for 2 nights. IM going to be bald on monday.

Well back from the DR again and I am on stronger antibiotics to clear me up and poor Alexander is on Peadiatric Amoxil.. he has a chest infection.. .. poor little man ..

I have booked Dd in to day care for an extra day tomorrow so i can catch up on some sleep!

Maz i have some absolutely fabulous nappy liners if you would like them.They are bright stripy colours and they help repel poo and wee off skin.They are easy to wash and no stain.Free because you are my friend!!Just let me know.
Apart from that i honestly think ruby has mild torticollis too but im not going to stress until The dr says something needs to be done.Her skull is quite misshapen and she always faces the left.She also gets pain i think if i hold her wrong too.Probably why B/F went defunct when igot home!!

oh you girls I really feel for you all. Im so lucky that this time round that things are going good (for once in my life) and that I finally have normal baby although I wouldn't trade me other 2 for the world.. Third time the charm for me. lol.
Caddie - Id love them if that's ok hon. iM sick of the fleece one's, I end up throwing them out.

Well, I'm going for the bad mummy of the year awards today. I'm that sick and tired of Xander whinging that I have put him in his cot and turned on his aquarium thingo - and left him there. Hopefully he'll go to sleep, but if not, too bad, I need to eat! (He doesn't get the concept that if Mummy doesn't eat or drink - neither does he)

How does anyone here get time to do housework and cook? or have you all just given up? I'm really struggling as I like a clean house and decent dinners... but Xander just doesn't give me the time to do it.

Hugs Anna, nope no tidy house here. And sadly we dont have the best meals, or if we do they are not always at the best times.
You are definantly not a bad mother, there is nothing worng with letting them have a bit of a whinge. Took me a while to wakt to Eithan this morning, I heard him crying in my dream for ages before I clicked that it was him.

God what is going on with our bubs? Sounds like they are all playing up, keeping us on our toes, Ash keeps having these crying sessions over nothing well nothing i can find, then couple hours later she's giggling and smiling, I think she has multiple personality!

Anna**- Don't feel bad Anna, yesterday when Ash was having screaming sessions got so annoyed at one point and put her in the bassinet shut the door and let her scream for bout 5 mins. Felt bad afterwards but we so need a break sometimes. It is hard to find time just to eat then we end up feeling like crap.

I'm pretty lucky here, Df does the cooking and cleans the big stuff, I usually just do dishes and washing and maybe bit tidying.

AnnaT- Congrats on the weight loss, thats great!

little*princess- Hope you and Alexander fix yourselves up soon, rest as much as you can.

Jodi- Thats good to hear Nina is enjoying her food, my mum told me I would never eat as a baby and she was stressing all the time, I loved my milk but thats all I'd take!

Anna - Vy's been that bad today I had the urge for a cigie. I walked away and let her scream for 10 until her voice was horse and then I went a picked her up and cried with her. I usually hang my washing up at night and get all my little house work done then too when the kids are a sleep. I have their bags ready to go then and lunch etc done, all at night. I usually vac the floor when vy has one of her fits lol. I having been using my slow cooker to the max to. I put what ever has to be done in it in the morning and just put it on auto. I use alot of frozen vegies and peel my spud then too. Im always up first so I usually get alot done then. Otherwise it just looks like a tip and I freak out. I cant handle mess..

Shell- your one lucky chicky having DH do that for yuo. I cant complain, mines pretty good though.
Caddie - I could kiss you boney butt lady. that nappy is fantastic, it still has the new smell. Your mad woman. lol. Hope yesterday sorted itself out for you mate.
AnnaT - you b'artch for losing 2 kg...only joking. Good on you, its my new years reso. I never have done one so I might aswell.

wow what a day!!
shellbell i have had the same situation over here today too.
this morning savanna woke up at 7 and was clingy from then on.
i just could not put her down she would just start wingeing.
i have moved her into her own room now cause hubby works nights and tends to wake her up when he is getting ready for work. she is fast asleep in her cot now.
thank goodness!! i was able to have a shower, relax and cook dinner.
i had her in her swing this morning watching me re-arrange all the decorations on the tree cause i wasnt happy with them lol

she was screaming till daddy came home this afternoon. she had a bath with daddy then a little dose of panadol (i think she may have a slight fever) and 60mls of milk then was out like a light.
good thing i had the cot ready in her room.

i had to take it apart as it would not fit through our bedroom door and then reassemble it again.
hopefully when she wakes up she will be nice to mummy :)

anna** - dont feel bad we all go through them same thing hun. i let a few F words slip last night when she would not go to sleep. hubby yelled at me and i gave him a few F words too hahahaha oh and i do alot of my house work when savanna wakes up in the morning. i put her on her play mat where she is content for while and then run around doing what needs to be done. but my saviour is her musical swing! i recommend it to everyone!

annat- congrats on the weight loss hun! i lost a few kilos too but i feel i have put some back on. this morning i weighed myself and looks like i lost 2 kilos since last week.. weird :D

now its cooled off nicely, im finally having something to eat then straight to the couch for my tv time! yayy haha

Anyway, Anna, pfft about a clean house and don't worry about leaving Xander to cry, I heard Riv crying while I was in the shower this morning (surprise surprise) and I figured if I could hear him crying he was alive. I was so determined to have a shower before afternoon happened! (just made it) So I feel rather human today for once.

And yay to the girls who are losing weight! We don't have scales so I am in blissful ignorance :lol: I would rather go by how I look and feel rather than what I weigh, if I'm happy with that (getting there) then who cares how much I weigh.

I've been another that's been a bit sick of being a mum, but River seems to have crashed on his playmat so I am enjoying the peace (and I've had some food!)

it is bugging the hell out of me, checked out other ISP today can get same cost etc thru another but will cost $100 to transfer over :eek:

am going to threaten ISP when they ring if they dont fix this prob now I shall go to other ISP LOL

what on earth has happened to the bubs - must be going through one of their 'phases' - only good thing is you know in a couple of days they will be doing something totally different just to freak you out. Well, I am changing Rylee's night time routine and going to give her a big feed later on in the evening see if it makes a difference, and if that doesn't work I am going to try her on some rice cereal at night to see if that settles her - even though I have heard about the six month thingo and early solids causes allergies etc, my paediatrician recommended it to me the other day and I was holding off to see if Rylee improves but she hasn't so will try the late feed and if not go with the rice cereal.

Not much else to report, had a nice lunch out today with one of my friends who has a two week old bub - so tiny - Rylee looked like a giant compared to him!!

Better go, happy sleeps to all the bubs!

Ashleigh is finally asleep after a 40 min battle of screaming. I don't know what is going on with her, I've posted about it in the General baby and toddler discussion area. If anyone has any advice be great, it sounds like alot of us are having similar probs!

Laurin- Is Rylee not settling at night? Is that why you need to give the feed? I have more probs in the day although I do have to het up 2 sometimes 3 times a night with her. I don't know what happened 4 weeks ago she was waking once a night and things have just gone downhill from there.

Sharleen- Sounds like a very busy weekend. Skip the ironing, i think I've only ever ironed 2 items in my whole life.

Might make some breakfast quickly while I get the chance!

well after a crappy afternoon jack was in bed around 10.45pm slept till 5am back in bed till 8am, but looks like another wingy day *sigh*

i am gettin depressed i can't seem to catch up with the washing,housework, ironing etc, doesn't help when nights like last night jack is cranky, so jase goes to bed leaving me to settle jack, wash dinner dishes, wash,sterilize do bottles, iron his work clothes, tidy lounge, i got bed around 11.30pm

and now i have washing to nag out, washing to fold ironing to do and jack doesn't want to be put down, gotta have shower and get to shops as well

ok I have the bug what are you thankful for as 2006 comes to a close, at the moment its Jack being asleep:lol:

1. Jan ~ celebrated new years day with my true love our 7th together
2. Feb ~ got a much wanted
3. Mar ~ got to see my little bee's heart beating away
4. Apr ~ found out bee was 100% perfect no NTD
5. May ~ found out bee was a little boy Jack Robert
6. Jun ~ started anti natal and finally made some purchases for Jack
7. July ~ found out I have a weird heart beat, Jack decided he might like to come early, but OB managed with drugs to make him stay put
8. Aug ~ first ambulance ride, first plane flight (thank you RFDS) , flown to brisbane to make sure Jack stays put again, am thankful for ronald mcdonald houses, we spent 2 weeks in brisbane
9. Sep ~ first helicoptor flight, another stay in hospital, another plane flight and to end Sept on a high the birth of the most precious creature ever, my perfect son Jack, born 2 days after my precious Katy's 3rd birthday in heaven
10. Oct ~ motherhood begins, 5 years married, 5 years TTC ( 4 precious angels) and finally a baby in our arms
11. Nov ~ Jack what more is there to say
12. Dec ~ our first xmas with Jack

to top of the year, here's to all our wonderful friends and Family thanks for being with us thru this incredible exhausting year, but what a year its been

Feb: we bought Heath a new toy, a new Toyota Hilux .... argghhh ... very expensive!!!
Mar: Heath turned 30!! He's over the hill now hehehe ;)
Apr: Went to Whitsunday's for a holiday and I had no m/s the whole time!!
May: my b'day!! also went part-time at work
June: quit work, m/s too much too handle
July: loved being a housewife, got to do lots of shopping before bub arrived
Aug: celebrated our first wedding anniversary and welcomed Nina on the same day!
Sept: my grandparents came to meet Nina, we had 4 generations of women there
Oct: not much happening here
Nov: another boring month
Dec: celebrating our first Christmas with Nina

Feb: 2nd Ultrasound after noticing some spotting
Mar: 3rd Ultrasound (I suspected he was a 'HE' from the u/s, but sonographer wouldn't confirm) - already could feel the faintest flutters.
Apr: Nicknamed the little guy Wongy.
May: It's a boy - another ultrasound! My sister got married.
June: My best friend got married
July: Finally started showing. 2 more ultrasounds to measure as I was teeny.
Aug: Missed my final day at work as the impatient little bugger couldn't wait and arrived 3 weeks early!
Sept: Waiting for all you guys to pop! DH celebrates first Fathers' Day.
Oct: Just enjoying being a Mum
Nov: DH's birthday.
Dec: Xander's First Christmas!!!

:D well jack slept from 9.40-11.40am had a feed we ducked to shops it is so hot,when I got home I plomked him on mat on floor he had a little whinge and went to sleep, he is stirring now but am going to ignore him for a bit if I can, it is too hot o nurse him, jase be home with lunch soon then a/c in bedroom goes on and thats where jack and I are going to spend the arfternoon :)

Girls - im going to have to go through all my months and work out what happened and when. my pg was a headache with renovating, Wilhelms doctors appointments and Jed's 30th. I will get back to you all later on it.

Im so knacked from Vy yesterday. Thankfully today she's been really god, and she slept through to 7.30 this morning. ah f&&king ants everywere! We ended up giving her some dymadon cause she screamed so high pitched it wasnt funny. and she's got the runs abit to. Quiet funny seeing that she was clogged up at 2 months old.
Ive got Nikolaus home spewing like a trooper so I better go
Just thought I'd get on and say hello to everyone and if im not on this weekend its because im home alone with the 3 kids. Jed's gone to his brothers bucks night and I might actually get some sanity.

LOL, I too am thankful that (so far) River's having a mostly cheerful day! Perhaps cos I've given in and aren't trying to accomplish anything else today :P

Yeah , for babies born in Sept, 2006 has been all about them hasn't it!
Jan: did about a million preg tests after being able to smell things better and feeling a bit sick.
Feb: Was too sick on our 2nd wedding anniversary, so we went out the next night.
Mar: Ultrasound to confirm and told our parents
Apr: Felt Riv moving around here
May: People still didn't believe I was pregnant, cos I wasn't showing. Ultrasound.
Jun: Very busy working and helping my friend plan her wedding.
Jul: My best friend got married. Think I finished work this month too.
Aug: Ran's 24th birthday!
Sept: River Jude made his appearance!
Oct: River turned purple...ohh still gives me a funny feeling to think about it.
Nov: My 23rd birthday and River's first smile
Dec: Christmas! (and will we manage to bd before 2007? Time is running out! :lol:)

It's the weekend! Starting to feel a bit more like Christmas too I reckon. I think I will be away from Rans most of tomorrow though :( He's got his best friend's suit fitting for his wedding at Fountain Gate, and I'm going to a brunch. Ah well. It's just been one of those weeks, and it'll be one of those weekends, and then perhaps next week will be calmer.

Rach, is there someone like a friend or relly that can entertain Jack while you get some jobs done? Sometimes I've got my mum here on the couch to read a book and restick the dummy in, rock, sing to, etc, while I get some tidying done. Or perhaps you could even schedule 'babysitting time' for Jase while you catch up? I don't know...it's not like my house is clean anyway. :) Hope your day gets better.
