Question for those breastfeeding:
I've got 810ml of EBM in the freezer.
In a 24 hour period she will have roughly 6 feeds (3.30am, 7am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 11pm), 2 of which are bigger than the rest (10am & 6pm) she'll be at daycare for 10am & 2pm feeds.
She'll have 2 lots of solids in this time. (9am & 4pm)
How much EBM should I give them?? Is 360ml enough? I've got some in 50ml, 60ml and 100ml lots. Should I give them a mixture of this?

Shell - hugs to your for your FIL. I hope everything goes well with the laproscopy.

The only person ever to comment about Nina's head is MIL, always mentioning the flat spot, she doesn't think she should have one ... whatever!

on the AF being late thing, tolf Jed tonight and he's not even worried. OMG shock horror, I thought he'd be out of his skin. It would give me an excuss to be fat atleast. lol.

hi girls havent been around as Julia so unsettled with teething and very clingy too has anyone else found this? She is so cute today though on her side having fun but always wants me to be with her and putting things in her mouth. Got new pics on my website if you want to have a look.

Ness - I had the same thing happen with Julia I would find her at the other end of the cot so I bought a sleeping bag too. You can get cheap ones at Big W or Kmart or Target....

Mazzie, about Jed not being worried, I could be generalising, but it's my experience that once it's happened, guys are okay with it all - like, Rans was very iffy about whether he wanted kiddies yet, but when we realised I could be pregnant, he wasn't fazed at all, thought it was great! They just don't want to have to make the decisions about whether the family can cope and all that.

Kell, Riv's got that lovely bald patch too - looks around so much! Reckon that might ease up now he's rolling onto his side more.

And Rikki, one day a fortnight! That's do-able I'd reckon! It wouldn't be worth it financially though would it, would you just be working to keep from going rusty?

shell - so sorry to hear about your FIL. How's hubby? Must be so difficult to receive news about parents. I know I think mine are indestructable.

Nelle - If it's relief, it is worth doing (about $220/day). Plus my Mum will have Ains so will be free for childcare. Just keeps me sane with regular adult contact. Can't remember what else I was going to say.... my brain is dead!

We're off to try a playgroup tomorrow. My neighbour goes, so just an opportunity to meet a few more mums in the area. Am only going casual tho, can't commit to too much during the week (already doing swimming and MG) as otherwise I'll never be home during DH's week off.

Rikki - One day a fortnight would be ok I reckon.. especially knowing bubba girl is with your mum instead of childcare. You must have such a busy calender with all these meet ups of yours!

Shell - So sorry to hear about your FIL, hope that it hasn't spread further than the stomach. How is your DF?

Belle - Xander is mega unsettled too lately, he started getting clingy at around 5 months and he still is. So I totally sympathise with you there! Funny how we were talking about teething etc and I was saying that Xanders' seem to have settled down again... well, I think I spoke too soon as tonight he was in hysterics rubbing his gums. Gave him some Dymadon and Sedagel (yep both) and he has finally gone to sleep.

Nessa - Target have some cheap thin sleeping bags, better still if you have a Target Baby nearby as they have a much bigger range. I picked one up for Xander a while ago on sale at DJ's for $25 - it was a snugtime branded one and really nice (shame he has outgrown it now).

Jodi - I think a mixture of those amounts is a good idea to save wastage. Will Nina take any formula at all... or water? That could be a lifesaver to tide her over until you figure out exactly how much she needs left with the centre.

Caddie - How was that thing on Pinky McKay? I missed it as Xander was spacking it.

Nelle - Glad your loving the new car... no probs parking so far?

Sharleen ~ Ewww, i sympathise about the homebrew smell.... did he spare you while you were pregnant? Shopping for 7? How many children do you have?

Chrissy ~ Another with 7? I don't know how you all do it!! How did the weigh in go? How big is Caitlyn? Aaah i just caught up on your last post, she seems to be doin fine. And Caitlyn probably does have a perfectly shaped head. There are some babies out there that are unfortunate to have egg shaped heads, big heads or even worse... my nephew happened to be one of them, only now has he really grown into it with the rest of his body.

*Belle* ~ I hope Julia's teething settles down for you. It's so hard when they're inconsolable.

AnnaT ~ Hey there.... Thanks for the comment on my childrens names. If i'd had my way, Matilda would in fact have been a "Charlie". Only now since Matilda has been born, my hubby is going around telling everyone that he only settled on the name Matilda because i liked it sooo much! When in fact he's the one that suggested Matilda as a name, and it grew on ME! Aaaargh men! Oh well... she definately looks like a Matilda now . When you say Darcy is your pick for a girl, are you talking about your next baby?

Nessa83 ~ Hehehe, i don't know where i'd be without my internet and my online buddies. So i can relate . It's great having information at the touch of your fingers. Unfortunately since Matilda has been staying awake longer periods, i'm finding i really don't get to sit down here at the pc until about this time (9.30pm onwards).

Maz ~ Hi there.. hey i noticed your childrens names sound kind of German, is there any German influence through your family? My parents are from Berlin, hence the reason why your childrens names stuck out .

Shellbell3 ~ I'm so sorry to hear about your father-inlaw. On the 19th of this month it's the 3 year anniversary of my hubby's fathers death. Due to myeloid leukemia. I hope your father-inlaws tests come back with more positive feedback.

RE: $600 per child centrelink lump sums ~ I'm still waiting on hubby to hand in his tax from the last financial year... he's lucky his uncle is an accountant and is doing it for him. So i'm still waiting to see if i get 2 x $600 for last year. Grrrr! And then hubby wants to put it on credit card expenses. Double Grrrr!:wall:

General Question ~ Just wondering what you all do when it comes time to immunisation? Do you give panadol before the needles or not? I'm still undecided on whether to or not :rolleyes:.

Thanks Kylie, I reckon he's a bit of a cute one. As for immunisation, River isn't! Yet. I'm still deciding what i want him to have - I'm working through it with my community nurses. But I think you're supposed to wait til AFTER the needles to give pain relief, cos giving it before the injection could mask a reaction so you wouldn't notice it.
I think if needles really bother River, then I'll consider panadol afterwards.
Oh, and I forgot to say, we're not supposed to put in links - UMAHHHH you're so dobbed on, lol, I'm so primary school :D I can't remember why that is, but you can write the address and leave a space, like bellybelly. com.au does that make sense?
There are lots of rules here, but I don't mind being more tightly moderated if that means we don't have lots of the nastiness that you can find on other forums sometimes.

Shellbell.. Im so sorry to hear about your FIL. I pray for you that it hasnt spread anywhere else. My FIL has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, and he isnt even a smoker. They removed what they thought was everything just before Christmas and he had another xray last week which has showed another shadow on the other lung, so he needs to have another scan to see what it is.. we pray its just a shadow and nothing serious.

Nessa.. i know you can get sleeping bags from Big W and Kmart.. im sure even target.. most places sell them.. theyre just not the different togs.. but i think its just common sense on what you put on them.

Nelle.. yeh i didnt think about that.. Jesse seems to start his sleep by rolling on his side lately so hopefully that will aid the bald patch. When he was only a few weeks old, he actually lost all the hair on top of his head, bar a strip down the middle.. so he looked like a little old man hehe. Wow you were up late!

Maky.. yeh we give Jesse panadol before we go.. he had a really bad reaction to his 2 month ones so we gave it to him with his 4 monthers and he was fine.. so will continue to do that.. cant hurt. I like that nickname for Matilda.. Tilly :) Very cute!

hope everyone has had a good night. me on the other hand was up past 2am with riley screaming and akira up and down. and where was simon in bed like normal snoring. he said to me this morning did i have a good night but did he get an ear full. then to top it all of he was running late for work so he wanted me to drive him just so he could fiish in time to watch the kids tonight while i go to weight watchers.

ahhh things we do for them hey and they cant even give you a hand when you really need it.

sorry for the vent but i had to get it off my chest or ill go insane. (well more than normal lol)

Thanks for all your thoughts girls bout FIL. I think everyone is still in shock but trying to keep positive. Df is pretty upset as you would expect, he's not talking much just trying to keep busy so he doesn't have to think about it. He still gone off to work today. I think they are all worried to cause Df SIL's father also had stomach cancer which had spread and he died and as most of you prolly know its not a nice way to go, you usually get pretty sick.

Besides that I've had minimal sleep thanks to Ashleigh deciding to wake every 1.5- 2hours! My eyes are hanging out my head. She always seems to do this when I have something on, like today I am meeting up with people I used to work with for lunch I think she knows this!

Ashleigh is really starting to move, yesterday she was resting in her bouncer and she saw her toy and she pretty much climbed out to get it! Lucky I was there watching. I think now its getting to a point I can't leave her in a room alone unless I put her in the playpen.

adele- Hows Riley this morn? Do you know why he was screaming or just one of those things?

Kellxx- When is he going to have the scan? Its terrible isn't it when you don't smoke or do anything bad to yourself yet still end up sick like that.

MaKy- As Nelle said, give the panadol after cause you don't want to mask a reaction. Ashleigh didn't have any the first time and I only gave one dose after 4 months one cause she was quite irritable.

Belle- Is Julia behaving herself today? I hate it when they are in that clingy stage, you can't even get to the toilet without the house being screamed down.

Well Im sitting here with puffy eyes and a headache. The shyte hit the fan last night with Dh and we had a huge row over his involvement in this family. Its really been building up or awhile but we had HIS friends over lastnight and I cooked pizza for them all and as usual I get attitude from him and mess in my house. Then Jett started screaming and nothing made him happy so I gave him to DH who promptly put him aside and haphazardly shoved a bottle in his mouth, then gave him back when it didnt work. I got so mad I exploded and just ranted about everything I could think of, but mostly about his non-effort in raising his son. Then one of his friends started lecturing me on the way children feel and think (mind you he has none bar neices and nephews) and said that it takes Dads years to bond with their kids and that kids dont care until their older whether their parents bond with them or not. I think its a total load off bull. Sure most Dads have to work at bonding with their kids, we're lucky enough to automatically get it, but it has to start when their born or by the time theyre at an independent stage MUM is going to be the universe and Dad will be nothing.
Anyway long story short Dh said a few alarming things to me and I ended up ringing up MIL to just vent and get a 2nd opinion. In the end I decided to leave and Dh said he wont stop me but I'd better be ready to leave with nothing and have a custody fight on my hands, because he will tell the courts Im a psycho.

This morning though, I *THINK* I vaguely remember him kissing me goodbye in my sleep and saying "Love you" so who knows WTF is going on now.

Im going to research my options though, I just cant do this anymore. The only thing stopping me apart from the fact I love Dh and KNOW he is better than this, is that I have no furniture, car or money.

So if Im MIA for awhile dont worry.

I am taking millana to a childcare centre this morning to check it out.Last night i had changed my mind and didnt want to take her but i will see what happens this morning.If she is happy im happy if she cries shes not going!!! The only reason im putting her in is the dr thinks i need to for my sanity and with all my family going away i wont have time if i need to do important appointments and such. She may enjoy the painting and such.If i do take her it will most likely only be from 830am to 12pm.We will see.

Hope it sorts itself out.From what everyone has told me,the first couple of yrs in a relationship is damn hard when babies come along.Most of my friends have said they have been close on the divorce front.Take each day as it comes and talk to hubby when your both not angry.By the way your friend has no idea what he is talking about and until he has his own should butt out!

annat- i can tell u it is hard to do it ll on your own i did it for 2 yrs and never want to di it again. plus your marriage will be tested big time as there has been a huge change in it. try and do whats good for you. i have full custody of both the kids as simon has bi-polar and i out smarted him by putting the form for him to sign with all the other paper work that was needing to be signed.

Chrissy - doesnt matter that im not pg either way im not stressed out. Id preferr to wait until october. I bet you get a BFP now. the funny thing was, I had bought the pg test and was about to open it on th eloo when I though, hm wait and see and da da..AF arrived.
A certain little girl is starting to crawl backwards. Not far, just a few little paces. She gets so $hitty that she's not up and about that she screams and yells at us and she is moving with out even noticing. I think she's gonig to be early like NIkolaus was. He wlaked at 10 months and ate a whole wendys hotdog by himself at 12 months

Im knackered. How long do you all keep the babies up after they feed before you put them to sleep? She doesnt want to sleep today sigh and gets bored easily.

AnnaT.. oh you poor pet :hug: I think most of us have gone through something similar.. i did last week with my DH and me battling his damn Warcraft game. We sometimes say hurtful things but dont really mean it. Im just glad he took note when i had my biatch to him last week. But being a mum is such an emotional and draining job and no one in the world can even try to understand unless they are one themselves. Honey, i really hope it doesnt come to that but the mother usually always gets custardy anyways, and youre not a phsyco! And trust me if you were to walk out he wouldnt know what had hit him.. men dont realise what theyve got till its gone. But we're hear for you, you know that, ok..

Belle.. Im so buggered too.. hense my msn thingy. With Jesse re the feed-sleep.. i put him down when he looks tired. Usually in the morning's he'll nap out in the lounge room for a half hour or so and then his long day sleep is usually between 10.30am-2pm.. if he's not looking sleepy by 11.30am i just put him in bed.. sometime's he'll talk and play in there for a little while but then will always fall asleep. At night.. he has his last bottle at about 7.30pm and will put him down straight after that.. he's in his sleeping bag before hand so he knows its sleep time and 9 times out of 10 goes to sleep without any problems.

Maz.. hehe yay on Vy going backwards! Jesse does the same.. complains his head off, yet he moves himself around in circles and doesnt realise it..

Nessa.. i know i hate it when they cry... especially when you know its coming and they dont.

Well.. went and bought Jesse some bowls and spoons today.. getting very excited now about his solids. Also bought him a sippy cup which i want to try and get him to start drinking some water and one of those Tommee Tippee Food Trap thingys you guys have, which i reckon he's going to love as he loves sucking on his washers!

Looks like its gonna poor here any minute.. cmon, rain dance time :dance:

maz- shaking booty till oct then i guess lol. riley is starting to do what vy is crawling backwards it funny to watch him ccause that red head temper of his comes out i guess he got that from his mummy lol.

belle- riley can keep going after a feed but it depends on what sort of mood he is in. do what you think is right for julia you are a great mum and just do what you think is best for her. you might need to get a sotage box and some new toys and change to toys around know what i mean.

kellx- wow sounds like you have been busy lol. riley love his food trap he has it when we have our tea lol. if he has been good he gets a chippee in it lol.

DH said he never heard of it... just gave Jess a super quick one as the storms heading our way (YAY!) but was curious if anyone else had heard of this?

Belle - ive got one of those baby fun gyms that the baby sits in to play. it goes around 380 degrees and there's heaps of things for the baby to play with. I usually put Vy in it when she's have enough floor time cause she wants to stand. I'll take a pic tonight and email it to you.
Kell -stop rubbing in about the rain..oh I wish it would fooy rain here. My gardern is almost dead again. never heard about lightning and baths either mate but ive heard about staying of the phone when theres lightening.

Hi all,
Had a nice lunch today, Ashleigh got tired so grizzled through half of it. Thats the prob with going out she won't sleep unless you stand holding her and rock her to sleep or you wait til shes so tired that she can be fed to sleep. How do other babies go sleeping out in the day? Any tricks? She won't even fall asleep from rocking the pram anymore which is quite annoying.

Kellxx- hmm not sure on that one, maybe the lightening will flash thru the window and water with electricity don't mix? Doesn't make sense to me really!

*Belle*- Ashleigh is usually awake for 1.5- 2 hours then will sleep (only 40mins!) Sometimes on bad days she won't sleep and is up for hours being very irritable. Did Julia sleep at all for you today? Is she cranky from not sleeping?

caddie- Thats great Millana enjoyed the daycare so much, even times when you just need a rest you could send her there.

AnnaT- How are things? I hope your able to sort things out. Sometimes we say things we don't mean when we are angry, hopefully you and DH can sit down and have a good chat bout all the issues your having.

God I am so tired, Ashleigh better not repeat last night. Been out all day, after picking Df up from school we went grocery shopping so I'm knackered.

kellxx- i have tried it with the formula and it was fine for me lol. the lighting and bath thing only counts if the bath is out side lol. so its safe to have a bath inside lol. cant wait to get them they will be good for when its hot lol.

maz- lol ur is trouble then to lol. my last name is german so we have that in our blood as well lol. aswell as scottish lol.

grrrr lost my post so went and fed the girl and have come back for take two.
kell - never heard of that, but would think the roof would take the impact and it would never reach the bath.... don't know for sure tho
maz - no rain here either.
belle - ains is usually awake for an hour and a half between sleeps, so wakes up, has a bottle and a play then back to bed 90 mins or so later. only sleeps for 45 mins, and does this three times a day. hope julia is doing better at sleeping today

hi ladies,

we went to look at a house today.
It looked fantastic on the net. the outside pic looked great and the desciption sounded too good to be true..... WELL IT BLOODY WAS!!

we went all the way to the agents to pick up the key only to realise i had left my ID in hubbys wallet which he had left at home. so we drove all the way home picked it up and went back to get the keys from the agent.

The house was horrible~!!! it still looked great from the outside but once inside it was like a tiny little unit rather than a huge spacious house like described. It had BLUE CARPET!!!!! BRIGHT DARK BLUE HORRIBLE!! ewwwwwwwwwww i didnt even bother looking at the rest we just walked out.
So we wasted a good day on this crap place grrr i was so angry. The ad was so misleading it was ridiculous!! The funny thing is the houses around it looked like mansions and were stunning so we thought it would be great too. Oh well... we shall keep on looking...
Lucky for us Savanna is such a content and good girl.

Hmm what else. Oh yes, bummer about your wasted time Ambz, house descriptions can be misleading hey. Try not to focus tooo much on things like carpet and paint/tile colour which one day can be changed - sounds like this house was too small anyway, but you'd hate to pass up a house with a brilliant floor plan just cos the carpet was gross, and you could save to change the carpet eventually.

Oh Maz, thanks for bringing it up, Wendy's hotdogs (with cheese) are the bomb! I had one a few days before I had Riv and MIL was like, 'you shouldn't be eating that' - and I remember thinking that she was a total idiot because it was fine if I went into labour then anyway (my thoughts weren't particularly charitable towards others in the final days :lol:).

hello again!

we are looking for a rental so i guess we cant really rip up the carpet.. we could ... but then there would be trouble hahaha

little miss started crawling backwards last week and turns onto her tummy every chance she gets then starts wingeing cause she cant reach her toys lol its sooo funny to watch
she also copys stuff we do and tries to imitate.
mum took her to church on sat and while everyone was singing a hymn all of a sudden savanna starting singing along with them. people could not believe it.
