Happy Birthday Meg and Kells Hubby Grahame.

Kell-My sister is 28, she was diagnosed with it when I was 20 so she would have been 22. She is one of the unlucky ones though and they found cancer. She has had her thyroid and most glands around it removed except for the calcium glands. The cancer keeps growing back there and she has to have blood tests to chk her cancer levels and radiation treatment at least once every 2yrs. So she cant have children now, but she is lucky as she has already had her children. Apparently she has a good cancer, it is not aggressive. Yes it can be hereditary, but I have had blood tests done and it shows no problems in me, so it looks like I dont have it. Hopefully you dont have it either. Apparently they are very reluctant to remove the last few glands, she has enough problems with all the meds she has to take now anyway. As awful as it sounds it is something that we have all become used to.

    Eithan slept awful again.

Ummm Annie- hope you are feeling better. Are there any other jobs you could apply for in BNE internally, like at an office, airport, call centre etc.?

Hope you are all well, I had heaps to say, but I have forgotton as I just had to rescue Eithan from himself (he did the splits and was stuck).

    Love

Maz - Don't be too envious of my fluffy mail... now I HAVE to sell some of my Baby Beehinds to make up for it. Where's the best place to sell 'em off... I know you can't on Ebay anymore.

Kellxx - Hope you don't stay sick too long. Rest as much as you can.

Shell - Oh how nice to have a break from dirty nappies and grizzling!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEG ... and Kell's DH GRAHAME!

Anna, try buyforbaby (.com.au), I think that's where much of the ebay trade went.

Lol at Eithan doing the splits Helen.

Happy Birthday Meg! What are you doing today? (And what are your plans for Grahame, Kell?)

Well I was going to type more but I'm suddenly hungry. Back later! xo

    Hello ladies!
I am sick as a dog. Like gnaw my own limbs off because they wont stop aching sick. I havent been able to keep much food down and every bone in my body is aching, esp my neck. Thankgod the weekend is only a stone's throw away so I can hand Jett to Ry and sleep, sleep, sleep! Speaking of sleep, I think J's getting this crud because he's been whingy all day and has been asleep since 12pm (and still hasnt stirred) Thats the last thing I fricken need. Its this place, below freezing cold weather does not treat me well cold & flu wise - this is the first time Ive been sick with anything since I was 18 and layed up for 2wks with a throat infection. I will not spend another winter here so if we arent moved by April next year I'll be leaving Ry behind and moving back to Sydney without him.

I hope everyone else is doing well and NOT sick with anything.

    Happy birthday Meg and Grahame!!!!

Be around more when I dont feel like the living dead.

Just a quick question. I've started giving Ash one bottle/ day which just last couple days she has started taken well. Today she took 140mls and it made me wonder what amount should I offer? She still having 3-4 BF/ day also.

That's about all Xander took when I first introduced the bottle Shell... within a week or so he started taking 200mL (which is the usual recommended amount). About the time he started taking the full 200ml he dropped the mid arvo breastfeed, and only had milk (either BF or FF) after each main meal (3 times a day). Congrats on finally getting Ash to take a bottle of any sort... which one did you end up having success with?

Belle- Hope this new medication does the trick and starts making you feel 100% better.

Anna**- Its funny cause we were using sippy cup but she wasn't taking much so I decided to try bottle again. I ended up with an old avent one that I had tried originally with her months ago. I stuck a knife in the teat to make the whole bigger and it worked. Its a relief to know that I can go off to work and not have to stress bout it.

AnnaT- Can Ryan take some time off work to help you out? I'm sure he'd be entilted to some sort of family leave.

kell- No he wasn't a star, they hardly showed anything unfortunately. How was your day for Graheme's birthday?

Speaking of birthday's I just realised Ash is 10 months today. i never pay attention to that, just noticed on my ticker.

This is going to be a real quick one as I'm tired and heading to bed.

    Happy Birthday Meg & Grahame.

belle - sorry I haven't called, we've had a few rough nights with Nina and I've been dead tired during the day. I hope the meds start working soon.

I've got a quick question, we're heading to Emerald tomorrow, and it's been getting down to 0 degrees during the night, what do I dress Nina in for that sort of weather?? The coldest we get here has been 7, but that only happened once, it'll usually be around 12 degrees.

shell - that's great to hear Ash is finally taking a bottle. Well done!!

Jodi - lots of layers - singlet, long sleeve spencer, baby grow, socks, sleeping bag (if youve' got one) then blankets on top - hopefully the house will have some good heating too.

Also, Just an idea for those mums who find they can't get a shower till bubs is down for the first nap of the day, what I do with Rylee is give her her breakfast and then give her some finger food to play with - banana, cheese, maybe - while she is eating/playing with this I wheel the high chair down to the shower and shower while she is still in it and happy eating, also put some toys on the tray too....just an idea, otherwise I wouldn't be having a shower till lunchtime - gives me 10 mins of freedom...

It is a great idea Laurin, but without me trying to be too negative, please be careful as leaving a bub to self feed can be a bit of a choking risk - it only takes a minute. Please don't think I'm being nasty... I just finished a first aid course so a bit paranoid at the moment!

Shell - That's great the Ash will take just a regular bottle now. Xander will now take anything too - to the point that I just bought a pack of 3 super cheap Happy Baby bottles from BigW (for less than $5) - they have a X cut teat so the flow is variable.

Jodi - I was also going to suggest lots of layers. If the back of her neck is warm, she's warm enough. Perth gets down to about 3 degrees this time of year... and I've noticed that, even without using heating during the night, the house doesn't drop below about 15 degrees. Enjoy your holiday.

    Belle - Big hugs matey.

Happy month birthdays' to Eithan and Ash... growing up way too fast!

    Hi all,

Just got Rylee down and it is 10.20 pm so a bit of 'me' time and then I will be catching some zzzzz's.

Anna, you are right about the choking, I have Rylee pretty right up by the shower within arms length, bathroom door open so it doesn't get steamy but it is something to be mindful of.

    No other news.......

That's what I thought you meant Laurin. Thanks for the reminder Anna, but yeah I dont leave Eithan self feed unless I am right there either.

I went to see Harry Potter last night. We left the kids with Leith's parents and they were both really good, so I am happy about that. I have seen a nappy bag I want. it's on clearance which is a big yah, but I wont have the money for another 2 weeks. I just hope it is still there.

Well Eithan is still up to his night tricks, but I am feeling alright today. No doubt the tiredness will hit me around 3pm though. I have forgotten already what was on the previous page, sorry.

Hope that you are all doing well. Anyone braving the target sale today?

Helen.. your poor sister.. and to get it so young. Im glad shes had her children. I feel so lucky just to have one even. I love the pic of Eithan in your ticker!

Nelle.. i made the man a caramel slice, he wanted that instead of a cake as its his favourite. And we just got pizza (which is a huge rare thing for us). I was so sick last night i went to bed early so said he'll have to use his "tokens" on the weekend. Probably next year on his 30th we'll have a party but yeh was just a quiet one last night.

HAPPY 10 MONTHS ASH!!! Big sloppy kisses from Jesse xxxxxxxx
Shell.. um not too sure what to do with the amounts of bottle to breast. When i switched we just went over completely not gradually.. but that was at 9 days old so completely different. Im guessing just give her as much as shes wanting. Looks like shes liking it which is good, makes it easier for you switching over. Ive generally just gone on him, how much he will drink and also the recommended amounts on the tin.

    Anna**.. thanks hun.

Jodi.. id jsut rug her up as much as you can. Least that way if its a bit warmer you can just peel the layers off. Take a few blankets too. Will there be any heating there?

Laurin.. thats a good idea! I started having showers of a night when Jesse was too big for his bouncer cos i couldnt keep an eye on him. But if your watching them from the shower everything should be ok?

Helen.. ill be doing the Target sale tomorrow. Need another day to recover from the flu. Am going with a friend from my mums group so we'll stampeed everyone. I hope they still have some stuff left. The big W near me was great when they had their sale, just kept restocking everything as they went.. so basically everyone could get what they wanted.

Thanks for all the get well wishes. Hope the cold and flu tablets nip it in the butt soon. Am having a complete lazy one today. Not doing anything. Just gonna lay on the couch and catch up on House and Medium from last night.

    Stay warm everyone.
