Noni - Thats a bargain! I have a change table, its the most used item in the nursery, apart from the cot! You will love it. Have a look for one of those change table caddy's that attach to the side and hold your wipes, cream etc. They are great too, but unfortunately I entered the room yesterday and mine had somehow crashed to the floor and broke, so I wrote a letter to the manufacturer (as its only 2 mths old) to see if they will replace it lol hope it works.

Jazmum - Oh no hope she is well before christmas!!!

Marydean - An overtired baby and shopping...oh I have so been there lol. Its horrible isnt it. I just managed to get my overtired bub off to sleep after half an hr of trying to relax her, my own fault, I saw the tired signs but let her go too long before I took her to bed.

Hayley - Chrissy day is going to be great fun at your house!

Question for the mummies with older children - do you do the whole leave milk and cookies out for santa and then mum/dad eats a bit to make it look like Santa came!? Hehe DP and I cant wait to do that sorta stuff!!!!

Well Santa is almost here yay! We shopped like mad yesterday and I think we are organised. Just need to have a pressie wrap-a-thon lol.

Yay - I have 5 minutes to post, sneaky sneaky... Have to do more shopping today :( It's sooo packed all the time & i get serious shopper rage! I wish they would close down the plaza just for me!
I have decided next year i am only buying box-shaped gifts because every other shape is a PIA to wrap, especially when i'm trying to fight the cat for the ribbon & she's picking up my gift tags & running around the house with them.

Noni ~ That bright stars thing sounds great! Gratz on the bargain change table - I use mine all the time, Scarlet loves laying on it for some reason.

Jazmum ~ I hope Jess is feeling better for chrissie! A whole hour LOL You guys beat us! we're lucky to last 5 minutes with a clean house.

Hayley ~ I'm doing the milk & cookie thing with the girls this year, Plus a carrot & a glass of water for rudolph. Every easter my sister puts giant muddy bunny footprints through the house, Her girls love it.

I feel so christmassy!

Well, I think my life is finally starting to slow down a little LOL. We had my family over last night as we normally do Christmas eve together, but this year they are heading to Melb to see my sister. The kids got spoilt as usual though. Lindsay got the Transformers DVD and a talking Optimus Prime mask that you wear and you can either talk in it and it changes your voice or it says phrases from the movie. Erin and Paige both got the Barbie island princess karaoke head thing, which would have to be one of the most annoying toys ever - especially when they get both of them going and they are out of sync with one another LOL. Alister got a leap frog 'Tiny tad' toy which sings and talks, but it freaks him out a little bit ATM, plus he got a fisherprice truck with a cow driving it and a pig and sheep on the back of it. They also got a see-saw too, which has already seen a few spills and knocks to the head happen.

So now I am just waiting for Christmas day. DH is back at work until the 27th so we have no other plans at all.

Alister is really getting mobile now. I put him on the floor and he is all over the floor now, just moving himself around by either rolling or laying on his side and pushing off with his feet. I have a patchwork mat that I put him on but he doesn't stay on it for long. He has also turned into an inqusitive feeder and likes to look around all the time now while he is feeding, which makes it hard when we are out in public and all he wants to do it look around. He is getting much more responsive with the older kids too. When he is in his rocker chair he makes loud noises to get their attention if they are near him and when they turn to him he gives them a big smile and they are loving that he is doing that now.

Hayley, we've done the 'santa's been here' thing before, but we don't worry about it now. Lindsay *knows* the santa secret ;) (I was his age when I clicked about santa too - and I had it comfimed the following year by busting mum and dad in the act) and the girls are too excited about the day in general to notice.

Jaz, that's a real bummer about the gastro, but I hope it is gone before Tuesday. Both times Lindsay has had it it's been different both times. Apparently there have even been kids get middle ear infections and tonsilitis with it too - imagine dealing with that on top of gastro? ugh.

LP, I love wrapping presents and making them look really nice, but I hear you on the odd shaped things LOL. This is going to be the most special Christmas for the big girls, they will be so excited.

Noni - well done on the change table, you will find it really useful. I was thinking about not getting one but am very glad we did. My back is sore enough as it is without having to clamber up from the floor after every nappy change as well!!

Sherie - wow, Alister is getting around. Still no signs of rolling from back onto tummy for Katie.

Hayley - we would always leave a beer and cookies out for Santa. And a bucket of water for the reindeer on the front porch. We always wrote letters to Santa on Christmas Eve and left them out and he would reply to us. That kept going even when we knew about Santa and the letters are actually really funny to read now - mum kept them all.

Had trouble getting DD off to sleep again last night. DH took over and I went to bed. Then she was up at 1 and 3, then 7:30. He did playtime with her then and I had another nap.

We are having housecleaning day today. Getting it all out of the way so we can have a relaxing day tomorrow before the big day on Tuesday. It's a bit of a disaster zone here at the moment.

back from a biiiiig day with lots of ppl for ash poor little darling is sooo over tired but she was so well behaved.. i dnt usually put her in her cot until her night sleep at 9ish but my cousin and her bf are over (the party goes on hehe) they live in darwin and we dnt see them much so its really nice to have them over a bit while they are down!!! ive blocked out all the light in there and i read her story and gave her her bunny turned on the music etc etc and shes had a few grizzles but i know once she finally drops off she will have a better sleep in there tired little poppet..

another tired family here too! Had two parties to go to, the girls got very spoiled!!! Jess is better today, so thankfully it was just over indulgence on her part.

we are off to another family doo this afternoon lol hope ash will be ok shes still quite tired from yesterday!!
yesterday we got home and she slept then woke up and slept in her bouncer lol then went back to bed at 9 fed at 10 and didnt feed again till 8am wooohoooo lol 10 hours!!! then she went back to sleep till 11 fed at 12 and is now snoozing in her bouncer lol tired little thing!!! shes fine though still lots of happy smiles when she is awake and eating well just very tired haha...
jazmum - good to hear it was just over indulgance would be awful for her to be sick over christmas!!

Happy christmas Eve! Ooh Santa will be departing soon to deliver all his pressies to children all over the world! (lol sorry couldnt help myself!) I love christmas and cant wait till Maddie is old enough to understand it.

Seems like everyone is flat out with christmas do's. Its lots of fun but very tiring isnt it. We didnt get home from one till 12 last night and by the time we got off to bed it was 1. Poor DP is buggered and at work. Not to mention Maddie slept like a log, had a quick feed and is back to bed. I also think its the hot weather. We are going to another later this arvo, and they have a pool. I've got Maddie's rashie suit and suncream ready to go. I've already done the suncream patch test on her foot just to make sure! Then a full on chrissy day as well! I'm sure you are all much the same.

Sherie - Your lucky kids have been spoilt! :) Do they sleep well on chrissy eve or do they wake early? Alister is doing very well by the sounds of it.

Noni - Asha is a good girl, well done. Seems your bedtime routine is working really well good on you.

Cally - I hear you on the house cleaning, ive been doing it all day. Still in my PJ's whoops.

Hayley - Christmas will be exta special for you this year, with Scarlets first christmas, and then you have the girls as well, bet they are excited!

Jazmum - Must be the same with your girls, wow cant wait till Maddie is older (but at the same time dont want to wish this time away iykwim)

Olivia slept all night again for the 3 night in a row and mummy is very pleased. We were all up at 5.30am to see what santa had left under the tree. What a wonderful joy it is to see their little smiling faces unrapping the pressies. (I was up to 11pm still wrapping them) any way have a wonderful day to all and I will catch up with you all soon.

Merry christmas everyone! Wow what a busy day. We are all exhausted, Maddie is bombed out in the cot. Its so flipping hot in Perth, we spent all day in the spa eating and drinking, absolute bliss. Madeline has been spoilt rotten as usual. She got a jolly jumper with the musical mat which I am happy to say she loves, teddy bears, a golly wog!!! (brings back my childhood memories), clothes, tummy time mirror, books, a couple of dingly dangly toys, rattles, bunnykins set, FP rainforest soother and baby bandz sunglasses which are so funky, she looks like a cool kid lol. We had an excellent christmas, hope you all had (or are having) a great day with your families and new bubs.

Marydean, Santa brought a trampoline here as well! I just had a quick go - and i can't believe i can still do a 'sit down on your butt and land on your feet' jump!!! (the girls were quite impressed) then dh got on and did about 6 different tricks in a row - show off LOL!!
Han was soo good yesterday. She slept in our arms for most of the day, but was as happy as larry.:)
I'm worried she might have thrush in her mouth. Her tongue is covered in white stuff, which doesn't seem to come off. i googled it this morning, and the info i found was that the tongue and roof of the mouth is usually red and inflamed with little white spots, but Hannah's isn't inflamed. Not sure whether i can just go to the chemist and let them have a look (i think my gp is on holidays) what do you ladies think? i know some of you dealt with this earlier on.

jazmum - Ashas never had thrush but from how ive heard it described it sounds like h might have it with the white that wont wipe off.. id go to the chemist because i remember other ladies talking about a gel or something from the chemist that clears it right up gl.. ikwym anout finding room for presents asha has been sooooo spoilt its not funny..

Hi noni - thanks - i went to the chemist today, and the pharmacist told me that it is thrush. He's given me some drops for her to take. Poor little thing was really unsettled this afternoon - couldn't get enough of her fist in her mouth - and her dummy wasn't cutting it.
i'm trying to cull some of the toys in our cupboards and draws - really crappy little things like happy meal toys and other little bit of junk. I'm sure i'll fill the wheelie bin!!!

is anyone else super paranoid about getting preg again??
after getting back on the dtd train choo choo lol a few days ago ive been thinking and then especially when we did tonight and its boxing day and asha was concieved i think the day after boxing day haha i mean we use protection but its scaring me haha.. calm blue oceans calm blue oceans lol

wow i can just imagine how much stuff u have for the girls since they have had 4 and 5 years to accumulate it i cant believe how much Asha has and its only been three months (three mths exactly today tear lol)

Noni, haha calm blue oceans just use your protection properly and you shouldn't have any exciting little surprises! I spared a thought for it too since E was conceived somewhere between 25th and 28th Dec in a champagne haze and I've not drunk champagne since then until yesterday. Glad to hear you're back on the train choo choo, although ours doesn't pull into the station very often LOL.

Jazmum, glad you got the thrush advice you needed, the drops taste yucky but apparently they work pretty quickly. Don't forget to keep the girls aired out you don't want it getting into your nipples!

Well, that's christmas for another year *sigh of relief*. Well DH did magnificently on the prezzie front this year, probably on account of how CRANKY I have been with him all month he tried extra hard. Gorgeous john william waterhouse print I've wanted for years, framed for our bedroom & a lovely pendant and matching earrings (ruby zoisite for any of you gemstone buffs). E handled the whole day pretty well but gee she was tired at the end of it! She was actually pretty interested in the whole wrapping paper part, she's very visually-driven and she loves looking at patterns. Got some nice photos of my girls together in their glad rags which was nice too.

Well today we are going on a train trip too the city. The boys are excited as they have not been on a train before. OMG I think we need a bigger house for all these toys. lol. DH said he will be chucking all the old ones to make way for the new ones. I really enjoyed christmas and have vowed to be a bit more organised next year on the pressie front. (Dont really want to leave everything to the last minute)
Olivia enjoyed herself too. Well I better go and start getting ready.

WEehad a lovely Christmas here - DD was very well behaved, fell asleep during church without any crying, then managed a 2.5 hour nap at PIL in a travel cot she'd never been in before!! She got lots of pressies, although some I have had to pack away as they're not suitable until she is a bit older (eg plate set, bath toys). DH gave me diamond earrings, so very happy with that!!

Yesterday was good, very relaxing. Went for a nice walk in the evening, needed to after all the chocolate we had eaten all day.

Leanne - train trip sounds fun, I'm sure the boys will have a ball.

Jazmum - hope the thrush clears up quickly.

Noni - I'm not too paranoid about getting pregnant again. I figure it took us 3 months last time, also with breastfeeding my fertility is lower anyway (but we're still using protection!). DD was conceived a year ago yesterday, gosh time flies!

K got some soft blocks from Santa, she's worked out that if she uses both hands and pushes them together she can shake it and make the bell rattle, then she can suck on it!! She actually has little sores on two fingers from so much sucking.

Have a cake in the oven I've been meaning to make for 2 weeks! It's great having DH home, I think he has a much better understanding of how full on looking after a baby is!

LOL Leanne I say that every year! Got the pressies sorted ok this year, but I was in a flap over groceries etc instead...dunno why, probably PIL stress! How exciting with the train ride - did the boys get any Thomas gear for Christmas?

Cally, clever Katie behaving so beautifully! Our church service was a huge outdoors thing for the kids so not too much baby stress there (which was good). Glad your DH is getting a window on your baby-filled life! Do you think it will result in a change in his work habits?

MD - No, he'll probably still be a workaholic, but he was really good last term at coming home at a particular time. Before K I never knew when he would be home (he'd say I won't be late and I would think 4:30, he'd be thinking 6 which caused some issues), but last term he left work at 5:30 every day except 1. Anway a month until he is back at work and I am taking full advantage of having him here!!

hi all just got back from the sales madness!!!
with all the chrissi decos being half price i got some nice ones for next year spent about $30 but got double that amounts worth so we are just about set for next year :)
also bough asha a cute swim suit from pumpkin patch which had $10 off its 6-12mths but it will go on her now just the arms and legs will be long intead of short and it will be a bit baggy but atleast it will last a while even if it is huge now lol considering shes in 0-3mths in pp clothes lol thats all they had though and it was a good price so i got it lol. she also got a cute little pink cap with beading and stitching down the front and two new sleeping bags from myer for $37 instead of one being 30 and the other 20 hehe i feel very accomplished!!
ashas been sleeping so well.. think its just the exhaustion of christmas though but i am glad shes sleeping well because obviously we are really tired too so it helps alot!
cally - it must be great having dh home for so long!!! ive had dp for about a week but weve been so busy i dnt feel like weve really spent that much time together he thinks he will prob have the week off after this one shift though so fingers crossed!! glad k was so well behaved i must say asha was a little gem too shes also got some little blocks that she can grab onto.. are they the ones where one vibrates and two have a little bell inside thats what ash got...

Noni - We've just started dtd again too, was very scary at first I thought it would hurt, but it didnt at all. DP kept joking that it would be like rolling a bowling ball down the alley lol and it was a bit like that. Dont know exactly when Maddie was conceived, but it was obviously around this time. Who knows we had so many drunken nights lol. I am paranoid about getting pregnant again too, DP doesnt like condoms and I'm not using any contraception (i know i know but the pill scares me). I make him wear condoms but he wont go on like this for much longer!! Well done on your shopping bargains.

Marydean - We got some nice pics on christmas day as well. Maddie was all dressed up in a pretty little dress. She didnt stay that way for long though, it was so hot so I stripped her off and just put her in something simple and cool.

My little bub is a bit sick atm. I think she is having tummy troubles. For the past three days now she has had a bit of diorrhea. Apart from that she seems fine and is still quite happy. Just wondering should I be taking her to the doctor or should she be fine? MIL said wait and see how she goes, if she vomits then take her.

Maddie got a jolly jumper for christmas. She loves it! She laughs herself silly in it! :)

WOW my little princess is 3 months old today!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!

Hayley, congrats on the three month milestone, it's exciting isn't it?! Re the diarrhoea, is it frequent or just runny? I know it's common for Bfed babies to have really runny poo but not sure about bottlefed bubs. I always see the doc if I'm worried, even if I think there's a chance it could be nothing, better to be on the safe side. But if I'm not worried (on the inner mummy radar, KWIM) we dont. HTH.

Poor Jazmum - hope you're feeling better soon, sounds rotten! That fairy has been taking advantage of everyone's Christmas hospitality I think.

Cally- Yipppeee on having DH home for the holidays. My DH is home too and its wonderful.

Well the train trip did not happen. We went to the train station to go for a ride to the airport but they wanted $52 dollars return so I said pardon and then said that was a joke considering we were not that far anyway. It was neally 3pm anyway so we ended up coming home and going to go to the big pineapple tomorrow weather permitting.

Oh well I better go as Olivia is due for a feed.

haley - we are using condoms too coz neither i or dp like the idea of the pill or any of those condoms arent actually as bad as i remembered/thought... i was quite nervous too but it was actually pretty good lol tmi and pretty quick i must add on both our parts haha is that a parents thing or are we just pathetic???

Noni - Yes its quick for us now days too lol. No or very minimal foreplay thats for sure!!! And its shhhh keep it down you will wake Maddie. Isnt it sad!? :redface:

Morning Everyone :)

I have to say Chrissy was fantastic but so exhausting that i'm very glad it's all over until next year!!! My house is still full of christmas crap, I'm finding endless amounts of scrunched up wrapping paper *lol* Scarlet was sooo over tired by the afternoon, she was sooky & unsettled it took me ages to get her to go to sleep even though she was completely stuffed, She finally fell asleep at 4:30pm & didn't wake up until 9am on boxing day... She's still very tired from it all, maybe she'll be a bit better today.

Everyone got spoilt here!!! Scarlet got lots of stuff that's not age appropriate yet but will def come in handy in the coming months, The girls have presents all over the floor in the bedroom that i haven't even had time to have a look at yet, I got a nifty espresso machine, a really pretty bracelet & a massive basket of all my fave girly items from DF & bunches of other little things from everyone else.

The jumping castle was a big hit, especially when all the kiddies went to bed & us adults had a turn, full of christmas cheer ;) lol

The fairy has also visited us, I've been really sick & DH has had a little bit of a bug too - The girls didn't get it though so PHEW!

Having DF home from work has him realising what my day is like too & he's trying to be as helpful as possible but with us being sick the last few days the girls have been fantastic! I woke up yesterday morning & Jamie (11) already had Scarlet out of her cot, fed, changed & happily playing - She turned off the moniter so i could sleep a bit longer... I think they miss thier baby sister heaps, She's still in NSW.

i'm feeling alot better today - just feeling very weak and dizzy. Hannah has been incredibly unsettled, not sleeping very well at all. Hope she's not going to get sick. I realised today that i have only been giving her 0.1ml of her medicine for the Thrush instead of 1.0mls. How stupid do i feel!!!!
taking down the christmas tree today - dh can't wait to get rid of the clutter lol.

Happy christmas everyone!! Glad everyone had such good days. Buying kiddie toys is SO much fun, isn't it!

Ours was pretty darn full-on (it was at our house this year) with my family & the ILs. Lots of brilliant food (my family did all the cooking) and lovely setting in the garden. Missy was spoilt rotten - lots of soft toys and some more developmental ones too thankfully! We had to open them though as she was asleep because ILs couldn't wait for her to wake up. Grr. They've just left to go back o'seas and I am waiting to hear whether or not I've been awarded a fr!ckin' Victoria Cross. It was a great visit - FIL was great and really enjoyed seeing his first grandchild - but my god all 3 of us are exhausted. I think the most exhausting thing is constantly being organised by someone else & second-guessed... having Missy rocked to sleep when she really needed up-time so she screamed when being put to bed, hearing what "dreadful pain" she's in with "wind", being told just as you're trying to get hold of her to feed her that she's dreadfully hungry and needs to be fed... all the sorts of things an anxious mother needs to hear, really. VENT OVER. Thanks, feel better now!

I did have an awesome dream the night before Christmas Eve that we BB girls all got together and had a fantastic lunch party! sigh. Wish we weren't all so far away!

Queenie, it is so frustrating when everyone else knows what is best for your bub isn't it. When my IL's were here W was screaming and DH handed him to MIL when I was standing there with my arms out for him - MIL said he was so upset he would cry for anyone, I got him straight off her and settled him - he just wanted his mum after being handed around so many people.
How is she doing? Amazing how fast they grow isn't it.

Leemar, that sounds like a lot for the train tickets. Did you enjoy the pineapple? We took my granddad there when he came over to visit but we didn't realise you can go inside.

LP, good to hear you survived your big family christmas. It was nice of J to let you have a sleep in.

Noni, I am also scared of getting preg again. Not that we do it very often, but every time I have a little voice in my head whispering 'irish twins, two under 1...". We aren't being very careful, but I guess we should because I need to lose at least 10kg to lessen my chances of getting GD again.

I haven't been posting much because Christmas was a bit depressing this year. We have no family here and we had been hoping to move back to NZ before Christmas but it didn't happen. So it was just DH, W and I sitting at home. We didn't bother with presents so it was a rather average day. I did cook a roast dinner but we both just ended up grouchy because we weren't where we wanted to be.

Will seems to be getting teeth - there is a white spikey lump coming out of his gum, but it isn't the front middle that I thought they got first, it is to the side. He has been chewing his little hand like mad on that side and keeps pulling off the boob and crying even though he is hungry.

queenie wow that sounds like a nice party wish it wasnt a dream!!! we had the same thing with dps family holding her while she was crying she really just wanted one of us but they kept saying ohhh uve got wind well just get rid of it then grrrr it really gets to me everytime she cries it must be a tummy ache and have nothing to do with the fact that she might want her parents...

JaZmum, I am sure christmas at your house would be fun - your big girls are a cool age for christmas.
We were waiting until DH had a job lined up before we shifted back but we got sick of waiting and have decided just to go and sort out a job once we get there. I have booked plane tickets and have the house on the market, hopefully it will sell in time (managed to talk the advertising fee down from $1800 to $750 with a baby hanging off my boob!).

Noni - I might try the cold face cloth. I have been using Bonjela but he sticks his tongue in the way when I am trying to put it on so I am not sure how much actually makes it onto his gums. Is Asha spending much time in her jumperoo? W loves his. He sits/stands in my lap looking over and talking to it until I put him in.
