back from my step class!! feel like i might die in my sleep lol gosh for someone who does no excersise well except for walking to go to a 1hr intensive workout class is really hard lol but good fun... before i went i was like yeah maybe i will go to two diff classes a week and this week i will go tonight and wednesday because i have a free 3 day pass lol pretty delusional there!! once a week is deffinately enough no need to push myself too far lol gotta be a bit careful with the gym i have been known to get carried away which is part pf the reason i am doing an actual planned and structured class!! my gosh if i dnt have a good loss @ ww this week i will cry lol... lucky i had a good dinner before i went i was just gonna have vege lasagne that i made but i ended up having that tuna salad as well lol and i still feel like i will collapse oh well rambling on as usual!!
cally- lol Ashas two favourite toys are her bunny inventively named bunny and her small plush of tigger which we call tiggy lol imaginative souls we are dp wanted to call the bunny Mohommed or Humouddy when that teacher was jailed after the incident of letting class members name the soft toy mohommed which was sacrilidge in their faith so it ended up bunny lol..
jordie - Asha is no where near rolling though sometimes when she tries to crawl she tips hallf to the side iykwim but then she gets the $hits and wants to get off the floor lol. shes just started solids recently though she went without tonight, just not showing her usual 5pm hunger and wrigglyness so we gave it a miss, and no rasberries but still lots of dribble and some lumpy things that look like teeth coming in..
lp - lucky you found out now and not tmw when you and the girls rocked up for school all dressed and ready to go!!!! i wish you could come to the step class too its hard when its the first few times and u dnt know anyone and feel really unco lol...
fianne - i agree with the other girls your supply will increase as her demand does increase and if she was hungry surely shed be screaming? dnt feel like your starving her shell get what she needs from you, you should be proud of yourself for going down the breastfeeding road we didnt quite make it and i am very envious of those who do!!
jazmum - i want a trampoline!! sounds like you had a nice walk :) i sometimes do sit ups in bed at night well i did when dp was on night shift anyway lol i am sure thats really nad for my back but oh well..
-
Welcome Jordie ~ Scarlet is also blowing heaps of raspberries, She alternates between those & squealing her head off, She has been blowing bubbles like crazy lately too.
She has a little corner of a tooth poking through but we are yet to have any teething problems, She rolls from back to front & back again every now & then but has little spats where she stops doing it all together.
Cally, We have named some toys - We have rascal the bunny (because he has rascal written on his foot, Inventive huh! lol) Lolly the teddy bear & woof the puppy dog who also like to have conversations LOL!
Good point MD, We can pratice glad-unwrapping tomorrow :( I feel like such a dork! The girls are okay with it though, we are going to go to Australia Zoo since we have some more holidays left! lol.
Hi again Bilby, Sounds like you had a nice break - Don't feel bad, We all need one sometimes!
Are you with bigpond Agnes? Ours has been stuffing up really bad, I lost a monster post earlier.
-
Thanks girls for being so welcoming! It's nice to talk to people who's kiddies are doing similar things!
Cally: Haven't named bears or toys (too many to remember!) but she doesn't really play with those ones yet. I guess I call them "beary", "lamby" etc. not very original LOL! My aunt used to name her daughter's toys after who gave them to her. Nice idea but can't remember exactly who gave what!
Bilby1 - I feel like I understand! DD sleeps well most of the time but just when you think you have some sort of a routine or pattern she does something different! Oh well- just go with the flow!
Raspberries - dribbling - BRING ON THE BIBS!!! Hee hee
-
Was just thinking 'I wonder how noni went at the gym' & there you popped up! lol.
I love that tired feeling of being physically exhausted... Too bad i'm so lazy!
Glad you had a good time, You may have even semi motivated me to get back to the gym.. Maybe! Haha
-
BTW - Love the name Scarlet!
-
Thanks Jordie :) Mackenzie is gorgeous! How did the birth go?
Wow, I just realised now we have 4 bubs born on the 13th (or is it 5?)
-
Long story short - pretty well - epidurals are the best!!!! 13 hrs from waters breaking to birth with about 4 hrs of horrible, agonising, terrible et.c et.c pain!! the rest I coped with! How about you? 13 is popular! She was due on 14th but came early.
-
Hi Jordy and welcome! Glad you decided to join in with us :)
Alister is going through bibs like there is no tomorrow with all the dribbling he's been doing lately. Luckily I found some amongst Lindsays baby things with the plastic backing on them so his clothes don't get as wet as they normally do. He tried to blow raspberries, but all it does is make more dribble come out LOL.
Noni, well done on the class - will you make it a regular thing now you've tried it?
LP, my mum did that once. She was pleased as punch that she actually got me ready for school on time (she was hopeless LOL - I wasn't at school on time very often in my younger years) and then when we got there there was no one else there.
Fianne, You aren't starving her, she would let you know if she was hungry. You are doing a great job with the BF hun.
Hi Agnes!
Marydean, I think I have a plan for next weekend. How was Miss E last night for you?
Hi Rach! How thoughtful of your DH to give you a break. I hope she starts having some better nights for you.
Hi Pregpan!
We have some names for the toys the kids have. They all have a special teddy that we gave them as babies and we have a Sleeping Ted, Ballerina Bunny, Lamby and Mr Monkey.
We have decided that we are going to stop getting Alister vaccinated or at least not continue with the Rotavirus vaccine. I feel that the risk of him actually catching rotavirus is smaller than the risk of him having another adverse affect from it. I still haven't made the appointment for them though, but will discuss it further with our GP.
ETA *snap* Jordy. Alister was due on the 14th too but came on the 18th instead.
-
LOL Sherie, I'm so glad i didn't do it too... How embarrassing for them.
I was just reading the immunisation thread & I feel strange about immunising now... I think i'm going to do some research, Or maybe i shouldn't... I reckon you've made the right decision, Can't have him getting side effects from it.
Jordie, Scarlet was due on the 27th but I had a C-section because she was breech (geographically challenged like her mum who gets lost in the shopping centre, hehe) so mine was all over in about 15 minutes :)
Wow, I better get to bed!
-
Sherie - I have PMed you again :). E much better last night, it was still late but I have FINALLY convinced DH to keep her in her cradle and pat from there - works a charm but he didn't believe me for ages.
I'm curious as to what the GP will say re the rotavirus vacc. I don't think it's a very high priority at all, not a dangerous disease so to speak. More of a public health nuisance (and that's why they did the vacc IMO - save the medicare system money LOL).
-
everyone, thanks for being encouraging and all the advice. it's been a very difficult day in that i'm trying to wean off formula and very insecure on the signs. she takes the boobs everytime i give it to her but then, she falls asleep. the hungry/tired cycle dilemma. bought fenugreek yesterday hoping to boost supply. lady at health food store also suggested blessed thistle for the flow but i was feeding max so dp was the one to buy the fenugreek and didn't get the thistle.
cally, today's feeds were way off norm. can't even remember how often she was on the breast (it was that often!!!). but generally, with the topping up, every 2-4 hours. but when i say, with the topping up, i only gave her top up, maybe, every other feed...definitely not every feed. but it's been bothering me to try to figure out whether or not she needed a top up after a feed which is why i wanted to go purely breastfeeding.
a couple of weeks ago, i went to exercise class and gave her the bbs after the class to fill her up before we went home. i didn't give her the formula after coz' she looked content. on the drive home, she was screaming her heart out coz' she was hungry. it was so difficult to drive with a screaming baby and a guilty conscience in the car with you.
as for formula in perth, she was ok with s26 and heinz. so used them instead.
this is going to be my last attempt and if it doesn't work, then i think i will go full on formula.
ozstar, are you still topping up as well?
now, on to less selfish stuff....
welcome jordie and bilby1! you won't regret joining this thread. have got so much useful advice from people here that i can't stop talking about bb to other people. :)
toy naming, yes, we're a little formal here too. mr woodles (label said 'woodles') and mr googly eyes (a bug-gy looking thing), etc.....not all have been named though.
mother's group, missed one at southbank beach last week. hoping to make the swimming then lunch one this week. not holding my breath though. car a/c is on the blink and her royal highness screams when she's hot and i can't bear it so i don't take her in the car.
ditto on the half rolls. after the first full roll she did last week, i have yet to see another.
no toe sucking happening here yet. she has started noticing them though. and she sucks everything else. her wrap, quilt she's lying on (w/c i'm using as her playmat), her clothes (she pulls them up if they're loose enough), toys...
noni, good on you for going to the gym.
lp, would've been funny (from an outsiders point of view) if the girls went to school and it was closed.
oh, had a good night last night...she went to sleep at 8, grizzled at 9:30 for feed, didn't wake up again until 4:45 for another feed!!! am hoping that it'll be the same tonight but not holding my breath for this.
sorry for all the missed personals.
-
md, what are you still doing on? thought you were supposed to be working. :) hard to resist bb eh?
-
Looks like its been another busy day in here for you lot! (while I slaved away at my desk hehehe just kidding)
Gosh i knew I was being a paranoid mummy about the mattress cover!
Sherie - The whole vaccination thing is a tricky one. I watched an Oprah episode once and they were suggesting that vaccinations can cause all sorts of horrible side affects ie Autism. I've decided to vaccinate with Maddie, I hope I am doing the right thing.
Jordie - Welcome! Yes I wont be forgetting the pain of child birth for quite some time. To top it off Maddie was a posterior bub and my god the pain was unbelieveable!!! I knew child birth was going to be painful, but I never thought it would be that bad lol. Mackenzie is such a beautiful name!
Noni - Good on you for hitting the gym. Makes you feel so much better doesnt it. I did combat on Sunday, I'm sore today, but I need to get back into some serious exercise if I want to lose my baby belly!
Bilby - What a lovely hubby you have, I would have been needing a break too! I'm a person who really needs 8 hrs plus sleep haha I walk around like a zombie these days. Wow rolling already, clever girl.
Marydean - You crack me up with your funny comments! Are you back at work too?
Hayley - Oh no that is so funny! Lucky you didnt turn up at school tomorrow that would have been a tad embarrassing! How are things going with the girls anyway? Are they excited about school? The baby squealing is so cute isnt it.
Cally - Have fun at mums group tomorrow.
I got an invite today to a pash party, which is apparently all about sex toys and sexy outfits haha this should be a laugh!
-
Immunisations - I won't say much as each to their own I guess... however given my previous job sure there are adverse reactions but the risk of catching the various diseases is higher and if you saw what can happen to the little cherubs if they catch them - it aint pretty.
What I will say is when searching on the internet for information/ "facts" about vaccination, be careful which ones you base your decisions off.
Even rotavirus is pretty horrid. It is a gastro and the NT had an outbreak of it a few years back (we were one of the 1st to have the vaccination) and is a pretty full-on gastro for anyone, let alone young bubs.
So I understand that when your bub has a reaction to a vaccine that it can be pretty scarey and concerning, but please think carefully about what could happen if they actually got the disease in comparison before you make that decision.
It also often means that when they get to kinder/school age that if there is an outbreak that they will get sent home until it dies down...
Please don't think I am having a go at anyone's decisions, just trying to provide some more info as I have seen both sides of the story.
-
hi jordie - welcome :) Hannah isn't blowing raspberries but likes to suck anything she can reach. when she is in her swing, she sits forward and has a good old suck of her toes! She's a little miss roly poly and loves to giggle if anyone sneezes. (it's so cute)
cally - Hannah goes to sleep with a little mouse ( i take it out of the cot when she is asleep) which is called Felicity, but which i just call ' mousie'. the only other thing which has a name is her dummy, which we refer to as 'nim-num'.
noni - glad you enjoyed yourself at the step class.
hi sherie :)
lp - Australia Zoo sounds like fun. We took Jess and Zoe there a couple of years ago, and we all had a great time. The highlight was feeding the elephants, and seeing Steve riding a motorbike with Bob in front. ( he wasn't 'working' as such - but on his way to the elephant enclosure - apparently he took Bob there in the afternoons after he got an ice-cream)
hayley - how was Maddie's day at Day care today? Pash party hey!! sounds very interesting.
bilby - it makes it so much easier to cope after a rough night - when they are smiling and happy doesn't it.
fianne - that was a good nights sleep. I hope Max has another good night for you tonight.
-
sounds like they're doing similar things! Mackenzie isn't sucking toes but has def started notincing she has feet! so funny to watch!
re: immunisations - I thought it was quite simple really but after reading a few threads I'm not so sure hmmm will have to think more about that one!
Drool - don't you love it! MAckenzie will suck anything too - love watching her pull up her pretty dresses just so she can put them in her mouth! oh well - she'll be more private as she grows older!!!
Taking Mackenzie on her first camping trip on wed! Quite exciting but also worried that it will be too hot or we won't have everything! I find it hard to bushbash though there will be toilets and showers and we're in a camper so not too bad! Hope she doesn't wake all the other campers up though!
-
Hey Jaz! you would have done well to see Steve at the Zoo - he wasn't there a lot because of his O/S and filming obligations at times. Aaaaw, Hannah sounds so cute - I can just picture her giggling at sneezes.
Rach, that's fair enough, but I will probably still keep the others and not the RV. It really knocked him around. I also never got my older kids done for all the 'extra' ones they could get too (meningococcal and phnuemococcal). Our lifestyle (very small country town and no use of daycare/childminding etc) doesn't put us in high risk situations. I know that may seem like a naive thing to say, but that vaccine (RV) wasn't around when my other kids were babies and they have got along just fine without it. Its something I have given carefull consideration to (without using google either ;) ). he only gets it by virtue of his birth anyway - if he had been born at the start of last year he wouldn't have gotten it as routine.
-
woah was busy in here last night.
MD LMAO at your soft cooked dough bum. How did you go getting your work done?
Hi Jordie, Mackenzie is such a gorgeous name. Logan is doing the raspberries but no signs of rolling.
Cally we havent named any toys, your names are very cute though.
Rach glad you got to catch up on some sleep. My DH got up on Saturday morning so I could sleep on for a little while. I wish we had a pool, we all sat in Logans little blow up pool last weekend, the neighbours must have thought it looked extremly funny.
Hi Agnes, dont you hate when you loose a post.
Noni yay on the class, I love the feeling you get after a work out.
LP I had to laugh at your school mix up. Australia zoo sounds like fun, cant wait till Logan is old enough to enjoy that sort of thing.
Sherie you will have to let us know what the Dr says when you talk to him about the vaccinations. Do they have the Rotavirus one everytime?
Fianne we are still topping up but the bottles are getting smaller and smaller, I gave expressing after and between feeds it was to exhausting. I had a look at the fenugreek I couldnt find blessed thistle but found milk thistle is it the same thing? I think I am going to try them too.
Hayley I had a pash party for my hens night....absolutley hilarious and lots of fun. I say have some drinks first as some of the games are a little embarassing.
Hi Jazmum Logan laughs when anyone sneezes too.
We had a great night here last night (the night before wasnt to bad either). Logan went to bed at 6.30 woke at 3.30 for a feed and then rather then waking at 5-5.30 he woke at 7am. I am feeling great this morning. I take him for a walk at 5pm every day before his bath and feed, he has been going to bed so much easier. Have a great day everyone
-
good morning everyone :)
katie - great that Logan is sleeping well for you. Hannah woke at 2 and then again at 4:30 and was up at 7. She seems to have pains in her tum, which isn't suprising since she only poos once a week!!
I'm going to stop giving her the rice cereal for a while. I really don't think she needs it just yet. I've been giving it to her about an hour after she feeds, but by that time she is usually ready for another sleep. She has been puking most of it back up too. I'm hoping that my eating healthily will help to settle her wind too.
-
Fianne - I'm brilliant at multitasking! LOL Sounds like you're doing really well with the feeding, I'm sure M's not missing out. Barb had some great suggestions in your other thread.
Had a better nights sleep last night but feel like a complete zombie this morning - why is that? I'm nearly even a cranky mummy today - might need to organise an arvy nap. Well I'm in good company cos E is tired and cranky today too - after a good nights sleep...??? Doesn't make sense really
Rach, do you work as a nurse/medico? btw I agree with you on the necessity of vaccinations, I was just trying to say that out of all of them, the rotavirus is probably the least of a priority IMO. Gastro's always pretty awful in the NT cos most ppl are already halfway dehydrated to start with from the heat. Plus it seems to go around an awful lot more (or maybe just poor food-handling practices...)
Hayley, no not back at work but working on a little research/writing project. Not enjoying the deadline aspect! Pash party sounds like it will be hilarious...you'll have to tell us what you buy!!!
Jordie that sounds like pretty civilised camping to me (the only sort of camping I will do LOL) - does your camper have aircon?
Poo Hannah Poo! LOL When E didn't go for a week she seemed to have a lot more wind pain too.
-
Speaking of poos, As we quite often do now! lol - Pumpkin is another food that comes out the same as it went in... I gave S a taste yesterday & then took her nappy off so she could kick around... erm, Not recommended - We had pumpkin poo everywhere! Noice!
MD ~ I always feel like a zombie if i have a sleep in now, Even an extra hour... It's very strange.
Glad you had a nice sleep Katie, I hope your routine sticks for a while :)
-
o0o - Anyone who wants to try out little swimmer nappies before you buy, i went to get some from woolies but i couldn't find the girl ones (Duh, They are unisex) so i went on the huggies site to see if they had girls ones & found they have an offer for a freebie one :) I ordered it on Friday & got it today, Love it when you can try stuff for free.. lol
-
Wow, so busy in here!
Cally, we have donkey, puppy-dog and bear (guess what they are lol) and rattlebug (a bug that rattles) and Brendon (an octopus)
JordieC, I am eagerly waiting for raspberries but they aren't happening yet. He can roll from back to front but doesn't do it very often, loves to grab his feet and just started sitting on Saturday. Good luck with the camping, we are planning to do a lot more outdoorsy stuff when we shift back to NZ.
Fianne, hope the BF is working out for you
Sherie, I wondered how useful the rotovirus vaccine is myself. W has had the first two, but it isn't on the schedule for NZ vaccinations so he won't be getting any more of it.
LP, lol about the school mix up
Haley, I do remember something a couple of years ago when they decided the mattresses caused SIDS but most baby ones are approved by the SIDS foundations now anyway.
Ozstar, yay for the good nights. The weather has been a lot better for walking lately, the rain seems to be gone for now.
We have had 6 crap nights in a row and I am very tired. He is waking every 1-2 hours, I put him back in the cot the first couple of times but after that he ends up in bed with me but he still wakes me for more food. Are they due for another growth spurt around this age? He didn't poo for two days which usually happens when he is growth spurting. I hope so, I could really do with some sleep. Now he is probably going to sleep through tonight and I will wake at 4am with exploding boobs.
I dropped DH at the airport this morning for his trip to NZ to see his new plant/sign contract/find somewhere for us to live. Now I am at home alone until Thursday. I have downloaded a couple of movies to watch - Juno and Across the Universe. Hopefully they will be good.
Do the Brisbane ladies want to try for a meet up sometime in the next couple of weeks? Let me know what days you can or can't do if you are interested and I will organise something.
-
I'm up for coming to Brisbane in a couple of weeks Art, I have been thinking of taking Scarlet on a train ride to brissy for some shopping but i haven't been motivated to do it yet - I am going to buy a small stroller (thanks for the idea noni!) so we can use public transport easier while i don't have my car.
ETA: I can't do Mondays or weekends but any other school days should be fine :)
-
Hi Girls,
Wow it so busy here I can hardly keep up.
Art- Would love to meet up. I can do weekends and some mondays.
Toys- We have molly the dolly . Yes I know its very orginal- hehehehehehe.
Hi to Rach and Jordie and welcome.
Oh know I have forgotten what I was going to type next.
Olivia slept last night from 9.30pm to 6am this morning without even stiring. However both the boys were restless last night and ended up having them both in bed with us from about 1am.. Poor Olivia I wont even let her sniff my bed for fear she will want in all the time.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day...
-
wow busy busy!!!!
thanks for all the comments on the gym, i am sure feeling it today lol it hurts to walk gotta be a good sign though i suppose.. will probably try my very best to do a class once a week but not making any promises lol..
jazmum - sorry H isnt doing well with her rice cereal maybe shes just not ready yet? hope it all gets figured out soon!! maybe try something other than rice cereal a small amount of pureed fruit or something i know Asha did better with solids once they were something a bit more interesting..
lp - we give bright orange sweet potato for dinner sometimes and Ashas poo still looks the same as it did before lol no idea whats going on there
hello everyone else sorry for not many personals feeling realy tired its 12:13 and i havnt eaten yet lol better get to that!!
-
Noni- Congrats on going to the gym but sorry you are feeling it today. Hope it gets better.
Poos- dont you just love the pumpkin poo. Olivia poos twice a day in the morning and after her 5pm bottle. Xavier was the same and still poos about twice a day just like daddy. However Jordy is every couple of day or once a week and has always been like that. I also have to give him para choc daily as per pedatricican cause his poos are hard. Sorry for TMI.
-
hi ladies! yup! as expected, the full night's sleep was a 1x off. oh well.
katie, don't know about the thistles. just know that the lady in the health food store pointed out the blessed thistle. best to check w/ the health food store. will let you know if the fenugreek works for me.
brisbane ladies, ok for most days of the week. have exercise at rbwh on tues but can skip that (like i've done today), and mothers group on fridays...w/c i've also missed. would rather keep w/ends for dp time with max but if it's more convenient for all, will still make myself available. and can we do it in the city or anywhere more convenient for public transpo? car a/c's on the blink & don't know when it'll get fixed.
-
I can do the first Monday (so not this coming monday but next) after school starts if Leemar can only do Mondays & somewhere near public transport would be great for us too!
-
LP- Geez I am a twit. I wont be available till after the 4th feb cause Xavier is going in to hospital to have his gromets and adionoids done on the 5th feb and I had to swap days so I am now working on the 4th. Sorry.
-
Wow - it's hard to keep up with this all!!
Marydean - no aircon!!! so hopefully it's not too hot! weill be going to cousins place near by if it is!!
Food - how many of you have started solids? I havent' started anything yet. Thought I was meant to wait till 6 mnths? Feel like MAckenzie is getting a bit hungrier but I just feed her more during day.
Fianne - those full night sleeps happen very irregularly - unless you're lucky!! Mackenzie sleeps about 11-12 hrs during the night but still gets up for feeds - she's very sleepy though so it's easy for her to go back down. Haven't had the full night with no get-ups for ages though!
how funnny - at the start we used to up for about 1 1/2 - 2hrs and now it's about 10-15mins!! No wonder I was tired then! Still a bit now!
-
i think it was leanne first with the solids then myself, jazmum gave it a go but is backing off atm and lp as well the last two on drs recomendations.. the WHO does recomend you wait till 6mths but some bubs are ready earlier.. if the milk is satisfying her just giving her more during the day i wouldnt worry about it
-
hi again
before i forget, i have to thank you arte - (i'm pretty sure it was you) for giving me the tip of folding my breast pad over my bra when i'm feeding H. I always used to tuck a cloth nappy into my bra, and it was very awkward (sp?) now i find feeding anywhere so easy. So, after all of these years of feeding my girls, you taught me something simple, but fantastic :)
eta - re the solids - she seemed to be hungry when she woke up after her morning nap - so probably could have had a go with the solids then. She is so spewy at the moment, and i don't know why. Spewy , but not pooey lol.
My gp said that the medical world is now starting to question whether holding them off solids until 6 months is a good thing. (definitely if there is a family history of allergies though)
-
Scarlet has so far tried rice cereal with boiled water, she hated that so we tried rice cereal with formula which she liked much better, then i mixed apple with that & she loooves it, Just recently started on pumpkin & she likes that too :) I am only giving her little tastes atm & it's going very well, It's so cute she dives on the spoon! In regards to allergies, DF is severly allergic to banana's but wasn't when he was a child, just incase we are staying well away from them, Little fact; having an allergy to bananas isn't uncommon for Irish people... Isn't that bizzare!
Gotta take bub to the doctors, (sorry if TMI) She has a white vaginal discharge... not sure what it is but she's having a nap & have to wait for DF to pick us up, It's such a pain not having my car!
ETA: Speaking of solids, Are there certain varieties of fruits & vegies that are better?... I got butternut pumpkin & pink lady apples, are they okay? DF thought pink lady apples wouldn't be so sweet.
-
Jazmum- I hope H Poos soon for you.
LP- good luck at the doctors.
-
Hayley - Maybe its thrush? Best to get it checked out though. Let us know how she goes.
Jordie - Maddie isnt on solids yet. She doesnt seem to be angry hungrier either so I'm not starting her anytime soon I dont think.
Noni - I'm still feeling it from the gym too. Hoping to go again tonight if DP gets home from work in time.
Marydean - Oh are you writing a book? Dont know if I'll buy anything at the pash party, I get too embarrassed hehe. Should be a fun night though, its with all the young girls I've been catching up with for mums group. They are a fun bunch of girls!
Katie - Aww how cute I must get a little blow up pool. '
I cried when I dropped Maddie off this morning. She still has her rattly chest but otherwise is perfectly healthy. I think she is just a bit congested and doesnt know how to clear it. Anyway felt like an idiot again blubbering all over the joint haha.
Anyway I know I've missed alot of personals, I'm at work and shouldnt even be doing this whoops naughty naughty!
-
Jordy, I haven't started yet with solids. Alister has atopic Eczema and that can sometimes be an issue with food allergies so I am going to hold off for as long as I can.
LP, I don't think that the discharge would be anything sinister, often boys will get a bit of smegma under their foreskin which looks like little grains of rice, and that is just the penis' way of cleaning itself. But take her to the Dr's if you are worried about it. Here is a wikipedia link explaining what it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smegma
On the solids Q LP, different varieties of fruit and veges are OK. Granny smith would be better if you didn't want a really sweet apple though. There is a sticky thread in the solids forum about what to start at what age, mainly the more allergenic foods are started at a later age.
Leanne, are you OK with Xavier's op? does he need a GA for it? LOl at him being like his dad in the toilet department.
Noni, I bet you are sore up the back of your thighs. Have a nice soak in the tub tonight with some epsom salts.
Arte, see that's what I mean - not even all countries do it as standard. DH is a bit worried about being singled out as some sort of hippy for not having it though LOL. Not sure if they have another *set* growth spurt now, but they would still have them when they need them I suppose.
Cally, they only have a third RV vacc depending on the brand of vaccine used. The schedule also varies if you are of indigenous culture too.
For anyone interested here is a link for the immunisation schedule http://www.immunise.health.gov.au/in...f/Content/nips
Man I am glad I brought Alister his new tracksuit yesterday, the weather is really cool here today and the poor little guy has hands and feet like little ice blocks. So he's been wearing it today. I haven't even washed it yet LOL.
-
Sherie - are we meant to wash their clothes before they wear them? Oops. I never have, hasn't been an issue. I don't think you will be considered hippies for not getting the RV vaccine, or else all of NZ must be lol
JaZmum, glad my little tip was helpful. Glad to see that the medical profession had decided that I was right all along about only holding off solids if there is a family history of allergies lol - next they will finally see that global warming is media exaggeration
Jordie, we aren't having solids yet either. We have given him a couple of tastes just with a bit on a finger but he pokes his tongue out so I guess he isn't ready. I also can't really be bothered until after we have moved (three weeks today!) because it will be easier for me if he is just BF rather than wanting solids at inconvenient times. That must sound really lazy lol
LP, hope S is o.k, I have heard of that before as a common non-sinister thing. I vaguely remember it being something to do with hormones but I could be wrong. That is odd about irish people and banana allergies. I didn't think bananas were a particularly allergenic food.
Haley, are you feeling better now? I would cry if I had to drop W off anywhere. I left him at home with DH yesterday for 40 minutes and I worried that he would be waking up and wanting me the whole time.

Lucky it's not anything sinister DF is taking his time!
Art ~ New clothes are sometimes sprayed with chemicals to make them smell *new* & can irritate your skin, bub or adult... i wash everything new just because you never know if any icky people have tried them on or had thier grubby hands on them...lol.
I oncw saw a little boy blow his nose on the inside of a dress hanging on a rack.. atleast he blew & didn't pick!
