W has started playing up at bed time too. He used to feed to sleep and then go to bed, now he wakes as soon as I put him in the cot and it can take a few extra attempts to get him to stay in there. Hoping it is a passing thing, the last week has been terrible for sleep but I can see the big red lump back on his gum so I guess his little toothy is bothering him again.
-
Oh my goodness, cant believe Heath Ledger has passed away! Such a waste. :( My sister used to work at Bunker Bay resort down in Dunsborough, where he often took off to with Michelle & Matilda, and he was apparently so down to earth and always said hello - not a big headed super star at all.
Renee - Wow that is disgusting. We use S26 Gold too so I will be keeping a look out. Yuck I really hope it was just that one tin and not a whole batch. Pretty scary. Your letter sounds very good, I wonder how quickly they will respond.
Cally - Glad you found a child care centre. When do you go back to work? Yes you need to organise her bag the night before, and then all you need to do in the morning is bath/dress her. It makes it easier, otherwise you are running around in the morning stressed out trying to get yourself dressed for work while trying to organise the baby too.
Hayley - Thats good that Scarlet is ok - lucky it wasnt anything bad.
Marydean - Congrats on your stroller buy!
Noni - I do body combat - its like martial arts based, lots of kicking and punching, its addictive. You should give it a go, its an excellent work out.
Katie - Thanks for the huggies tip! Cant believe the kids knocking at your door at night, naughty!
Sherie - Haha trumpet bum, thats a good one!
Arte - Wow you keep your house looking nice and clean thats for sure! Mine looks like a bomb has dropped on it today. I'm sure you will sell it, sometimes you just have to hang in there. We are having trouble selling our unit, the problem is over here in WA its a buyers market at the moment and they are all offering ridiculously low prices in the hope of getting a bargain. Is that whats happening in QLD too? Love little Will in the bed, such a cutie.
Anyway have to run, Maddie is crying for mum.
-
ooohhh i've missed so much....
just wanted to say..thank you all for your kind words about lewis' pics! i know i'm biased, but he's so frrriiggging cute!!!!!
renee- i can't get over the maggot! that's not right!
lp- glad scarlet is ok. it's so scarey when things happen to them isn't it?
katie- can't believe those little naughty coreys (melb girls will know who i mean lol) knick knocking you! how annoying. have to admit we used to do it when we were in year 8 ooppps.
bought lewis some more bonds easysuits today from big w. i'm so addicted to buying him clothes. i went to the gym and got weighed and my weight is exactly the same. i'm so disappointed! i've been eating salads and walking 5kms all for nothing!!!!
i'm really shattered about heath ledger. lewis was close to being called matilda if he was a girl out of my obsession with heath! unfortunately matilda goes really badly with dp's surname so we decided not to go with it...oh, and the small matter of him coming out a boy! lol
-
lol just finished some microwave popcorn for dinner coz i am lazy n dnt have many points left haha did u know a packet of lite microwave popcorn is only 1.5 points?? i didnt untill now lol..
Ashas been pretty good today shes snoozing on the lounge atm on and off (dp is with her).. she had her fave dinner or rice cereal and banana and was a bit upset when it was finished actually lol...
gracie -i feel ur pain i tried really hard this week n put on .1 they told me to wait till next wk coz the excersise n stuff might catch up but i am a bit sceptical.. im a pretty big heath fan too its weird hearing bout it..
haley-our place looks like a bomb hit it too!! i worry with body combat i will look like too mich pf an unco weirdo lol its bad enough with step i nearly fell off a few times lol
arte- hope ws toothy stops bothering him n he can get some sleep.. hope you get what u want for the house
cally - ashas always grumpier at night think its a tired thing.. hope it gets better for u
md - glad h is looking forward to the salad i had it today lol i make the full amount n seperate it into serves (4) so it was the last of it lol.. yeah i know .1 is only a tiny bit the ww lady told me not to worry about it too but the reason i was so upset this time is because i was only .6 off my goal weight :( i would have finally been in my healthy weight range and now i am .7 off it instead frustrating stuff!! anyway i joined unlimited today and the internet stuff is really helpful so hopefully that will help.. as well as when i did the quiz for how many points i should have it said 19 must be due to weight loss coz i was between 20 - 22 before so hopefully that will help too though thats pretty hard!!
cally - gl with the childcare
-
Noni - Body combat is fine once you get the hang of it. The first few times you go you feel a bit unco, but its the same routine every time so it doesnt take long to pick up. You slowly move from the back of the class to the front lol.
Oh my goodness me, Maddie is almost 4 months old! Where has the time gone?
-
Hayley, just the name is scary - "combat" I don't want to fight anything let alone my own thighs LOL!
Noni, the salad was a hit - I think I cooked the toms too long, they kind of went sloppy, but it was yum anyway - DD didn't even mention the lentils LOL. I put a boiled egg in each plate too. I'm sure you will get to your goal soon!
-
Well she went down easier tonight, mainly because she was so tired she fell asleep during the last feed.
Hayley - I don't have to go back to work until 1 year exactly after she was born. I think I might try and extend it a week or two, then it will be school holidays and DH can look after her and she can start beginning of Term 4. Makes more sense than putting her in care for 2 weeks, then having 2 weeks at home with daddy and then back to care. Mum has offered to come down and babysit for a week if needed.
I used to do body combat, it was good.
Gracie - you might have a big loss next time you are weighed, don't lose heart, keep up the healthy eating and big walks!!
-
lol at combating your thighs MD. I don't like my odds against mine either.
Noni and Gracie, sorry about the weight gain/standstill. Hope that your exercise pays off for next week.
Cally, glad Miss K went to sleep easier tonight. Sounds like a good plan for when you start back at work.
My house isn't actually tidy - I shifted the junk out of the way to take the photo and then shifted it back again. Anywhere that isn't visible in the photo has a tonne of crap jammed there lol. I didn't actually mean to send the photo with W in the bed, there is another with him cut out that I thought I attached. Do you think I should change it?
Haley, it is a buyers market here but we will make some $ off it anyways and have based all projections on a lowish price so anything more is a bonus.
Thumb sucking. What are your views? W has just started this, so far I have been pulling it out when I see him sucking on it. Is it something that they do and then grow out of or will he still be sucking his thumb at high school?
Sherie, I have no idea how you manage to do everything when your DH is on night shift. I usually use DH's baby time to cook dinner, with him away I don't get a chance to eat until W is in bed around 9ish. What do you do with Mr A and the big kids when you are trying to make dinner?
W won't 'walk' on the carpet lol. When he is standing in front of me and I hold his arms he will take steps, but only on the smooth floor. As soon as we get to the carpet he won't step anymore. Hope he isn't going to be one of the kids that won't walk on grass lol.
Can't remember what else has happened in here.
Oh, the Brisbane meet up. So far the only day Leanne can do is Monday the 28th, but LP can't make it that day. So I am not sure what to do, it would be easier if you all had no life like me lol
-
my poor baby is sick!! got back from shopping and there was a huuuuuge horrible sounding painful vomit everywhere.. then we changed her and we had another one but it looked more like just water where as the other one looked like chunks of formula sorry tmi!! i gave her a little water and a big hug and she is now sleeping on the lounge coz she still has a bib on jic and i want to watch her poor lil muffin!!
glad you guys liked my salad theres a bbq chicken pasta one too which is really nice i am gonna make it tmw, it has more points 5 1/2 i think but its pretty filling considering it has chicken and pasta as well as all the veges let me know if u want me to post it..
enjoying the ww online thing just type in the food and it comes up instead of forever flicking through the book :)
arte - i think if u can intervene with the thumbsucking now then do it my cousin (7) still sucks his thumb when he is really tired coz he cant break the habbit and they have tried everything to get him stop!!
-
Noni, hope Asha is o.k. I don't know if I have said but your new ticker photo is very cute.
The pasta sounds good, I would like to give it a try if you don't mind posting it. I think I will keep taking the thumb out of his mouth - I chew my nails and I can't break the habit.
-
hi everyone
noni - hope Asha is ok. You said she has been a little spewy lately (it was you wasn't it?), could it be one of the solids that you've given her? Having said that, Hannah is still spewing up a little, even without me feeding her the solids. Maybe you put on .1 because you built up some muscle at that step class ;) would love it if you could post the recipe.
Cally - glad you found a good Child Care Centre that you feel comfortable with. I hope Katie sleeps well for you tonight
re Heath Ledger - i feel so sad. Poor little Matilda is going to grow up without her Daddy. He was a cutie too.
Hannah is now pushing up on her toes - like she is doing push ups!!!! I think i'm going to have to put a helmet on her, as well as some knee pads!
hope everyone has a great sleep :)
-
Cally - I'm glad Katie went down easily for you tonight.
Arte - Maddie was thumb sucking right from the start, and I gave her a dummy to try to break that habit. I would prefer to let her have a dummy and wean her off it. A thumb is much harder to wean them off for obvious reasons.
Noni - I hope Asha is ok. Maybe it was one of the solids you tried her on? Earlier I think it was you talking about pureed apples & pears, do you mix them into the rice cereal or just give it to her straight up? What do you think of offering banana as a 1st food or is it best to start on rice cereal? Sorry just trying to educate myself about solids and I'm having a hard time lol. Oooh pls post the recipe, sounds yumo.
Jazmum - Wow sounds like Hannah is a strong little thing. Does she like her tummy time? I'm still having trouble with Maddie and tummy time.
I have got a sore sore throat and a runny nose...great. Trying to keep my cold away from Madeline!
-
Morning everyone!
Hayley, fingers crossed you 1 don't get sicker and 2 Maddie doesn't get it either.
Noni, How is Asha this morning hun? And .1 kg could be anything - a glass or water, retaining fluid. 100grams is bugger all when you see something that weights only 100g.
Hi Jaz! When does J start back at school?
Arte, It's up to you if you want Will to be a thumbsucker or not. Paige is 3.5yrs and still going strong with it and we have tried the nailpolish for nail biters and she just kept sucking LOL. It hasn't affected her teeth at all though. So while we were happy for her to do it as a baby and toddler (no having to search for lost dummys in the middle of the night), we would like her to stop now. She only does it when she is going to bed though, so it's not that bad. My brothers DSD is 5 this year and still has a dummy and only takes it out when they have visitors so you can have problems with both of them.
Getting everyone organised while DH is on nights isn't that bad. he leaves at 4.30pm, and I cook him dinner (or lunch I suppose LOL) and make enough for everyone so all I have to do is reheat it at dinner time or just reheat the veges and cook the meat (depending on what we have). With his day shift work hours he isn't home till nearly 8pm, so I still have to do the bath/fed/bed stuff on my own anyway. Its only when he is on days off that he is here. I like nights better as I can get them all into bed earlier as when he's is on days, they like to stay awake to say goodnight to him.
Back to school haircuts are on the agenda today. Plus I will get Lindsay some new boots for school. I am going to have to get Alister something for all the lower wind pain he's been having. I think the trade off from the AR formula is that instead of spewing, he is now getting wind, but it only affects him during the night from about 4am onwards. He starts kicking his legs around until he farts (and they aren't small farts by any means - make a man proud they would LOL) and then he is settled again for a while until the next one starts paining him and the same thing again. At least he isn't crying from it, he just kicks about and talks to himself LOL, but it's making me tired.
-
hey everyone
gosh having dp home is driving me crazy!! this morning i got up and went into the laundry to find that yesterday when he cleaned out the fridge he had left a bag of rubbish as in off food in the laundryu and it was still there this morning!! yuk that and instead of putting a new bag in the nappy bin he left a wet nappy on the change table grrrr men are useless!!!
asha is a bit better now thanks to all who asked i dnt know about the solids thing she just had banana and cereal which she has all the time but she was so sick last night i am thinking maybe her tummy just isnt quite ready and we need to stop for a while.. idk i am gonna up her milk and take out the solids for a few days and see how she goes with it to find out..
haley - we tried the plain fruit first and then i mixed them with cereal when i was defrosting them coz they go a bit runny.. i think banana is an ok first food but be careful how much you give it as i heard it can cause constipation if they have it to often
arte - thanks for the comment on the ticker photo that was chrissi morning opening presents lol
ok so the chicken pasta salad
serves 4 points per serve 5 1/2
-240g pasta spirals
- 1/2 cup low fat mayo
- 3 green shallotts - trimmed and sliced
- 1 red capsicum - chopped fine
- 1 celery stick - chopped fine
- 1 lebonese cucumber - peeled, deseeded and sliced
- 300g bbq chicken breast
- 40g snow pea sprouts - chopped
- 8 cherry tomatoes - chopped in 1/4
- salt
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
cook pasta till aldente, and add ingredients in order, mix together and serve warm or cold
-
noni - that sounds delish!!! that might be a good Sunday night dinner. I haven't given Hannah any solids for the past 2 days, but she is still doing lots of chunky spews.
sherie - what do you think you will get for Alisters wind? I occasionally give Hannah the Brauer's colic relief, but i think i might try something else. It wakes her through the night, and sometimes she will cry with it too - I just end up feeding her to settle her. I've been on a diet since Monday, and have been eating healthy food - thinking that eating all of the naughty stuff may have contributed - but it's still the same . I have been eating the ww's biscuits though - i wonder if it could be the refined foods that don't agree with her. I just don't know.
Jess starts Grade one on Wednesday and Zoe will be going to Pre-Prep 3 days per week, starting next Thursday. I'm going to miss them both :( (i think Hannah will too)
Hayley - hope you're feeling better soon.
-
Arte is Will ok when you take his thumb out? Does he do it only when he is tired?
Cally glad K went down easier for you.
Noni that chicken pasta looks delish, will have to give it a try. I hope Asha is feeling better.
Sheire good luck with the haircuts and back to school stuff you need to get done. Lol at A's big farts.
Jaz how wxciting having your girls in school. I am sure you and H will miss them for the first few weeks, but it will get better.
Hayley I hope your feeling better soon and fingers crossed Maddie doesnt pick it up.
Well no knock and run last night so woo hoo, I was ready to whip some butt though lol. Logan is starting to sleep longer and hasnt had a feed through the night this week.....I have now probably jinxed myself. Better go Logan is awake and wants his mum. Have a great day!
-
jazmum - it is really nice ive been really surprised with these ww recipes they generally have alot of ingredients and take some time but they are soo nice!! i just had it for lunch!! its sur[prising hpw big one serve of it is too!! has hannah been upset with her spews? do they make an awful sound sorry tmi i was really worried about asha last night i am not giving her solids today...
-
Noni, the WW winter recipes are really yummy too - love their vege soup. Glad to hear that Asha is well today.
Jaz, J starts the same day as Lindsay. Erin starts on the Thursday. Paige is going to miss her a lot - for all the fighting they do they are quite close. I just got some Infants Friend as it seemed like it was better suited to what I need it for (relieving lower wind pain). I haven't ever used it before though so I hope it works. Hopefully H will stop spewing so much soon.
Katie, Thank goodness they didn't come back again, little rotters they are.
Well haircuts went fine, but they fight over who goes first so I make them go youngest to oldest LOL - Paige is the worse at having to wait too long.
-
Katie - How cute is Logan in the washing basket!!
Noni - Thanks for the recipe, I'll give it a go on the weekend
Sherie & Jazmum - Are you looking forward to the kids going back to school? Aww Jess starting grade one, no doubt there will be tears :(
I'm still feeling like crap but Maddie is still smiling and laughing away lol. I made myself get up and go shopping today, as I find If I lay around telling myself that I feel sick, it gets worse.
-
Hayley, I would be lying if I said I wasn't LOL (gosh that sounds terrible doesn't it? ;) ) In the newsagents today, the kids were taking ages to pick which lolly they wanted (they always get a lolly in the 'paper shop') and the woman serving laughed and asked if i was looking forward to school going back and I said yes, only 6 more sleeps - I count the days till school like the kids countdown Christmas.
Pleased to hear that Maddie is still OK.
-
hey hey!
Gracie Lewis is such a little spunkrat - gorgeous pics. I hope you are going to show the one of him with his dear little scrote showing at his 21st!!!!
Arte - great house, fingers crossed for you. Love the baby-in-bed pic!
oh man, S is awake - gotta go.
ETA: aah, happier baby on the boob. Her hungry cry sounded just like a tired cry then - had a bit of confusion there! She is going really well - think the reflux is settling but now it seems to be wind/tummy discomfort or some such. Not all the time, but she's really letting us know when something's up. And when nothing is she's the happiest little dag! Fingers crossed her harness will be off in a week...
oh and MD what is this about breaddough bum? Made me hungry LOL
renee, omg you poor thing. Awesome letter, wanna know how you go hun x
hope you're all well & that the return to school goes well xxx
Katie will check out Logan now!
-
Queenie, awesome news about the harness hopefully coming off - v.exciting! Let us know when it happens! xx
Noni good to hear Ash is better this morning.
Sherie, let us know if you get any results from the infants friend. E is paying for my lentil salad yesterday LOL, she's quite tuneful and has even laughed once or twice when the botty trumpet's gone off.
Hayley take care hun, rest up if you can.
Jazmum LOL at H doing pushups! Sounds like she could teach me a fitness trick or two!
E *nearly* rolled over again today, I put the toy she wanted just out of her reach and she got 95% of the way there, just didn't quite get there! Boy she got cranky when it was about a cm away from her fingers LOL.
BTW I've been meaning to ask how all the kiddies are going with their chrissy prezzies a month down the track. A couple we got E (Bruce the Moose and Patty the Panda) are her favorites, she plays with them for ages everyday.
-
Hi Queenie!! That will be a pretty special day when S gets her harness off I bet :) That is great news though - are they confident it's been working? So glad to hear that she is starting to settle down now, I can tell from the *sound* of your post that you are much happier now and that's wonderful.
ETA - *snap* Marydean. I will definately let you know if it works. Oooh I can just picture E getting frustrated at not getting the toy, mean mummy you are trying to make her roll over LOL ;). As for the presents he got, he is starting to play with them more - not so much the stuff we got, as we gave him some FP cars/trucks etc, but the softer toys and bath toys he is really getting into. Mum brought him a Tiny Tad leap frog soft toy and it sings and talks when you press it so he really likes that one.
-
Time for a new thread again everyone!
