thanks renee - i think everyone has prepared themselves for it happening, and knowing that she really wanted to die makes it a little easier. I told the girls and they weren't really worried.I guess that's the 3rd death in our family over the past 6 months - so maybe they just see it as something that happens.
-
Woo hoo for public holidays, no work for me today so I am only working one day this week YAY YAY YAY! Still we had to pay for childcare today, so stupid.
Jazmum - So sorry to hear about grandma :( She did well making it to her 90's. I am doing a double degree, bach of education home economics and social sciences. Hope your girls get better soon, its hard enough looking after one sick child, how do you do it haha!
Renee - LMAO I just had a real good laugh picturing you doing the thriller dance, DP came running in going what what, what is it! Ahhhahaha still laughing that is so funny!! I am a homebody too, we went out a bit when we were 18 but when we hit 19/20 we were already over it!
Marydean - I am flat out too with study!! I cant believe how much reading is involved in uni! I love reading, but this is over the top.
Gracie - You poor thing, sounds horrible. Wow cant believe Lewis has two teethies! One started coming through for Maddie, but has dissapeared and hasnt come back.
Noni - Is the prune juice working?
Katie - Wow 6 months already, goes too fast. Let us know how you go at the CHN
Anyway must go do some things around the house while Maddie is having a big sleep. (hopefully)
-
Hello all! Still sick here, but its gone from making me feel completely dreadful to just dreadful now. It just annoys me because I never get sick and I have a cold before winter even starts. Alister is over his little head cold anyway.
Jaz, I'm really sorry to hear about Grandma. No matter if they were waiting for it or not, a passing of a loved one is always hard. Take care.
Sorry I haven't done personals, but I can't hardly think this afternoon - too tired.
-
Sherie - you poor love - i hope you feel better soon.
dh said last night - 'you'd better take Hannah because i can't afford to get sick'. Hellooooo!!!! Who will look after everyone if I get sick!!!
eta - marydean - i think i'm in trouble......i've just found e-bay!!!!!!!
-
LOL @ ebay Jazmum! I was just raving about it to my auntie tonight who has a secret (real life) auction fetish and I'm pretty sure she's going home to get broadband set up so she can ebay! What are you buying? I got my tupperware icecube trays on there last week and DH picked up E's new tunnel play-gym thingy too. :D
Sorry to hear about Grandma, I reckon she'll be sitting up there comfortably without her weary old bones, having a nice hot cuppa and and feeling all the love that everyone is sending as they think about her. xxx
OK everyone, stop getting sick, it is far too early in the year for that! I hope you all feel magically better when you wake up tmrw morning!
Arte, I wanted to say how excited I am that you might've found a house already, that's excellent work!
Noni we have one of those swings too, I've told DH to bring it out from under the house and we'll work out where we can hang it - might be the clothes line cos there aren't too many places here to put it. Haven't checked out how sturdy the hills hoist is yet.
Ok Bettybubs is waking up, that's my last drinks call ;)
-
md - have been checking out winter clothing for the girls. I've put in a few bids, and when it comes back with ' winning bid' i go @#$#@ I'll be in a spot of bother if i win all of the items i've bid on!!!!! i'm also waiting on some edible Hannah Montana cake images that i purchased from ebay last week.
hope you have a good night's sleep. I just looked at the time. best be off to bed myself.
-
Edible Hannah Montanas? I had no idea there was such a thing, better get some for my own Hannah Montana! Clothes are just the best thing on eBay - it might seem expensive all at once but you'd spend a lot more if you shopped at the real shops.
:bedtime: here too!
-
had a bit of a scare yesterday, asha came up in a rash all over her and started screaming.. we took her to the dr and well theres nothing wrong with her lol.. he thinks just heat rash which is probably what i would have thought too if she wasnt screaming, no explanation for that though she seems ok this morning...
jazmum - sorry to hear about grandma, glad you and the girls are coping well :)
md - yeah no where else to put our swing but on the clothes line lol its stable so its all good.. she loves it and it makes it easier for me to hang clothes, no more dirtying her bouncer putting it outside or running back and forth from the house..
sherie - hope you get better asap!!! are u able to get any rest?
haley - yes prune juice deffinately working things are getting much better on that front :) i give her only 2 mls in 5mls of water in the morning before her breakfast.. and she has the rafertys multigrain breakfast with apricot and banana and iron, she was having the banana poridge but i am pretty sure thats what caused the problem so shes just having the one...
gracie - wow two teeth!! i keep thinking asha is teething with all the dribble and winging but theres nothing there so far lol
renee - i know what your saying about getting out of town!! we went there when i was still preg and it was freezing and there were no trains and we had to wait for a bus which was packed and took so much longer then a train would have..
-
hey there was putting some pics on facebook so i thought id put a few on here if you wanna check them out :) also updated my ticker pic hehe
-
Hi Girls,
Noni- Love the pics
Gracie,Sherie- I hope you a both feeling better soon
Jazmum- Sorry about DH Grandma and hope the girls all get better.
Renee- I am a homebody too.
Well I have recovered from my weekend and now its DH birthday today. He leaves for Perth tomorrow arvo and will be back saturday then next week he is off to sydney, Adelaide and melbourne on the friday. I am meeting up with him on the Saturday then we are off to the grand prix and the kiss concert on the sunday and home on the monday. Oh boy I am so going to miss my babies. 2 nights away from them. Ihope I can enjoy myself. Usually I just worry and want to be with them.
Better go.
Hello everyone
-
I bought 'Sleeping Like a Baby' yesterday. Do people think its worth getting '100 ways to calm the crying' as well?
DD didn't poo yesterday - today she made up for it with 3 big ones!! All about 15 minutes after I had changed her, so I went through a lot of nappies today.
Have invited a few of the girls and babies around for coffee on Thursday morning. Should be good.
Leanne- that's a lot of travelling!! I hope you enjoy your time away and get a couple of good nights sleep. Are the kiddies staying with the grandparents?
Pregpan & MD - Did you see that Pinky is speaking in Canberra at the end of the month?
Think I've given up on the CHN. I've left a couple of messages over the last 2 weeks trying to make appts for K's 6 month check up and she hasn't called me back. Slacker.
Ordered a Maxirider for K last Thursday and it arrived today - including postage was $30 less than retail price which was pretty good.
Sherie & Gracie - hope you're feeling better
Jazmum - hope the girls aren't too sick for you, what a shame when DH is away! Sorry to hear about DH's grandma.
-
Just a quick one from me tonight. We had L's 6 month appointment today. He is right on the 50th percentile for everything. CHN was a little concerned about his front fontanel (sp) being fused together early and protruding so she sent us to the GP, he has sent us to the Pead. They both said not to be concerned and that it was just a good idea to have the professionals look at it. I cant get into the pead until mid May, DH is freaking out lol. We have started solids now too, so I will probably have a zillion questions for all of you who have already started solids. L has his needles on Thursday, thankfully its the last lot for 6 months.
I am off to bed now, I am feeling really tired today and had a massive breakdown this arvo, it was good to get it all out though.
Sorry for no personals again, I am reading everyones posts but am just to tired tonight to respond. Ciao for now gorgeous ladies.
-
noni - is asha still ok?
leanne - crackers!!!!!! i'm tired just from reading your post!! what a busy weekend you have ahead of you.
cally - where did you get your maxirider from?
katie - hope you're having a good sleep right now :) was your dh with you when you had your breakdown this afternoon? big hugs to you.
off to bed now - have just spent the last couple of hours stuffing the pinata and decorating water bottles. (was supposed to be having an early night - but i ate some of the lollies and now i'm wide awake:rolleyes:)
-
Hi Girls,
Cally- Mum is having Olivia and my Cousin (who is more like my sister) is having the boys. I leave at lunch time on Saturday and back on Monday morning around 7.30am. As the time gets closer I wish I wasnt going.
Jazmum- Thats not the half of it. I get back on the monday morning then we are off on our annual easter vacation up the beach on the 20th.
DH leaves today for Perth. So I am a bit sad today.
Hello to everyone and have a great day:hello:
-
Cally, get it at the library! (sorry I'm genetically designed to say that ;)) How much did you pay for your Maxirider. We already have a smaller seat which will expire in 18 months so we're getting a Maxirider for the other car and then it'll do when E's bigger as well. I haven't shopped around yet so I'm keen to hear how much you paid. is Pinky speaking at the ABA health professionals seminar? That's coming up soon
OMG Leanne I can not keep up with you. The highlight of my weekend will be sitting on the couch to watch a DVD LOL! Hope DH had a lovely birthday.
Noni, how's Asha now? My heart skipped a beat when I read about the rash. Always a bit scary when thet pop out like that. Love the photie with the groovy sunnies :D
Katie, ring the paeds office and ask to go on their cancellation waiting list, otherwise you can ask your doc for another referral and see if there's less of a wait.
Better go, Bettybubs is getting bored.
-
MD - I'm in the country!! Our library (that shares with about 6 others up and down the coast) doesn't have it.
Jazmum - I got the Maxirider at pram warehouse (google it - first one).
Oh she's awake - back later.
-
hey everyone
thanks for your thoughts in regards to Ash, shes alright still a bit rashy on and off i think its a heat rash thing.. shes just cranky coz of the constipation.. its getting better but shes still not 100% iykwim?
last night i went to the gym and left her with dp and i got a msg that said "she wont stop crying" so ended up coming home.. poor thing was so exhausted and dp dosnt really know how to wrap her and put her to bed coz its a new thing iof hers..
lost another .7 this week at ww.. pretty happy with that thats .7 two weeks in a row, cant complain since the numbers getting down now i am at 58.9 lol to be very specific and my next goal is 55 :)
-
Noni- Congratulations on the weight loss. I hope Asha's constipation clears up soon.
-
hello ladies
started feeling a bit better today- thanks for all your well wishes. i hate being sick! 10 times harder when you've got a baby too cos it's not like you can 'call in sick' iykwim?
noni- you're so skinny now i'm jealous! i can't believe how well you're doing. i keep trying to lose weight but my heart's not really in it. atm i'm just happy to stay where i am and not put on anymore and i'll deal with it later in the year. prob in the lead up to summer....
katie- hope everything is ok with logan. i'm sure it's nothing to worry about, it's so scarey though isn't it? let us know how everything goes
cally- i've got 100 ways to calm the crying as well and i find they double up a little bit. her message is basically the same in both books. it's a beautiful read though. i could post it up to you if you wanted to borrow my copy and you could post it back when you're finished? too bad you don't have a better library. md would go crazy without a sufficient library ;)
leanne- enjoy your weekend in melbourne, it's going to be a hot one i believe!
md/jaz- my friend made a cake with those hannah montana things on it i think, i'll see if i can find it and put in my gallery.
sherie- hope you're feeling better
hayley- saw maddie's pics on fb. she's such a cutie :)
well, i've got my mothers group coming around to my place tomorrow arvo. it's the first time we're meeting somewhere other than the health centre so i'm a bit nervous. i've cleaned the house and turned the loungeroom into a bit of a play area with a doona on the ground and toys on it and the fisher price swing and jumperoo set up. hopefully it goes well
unfortunately af arrived last night....:(
i can't believe it, i was really enjoying her being mia....
and to top things off, i lost heaps of money in share trading on monday. it's going to take me weeks to recover i think..
and before that i was on a bit of a winning spree....oh well, looks like my dream run is over and i may have to return to work next year NO grrrr:cry:
-
lol gracie i'm only 158cms tall so not skinny yet.. sorry bout the loss :(
-
Aww, hugs Gracie, my bubble has burst too because our house has not had a tenant for 3 months...until then we were all set! Bad luck about AF ...I'm not looking forwards to a return but I get the feeling it might be soon because it was around the same time with DD1.
Noni, you'll have to train that DP so he knows how to do it, step by step! Give him a practice run with a teddy or something first! ;)
Cally if you put in a reques the library might buy one.
-
Afternoon everyone!I wish I was feeling better, but I'm not, still battling this cold, although from the way it's lasting it could have been the flu. I feel so run down and tired too. I'm not getting a lot of rest, but I'm only doing the bare minimum around here so its not too bad.Katie, Alisters front fontanelle is barely the size of the tip of my pinky finger now. My MCHN is keeping an eye on it, but my GP wasn't concerned at his 4mth vacc. Erins was fully closed over at 9mths and she's fine, although it is worrying when they are worried kwim? Leanne, my head is spinning at the amount of things you have planned. You'll be too busy to miss the little ones.Gracie, glad to hear you're feeling a little better. Its hard with kids and we just can't go and sleep it off.Gosh, I can hardly think ATM, so I'm really sorry for the lack of personals.Oh, bit of excitement here too - DH, who has never EVER gotten me an anniversary present, not only got me one 5wks early (married on april 8 2000) but got me a buffet and hutch for the lounge room. This is something we've both wanted for years, but could never justify it, but when he went for his pre op appointment he had a browse in a furniture shop and saw just what we were after for $1100 down from $1500 so he thought bugger it, not going to find one this nice again in a long time so he got it and picked it up today. It looks so flash in our house LOL. but I can't put too much in it just yet because the sparky needs to come back and finish the electrical work and it will have to be moved. I will post a pic of it later if I think of it.We've started putting Alister in his highchair while we eat dinner and I give him a rusk to suck on and he thinks he's the bees knees sitting up and having his rusk. Not that he ends up worrying about the rusk too much, he just likes being able to sit at our height mostly.
-
oohh sherie- sorry you're not better. congrats on anniversary present. enjoy :)
md- sorry your bubble is bursting too. it's bad isn't it? oh well, it's only money...there's a lot worse things people go through.
i just uploaded the hannah montana cake from my friend's daughter's birthday. thought you mothers of hannah montana freaks might be interested. also put in there a pic of lewis just cruising on the couch :)
-
Noni - Glad Asha's rash wasnt anything sinister, I would have been rushing straight to the doctor too. Maddie is still constipated as well, might have to give the prune juice a go. How cute is Asha in her bath seat! Will have to check out the FB pics later.
Leemar - Oh no its so hot here in Perth, hope your DH doesnt mind hot weather haha.
Katie - Sorry to hear about your mini meltdown - we've all been there before! I had mine just a couple of weeks ago now as I was feeling the pressure of working, studying and looking after Mads.
Jazmum - I'm a big ebay fan too, DP keeps threatening to change the password so I cant go on and buy stuff anymore!! Will you be taking the girls to see the Hannah Montanna movie when it comes out? I am so there!
Sherie - Hope you are feeling much better today.
Cally - Have a nice time tomorrow morning!
Marydean - I have picked up some great bargains on ebay - havent looked at the clothing yet though, will check that out now.
Well Maddie and I went to a mums and bubs movie session today to see The bucket list - I really liked it and really had a good cry through some parts, but out of the corner of my eye I could see lotsa mums with tissues lol. Renee I should have invited you, but it totally slipped my mind I'm so sorry. We def have to catch up for a movie though, its great.
Has anyone been playing peek a boo games with baby lately? I read that its a good one to play around this age as it teaches them something along the lines of mum goes away but comes back again (they explained it in much more detail but I cant remember) Also pop up toys as well are meant to be good. Maddie loves peek a boo
-
Bummer I wrote the previous post over a couple of hrs and in the meantime there were heaps more posts...heres a bit of an updated one lol
Sherie - Oh no sorry to hear you are still unwell you poor thing. Definately post a pic of your pressie because I have no idea what a buffet and hutch is!! :)
Gracie - You are lucky your AF was mia for as long as it was, I got my first when Maddie was 6 wks and it has been regular as normal since then. I guess you are BFing as well though. Such a pain isnt it!! I cant stop uploading pics of Maddie onto facebook, people must think I am crazy - just a proud mummy! Good luck for tomorrow i'm sure it will be great, sounds like the babies will have fun with the little area you have set up.
