Noni, making homemade toys, what a stroke of genius! :D Is that for the song "Five little ducks went out one day, over the hill and far away..."? We already sing that to E cos she likes the quackquackquack bit and there aren't too many words for mummy's tired brain to remember. LOL
-
Haley, the interest rates keep going up and up here too. They are at 10.2% at the moment. And petrol here is crazy, it is currently $1.79per litre. I don't cook anything for the mesh bag, he just slobbers, sucks and squishes it out.
Gracie, I am glad we moved to the bigger sized nappies - they fit so much better. I think he must be wide across the waist because he is supposed to fit them for another 3 kilos but the grip tabs were right on the edge. The toddler nappies are for 10-15kg but he is 8kg and they fit perfectly.
Cally, it is much easier to just keep quiet when people ask how they are sleeping. Everyone seems to know the magic cure that will instantly get you a full night sleep lol. W is still waking about 4 times a night but I have had him in bed with me so I just feed him and go back to sleep so it hasn't been too bad. I don't think I have slept longer than 4 hours in one go this entire year. Midnight pooing isn't fun.
Noni, well done on the home made craftyness.
Leemar, it was cold here the other night and it was so nice to cuddle up to Will.
Ozstar, how did Logans vaccinations go? Hope he was a brave boy and didn't cry.
I have just realised that I don't know who does the vaccinations here, if I need to take him to the Dr or if the plunket nurses can do it. I signed up for a doctor in town but then someone said he should have retired years ago so I want to change to someone different. There is some crazy system here where you register with a particular doctor and if you get prescriptions from them it is $3 but if you go to a random doctor they charge $15 for the same medicine. They must have changed it while I was gone.
I asked the receptionist at the Dr's where you have babies around here and she said you don't. There is nowhere to have them. There are midwives in the area and a small hospital the next town over at the military base but since I will be 'high risk' because of GD I will have to travel 2 hours to hospital. That doesn't sound very appealing. Not that #2 is happening for a while yet, just wanted to be prepared.
Sherie, after saying I thought that it wasn't worth getting the rotovirus vaccine, there was an outbreak that affected 48 soliders in the next town. I guess it is more common than I thought.
-
md - yeah thats the one.. Asha like it too so i thought i could do with some props to make it more exciting hehe..
arte - hope u figure out the dr/nurse thing all a bit confusing for my tired brain
-
Hi Girls,
Well tonight I have 2 boys in the bed. I think I will put them both back in there own beds when I am ready for bed.
Sherie - What a wonderful pressie. You lucky girl . Hey we were married the same year. But I dont think I will be getting any pressies.
Noni- I use to sing that to the boys when they were little and they loved it and now I sing it to Olivia. I usually do it when crying and they instantly stop crying. I also sing if your happy and you know it clap your hands. They like that one too.
My brother came over tonight and fitted some new flick mixer in the kitchen and a new spout in the bathroom for me so I fed him dinner and he helped me bath the boys. I put Olivia in her bath and she loved it she was splashing the water and laughing like crazy it was so funny.
Art- I love snuggling and its good too cause my boys are like there daddy, they are warm as toast.
Hello to everyone and sweet dreams to all
-
I've been popping in and out of here on and off today and completely forgot to post!
I am feeling a fair bit better today - due mainly to having a better sleep last night I think. But I can't stop sweating and I feel like my body temp is a gazillion degrees. So I have been drinking heaps of water cause I feel so thirsty all the time. Hopefully this is the tail end of it.
I had Alister on the floor late this afternoon in our sun room I suppose you'd call it and the sun was coming in through the window and shining on the floor making a pattern and he kept trying to grab at the sunlight LOL. It was so funny to watch him reach out and try to get it, only to look really confused when he couldn't get it LOL. I just love the fact that he knows *nothing* kwim? like he can do what he was doing and not have a clue it was only sunlight on the floor
i tell you what, with all this talk of nursery rhymes and stuff - all of you should go out and grab a copy of The Wiggle "Pop go the wiggles" DVD - its all nursery rhymes and it's just fantastic. Paige has watched it everyday nearly since I got it at the concert and I sing along with it too and Alister loves it - he sits there riveted listening to us sing along. Also good if your memories of nursery rhymes are a bit fuzzy - has all the great ones Five little ducks (Paiges fave) Oranges and Lemons, the full version of Twinkly twinkle little star - theres 45 odd songs on there.
-
nice avatar sherie- you little hottie!
-
Sherie- I just seen the pic of your buffet hutch. I love it. Hey Snakes just freak me out. I got the creeps just looking at the snake at your back porch.
-
hi everyone
sherie - i agree, what a little hottie!!! What a thoughtful DH you have. The buffet looks wonderful. The photo of you and Marydean is a great one. It must have been great to meet in real life. Have you heard of Tissue Salts? I went to the Bowen Therapist today, and she gave me some for Hannah. The poor little chicken has conjunctivits :( Such a horrible thing. She has green snot coming out of her nose as well, so she looks a treat at the moment.
Arte - i saw those mesh bags at the shop. does it make a huge mess?
gracie - thanks for posting the pic of the Hannah montana cake. I'll be making mine tomorrow and icing it on Saturday. Hopefully it will turn out ok.
md - lol at you not doing well at cooking with breadcrumbs.
Leanne - i love snuggling up with my girls too. When i'm tucking Jess in at night, she often asks me if i've finished all of my jobs for the night, 'cause one of my favourite things to do is fall asleep in there with her. (Zoe is usually asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow)
Cally - the Bowen therapy only took a minute. She basically just gently touched Hannah in 2 spots. Also gave me some Tissue Salts - i spray it under her tongue - for the conjunctivitis and can also be used to treat colic and reflux.
I'm not sure whether it's going to work yet, but this afternoon she was a having a really relaxed sleep, and tonight she fell asleep by herself, without her dummy.
will let you know tomorrow how our night goes.
noni - i love making crafty bits too.
our song that we sing is baa baa black sheep, but we change it a little:
'baa, baa black sheep, have you any wool
yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full
one for the daddy and one for the mum
and one for the little girl who came from Mummy's tum."
(we started singing it to Jess when she was a baby)
am taking the girls to their great grandma's funeral tomorrow. i am taking along 11 helium balloons (one for each of the great grandchildre) and we're going to send them 'up to heaven' after the mass.
-
Oh Jazmum the balloons sound like a wonderful thing to do for your grandma. As for sleeping tonight I think I will leave the 2 boys in the bed and snuggle up to both of them.
-
Woot woo Sherie, Love the av. Good to hear your starting to feel better. Logan loves the wiggles and Hi Five. We made a mixed CD of nursery rhymes and dance around every afternoon.
Jaz we realesed balloons at DH's mums funeral, it was beautiful to watch them go up.
Leanne did you leave the boys in bed with you?
Arte wow 10.2% interest rates, thats huge. I hope you sort out the Dr situation.
MD Logan loves the quack quack bit of 5 little ducks too.
Noni what did you make the puppets out of?
Cally I think Katie just like cuddles, it must be her name ;)
I have to do Logans hand and foot print today, I do them every 3 months. His vaccinations went fine yesterday and so far no reactions (he hasnt had any in the past). I was at a friends house yesterday and everytime her baby cried so did Logan, I dont think he liked the noise he was getting very upset. We are starting swimming lessons next month so with that and palygroup we will be very social indeed.
We bought Logan a wiggles couch last night, Toys R Us has them on special. He loves being able to sit up (I still put a few pillows around him). I had better go and get ready to feed him, which reminds me so far so good with the solids......although one of you girls could have warned me that his poo would be even stinkier
-
gosh i can hardly keep my eyes open this morning lol i was in bed at around 11pm up at 3-4 to bring asha into bed with me, dps alarm went of at 5 so woke him up for work, asha started squeeling and playing at around 6:30 then i put her in her bed and put the mobile on, had to wake up at 7 so tape something for dp then back to bed, then ash was out at 7:30 and back in bed with me and ended up waking up around quatre past 8 to feed and not interested in going back to sleep..
shes really funny at the moment.. i think its just a 5mth old thing though been a long time since ive looked after a 5mth old, shes very demanding and can be quite clingy and wingy sounds about right dosnt it? considering shes playing and squeeling in her bouncer at the moment lol she does have good times just it can change in the blink of an eye lol oh well..
katie - i just used felt and pva glue prettyt easy.. i might post a pic when they are done.. glad the solids are going well.. we are going well here with them too.. asha actually starts winging now if its time to have them and i havent got them yet lol
jazmum - thats sounds like a beautiful idea to release those balloons..

-
morning everyone -
just a quickie - Cally, don't rush out and see a Bowen therapist just yet - Had such a bad night - although i'd probably feel better this morning if i'd gone to bed before 11:30:wall:
i'm taking Han to the doctor today, and i'm pretty sure she'll have to take antibiotics :(. Her eyes are soooo yucky and the green stuff is coming thick and fast from her nose. (sorry if anyone is eating their brekky!!)
have to bake cakes today, and would you believe - out of baking paper!!!!! have to get all three of them out of the car again.
noni - hannah has brown rice cereal for brekky - sometimes i mix a bit of apple in and for dinner she has either carrot, sweet potato or pumpkin.
katie - i hear you on the stinky poos!! Hannah did one yesterday - it was the tiniest little bit, but boy did she pong!!!
-
Morning Girls,
Yep I snuggled up to both the boys last night. DH comes home tomorrow so 1 more sleep.
Jazmum- I hope your day gets better. And hope you get some sleep tonight.:hugs:
Noni- I hope Asha sleeps all night tonight for you.
Talk to you all soon.
Luv to all

Marydean - Thank you so much for the ideas! Gymbaroo looks great but is really expensive, so is baby music classes. Im looking into mum n bubs yoga and playgroup. Will start swimming lessons when I can fit into my bathers I bought the other month (I ended up buying a size too small but I took the tags off so I couldnt return them). Thanx again Marydean, you have INSPIRED ME!
Jazmum - I love the balloon idea, sounds beautiful. Im sure the kids will love doing that. What a special moment. I hope Hannah's eyes clear up real soon. Poor love xox
Noni - I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. Some of the mums mentioned it earlier about that 5 month mark. They start to realise when your not in the room and get upset.
Rory gets custard or fruit in the morning and veggies for lunch. He doesnt have dinner. The past few times I have tried to give him dinner he ended up waking throughout the night, not fun!
Sherie - Im glad your feeling better. Love you avitar too, you have all the kids there! Thats one of the wondering things about being a mum! Everything is brand new for them, the smallest things amaze them. And through their eyes we can learn to appreciate the small things all over again. I love it!
Oz - Glad Logans needles went well. Gosh, hasnt 6 months snuck up on us! You must of missed my post on Rory's first solids poo. Jesus, I was traumatised! AND it was at my friends house haha.
Rory loves spongebob square pants. I dont know what it is about that show haha. I must buy him the movie with the hoff in it!
Ive uploaded a pic of Rory just about crawling and another of him watching spongebob.
Ive already lost 1kg whooohooo! Another 9 to go LOL (I would be happy with 7)!

asha has been showing a clear preference for her left hand lately which i thought was interesting!!!
ohand dp just got a phone call and he got a permanent job!! the one hes doing atm is labour and although we thought there was a chance of permancy it looks like there might not be.. but anyway he applied for a job completely out of his normal stuff its with centacare helping ppl with disabilities find jobs and he got it :) he was so desperate to get out of labour and get something a little more mentally stimulating and finally it happened for him and he starts monday :) as well as that my cousin and her boyfriend who were living in darwin have moved down here and are looking for a place and asked us to move with them! we are looking at a place tmw pretty full on!! ad she thinks she is pregnant as well lol its all happening down here!!!
renee - cant find the pics ur talking about? congrats on the 1kg still doing the shakes? how are u finding them?
-
Just uploaded them :) Yep still on the shakes. Its not too bad I guess (for now), im finding the healthy eating side of it the hardest though. Carrot and hommus for a snack....what the! Gawd I miss my crumpets and Veggiemite LOL!
-
Noni - well done to DP on getting a job, he must be so pleased. And good news about moving out with your cousin.
Jaz - hope H's eyes clear up soon. Shame you had a bad night last night, could the conjuntivitis be to blame or was she still windy?
Sherie - nice av!
MD - we will be up for Easter, not sure if I will hang around for the extra few days.
She's been an energiser bunny this morning - only had a 30 min nap before I put her down at 1:40 - hadn't seen a tired sign, but just had a feeling, she didn't even cry, I think she was asleep before I walked out of the room!
Now to catch up on some TV shows and have a relaxing cuppa!
-
Hi Girls,
Renee- Rory is a little cutie. Congrats on the weight loss.
Noni- Congrats to your DP on the job.
Cally- Enjoy your mumma time.
Well I wonder who will be in my bed tonight. Oh I was thinking I might get Olivias ears pierced on sat. Other than that I think I will be just relaxing as I have some pretty full on weekends coming up. Bye for now
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
