Thanks girls, I think I'm going to try with the half a scoop, only because formula costs a bomb and I'd hate to be tipping that much down the drain. So I'll give that a go for now and slowly try increasing it to 240.
Also what just conjunctivitis look like? Maddie has woken up this morning with a really gunky eye and this may be tmi but to me it smells infected iykwim. It doesnt seem to be bothering her, the eye is not red, just weepy and gunky. Sorry sounds gross! & how on earth do you treat it? Last night she woke up every hr till 1am in the morning, crying, and I had no clue what was wrong with her. As soon as I put the dummy in she was asleep again...only to wake an hr later. So not my Maddie, so I'm wondering if this eye had anything to do with it.
Agnes - I also know exactly how you feel and it does get easier eventually. Will will love daycare, & keep telling yourself that its very good for their social/emotional development!
Pregpan - Wow your job sounds very important. Haha spraying milk everywhere....that would be a tad embarrassing!
Noni - Come back soon!
Clare - Hello & welcome. What are you studying at uni?
Renee - How cold have the mornings been lately!? Must admit I love cold mornings though, good for snuggles! Ikwym about the bills!!
MD - Lucky you finding the free baby activities!
Cally - Glad to hear you have a child care place all sorted. You are very lucky to not have to go back to work till October.
-
Clare - Welcome! Looking forward to getting to know you and Leila better! Love the name Leila by the way! A good place to find a 'ticker' for the bottom of the page is lilypie.com
Hayley - Ooo I wish I knew Hayley. It sounds like conjunctivitis OR sticky eye (I believe they arent the same). I would take her to the dr to be sure. Oh I love the cold mornings too! I love it when its nice and sunny but the air has a nice cool snap to it :) I use to be able to give Rory a cuddle under the blankets but now he has far more better things to do like chase the cat, chew the blankets and try to get away from me!
Pregpan - OoOO the quantas lounge sounds so so fancy! The holiday to Phuket is on hold for the moment. Have a blast in Sydney. Your so lucky you have so many close friends about to have children. Noah is going to be a lucky boy with lots of friends! Hope you didnt spray ;)
Cally - Good news on the daycare! xox
Marydean - Those programs and talks sound fantastic. I wish we had something like that here.
Im going to take Rory for a walk this afternoon to work off that donut my mum brought around!!
Oops better run, Rory has just woken up! Lunch time :P)
-
hi everyone
Hannah is asleep, and Jess and Zoe have raided our money tin, and i can hear them jumping on the trampoline with the money going everywhere lol. they're having fun though. dh is in Melbourne tonight, so i don't feel like i have the pressure to have things organised tonight ;) gives me a chance to catch up with my bb mates :)
Hayley - conjunctivitis looks like 'eye snot'. that's how my doctor described it!!
If you wipe it away ( i used some make up remover pads - swispers?? and saline solution) and it keeps coming back, then i'd say it's conj.. Perhaps go to the doctor though - or just your chemist. Hannah also likes to pull my hair, scratch me, and her new one is to suck on my chin (now that her teeth are coming through i'm going to have to stop that one!! I can join you in the 'no sex life' club. my poor dh.
ella - great to 'see' you. I'm so glad things are going so well. You sound very happy :)
Renee - dh's cousin just went on her honeymoon to fiji. They went for 10 nights without their little boy - he's 10 months. She said it was hard at first, but she soon got used to sleeping in and lazing by the pool lol.. They were so excited to see him though.
Gracie - congrats on the win. That sounds really exciting!
Pregpan - sounds like things are coming together nicely for you. Jess used to only sleep for 20 minutes at a time when she was a bub.
arte - great news that you seem to have found a great mums group. Hope you make some great friends.
sherie - well done on the shopping trip. I've been trying to buy some clothes for the girls the past 2 days, and i've run into the same friend both times. She gets a bit lonely so wanted to join me, but i got nothing done. (now i know why i like shopping alone)
leanne - i'm glad you're doing some delegating at work. It must be nice not to have to worry about it at home.
md - you poor love. Tell that dh of yours that the belly belly girls will be onto him lol. Sounds like you've found yourself a good list of programs to try out. I think i'll be looking for things like that next year when both J and Z are at school 5 days. Hannah will need exciting things to do too. :)
cally - i'm glad Katie liked apples today. Maybe you could pretend that you are eating the food off your plate, and see if she tries to grab it. Hannah only has a very basic menu. rice cereal with pears in the morning, and some pumpkin at lunch. I'll probably start to introduce more stuff soon. I have some avocado so might see how that goes.
agnes - big hugs to you. I bet your having lots of cuddles right now. :)
Hi Clare and Leila - nice to meet you.
hi to everyone that i haven't written a personalised message to.
I took Hannah for some Bowen therapy today. I really think it is helping her alot. She's not waking now because of wind - instead it's because of her teeth. If it's not one thing it's another. I've been using some Tissue Salts spray, and i think that's helping with the teeth during the day. Might have to try giving her some through the night.
not sure who asked, but hannah only poos once every 5/6 days. She did one today, and i had to change her in the back of the car. There was Poo everywhere!!!!!
She has her Christening on Sunday, and i have about 60 adults and 14 kids coming over for lunch. Shazbutt!!!!!!!!!!
Turns out Hannah had a virus (doctor didn't know the name of it though) She developed a rash on Tuesday. It wasn't anything sinister though.
have a great night everyone. Am going to enjoy watching the Bachelor tonight. (i love crap shows lol.)
-
Hi everyone!! and thanks for the warm welcomes!
Good to know another mum is enjoying the relaxing no DH tonight!! nothing like vegeing out on the couch watching bad tv!!
Hi Hayley! I'm studying media and politics at uni. it's pretty fun and I get to watch tv and travel around the pacific pretending that i'm "working"...
Thankfully Leila has gotten to sleep easily tonight...one good thing about childcare is they are tuckered out at the end of day lol!
Thanks for the tip Renee...will check it out and hopefully be ticking along like the rest!
chat soon, and may our little tikes sleep well and long tonight he he he :)
-
hi there Clare...and welcome! glad you took our advice and came in here, you'll love it.
hayley- hope madds doesn't have conji poor little thing...
noni- where are you?
jazmum- i LOVE the bachelor- i'm waiting for it right now...did you watch the series with Charlie the bachelor??? i think this new bachelor looks like the best bachelor ever (they say that about every series of the bachelor LOL!). what did you think of that psycho girl last week???
-
busy in here today.
Jazmum wow 60 adults and 14 kids, what are you doing in the way of food?
Clare hi there and welcome, looking forward to getting to know you.
Renee whoa at the bills, they always seem to come all at once don't they. The mornings here have been exactly how you described, with that lovely crisp feeling, Logan and I have been going for big long walks while it is like that.
Did you book Rorys needles?
Hayley I would take Maddie to the Dr to get it checked out.
Pregpan lucky you off to Sydney, Noah is going to be quite a traveller.
Cally congrats on the day care.
MD the local child and family centre sounds fantastic. Poo to your DH, you do such an amazing job being on your own so much.
Noni I hope you and Asha are feeling better and back on line soon.
Hi to everyone else I missed.
Logan has been so cranky today, he woke up crying this morning after only half an hour, of normally an hour and a half nap and it took me 20 mins to calm him down and 10 mins for him to start breathing properly (he was sucking in big breaths KWIM) I was so worried. He just hasn't been himself today. I think I will go to bed early just in case I am in for a rough night. I am off to the bonds factory outlet tomorrow, woo hoo hopefully I score some great bargins.
-
Katie - poor little Logan - i hope you're not in for a bad night. Hannah is still asleep!!! she went to sleep at 4 on the boob.( I think it might have been the Bowen therapy. ) so hopefully i'm not in for a rough night either. Hope you find some good bargains tomorrow.
Gracie - was Charlie the last Bachelor? i didn't see who he ended up with. This guy looks pretty nice. I had a good laugh at the chickie from last week. I also felt sorry for her though. No wonder she's single!!!! I love watching when the girls start to get *****y, and watching their faces when they're waiting for a rose. I don't think i could humiliate myself like that in front of millions of people.
-
gosh ive missed soo much!!!
well as u all know my friend was down from melbourne.. she was staying with her boyfriend in wollongong but things got a bit messy and she needed some time away so she came down here for a few days.. everythings all good with her b/f now so it was great to see her and bubby for a few days knowing everything was well instead of the drama i thought it might turn into.. so thats why i was mia for a few days...
i am really tired atm so will be back on again soon for personals just thought id explain.. asha and i are both much better now too :) thanks for everyone who asked
-
Hi Everyone, it sure has been busy in here today!
I've been busy packing for our trip. Qantas have put in a request for a bassinette for us so hopefully we will get one! I'm so glad Perth seems to have had a bit of a cool change :)
Not sure if I will get a chance to get on BB while I'm over there, so if not, have a great next couple of weeks everyone!
Ciao for now
Tamara
PS: welcome Clare!
-
Tamara - enjoy your trip
Noni - glad that everything is OK
Jaz - how was H last night? That certainly is a lot of people to have over, hope the christening goes well.
Hayley - I'm supposed to go back to work on her first birthday (but that's a Saturday!), I'm actually planning on extending my leave a week, then my mum is going to come and babysit for a week, then it is school holidays and DH will look after her for a fortnight before she starts care. Means she gets 4 extra weeks at home. When she does start, I'm hoping to have a couple of Wednesday's off so she doesn't have 5 days straight off - will probably be easier for both of us. How's Maddie's eye this morning?
Katie - how was Logan last night?
Pregpan - enjoy Sydney, lucky you getting an Ikea high chair, I'm jealous!! How did your brain work back at work, I expect mine has shutdown completely.
Last night was a complete shocker. Fed at 7, screamed for an hour, nothing would work, refed at 8:15, didn't fall asleep on boobie, but calmed down enough for me to get her to sleep with my hands on her legs singing, woke up 3 times and resettled by DH before he came to bed (at 11:30), woke at 12:15 and took 45 minutes to resettle for me, then only slept 30 minutes before waking again (so not impressed), fed, slept for 2.5 hours before another feed. I was hoping she'd sleep in until 8 or so this morning, but no, awake at 7. And then only a 45 min nap (so no nap for me). She's asleep again now, unfortunately it can't be too long because we have to go out!
Better go and hang out the washing and tidy this place up a bit.
-
Cally - do you think she may be getting teeth? this is EXACTLY Master N's pattern when he has been having probs with his teeth (they are both there now but just tiny). What a night - poor you! Wel it was nice to turn the brain on again felt pretty foggy but i will get back into the swing of it all soon i guess. it was weird as i went down to do some stuff for the aus job but i still dont know which one i am taking in the long term - this weekend it all has to happen i guess... (when i find out about the oseas one).
Jazmum - last season of batchelor( ha ha another fan here) was charlie and he ended up with Sarah.... a hge trash tv fan here!! do you also watch preject catwalk? i reckona ll my taped foxtel trash shows are reason enough not to give up breast feeding!!! how did hannah sleep last night after that big nap??
Katie how was logan last night?
Noni - glad all is OK with you and your friend. hope you had a good time with her.
Tamara - enjoy your trip
better go, friend and bub coming for coffee and i have to pack for the weekend.
back later i hope, if not have a FAB weekend everyone and i will be back mon with my ikea high chair in tow!
-
Hi everyone, and welcome to Clare :hello:!
Just a quick one from me, BBL (I hope) for personals - does anyone in here have an Ergo? DD is getting too big for the Baby Bjorn, the sling is too lopsided for my d!ckie hips, and I never quite got the hang of my HAB - I am DESPERATE for a new sling/carrier or I swear I will go blinking INSANE! Gracie I think you've got one, is it any good?
-
MD I have heard the ERGO is wonderful.... I was also looking into it! Then I bought myself the ramalama one, but i think it wont be good for your hips (i love it though). Anyway have heard many great things re ergo.
xxx
-
ok going insaqne here!! weve had rosey cheeks, grizzling, chewing, dribbling, nappy rash, runny poo the lot but still no bloody teeth!!! gosh that and this whole house thing is driving me up the wall!! did i tell u we got approved for a place but then the real estate rang us back and said sorry but the house has termites!!! the owner is denying it and wont fix it so the real estate wont put tenants in ahhhh it just keeps getting better and better dosnt it?
md - have u put E in the bb facing forwards, thats what i do with asha now when i use it.. though she is bloody heavy and i dnt use it often lol
pregpan - i love the ikea high chair!!
cally - oh gosh what a shocker!! i hate those nights! hope she sleeps better for u tonight!!
charlismumma - have a nice trip :)
katie - howd u go at the bonds outlet?? i am jelous i love bonds!!! hows logan is he better now? that sounds scary with his breathing!! i hate it when they work themselves up like that!
welcome casius :)
jazmum - thats sooo cute i can just imagine them jumping on the trampoline with money going everywhere! 60 adults and 40 kids omg u are brave?? what is tissue salts spray?? i am looking for something to help asha because we are using bonjela alot atl as it seems the only thing that works but id rather not use it so much iykwim?
haley - in the chemist u can get these wipes called "little eyes" to clean her eyes, i find them really good.. if it keeps coming back though it probably is conjunctavitis.. sometimes if its not a bad case u can get rid of it with saline solution..
-
i wasnt finished and it hit post lol...
so hi to everyone i missed!!!
and i was wondering where everyone is up to with solids?? does it matter how much or how many meals i give her at this stage or not?? shes still only having 1-2 meals a day should i be trying harder (lol i am being abit slack sometimes) to get her to 3 meals? does it really matter yet??
-
hello lovelies
md- yes i love my ergo (check out stylish pics of me wearing it in my gallery!). i am spewin because after i bought it they released a fab looking organic range (the hunter green one is soooo me!). anyways, yes i love it. it is so much simpler than the hab- i never use my hab now. am saving it for bubs #2 when it's a newborn then it's going on ebay. the ergo is a lot quicker to put on, it's great for shopping (i wore it yesterday to the mad Target Zac Posen rush) and it is all good. the one thing i will say about the ergo is that it is not quite as good on your back as the hab, i think as the weight isn't quite as easily distributed. i tend to get a little bit of a sore lower back if i'm wearing it for ages, but it's not too bad. i find lewis isn't quite big enough to wear him on my back yet, so i always wear him on my front. i'm looking forward to being able to wear him on my back though, as i've heard people rave about it. all in all, the ergo has been a very wise investment and i think you would be really happy with one.
now, on another note, i was thinking that it's only fair that if your dh is disappearing for 3 months, he needs to get you the platinum foxtel iq package. it's only fair.
noni- glad to see you're back and safe!
pregpan- another trashy tv friend hey?? i love it. do you watch 'The Hills'? it's by far my favourite. i also loved 'I Love New York'.
cally- sounds like teeth to me
tamara- enjoy your trip!
-
ooh gracie i havent found the hills yet, i will search for it on foxtel (also never heard of i love NY but since i DO love NY I am sure i would have loved it). My SIL also wears her Ergo on the side and this seems to work well.
MD I agree w Gracie platinum foxtel seems to be a good START point for compensation!
Noni - I dont think you need to rush to get her on 3 meals of solids a day, i think it is all a bit of an experiment for now. That said Noah is a mad eater so yes he has 3 solid meals a day - sometimes more than others. I offer it 3 times and he eats what he eats. Today he is going nuts over it - had weetbix w formula for breakfast (prob ate about half the weetbix) and then some pureed nectarines, then for lunch he had carrot and cauliflower puree - i gave him 4 cubes (usually i do 3) with some grated cheese in it and he wolfed the whole lot down, was still complaining for more so i also have him 2 dessert spoons of yoghurt and he ate that too... i have some veges for his dinner (though he may miss out on that as we may be in the car on the way to syd). i am trying to introducea bit more variety now as i think he is a bit sick of purees... next week we are going to start more w finger foods (i have done a little but am waiitng to have a high chair). Anyway each bub is diff so i think you are right to go with the flow with what she seems to want. what kind of stuff are you giving her? i am trying to do a lot of more 'adult' foods - like normal yoghurt, weet bix, cheese etc so that he is always used to normal foods... he also loves vegemite!
ok off to finish my packing and then we can leave soon after N wakes up.
have a great weekend everyone
-
Hi there ladies!
Cally I totally sympathise with you. Leila also decided to dance throughout the night...now that she has learnt to sit up in the cot she is 'practising' at every opportunity...arrghhhh obviously sleeping through is out of fashion at the moment!
MD: we too have an ergo and it's fantastic! the weight is distributed really well and the bubbas dont appear to feel as constricted...also it has the benefit also of carrying them on the hip and on the back. (and i love the fact that it comes with a hood so that when they sleep you can pop them away and they dont get distracted. love it.
Noni: Hi! and ahh the joys of solids...i dont think it's a big issue at this stage. as long as bubba is happy and growing well; we only just put Leila on 3 meals a day as the little tike has a mega appetite, but i am also keeping up (pretty much) the same amount of breastfeeds...hhhmmm wonder if i should cut down on that?? any tips on that anyone?!
Pregpan: my friend has the ikea chair and cant stop raving about it! she loves it and reckons that it is easy to clean and use and has had it for almost a year (her girl is 18 months and still using it). we ended up buying the stokke as my DH insisted (he wanted a red one!), leila quite likes it and enjoys eating at the table with us (or rather smashing her food everywhere...)
Just went down to visit and feed leila at child care, i find myself staying there for almost an hour at lunch playing with her...kind of defeats the purpose of childcare doesnt it?!
anyway, best keep at the typing, have to give a paper next week (new uni, new people) and feeling kinda nervous (egad!)
Clare :))
-
pregpan - asha has had a few different things, generally for breakfast she has rafertys cereal and lately i am adding fruit puree to give it a bit more flavour and for lunch she was generally having yoghurt (adult jalna) or fruit in the mesh bag and a rusk, or fruit puree, shes tried alot of different things now and seems very keen and hungry but i worry about overfeeding her.. today she woke up late so missed breakfast and for lunch she had half a jar of an organic baby food i bought to flavour her cereal with because we didnt have anything in the fridge and she was hungry.. i find myself stuck for ideas in what to give her.. shes also tried a few diff vegies with a fair bit of success the only thing shes hates is carrot lol litterally gags on it!! is itok to give them cheese etc? i wasnt sure??
-
yeah i can recommend the rafferty's cereal. leila loves it, and it mixes well with fruit purees (and i find it's also pretty economical as far as premade stuff is concerned...).
i would love to get leila on the cheese although the last couple of attempts with dairy have given her a slight rash around the mouth, so i might wait a couple more weeks. Can we use just normal adult cheese?
-
good afternoon ladies
been ages since i've been on.
folks have been over and busy busy busy studying, working etc.
T has got two teeth now - middle bottom ones. she hasn't been too bad about it, just waking earlier than normal and sometimes in the middle of the night. i got some paint from w&c's hosp which she likes me using on her gums.
i will read up on the latest now.
speak soon!
-
Hey SupaB, how was the Tupperware party??? :D
I heard about the WCH paint while I was over there but didn't make it that far and apparently that's the only place you can get it after some dad dosed his child with it thinking it was panadol (!!!). I'd kill for some, apparently it is The Best Thing for teething.
BBL everyone, just wanted to catch Supa while she was online! :)
-
Supa B - oOooo T has got top and bottom teeth! Glad it wasnt too painful for her. Some bubs are having a real hard time with them. How is the studying going???
Noni - I wouldnt worry about over feeding Asha. OUr nurse told not to worry about over feeding Rory because if he couldnt handle it or it was too much he would spew it back up. He is never sick when we give him solids, he loves the stuff.
Clare - I wish my Dh would want a fancy highchair LOL.
Gracie - You have sold me on the ergo LOL! How is the clean up going in your area after the storm??
Pregpan _ whooa Noah is eating some lovely meals! He has a gourmet chef LOL! Im going to start cooking up Rory's meals and you have given me some great ideas! Thank you xoxox
I had a great afternoon at my friends house with her 1 year old son. Ive got a lovely creamy mushroom chicken cassreole cooking in the slow cooker for dinner tonight. I think im going to start cooking in the slow cooker more, it means I can get everything ready in the morning and have the meal ready in the evening with no fuss.
-
Renee I love my slow cooker and couldn't be without it.
Supa T must look adorable when she smiles with her bottom two teeth.
Noni I only give Logan 2 meals a day, I am in no hurry to give him more. I figure I will know when he is ready.
Clare and Gracie I have been pestering my DH for an Ergo and now you have well and truly sold me so I am blaming you both if DH gets cranky at me buying one lol.
Pregpan have a great weekend.
Cally did you manage to catch up on some sleep? Is K having solids?
Logan actually had his best sleep ever last night, he didn't wake until 7am, I couldn't believe it when I seen the time this morning. We didn't end up going to the bonds shop, I will go tomorrow. I am getting my hair cut for the first time in I don't know how long tomorrow. I am also getting my eyebrows waxed, last time my regular lady wasn't in and they completley butchered my brows I have had to wait for them to grow back in so I look pretty scary at the moment lol.
-
Hi everybody
Katie - we're having hot chooks, ham and salad. The easier the better these days lol. How was your night last night? eta - must have posted at the same time - what a great nights sleep you had!!
Cally - boy you did have a rough night. How are you feeling now? I bet you're exhausted. Hannah woke at 10 last night and i put her back down at 11:15pm. She woke at 4am and then everyone woke at 6:30. Wasn't too bad though.
Pregpan - I have watched Project runway in the past. I'm waiting for the new show. I love watching America's next top model too.
Hayley - how are Maddies' eyes today?
noni - i'll gather my info on the tissues salts and let you know. eta ( if you google Martin and Pleasance Tissue Salts and go to the FAQ, it will give some info (is a little tricky for me to explain lol.) re solids - i'm not stressing about them too much yet. I did read the article on infant led feeding, so i'm attempting to give Hannah a little more finger food. This morning i gave her some pear, - it was a slippery little sucker!!!!. She screwed her nose up big time , even though i've given her tinned pureed pears before. She chewed on the crust from my toast this morning and loved it. I'm worried that she'll choke on it though, so i watch very closely.
hi Supa :)
renee - cooking in the slow cooker sounds like a great idea. I know there is a slow cooker thread, but i haven't got my act together yet.
md - hope you find a comfortable sling - lots of people seem to really love the Ergo, and they look like they'd be comfortable.
hi to everyone else, hope you all have a lovely weekend.
-
jazmum - is it ok to give them things like toast?? ive wondered about that...
-
noni - i wouldn't have normally given her toast at this age, but she grabbed it off me, so i let her have a little nibble of the crust. I kept a close eye on her too.
-
fair enough then lol i wont go making asha toast for breaky then lol i find myself struggling for ideas though she has the same thing alot of the time...
-
Noni I give Logan toast, I started off just giving him the crusts as they are harder for him to break off but now I just cut little soldiers for him. I always sit next to him and watch him closely. If he puts to much in his mouth he tends to spit it back out.
-
katie - does he actually eat it?? has he got teeth? i forget lol.. do u give him white bread? we only have multigrain atm lol.. mmmm all an interesting thought!!
-
Well its so strange, Maddie's snotty eye cleared up within the day, so thank god it wasnt conjunctivitis. Thanks for asking.
Guess what girls...I had laser hair removal today, extended bikini. I was so nervous, thinking it was going to kill, but it was NOTHING. Very proud of myself hehe.
The funniest thing happened this morning. I had Maddie sitting in her entertainer/play station thing, while I put on a load of washing. I came back and she had found an old mesh bag that I had forgotten about from the day before, that still had pear in it. There she was munching away on old pear and loving it!! Its so amazing how fast they grow and start to know about things. Even she knows her cot now, sometimes when we start to walk towards it she cries as if to say dont put me down!!
Noni - I'd go with wholemeal bread, white bread is rubbish. Maddie only has two meals a day, weetbix for brekky and vege mash for tea, along with 4 bottles a day. I also worry about over feeding her and I struggle for meal ideas for her too. I'm taking a few of pregpans lol.
Renee - I have been meaning to buy a slow cooker, everyone seems to rave about them. Must get one this weekend.
Katie - I've been there with the butchered brows, its terrible! Some of these girls must be getting their beauty diploma out of a weeties box!! (as my mum would say) Wow you are brave with the toast, I'm going to be brave this weekend as well and give it a go.
Supa - Glad to hear the teethies came through with not much trouble.
Pregpan - Cauliflower and carrot sounds delish! Will be giving that one a go. Where do you get your ideas? Dont you dare say off the top of your head hehe.
Marydean - My HAB went straight back on ebay, could not get the hang of it at all. And to top it off I bought it coming into summer, and in Perth it would have just been way too hot. & These days Maddie is getting a bit too heavy for the baby bjorn let alone the HAB.
Clare - How are you finding study and looking after bub? Are you a FT student or PT? The stokke chair looks so stylish!
Gracie - Hello love hows the weather today!? Hope no more trees are blowing down! When is your photo shoot? Lucky you having and ergo.
Jazmum - I find pear given as a finger food is slippery as well. Maddie loves it though.
Hello to Sherie and anyone else I've missed, have a great weekend.
-
Noni I don't eat white bread, we either give him wholemeal or multigrain, just depends what we have at the time. He eats some but mostly just has a good time playing with it and sucking on it. He doesnt have any teeth yet so he just gums it.
Hayley I want laser hair removal too, was it expensive? I used to have this IPL ( I think thats what it was called) it is like laser hair removal but not permanent.
-
what do u put on it for him? just butter or some kind of spread?? i always have vegemite on my toast but idk how much she would like that lol..
-
morning everyone :)
not sure whether it was teeth, tummy ache or tiredness but last night Hannah was soo unsettled. She went to bed at about 6:30pm and woke again at 9 ish. She was squirming, throwing her head back and clawing at me. I gave her a spray of the Tissue salts stuff and she let a few fluffs off. I thought it may have been the bread she had yesterday, but surely she wouldn't have ingested enough?
I started the mini pill yesterday - i guess this could probably effect her too - but so soon? She has pooed 3 days in a row!!! - since she had her Bowen therapy - the therapist must have pushed the right buttons lol.
hayley - lucky you having the laser treatment (does this mean your leaving the 'no sex' club ? lol)
-
Katie - I had it done at hairfree. It costs $75 a go for extended bikini. You need about 7 - 10 treatments, and then a top up once a year, before summer. They cant promise that its permanent removal for some people, but it reduces it alot. My friend gets brazillian and has finished her treatments, and only has a few strays here and there.
Jazmum - Poor Hannah. Maddie was the same last night. I'm the same with you with wondering if its the solid food. Since we started she has been so unsettled at night, whereas before I'd put her down and that would be it. Leaving the no sex club hahahaha....maybe!
Poor Maddie is in the wars lately. She has woken with a green, snotty nose. Sorry if TMI. She is happy though. She is getting a pic at portrait place today lol. And I have woken with a sore throat ahhhh!!
-
Hayley, I've always wanted to get the hairy bears sorted out once and for all but I've never been game since I have thigh hangups (! from being called thunderthighs constantly by my MOTHER when I was a skinny lil teenager - don't even go there!). Anyway, it's a bit of a TMI question, but do they go right in and get the hairs on your inner thigh? What happens about your umm modesty?

Glad all my fellow yeti-women are coming out of the woodwork again! :cryinglaugh:
Noni - mmmm toast n vegemite, she's a happy little Aussie! :) We're not quite up to introducing wheat yet, bummer cos I'd love to give E some rusks. We're doing oats, and mango for the next couple of days, then some more veggies (sweet potato and potato), then she'll be 7 mo and I'll try some wheat. I've just been reading about SM-33 so I think we'll give that a go for her teeth, (I've never believed that bonjella works, based on my own experiences with it and wizzy teeth).
Jazmum & Cally, I hear you on the crazy nights, my sister kept telling me E had wind while we were there (on account of all the night time crying) but I'm not convinced. I still think it's teeth, combined with possibly some separation anxiety because Daddy suddenly disappeared for a week each time. At least I know it's not the food since she was like this before we started the solids. There was even controlled crying talk at our house last night (really it's beyond a joke now) but she's too little yet. I'm hoping she'll pop some teeth then go back to sleeping like she did with only 1 or 2 get ups every night (I can handle that alone)...if it gets closer to DH going away and she's still like this then it will have to be controlled crying or the sleep clinic, or I just won't cope. DH was practically delirious yesterday, he's been staying up and letting me sleep because I was sooo tired (he's like an automaton like that) but now it has taken its toll on him too.
Clare, meant to say re the cheese - perhaps try leila on yoghurt first for a couple of weeks, if she gets the rash with that you will know it's a dairy thing, and you can wait a month or two and then try again. The thing with cheese is, it's quite high in tasty food chemicals (amines) so the rash could be from that, instead.
Thanks all for your ergo comments, have convinced DH it's the way to go - now just shopping around for a MD bargain.
Gracie, I should've known you'd be in the thick of the batchelor watchers (I only ever watched the one with the tennis guy and thought it was Hee-larious)! I've not been watching much telly lately except for Doc Martin, Life Begins and *of course* Big Love...just saw two episodes I'd missed from the first series, man they were soooo good! Agree with the platinum, not sure it would help me be an effective single mother though LOL I'd be too tempted to stay at home all day everyday watching telly.

Marydean - Lol hairy bears! If you have bikini or extended bikini, you can keep your knickers on, and they get everything that isnt covered by your knickers iykwim. You can hike your knickers up a bit so that they take more than just the bikini. If you are getting the whole lot then you obviously have to go nakie! They make you feel so comfortable as well. It literally takes 2 minutes so you arent lying there in your knickers for very long. I dont like taking my knickers off for waxing etc. I had to once and lay there the whole time mortified lol. However, they have seen it all, you should so give it a go if you are interested. Its so easy I was so suprised and I'm just sorry that I hadnt started earlier.
Noni - Oh yay glad Asha enjoyed the toast. You have inspired me, I'm going to give Mads some toast this morning when she wakes from her nap.
