hello everyone
gosh theres alot to catch up on!!!
mothers day was nice.. we picked up Ashas professional photos on saturday and since they were $315 that and the tattoo were my mothers day present (i had said to dp earlier if u just let me buy the package that can be my present lol) he also bought me 3 nice silver frames for my A4 pics and hung them on the wall for me and he took his mum asha and i to hogs breath for dinner which was nice.. oh and he made me a really sweet card which is hard to explain but the front has a silver heart cut out on the front and mum cut out from purple paper and meanings from the thesuarus and dictionary cut out on what a mother and mothering is and it says all nice things like nurturing and caring lol so he can be sweet sometimes.. i will post the clothes on pic i have from ashas photo shoot when i am finished posting but i feel a bit funny putting the naked ones on the net...
arte and gracie - sorry to hear ur dh's were such party poopers dp would have got a hard slap and then ignored if that came from him
pregpan - we give arowroot biccies and toast and sandwiches, she like slices of cucumber when she is teething and pieces of my cheese and vegemite breadroll if i go to bakers delight apart from that we dont do many finger foods really.. oh and i made ur cheesy fish n vegies and asha likes it :) i am having trouble getting her to eat things that arent sweet at the moment so every recipe helps!!
jazmum and sherie - its so sweet that they chose their own gifts now!!!
md - sorry you had to wave off dh again grrr.. lol wonky shaped head hope she is ok now :)
leanne - congrats on the tooth Ashas second one just popped through today eeek no wonder she has been so cranky!!
haley - glad maddies enjoying her fruit.. Asha dosnt eat much plain fruit, she will kinda suck on a piece of i give it to her but it mostly all just slips out of her hand lol.. i put fruit in two of her meals every day though
clare - dont feel bad i am the same when i hear about other people getting pregnant its like congratulations!! but in my mind i am thinking ohhh gosh better you than me lol..
sorry if i missed anyone am off to post that pic for u all to see :)
-
sorry tried to upload the pic and it says its uploaded but its not there ??? dunno for those of u on facebook its on there otherwise i will try again later :)
-
*Snap* Pregpan, I'm a big chicken when it comes to finger foods as well. We've tried a couple of times but Bettybubs is such a little piggy she crams too much food in at once and gags every time . It's quite offputting. I don't remember being freaked out about it last time with H, either.
Arte that's a really good list of finger foods. Sorry you had a drear mother's day yesterday, I agree with Jazmum, one cuddle from W will tell you exactly what a wonderful mummy he thinks you are!
Gracie - wow you survived Sydney LOL. Eeew the chicken pox sounds awful, our old housemate got it when she was 18 and besides being very ill she was pockmarked for a good two years afterwards before they all healed over (she has quite dark skin so it was very obvious).
Clare, I agree a nanny sounds great - along with a housekeeper and a driver LOL. Oooh I was sooooo born to have servants. Will have to tweak my next reincarnation a bit better I think LOL.
Sherie mmmm blueberries. Reminds me there's an olive oil ad on the telly at the moment with a blueberry and vanilla cake and it looks rooolly yarmy. My DD1 likes frangipani scented things and choses them for me all the time (*insert gagging noise*) sorry I just really don't like it. I usually put some on in front of her and then go and wash it off later LOL.
Jazmum - what a lovely pressie, beats the lobster fridge magnet I got last year :cryinglaugh: and the golf umbrella a couple of years before that! I know what you mean about all the head clunking. My DH fell off the verandah (!) when he was 18 mths old (!!) and split his skull (!!!) and he's grown up ok (although we often joke that it could explain a lot of things...).
ETA - Noni I couldn't find your photos either. ?? Your DP sounds v. artistic, how nice is a home made card!!!
-
hey everyone..
we took asha to the drs yesterday and she has soo much snot (from teething i assume because its all clear) that her throat is irritated and she has a cough just from all the snot lol.. poor thing feels like she has the flue without actually having it.. was gonna go and get some natural cold relief but she dosnt actually have a cold so i am not really sure what to do..
also... when the dr listened to ashas heart yesterday he found a murmer.. he said its harmless but i am freaking out because of her heart troubles druing pregnancy and labour.. that and the fact that he listens to her heart every time we go in and hes only just picked it up.. he said it needs to be gone by 12 mths but idk what happens if its not.. i am terrified!!
md - idk what happened with the photo if u search for me on facebook u'll be able to see it otherwise maybe in a few days i will have 5 copies of the pic in my gallery because they all uploaded but just didnt show straight away lol... the card nearly made me cry lol the fact he went to that much effort.. he said to me i am a bit embarassed to give it to u now coz its not very good lol followed by but its ashas first home made card so dont hold it against her hahahaha..

Morning Girls,
OMG Olivia's Other tooth is now coming though.. I am so happy as she is just like jordy when he was getting teeth... Xavier was a shocker with really bad temps everytime he was getting a tooth. Wooo HOoo Livvie....
Finger Food: Olivia loves scotch fingers, Lamb cutlets, toast, ruskee's and well Olivia loves all food.
Art::hug: Oh I love your finger food list
Pregpan: how is N today. Hope he is bettter.
Noni- Poor Asha. I hope her nose clears up. Sorry to hear about her heart murmer have you spoken to a paeditrician.
Gracie- Sounds like you had a great time in Sydney
Hayley- Glad you had a wonderful mothers day
Jazmum- H sounds like she had a good sleep
-
morning everyone
well DH left this morning - had a little cry to myself bc i will miss him so much... but i am getting on with it all now... and at least time is ticking now til he gets back... noah is off at care and i am at work... (oin here LOL!!). Noah seems to be doing a lot better now - he had a ghood sleep last night - woke at 1130 and 4.30 for a feed and that was it. so i am happy so far!!! he is back on his food, not as good as before but getting there - i think finger foods are the key here as he seems so sick of puree - i gave him roast veges for dinner last night and he loved it and then an arrowroot biccie - yummo! this morning he had a little fruit puree and then half a cruskit - i am impressed with him and with myself doing this. i also packed a mix of puree and a container of roast veg for FDC today, as he is happier that way!! thanks for all the tips - esp Arte - you are my finger food champ and I will be taking your lead. wil do pasta tonight and may pop out and buy some othert things he can have - he cant live off biccies alone LOL!!!
Noni - sounds like you won the mothers day of the yr award!!!! must feel great to be so apprecviated and your DP sounds sweet - i guess this shows when he is dismissive of your current feelings re coping etc that it is that he doesnt know how to deal with it??? and he is showing you how much he appreciates and loves and admires you. Enjoy!!! Now, did you get a tatoo? did i miss this?? what is it??
Gracie - glad you had a fab time in syd, we didnt end up going bc Noah wasunwell. Cant wait to see the hair cut! And glad the travel tips came in handy... a benefit of my hectic lifestyle!!
Hi to everyone else - expect to see a lot of me in the next few days!!! will try to keep whingeing to a minimum!!!
Leeann - thanks for asking - N is so much better - I hope this lasts!! Question - how do you give the lamb chops to o? I have some in the freezer and someone else told me to give them but how????
-
Pregpan- I am so glad N is better- re the lamb cutlet I just cut most the meat off and giver her the bone with only a little meat on it. she loves chewing on the bone. As she gets older I leave more meat on. I did the same with the boys too. I think they are great cause the bone is big enough for them to hold on too.
Have a wonderful day mummies
-
Thanks for the boost the other day, I know I am a good mummy even if DH doesn't think it is worth saying.
Noni, sounds like you hit the mothers day jackpot! How was your baby free day the other day?
Pregpan, did you solve N's overnight wetting problem?
MD, thanks for the BF pep talk the other day. I spent a few days trying to add extra feeds and I seem to have more milk again now. I was getting quite worried because he would try to feed to go to sleep and would empty one side (and bite) then the other side (and bite more) and still be awake when usually there is enough in one side to get him to sleep. LOL about E shoveling food into her mouth - one of the dinner time mottos here is 'we still have to chew even when it is yummy' because if he really likes something he crams it all in at once.
Haley, I am with the others on getting vaccinated for chicken pox. A girl I played with when I was little wasn't vaccinated (I can respect an informed decision not to vaccinate but the mother was just lazy) and she spent nearly two weeks in ICU and nearly died from it.
Gracie, how is your doggie doing with Lewis? My old girl is doing so well, I looked over today and W had shuffled his way over to her and was playing drums on her rib cage but she didn't seem to mind lol
I went to playcenter today, W loves it there even thought it is his nap time he manages pretty well. He loves to walk around carrying different toys and squealing lol
He kept touching me with freezing fingers when he is feeding and I went eeeeeee in a high pitched voice. He thought it was the funniest sound ever but now he can do it himself so he keeps squealing like a wounded dolphin now.
I think Will is having a growth spurt, all of a sudden the last few days he is actually eating a fair bit of his food and he has added a couple of BF and is drinking for a few minutes at a time rather than his usual 30 second snacks.
-
Happy belated Mother's Day to everyone!! I got a box of chocolates and a card that was just lovely, telling me what a wonderful mum I am. Made me cry. And then DH organised with my mum to babysit in the afternoon and we went and saw Made of Honour. Was lovely to get out and go to the movies but I did have to pull my phone out and check the time halfway through!!
DD is constipated again. So today she is having pears and prune juice. I think we are going to give all the iron fortified cereals a miss for a while and just stick with weetbix for brekky. She had so much to eat yesterday and slept until 3:30 last night and then until 7:30. So I don't know whether to think she is hungry when she's waking or she's not as it keeps changing!
Leanne - yay for Olivia's tooth!!
Noni - sounds like you had a great mothers day. Hope Asha is feeling better
Hayley - if they are constipated they recommend giving banana a break. Glad the prune juice worked for you, I've mixed it with a few things but we're still waiting for some action!
Pregpan - All we have done with finger food so far is banana, avocado and rusks! There are some roast vegies from last night's dinner in the fridge so we might have a crack at them later (if she poos!) Also will try toast soon.
MD - Shame that DH is away again, hope Thursday goes well at FDC.
DH is applying for a scholarship that would involve 5 weeks overseas! He wouldn't be going until the end of the year or April next year. That is a long time away, would have to get mum down for a couple of visits to give me a hand. Would be nice to go with him, but I think a bit hard with DD as he will be 'working' while he is over there so it would just be us girls during the day.
Sherie - is the body butter in a glass jar that could 'accidentally' drop and be broken?? I know what you mean about not using it, I always seem to get presents like that and they sit in the cupboard for a while before I pass them on to my sister. I've got my regular creams and potions and don't stray from them!
Arte - what is Feijoa?
Kind of glad my parents are gone now, the last two nights I have really struggled to get back to sleep after feeding K, is nice to know that the spare bed is available if DH is too noisy or close.
-
Atre - yes I did solve the night wetting prob and N will kill me for this when he is older but the solution was to use girls nappies!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i use a girl nappy in the night, as i noticed he was wetting at the front... has not happened since LOL!!! we still use boys in thge day time so he stillfeels like a man!!! hilarious hey! and i think you are a WONDERFUL mum, i love hearing how you do things with W.
Leeanne - you have inspired me and Noah is having a lamb chop for dinner tonight. i cant wait to see him attack it!
Cally - your mothers day sounds FAB! I saw that movie with Dh last weekend, we had a 'date' - i didnt love it but it was ok.
Gracie and Jaz - are you glad Susan left bachelor? i liked her at the start but thought she was so fake by the end!
-
Cally, Feijoas are a fruit. They are in season now and are very yummy. I never saw many in Aust, I don't think they are very popular there but are commonly grown where I grew up. I am working my way through a 2kg bag of them. They are green on the outside and have a white flesh that you scoop out with a spoon. Yum Yum.
Good luck to your DH for his scholarship, sounds very exciting.
-
Pregpan - glad the wetting through problem has been solved. We have the same problem here, but we already use girls nappies!! I notice it happens when she is asleep on her tummy rather than her back. This morning the front of her 2.5 tog sleeping bag was wet about the size of my palm! Mmm, the movie was OK, but certainly not a classic! But I'm not into realy deep and meaningful movies anyway.
Arte - ah, a fruit. Thanks for solving that query.
Those with tupperware snack cups, what volume are they? Don't have any here but would be interested to how they compare to the amount K is eating.
Well DD is awake, better go.

Hello everyone!
Well having a v interesting day today, took E to see an Osteopath and it was soooo interesting. The consult took >an hour and he was very interested to hear all about her clicky shoulders, torticollis, reflux and not sleeping. Anyway, he identified a few little things, an area of her neck that is compressed, a couple of ribs that are sitting a little further back than they should and a tightness in her middle (which related some how to some ligaments involving the gall bladder...? He sort of lost me there) but it all points directly to R-E-F-L-U-X (!!!) He also said in the osteopathy world there has long been an association between CS and reflux on account of the way the main artery in the umbilicus contracts then tightens when the cord is cut so soon at birth. So I'm just haaaaaanging out now to see whether we get an improvement. She's got another session booked next week, and it might take a couple more sessions after that but then he won't see her again until she's walking (cos the bottom-bumps they do once they're walking can re-compress the spine again, apparently). Will let you all know how it goes. Was also v interested to hear he does a lot of work with auditory processing (on account of the effect the ligaments/muscles in the neck/head have on the timpanium and the strain they place on the small bones in the ear). So once I've recovered from the financial blow of these consultations I'll be looking at taking DD1 along too.
Cally, oh hun just go overseas with your DH(!!) There's always weekends and a couple of extra weeks tacked on the end where you can all go roaming together. Do it now when you only have the one bubba!!
Pregpan - for you with your DH going away. It's never easy, and the sad thing is the closer your relationship is the harder it is when they are away. PM me if you need some distraction in the form of a coffee together! :)
Noni - Aaaaw the story of your DH's card is sooo sweet. That's just priceless hun.
Arte, I'm glad you've seen your supply come up, it sounds like he's having a growth spurt anyway. Feeding from both BBs when you normally only give one should build your supply over a few days anyway. The biting part is not fun. Another GF told me yesterday she has horrible pain feeding when her DS is teething but we were talking about something else so I forgot to ask if it's because he bites or from the saliva or whether the new teeth get in the way. I've had some horrible horrible ouchies (I abandoned a feed outright the other night, just couldn't cope) with E and it's when she's teething. LOL at "we still have to chew even when it's yummy"
BTW the chickenpox vacc has only been avail for 8-9 years so perhaps that was measles, mumps or rubella that your little friend had? Sometimes chickenpox is that severe as well, but she couldn't have been vacc'd back then to prevent it. I was really ill with it as a child too.
-
Cally, I just measured it and they are 2/3cup - more than I thought they were actually.
Noni, don't stress about the heart murmur - all it refers to is the sound the blood makes as it is pumped through the heart - like a wooshing sound and totally harmless. Babies and Children can often get them when they are ill - like she is ATM and they will go away on their own. You would know if it were a serious one as she would look blue around the mouth and skin etc from lack of oxygenated blood. Erin had one because she was born with a small hole in her heart but its gone now and never caused a problem.
Pregpan, glad Noah is better now.
Sorry for lack of personals - been out again today and had another crappy night and I just can't think straight LOL.
Oh, Marydean, I had to do that for Erin too LOL. They are in plastic tubs, so I can't break it.
-
Re tupperware snack cups, filled to the brim they are about 160ml, filled to approx full (with room at the top) they are about 1/2 a cup. Half full is close to 1/4 of a cup.
ETA - Noni, really don't stress about the heart murmur. DD1 has one and it wasn't even diagnosed until she was 7 yo!! Often the heart grows and it fixes itself as your baby grows, if not it's just something they keep an eye on every few years (ultrasound) and you have to give them ABs before they have dental work or any surgery (even stitches, etc). If it was serious the drs would definitely have noticed it before now. I'm going to take DD1 back to the cardiologist soon because she's just told me she always comes last at running in school and that never used to be the case.
-
hello everyone
can i ask please, where has the photo gallery gone from under everyone's stats? i was going to chuck a couple of pics in there
pregpan- ummm, i'm not too sure about susan leaving the bachelor, i kinda liked her. she's very attractive. i just think that sarah is kinda boring and moana is a bit of a bunny boiler
i thought of you when i was on the plane- you're such a jetsetter!
cally- what country would dh go to for his scholarship? do you want him to get it or would you rather he didn't?
arte- lewis is in love with my dog! he tries to talk to her and squeals when she comes near him. the other day she was lying at the foot of my bed and lewis rolled right off the bed and landed on her like she was a big pillow. i was horrified but she just lay there with him lying on her, it was kinda cute. glad to hear your dog is happy to be annoyed as well!
well dp and i have been discussing it a lot lately and we've decided that i will most likely not return to work next year at all (was supposed to return in january 2009) and will ttc again instead. we're planning on having two kids in our family so we've decided to have them close together and get it out of the way iykwim? that way we won't need to worry about childcare for the next couple of years at least and then i will plan to return to work 3 days a week later on. i'm kind of excited about it, even though i know it will be hectic for a few years but then i think it will be quite good once the kids are both at school. what do the rest of you plan to do? are you going to have more soon or wait a while? (except those of you whose husbands have been to the vet of course! lol)
md- the osteopath sounds very interesting- you'll ahve to keep us updated on how it all goes. i need to ask you for some author recommendations, i've got no books atm and am planning on going to library this week. i just want some light, easy to get into, reading whilst i'm breastfeeding kinda stuff. just finished reading a joanna trollope....can you recommend anything?
-
Gracie and Arte, our old dog was just like that, happy as larry no matter what DD1 did to her! LOL Gotta keep an eye out on Fluffychops tho. He's a bit unsure of the whole baby thing. Though he's quite happy to get up and move if E comes over to where he's at.
Gracie - how exciting about your TTC plans ! Delaying your return to work sounds v.enticing. I'm soooooooo not motivated to go back to mine. Not feeling the $$$ pinch hard enough yet! Plus they've already told me that if I only go back a couple of days I won't get my old position's duties, and might have to do the cataloguing (eeew). I'd love to linger at home and return to work a bit later on instead.
-
Gracie how exciting!!!! we may be preg again at the same time as i think we will ttc when N is 1. i also want at least 2 kids, maybemore, so i need to get them banged out!!! ha ha. also being here is not the most wonderful thing for my career so i think it is good timing. plus i am already clucky and missing the 'newborn' phase. that said it took me 12 months to get preg with N and no sign of AF here so it may take ages again!!! i hope not though!
-
md- when do you think you'll go back to work? cataloguing sounds sucky!
pregpan- yah i'd love us to be pg at the same time again! yeah i think we'll prob have trouble ttc as well as i've only had 2 afs since lewis was born. oh well, we'll see how we go i suppose!
-
gracie - i have had NO AF since N was born!!!! while that is soooo good in some ways... i know i will be upset about it in a few months. it is part of the reason i thought i may cut back bfeeding...
-
ughhhh tough day here!! asha dosnt wanna eat anything thats not sweet lol thats her new thing and boy does it drive me mad!!! my heads not in it either i was like asha if u eat this mummy will give u custard lol shes 7 1/2mths old ffs lol... anyway she just keeps winging idk if its teeth her tummy or what no idea but shes not a happy camper.. wont drink her bottle now either ughhhhh...
pregpan - theres a pic of my tat in my gallery it says asha..
gracie - wow ttc how exciting!!! not sure what we are going to do.. i know atm we are waiting coz we dnt even have a house lol really depends where we are financially i think atm we cant afford another baby so we dont think about it iykwim?
md - very interesting re the osteopath am keen to hear how it all goes.. wow that does make me feel better 7yo gee.. hope the running thing is unrelated and everything turns out ok:)
sherie - thanks for that i do recall the dr saying something similar i think i was just in a panic and didnt listen exactly lol
pregpan - lmao girls nappies soo cute that u still use the boy ones during the day so he feels like a man lol..
gosh this post is taking so long because asha keeps wiiiinging!!! sorry anyone i missed will try come back later
-
pregpan- yeah i know what you mean about the no af thing. i had one last week and it was a killer! i put on 1.5kgs (bloating and chocolate eating) and felt like crap! had to miss lewis' swimming class cos it was so heavy. i'm hoping it becomes more regular as lewis gets more into solids.
noni- did you end up not getting that house you went for? how annoying. i want to see your tatt but i can't see peoples gallery anymore
-
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY (sorry its late)
Gracie - Whooohoooo!! How exciting, a little brother or sister for Lewis! :) I bet its so nice to have a plan/direction you both agree on! Ive been trying to get some direction out of DH but I havent had luck so far. I dont mind if we start TTC in 6 months or a few years I just want some idea :)
MD - Sounds like you got some answers from your Osteopath visit, EXCELLENT! Its all very interesting isnt it? Is there anything you can do for E at home for her reflux? LOL DH bought me frangipanni body wash for mothers day HAHA!
Cally - Sounds like you had a great mothers day :) Was the movie any good?? I hope Katie's constipation clears up, poor pumpkin! Have you tried Noni's trick?? Where will your DH be going? Have you completely ruled out going with him?
Art - Your a fantastic mummy!!! Will is going so well with his foods isnt he. I wish Rory would eat as well as W. He is moving around so much too, what a little champ!
Pregpan - Give N some gingernut biscuit, very messy but very yummy! They are very hard and they cant break bits off. Rory just sucks on them haha. I am paranoid too about Rory choking and it doesnt help that he chokes ON EVERY lump LOL! I hope your going okay without your DH, im sure you are. Its just those first few moments alone that are hard. When will he be back??
Leemar - Im glad Olivia is dealing with her new toothy peg so well :) I saw your photo you uploaded last week, I cant beleive how big Olivia is!!!! Gosh they are growing up so quick arent they!
Noni - Poor Asha, she is having a terrible run at the moment. The girls have given you some reassuring advice regarding Asha heart murmur, I hope your feeling better about it all hon. Im glad you had a lovely mothers day, you got spoilt!!
Sherie - I had a giggle at your TWO pots of blueberry bodybutter LOL :) Atleast you wont run out for a long time. Im suprised you didnt spy it under your bed LOL! Hows your tooth going??
I had a great mothers day. DH on behalf of Rory made me breakfast in bed and he bought me a bunch of Napoleon make up. We then had a roast at my mums. We came home, put ROry down for a nap and had a few drinks together and Mcdonalds LOL!
I have a new DH, im not sure where the old one went but I like my new model haha.He is being so wonderful and he has realised what he was doing wrong and is working really hard on making things right. I havent felt this happy in a long time.
Im at work at the moment, I just cant get motivated! Buggalugs is with my MIL getting spoilt no doubt!
Rory went to bed at 7:00pm last night and was up SCREAMING at 8:00pm. When I picked him up he was all floppy like a new born. I wouldnt focus on me, it was like he was blind and couldnt see me. It took us a good 15 min to settle him down, he was sooooo upset. I think he had a night terror and when I picked him up he was still asleep. Poor darling. He slept through until 6:30am once I put him down.
-
renee- i'm glad you got a new dh LOL where do i get one of those from? ooohh i love napoleon you lucky thing!
-
DH would be going to UK - good idea about taking a couple of weeks afterwards to travel together. All depends if he gets it of course!!
Renee - yay for the new DH!! I'm not brave enough to try Noni's trick with the baby oil! We've had a couple of poos this afternoon and the last one was definitely a lot softer and came out with less fuss. She was getting tears yesterday from the pushing and nothing was coming out!
MD - Osteopath sounds very interesting, can't wait to hear what happens with E's sleeping after a couple of visits!
Gracie - that's great you've decided when to start ttc. We haven't really talked about it, but the general consensus is more 'if' than 'when'. I think I might need a bit more time to recover and catch up on sleep before I contemplate it again!
Pregpan - I've had no AF here either. Can't say I mind though!
-
just a quick one from me - thanks Leeanne for the chop tips - i gave him one tonight and he LOVED it!!!! soooooooooo cute. i didnt leave much meat on at all, will slowly leave more i guess... have a good night everyone.
-
Hello all,
Had a couple of bad nights in a row, W woke up every 1-2 hr screaming and crying but he closed his eyes so it looked like he was sleeping but having some kind of nightmares. Keep tossing and turning all night long and really hard to settle, even the magic boobs dont seem to be that magical lol
I am not quite sure whats happening.
Happy mothers day again. Didnt do anything special and DH didnt get me anything. Mind you, he got himself a new mobile last Saturday ;(
Oh I did get a keyring from childcare with W's photo on it. Its a cheapy plastic keyring and the photo is a bit blurry but I really love it.
Leanne, yay on the tooth. Thanks for the lamb tips, might give that a go
MD, sorry to hear about the fall, poor E. The osteopath visit sounds really interesting, hope you can see some improvement soon.
Arte, thanks for the finger food list, great one! And also want to say you're a great mum indeed
Pregpan, we did start with finger food coz he didnt like puree at the beginning. But he choked when I gave him some apple, scared me to death seeing his face turned red and coughed. Glad Noah is better. LOL at the girls nappy
Jazmum, W is starting to get clingy too, I am wondering about separation anxiety, do you know when does it usually start.
Hayley, glad the prune juice work. Milk + prune juice hhmmm I wonder how it tastes ;)
Noni, your dh sounds so lovely
Cally, sounds like you had a fab mothers day. Definitely go with your dh, you can wonder around the city/country and do some shopping with K during the day.
Sherie, how is your day. Hope you can get some rest tonight
Gracie, how exciting! I reckon babies are addictive, before I thought we will ttc when he is at least 3yrs old but now I am thinking probably next year lol
Renee, W is also screaming while sleeping, so strange. How nice of you to get a wonderful new dh. Mine comes with no return policy lol
Hi to everyone else
-
Cally, go with him! Things like that don't come along every day. Do you know why K is getting constipated? I thought BF babies didn't - or does that not apply after they start solids? I noticed that W was getting a bit more solid when he was eating heaps of banana, that is when I started giving him the sundried prunes.
Aglinra, hope that W stops the night screaming soon. Must be horrible.
MD, the osteopath sounds very interesting. I hope it has good results for you. My stepfather is into natural healing and knows all about that sort of thing, it is quite handy. You are right about the chicken pox vaccine, it isn't even on the schedule here. It was definitely the pox because I had them at the same time, she must have been one of the unlucky ones that make up the statistics for bad outcomes.
Pregpan, LOL at the girls nappies! DH accidently got girls ones when W was about 6 weeks old and it was embarrassing going to the dr for his check-up with the wrong coloured nappies on, like I didn't know the sex of my kid lol
Gracie, cute about L falling on your dog! Yay for having a date for #2. We haven't really decided on a time frame but I would like a two year gap which means we would have to try before the end of the year. DH doesn't seem to mind, we haven't been using any contraceptives but I don't have AF back anyway.
Renee, poor Rory with the night terror. I wonder what a little bub can have a terror about? Good to hear that things are back on track with your DH, it makes life a lot better.
Not much going on here, DH is still at work (it is 9.30pm). I have just put W to bed and realised I haven't had dinner yet. I put stuff in the slow cooker too late and it takes ages (I should have guessed from the name LOL), my mum got it for me for my birthday. W had peanut butter sandwiches, he thought it was quite funny how it stuck to the top of his mouth lol

Just a quick one girls before my favourite tv show, ladette to lady LMAO!
Cally - Wow go your DH, hope he gets the scholarship! I think you should go along too!
Arte - Sundried prunes sound yum, might give them a go. Your list of finger foods is very extensive! Hehe had to laugh at your DH buying the wrong nappies, as I did the same. I had no idea that after newborns they had girls and boys nappies!
Gracie - I laughed at Lewis falling flat onto the dog, I could just picture it! I'm really excited for you ttc early next yr. We really dont know when we will try again, I'd love Maddie to be at least 2 but 3 or 4 would be much more appealing to me. DP has other ideas, he would love to make baby number two by early next yr. In just feel so young still and want to live a bit more before number 2, we have plenty of time yet. Besides I'm still recovering from child birth and I'm still not brave enough to go there again lol.
Agnes - Suprisingly the prune juice and milk wasnt too bad, yes I tried it before!! The key ring is such a nice idea!
Renee - So glad your DH is a 'new man'! & I'm happy that you had a nice mothers day, sounds like you got spoilt rotten. :)
Noni - Far out I got worried when I read about Asha's murmur, but after reading comments from the others I relaxed. Good to know it isnt too serious, and sounds quite common.
Leanne - I think I'll use your chop tip as well, I'm going to slowly start introducing meat b but its going to be hard for me as I dont eat red meat. Wow glad the toothie is through!!
Sherie - Hope you get a decent nights sleep tonight.
Pregpan - Re: the girls nappies, whatever works I say! ;)
MD - The info that the osteopath provided you with sounds very interesting. I hope this is it!?
Must go ladette to lady will be on any second...what a bunch of slappers they are lol
-
hi all - my little man threw up again this morning - it was when he was havig bfast and i think he gagged on his weetbix (he hates bfast i think)... i hope thats what it was and he isnt still unwell... i am a bit worried but he is at FDC and she will watch him. he is the only one there today which is great!
Hayley - i watched ladette to lady when it was on foxtel - i am a trash tv addict!!! such slappers you are right!!
Noni - i also wanted to say re the murmur not to worry - they are v common. my dh also has one and it has never beena prob for him, it is just important to know she has one for things like dental work etc
ok better go get started on my work... but i will be on and off all day xxx

Poo!! Turns out with the new budget we wont be getting the baby bonus next time! I wonder if I call Rudd and tell him that close to half our weekly wage goes on our MORTGAGE that he will make an exception for us HAH!!
ETA: Actually I dont know if we are getting it or not, its too bl00dy confusing! im going back to bed LOL!
Eta: Nope we are not getting it!

Well, another wakeful night yesterday. I dont know whats causing the screaming and crying but he just wouldnt settled. Nothing I did work, even though we cosleep. I tried patting singing and offering milk. At the end I just gave him a cuddle and waited for it to pass.
MD, forgot to say, thanks for the reassurance on solid. He is still not keen on food (still one meal per day of only a couple of spoon, so really little compared to the other babies here) but as you said maybe he is just not ready for lots of food yet. One step at a time I guess, for now I am really happy if he drinks all his milk at daycare. GL for FDC tomorrow, let us know how you go
Pregpan & Cally, no sign of AF here either
Arte, with the finger food, how much does Will usually eat? I found my W only tasting and just eating a really tiny bit. Lol at the slow cooker thing, I've bought one too but still waiting for it to be delivered.
Hayley, I only saw ladette to lady once lol
Pregpan, happy 8 months old for Noah. Cant believe how quickly our baby grows.
Hope Noah feels better soon. Great that he is the only one at FDC, as if you have a private nanny lol
Have a nice day everyone!
-
Hi Girls,
Prepan- Poor Noah. Did he enjoy his lamb cutlets last night.
Renee- Wow a new DH you lucky girl. I am so happy for you. How did Rory go last night?
Agnes- How did W Go last night. I hope everyone got a good night sleep.
Well I better go the phone is ringing..
-
Renee, posting at the same time.
Oh no, I havent seen that news :( There goes the nappies, toys, cot, stroller, etc etc etc. Same here with the mortgage !!!
ETA Hi Leanne. It didnt go well here last night. But hope you had a decent sleep at your end.
-
No night terrors thank goodness! It took me a while to get him off to sleep because he was over tired (thanx to playing ALL day with his nanna and only having ONE day nap) but once he went down he slept from 7:00pm - 7:00am when I had to wake him up because I could smell his GIANT pooey nappy from my room LOL!
Must of been that baby juice Dwayne was feeding him last night. MIL bought him a 6-pack of baby juice and he LOVES it. He wont drink it out of a bottle or a sippy cup, he will drink it straight from the glass jar all by himself (with DH holding the bottom).
THE MCHN told us not to give it to him because they are full of sugar etc but my god he enjoyed every drop! And considering he wont drink water or drink his milk atm I was happy to get some fluid into his belly :)
-
Renee - lol at the giant pooey nappy smell!!
Re baby bonus, it's based on earnings in the 6 months AFTER bubs is born, so if you and DP earn more than $75k in that time (the six months), then you don't get it.
Agnes - could there be more teeth on the way? Poor little thing, its so sad when nothing seems to make them feel better.
Pregpan - yay for the only one at FDC!! That would be great.
Arte - I think the constipation is just from the changes to her diet. BM is so easy to digest and all of a sudden she is eating fruit, vegies and other things that need a bit more work. I'm giving up on the iron fortifed cereals for a while to see how she goes as I wouldn't be surprised if they were related to it.
Back to bed already for her second nap of the day! She only slept for 30 minutes this morning and she had a pretty unsettled start to the night last night so she really needs to make up some lost sleep today.
-
Agnes- Maybe its growing pains or teeth. Sending W sleeping Vibes.
Renee- Glad Rory was better last night.
-
hi everyone
yep it looks like we wont get the baby bonus next time around either... bummer....
well i called fdc and he seems to be ok today, so maybehe just gagged on his weetbix?? who knows. i am a bit worried about him but i guess as he has no temp and no other symptoms i know what the dr would say if i brought him back in (for the 3rd time)...
Leeanne - he LOVED the lamb chop. if heis up to it i will give him another one tonight!
Renee - LOL atthe smelly nappy. N seems to have just learnt how to poo in his sleep o rlying down, he never used to but now he does momst mornings!
Agnes- so sorry W had another bad night.
-
hey everyone
asha has been so naughty lol refusing to eat things that arent sweet and yesterday she had a grand total of two bottles eeep.. shes also extremely windy and irritable id say it was something i am feeding her but she dosnt eat the same thing every day...
renee - ive heard that about baby juice too but was considering it due to ashas fluid intake too.. she also is reluctant to drink from a cup grrr shes becoming very difficult!! maybe if i out her formula in a glass she would drink it lolshes quite fond of drinking from a glass or normal cup..
pregpan - thats so good hes the only one there imagine all the attention he is getting!!
haley - i love that show ladette to lady its hilarious!!
cally - hope katie has a good nap and catches up on her sleep
agnes -something in the air?? asha is like that atm too with her sleeping
i hope i dont offend anyone here but i think if people are earning over 150k they dont really NEED the baby bonus (i watched the budget it said people who earn over 150k a year will not be eligable for family tax benefit or the baby bonus if i am wrong let me know coz thats what i am basing what i said on). i do understand hat everyone circumstances are different re mortgages and bills etc but although ownig a house is important to many people this is something u choose to take on.. anyway please dont be offended just my opinion... anyway on that note i think i will go please dont hate me eeek!!
-
Noni, I am with you on the baby bonus thing - if people can't afford to live on $150k then they need to take a hard look at their lifestyle and spending habits.
Agnes, W was only eating a little bit of his finger food for ages, then in the last few days he has been eating heaps. He was just having lunch and tea but this morning he threw a wobbly when he saw a mandarin on the table so I think we have to have breakfast now too. My W is having bad nights too, he grizzles and will only sleep with boob in his mouth which is very uncomfortable and I am getting almost no sleep. Have you started any new foods that could be upsetting his tum? How long before bed does he have dinner?
Renee, gross about the poo smell wafting to your room! So far nappies haven't been as bad as I was expecting.
I think W might start crawling soon. He keeps going up on hands and feet, today he managed to step with his feet but forgot to move his hands and nose-dived lol. I thought he would walk first but he is not quite there yet, just doing a couple of steps by himself but not what I would consider walking.
