    Hi Yummy Mummies
Well thanks for all the reassurance yesterday - was feeling a bit down on myself - and i think sickness always seems worse at night etc so i was worried about him. But I know now it is just one of those things and he will get through it all and be fine... the 1st winter and in day care i guess i should have expected the worst!! he slept better last night - not great but better - and he is def better today than he was yesterday. I am off to melb tomorrow so mum can help me and it will be better i think. Anyway thanks you all made me feel a lot better!!
Sherie - so glad the ear is better - sounded awful!!! have a fun day faffing around. i have so many errands to do tonight after work and n in bed ot get ready to go... my house is a pig sty!!

Noni, Lindsay hated loud noises and it still bothers him a little bit even now. He would freak out bigtime at the vacuum and god help us if we took him to a tractor pull or the races or something else really loud. He is only just able to deal with being near the machinery around here when it is started. Some kids are just more sensitive to noise than others.

Pregpan, glad N had a better night. And yep, sick children always seem a bit worse at night, especially when it is cold. Definately let your Mum take care of YOU a bit too.

Marydean, I did Bigpond movies once during the summer holidays last year and it was great - order them and they post them out. I was sneaky though and signed up during a 6wk free trial and then cancelled it at the end of the holidays. So the kids got to see all the latest movies for nothing and kept me sane when it was too hot for them to go outside LOL.

Noni, W doesn't seem to be scared of loud noises but he is getting shy around strangers atm. Don't feel bad about the portacot thing, that is what they are made for so I guess loads of people do it. If she is happy in there then it is all good.

Cally, my DH gets asthma too. It is a PITA. He always runs out of inhaler and keeps me awake at night. He has been better lately though, he needs it quite a bit here because it is cold. Hope he is feeling better.

Sherie, I am like MD, putting off all the domestic stuff as long as I can lol. Hope you find something constructive to do with your time

MM, how is Maddie? Could the rash be hives? Has she had anything new to eat or have you changed washing powder?

Clare, hope those teeth come up soon for L. Bummer about Stella. Did you end up getting a behaviourist re the snapping?

The doctor went well (besides the hour long wait). He is completely healthy but the doctor pointed out some eczema on his face that I didn't even notice lol It is a bit rough and bumpy but I thought it was something to do with his red teething cheeks. The builders aren't here today so thankfully he is getting his good big sleep after playcenter.

Noni, I remember being very sensitive to loud noises when I was a child, my ears would literally hurt (it was not a fear thing but a pain thing). So maybe A has very sensitive ears as well!

Arte, did the dr give you some cream or just tell you to use some moisturiser on it? I kwym about the builders, I hate it when the repairman comes, I hate having strangers in my space. The noise factor makes it a zillion times worse. Are you settling into the local social scene now?

Trill, I have looked at the price and it really doesn't seem very much (if I understand it right) given you can pay a fortune for overnight use only at the video shop and even then the one you want is usually all out!

    Hello Girls!

Wow it's been busy on here today! i always miss heaps on the day i have mum's group!!

Noni: man, i have to say that i really appreciate the days that i HAVE with leila AND the days that she is at CC! it gives me a chance to enjoy the time i have with her more and the time she is away is time for me. DH and I use one friday a fortnight when is in care for 'couple day'. we go to the movies, have a bath and basically just lounge around. i love it and i think it is great for leila as she has refreshed parents for the W/E IYKWIM?
also re the loud noises some of the mums just today were mentioning that their bubs were starting to be 'scared' of loud stuff and would scream hysterically. maybe it's an age thing?

Pregpan: glad to hear the little Noah is on the mend. i hear you the nights being the worst! at least during the day we have the distraction of activities but at night and with the cold setting in, everything is exacerbated. i know that this week that i have been sick i dreaded the nights as my throat hurt more and exhaustion would just set in.
And for what it's worth, i just bought leila some brauer 'recovery tonic' to help boost her system as she has been hit with a swag of boogies and germs. maybe N could try something like that to help his system recover???

Arte: yeah i am hoping they dont take too long. both the bottom ones are competing to come through first. they are almost there...just bought some weleda teething powder and that seems to have calmed things down a bit.
we are still waiting on a spot with the behaviour guy. he specialises in the breed (maremma) that we are pretty sure stella is a cross with. but i went to the vet (for her cough yesterday) and there are group activity sessions in the local park for the doggies, and i think that it may be fun for her and get her more used to strange situations. (i think she is in too much of a rut!! LOL!)
what did the dr say to do about the eczema? i remember having it pretty bad as a kid and had to cut down on milk stuff. but then when i hit the teenage years it disappeared! weird stuff!

(just an update: leila has just found a banana in her nappy bag, peeled it and is now laughing hysterically at how smart she is while stuffing the whole thing in her face!)

MD: yeah i thought the ending was pretty badly orchestrated. there were more than 30secs there where things just weren't happening and i dont find staring at the back of terri's head, all that exciting television! LOL! i watched a bit of every season. and watched the whole first one as i was a first year media student and it was required as part of our course work! aahhh i LOVED those BB lectures!!

Leanne: i find it really weird when they leave so early in the morning. my DH does the same when he goes to wollongong. i am contemplating if it would be better for him to leave the night before as the morning is always hectic and he invariably wakes L up...hhmmm

Cally: glad your DH is ok!

AFM: well same old same old. leila is ready to burst two teeth. is anyone elses bubs really destructive?? leila loves bashing things, tearing things and throwing things ATM. i am finding it a real PITA as the other day she threw her tommee tippee and broke it, and with the price they charge for them i was not happy!
oh and we picked up some bargains on sunday: i LOVE melbourne for this reason...we went to the PureBaby wharehouse sale!!!!! it was so frikkin awesome!!! i bought truckloads of stuff including twin sets for $10, gorgeous frocks for $8 and countless cardigans and onesies for $8-10!!! i bought up the bigger sizes for summer and am feeling rather proud of myself!!

anyway best dash as Destro-baby is unimpressed.

    hi everyone!
wow clare sounds like Miss L is going through a v intense stage - not the nice little sleepy bubba i met at coffee!! aah but it is so wonderful to watch them develop and learn about the world around them isnt it. I love your idea about couples day - a great plan, we get a babysitter every few sat nights and go out, and have decided to do this once a fortnight from here on, i think it is really important. i wish we could have a day tho ,that sounds wonderful and relaxing - whereas sometimes on a sat i would prefer to sleep LOL!
well mr N has not had a good day - brought him home from FDC at lunch as he was not drinking and had a temp and had been miserable... he still is. he has thrown up a few times so of course i am concerned but i think he will be ok. i am taking himto melb tomorrow so mum can help me, and also so i can go to work.... i hope he is ok.
oh no i hear him waking - better go in to him.

Pregpan, where/how did you go about finding a babysitter...I'm up with the FDC but I've never actually looked for a babysitter per se. Sorry to hear N is not well again.

C, I'm so jealous of your sunday shopping trip! Oh I'd love to have a couple day, we usually do them every so often but the timing was wrong for about 6 weeks before DH left, there was a SINGLE day he could've taken about 4 weeks ago but he organised some stupid thing for work instead (*stamps foot*). Now it'll be 3 months (and counting)...!
