serioulsy... 2015???
wow!
ummm you have an excuse - you are preg!! i am just fat..
yes seriously!! how funny is that? they said for me to enjoy my family time and they looked forward to seeing me in january 2015.
i bet you're not really fat...maybe you might be just holding a bit more fluid due to stopping breastfeeding or something??
what day do you leave for bali? are you home just you and noah right now?
2015 gosh I am jealous. The joys of working for the government hey!? As for your DH putting Lewis into blue wondersuits, my DP is the same. I have to lay out the clothing for him otherwise yes its a wondersuit!
Girls I just had a beautiful bday invite made on ebay for $10 for Maddie. I'm going to try and post it, I'll let you know if I do it. Not too cluey when it comes to posting things and trying to block out my ph numbers on the invite!
Hi ladies, thanks for all your support re the "H issue". I'm going up to the school to see the exec teacher (they have a person whose entire job it is to deal with such issues so the more I think about it it's something endemic at the school). Quite surprised she hasn't rung me after everything H said last week...
Pregpan. Chin up chicckie, you have BALI to look forwards to!!! Look it's sunday - it's NEXT WEEK already LOL. Re the magneatos, is it a choking concern (had a look online but can't work out how small the ballshaped pieces are)? Really small magnets can perforate their insides if they swallow 2 or more (that's why the polly pocket stuff was recalled last year) but these don't look little like that. Could you take the small bits out and just let him play with the big stick bits?
Rainy - ah cabin fever! Definitely shop some more over the internet, that'll fix it. Works for me ;). We've got E a buzzybee wheelybug, would've loved a ladybird but buzzy's next best thing. Plus it was a bargain. Also thinking of getting E a boikido walker, she already has a plastic fantastic but the boikido's more like a wagon that she can put things in, kwim? Also want to get some of their wooden blocks, they're just gorgeous. Really want the HABA ones but can't justify spending nearly $100 on a small set of wooden blocks. But they are even gorgeouser.
Dh shares the same fundamental inability to choose baby clothes. I've even laid them out before and he's still dressed her in the wrong thing LOL.
AFM, we went out for brunch today (only to escape DD1 nagging me to make pancakes when I'm actually feeling too exhausted) and I was happily feeding E bits of toasted blueberry bagel, thinking what a good idea the bagel was, when she suddenly sprouted a rash on her chin. *sigh* I gave her grapes yesterday, so along with the mandarine bum-rash it looks like she might be a bit sensitive to salicylates. Hoping this passes cos I'm sick of giving her apple and pear and banana, I was hoping to get her going on some other fruit. Looks like we might have to proceed a bit more slowly. Serves me right for eating too many mandarines when I was preggers I s'pose.
Thanks MD for the encouragement - have hada fun day shopping so we day 1 has passed ok...
he is teething again so a bit out of sorts... thx for saving that for me bubba.
I also meant to post about H yesterday - i am so sorry she is going thru that... let us know hwo you go at school. crazy they need a full time person for it,. but if that is the case she shojld have it sorted pronto i woulf think..
Bummer re the allergies... i am trying to think of some other fruits for E... i am quite lucky i guess that N has shown no allergy signs yet
thanks for the magneato tip too, i cant see a choking hazard, they are quite big bits...
i might hold off a bit anf then just take out any small bits if they do come with small bits...
off to check out those toys you mention... i like the HAB blocks too and the brio ones...
See Pregpan, shopping always works! :D - I've got as many weeks as you have days until our DHs are home - but trust me I know better than anyone that any absence is too long!
Hi, My names Andie aka Andrea, ~Kate~ referred me here. First time I've been to this site.
I have two boys, Alex who'll be two shortly & Jack, who will be 1 in one months time.
I'm living in country NSW on a friends property. & its just me & the boys (my friend & her son is in a diff house).
I hope its okay me joining in here? I know it will take a while to catch up & get to know you all & I hope you can be patience whilst I learn.
Thanks heaps, Andie
Hey Andie
Good to see you made it here. It is a pretty chatty bunch of ladies in here so is fun trying to keep up.
Take care darl...Sarahs bath time so BBL
Hi to everyone else, sorry no personals for now
Big :welcome: Andie!!
We love it when new people join in! more the merrier and more excuses for chatting! LOL!:D
Pregpan: re the toys a good friend told me yesterday that one of the best airtrip toys she used for her 1 year old were the magnetic toys. she had one that the magnetics were on a board and they fit perfectly on the tray...kept him amused for ages. she also said that a great idea is to have a bag of 'curios'...ie small toys that they havent played with before and basically drag them out one at a time...sooo, maybe more shopping in store for us?!! i need to stock up big time for our italy trip!
as for birthday toys we have a couple of things (jeepers only 9 days away!!): we have the small ladybug wheely, a wooden drum and a hammer and balls set. i can recommend the wooden walkers. leila has one and thinks she is a champion with it (she toddles from one side of the room to the other like a 'big' girl!). ours was from ikea...
G: LOL! at your hammock shennanigans!! that is so funny! hey look i reckon there are somethings that are worth their weight in gold...we bought a moses basket and stand to the tune of $350 and although we only used it for a couple of months it absolutely saved us!
MD: bummer about the reaction to the fruit! have you tried things like watermelon? it is also good cold when they are teething...
we also do tinned peaches and apricots. but maybe they are too strong? hmm not much help on that one i'm afraid!
LOL! at our DHs taste in clothing! Mine is EXACTLY the same. today we were getting ready to go out and he had her in a wondersuit and a grotty size 3 (umm i have no idea where that one is from! seriously!) jumper. I was like: 'i dont think so'.
AFM: well we went and spent a fortune at the Baby and Kids market...i picked up some AMAZING clothing bargains!! so proud of myself. i got her a gorgeous 'zoo emporium' bolero, a minihaha ra ra skirt for summer, a gorgeous fully reversible pinafore and curdoroy set, the hammer and ball bench, musical bells, and a whole bunch of other musical instrument things, some gorgeous hairclips oh the list goes on! I love the baby and kids market!!
only problem now is that i am exhausted. so i sent DH, Leila and the dawg on a walk...they were meant to be back by 6.30......hmmmmm. so i guess i will have the cranky pants express arriving at any moment! LOL!
hey have you guys got the bubs toothbrushes??? i think i am being a bad mummy as i havent got any yet??
oh and another question: what age did/are you guys putting the kids in the 'big' bed? leila has worked out how to drop the side of the cot so i am loathe to buy a new cot, but at the same time thinking she is still quite a way off from upgrading...
Nice work on the clothing buys, sounds like you had a ball buying up big. I've been checking out all the sites you guys have been recommending for toys and have had to fully restrain myself from buying EVERYTHING!!! I love those wheely bug things...esp the ladybug one. Might have to drop the hint to the grandparents..hehe
As for the toothbrush, I got S the three pack that you change when they get more teeth. So it goes from a rubbery bristly type thing (technical term) to a really soft bristle and then to the next stage which were not at yet so can't remember what it looks like. I read somewhere that bubs needs to visit the dentist by the time they are one. I'm freaking about that...S will prob bite the dentists hand off inbetween squealing and wiggling.
Sarah just plays around with the toothbrush a bit in the bath and I'll give her teeth a quick brush when she lets me. No toothpaste yet tho, not until they are 2 I think.
Oops, gotta go again...BBL again
WELCOME ANDIE - look fwd to getting to know you and all about your boys!
Clare - LOL re more shopping for the plane.. i am putting tog a little bag of curios now.. though it is only 6 hrs so should not need too much... and it is startying at 6.30pm so i am hoping to get at least a little sleep from him... when are you going to Italy??? Love the sound of the stuff you got from the market - and DH still thought about a wondersuit LOL!!!
N has become a real explorer now that he is on the move.. still not properly crawling but he can get where he wants and now he knows wjat he wants. he had a ball unpackinga ll the little drawers on our coffee table this arvo - now i have a HUGE mess to clean up but was gorgeous to see... he also rubbed a mushed up cruskit all over a dress in country road today while i was shopping... i owned up to it and they were v nice about it. he was giggling the whole time iw as telling them what happened..
I have the same toothbrushes for Jack, Kate.
Alex uses toothpaste. If I don't give him kids toothpaste he will try & use mine. Found him sucking a tube off adults toothpast one day.
Thanks ladies for the welcome.
Jack has 31 days until he is 1 .. has 8 teeth & has a molar trying to get through. He has many restless nights, unless he sleeps with mummy.
Hi girls!
Well i'll try posting again... and maybe this time will be more successful! DH came out to put the heater on for me (still no wireless ;)), and in doing so ripped out the internet connection just as i hit send! arrrghhhh! and it's always the awesome ones you lose LOL!
Pregpan: ha ha! i have soo had the clothing incident happen too! unfortunately i wasnt as honest! leila was in the sling and as i was looking through the racks she was sucking on a trouser leg! in my fright i just shoved it back in and ran! oh i am so brave!
were you in the country road in town? i have to say that the baby clothes section is just so darn nice! i bought some of the best summer clothes from there for her last season.
Andie: darn those teeth! LOL! with Leila it's almost a good week of crappy nights before the little things come out. what remedies do you try? we have the brauers and the weleda and the good ol' bonjela...we are pulling out all stops! i am still very tempted to try the amber necklaces...hhmmm or is that too byron bay? LOL!:D
Kate: ah yes! i do love the shopping splurges. the problem with those baby and kids markets is that they are alot like IKEA...everything is much cheaper than anywhere else, but you find that you still manage to spend too much! but i think we did pretty well on stocking up for summer...i bought sz 1 stuff, but i think i was too keen...she is still in 00...looks ginormous! (there's my technical word of the day LOL!).
ohh thanx for the toothbrush tips! where did you get them from? will search around tomorrow...
hmmm i think leila would like the dentist. we are there often enough! (i just recently had braces put on....oh sexy baby!)
i can highly recommend the wheely bugs. the great thing about them in comparison to other ride ons is that they go in all directions (it is set on casters...). so great for avoiding frustrated child syndrome stuck against the wall! MD posted a link not so long ago for youtube...just type wheely bug in teh search engine and the clip shows up....looks like fun!
better go, wanna watch look both ways...
cassius - we got a toothbrush for asha but the only reason we did was because i caught her with dps in her mouth brushing her teeth haha.. we got hers from the chemist its a really soft one said 4 - 24mths on it and i dnt give her toothpaste. she just plays with it in the bath and occassionally has a bit of a brush with it lol..
andie - welcome :) wow eight teeth.. asha only has 4 lol..
pregan - lol @ noah laughing about smearing the cruskit!! great to hear hes gettin around now!
kate - our dentist told us there wasnt much point in going to the dentist until they are five unless they are having any problems with their teeth.. not sure if other dentists see kids earlier tho..
hi to everyone else:) bit tired today asha decided shed like to get up early and is now winging for i have no idea what reason...
maybe tmi but last night dp and i decided to "try for a baby" well it was more in the heat of the moment than anything but weve both been really wanting another baby with a few doubts there too.. at the last minute i freaked out and started asking him "Are you sure" lol he asked me the same thing and i ended up with the response "i dont know" lol what happened to me?? i lost my nerve and made him pull out lol which is not fool proof anyway and i may still be pregnant coz i am somewhere in the middle of my cycle but now i am just really confused?? ok winge over lol sorry for the tmi!!
morning everyone!
Clare - yep was in the city CR, they only just opened in woden too so i have to pop there as they put a dress on hold fr me there... i LOVE their kids stuff too, tho I mist say the girls stuff is so much better than the boys... i still manage to spend a packet everytiem i go in there. btw have any of you seen peter alexander had baby/kid stuff now??? soooo cute. i got N a little suit from there yest, not PJs but for the day - adorable stuff!
Noni - i guess fate will tell....
N is also getting tooth number 7... he is a drool factory... but the good news is that it cant be bothering too much atm as last night he SLEPT THROUGH totally for the first time ever!! yep 7am to 6.30pm with NO settles.... i hope this is the new him!! tho i am schlepping him to melb tomorrow and then bali on sat night so i am sure that will undo his wonderful work!!! at least i know he CAN do it!!
Go Noah!!! They have some great wooden trolley pushers at Sprout in Canberra Centre (part of the chemist opposite SupaBarn). Will have to check out Peter Alexander when I am up next week.
Welcome Andie!!
K has a toothbrush, it is just a Tommee Tippee one that came with a hair brush, nail clippers etc. She plays with it in the bath and during clothes changes. Will occasionally let me give her teeth a quick brush. I heard that cheese is really good for their teeth too.
Clare - I'm hoping Granny gets us a wheely bug for birthday!
My DH must be against the grain - DD is usually dressed quite well when he does it. The PJ's are kept in a separate drawer to the clothes though which helps.
MD - bummer about the reaction to blueberries.
Well we have had 2 truckloads of dirt delivered so far this morning. 2 more today, 3 tomorrow, bobcat tomorrow, garden edging guy on Wednesday and turf on Friday! Our garden is going to look so good by next week and then I get to do the fun stuff, going out and buying plants!
How are other bubs with bread/toast? DD just licks the spread off and chucks it away. Very frustrating as a sandwich is such an easy lunch yet she doesn't eat it.
Cally: yep, leila is the same. licks of the spread, then sucks the toast and throws. this is a new habit...in fact she has been developing quite a few new habits...usually to show her will!
Noni: ohhh! I guess like what PP said, only time will tell. but it is nice that both you and DH are on the same page re wanting babies!
Pregpan: i am soo checking out peter a. now! ha ha ha! ohh a country road in woden! i knew i shouldnt have left!
Cally: i love that sprout shop! so many nice things! and i love that you can buy molotex nappies. here in melbourne they only have online. same with the safties nature nappies...
AFM: well we had the worst night. L woke up at 1am and didnt settle until 3.40am. I have been trying to not feed to settle, but by 3.20 i gave up...bad i know, but i was just exhausted. not sure what to do. i think a read of baby love is in order....
BBL!
ooh i may have led you up the garden path re peter a, it is a small but gorgeous range... i liked it though!
i LOVE sprout at canberra centre - damn i meant to pop in there yest, they have such good toys!! i am sure there will be a shopping ban after BALI so i better get anything i want now ha ha ha!!
Noah has also started to throw food - he used to be so compliant LOL and now is really trying to 'express' himself with all these new tricks. it is hard not to laugh... though i made that mistake when he blew raspberries w food in his mouth and now he wont stop that!! yep he licks the spread off toast now, but sometimes he will eat it (esp fruit toast)
Noni, lol at chickening out at the last minute!
Rainy, LMAO that we are both pinning all our hopes on each other. W is a mixed bag now, sometimes we have a few 6+ nights in a row then he has a few 3-4 wake up nights. It actually makes the 6 wake up nights harder - at least before I was assured of a crap night so I didn't get my hopes up lol. Too funny about the cradle price fib!
MD, did you get down to the school today? Not that it helps H any, but I feel sorry for the 'nice' girl who wouldn't play with her because of what the others would think. I would be sad if my kid was a sheep like that.
Pregpan, does N still wear girl nappies to bed? My supermarket ran out of boy walker so I had to get girl - I told W that lots of little boys wear girls nappies lol. You are braver than I owning up to the cruskit incident, I would have hidden it and boosted.
Cally, sounds like you will have a lovely garden. It will feel great when it is all done and you can sit back and enjoy it.
Clare, we have been brushing teeth for the past couple of weeks. I just got the colgate brush and toothpaste. He brushes them in the bath at night (along with everything else - he has some very well brushed nuts lol) and during the day he grabs the vanity and tries to haul himself up and says tee sss (can't quite manage the th sound)
Sounds like someone needs a nap
Hey, I'm new on here...
How is everyone? You guys all seem very nice :)
I've just been wondering, do any of your babies have a strawberry birthmark?
I have a few q's if anyone wants to help me out:)
Hi Cinta. My neice was born with several strawberry birthmarks. I think she has one remaining on her side, the others had all shrunk and disappeared by the time she was about 2.
hi Cinta, and welcome to BB. Sorry don't know about the strawberry birthmarks but I'm sure if you start a new thread there will be some mums on BB who have bubs with them.
Arte, well I've made a time to see the exec teacher tmrw. And then H came home this arvo all happy because she had two girls (and a meanie) playing with her today...so I hope she has turned a corner, but it often only lasts a few days. I just really want to check what her impressions are of what's been going on and make sure that she knows that if it turns bad again I want immediate action. It's gone on for too long now, it was a bit of a shock to hear how bad it's been because H has been keeping a lot of it to herself.
Oh I love that shop with the toys in the Canberra Centre. Dangerous place to be, really! Has any one else bought birthday party clothes for their littlies and what did you get? I went to Pumpkin Patch today but it seemed quite empty and nothing really stood out. Saw a nice red and white Esprit dress but it was a bit too summery, maybe I should go back and get it for Christmas instead.
ETA - Cally, E is a dedicated bread/crumpet/muffin/toast eater. I give it to her in little bits though, maybe try that. Also it's pretty hard to lick the butter out of a crumpet! I put a dab of golden syrup on now and again (just the tiniest whisper) and that always goes down a treat too.
The toothbrush we have is the pidgeon one from big w. Its got a little buffer that you pop on so that they can't choke, although I can't remember if it is supposed to go on the second one as well (help Andie?)
I'm so into getting a wheely bug now, only thing is that she has a ride on toy already as well as a rocking horse and a rocking dinosaur and a smart trike and a push pram thing and another ride on toy. So don't know if I NEED it but I WANT it so does that count...! ;)
Cass - I hear you about the size 1 stuff. S still wears a pair of jeans that are 000, they are a bit more like capri tho at the moment but still fit around the waist. Other stuff she fits size 1 so I usually buy according to how they look. Or just take pot luck when on Gymboree online buying clothes for her.
Cally - S doesn't really like sandwiches much, she has a bit of a munch on the filling then dumps the rest. Loves crust on toast tho. She ends up chucking all her food on the floor once shes done. She loves eating grapes (seedless) but mainly sucks the juice than leaves the rest on her tray. I think she would like me to peel them for her...
Cinta - Hi and welcome. My DD has the stork bites on her forehead and back of neck sorta strawberry marks. I had them at birth as well and faded over time, although if I'm really worked up or unwell you can still see the 'V' on my forehead. Ask away regarding your questions...we'll do our best to help. We're all quite friendly and only bite after a really sleepless night jk
hi girls
this post may come across as weird as i have one eye on the computer and one eye on my roaring fireplace that L is hovering around. dp still hasn't bought a cover for it so i can't really relax while the fire is going ggrrr
glad to hear my dp is not the only one who can't dress the baby. the weirdest part is that he doesn't even dress him in a blue wondersuit, he always chooses one of those funny aqua green ones so he looks exactly like iggle piggle.
md- glad that H had a better day today. is that exec teacher like a student welfare co-ordinator?
pp- oohh what country road dress are you getting? i love their stuff. ust got the new catalogue with the spend $300 for $200 voucher but there's not much point buying any nice summer stuff when i'm so preggggg
arte- yes we are pinning our hopes on each other, but i'm also a lot more relaxed and zen like, thanks to you. i'm coping with it all much better now that i'm nearly in 2nd trimester.
noni- yah i hope you're utd!! ;) if thats what you want of course. :)
hi to cinta and andie
toothbrushes ... got Jacks from either the chemist or Woolies. I honestly don't remember it was that long ago! ROFL
Clare: I try what I have in the house, Brauer, panandol (even 1yrs to 5yrs .. he's got the weight to allow the occasional usuage), nurofen, teething gel, & Hylands Teething Tablets. These are horrible for him. He vomits etc & was even told once to take him to the hosp if he continued.
He's prob gonna be like Alex, Alex has half a molar left to come thro in his whole mouth, and he turns 2 this week. (wrapped all his Bob pres today whilst he was at daycare).
Jack has a dislike for being left alone. I guess he's always had someone around him, whether it be other kids or us watching him from the other kids or the big dogs. It getting tedious though cause lately, we can't even walk from the lounge room to the kitchen.
Yep, I've got Nurofen, dymadon (S prefers this to the taste of panadol) as well as bonjela and the Hylands teething tablets.
Has anyone tried those tablets...they taste like nothing but they sorta do KWIM ;). S loves them and pops them in her mouth with ease. Shes such a little addict, sucks on the syringes when giving nurofen and dymadon as well. Loves the stuff lol
Oh, take care with the hot stuff L. Fire hurts. haha Rainy tell your dh to get his butt into gear for that cover. We can't not have your full attention on here ;)
S was a nightmare to put down to sleep tonight. I had to walk away twice or I was going to scream. Why can't I have a baby that falls asleep as soon as her head hits the cot? I've really done myself in with how I've raised her, feeding to sleep etc. Argh...over it and to top it off Bones is back on tonight at 9.30 and I can't record it! So now gotta to stay awake to watch it...although thank god it is back on...I want Bones and Booth to hook up!
Hi there girls!
kate: well i finally bought some toothbrushes! (YAY!). i bought the pigeon 3 pack...looks pretty spesh! cant wait to see her using them! at the orthodontist she was forever stealing the brushes off the counter, so no doubt she wont have any probs using them!
ha ha about the clothing sizes! Leila still has some 000 too! it seems so ridiculous, so i rarely admit it! but it's true. i think she has only just gone over the 8 kilo mark by now...have no idea really as we havent had her weighed since she was 8 months and then she was 6.9kgs.
Andie: Leila has also been going through some wee separation moments. funnily enough it's when we are around the house. she goes to kindy 2 days a week and doesnt bat an eyelid, but when we are at home, she wants us in sight! unless of course she is too busy bashing her rattles on the table legs...
i saw the hylands tablets but they looked pretty hardcore to me. i am not great with measuring stuff (i get DH to measure out the panadol LOL!). i guess if the teething gets shocking i'll go the next step. fingers crossed it's smooth sailing pffffttt! LOL!
G: oh i know about the fire place! we have an open gas heater thingy on the wall and we have been meaning to go and buy a fireguard...oops! luckily leila is not at all interested in it, i just worry that during her playing she'll fall on it or something.
you may not be able to buy CR BUT....remember our good friend metalicus!!!!! i bought and wore that stuff constantly when preggers (and still do!). they have some gorgeous dresses out ATM....
hi Cinta! and welcome! of course you can ask questions! we ask many all the time! LOL!
like the others have said you may get more info if you post a general thread in the baby and toddler section about the strawberry marks...afraid i can't help on that one...:)
MD: oh yeah baby! i have soooo bought Leila her party outfit!! i didnt think i would do it, but, i bought a ridiculous bright orange, pink and red tutu!! oh and she will soo be wearing the fairy wings that i bought when you and i went shopping in that store in manuka!!!!! i LOVE that store! wish it had of been there when i lived there!
that sprout store is so good. i could never resist going in there when we did our groceries at supabarn...oh them were the days! i cant believe i am nostalgic. what is wrong with me???
Arte: OMG that W is so gorgeous! man he is really speaking! what a gorgeous thing! you guys must be so proud!
oh and i forgot to mention that i have read everyone's birth stories and can i just say that you guys are so awesome! what amazing experiences and strength we have shown!
hi everyone
will prob be quick - bit stressed here as i get everything ready for bali via a 4 day half work and half play trip to melbs...
Cinta - welcome. look fwd to getting to know you. sorry i dont have any info for you though...
MD - of course we have an outfit for the bday!! ha ha ha!! my mum actually got it for him from seed... i love their stuff!
Rainy - OMG i am sooo p'd off, i got home and the catalogue with discount was there waiting for me... AFTER i spent a small fortune there.. today i bought 2 dresses, a v casual tracksuity one and also a gorgeous tailored denim one (good for work on non meeting days and for casual). i also bought a sut there a week ago.. GRRRRR... oh well will have to make use of the voucher for some mroe of the stuff i have my eye on. I agree w cassius make your way to metallicus, that is practically all i wore all through preg and i still wear it.. gorgeous stuff i there too now, i wish we had a store here!
Kate - i have a baby toothbrush. i havent used it yet though LOL! i went to the dentist today and he also gave me some baby paste from 6 months use and told me to start brushing N's teeth. more to get him into the habit...
where's sherie???
sorry girls everything else has gone out of my mind.. i will go get myself organised and pop back on when my mind is clearer.
am going to herbalist tomorrow - before i fly out!!
hey there i just wanted to jump in and quickly say that anyone having trouble getting bubs to sleep should try a sleep cd!! i bought a lullaby cd for asha made by fisher price for ten bucks from target the other day and its made a huge difference for us.. we are three days into using it and i have managed to get her to sleep all three nights in her bed (previously we would let her fall asleep in the bouncer and carefully put her in bed).. i stay next to her as long as she is laying down quietly, if shes naughty and getting up i leave for 5 minutes and come back and the second time ten minutes and come back but as long as shes laying and beeing good i stay next to her.. the first night i went out of the room twice and she went to sleep by the 6th song on the cd, the second night i only went out once and she was asleep by the 4th song on the cd.. drum roll please!!! tonight i didnt have to leave the room at all and she was asleep halfway through the 2ND SONG!!!!
she is still waking up and coming to bed with us but i dont mind as long as she sleeps a few hours in her cot atleast (atm shes doing 5-7 hours in her cot).. i am so excited we might be able to try and move her back to her own room in a few weeks if it keeps going well!!!
hope everyones doing well be back tmw for some personals..
OMG Kate! me too! they so should hook up! even if for just an episode...it's like the modern day scully and mulder! LOL!
we dont have probs putting L to sleep for the night but for the last 3 weeks she has been waking up in the early hours (1-3am) and refusing to go back to sleep without a feed grrrr! i am with you on the feed to sleep! it's my own fault, but doesnt make the reality any easier.
Noni: oohh i think i need that cd for the middle of the night rampages!
we used the hylands teeting tabs on alex .. & do you think a chemist wld have them around here! had to get the name from someone in QLD & get a chemist to especially order them.
yeah alex didn't like the panadol either. dymadon worked a treat with taste! now they usually have jadin's chemist own brand (when I have it in stock).
jack's not too bad going to sleep .. only if you try & put alex down with jack awake then its all on for jack. we, sorry, I have little probs with jack going down. just keeping him asleep during the night. decided last nite its time for him to start finding his dummy on his own at midnite instead of getting mum up every hour to hour & a half!
Cass -those hylands tablets are fantastic. They are omeopathic and I have heard so many people swear by them. They can be used in conjunction with anything else and just dissolve in bubs mouth. S justs pops them in and they dissolve away. My sister used to rub them on the gums but S just chomps on my finger instead. And yep, S is only about 8.5kg, getting her weighed again this thursday so will update you then. My nephew is 6.5months and outweighed her from about 5 months of age. He is such a buddha butt lol.
So true about Bones and Booth being modern day Mulder and Scully. Although I think the gender has swapped a bit as I see Bones being more the Mulder type person. I love this show but am having a hard time trying to keep my eyes open. Know where I can download episodes from...?
PP - don't stress...just visualise Bali, breathe in deeply and remember that we are all as jealous as hell!!! Hope you get everything ready in time and the herbalist gets you on track.
Noni - nice work...what was the cd called. I got her the celtic lullabies but for some strange reason its in the car (not being played). Might get that out tomorrow  I've got my fingers crossed for you with that miracle cd!
I NEED HELP....PLEASE READ AND HELP ASAP!!!
Which Wheely Bug should I get Sarah? :p:lol:
I really like the ladybug one but think the mouse is super cute as well. I have a bit of a fascination with ladybugs but don't want to rub that off onto S...
ha ha ha Kate you crack me up!!
I love them both - ok i love them all!! i think my fave is the mouse if it is for a girl..
do it!! gr8 toys on sale but i think sold out of mouse..
btw i ended up getting my nephew the bee... i thought the ears of the tiger may get dirty
now i need to choose one for N - i am thinking either ladybug (is that too girly), cow or bee
I agree the tigers ears would get too dirty,v.cute tho
I love them all but would have a hard time justifing that, I found them on ebay for $85 each with cheapish postage. Works out cheaper than gr8 toys, unless I end up buying heaps of other things from there. hehe
I think you should get N the cow, that way he can play with his cousins bee as well. Unless you would prefer to get the same to avoid fights...*shrugs* Decisions, decisions, decisions! Why are all of lifes biggest questions so hard to answer? I would rather be asked the meaning of life over which wheely bug should I get! :cryinglaugh:
Ah damn, still can't decide which one....rock off time...one...two...three...*****...hard to fool yourself! I keep knowing what I'm going to choose. Maybe I'll try to thumb wrestle myself for an answer... one, two, three, four...I declare a thumb war...argh..nope ambidexterious (sp?) here.
Okay, so I've just re-read my post and think that I need to get some sleep soon.
Maybe I'll just get DH to choose...
Hey!
Thanks for the welcome.
hmmm, yeah my daughter has a strawberry birthmark just under left arm on her side, which appeared after birth. I've always been paranoid about it coz every time you pick her up it gets pulled etc. anyhoo, i took her to the GP coz it has a dry piece of skin on it which turned into a sore and he told me that it has turned into a benign tumour. I'm just not sure whether it's something that should be extremely worrying or not, i'm guessing it will probably have to be removed...I don't know many other mothers, so yeh...sorry to blabber on.
Oh, and with ur little bubbies sleeping through, i'm not sure if this will help, but i tried getting my bub to have a pretty decent dinner and a bottle so she wouldn't be hungry. At this point she would only wake up at about 1-2 am for a bottle, but as she ate more for dinner she sleeps through the night. And getting her to sleep, i used the the 5 minute, rub back reaasure method. It almost kills u coz u feel so bad when they cry, but now she's learnt how to put herself to sleep. it's great! :) 8pm til 8am!
ermm...what's a bug?
Cinta - you gotta check these out. Search in google or ebay for wheely bug. So cute...little bit expensive but adorable.
Have you popped a thread in the childrens medical conditions section on bb yet? I'm sure that there will be plenty of ladies (and gents) that could help you out with answers. Did the dr tell you what to do about it?
As for the sleeping...I am so jealous. I've tried feeding S up with solids as well as a comp formula feed but she has still been stirring a coupla times a night. I get away with being able to pop her dummy in and pat her for a min or two but occasionally she will stay awake and need cuddles and yep, worse case scenario she needs a feed to settle her. I think the feed is just for my piece of mind because I know that she will go straight to sleep after a feed so I get to go back to bed.
LOL! Kate! you are so funny!! hmmm, if i were to get another (i have the ladybug bug) i would go the mouse...too cute!
Cinta: oh that does sound pretty intense for your girl. i have heard of sores going strange and the superficial cells changing. what are the drs going to do about it? is she going to have some bloods taken or a biopsy? a friend recently had this happen (a sore that got infected and cells went funny). and they made her wait a couple of weeks then they retested and it had gone back to normal. maybe call your local parentline/MACH line...they are a font of information and are generally 24 hours. i ring them at all hours with a bizillion questions LOL!
PP: oohhh Bali..............
Hey,
Thanks, i only just signed up here today, still yet to check it out some more.
I found that my bub just needed to get used to putting themselves back to sleep. I tried to learn to differenciate between her cries, so if she didn't sound hungry or distressed, i didnt go to her, i did stay awake and listen tho! she always just went back to sleep. I think i've just been blessed with a wonderful child! hehe, i found when she had her dummy she woke up more looking for it, but she just decided one day that she didnt want it, so that helped alot, but then i didn't have anything to comfort her. Maybe try weaning her off her dummy at night time if you find she loses it and wakes up to find it missing?
