Selfish post here for the moment
Sarah has been a right royal pain in the butt for the last two days. Very clingy and sooky. I think theres a tooth in there that won't come out. Played havoc with sleep last night, she was awake for 2 hours from 12.30pm onwards. Not happy, I refuse to feed her during the night now and that has helped with sleep but makes it a bit harder to put her back to sleep during the night. She does this about once a week where she just wakes up and stays awake for a few hours during the night. Drives me nuts. She gets a comp formula feed at the moment which has helped out greatly on the sleeping front. When she was just getting booby she would fall asleep whilst feeding so would be hungry sooner. So I decided to top her up with formula at night and it's so much better.
So now I've just got to get her out of this staying awake in the middle of the night stuff. It seems more draining when she does it every know and again then when she was to sleeping poorly every night. I'm pretty happy with her sleep normally although I still wish that she would have longer during the day, normally averages 30min stints.

On the food front, she has phases of eating a fair bit and then others where she just picks at her food. I'm varying her food more now though. I was primarily sticking to the baby food jars but have now branched out to 'normal' food as well.

Oh and before I forget, just brought a whole heap of clothes from Gymboree online. I got a 20% off voucher from Ebay USA for $2 so saved there and got some really gorgeous clothes for S. Now just gotta wait until they get here.

Oh, and nearly forgot this too. Can't even remember if I told you this already but Sarah is crawling. Not efficiently or often but she can do it. I found that letting her play on the floor without socks or long pants on where the key factors. She was slipping around on the lino too much. I've also flipped a rug upside down so that she can get traction.

Anyhoo, Sarahs dinner time so BBL.

Hi Kate - i have had similar probs with N getting up in the night and suddenly taking a lot longer to settle - he was doing it a few times a night and taking 45-60min to settle, which was unusual for him... i thought perhaps linked to sep anxiety? anyway this was for a few weeks up until last week... i started to pat him instead of getting him out of cot and this helped and i must say this week he has been sleeping really reallywell (for him) - with maybe one settle per night (2 times with bottle 1 time without) for the last 3 nights... i dont know what has chgd, if the patting regime made him know it is ok to go back to sleep and that he wont be getting out of cot, or perhaps the bottles are fillinf him up more (he has just been weaned) or if he is just going through a 'good patch' but let me say it is good and i am loving it (esp as i am not feeling well). maybe try the patting?? or just know we also have these times and they seem to pass.... hugs i know how hard it is!
CONGRATS for Sarah's crawling!!! I gave N a good roll around with no pants or socks this eve and i def could see progress... so thanks for the tip. I wanted to tell Arte as well we actuallu had bought one of those balls (with the 'nipples' on) on the weekend so i have been playing with that a lot with him. he does reach for things (has for ages) and will roll to get things.... i am sure he will get there... i know i will be HAPPY when he does!
Arte - i ended up giving N about 1/3 of a tiny tin of baked beans on weekend and he loved it and had no probs, he had the rest of it today so hope we arent in for a 'windy' night... they were a real hit so i hope he doesnt suffer from them, a v good back up for when i cant cook for him!

Nice work N! I was surprised at how much it helped S being 'bottom'less. Only probably is the colder weather, gotta do it for shorter bursts when it's not quite as warm.
I've tried S on the patting thing but she screams blue murder, I think they are slowing in frequency. She was doing it every few nights to start off with (4 months ago, coincidentally or not when solids started) and is now down to once a week or so. They've also reduced in time, was 3 hours now 2 hours. So maybe in 4 more months we'll be down to 60mins haha
I've gotta get me a nipple ball, hadn't even thought of it to be honest. Heading into town tomorrow so will see what I find.
Hi to everyone else, sorry for no personals. I'm slack at the best of times but be aware that when I read your posts, I am thinking of you and responding to you in my head
Hope everyone is well and in for a great night

    Hi Girls!

I feel as though i have been MIA as the computer was playing up and not turning on...freakin' me out man! LOL!

Pregpan: Woo hoo on N trying out the sweet zzzz's the last few nights! good boy! and yeah, i know it's easier said than done, but the crawling thing is probably no big deal. my friend's bub never crawled. she bum shuffled until she was 15 months and then whammo! got up and ran.
starting to feel better...but don't want to jinx myself. dr is not convinced that we have caught the bug...ggrrrrr.
i hope that you get better soon! or at least can find some time for rest and recuperation. with work on top of everything it's pretty yuk.

Kate: i can only imagine the 2 hour nightmare! Leila the last 2 nights has been waking at 3 am and has taken close to an hour to settle (i try not to feed her, but my bad, i give in in the end....oh the vicious circle that i create!lol!). I too think it may be related to toofies. it looks as though L is getting one of her top teeth, but it is taking an extraordinary amount of time. and IKWYM about the draining part! when L started sleeping through it was so awesome, so now when she has the occasional wake-up, even if for only a quick feed, it totally smashes us!

Noni: yay the sleep! must be feeling like a new woman! LOL!
oh the joys of a twin tub! they are pretty old fashioned...basically it has two sides (hence the twin) one side is the washing part and the other is the spinner. so you have to haul all washing out from one side to the other. right royal PIA. but worked in Fiji when on more than one occasion we had no running water as you can manually fill them up easily and they dont use much water.

Sherie: yes, hunting for shanks is as manly macho as my DH can get! he was very disappointed when he couldn't get them, as was i as he came back with silverside....
i think the jabs are working. i still have the infection, but at least the pain is subsiding. my final one is tomorrow and then he will check it out a day after...fingers-crossed that all is well!
and you def had an 'awwww' moment! that must have been so cute/satisfying/tugging at the ol' heart strings seeing the little champ tuckered out on your nightie! it gives me all the awww cootchy-coo vibes!

Cally: i hear ya sista. L only slept 30 minutes in total today...was out the whole day and for one reason or another she just didnt sleep. no doubt tonight will be a shocker!
ahh the lovely sound of a cat hacking their guts up...he he he!

AFM: well, i am hoping to be saying goodbye to tonsilitis! i have my last jab tomorrow (which is lucky as there is not much room left to jab!!). still sore but nothing on last week.
also had my braces tightened today (forgot about that one until the last minute). leila behaved well though.
Leila got a pressie today from a friend of mine and she just loves it! it's one of those tin spinning top things. she is just loving it! has no idea how to use it, but it doesn't stop her trying to do what i do to it!
are the other bubs going through a really intense mimickry stage? L is copying everything i do ATM. it's really weird to be under observation!

anyway best dash and sending out lots of sleepy vibes to the bubs tonight!

morning everyone! ia m still cravng lamb shanks... i better learn how to make them i guess and then go on a hunt!! I reckon the meat stripped off them would be yummo for the babies too - anyone tried that?
Clare - glad you are feeling a bit better - i am too (tho was nowhere near as bad as you). My DH is off oseas again tomorrow for a few days so i better get my energy back! N is also into micking me now - he does a wicked '****adoodledooo' so cute!!! he has started to clap as well in the last few days (i know lots of of bubbas have already been doing this but it is new for him LOL) and is chattering away heaps...he also smacks his lips together when he is hungry and is picking up lots of mannerisms from me and DH. it is kind of weird to see them on a little person hey!
Noni - glad asha slept better last night... Noah also slept thru again!!! he had a settle at 10pm, just patting from DH and then we didnt hear fromhim til 6.30am!!! of course we both checked hima bout 15 times but he was none the wiser LOL!
    MD - how are you?

    morning all. Just a quickie.

Shingles clearing up nicely. MS in full swing, i remember now why i was only having one baby! Ah well self inflicted, no sympathy!

Food- we wouldn't have quite 2 cups of food per meal, but maybe 1 and a half.

Rainy had an incident with her pc and it is out of action. She is hoping to back on line on the weekend. (hope you don't mind me letting everyone know you're fine Rain! )

I didn't get a BFP until 15DPO, but some people get them much earlier, for eg. 9 DPO. There is a thread on who got BFP, when and what test they used.

ETA- missed your post pregpan! Yeah i know you are right, eye's on the prize! i keep reminding myself.

Well then i'd say if you have loads of spare cash, test away, if you don't, wait till next week! After all it won't change much, except your state of mind! Are you taking folate JIC?

Kate & Pregpan - I totally agree with giving bubs pant free time. With pants on Maddie was slipping and sliding and not getting far, but when I took her pants off and put her on carpet off she went. Now she has the hang of it she is doing pretty well even with her pants on. So Pregpan definately keep giving N pant free time. Also I like the idea of turning the rug over.

Noni - Gawd I'm not really sure, I dont really have a clue when it comes to dates and stuff lol. I do know that before I found out I was pregnant, I did a test to make sure I wasnt utd and it came back negative & the week after it was positive. Maybe give it more time? Are you hoping for another? Glad to hear A gave you a good nights sleep.

Ange - I was thinking about Rainy last night as well, thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about you ms, its horrible isnt it. I remember when I was pregnant I swore I wouldnt do it again due to the terrible ms. Of course I will but soooo dreading that ms! Glad the shingles have gone.

Pregpan - YAY glad N slept through again! ****adoodledoo hahahaha how cute.

Clare - We had a rough patch a couple of weeks ago with M waking at 3/4 and taking time to settle. Its since stopped, but I put it down to teeth too. Dont worry about the night feeds, I was doing it and we've since had a whole week of her sleeping through. Touch wood! I think you just do what you need to do at the time.

Trillian - Awwwww how cute is Alister, could just picture him curled up with mum's nightie!!

Well I feel like M has come a fair way in the past few days. Still cant believe she's crawling, no joke she is off and I find myself having to track her down all the time. She is into everything!! I keep having to go 'ta, not for Maddie' and taking things off her. You girls were right, crawling isnt so good after all lol. Also apparently at daycare yesterday she was drinking out of her sippy cup and tipping her head back. I'm yet to see it though. Also just before she crawled over to our lounge and pulled herself to standing. She is doing so well I'm so impressed.

On a bad note I've got a gastro bug and suspect M might be in the same boat, as she's had a couple of chucks this morning. So we are missing swimming AGAIN!
