Well I got the cold shoulder last night - walked in the front door, she came running, I knelt down with arms out for a hug, she looked at me and then went back to her Duplo! Not impressed.
PP - K is sleeping in this week compared to how she was going. She is waking up a little bit after 6. It's been great as we have had the monitor off and mum has been getting her up all week. I've been waking soon after, but it's good having my body decide when to get up rather than K's! Only one more week until daylight savings!
MD - glad you got some care sorted out for H to give you a bit of a break.
Rainy - your dad sounds wonderful
Trillian - sorry your cake didn't work, it did sound funny though! You're getting a new oven soon aren't you?

lewis is still pretty sick- he's in bed napping now. we're just giving him heaps of breastfeeds and water and dry biscuits. i hope he feels better soon, poor little man,

Rainy PMSL that you're putting on a housework show for your DP. I get the wind up my bum just before DH gets home from a big trip, so he doesn't realise what an unkempt state we've been living in for months. It's all about marketing ;). PP - yay for your reunion with DH! :) Thanks for the offer of support. I'm pretty bad, I never tell my friends until I'm past my bad patch, it's quite counterproductive really (*slaps self on hand*). Well I was picking DD1 up from FDC yesterday, and Missy E crawled off and about 10 seconds later she reemerged, triumphantly, pushing the FDC's shopping trolley toy. After one lap she started giggling maniacally and RUNNING around the house pushing this thing. And the Tanty when it was time to leave (!!) I'm so sure she'd walk if only she'd give up her psychological dependence on walkers LOL.

wow! two bubs having their first birthday!! how special is that!! congrats to the mummies and daddies!
Well I am still around. have been slowly (and i really mean slowly!) getting better. i can now move my neck with some ease! yipee! so it looks as though i will avoid the chop! although a part of me was hoping that they would just rip the tonsils out once and for all, but oh well.
Rainy: L is just gorgeous and yes, those oobi pants are the best! i have seen boys bloomers for oobi in the shops...the bat design ones...he would look so cool in those LOL!
MD: wow! i know that it sounds really far off, but 5 weeks??! it will be a flash in the pan! it feels like only a few days ago that you said 8 weeks. that is soo funny about the shopping trolley! IKWYM about them crying when leaving care! L gets sooo excited when she arrives and doesnt even look back when we leave and say goodbye. i try not to feel too rejected!

Noni - Aw I shed a tear myself reading your post about crying during happy birthday. I have been wrapping pressies for tomorrow and I've also been bawling my eyes out today hahahaha. Good luck for Asha's party tomorrow, sounds like you've done a fantastic job. Also I second what MD said, you have had a few tough moments this year but you have done SO well and you deserve a big pat on the back.
Must say I was PMSL at all the cake stories, especially Kate stabbing the cake, Rainy hurling her cake over the balcony & Trillian losing her eyebrows BAHAHAHAHA!! Oh god I hope karma doesnt come back and bite me in the bum for laughing as I am making a number 1 cake tonight!

Cally - How is work going? 500 odd emails that must have taken the whole day at least? I agree with pregpan, I miss M and often get the guilts while at work, but at the same time I think I need to work for myself, to keep myself sane. I think us mums will forever have something to feel guilty about now days anyway. Besides alot of mums these days work, for money & for a career, doesnt mean we dont put our children 1st.
Leemar - Hope you get your mumma sleep. Sorry to hear the boys arent well. Ear infections especially are terrible.

Just a quick update on M, its her bday tomorrow for a start. I've been emotional all day wahhh! She is also 'walking' around the house pushing her walker, or a pram, or even an empty nappy box. She follows me everywhere. Also she randomly stands up without needing to use furniture. I've also started her on cows milk with no problems at all.
Anyway hope you are all well, but I must go and pick up my ENGAGEMENT RING WOOOOO!

Further on to the oven issues - the bloody thing caught fire last night! All I can say is thank god we had a fire extinguisher handy to put it out. I was home on my own with the kids too - DH was on the tractor over the back paddock. So yes, we are definately getting a new one!!! Scared the crappola out of me and I had a terrible sleep last night too. So you all have to go out and buy a fire extinguisher OK? The one we had only cost $30 and worth every last cent of it too.
Marydean, Lindsay was exactly like E is with the walking. He was 13mths when he walked unaided without his trolley. It was a block one and the front was weighed down by the blocks, so it was perfect for him.
Sorry for lack of personals everyone, but my love to you all. I'm on here to avoid cleaning the house again LOL.

MD, I am so glad you have a second wind. I could feel you slipping and was worried about you, hope that the next 5 weeks go quickly. It is great that H is having an easier time at school, lol at 'hang out'
Not sure what is going on but W seems to be having trouble getting to sleep. He isn't even being a monkey, just taking ages. Last night he took nearly an hour. I was about 5 minutes away from running out of Zen, he drinks from one side and likes to twirl, grab, pull the other nipple Grrr. Then he keeps waking up all night (nothing new there lol) but he goes straight to a grizzle and then needs boob to stay in his mouth so I can't get comfortable. I hope it is a tooth and that it comes up really soon.

Holy *****e Trill...how scary that would've been! We don't have an extinguisher but we do have a fire blanket (I figure it's prolly gonna be a cooking fire or a small appliance but I had rooly trooly never thought about the OVEN catching fire. Even tho my Dad's washing machine caught fire once...always make sure I don't put a wash on then leave the house after that)!
MM I think you are so right about us mums always having something to be guilty about, that's the way it is now. That's the price of the feminism, but the benefits of living a well-rounded empowered life also flow through to our children so it's a small thing when you consider the good things that we pass on to our kids, daughters especially.
Andie, oh rats about the horrible shopping trip, I've had a few of those with E. Not much choice when you're on your own! Hope you have a lovely day out at the markets (oh I do love a market)!
Arte, I hope the staying awake passes, that sounds very wearing. Would you or have you considered a dummy substitute (*ducks for cover*)...might help with your comfort levels? Have I mentioned my Baby's Got Rhythm? I nearly wet myself with excitement at the Op Shop the other day when I found an old C+C Music Factory CD ("EVERYBODY DANCE NOW") - anthem of my heyday pmsl. Anyway brought it home and both my girls have been grooving on down to the beats every day since. Missy E's got the beat alright LOL.

Thanks ladies for the bday wishes, we had a wonderful & emotional day with our big one year old today. We had a little party with lots of party food and a number 1 cake, she loved it & was spoilt rotten. I bawled my eyes out at 3.16pm which is the time that she arrived into the world. DP (or should I say DF, still on a high woo!!) and I have been remeniscing - spelling? all day, silly little things like 'at this time I was in labour' & 'remember what you said to me during labour' etc etc. I've cried alot today, much to my embarrassment lol.
On another note, I need a quick vent: The pressure that comes with organising a wedding has begun. We are planning a simple ceremony in Bali with immediate family only, as its all we want, I am not into the traditional white wedding scene. Anyway the outlaws have started with 'you cant do that, you must do this, get married in a church' blah blah blah. AHHHH hmmm maybe we should elope to Vegas!?
Oh and I lmao at the thought of MD's girls dancing to 'everybody dance now'!!!!!!! THATS A GOOD ONE! Cool find MD.

Just quick from me - have all the clean up to do after Alister's party yesterday. It was a great day, quite hot and friends of ours brought out their 4 wheeler motorbike so the big kids were on it all day and had a ball. The little kids had loads of fun, but with the heat they were over it all quite quickly. Alister just lost it by the time we had his cake so he ain't too happy in the pics LOL. Cake turned out brilliantly - will post pics later tonight. And Cally, he got a wagon for his birthday! Not a Radio Flyer, but this one is better because it's smaller I think - the Radio Flyers were really long.
H, tell the outlaws to bugger off - its your wedding, not theirs and you need to do what you want. Stand firm and don't let them get their way hun. I hate that kind of pressure from people because it only makes you and your fiance end up fighting, especially if all the pressure is from family.

I was so sentimental yesterday as well. It started on Friday when I said "aww, this time last year I had a midwifes hand up my vuh jay jay seeing how I was going" Then it progressed to my waters breaking in the middle of the night, then starting the drip, calling DH in, the announcement of the emergency c/s. Then ended up with us cutting the cake at 12.46pm (her time of birth). Teary a bit there! :rolleyes:
Sarah had a great day, she got her presents from Mummy and Daddy as well as Nonnas pressies. Had a play with them and then the chaos started with trying to get her down to sleep and get the party ready at my sisters. Did well though. It was great catching up with family and friends. And Sarah had a ball playing with all the kids and smooshing all the food up. Got some great pics of her smearing cake everywhere. Have to wait until we had back up north before I can post pics because stupid me forgot the to bring the cord down. :doh:
MM - I ended up using a Fijian minister in Fiji so that I had the beach feel but kept the churchy feel. We aren't religious but that was one of my requirements. tell them that God doesn't need people to be in his House to hear and bless you. It's your wedding and you get to decide how you want it. Stand firm.
Oh, and got another tattoo on Friday...just in time for Sarahs bithday. Will post pics of that too. Owies but pretty.

MM: i totally agree with Sherie on this one. i know that it is hard to do, but you gotta ignore them and go with what you want. our BIGGEST regret is the way our wedding panned out. we gave in to family cr*p and in the end the wedding became all about them and we didnt have a nice time. stick true to yourselves. if they dont play nice, then u prob dont want them there on the day anyway!
MD: ooohh yes! it was the healthy vibes that you sent! i can't really remember any day before thursday, but i can safely say that i am feeling better! although now i have the post illness low, which although predictable is not making it any easier to deal with.

AFM: well L is on an "over-tired i-sleep-for-no-one" hyperdelic dash around the house with a screaming, piercing yell to boot. both DH and i are kinda getting over it, so time to leave the house.
also we have poo issues (Leila's of course!! :p). we have a tiny tiny house and her poos have been permeating the air to a point where we are at our wits end! although we take her nappies straight to the bin or straight to the wash it just smells. i have no idea what she has been eating!! :o
Clare - they can be super smelly sometimes can't they, I find onion makes it really bad. So glad that you are feeling better.
Trill - glad that Alister had a good party and lucky him getting a wagon! I know what you mean about grumpy bum in the photos, we don't really have a good birthday shot of K, she is looking far too serious in them all!

Well we went to the emergency department last night. K had a temp from Friday afternoon and last night it wasn't dropping with panadol and a cool bath. So we went in (I think DH was more worried than me). Anyway, the doctor said she was fine, either a teething fever or reaction to MMR. She's not so warm today which is good. We were lucky, there was no-one there so we went straight in. We were back home an hour after we left, considering it is a 15 minute drive away I think that was really good!
DH is at cricket all day today so K and I have been having a lovely day together. She ran around the yard in the nude and played under the sprinkler this morning.

My eldest baby girl's just signed up for MSN (I suddenly feel about 10 years older LOL). Ah not a milestone to look forward too ladies. Although it's a further cementing of successful friendships for DD1 one so it's not all bad news.

We're planning to tiptoe thru the tulips tomorrow. Looking forward to it because there's supposed to be one of those baby animal patting pens, oooh can't wait to show E the baby animals!!
ETA Clare- peyoowee. I take it you mean an outside bin...? We have an inside bin with a sealed lid, I spray with that fridge vanilla stuff every couple of days when I empty it, usually not too bad. Provided you keep the lid shut tight. Everyone now and again it gets left open a tiny crack and the only solution is an open window!!

We had a great BBQ yesterday, everything went well and Lu was spoilt with pressies! A puppet of a rabbit in a hat was the biggest hit. She was showing off all day walking around in her Hawks jumper. lol (couple of pics on FB) It is amaing how quickly they master walking once they start, she is getting very confident now.
The cake was hit, i too have been chuckling at all the cake tanties that were going on around here. Fortunately we didn't have any fires, stabbing or throwing of cake. :P
Clare- Lu's poo has been unbearable stinky. I'm pretty sure she has had a virus though that was effecting them, so hoping it passes soon. Not good for the nausea! lol
Cally- Glad all is ok. Bit of a worry when the temp just keeps rising.
MD- You can come and pet loads of animals here on the funny farm anytime! lol The kids LOVED the puppies yesterday. The poor pus were sick of cuddles i think. Tulips sound gorgeuos, some great photo opportunities skipping throuhg the fields! BTW- i can't get 'everybody dance now' tune out of my head! That is gold.

Well we are all cleaned up and I have a house resembling a house again rather than the party aftermath it was this morning. We ALL had nanna naps this arvo too and I feel so much better for it. DH went in to work tonight so we're just having a lazy night with a slap up tea.
Alister the cheeky little monkey he is, was just STANDING in his wagon having a good old boogy around thinking he was pretty neat, but in the time it took me to get the camera, he sat down, looked at me and laughed! Ok brief recap of what the clairvoyant told me, she said I would be pregnant with a little girl in the next two months ( we arent planning on trying till Dec/Jan). She reckons I will have bad MS Christmas day lol. She said she sees me with 3 kids, the third being a boy. She said my little girl will throw lots of tantrums. She sees a job offer for me in the next six weeks. She also sees us moving into a new home in the next 5 years and that being "the" home. She thinks L will be a tradesman but not a sparky like DH and a very smart little boy. All in all things look good, I was very happy with the reading.
MM- I meant to say, just elope to Bail! It's not their wedding. i 'dissapointed' my inlaws by getting married on the deck of a yacht club, now i have 'dissapointed' them again by not getting Lu baptised/christened. But water off a ducks back, our family, our life, our decisions. Really it has nothing to do with them. Stand up for what you want love! You only get married once. ;)

As for the tattoo...this is my third. First is a little daisy on my hip to represent my freedom and independence when I turned 18. Second is a 'tramp stamp' (lower back) which is my star sign incorporated in a tribal looking thing. And the latest is Sarahs name on my inner left wrist. My life blood on my life blood.

AFM - SARAH HAS TAKEN HER FIRST STEPS! :dance:She took her first one last night while mum was watching her (so I missed that) but then took consecutive steps today. Maximum of 6 and she did it quite a few times thru-out the day. Yeah for my big girl. I was joking that she'd take her first steps on her birthday and she did. MD, I don't think I will ever be prepared for pre-teen MSN lol We are off to visit the in-laws next week and there is a little petting farm that I am quite excited about going to - it has all sorts of farm animals as well as ostriches and wallabies and I think W will love it.

MM, poo to your in-laws. Just half-joking mention that if it gets too stressful you could always elope, maybe if they think they will miss out altogether they might back off a bit? I didn't have any input from either set of parents for ours, helped that I was in a different country though lol.
Cally, glad that K was o.k. W always gets a fever after vaccinations. I haven't taken him for his last meningitis one because he is always really unwell for a couple of days after. Luckily we don't have any for a few more months yet.

Yay for everyone that celebrated a birthday in the last few days, good to hear all the parties went well and everyone had cake despite a few setbacks lol
We went out boating yesterday, W loves it. I was worried he would get bored in the boat all day but he lasted 6 hours without cracking it (even had a little nap near the end too). I have a friend and her 3 year old daughter coming up today for the rest of the week and then we are off to Southland to visit ILs so I probably won't be on much for a bit.
Oh, oh, nearly forgot - the other night William slept for 8 hours without waking!!! He woke at 10pm when I went to bed and 6am but nothing in between!!! Yaaayyyy!!

MD - 1st day school hols.. thinking of you. i hear the petting zoo at floriade is wonderful and best of all that CIT has early learning students there to look after the kids....!!!!! maybe you can leave them there all day LOL!! (I am joking). Tips froma friend that it opens at 10 so get there at 945 as it gets PACKED! (the zoo that is)

YAY!!!! ring sounds gorgeous. proposal beautiful and ILs - typical!!! ha ha!! dont let them push you around re wedding but at the same time, at the end of the day you will be married to your gorgeous DH!!! With our wedding (which was a huge event) i chose the no go areas - the things that were really importsnt to Dh and I and no one could mess with them and then let my mum and DHs mum come up with other ideas on the other things. like i didnt care about things like table decs (that much) or even flowers so giving them these thinsg to think about (i still had final choice) meant they felt reall yinvolved and important but they stayed away from the things i did really care about. worked for us.

Art - Yeah for W...sounds like you might have a little future sailor. And woohoo on the sleeping! Did that mean you still woke every few hours to see what was going on? If S sleeps for longer than usual I find myself checking her and almost pinching her to see if shes alright. :rolleyes:

sorry i've been so mia. lewis has been soooo sick. he's lost so much weight and is so miserable, i hate it. it's really testing dp and i. we've been fighting heaps. i'm really upset that he left me last weekend to go on an unnecessary boys 4 day weekend- stayed up till 5am drinking. then comes home tired and low tolerance- has to work huge hours as they've got heaps of work on atm. i'm bl88dy pg and sick with a sick baby- it's just all too much. he didn't know that we were going to get sick while he was away, but i just feel like he shouldn't be putting me in positions like that atm anyway, iykwim?? sorry for selfish vent post, i'm just really exhausted and over it all.
we ended up spending friday night down at the hospital emergency dept with lewis as he was just so lethargic and miserable, he wouldn't crawl or anything. he just couldn't keep anything down. i've been worried sick. he also won't let me put him down at all. i haven't had a shower in days. he won't sleep in bed without me, he has to lie on my chest on the couch at night. it's getting harder and harder to carry him around all the time as i'm bl99dy huge!!!
sorry, such a vent, i've just spent last night crying.

Big Hug to you - it sounds awful and i know how awful having a baby with gastro is, not to mention that you have been sick too and are preg.... i really wish i could do something for you. I assume the dr has told you all you can do for L food and drink wise, i did get some great info from my dr when N had it, so if you want that info pm me and i will pm you back with some tips. dont want to put tips here that you dont need....re the oobi clips for your little girl - i think anuty pregpan will have to send them to her when she is born!! whatever you have honey it will be a gorgeous baby with a wonderful mummy.
Have you tried having a shower with L? i had to do that when N had gastro, i thinkit made him feel better too.

he actually is doing a little better today. he just ate some raffertys and had a big drink of water. i'm so glad i didn't wean him yet, bfing has been keeping him alive!

You're not having a great run Rainy. You poor thing. Sleep deprivation, a sick boy and a missing husband is a sure fire recipe for tears. :comfort: i hope you are managing to get some rest and a little shut eye. How's L this am?

Ahh, Rainy. Don't fret my DH could probably teach your DH a big lesson on how to be immature and irresponsible. They just don't think and even when told they can't comprehend. It's because we are such strong women that they feel that we can cope with everything life throws our way. They forget that we need our man to lean on for help occassionally. I hope L continues to improve and that all the illness leaves your place for good. Sending big *blow that cr@p out the door* vibes.
