Rainy, yep E is one to one sleep on some days. If she has a good sleep and is cruising around 4.30 I don't try to put her down again, but if she's had a shorter sleep and is showing signs of wear around 4-4.30 I put her down again. Even if it means she goes to sleep at 5 and gets up 45 mins later for dinner. The MACH nurses would be having a fit but it works for us and she goes off to bed good as gold anytime after 7.30-8.00. Partly it's because I just can't face the arsenic hour by myself when she's too tired.
MD - LMAO you were a little rascal werent you!?
Rainy - M went through a one sleep a day phase for about 3 weeks, but now we are back to two. Sometimes even now she will have a random day where she just does the one. I say just go with the flow ;)
Arte - W is SO smart! Thats gorgeous of him saying pretty, would have melted your heart.
Kate - Hope you got S to sleep in the end, thats the worst when they get over tired and take forever to nod off.
Trillian - Well at least you managed to get in a couple of hrs this morning, nothing worse than sleep deprivation.
Cally - Thats very scary, I wonder why she didnt have her dog on a leash, or dont you have to? God I'd feel to bad as the dog owner. At least she apologised I guess. Glad to hear K was ok at childcare, and thats good that you are settling back into work well. Yay for your 1st pay day!!!
Pregpan - I read somewhere that as long as they are moving around, there is nothing to worry about and it sounds like N is well and truly off and getting into mischief! I wouldnt say M is walking, she is taking very wobbly steps though so I guess its only a matter of time.
Falguni - I KNOW Karma! And yes there was a bit around her mouth, so I think she did have a taste test but I was too disgusted to write that last night lol.
Well after 4 weeks at daycare, Maddie had never been healthier. However she had one day back this week and she has a flippen cold AHH. DP and I have vowed that the next child will be well planned, we will be more financially secure so I dont have to work & therefore put our children in care!! :wall:
 MM. I busted Lu picking sultanas out of a cable she laid on the floor..... too juicy to pass up obviously.
OMG :o Ange - that is gross but so what they do. Just add them all together for one hell of a 21st speech! Should start writing them all down now...
MD - As for you in the bath time! You were a terror but oh so funny. I can just imagine her face...:o I remember seeing a snickers bar look-a-like float past in a lake once. I almost ran on water trying to get away. Although that just made it want to follow me :wall:
Got S down finally...only for 30 mins tho and she is still crabby now. Fingers crossed for a good night.
Noni - I just realised that the closest toys r us is in Mt Gravatt...I'm in Bundy. Might have to see if someone down there can grab me one. Or see if I can find something similar up here or online
Off to finish packing but will try to pop back on later
Hello yummy mummies
Sorry I have been MIA, have been reading when I can but have missed so much.
PMSL at the poo stories. DH does bath/shower time here so I bet L doesn't poo until its my turn to bath him.
Started swimming lessons this week, he cried for most of it but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I cant wait till he is like the other kids in the class and loves it. I think DH might be ready to start TTC, now I am not sure if I am lol. Sorry for the lack of personals, I am off to bed.
Hey in my defence I was three years old and pretty much did everything my sister ever suggested to me (including all her dumb ideas like pushing her off a culvert, biting her...etc).
Ange, the sultana story beats the lot of them!
Hi everyone
thought i'd jump on and say hi. Haven't been a very good baby buddie lately. please forgive me!!!!
hopefully i'll find some time tomorrow to catch up with you guys and post some personals.
sweet dreams.
just did a quick skim - Md - did i read that you're a bellydancer? i'm going to be starting classes next week with some friends.
Hey Jaz! I love your new ticker pick, it's too cute! Is it just me though or does her hair look really red in that photo?
G, I do what MD does, 1 sleep is usually fine, but if need be I put him down for a second.
Good morning everyone
Trill - I think it must just be the photo - her hair is a mousy brown.
If it's ok with everyone, i'll just jump back in here. Going back through the thread to catch up is a bit daunting.
i hope i haven't missed any major events. :(
Happy birthday to Ella's Abigail who turned WUN today!! :happybirthday:
JaZaH - yep just jump on in. Um, major events (sorry if I've missed some) MM got engaged (woohoo!) and Pregpan's out of the TTC closet now. And there have been lots of birthdays involving a few acts of violence towards birthday cakes that didn't turn out PMSL! Yep I'm a bellydancer (though not since the pelvic instability came on, I couldn't dance for ages and I can only dance for a few minutes now before I start feeling it...bit of a pity really and quite ironic given everyone blarps on about how good bellydancing is in pregnancy)! I hope you really enjoy the classes, dress up as much as you can and really enjoy the experience.
Ok, just a quickie from me, Missy E discovered today what happens when you pull on the toilet paper roll...that paper just keeps on coming! LOL Found it strewn all over the ensuite this morning. DD2 was crabby as this afternoon when I picked her up - later discovered she hadn't eaten her lunch (a cup of soup and a handful of grapes doesn't cut it). She is old enough to know better!
Having a MD party in here . Where is everybody?
Hi Md!!!!!!
for the first time in ages i've been able to jump on here quite a bit today and no one has been around for me to chat too.
how are things going for you at the moment? What is DH's EDA?
Hello lovelys.
Hasn't it been quiet in here today.
Jaz had a look at your FB pics, your girls are gorgeous.
MD L has discovered the toilet but not he toilet paper, usually I find him playing with the lid but twice now he has had his hand in there trying to reach in ewww.
Well I have had such a boring day, DH has been at the air show ALL day so L and I got some cleaning done. I am on strike tomorrow!
Hi katie - thanks :)
Hannah loves the toilet too, and has just discovered the toilet brush. lovely.
She also likes to take the lid off the bin in the kitchen and see what she can find to munch on. I have to make sure that i've shut the door on the washing machine too, because she likes to suck the water that's left in the rubber rim.
hope you enjoy your day off tomorrow.
Yes another one here who likes the toilet! A couple of weeks ago I found M standing at the toilet, she'd grabbed a rubber ducky from the bath and plopped it into the toilet. Poor rubber ducky got fished out and put into the bin hehe!
Jazmum - Oh the toiletbrush....we've had a couple of encounters with it too, yuck!
MD - Not much longer till your DH comes home, seems he is over being away from his family too from what I read on facebook. :(
Katie - I like your cleaning strike idea, might have to do the same tomorrow.
Quick update with us:
Well M is getting more adventurous with taking steps, she is doing so well I'm very proud. Unfortunately she brought home a cold from daycare this week, and we are all sick. I am SOOOO over daycare. Really noticing it too as she just had 4 weeks off and its the healthiest she had been in awhile.
We are going to Melbourne from the 11th - 17th December, staying with family over there, I cant wait!!!!
As for this darn wedding, I am so close to booking flights to Vegas HAHA....I cant believe the amount of money that can be spent on a wedding, its madness?!
MM - I know what you mean about the cost of things, as you as you say the "w" word the cost automatically doubles. We got away with some bargains because we booked with a brand new restaurant (function room) and they quoted us a really good price which rapidly went up afterwards once they realised what they could be charging LOL! I also saved money by buying local flowers (gerberas and orchids in the NT) and asking friends with a nice car to drive us (not a limo but they were really chuffed). We still have ppl telling us how nice our wedding was so it's not all about how much money you spend, remember the important thing is to enjoy the day and make it special by what you do and how you share your joy with the ppl who are there, kwim? Oh I do hope my DH hasn't written anything embarrassing on FB...my page is not loading this morning so I'm starting to get worried LOL.
Ah toilets, yes E loves to bang the lid. I went through a stage where I was paranoid about her falling in and drowning...I don't know if that's even possible or just more of my weird mummy anxiety. I got smart with the toilet brush early, bought one of those with a cylinder that it sits in and it's up on the windowsill!
Katie, enjoy your strike day!! Are you following the footy or just chilling out? They day seems half over already because of the clock change!
JaZaH - it's 3 weeks tomorrow (if all goes to plan and I know better than to think that he'll be home when he says he will!!) It'll be weird cos my H will be on camp so it will be just us and the baby for a couple of days. He gets home late at night too so it'll be freaky for E to wake up the next morning and suddenly the daddy man's there like he's never been anywhere else! Hey are you following OzIdol?? ABBA special tonight, YAY we'll be singing along here! Thinking of getting some takeaway so I can throw the wrappers in the bin and just sit on the couch.
Rainy how are you going my dear, I hope you're having a nice weekend and chilling out a bit!
Trill how are the kids now? I hope you've been able to put your vax away for a few days!
Ok well I'd better go and see if I can corrall my day into something productive!
MD, since neither mine or DH's team is in the footy this year I cant really be bothered. I wish we had daylight savings here.
MM Poor little miss being sick again. I know what you mean about the costs of weddings. Yay for Maddie taking more steps its so much fun to watch isn't it.
Jazmum eww at the bin lol, no doubt Logan will discover ours soon.
Have had a wonderful day today, went to the beach this morning and then headed out to the shops on my own for a little while this afternoon before kicking back and having a beer with dh. Has been a very wonderful birthday weekend (was my birthday on Friday but didnt tell anyone he he he).
I hope you have all had a good weekend, it has been quiet in here so I assume you all have.
Happy birthday Katie, you sneaky sneaky birthday girl! :happybirthday:! Hope you've had a lovely weekend and have been spoiled the way you deserve to be!
Happy Birthday Katie!!
MD - wow, only 3 weeks to go, that should fly!!
Jazmum - welcome back, it's hard to keep up sometimes isn't it.
After all the poo talk the other day, DD did one just before her bath on the floor - luckily it was the night we introduced the bathroom door stays closed rule (she has been running around the house getting overexcited when we say bathtime so we were trying to contain her).
Enjoying our long weekend here. Got some lovely rain and I've mulched half of the garden and we'll probably head out for a lovely walk after she wakes up.
Hope everyone is good.
You're norti Katie!!!!! I'm glad you had a wonderful day though.
MD, nothing offensive on FB at all ;) Although he did make a comment about your status.
Another one here with a kid absolutely fascinated with the loo. He gets in there all the time and if I don't realise in time he sticks the hands in for a bit of a splash. I tell ya, the toilet would have to be the cleanest thing in the house LMAO. I do it every day now.
And the kids are fine. Alister's still not 100%, he's not sick anymore, but still not back to where he was with eating etc yet. The other kids don't have a terribly brilliant appetite yet either.
Hi Girls,
Katie- Happy Birthday for Friday...:happybirthday:
Well girls today I have aged another year Funny really cause everyone is asking me how Old Iam and I tell them I am 18 with 18years experience..lol DH has suprised me and updated my wedding set...OMG its so beauitful I feel really really lucky. The kids got me some flowers as well as the rings too. So sweet. Going out for dinner tonight with all the family so that will be lovely.
MM-WTG M on walking...
Jazmum- Yep Liv likes the bin too... lol Hasn't realised about the toilet yet.. but I am sure wont be long.
Ooops better go I have to take X to the Dr as he now has a ear infection...
Hello to everyone and have a wonderful day...
:happybirthday: Leanne. What a wonderful DH you have, your a lucky woman.
Hi everyone
Hannah is having a super long sleep, and dh has taken Zoe to gymnastics, so i thought i'd catch up with my cyber pals :)
md - 3 weeks -must still seem like ages away to you. I hope he comes back on time for you . I missed out on Idol last night, but i guess i'll catch snippets of it tonight.
katie - belated birthday wishes to you!!!!!
cally - thanks :) How are you finding being back at work? How many days are you working?
leanne - Happy Birthday to you!!!! You lucky girl.
hi to everyone else!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Leanne!!!! Sounds like you scored well!
Happy Birthday Leanne!! :birthday2: Hope you have a sooperliciously fabulous day. I bet the jewellery AND flowers has already gone a long way to making it that way!
Also Happy Birthday to Fianne's little Max!! :happybirthday:
JaZaH - oh idol was soooooo good, standout performance was Thanh who scored a touchdown from Marcia of all people!! Roshani was really good as well. Yep you're right, 3 weeks is still an eternity but now that I'll be spending a least 10 days of that writing a JOB APPLICATION (!:o!:hide:!:juggle:!) it'll go quicker.
Cally phew for your new bathroom door rule! LOL
Oh I'm so relieved about FB...my internet was hardly working at all yesterday, the helpline was jammed too so it must've been our ISP. *sigh*
Question I've been meaning to ask everyone - have you weeded out the brand new baby toys or are your bubs still playing with them?
Happy Birthday Max!! I hope you've had a wonderful day so far sweetie.
I am gathering the strength needed to tackle that job Marydean. He plays with them because they are there, but if I took all the baby-baby toys he wouldn't notice. I was going to donate all of ours to the children's ward at the hospital, but keep a small box JIC we need baby toys here kwim?
Happy Birthday Leanne!! Happy Birthday Max!!
MD - We still have all the toys in a washing basket. The rattles and things have fallen to the bottom and she isn't that interested in them, but frankly, we have so little storage space here it is easier to leave them there!!
Trill - great idea taking them to the hospital!
Jaz - I am doing 5 days a week. I wish they would tell us when they were going to have a mega nap, we had a 2.25 hour one this morning.
DH is currently up the ladder cleaning out the gutters. We just had a big storm go over and ended up with a leak inside! When we looked up on the roof, the gutters were chockers.
happy birthday katie, leanne and max!!!
md- what???? have i missed something???? are you getting a job???
sherie- nice idea about the hospital
Well actually Rainy, technically I *have* a job, just not in Adel! The orgn I work for has just advertised positions and they are few and far between at the moment after budget cut backs so it has forced my hand. I was hoping I could wait another month or so before starting with the job hunt but it's come looking for me instead. *sigh* There will be a lot of negotiation involved since I only want to work three days a week. At my current job they would've been happy to give me whatever hours I want because they know I"m good ;) so I'm going to have to simultaneously dazzle them with my brilliance AND convince them they want me so bad that they'll have me as a part timer!
Happy belated birthday Katie. Happy birthday to Leanne and Max. All these September birthdays, any one would have thunk it co-incided with the festive season! ;)
Leanne- oooo inside leaks are never good! any damage?
MD- I doubt you'll have a problem dazzling anyone! GL. I got the baby toys out in the last few weeks and popped them away. Mainly b/c she has too many toys and i wanted to declutter the toy corner!
Raino- You and the little man all better love?
Jaz- Super cute ticker pic, love it!
Took Lu to the snow on the weekend, she loved it. I'm glad it was the end of the season though, makes me grumpy being there and not being on the slopes. Well, except in a toboggan, which hardly counts!
Lu was really showing her love last night, had a slight regurgitation of chicken from dinner, she had a bit of a chew, then got some out and tried to put it in my mouth! No thanks! So sweet arn't they?
I'm gagging at the mere thought of that effort LOL.
Marydean, I'm sure you've run the whole gamut of emotions on this one hun  You're going to impress the pants off them and they will be begging you to work for them.
Cally, We've had a few quick storms pass over too today. I hate getting up to clean gutters when it's raining. The leak wasn't too bad though?
md- they'll love you, i'm sure. is it in a library of some sort? 3 days a week sounds way too hectic for me! ha
ange- yeah we're both better thanks hun. he's just slipped back into not sleeping too well again, which isn't too great. how are you going on our pram hunt? i want it in 'blue camo' colour. what about you?
now where is arte lately??
please feel sorry for me, i have my pita pil coming on friday for the wknd. my mil hates me and is a stupid biatch!
Noice new Av raino! I feel your pain my MIL was here not long ago. I think Blue Camo is being discontinued so you better try and find one in stock.... I havn't been to the baby gallery eyt, but i will! soon!
Trill- i meant to say, great idea about the hossy, they are always on need of toys, clothes etc. I'm sure they'd be very greatful.
Ooohhh Rainy I love your new av.
you can thank sherie for my new avy. it's hot isn't it?
i've found a place getting rid of blue camo ones for $479 so i might grab one
bargain! go get it...... nice work.
Which pram are you getting Rainy?
Oh I miss baby shopping, you girls are so lucky lol.
do you think that's a good price? add on doubles kit $92 and postage $10.
it says it's version 1 instead of version 2 as well, but i can't for the life of me work out what the difference is
eta* katie i'm thinking of getting a phil and teds sport
if the clairvoyent is right you'll be shopping for a pink pram soon!
LMAO of Rainy maybe but I dont think so.I cant wait to start TTC though.
Ange are you getting the Phil and Teds too?
