Afternoon Girls,
Clare- clear skys here in brissy today.
MD- I am so happy that your DH is now home with you all. Livi was like that when DH was only away for 2 days.
Rainy- Yep we really have to do our wills too. We have already arranged with my Cousin who is like my sister that the kids go to her and we get hers if anything happens to her and her DH.
PP-WTG on 2 dresses they sound wonderful
JG- Congratulations on having a boy.
we are about to have the storm here!!
ooh just saw crap weather for next few days.. hmm may have to buy a little gorgeous something as a cover up with my dresses!! ah ha ha ha ha!!!
All this talk about will's and custodians of our kids... We have our wills done, but haven't specified who we want to have the kids. I would rather the IL's have them as opposed to my family because 1 my Dad is completely mental and out of touch with reality and they would grow up to be anti-government/anti-establishment losers like he is. Mum's health is in such a poor state of affairs I can't even trust her to look after the kids for a few hours JIC she falls into a diabetic coma (yep, sadly she takes very poor care of her insulin dependent diabetes) and I am more concerned that I will have to end up taking care of my half brother (who is nearly 14) as his father has cancer. So the IL's would give them much better stability both emotionally and financially, but they are getting old and MIL has a minor heart condition too. But they would be raised the way I know we are raising them now kwim? We have made sure that we have very hefty life insurance policies though to help take care of them financially too so it isn't so much of a burden on whoever takes them.
Anyway, onto brighter subjects.
MD, I"m sure it wouldnt' even be a few days before E is comfortable with her Dad again. I hope he wasn't hurt by it though kwim? And I"m sure you did great with the interview.
Katie sorry you aren't feeling much better today  I will check out his pics shortly.
Clare, L sounds delightfully gorgeous. She sure is a little pocket rocket then isn't she? I envy you being in a tall building watching lightening - I love watching storms pass over. We might be in for a sound and light show later too, but I don't think much rain is forecast though.
G good for you for throwing the card away. Seeing that vindicates what you've been feeling about her and you don't need to waste a minute more on that piece of work. I just can't believe that someone as toxic as she is could give birth and nurture someone like your DP.
Kate, how was Sarah today?
Katie- Those pics are great.
thanks for the heads up on the weather girls! i just ran out and pulled all the washing in. no rain here yet though.
sherie- yes i know it's unbelievable that mil produced dp- they are so completely different.
katie- your photos are unreal. you have a real talent. do you have an exxy camera? the camera my bff uses when she takes all the photos is worth $65000!!!
Big day in the city with the MIL. I survived. Woohoo. I am exhausted, traipsed all over the place today, got a couple of new maternity bras and some shoes for Lu, but nothing too exciting.
Clare- i think a deshlumpadinking meet up is a fab idea. :D Seems like Raino has all the contacts. That storm was very tropical today, felt like QLD weather.
MD- A friend has a hubby who goes away for long stints at a time, and she finds the adjustment period hard when he gets home. But as Trill said it never takes long to get the team back into the swing of things. In a few days it wil lbe all back to normal. ;)
Rainy- The card is just another example of her psychological insufficiencies. Good on you for binning it. Did you get some grape vines? I should really get A into G and organise a will. I'm having trouble organising my sock draw ATM, let alone anything else!
Rainy - $65 000. Did I read that right?! If so then Holy *****.
Sarah had another rough night last night and that was with her second sleep. Do you girls reckon that it could have something to do with giving her 120mls of cows milk before her nightly breastfeed to sleep?
Way to go with those gorgeous beach pics as well. I need to give that a go myself I think. Although, I'm sure they'll be nowhere near as good.
I'm off to the doctors tomorrow to get Sarahs jabs and to make my official complaint. Firing up now in preparation.
Kate I must have missed something whats going on with the Dr?
ETA It was with regards to breastfeeding wasn't it (or am I totally confused lol).
Rainy my camera isn't to exxy, no where near as exxy as your friends. My whole studio didn't cost me that much.
Still feeling yucky but managed to go out and get some Christmas shopping done. We sign off on our Wills next week, we had them drawn up a few weeks ago along with taking out life insurance policies. Its something we kept saying we would do when L was born. I dont think I can keep my eyes open any longer so I am off to bed.
Katie, is there a happy reason for feeling sick lately??? Cool pics
just a quick one to say, have been thinking about you lovely ladies here, will try & catch up & sorry its been awhile.
i have plenty of time the nxt few weeks with the boys having a viral infection (quite possbily Hand Foot & Mouth) & not being able to go to daycare etc. Interesting!, esp for me (not to sound selfish).
Jack is learning to draw & is fasinated by the mouse pointer on my screen. Right now he is sitting on my lap chucking a tanty over something, quite haven't worked out what yet. But the pen & food are on the floor.
jack now has 11 teeth, is starting to, very slowly, walk & is getting more teeth.
Rice cracker had no flavour left, he wanted a new one!
I feel like i'm going a bit nuts, so i apologise now if I seem to rave on.
Will catch up as best I can soon.
Till then, TTFN:
Who's celebrating Halloween 2nite?
Arte LMAO no there is no happy reason I am sick, its just the flu. You girls will be the first to know when I have happy news.
Andie sounds like you could use some hugs. I hope the boys get better quickly.
Feeling a little better this morning, but was up most of the night with a blocked nose. Is anyone taking their kids trick or treating? I have bought some lollies as we usually get a few kids knocking on the door (and a few dresses up teens).
Hi there guys!!
ooh Oz I dont have you on my FB!!! arrghhh!
hmm not sure about the treating tonight. i know where we lived in canberra it was a big deal as we had loads of diplomats and americans livign in the street so we had to go the whole hog...but dear ol' brunswick just doesnt come across as the place where you would want to go treating... (ie the knock at the door is probably a junkie LOL!)
andie: HI!!! totally get it! we had hand a foot at L's kindy and it just hung on and on...yesterday a few bubs had to go home with the runs so we are being extra cautious...losing those kindy days throws you out a fair bit as you just dont get done the work (or recuperation) that you need. so am feeling your pain! :)
kate: hope all is well at the GP today.
Ange: did you find some nice maternity bras in town? i always had the 'nanna' style ones that are oh so glamorous...saw the 'cake' ones at the expo...dont know how much they are but for next bubs i am soo getting one! although i may avoid the suspenders...
Rainy: we didnt get much rain down here...just loads of lighting and wind...what about you guys?
AFM: well on the leila front all is good. she is a bit bossy with other kids, but we'll just see how that progresses (bit like her father the MIL tells me...).
the not-so-nice news is that my Oma (grandma) is unwell. my Opa had to take her to hospital at 2am this morning as she couldnt stop shivering. the poor thing has not coped well since her sister died and told me the other day that she is very depressed. so this physical breakdown is i think a symptom of a mental meltdown. i might have to head up there next week to help out...
hi everyone
clare- sorry to hear about oma, hope she's ok, poor dear.
we got no rain here. it never seems to rain here anymore- very strange.
no one ever comes trick or treating around here, one of the good things about being sort of isolated on the mountain. if anyone ever knocks on our door and we're not expecting anyone we completely freak out and think it must be the police.
cindy- how's everything going with your pg. i got the sense that maybe you were a little tiny bit disapointed about #2 being a boy? how you are feeling about it all?
i'm off to lunch today with some mums i used to work with. they're all on maternity leave too. it's a bit weird cos i was never really really good friends with any of them before i became pg iykwim? they all seemed to be way more mature than me and they're all married and sort of have their sh4t together a lot more than me iykwim? anyway, should be interesting, they're all really nice ladies.
Rainy; that's one of the pleasures of having kids. we get to meet ppl that previously we would of had no chance of either meeting or connecting to (like here on BB!). it's a great way to have the world expand and grow for us. hope you have lots of fun! (and if they're not nice, at least you had a nice lunch! LOL!)
i think i have almost forgotten the smell of rain....
Clare- yeah, actually i got two new styles that are actually half nice! Still not the best shape in the world, but without underwire what can expect. Sick of the sauage boob though! i also got 2 hotmilk ones in the mail yesterday, so all bra'd up.
Sorry to hear your Oma is sick, hope it is nothing too serious.
Rain- Me perception is always that people have their crap together more than me, but i think in reality some people are better at making it seem that way than others! Have a nice lunch.
Catching up on some washing today. We have an infestation of spiders and i am freaking out that they are whitetails and will be hiding in my piles of clothes everywhere! They look like whitetails, they have no web, but no white tip on the tails...... :dunno: Anyway they are big and ugly. Off for another load. x
oooh hot milk ones look sooo nice too!
yeah we are really paranoid about the whitetails. DH got bitten a few years ago and his whole right side of his body went all blistery and purple (he still has scars!). if he gets bitten again it can be even more dangerous as the body cant purge the venom so it has an accumulative effect.
they love linen so make sure to shake your sheets out when you take them off the line (at least that's what we were advised to do...)
Clare- the hotmilk are lovely. I got the PJ's too, needed some retail therapy! There was a really nice new style mat. bra in Myer, it was black with ribbon trim. It was hot, unfortunately it only went up to a D, and my funbags need a DD to hold em up. :( Wow, sounds like your DH had a bad reaction, i'll be shaking like a madwoman, thanks for the tip.
Lu was sitting really quietly looking at something behind the curtain, i was watching her and wondered what she was looking at out the window. Went over for a look and there was a HUGE black spider. Biggest one yet. So i rang a local pest man and he's coming to have a look. I'm not really into spraying my house, but he assures me it is all plant based and safe. Will do a bit more reaserch into the spray and find out what the spider is. But thinking it might be a good idea. They are everywhere.
Katie- i can't see any pics on your FB profile...... am i looking in the wrong spot, or am i friends with a different Katie?!
Sorry Ange all fixed now.
I cant wait for DH to get home, I am going straight to bed the minute he walks in the door.
Ange, I'm a bit anti-pest spray and went for years in Darwin of all places without ever using it, but spiders are the one thing I make an exception for. This house was infested when we moved here, I was literally finding and killing 2-4 spiders (of every horrible description, whities, blackies, redbackies) EVERY DAY (!) So the landlords sprayed and it was good for a few years, only had it done again last year when we started to notice the numbers creeping up again, including finding a redback inside the house, not a good combination with a crawling baby. So get it done now and you'll find it's good for a few more years, you soooo don't have to spray every year, esp if they do under the house and in the roof cavity too.
Wooweee about your new brazzies. I've been on a bit of an underwear junket lately, got myself a few nice ones (wired), but still wearing the dready old mat bras every day. I suspect we're fairly close to weaning, it just doesn't seem worth going out and getting an entire new set.
Andie, Oh i know how wearing it is when you don't get your time out. I am feeling for you, sister . Hope they're recovered quickly and back into care! We're not doing anything for halloween, DH and I are going out tonight for our FIRST grownup nighttime date since my birthday LAST year (nearly 14 months) so the trick or treaters will be knocking on our door in vain. We've told DD1 she can have a halloween themed sleepover next weekend, she has a cookbook with all these cool things in that she's desperate to make for it! I don't think they'll care that it's not actually the date!
E had her needles this morning, seems to be pulling up ok from them, I could be eating my words tonight though,
AFM - well BLERGH at the moment, really struggling with waving DH off every morning to work, I just need him here and I need to have a holiday from my domestic responsibilities. SAHM burnout. Add to that my blood tests have come back with something wacko on the liver function tests so have to see the dr about that, hoping it's not something spectacular like hepatitis or more likely fat liver issues, like that huge enormous dead man that weird bald german sliced open on the show that Jamie Oliver did. Might explain though why I'm wide awake at night when I should be sleeping (!!!)
big hugs to md
quickie from me i'm in a rush- check out my gallery- lewis reclining on his special 'couch' lol
MD - Oh no thats not good hope the doc can sort it out for you soon? As for feeling burntout, you poor thing you have good reason to feel that way. You've been parenting on your own for the past few months, we all know how hard that can be, and you've done SO WELL!! Keep your chin up, make sure this weekend you find time for yourself & leave the kids with DH. No doubt he'll want to spend lots of time with them. So happy he is back btw.
Rainy - Now did I miss the second suprise, have you revealed it yet? Hope little bubby in the tummy is doing well, and L of course!! I know what you mean about making new friends since being pregnant/having a child, I never had anything in common with my SIL before children & now that we are both mothers, we just get on like a house on fire haha.
Falguni - Hope you sort the spider issue. We've had a few freak outs as the red backs are coming out to play now the weather is warming up. They stay outside but still I have to watch M like a hawk when we go out the back. How are you feeling btw?
Clare - Oh no hope your Oma gets well soon!
Katie - I must say those pics on facebook are gorgeous, what a talented photographer you are. Guess it also helps that you had two gorgeous little boys to take pics of, love the bums hehe.
Trillian - I must have missed the will talk. You are very smart to have decent life insurance policies. I must admit Tim & I dont have a will or life insurance, something I've been meaning to do. Slack!
I bought my wedding dress today, I blew the budget a bit. Ah well its a special day right? We went to an el cheapo bridal store first and the dresses just did not cut it. Well the next store was more up market but definately not an expensive bridal store. I managed to get a gorgeous designer gown that was originally $2200 for $900 - which is still expensive I guess but I felt a million dollars in it. Its seriously stunning!!!
hey everyone just a quick post to pop on and say all is good just been busy :)
hope everyone is well ad i hope to catch up soon but right now bubba is sookin coz mummy isnt playing with her lol..
Ok, I've only just started going back a few pages & I'm sorry I have still missed heaps.
Everyone who has been sick or unwell, I hope you are feeling better now.
I hope babes have been good for you all & are suprising you daily with the little things they are starting to do.
Sorry I haven't caught up properly.
Katie: thx. Yes I think I need some hugs myself.
Clare: I hope your Oma is okay. It must be hard for her. & I hope you are okay to.
Rain: I hope you enjoyed your lunch. Its funny how a pg can bring unsuspecting people together.
Marydean: Thx. Its only been a few days & even though I expected I knew what I was in for, its still quite hard. I'm so used to them going down at the same time & Alex being out to it for 2 to 3 hours. Now, Jack goes in the morning & Alex goes for maybe an hour & half in the afternoon. So by 5pm, I feel all burnt out. I'm starting to fall all emotional & wish I had my ex-DH around for a cuddle. I'm crying reading what I actually wrote. Sorry.
I hope the Dr can give you some answers.
MM: congrats on the purchase of your wedding dress.
AFM: i'm off to bed whilst i have the chance to. hoping we have a good nite tonight & not have Alex roll out of my bed again :(. oops.
Nite all, hope the morning finds you all well.
Hi ladies, been flat out at work the last two days. So Hamish has had some nice 'daddy' time. We are very lucky that we are able to juggle mine and Joel's shifts so one of us is at home with H at any one time. The benefits of working at the same place I suspose.
Rainy - Disappointment is probably not the right word but yes I would have loved to have gone out and bought cute pink 'girlie' things and do pigtails etc......but that's it. I can think of lots of advantages of having two boys and am just happy that all is healthy etc but there is the tinyest part of me that hoped for a girl.
Madsmum - WOW how exciting, $900 is a great bargin for a dress that makes you feel that good. Do you have much more planning to do ?
MD - Hope E has a good night and no ill effects from her jabs. H was fine, I was really surprised as he got a temp and was grizzly with the others. Hope you get some R n R over the weekend, will DH be home to do domestic duties ??
Falguni - How did you go with the spiders ?? Joel is petrified of spiders - it's quite funny actually. lol (thinking of the last time he jumped out of the moving car cos he saw a spider - lol)
Cassius - Hope your Oma is feeling better soon. Does she live far from you if you need to go help out ??
Thanks for all the congrats on our boy news !
It's so hot here tonight, will be hard to sleep I think.
Hi everyone
Have had a busy week, so haven't had time to keep up with you all. I have read all your news, but i'm a bit sleepy and so can't quite remember all the personals that i had in my head while I was reading.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)
eta - Katie I couldn't see any new photos either, just your profile shots.
JG: I have two boys & I agree, it definately has its advantages. I hear you on the the pink clothes tho. I hope your son is born healthy.
AFM: I had two restless toddlers in my bed so I havent had much sleep, let alone sanity!
BBL
JG I kinda understand, I felt a little that way when I found out I was having another girl instead of a boy (wanted to give DH a 'pigeon pair' LOL) but it didn't last long. The reality of the child you get and how much you love them makes everything else fade into the distance!
Andie, hang in there hun! Is there someone (a family member or close friend or ex-DH) who wouldn't mind taking the kids for an afternoon to give you a break? Just to keep you going!
AFM - well I've been placated by the promise of a quick trip to the coast. Selected a place near the beach AND there's a big deep bath so that's all I need really. Oh and some alcohol (scoofed down three large glasses at dinner last night and felt much happier about my lot in life so contemplating becoming a short-term alcoholic, that'll really stuff my liver up good and proper). Did I mention I'm premenstrual? :pms: Haha I've told DH I'm on strike too, not doing *anything* domestic until I fancy.
MD: unfort not, i've left myself in a bit of a pickle. the only friend I cld ask has a toddler herself & the dr said the boys aren't allowed hear him. I am stubborn & refuse to move back to QLD cos i'm not emotionally ready to be there. So where I am, I really only have family daycare as my seclusion. Things will get better. Just have to get thro the short term.
anyways, i have to think bout stripping my bed as it has choc chip biscuit droll thro it & I'm going to think about setting up a single bed for alex has he is almost too short for his toddler (cot) bed
thanks for the support.
Big hugs to Andie!
MD - Well done on your strike. The little coast getaway sounds like just what you need.
i wanna go to the coast too!!! i'll bring the champers shall I????! LOL!
just had a 1st birthday party. leila is a little grot ATM. ate watermelon, strawberries, hommus, THEN decided with it all drooling down her front to dig holes in the dirt and pour dirt on the younger bubs....no more invites me thinks!! LOL!
ooppss, the terror is angry, BBL...
MD a trip tot he coat sounds really nice. You have done such a great job over the last 3 plus months and its no wonder your feeling burnout. Hows the strike going?
Andie how are the boys doing? How are you feeling?
Jaz sorry fixed up FB. I forget that when I add new friends to also add them to the list of people who can see my photos as not all my friends can see them.
JG my uncle is scared of spiders and jumped out a moving car also, reading about Joel made me think of that and gave me a good chuckle.
Clare if you pm me your details I will add you to FB, or let me know and I can PM mine. Might put some pics in my gallery. How is your Oma?
Sherie love the new AV. I will have to upgrade my membership, ive been meaning to do it for ages.
Still a bit blocked up here but slowly on the mend. I have had a complete mind blank, I am sure there was soemthign I wanted to say. Oh well I guess it wasnt very important lol.
new thread time again gorgeous ones and it's the big 4-0! https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1494635
