Hayley, sorry I missed your special day yesteday - Happy Birthday!!! When you meet the celebrant make sure he can say your name correctly - the only thing that went wrong at our wedding was that the celebrant announced us Mr and Mrs G pronounced incorrectly. Grrrrr.
Noni, fingers crossed for you
MD, glad the sleepover went well and that H has a nice friend. ONLY TWO MORE SLEEPS TO GO!!!!!!! Could Miss E have some teeth on the way?
Well, I had a moderate melt down yesterday and DH took W out for an afternoon so I got a couple of hours to myself. I am having a bit of a hard time adjusting to only having one nap a day for free time. I am hoping that DH will make it a regular event. It isn't that I don't appreciate that I get to stay home with W but it is long days and no breaks. Apart from quick trips to the supermarket, DH has really only looked after W when I am there but he is well and truely old enough to go out with DH now. I feel a lot better just being able to do some of the things that I have been wanting to do for ages - I got out the sewing machine and took up the bottom of some pants I have had for about 5 months. Unfortunately now I have lost a few kilos and they are a bit baggy lol.
Sorry to everyone I have missed
-
LOL Arte, sounds like we really do need to take that holiday together ;) Alister goes with DH out and about the place quite a bit - going around the sheep etc. It might only be for half and hour or so, but if you hook in, you can really get a lot done in that time.
G, Alister has 10, nearly 11 teeth now - 6 up top inc 2 molars and 4 down the bottom, with the 11th (a molar) trying to come through. With the hats, I got one for Alister the other week just from a kids clothes shop and it has the draw string to keep it on and he can't get it off no matter how hard he tries, so he just gives up now. PP might have them, but it's hard to find them with a decent wide brim.
-
Rainy- We should have gone to a play centre today. I was looking for something to do. DH was working, AGAIN. He didn't get home till about 10pm last night. They are cutting silage/haylige and it always seems there is some kind of F-up and he's been getting home at all hours. Anyway, shouldn't whinge, some DH's are home for looooong stints at a time, aint that right MD. How many sleeps? 2?
I ended up in Lilydale as there was a market on, but it was crap! Good to get out, we hung out in the playground for a couple of hours.
Arte- i am really hearing you on the constant long days. Again shouldn't whinge, i don't know how you girls with more than one do it, or those with hubby's away. I just feel like i need a break occasionally. I had my first baby free day last weekend and it was lovely to have a little time to myself. I really feel it at times like this when DH leaves at 6 and comes home after 8pm.
Trillian- WOW on all the little man's teeth! No molars here yet, but she has been clingy and grumpy, maybe there are on the way.
I'm making a mango avocado and chicken salad for dinner tonight, another craving!
-
Ok, PREGGY LADIES - I've got a heap of leftover sposy breast pads (nuk and pigeon I think) so I'm happy to post them to whoever wants them. If you all want them I will divide them up equally. Share the love around  PM me.
-
Hi everyone
MD - sounds like you've started the pre move clean out! Glad that H has found a little friend, shame you'll be moving soon - fingers crossed she has heaps of new friends at the next school. Hope the arrival tomorrow goes down without any problems and you're sitting on the couch holding hands again!!
Trill - wow, what a lot of teeth! We're up to 8 here, 4 top and bottom - no sign of molars yet though!
MM - Happy Birthday!! Glad you had a good day. How was your celebrant meeting?
Rainy - I got K a great hat from Target with a good brim. Also has some elastic in the band which makes it last a bit longer I find. I just bought some toggles and some ribbon so it couldn't be pulled off. She loves her hats, puts them on and wanders around the house with them!!
Kate - ahhh, Tupperware..... K went through my cupboard tonight and it was strewn across the kitchen floor. I love the rocknserves - not a fan of the new colour (I have the blue ones) but I do like the new 1L size. All my 600mL are looking like they might be a bit small with this extra mouth in the house! Oh, that 5am wake up is bad!
Cass & Pregpan - enjoy the big race next week!!
All is good here. Had to rescue a lizard today from the cat and then a currawong - and I'm really not good with reptiles! DH looked after DD at the cricket - she kept moving the boundary markers - and I went and had a nice wander around a nursery and got myself some new plants for all our new garden. Will try and put them in tomorrow morning before it gets too hot. I think DD is settling in better to childcare now - yesterday was less than a minute of crying when we left so that was nice.
-
I am so bored tonight. I have read all the posts and cant remember anything that was written.
Cally how nice having some time to yourself today. Its good to hear K is settling in at CC better.
Kate I love Tupperware too, I almost got into selling it but decided not to.
Arte I so hear you on needing a break. I love when DH just takes L outside with him for half hour and I can sit in peace and do what ever I want.
Rainy we got L a wide brimmed hat form the chemist. He also has a cap and one of those cap types with the flap at the back. He seems to love his cap. L is always smothered in sunscreen.
Gosh I really cant remember much else lol.
I got a tone of cleaning done today which means I can just veg out tomorrow. Maybe I will head out for some window shopping and leave L with DH to watch the motor racing.
-
LOL Katie, my DD learnt to watch motor racing with DH very early on! Sunday arvo = mummy goes out and catches up with friends!
V jealous of all the babies who love their hats. K we got ours at the chemist too, it's an organic cotton legionnaire style, huge brim, E HATES it with a vengeance.
Cally I might try putting some toggles on E's hat, it's a bit tricky to tie when she's squirming and bellowing! Still 2 sleeps until DH to get home. I LOL'd at K moving the boundary markers. So cute
-
morning everyone
thanks for all your good luck wishes, im still feeling sick but idk if its just that i have a bug or something, am being careful not to work myself up because i do it everytime thinking that i am when im not haha.. af is due tmw, i was almost sure it had come this morning coz of cramping but nope so i spose i will know soon enough...
md - ashas not a fan of her hat either sometimes we will be lucky tho and she will get distracted and forget shes wearing it haha.. yay 2 sleeps!!
katie - hope you have a nice relaxing veg out day
cally - glad dd is settling well at childcare must make it a little easier :)
falguni - im coming to your house for some of that salad ok? lol sounds delish
sherie - wow 10 teeth lol asha still only has 6 and one on the way lol 4 at the top and 2 down the bottom with another one coming lol..
arte - glad dh gave you some alone time.. hope it becomes a regular thing now!!
hope everyones having a lovely weekend i have netball presentation today lol how exciting.. haha not
-
So you'll be bringing home a swag of trophies then Noni? Are you going to test or wait a few more days and see what happens?
MD, Alister doens't really like his hat much and only leaves it on because he can't get it off LOL.
Katie, I love window shopping, especially from now till the rest of the year with all the Christmas displays etc. I remember when I was a little girl we visited my Aunty in Wollongong and she took us to a shopping centre where all the windows had Marionette puppet displays and it was just pure magic to see them all. I think that's what started my love of window shopping LOL.
Cally, glad to hear that Katie is settling in at daycare better now  Our target is so crappy, they didn't even have decent baby/toddler hats. LOL at her moving the boundaries at cricket, she would have had a great time.
Ange, we're bailing hay today too, but we don't need that much so it will only take the day to do it.
As for the teeth, it's a bit of a novelty for me to have a toddler with so many at this age. All the others were around 18mths before they had this many teeth.
-
Noni I hope your preggas, but if your not there is always next month. Its always fun practising ;)
Trillian I love window shopping at this time of year too, I dont like actually shopping though. People can be so rude and greedy at Christmas time. I love hearing the carols playing though and seeing all the decorations and Santas in the shopping centres.
MD you wont be able to sleep tonight. You must be so excited about DH coming home. Guess you wont be on BB much as you will have loads of "catching up" to do woot woo. Lol.
My house is all clean now and it feels great. I am off to drop off some photos I took then do some window shopping.
-
hi girls
thanks for all your hat suggestions. i've got a cool oobi one with bats on it but i just don't think the brim is wide enough to cover his (very) chubby cheeks.
i ended up finding one online at the kids store (thanks for suggestion ange) and bought one with planes on it for lewis and bought a hat with cars on it and a big blue wrap for little j.
ange- i'm spewin you were in lilydale yesterday. i was soooo bored. i would've been down there in a flash. if you're ever looking for a playground, have you been to the one in montrose? it's the best playground i've ever seen.
md- thank you for the offer, but i seem to be drowning in breast pads around here. i bought sh7tloads before l was born and still haven't used them all.
arte- ahhhh the breakdown, i had heaps when i was in the 1st trimester of this pg, but i haven't had one for a while. think i must be due for one soon.
cally- you're so clever putting your own toggles on the hat. i could never do that
katie- have fun window shopping. all i get to do these days is interenet shopping
-
sherie - lol we came second overall, word is we are getting some track pants lol with our name and runners up 08 on them or something silly plus other stuff apparantly.. dont know about trophies lol we got a medal from the association for coming 2nd but this is club presentation.. as for the testing i am trying to hold of as long as possible as we dont have much money atm and i am a bit of a poas addict once i start lol af is due tmw so i wanna go atleast a few days over before i start testing just so i dont waste money..
anyways best be off to get ready hope everyone is having a lovely day :)
-
hi girls!
man o man i missed heaps!!!
Rainy: my hat suggestions were the oobi or the hats from sprout that have the elastic chin strap...it's got a good long brim on it.
MD: that is so cute of miss E going to her cot! oh wow! H is getting big enough for sleep-overs!! how amzing is that?!
i think the snot is from the teeth as it is accompanied by the ranky poos...oh joy and beauty at our house!!
Oz: jealous of your cleaning! we just cant keep up ATM. we clean , L destroys and the cycle continues...and the furbabies and their muddy paws dont help much either.
Cally: like Sherie our target here in the city (its the closest to us) is craptacular. i dream of the target in the canberra centre LOL! (never thought i'd have to say that!)
Ange: i hear ya! i rarely get days off. know i shouldnt probably want them, but sometimes i do! like yesterday would have been nice. L was a horror all day. i have no idea what the issue was. and today she is back to her happy self. constant surprise.
Arte: like i mentioned to ange. i think we need those times! my neighbours are awesome and when she sends DH out with the kids it's great to see them playing across the park. sometimes they come over here and he's like: 'yeah, she wants some time out, so we are going exploring'. i think the kids like it too as it is a different sort of play and interaction with their dads IYKWIM.
anyway have to dash as we are off wedding pressie shopping.
oh forgot to add...L is WALKING!! so proud. and of course the catalyst was the dog park..she took off after a pug...:)
-
YAY for L being a walking girl now Clare!
I have been super busy this morning baking cookies! I had plans to do it yesterday, but did other stuff instead. I made mini M&M cookies and two-choc-pecan cookies <- they were supposed to be dark choc chip with walnuts, but I only had milk and white choc chips and pecans, so I used those instead and by golly they are yummy.
-
Mmmmmm cookies. I should really do some baking. Thanks for the inspiration! ^^^
MD- Thanks for the breast pads offer, but i have some lush washable ones from a BB gal made of bamboo and some lovely soft material on top. My bets are on Nonie needing them. ;)
ClARE- WTG on the walking, not you, Leila! i presume you've been walking for a while now! ;)
-
Sherie - I dunno why they have things different to us. I think the colours are different due to the seasons etc, and then of course they have the Bagel keepers which are like a staple American breakfast food. I do know that the reason Aust don't get the licensed ones often is that we have to pay to bring it over from the US so it costs too much. Other than that we are definately behind in some things but ahead in others. As for your cookie baking spree, 'me want cookies'. Gonna have to go bake some now....thanks Sherie:doh: ;)
Art - That time to your self is so needed and I'm sure appreciated. Its good to have that breather to get some things done either for the good of the house or just for the good of you. Try to get a set time each week/fortnight/month that can be set aside just for you.
MD - 1 more sleep until you get to catch up on your nookie. There is a birthday one in there as well that he can't forget! If we don't hear from you for a few days then we understand. Luckily typing on the computer is pretty easy going on the old body so even if you get worn out by it all, you could still get on here and up date us on things. Of course, not all things....just the H and E news ;)
Cally - the red rock n serves are great to hide spaghetti sauce stains! Although, they have made the base pretty stain proof but I find some spaghetti sauces quite 'colourful'. I liked the black lidded ones that they had out for a little while, but the 1L size is a definate bonus.
Katie - I'll PM you a message about Tupperware soon, I know a great manager down your way that would love to chat.
Noni - good luck with your presentation, let us know how it goes.
Clare - YIPPEE for L walking. It always amazes me that they just start walking after something catches their attention. As soon as S realised that she was walking by herself she would plop on her butt and pretend it didn't really happen. You'll have to start moving everything further back from the edge of the table now. She'll be more into everything
I got Sarah a hat from the chemist that has the velcro under the chin but the brim isn't very wide. I'm going to normal decent hat and just put the cord or toggles on myself. There was a nice one from the market up here but I forgot to go back and get it. :wall:
Sorry if I missed anyone...hope you all had great weekends and good nights ahead
-
Trill, can I have your cookie recipes please? I'm down to make cookies for our guide fete stall in a couple of weeks, so far I'm doing Anzacs but they sold so well last year I'm thinking I should diversify. A bit of ribbon to joosh them up a bit and we'll make a mint!
-
MD, I hope you have a great night together as a family when DH gets home. I am sure that he will be so happy to see you all and so grateful for the fantastic job you have done since he has been away. You have managed so much better than I would have in your position, you should be very proud of yourself for being such a great mummy to H and E :grouphug: They are all lucky to have you.
BTW, enjoy your belated birthday present lol
-
Of course I can give you the recipes MD! They are soo yummy.
Mini M&M Cookies
125 grams butter (butter-butter, not marg)
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (not tightly packed)
1 egg and a dash of vanilla
Cream the above ingredients with an electric mixer (or IN one if you have one) and then add:
1 3/4 cup plain flour
1/2 cup crushed nuts (optional - I left these out)
1/2 cup mini M&M or 2/3 cup if you don't add nuts.
Mix with a spoon.
Put the mix in the fridge for 1/2 hr if it's too moist (I didn't and it was a hot day here yesterday too - it was 'just right'). Roll into small balls the size of a large walnut, press slightly and cook at 180 deg (160 for fan forced) for 12-14 mins.
I got 21, but you could stretch it to 24 if you make them all slightly smaller.
Best Chocolate Chip cookies
You will need:
250g softened butter-butter
1 cup caster sugar
1 1.5 cups brown sugar (again not tightly packed)
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla essence
3 1.4 cup plain flour
1 1/2 tsp bicarb soda
3 tsp hot water
375g dark choc bits (<- I used half and half milk and white choc chips)
125g (1cup) chopped walnuts (<- I used pecans and I think it had a far better result than the walnuts would have)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 180 deg (or 160 fan forced).
Cream the butter and sugars. Beat the eggs in one at a time then stir in the vanilla.
Dissolve bicarb in the hot water and add to the mixture. Stir in flour, chocolate and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased baking trays (<- this makes a large biscuit around 7cm diameter, so you could make them smaller and you would get more that way)
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until edges are nicely browned (<- this gives you a rather soft and chewy cookie. I did some at this time and then others for a few minutes longer and they were better, so I put the first lot back in to crisp them up a bit more)
You should get 4 dozen cookies, but if you make them smaller you will get more.
-
hello everyone,
well all bets are off this month af came last night.. i actually dont feel that dissapointed.. i just wanna go with the flow and when it happens it happens kinda thing like i said before i was pretty sure wed missed the fertile window for that month anyway..
well were off to baby book and rhyme time at the library this morning.. still needa find one more thing i think lol we have that on a monday and gymbaroo on thursdays and then every second friday my mum takes asha but that kinda leaves tuesday and wednesday, do u think thats a too big a gap? haha spose i needa be home to clean the house at some point haha..
sherie - presentation was boring lol like all presentations are, we got tracksuit pants like i said but we had to try them on and then theyre getting sent off to have our names put on them etc, a pen and some socks lol exciting stuff!! haha.. those cookies sound sooo yummy!!!
md - i second arte how exciting dh is comig hooooommmmeeee!!!!! and well done on being such a fantastic mummy!!
hi to everyone else, i did read but cant remember anything haha
-
hello all!!
i have missed so much...
firstly i am sure md's Dh is coming home today!! YAY!!! enjoy your family time (will he get a few days off) and relax - i hope you get some wel deserved time to yourself. you have done so well, much admiration from me!
I so hear you all on needing the time out. in some ways i guess i am lucky i am back at work, in some way that is time out but then again i have so many request on my time and so much to manage we all need a break at times. i am thinking of making some mumma time a regular thing.. i do a coffee on thu morning before work by myefl which is nice, after i drop N at care.
MM i hear you on the mem fox stuff - i get what the others are saying re her intentions but it still doesnt help the mother guilt. i am supportive of whatever choices ppl make for their families, you never know what the underlying reason are for decisions so who are we to judge. for example, what does 'need to work' mean? for mental health reasons? financial only? career? balance in life? expectations of self? what abotu if tyou need time out for other reasons not work? some of us dont have family help? some couples need the time out together? etc etc etc... i think that research is thwre for us all to read and balance our decisios on but once a decision is made we should support all families in the choices they make... anyway i hope i havent offended anyone, it is a sensitive pt for me... esp as i heard another person on the weekend say ' i dont agree with putting your child in care, i mean no judgement but i had my kids to LOVE them'.. WTF!! and that i after one of DHs friends quizzed me on my work last weekend and said 'wow you are really rising through the organisation... but how can you leave your child' education to someone else??' ok vent over... sorry girls that rant prob doesnt belong here...
Noni sorry this wasnt your month, not mine either i think but am waiting for AF and temps doing v bizarre things...
Clare WOOOO HOOO on L's walking!
Cally - glad she i settling in more. how is work going?
ok better go, lots of work to do before i 'rescue' N from care LOL!
back later
-
Pregpan, totally agree on what you're saying about cc, esp the point about supporting families in whatever way they need. I can't believe ppl are so insensitive as to quiz you on your choices...It just goes to show that it might be 2008 but there's still plenty of 1951 walking around inside ppls heads!! I had an interesting convo with the FDC lady this am about how I'm completely hanging to have DH home and how I really need time out, but she never really felt that way when her DH was working away, and she never felt the need for time out cos she is really energised by the time she spends with kids. I told her that is her gift to the world, mine obviously lies elsewhere . Gotta have my 'me' time. My point is we all bring what we bring to the planet, for some of us that means sharing the care of our children with others so we can get on with what we're here for, and for some of us it's caring for those children that is our most precious contribution.
Noni - I hope AF isn't too rough on you. Just remember it's your body's way of getting ready to receive a new little life!!
Aww thanks everyone. It's still 12 or so hours until DH gets home, I don't know if I can maintain this level of excitement too much longer:o ! Going to the flicks today to distract myself followed by a last little burst of retail therapy. Gotta admire my own style
Thanks Trill, I'm going to print those up, they sound pretty easy, my Kenwood will make short work of it!
-
MD, I can see your excitement being overtaken by anxiety and 'I wish the time would go quicker' thoughts. I'm so excited that he's coming home just so he can see how much Miss E's grown kwim? You know what you said about there being a little too much 1951 in people's heads? I think you're right - especially among older people and the last of the pre-baby boomers. Like my nan for example. My Cousin has a 10mth old DS and she's recently gone back to work full time and put him daycare for the reason that her DH doesn't earn enough to keep her in the way she would like to be kept (<- yes, she actually did say that, she's always been very much the McMansion type person) and Nan went right off at her, called her all sorts of nasty things and said what was the point in having children if you weren't going to look after them yourself and said to me the other day that she wishes she could go to his daycare and take him home with her. So while it's not something I would choose to do (and am thankful everyday we are in a position where I don't have to work) it's not my place to ever say anything about someone else's choices.
Pregpan, vent away all you like about it. That was way out of line for that person to say that to you
-
MD: this is me doin' ma happy dance for ya   LOL! oohhh not long now girl!! what movie are you going to see? wish i was seeing something..instead have a date with the orthodontist..yay for me.
love the idea of making a fortune at a girl guides cookie stall...pure anarchy girl! LOL!
Noni: LOL! we too have tuesday and wednesday free!! what's up with that?! LOL!
PP:i hear ya too. we have been lucky that ppl have been supportive of our choice. (or at least, that's how i am gonna see it LOL!). like you said we have no family around to help out, our 'village' is abandoned so to speak. so yeah, L is off to kindy for 2 days (3 next year). but in all reality, we searched high and low for a positive environment for her. it was not an easy decision, but when we saw the place she's at, we jumped at the chance. every second thursday we both take the day off and have a date day together while L is at kindy. zero guilt. i see it as a crucial part of our family relationship, it helps DH and i have time together as a couple, so that we can be united as a whole in raising our girl, this is the only way we found possible for us.
Sherie: O....M....G i sooo need to eat those cookies!!
Kate: oooh you are soo right. yesterday we were at our friends house and L grabbed the HOT cup of tea from the edge of the table!! so freaked out, but luckily only little drops got on her tootsies, the rest she managed to spill on the chair (phew!). so yeah, need to reassess the table configurations....
AFM: well all good here. DH is on the last but one trip to the gong (YIPEEEEE!!!) tomorrow. so am totally stoked. we have been looking for houses...so saw one dive after another. i thought that 500K could get you at least a step up from a dive, but no. ho hum.
L is blazing around the place, thinking (or rather knowing) that she is the beez kneez with all this walking jazz. mwahh my gal is growing up! Poor DH is getting so clucky ATM. he is stopping ppl in the street to have a look at newborn bubs....and gets all teary at movies with bubbies being born (we saw Juno 2 nights ago...). oh and he kept patting and admiring our friends gorgeous 35 week belly!! LOL! i guess i feel flattered that despite the huge culture shock that a new bubs brings, that he still likes the idea of going again!
-
MD- No more sleeps! I bet you can't believe the day has finally come. I think you should write a book, not about DH being away , just about something, you have the most amazing way with words. I can never put my thoughts into words as succinctly, you never fail to impress me with the things you say and advice you give. I wish i was half as good with english! The stupid thing is i have no probelms IRL, but when it come to typing, i think i am a dud! lol
I think at Sep babies mums' are baking cookies today! Well i am anyway. Thanks Trillian. DH got home from the paddock at 11pm last night. There always seems to be somekind of breakdown or diaster when it comes to cutting crops. I 'think' they have finished for now. Woohoo, i can see my husband again! ;)
Bummer nonie. at least you get to do a little more trying. ;)
-
MD - YAY, the day has finally arrived - although based on previous experience we shouldn't get too excited until his feet hit the airport in Canberra. Enjoy your movie
Rainy - it was only my idea to sew the ribbon on the hat, my mum did the actual sewing! We have an Oobi hat too (it came with toggles which is where I got the idea from) and it doesn't seem to sit on her head very well. But it looks lovely with her matching bloomers!
PP - I can't believe someone said that to you about sending N to care! How rude. Yes I feel guilty about sending K to care, but she is getting a very different sort of stimulation there during the week and has plenty of fun time with us on the weekends. Work is going well, I think I have settled in now.
Clare - so are you staying in Melb?
Trill - mmm cookies......
Well we're heading up for a very quick trip to Canberra on Wed. DH is seeing a surgeon about his finger, fingers crossed it doesn't need surgery and they just redo the spint. K and I are going too - mainly to buy her shoes! Yes, she has been walking for 3 months and still doesn't own a pair of shoes. Her soles must be nice and tough though!
Back to work.....
-
good morning everyone
went to the ob this morning, everything is looking good with little j
then went for a bit of retail therapy but i couldn't find anything to buy. can you believe it? i think i'm so used to being a tightwad and not spending any money that i can't get into the groove of just wasting money anymore iykwim? anyway lewis fell asleep in the pram so i went for one of those chinese shoulder massages...heaven....lewis woke up half way through and i thought he was going to crack it but he just sat there making faces at the guy massaging me. too funny!
eventually i bought myself some undies, a bra and a nightie- just so i didn't leave empty handed.
they had some beautiful stuff in country road but only sizes 6 and 8 left....??
md- i am so frigggin excited for you today girl! enjoy it
ange- glad you've got your dh back. cute pic on fb of lewis going the grope.
pp- tell those ppl to get stuffed. i'm so sick of ppl making our parenting choices their own iykwim? i'm still so upset about my stupid mil telling me what i should and shouldn't be doing. people just need to keep their opinions to themselves.
clare- are you looking for a house in melb or in the gong?
cally- has your oobi hat got the fireworks pattern on it? sooo cute. mine has got bats. it fits him well but his cheeks still seem to get a lot of sun.
-
Cally and Rainy: yep we are staying in melb!! so happy! it just makes things a wee bit easier for us ATM what with me needing to finish this phd and all...
got terrible endo pain happening again. so over it. have been mastering the crawling around the house (just when my DD decides to abandon it in favour of walking!). so feeling rather sorry for myself. even missing an orthodontic appt.
-
ooohh endo pain sounds bad clare.
bring your $500k down to our neck of the woods and you'll be able to buy a cracker of a house.
-
oh clare that sounds awful!!! you poor thing...
is dh there to help you?
hey sorry have to be quick but wanted to ask do any of you have toys in the cot for bubbas to play in the morning?
-
phew the pain has finished! YAY! now i am just tired tired tired...
PP: no L doesnt really like to be in her cot if she's outta the land of zzzzz. but she is a pocket rocket and doesnt stop til she drops.
Rainy: really?? maybe we should!! especially if DH has to be at Monash all the time! LOL!
although a bit of a hike to melb uni for me....
i'm hoping that the housing downturn keeps on truckin' for the next coupla months...that way i can *maybe* get a house with walls and a roof...:D
-
Clare- that pain sounds shocking. Can you take anything to ease it? How do you look after Leila when you are in that much pain?
Preg- We have eyore (sp?) and a rubber doll in there. When DD wakes up. DH puts in a couple of books and a few toys and she happily plays for half hour or so.
Rainy- I wasn't going to say it looked like he was goingfor the grope! lmao, but that's what i thought.
Cally- How'd you go with the finger? Did you get some shoes? I heard it was good for them to have bare feet for the first couple of months anyway. ;)
Tril- Noice cookies. Thanks! Is Vax a brand of vacuum? Never heard of it.... if it gets spew out of carpet though, i'd rate it.
Wonder how MD is going.... :D
-
ange- he was totally going the grope! so obvious...
now any word when our prams come in cos i've just done my tax and am about to be cashed up big time
clare- have you heard about the beautiful eastlink? it has changed our lives....you coud be at melb uni in 50 mins.....
md- hope you're having fun
i've got my new nightie and undies on and i feel very spesh. they're so soft and nice :D
-
Rainy: see??!! the shopping trip was worth it! oohh wish i had new nicies!! wahh
ah the good ol' eastlink. so i guess it works then?!
Ange: yeah i have some nurofen, and some backlogs of panadeine forte. but didnt want to take the latter as i was on my own with L and i sometimes get really woozy on it.
man it was shocking trying to look after her as i was prone on the floor for a few hours and of course she wanted to come over for cuddles, but every movement felt like my innards were going to shatter so not a pleasant experience. no, i was really worried, and unfortunately my neighbour is in sydney ATM so didnt even have that backup.
oops, L is awake! have to go...
bbl girls!
-
LOL Ange, yes the vax is a two in one so you can shampoo your carpets and upholstery too - I don't know how I would have coped without it over the years - even just for spills etc its been brilliant.
G, LOL at you feeling all spesh in your new knickers and nightie. I've become like that too and I have a love/hate relationship with spending money.
Clare, how's the pain today? All I can do is send you a
PP, sometimes there are toys in his cot, but he never really plays with them. Most of the time they are only in there because the older three have turfed them in LOL
Cally, fingers crossed his appointment goes well. And I hope you don't have too much trouble finding shoes for Katie, chubby little toddler feet are so hard to fit.
-
Good morning lovelies.
Glad to hear the pain has subsided Claire. Endo sux hey ?
Those cookies sound delicious sherie. I've been making a yummo slice of late, it's easy peasey and no baking required. Just a pkt of biscuits, a block of caramello chocolate and a tin of condensed milk and a little cocunut. Never lasts long tho.
We had a nice long weekend away. Hamish got spoilt rotten with the dozen cousins as usually. He has a ball being carried around all day being constantly entertained by kids aged 4 - 16.
We have our scan tomorrow - yippi ! Fingers crossed all is well, still had no movement yet so will be nice to see bubba again.
H has just woke up, BBL
-
YAY cindy I hope the scan goes well - how exciting to see your bubba! are you finding out gender? oh thats right i think you are PMing all of us except Rainy!!! ha ha ha!!
thx for the input re toys, i wasnt sure what to do... he has been waking up SO early lately... and is still tired, i thought maybe he would have alittle play and then go back to sleep (ha ha wishful thinking)
N is in a bad way today/the last few day - he is getting molars and really suffering poor little man. he also has a bit of a cold... was even a bit off his food this morning...so unlike him
Clare - glad you are feeling a bit better. sounds AWFUL.

hey everyone,
just thought id share this idea i found on the net for home made baby wipes..
cut a paper towell roll in half
make a baby wipes solution (theres heeeeaaaaps of them just gotta choose the one that u like)
remove the cardboard roll from the middle of the paper towell
pour solution into empty formula tin
place one half of paper towell roll into the tin
wait till it soaks the bottom then place lid on tin and tip upside down to soak the top
pull the inside wipe up and wella its just like a circular wipes container they pull out from the middle..
am giving it a go let u know how it works out :)

cindy- best of luck with the scan, i already know it's a girl! he he
