Noni, gymbaroo is a great idea! I reckon there MUST be some things/classes closer to where you are, if you tap into the playgroup scene other mums will tell you about stuff that they do. To find a playgroup, ring the playgroup association and they will tell you what's on. The church ones are often really well run and friendly (I have found even tho I'm not a christian) so if you're feeling shy that might be a good place to start? I found out about music and singing that the Salvos run every week that way - they NEVER advertise, it's been going for years purely on word of mouth. Miss E goes with the FDC lady now. Other good places to look for info is by visiting a community house in your area and also the what's on board at your public library. I'll be doing all that in a few months when we move!!
Feeling perkier today than yesterday. Little BettyWhineyBots slept like a log until I woke her up just before 9. Pure cranky tiredness yesterday. She wouldn't take the boob last night, she was totally hyper on lack of sleep! We're down to only 1 or 2 feeds a day but I'm not sure she's ready to give it away, doesn't feed very long either so my supply is dwindling. Feel so sad but there's another part of me that knows that it's a natural by-product of DH being away and there just not being enough of me to spread around as far as two parents would normally go.
On the plus side, it's Trixie Belden and the Case of the Rapidly Vanishing Bosom here, all the excuse I need to go (lacy) underwear shopping today. The quest for de-sclumpadinkment continues...
Gymbaroo sounds good. We go to an activity most days, W gets cranky if he is at the house all day. Usually we have playcentre/music/mothers group in the morning and go for a walk in the pram in the afternoon (weather permitting). He is so busy all the time, we run out of things to do at the house and I get sick of reading a zillion books to him all day lol
I guess we got lucky poo-wise - he is a once a day boy lol. Yesterday he had three, twice right after I changed him and then in the bath. I think that may have been the cause of the really unsettled sleep we had the night before.
So after my complaining about all W's comfort feeding, the other day he only fed in the morning and before his nap so poor righty didn't get used all day and I ended up with a blocked duct. Ouchie. It seems a lot better today though. I think I undid all the work cutting down feeds because I kept making him empty that side
Ange, how can people not understand the ittibitti fastening system? It is all colour coded!
Rainy and Ange, get the Phil and Teds! Support NZ companies lol (although they are probably made in China)
waaa i just had my post almost finished and lost it!!
yay people are here!!
i put ashas cot into a bed yesterday lol she had a day sleep in it but when it came to night time it just didnt feel right and she slept with us lol i will be converting it back today.. shes just a baby lol dunno what i was thinking.. she wakes herself up so many times from banging into the cot ughh just have to ride it out i think.. shes quite a big girl and i think thats the problem...
arte - wow an activity every day asha would love that.. but not being able to drive that would be a massive hastle and cost alot of money for me.. hopefully gymbaroo will help break things up a bit tho and give her something to look forward too as well as the once a fortnight to my mums place..
md - wow i had no idea there were so many ways to look for activities.. will suss out gymbaroo tmw and see how we go.. have to be there by 9.20 so depends alot on how i cope getting up early and getting everything ready to go haha.. will be good to get out tho...
Noni, MD is right - there should be lots of stuff closer to you. It is different here because there isn't a playgroup organisation as such, you just have to look around for flyers. Most towns here also have a playcenter which is a NZ initive where parents are involved in the education of the children - we go and play and learn but the parents stay with the kids. MD's suggestions were all good. You could also post in the playgroups or meet-up forums and see if there is anyone on here that lives near you that you could organise something with.
Firstly.... CONGRATULATIONS TO RAINY... Yippeee 2 boys....
Re: Pram : I have a Twin Mountain Buggy for sale. Its black.
Poos- Livi has not pooed in the bath or shower yet but Xavier use to poo in the shower all the time. Jordy never.
ATM: All is good DH goes away again tomorrow but will be home midnight friday night.
Kids are all good and Livi got one of her molars which explains why she was cranky last week. She is growing up so fast and she is just so cute. She just really loves playing with the boys.
well i looked up playgroups in my area and they are all really hard to get to.. none i could walk to in under half an hour.. i really thought thered be some closer but no joy..
Rainy-re the Mountain Buggy. It was so easy to use. I know they are expensive but I found they were worth the money.
Glad to here swimming was good. We have lessons this arvo.
Even better - Mountain Buggy's are NZ owned and are actually MADE here too! (I seem to be having a patriotic day, don't know why - Helen Clark certainly isn't handing out $1000 bucks)

Yes, that is fantastic - you should all spend your Rudd money on NZ goods, lend us a hand before we sink lol
Oobi isn't NZ, but Cariboo is if you want to spend your entire grand on a blanket lol
W was really keen on the cows milk for a couple of days but now he won't even look at it again. That is what happened last time so I gave up offering it...
EWWWW the grossest thing ever happened the other day. We were at the park and W always tries to put the woodchips in his mouth. Anyways, I saw he had something in his gob so I went over and told him to spit it out and it was a filthy old ciggarette butt! Yuck Yuck Yuck!!!
Noni, that is a pain. What suburb are you in?

well i rang up a library and signed up for baby rhyme and story time lol i will have to catch a bus there but its free apart from that so its an $8 day out provided i take drinks and snacks with us.. thats on a monday so with that and gymbaroo thurs and my mum taking ash every second friday things should fill in a little better i know asha and i are going nuts staying home all the time!! hope the weather is better tho was about to walk to the shops and it started raining (asha was out the front in the pram and i had just locked the door and set the alarm grrrr) when we came back in ofc she wasnt at all impressed.. tmw i have a 15-20min walk from the train station to gymbaroo so fingers crossed its not raining atleast!!
arte and rain - ash is the same with cows milk she was having one bottle a day of it and then two and then the dr said she should only have 3 bottles a day and 2 should be formula we cut one out and since then she stopped drinking the other cows milk one too only having 2 bottles now grrr coz the toddler stuff recomends no more than 2 a day lol.. she will occassionally drink milk from a cup.. she gets offered it daily but often only drinks a sip or two..
