No way can I remember what has just taken me 4 hours of reading on here. Nope not a slow reader either just can't get a moment long enough to get into it. So some key points are as follows and the biggest apologies to those I miss.
PAP - CONGRATULATIONS!! That is fantastic darl...heres hoping for an awesome h&h pregnancy and birth.
Sherie and MD - Good luck with all the medical stuff happening your way.
Rainy - Happy Birthday Sweets...hope your night ends up better than the arvo. Get anything exciting?
Noni - I'm with you on the getting into everything...definately must be the age for it. All I recommend is moving as much out of reach as you can and picking your battles. Like is pulling magazines apart really as bad as digging through the rubbish bin. I just think about how 'bad' it really is and go from there. That way it doesn't seem like I'm rousing on S as often. I've heard about the YMCA gym up here that does child care for 50c for 3 hours. They have a daycare centre next door so two girls from there come over and look after the kids while you work out. I'm not so big on the working out part although God knows I need to but the break from Sarah is a huge bonus.
AFM - Well we finally got confirmation that the house is ours, now just gotta move all our crap in and find space for it all. Its really unfortunate that I'll be in Brisbane during that week... As you can see i'm really upset with not being able to help lift heavy objects and try to fit them through shrinking doorframes.
I'm really close to losing my mind and my cool with the inlaws. What gives them the right to tell me how to raise my daughter. Advice is one thing but flat out telling me off for doing it my way is so not on.
Anyway...sorry again for missing anyone. Hugs to all and hope the sleep fairies do their magic on all the kiddliewinks and the mummys as well
Kate - Thats excellent that you've now got your own place! Woo hoo escape from the inlaws!!!
Arte - lol at W thinking the toilet brush was a tooth brush. He's so smart.
Feeling like a bad mum tonight, just discovered a bite mark on M's arm. It all makes sense now. Her little friend came to play today and the friend was playing a bit rough, at one point M screamed & I thought she was just scared, but this must have been when she was bitten. I didnt stick up for her!!! What a bad mum, I hope she doesnt think that I didnt care iykwim. Poor Mads everyone wants a bite of her.
Haven't been in here for awhile - god its hard to catch up!! anyway after reading a lot of your posts it seems that it is quite normal for normally angelic one year old to be have turned feral and started being "naughty!!". Phew - not only me. Good luck with your bubs - I'[ve decided to discipline if its a dengerous activity but otherwise let her explore....we'll see how that goes for awhile!
H is quite good at brushing his teeth. We have a set of those pigeon baby brushes with the guard on them so he can't stick the brush too far down his throat.
I have given it too him at most nappy changes since he was about 5 months old. It amusing him and I usually sing the 'brush your teeth' song at the same time. It started with a soft rubber type head then we changed to a harded rubber with ridgers on it and now he uses the one with a soft brush atached. No paste normally.
Having said that, whenever he sees me brushing my teeth he usually comes over and opens his mouth so I get a normal toothbrush with a small amount of paste and he loves it. He's such a copy cat.
Yes H is into everything as well. He knows the tupperware cupboard is ok and the rest are not. He loved the dishwasher, scrambles over to it once it's open and rubs the left over water everywhere. Nice..... We usually do the distraction thing, sometimes it works and other times not. He loves making a beeline for our stairs. He's up them so fast it's scary.
He is walking a bit more each day, still crawling mostly but he's getting there.
We have another bloody open house inspection today, Im sick of cleaning this 3 story (5 bedroom) home from top to bottom, it's all I do. Can't wait for the auction to be over - 18th Nov is the date.
Sarah has the worse rash on her vuy-jay-jay that I have ever seen. She has never had anything like this before. It started off just as a normal looking nappy rash but persisted which is unusual for her. Its now extremely irritated and blistery. The blisters look like they are raw and its really annoying for her when her nappy is wet or dirty. So of course I try to keep her dry as well as trying sudocream, bepanthan and brauers relief but nothing is clearing it up. It calms down sometimes but flares back up again soon after. Anyone got any other ideas to try? Off to the doctors as soon as I can get in to rule out fungal.
Gonna go do nappy off time to give her some relief.
ohhh kate- that doesn't sound too good at all. i have no idea what to suggest- just lots of nappy off time i guess, until you can get her to dr. poor love
hayley- you're not a bad mum at all for not sticking up for mads, you weren't to know. lewis got bitten the other day too by a friend's dd. poor little things.
i've gotta be quick- we're going out to dinner tonight to my favourite indian restaurant to ceebrate my b'day. dp, dad, lewis and i....i think we're just gonna write yesterday off as a bad joke. turns out dp had a really bad day at work getting stuffed around my some rich biatch and was feeling really miserable, so i think we're just gonna act like tonight is my b'day dinner- yah!
bbl tonight, no doubt, seeing as it is saturday night and i always spend every sat night on bb, for personals xoxox
hope everyone is doing well
Ooooh Kate, that sounds very painful for her. How did you go at the Dr's? With our experience this year with the girls and Alister getting Molloscum, it sounds like it could be that - I hope it isn't though because it was soooo hard to get rid of it because it's a pox virus and can't be treated with anything.
kate - asha had something similar.. i used weleda nappy change cream to get rid of it.. deffinately check out the fungal thing if it looks like small red dots its quite likely to be fungal.. blistery can be more of a bacterial or normal nappy rash.. if its fungal canistan will clear it up and u should try washing all her clothes etc with detoll or canestan rince wash to minimise the incidence of nasty rashes... hth
Kate: yeah L had something similar months ago. it was kinda wet irritated patches that would have her screaming. we did loads of free nappy and sudocream...
Rainy: Have fun with the dinner tonight.....mmmmm indian......could really hack into a murg makaani right now....ohhh and peshwari naan....mmmmmmmmmmmmm
JG: eww cleaning house sooo often would be sooo boring!! hope that the auction does the trick!
Arte: the interview thing went well. they confirmed in my Phd so i figure that was a good outcome. it is really nerve-racking though having your whole future in the hands of 3 ppl!
gotta keep this short we have ppl over for dinner and they are really yelling and keeping L awake... so ANNOYING.
Kate - M is another who has had the yucky rash down there. When normal nappy rash cream didnt do the trick, I got some canestan cream and it worked. I hope this helps?
Rainy - Enjoy your night, shame you both had a bad day yesterday but I'm glad its all sorted now!
hey everyone,
ughh woke up feeling sooo crappy!! i keep getting sick, i think its lifestyle really mostly eating habbits, too much junk not enough water and then ive been out walking delivering these catologues too and this morning i just feel dizzy and queezy its been happening alot over the last few months, really gotta learn to take better care of myself!!
on the plus side Asha has slept through the night two nights in a row!! this morning i got her out of her bed at 8.20 and yesterday about 7.30 sooo excited!!! hoping it continues from now on!!
gee some mega cleaning is in order for my place, been so tired during the week delivering catologues lol 100 on thurs and 100 on fri and tmw i have to go and pick up thursdays one and see who ordered etc, im quite nervous because it takes alot of effort to deliver that many and when i pick them up if no one has ordered anything ill probably be pretty dissheartened iykwim? oh well see how we go anyway..
its my birthday on tuesday too hehe and i will have to go and pick up fris ones mums taking me to the shops tho so i can get my wii lol i am such a baby!!! ohhh well its nice to be buying something frivolous for once!!
anyways sorry for the selfish post no time for personals ashas finished her breaky n is screaming to get down and its dps sleep in day (mine was yesterday) so i dont want her to wake him or hell be cranky..
bbl
Sarah - K had a rash like that last week, we have been putting canesten on it and it is clearing up.
Rainy - hope last night was better, we had butter chicken here, mmmmmyum
Yesterday was a disaster here. The morning went fine, went into town and did a little bit of shopping then went to watch the cricket. Found some ducks which K chased and then played on the playground equipment - then we headed home. She refused an afternoon sleep and yet she was so tired and I ended up taking her for a drive to get her off. Then when she woke from that she was so cranky (only did 30 mins too). Absolutely nothing calmed her down and it was full on screaming. I just had to walk out of the room in tears a couple of times and she kept following me. I even rang one of DH's team mates (DH doesn't have a mobile) to tell him to come home straight away - unfortunately he didn't answer his phone, but at least K was a bit calmer when I came back inside so we just had an early dinner and bed.
She also had a early evening screaming session on Fri night (woke about 8:30 and wouldn't calm - ended up giving her another BF). I think she is just overtired - she has refused one of her day sleeps most days this week. I think she sees the other kids go out to play at daycare and doesn't want to miss out on the outside play time. I don't think she's ready to drop a sleep though as she is lucky to be awake for 3 hours in the morning before needing to go back to bed. Will see what happens this week and if she keeps it up we might start trying to stretch her out. I also think one of her molars may be coming through so that might be a problem, but then none of the other teeth have been so who knows.
I have everything crossed she has an afternoon sleep today - DH went back to bed during her morning sleep so he can deal with her today, I might go and hide in the garden.
Is anyone else still on 2 day sleeps? I remember K was one of the last to drop her third sleep.
And what is everyone planning on getting bubs for Christmas? I'm thinking outdoor toys, but not sure what. Already have some blocks for her. She is obsessed with her daycare bag and my mum found a miniature version of it that she is getting for Christmas as the daycare one is a bit big for her to carry around when it is loaded up.
Cally- Lu still has 2 sleeps alot of the time, and sometimes has one. She is hard to put down in the arvo though. We're getting Lu a little timber table and chairs and a sandpit for chrissy.
How was dinner Rainy?
I'm not sure, but i think Lu has some kind of cow's milk issue. She seems to get pain/wind and runny poo if she has too much. I'm not sure if it is a coincidence or not. She can have yoghurt and cheese no probs and even hot milk on her weetbix, but if she has milk in a cup it seems to go horribly wrong. I also wonder if it has anything to do with the constant cold/runny nose she seems to have. She is the only bub still BF in my MG and she has the most colds by far. Any ideas anyone?
Cally I hear ya on the banshee baby antics. i had to post a thread about it...L was being really horrendous screaming howling child for 2 nights in a row...(like 4 hours at a time). i was in tears the first night, felt like i was losing the plot as NOTHING was calming her down. i am with you and think that she was just really overtired...at the time i thought maybe she was getting sick, but luckily not. hugs to you, i know how emotionally draining it can get.
Leila overall is on 2 sleeps. they have gotten longer (ie most around 1-2 hours), but she is def starting to head towards one sleep...
hhmm re the chrissy stuff...not sure. the wooden table and chairs is a good idea. L loved playing with them at IKEA. actually anything that is miniture ATM is her fav.
Ange: hmm that is strange re the milk. maybe it is the quantity? i know that i can't cope with large amounts of straight milk (i used to get eczema as a kid) so maybe there is a slight intolerance...?
Noni: YAY! sleeping through 2 nights in a row is not a fluke anymore!!! hope the good times continue!! bring it baby bring it!! LOL!
AFM: well not much going on here (after Leilas banshee nights). we had a first b'day party today so we are all a bit tired and had to force L to at least eat something nutritious for dinner (caught her with a big wedge of violet crumble in her gob earlier at the party!! ).
her cutest trick ATM is to cuddle her dolly! it is sooo awesome. you ask her to cuddle dolly and she picks her up and pops her up on her shoulder and cuddles and rocks baby then gives her kisses!! sooo funny!
Clare that's a crack up, E does same with all her soft toys, soooo funny when the boys are all getting excited about cars and trains and our girls are playing with dollies!! LOL
Noni well done on the sleeping, sounds like progress at your house. Yes to definitely taking better care of you!
Kate, good idea taking it to the drs, how did you go? I always go straight for the canesten if it doesn't clear up after a day or two, but sometimes you can get a rash with multiple elements (ie started as regular nappy rash but turned fungal and/or bacterial as well, kwim)?
Cally, -oh yes I've had the crying screaming behaviour too. E was rotten out at friend's tonight and I think it really is tiredness. Sometimes putting them in the bath or feeding them early can help restore peace & quiet.
Rainy, well I hope you enjoyed your dinner at the resto the other night,(yum, aaaaages since I've had indian)! You deserve to have had a good night to celebrate!
MM - don't feel like a bad mum, you can't be everywhere at once! You're doing a wonderful job looking after M!!
Leanne, I'm wildly jealous of your trips (like usual)! Enjoy the planning!
Trill, do you take your medication every day or just every few days? How's it going?
Well I had a wonderful day today. We had a sleepover for DD1 (five girls & ensuing dramas hehe Had to use my cranky voice at 1.30am). Anyway I was a bit pooped today so DH looked after E while I went back to bed for a couple of hours. Then I got up and it was E's sleep time & DD1 was snoozing too so I sat on the couch and read this fantastic book. Then it was time to go to a friends house for roast dinner. How good is that? But even after all that sleep I STILL feel exhausted.
Guess it'll take a while to get properly caught up *even if* I'm sleeping at the right time of night.
Didn't end up getting into a doctors, normal ones were closed. Tried canestan on it and thought that if I didn't see any improvement I'd go to the after hours one. Well luckily it looked better after just one treatment. I've continued with it and have changed her nappy a lot more than usual and lots of nappy free time. So fingers crossed it goes away and stays away. I don't know if thats the reason that she has been a feral sleeper the last few nights or if its just a coincidence. We have had a few big days where we were out and about and she had naps in the car. She was sooky all day today as well but went down easily. Heres hoping that she stays down
Hope everyone had a good weekend...MD sounds like you did...
I'm off to bed, shattered and hoping to catch up tonight on some lost sleep.
Kate- I hope S sleeps tonight and her rash gets better soon.
MM- we are going for 3 weeks Sanfransico , Flagstaff, LasVegas, La. Going with IL's and BIL's sort of a Griswalds Family Vacation..lol.
MD- Sounds like you had some catch up sleep and some nice mumma time.
clare- How cute
Ange- Gee I dont know maybe speak to your dr
Noni- I hope you have a wonderful birthday on tuesday
Rainy- Hope you had a great dinner.
JG- you poor thing what a massive house your in. Hope the open house went ok.
ATM- we are all doing well. The boys are having their hair cuts tomorrow so we are on an adventure outing to the shops. Something I dont normally do with 3 kids by myself...
hey everyone,
feeling a bit better today, yesterday was awful.. made sure i didnt eat too much crap and i just rest for most of the day.. was going to skip rhyme time this morning but when i asked asha if she wanted to go she said yes and i felt bad haha oh well.. gotta collect catologues this avo too so back to having a busy day.. on the plus side tho dp helped me clean the house so its really just the bathroom that needs a good clean..
ohhh asha slept through the night again thats 3 nights in a row!! well last night wasnt quite as good as the others she woke up at 4:30, well she wasnt really awake actually just kinda wimpering in her sleep i gave her her dummy and fixed her blankets and she woke again at 7 so were finally doing pretty well on the sleep front!! now if i could just get her out of her bouncer during the day.. spose thats the next step...
leanne - wow sounds like a fabo holiday!!! goodluck with the hair cut outing
kate - glad the canestan is working that probably means its fungal.. a little bit of direct sunlight on it will really help as well as if the canestan is taking the rash away u need to keep putting it on for 2 weeks after the rash is gone or it will keep coming back..
md - yay on your relaxing day!! sounds great!! ikwym about still feeling exhausted after a very restful day tho!!
cassius - lol @ the violet cruble.. the first party asha went to we caught her with cheese and bacon balls eeeeeeek lol.. asha likes to cuddle her toys too isnt it the cutest? hehe
falguni - quite possibly a cows milk issue have you tried cutting it down, maybe even try mixing in some soy milk every once and a while?
cally - for christmas we have a pop up tent and mini camping chair on layby as well as a tub of blocks and little back pack to carry round.. we probably wont get her much else because theres no room as it is from her birthday and everyone else will spoil her as it is!!!
ok everyone sorry if i missed someone but ashas just thrown her bowl on the floor lol have a great day
