hi everyone, just a really quick one here
firstly, congratulations G, wonderful news!!!(are you going to tell him that you've already tried it on:shhh:)lol.
My sister had her little boy yesterday afternoon and she named him Zachary John. He's such a cutie, and i'm all clucky again. I now know what my mum and sister went through waiting for me to have my 3 girls. It was torture not knowing what was happening!!!
I've got the girls home from school today and tomorrow, as school is closed - we had a major storm hit yesterday afternoon . Leanne - did you get any of it?
Katie - how about you guys?
talk to you all soon.
-
I saw all the footage on the TV about the storms Jaz - very intense. I love a good storm though, shame we don't get too many of the here LMAO. How soon before the school is all sorted? Congrats on the nephew too - I got me one of those today too LOL.
Noni, I'll join you in the 'no sleep last night club' I was coughing for hours last night and it wasn't till 3am before I went to sleep cause I was just exhausted. I can't shake the last little bit of the cold I picked up at the end of last month.
Hey P, you need to start slowing down hun! you're making my head spin with all the stuff you have going on. You have a cleaner though don't you? At least that's one less thing you have to worry about.
Arte, I totally get what you mean about our babies being replaced by children. Lindsay isn't 8 till Feb, but all his friends are 8 already (he's the youngest in his class). The medications going really well, thanks for asking. The only thing is I can't shake the last of the cold I have, probably due to my immune system now being up to **** LOL.
Marydean, I'm with you on Lizzie. I like Libby though as an abbreviation and have even heard Ellie too. Do you get to keep all the moula you made? Pleased to hear the M&M cookies were a hit. So when do you start the Great House Hunt?
Kate, is the arm a lot better today? Tetanus jabs are the worst - I haven't had one since we had them in school.
Hey Clare, G and Cindy!
On the home front - Like I said earlier, I gots me a new nephew today. Oliver James, 8lb 9 (no other details as yet) to DH's brother and his wife. He has a weak heart apparently so he is on a respirator, and we don't have a lot of other details as yet. He was born via c/s one week early from his 'due date' but I think SIL is one of these ones who cooks babys till 42wks (cause her first one looked nowhere near overdue when born at 15 days past edd via c/s) so I'm wondering if there is a bit of prematurity playing a part there? Anyway MIL said that she didn't know anymore than that as BIL had to go, so it was only a quick call to let her know that he was here safe.

Congrats to new aunties Trill and JaZaH! :confetti: YAY!
No to Lizzie because it goes with Dizzy and that's not a characteristic that I want to encourage. Lizzie is the name that Elisabeths that aren't strong enough to wear the name resort to! Trill Libby's a good one. I've heard Ellie too. My friend also suggested Eliza or Liza too. I was staring at the telly in a daze the other night and there was this 1950s Anne of Green Gables movie (where she's grown up and moved on). There's this scene where she meets a little girl called Elizabeth who says she likes to be called Betty or Beth or Liz depending on how she's feeling on the day. I only saw that little part of the movie and the funny bit was I remembered seeing exactly the same little chunk (and no more) of the exact same movie when I was pregnant. LOL Maybe it subliminally affected our choice...?
The money our stall raised goes into the fete takings, and then gets divided back up amongst the guide districts. So strong earning stalls like ours will help fund stalls that didn't do so well (like white elephant...NEVER makes any money). I'm just pleased as punch because it was my idea in the first place to have a "confectionary" stall in addition to the regular cake stall. It's been a winner both years.
Well I'm feeling really STUCK today. I'm supposed to be sorting through E's little baby things and I've totally ground to a halt. There are things there that I just can't bear to give away. But I can't keep everything! It's very confronting because it really means no more babies. Well not until I'm a grandma anyway. :( Maybe I should just make up a "decide later" box...
Ah, better get on with it, I suppose.
-
congrats jaz- i saw him on fb- he's lovely :)
-
 Marydean, it's hard isn't it? I still have a few things from each of them that I will never part with, but OMG the choice of what to keep or toss was a hard one.
-
Congratulations to you as well Trill! I hope little Oliver's heart gets stronger by the minute. :)
-
Yeh for the new bubbies
Hi to everyone.
Went to the vets today to get Shaela (new puppy, pics on fb) vaccinated and microchipped. Took Storm (cat) along too and get her done at the same time. An arm and half a leg later, took the buggers home. But oh well, done now. Until Shaelas boosters...
Catch you all...

UPDATE on Oliver - it wasn't his heart, it was just that he needed a little bit of oxygen because he was a bit blue at birth and had a fair bit of muck on his lungs from being born via c/s etc. So he's all good, in a normal crib and ATM he's still down in the nursery just for them to keep an eye on. He had a great feed earlier and SIL is feeling OK, but obviously sore.
Kate, we are so bad - our dog isn't microchipped or vaccinated - but she did get tetanus a few years ago and spent 3wks at the vets (and golly was that expensive). We don't have to get her chipped by law because she is a working dog though (black Kelpie sheepdog)
-
sherie- that's good news about oliver....i love that name..
well our little girls' trip away to the beach is not looking quite as exciting now that i've seen the weather reports. thunderstorms and rain everyday....
-
Sherie - good news about little Oliver. As for the chipping, it was sort of just something we got done JIC. Our cat is a bit of a day roamer so wanted her chipped for sure and figured might as well get the puppy done as well. And I figure that with the lack of other dogs (close by, as in next door etc) around out there that your dog would have a lot less chance of copping anything.
Rainy - my fingers are crossed for you and I hope the weather fairies take pity on you and your friends and gives you beautiful weather.
-
Rainy - Congratulations on your engagement, the proposal sounded lovely. Dont worry if you recall mine was much the same lol. I dont know the full story about your inlaws but they seriously need to get with the times, alot of people are having children while unmarried these days. It doesnt make you any less of a parent iykwim so I dont understand the problem?! Ah well I'd be amused to hear the MIL's reaction. I really hope the weather clears for you.
Noni - I'll join the no sleep last night club as well. M has a bad cough so I spent alot of time up with her. I'm exhausted!!!
Jazmum - Big congratulations to your sister, you sound very proud.
Trillian - Big congratulations to your inlaws as well. I'm glad to hear Oliver is doing ok and that it isnt his heart. Thank god. Is this their 1st child? lol at the Lohan nickname.
Kate - Hey well done on helping that mother, I would have been in a right state! Your new puppy sounds gorgeous. Sounds like you have a full house now with S, a cat & a dog!! I saw a pic on your FB of your wedding day in Fiji, looked magic. Love all the new pics of S too.
MD - Aww I dont know how I'll be when the time comes to get rid of M's stuff. Do you do a salvos run?
Pregpan - Oh my gosh girl, you are one busy mama!
As for nicknames, DP used to call her 'fateline', because she was a real chubba when she was younger, well still is really! Thats a mean one though. For some reason we call her 'Madelina' alot, and its prounounced in a real Italian kinda way, cant explain it lol. Otherwise its Mads, gorgeous girl & princess diaries (yes isnt that mad, I started calling her princess then added on the diaries after the movie, weirdo).
So glad to hear I'm not the only one with a major tanty chucking child! I seriously felt my face going bright red on Sunday when we were at the shops, M was being a little terror lol. However on that note, I agree with Clare, I cant believe how fast they are growing. I picked Maddie up from daycare today and she was sitting at the toddlers table on a big girls chair, instead of in the highchair. I nearly bawled my eyes out!!!! So while we've been having a tough time this past week, we are so friggen proud of her as well iykwim.
-
BTW Rainy I meant to say re the proposal...at least you got one!!! I never did. We just sort of decided it was what we had to do at the time and that was it! LOL Still waiting for a chunk of rock too, the older I get the more expensive it's gonna have to be to placate me for waiting all these years.
MM, some stuff's going to charity, some of it I'm posting to my SILs, some is going to be sold imminently. And some is going into a keepsake box, I think! I just have to keep concentrating on how pleased I'll feel once it's gone and I've got that space back, kwim?

morning everyone,
well after a really long day with asha yesterday (i was ready to jump off a cliff!) asha slept through the night thank god!! till 8:30 so i feel a bit better now after a decent sleep.. but yesterday was such a nightmare im still feeling drained from it.. asha just would not behave for 5 minutes itwas awful.. dont know what to do with her sometimes.. im looking into childcare but even with the ccb i think atm we couldnt afford it, and id have to find another centre than the one closest because i didnt like the vibe when i called in there ages ago...
md-goodluck with the clothes sorting.. i was going through to pick out some items of ashas that i could give to my dads wife as her friend just had a little girl a few months ago and that was hard enough!!!
mm - awww little m at the big kids table i cant believe how fast they are growing.. and yeh im with ya on the tanties we had a day full of them yesterday.. atleast we were just at home where no one could see lol..
rain- hope the weather clears up for you!!
trill - congratulations!! and thats great news on little oliver (also a big fan of that name)
kate - ikwym about the vet trip being expensive!! i remember when we got our pup microchiped and vaccinated geeeez they must make a fortune!! i think it should be free lol like with kids!
jazmum - big congrats to you as well :) also love the name zachary actually :) my cousin is zackarya
-
hey the lovely ladies. I have had a realllllly slow internet connection and been busy this week so havent had much time to be on BB. I have been trying to keep up but will need to sit down later and read through everything.
Congrats to Rainy, your proposal was more romantic then mine lol.
Congrats to Jaz and Sherie too on the new additions to your families.
JAZ we got lots of rain but not much storm wise, I was watching the news last night and couldn't believe some of the damage.
Got lots to do again today so had better run. Will try to catch up later though.
-
hi all
i feel like sucha bad belly buddy! i wrote a long post yesterday and it does not seem to have appeared... so annoying!! it has happened a bit lately on BB and is driving me nuts as i dont have the time or energy to redo it!! (maybe i need to write posts in word or something).. so sorry!!
anyway in that post i DID do some personals.... so dont think i have forgotten everyone!!
Nicknames for Noah - ooh there are too many, I sometimes wonder if he knows his ACTUAL name is Noah??? There is snuffy and all sorts of combinations of that (snuff, snuffster), sneaky, cheeky, monkey, uncle, boyfriend, prince Noah.... in the womb he was kicky and ruby and snuffy... i make up new nicknames every day!!!
congrats to jaz and sherie on the new nephews!!! so exciting!! gorgeous names too... i am gld that oliver didnt have anything serious, sounded rather scary but i think that happens when messages are passed on in a hurry etc. hope they are all enjoying their babymoons. i love botgh their names, both would have been on my shortlist but i have relative called oliver and one of my best friends called her bub zac. so they are off the list!!
Noni - how are the activities with Asha going? does that help? she sounds like a handful, a gorgeous one though!!!
MD - I purge N's stuff every 6 months and take some of it to the women's shelter. i keep a few nice bits each time either for the next bubba or just because i cant give it all away. i am sure we will give it away at some pt though, i will keep a couple of outfits just so he can one day see how TINY he was! i guess i am less sentimental than some about 'stuff'.
How are all the bubs with bumps ans bruises going?
well i am meantto be in melb today and tom at a course but i am so shattered and felt AWFUL yest so i pulled out. not v good as i REALLY do need to go to it but i jsut didnt have the energy. bos was great about it. i also have so much work on, in the midst of a massive negotiation so that will free me up some time to workon it, esp as i have no meetings today/tom now as i was blocked out!
i am running low on food ideas for N, as he is in a feed myself mode - any ideas???? he isnt v intpo breakfast so we have been making him smoothies in the morning which he loves - i just do fruit, yoghurt and milk - what else can i add (woudl like something more like cereal) - i thought crushed weetbix but that may be too hard tyo drink? weetgerm? or is that too fibrous for him? ideas please!!!
-
Hi girls!!
congratulations to the new Aunties!! i agree that when family and friends have babies it's soo hard to contain excitement and WAIT for the details...we wanna hear them ALL right away LOL! i am exactly the same.
To all the brisbane and sunny and gold coast mummas, i hope all is ok in your part of the world. i remember the ripper storms that we had up there; hope the bubbas didnt get too freaked out!
Noni: woot woo on the sleep through! ahhh, they are the nights to treasure!! pity we dont know they are going to happen until AFTER the fact huh?! LOL!
MD: it's tough. i have a special bag of clothes and toys that are especially 'Leila'. mostly her first little suits (Gawd they were tiny - 00000!) and some of the clothes that remind us of a special time or of a special person who gave them to her. but yeah, still tough to pack away the bonds suits and little skirts and dresses...
kate: IKWYM about the vet costs! we spend a fortune everytime...what with 2 cats and a ginormous dog, we have no hope. Plus in melbourne cats also need to be registered as well as microchipped...
Rainy: well if the weather is yucky, take a whole bunch of tacky girly trashy DVDs, light a fire and pop some corn!!
AFM: well another 1st birthday party. forgot to buy a pressie so the moment L wakes up from her morning slumber we are off like rabbits to go hunting for a present..all before 10.30!! arrghhhhhhh....
-
sorry PaP musta posted at the same time...L loves wheatgerm!! but then again she was made on the back of that stuff...
