i will go back and catch up...... but for now, hello ladies!
Thanks for all asking after Lu, i wasn't being rude and ignoring ya'll, our house was hit by lightening and blew up our phones and satellite internet bits and bobs. So i have been without communication. It's nearly killing me! lol
As suggested by the wise and wonderful MD, Lu had an ear and throat infection which was probably causing the junky eyes. One lot of AB's and still no improvement. The poor little thing was miserable, but round 2 of a different AB seems to be fixing things finally. I really try to avoid AB when possible, but the poor little thing was pretty sick. She had a fever for 6 days and i presume a headache/earache as she kept hitting her head. Fortunately she is sleeping ok again. We were getting up every 45 min with her for a few nights there. That was no fun! Guess it it good practice for when the next one comes though.
Anyway, enough of my whinging! Down at my folks for the weekend so trying madly to catch up on all my bits and pieces. will be around for the next days, so will try and catch up.
MD - YES I am reading the Jenny McCarthy book, can hardly put it down. Went down to the library today and got it out and I'm practically finished it. You are right, she is very convincing. Oh really I didnt know they cut out a part of the vaccine, is that the mercury bit? Wow you are organised with your chrissy shopping, I havent even thought about it yet.
Trillian - I like your thoughts on vaccinations, but so far I've kept up to date with M and more than likely I will keep going with it. I am too much of a worry wort, and I guess I have M in daycare so I have that to worry about as well. I read today that they have another MMR shot, is that right do you know?
Falguni - POOR LU! She must have been miserable, so glad the ab's are working.
Expecting a rough night here tonight, noticed before that M has two teeth coming through, a littly at the front and one of the big nasties at the bottom back.
hello lovelies
well im just waiting for the lady to come and talk to me about the catologue stuff she should be here any minute so if i pop off thats why n ill come back after.. basically im going to quit coz i hate it and im starting avon now anyways..mmmmmmm
well ashas been so naughty lol her sleep routine is so weird she sleeps through the night one night till round 830 then the next day till 7 then the next day till quatre to 6 and then the next night she wakes up around 3 to come to bed, stops sleeping through for a few nights and then we start again.. its sooooo hard to adjust to ahhhhh drives me mad!!!
we had gymberoo yesterday and she was so cheeky the whole time running all over the place and not doing what she was supposed to lol on the plus side tho her avo sleep was an hour and 40mins that aftrnoon so i had a nice rest then..
eeek brb
ok well thet was pretty painless.. the lady understood as she has kids too n asha in the pram for that amount of time equals not fun!! so ill finish it all up and be free of it.. glad she came by herself she much less intimidating then the other manager which i will see when i put all my orders in that i do have but since ive already broken the news to her hell already know so hopefully itll be ok...
ok back to it then..
re the vaccinations etc i am actually worried about continuing to vaccinate asha because i did see a clear change in her behaviour after the 1yo vaccinations.. dp says its just her age but something dosnt feel right iykwim.. i am unsure what to do now tho because ive vaccinated her for this long and im not sure what would happen if i stopped iykwim?? idk i guess i need to look into it more and look at my options..
falguni - hows lu today???
anyways ladies i have read but my brain is fried and i cant remember anything lol.. hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

MM, hope you had an o.k night. W has been getting the same molar for about three weeks now, the points are through but nothing is happening but it is causing a lot of trouble. As for vaccinations, it is a hard call. I was always a pro-vac person but it is different when it is you own kid getting pumped with god know what. However, as MD said the thiomersal has been removed from childrens vaccines since around '99 - it was the ethylmercury that people mostly blame. I guess for me it boils down to this: It is a fact that children get these illnesses and occasionally die. It is suspected that it may occasionally cause other problems. So I vaccinate because I want to prevent something that is a rare but proven possibility rather than take the chance and not vaccinate because of something that is an unproven risk iykwim
Trill, I do see where you are coming from and I have chosen to not have some of the prescribed vaccines. I didn't give him the Hep B at birth and haven't given him the last Meningitis shot. In Aus I think the main strain that they vacc for is Men A, here it was Men B. So he had two shots of Men A in Oz, then when we moved here he had two of the Menz B. Then they changed the schedule here and started vaccinating bubs born from 1 Jan for Men A (Men B epidemic had died out and Men A is now more prevelent). So I didn't bother getting him the last shot of Men B because it is now not the biggest risk and he is out of the most at risk category. It is an issue that I think about quite a bit, it is worrying how many vaccines they are given.
Noni, glad that quitting the pamphlets was painless for you. Hopefully the avon goes a lot better.
JG, hope you get the all clear from GD this time round. Were you on insulin? I think the diet controlled people have a better chance of being clear the second time round. I live in hope that I won't get it next time, but I was on high insulin and the Dr thought I would be a type 2 after pregnancy so I don't like my chances. I hadn't even thought of it starting earlier next time though, I don't know how I would manage that if I got as sick as last time. I feel quite ripped off about it actually- I was 25, about 7kg overweight so big but not massive iykwim (felt like a swimsuit model at diabetes clinic - was my weekly boost lol), just have a really strong family history on my fathers side.
Ange, bummer about your house being hit by lightening! I have lived quite easily for 5 months with no T.V but I would go INSANE with no internet lol. Glad that L is getting better. How is the morning sickness these days?
With the big bed I am not worried about him getting up because he still feeds to sleep and he is already climbing out of my bed and coming to find me when he wakes up now. What I suspect will happen is that he will wake in the night and come looking and after a couple of wakeups I will end up sleeping in the bed with him. I think the biggest difference will be that all the flippin sand that he drags in will end up in his bed instead of mine!
Thanks for the TTC well wishes PAP and MD. I have been taking Vitex for a couple of weeks and would be happy if I can see an improvement in my cycle this month. It would be a lot less frustrating TTC if there was a chance I could actually get preg instead of having a stupidly short LP. I am sort of hoping next month will be the one because then I can have a go at a 09-09-09 baby lol
Arte - Hope you get that 9-9-09 bub that would be awesome! Keeping my fingers crossed for you & hoping you fall pregnant soon. I agree it is so scary the amount of vaccines we pump into our precious kiddies. Its something that I dont know an awful lot about and it really makes me nervous.
Noni - So when do you start with Avon? Thats very scary that you noticed a change in Asha!!!
Well as expected I am downing coffee this morning after a rough night. Poor Maddie I felt so sorry for her. From what I've heard these big back ones (I know theres probably a technical name for them lol) are painful. Usually panadol works well but last night nothing seemed to work. DP was great though, he cuddled her to sleep a couple of times.
On that note I am so happy to say that I've noticed such a change in DP with his actions and initiatives towards M. Last week he came home, I'd just bathed her and she was nakie, and he took her in to her room and dressed her without me needing to ask. He has also changed a couple of wee wee nappies. Usually M chucks a fit when he holds her and reaches her arms to me, which I can tell is not nice for him, but last night she stayed happily in his arms for over 5 minutes. He was so happy it was cute. I think now he has realised that simple things like clothes & nappy changing, bathing, bed time bottle etc is all part of the bonding process, so I've been encouraging him and he has been doing so well. Makes things so much easier. We are now working on a dirty nappy lol. I have always been envious of ladies who have partners that are right into caring for their bub, its gorgeous to see.
I got sucked in by gotcha photos yesterday. A couple of wks ago I was walking through the shopping center and they stopped me saying $5 for a pic. So I gave in, knowing full well they would take a whole heap and try and sell me a package. Well yesterday I went to pick up my freebie (which was gorgeous but so freakin tiny!) and told her dont show me the pics, what does she do, she whips them all out. My heart melted, they were hands down the best pics of M ever. However I was so good, I only bought one, $80 thank you very much. I could have easily bought them all, but I had christmas, wedding, holidays & tax bill in the back of my mind lol. Needles to say DP came home and melted over the picture too. If only they didnt charge so much, I dont know how they can justify it really. Anyway, the good thing is childcare are doing 'school photo's' next week, the package is only $34 and you get a whole heap of pictures.
Off to mummies group today...yay!
Well this has turned into an essay about me me & me. Sorry!
Oh btw I finished that Jenny McCartney book in one day, get it out ladies its a great easy read.
MM-Poor M hope she is ok tonight and you both get some rest. Livi has been up crying a few times during the night.
Art-WTG W for being in the Big Boys bed thats awesome.
Ange- Hope Lu is better soon
Hi everyone. Been MIA with a couple of days away for training and just general busyness. Heading up to Canberra tonight for the weekend. Going to be 15 tomorrow - not impressed about that!!
All is good here. K was a bit whingy the first night I was away and it took DH a little while to get her off to sleep but then she was fine. Biggest cuddle ever when I got back. Mum taught her how to kiss - really she just puts her lips against yours, so we end up wet and a bit snotty if we haven't wiped her nose, but still very cute.
Noni - hope you have more luck with the Avon catalogues.
Christmas - Have a couple of little things. Not sure yet if we will do one big thing, or just a few more little ones.
MM - those big back ones lol!! Molars is the technical term. I don't think we have any coming in here, not looking forward to it. $80 for a photo, that's ridiculous!! Glad that DF is helping out more. I have the opposite problem, I think DD likes him more than me!!
Hi Girls
Well guess what? ...My mummy arrived yesterday. I nearly cried at the train station picking her up . But its so good to see her again. Missed her so much.
As for moving, I'm freaking a little bit but am praying for the best. My friend up here has offered to go around to the house and unpack for me . She has a 14 month old daughter and is willing to unpack my house for me. What a champ. I've told her no but she has insisted that she at least go around to the house and make sure Rory puts things in the right spots. I'm so grateful for meeting such an awesome girl up here. She and I have very similar interests and her DD and S are similar age so thats fantastic also. But I still think I'm going to be in for fun when I get home and try to figure out where everything is...
As for the beds...I hadn't even thought about putting Sarah in one. can't she just stay in there until shes like 5 or something? I guess once we're in our own place, things might be different in regards to her routines and sleep patterns. I'm still worried she'll roll outta bed. Shes not the most co-ordinated child.
Hi to everyone and sorry for no personals...hope you're all well
Noni, well done for getting rid of the catalogue thing - sounds like it wasn't going to be all that it was cracked up to be. Everyone loves Avon though. You should find out if there are some workplaces in your area that might let you drop an Avon catalogue off there - we always had one on the lunch table and ppl would order from that.
Cally if you want to meet up for a coffee and commisserate about the cold weather just let me know.
Arte, Good luck for your 09-09-09 bub! Hopefully the Vitex kicks in ASAP for you. I can't wait to hear how the new bed works out. All good I hope.
MM - Good news that the penny has dropped for your DP! It's soooo much a part of the whole bonding thing, I wish more men would twig that it's not just a chore.
Well I'm back to being a supermummy again for a couple of days while DH is away (AGAIN). I haven't had my fill of him being home yet so it was horrible waving him off this morning. Also a bit scary cos i had a cracker of a gallstone attack last night, couldn't even talk, soooo don't want to have to deal with that all alone. Anyway I'm all stocked up now with heavy duty painkillers now so hopefully it won't ever be that bad again. On the pleasant side of things I'm starting on my Chrissy preparation so it's like Dec has come a coupla weeks early at my house. Gotta love that, except there's no champagne this year.
so sorry I have been a very slack baby buddy. I am have been trying to keep up but have had no time to reply. I have had photos everyday this week except today so have been busy busy.
Not much happening here, Logan blows kisses to everyone now and has another molar and one on the way. He also points to his eyes, ears and nose when you ask him where each one is.
I hope everyone is doing well, I will do my best to keep up but am pretty busy leading up to Christmas.
what's this news about a new vaccine?? or am i misreading (very possible..bit of an airhead these days).
just a quickie to the bris and vic girls...hope the storms pass quickly and with no damage! we are starting to get the wind picking up and i have heeded the SES warning and have packed up the outside stuff...boo hoo. a day in the house with miss L on my own...
MD: hugs sista. that pain sounds awful. and i know from my endo stuff that heavy painkillers tend to make us a wee vague...or that could very well just be me! LOL!
Where is DH off to this time?
Arte: here's hoping for a poetic bub! (09-09-09) would be sooo cool! what is the luteal phase exactly?? i have been seeing it on FF but have noooo idea.
Kate: bit jealous at you having your mummy around! i would give my left leg to see mine ATM. but it looks as though there will be no chance, not even over chrissy. oh well, yet another one on our own.
MM and Leanne: hope the toofies come through soon so you gals can rest easy at night and so bubbies can be their happy chappy selves again.
Ange: i was wondering where you had gone! oohh, poor Lu, hope the ABs do the trick. is there a probiotic that bubs can take after a round of ABs? i swear by them for myself...
sherie: may need some advice on how to handle the q's when we go to get L some of her shots (we have a CO letter for the MMR)...
JG: oh man, i hate the wait. we had 2 houses sold from underneath us and it was just awful. it made you realise how powerless you really are as a tenant. i really dislike inspecting houses where i know the people are renting and will have to move out...is there anyway that you guys could move out before bubs is born? so that you can get settled....
AFM: well i have been MIA as feeling rather sensitive ATM. have had a hard time with a guy at work who is in a position of power over me and likes to remind me every chance he can get. yesterday he went too far and will find out next week that i have dropped him from my team...oh happy days. i thought that by leaving the bullying environment in canberra i would be free of these kind of people, oh well...
L is good. she is just gorgeous fun ATM. despite the tanties we are just loving every moment. i love the fact that when we go to pick her up at kindy she comes running towards us. makes me realise that she also loves us...mwahhh.
as for chrissy: well, we will get her a little dolly (she is becoming obsessed). we scored a $2 dolls pram at the local school fete which has been the fav toy for the last week. we are also getting a my wee ride for the bike. and i was thinking of a tricycle. other than that i may just do some things for practical reasons. she needs an upgrade in the wardrobe dept. so may spend most time doing that for the next year...
best be off the animals are at the door wanting in from the storm.
Clare, I haven't had any issues yet, but I got a CO form for all of them. Just tell *them* if they ask that you wanted to wait until she is older because you wanted her to be bigger before she got it - that's my other beef with vaccinations is that they give the SAME dosage to ALL babies/children regardless of their weight/size - so those will smaller bubs are getting the same amount of vaccine as the bigger bubs and people wonder why they are ravaged by fever etc after vaccinations? That's a lot for their tiny bodies to handle. And it's something I never even really thought about till I decided not to continue with vaccinations.
MM, Jenny Macarthy's situation is very different to a lot of others though. Her son has made a miraculous recovery from his autism, but a lot wont. And some children just have autism because that's how they always were kwim?
Kate, *YAY* for Mums! I hope you have a great time with her. I bet she's missed her girls too.
Marydean, how long is he away for this time? I hope you don't have anymore attacks while he's away
Cally, I hope Canberra isn't THAT cold for you. how cute of Katie being able to kiss.
Ozstar, I'm with you on the being busy.
Noni, fingers crossed that Avon does better for you than the catalogues.
Yesterday was just a **** of a day because Alister was just soooo cranky and wanting to tantrum all the time. We were in town nearly all day and normally he is fine, but yesterday he just wasn't going to co-operate at all. Even when we got home he still didn't settle and his bedtime didn't come quick enough last night I tell ya! He is cutting his 12th tooth though, but I don't think that's responsible for yesterday though. The older kids taught him to spin around and it's HILLARIOUS to see him spinning around then falling down all dizzy.
OK Clare, you saaaay that you aren't planning another bundle but then you hang out on FF and the Ob threads??? Should we be awaiting an announcement? Luteal phase it the time between ovulation and AF. It is usually about 12-16 days and needs to be at least 10 days. Mine is currently 5-7 days which doesn't give any potential bubs time to implant. Hope the bully guy leaves you alone.
MD, big bummer that DH is away again! Sorry you had another gall attack (sounds like a netball position lol). Lucky you found out what was causing it, I would be terrified if I had an episode like that without knowing the reason.
Trill, don't ya just love the days when you are looking at the clock wondering if they will go to bed at 4.30pm lol. That is so cute that A is making himself dizzy.
Ozstar, wish I still lived close so I could come and get some photos done. L sounds like a clever little boy.
Cally, glad K was good while you were away. Kisses are adorable. I was looking at your pics on FB, K is one cute kid!
Hayley, are you kidding me? Does you DF really not do any of the day to day care? Does he look after her if you want to do something? You are a far more generous person than me, I would have cracked it a long long time ago if DH didn't pull his weight. I hope he continues to do the little things, it will make a huge difference to their relationship.
Clare- got her on the kids inner health plus. The packaging has been changed and it says on the bottle that you can give it from 3 months. It used to be 2 years. So that's good.
Arte- we'll have a corn off, i planted mine last week!
Ange, we've tried growing corn a few times and it just never works for some reason. We don't eat a lot of it anyway, so it's not a drama though.
Arte, how long did it take you to fall pg with Will or was your LP not an issue then? Would be so cool if you did get a 09-09-09 baby. That would mean you would have to get pg mid december though - so fingers crossed...
Arte - Lol no I am not kidding about my DP, however I tend to let him off a little as he does work long hours and comes home tired. Dont worry I've had my days where I've cracked it at him big time and he gets the hint. I also told him to forget more babies until he starts helping out more. lol good luck with the corn! We also did corn last year and it didnt work out for us either, but I dont have much of a green thumb hehe.
Clare - Oh I dont like bullies, glad you are getting rid of him you poor thing & well done to standing up for yourself. Yes I agree when they come running towards you after a day in daycare it just makes your heart melt.
Trillian - Hmm you've got my mind ticking again about vaccinations. The info all seems very hazy iykwim, it seems like people just go with what the govt tells us to do, I'm one of them. As for the same size dosage, that makes sense to me, M has barely ever had a reaction to any vaccinations (touch wood) & she is a chubba bubba, whereas for example my girlfriends little girl who is the same age, but a tiny little girl, always is affected by them.
Falguni - Oh wow thanks for mentioning inner health plus, I never knew they had changed the age bracket thats awesome.
Oz - You have the coolest job ever. I'd be another one in line for pics by you if you lived close by. What a smart cookie labelling body parts.
Kate - What a friend!
MD - Hope the time away from your DH goes fast. I hope you can get your gallstones sorted soon?
Cally - I am envious of your hands on hubby
Just went to the shops with a girlfriend, she was absolutely amazed at the tanties that M was chucking. She kept saying 'omg Hayley where has my little sweetheart gone' LOL. She bought M a ball as well, so cute, she dotes on her.
