LMAO at you being seedy Clare! I am hanging out till Dec 1 when I go shopping with Mum and then I am going to hit Myer for decorations this year, they have gorgeous ones.

Marydean, I am pensioning off the old tree too this year. And like you, it has served me well - heck I even left it decorated from year to year in the cupboard and just got it out to freshen them up and dust them off LMAO. So this year I am buying a big one cause it looks a bit silly now to see a little tree with so many presents. I also found the smaller one great to put up high out of reach of little hands....

Noni, Now you make sure you keep us in the loop LOL. I will have to go off for a looky at the tree too - I have seen similar ones done with cans and that before and they look awesome don't they? Very clever.

G, Lewis isn't still sick today is he? I hope not. And SUPER YAY for him walking!!!! that's great news.

WOOHOO on the Bargain Arte. You've certainly got an impressive vege patch. Do you preserve/freeze all your excess at all? That's what I usually do with what we cant eat.

Baking day today! so far I have made mini strawberry muffins, I have a carrot cake in the oven and I will make some berry cupcakes (with frozen berries) when the cake is done. I also have two huge bags of lamb shanks defrosting to roast for dinner tonight too - weather is appalling here so a yummy roasted comfort food dinner will be perfect.

LMAO at putting the tree back in the cupboard fully decorated...why didn't I think of that

Ah your comfort food has got me thinking. It's cold today here too, I found a stray ham hock in the deep freeze so I've got a pot of soup on, chicken thighs out for tea tonight, might have to slap a marinade on and roast them up with some veggies...mmmmm.

Clare, ok, you owe us photies after telling us all how fabulous your house is going to look! LOL

    hi there ladies

md- i always know when your dh is away cos your green light is on more often i love it!

noni- oohhh how exciting! fingers crossed for you

sherie- your baking sounds fab, i can smell it all from here. i'm jealous!

clare- how much longer till you finish your phd?

well lewis is still a bit lethargic today but not throwing up....but now df is sick! he's been throwing up all night- he must have caught it off lewis.
i feel sorry for him but i also feel a bit resentful, biatchy but i can't help it! he hasn't moved out of bed and is acting like he's dying.
when i was sick i couldn't rest cos i had to get up and look after lewis, i even had to drive myself and lewis to the hospital, stopping to throw up....while when he's sick he won't lift a finger and has been having long hot showers and lying in bed.

MD: yeah, well i reckon you may be disappointed by the house! i was thinking of just popping up some icicle lights from the verandah roof and threading some off the picket fence...so nothing too spesh unfortunately! if only i had a better homes and gardens type DH, THEN we would be in serious business LOL!
mmmmm, chicken, mmmmmm, or sherie's lamb shanks mmmmmmmmmmm...

Rainy: oh it's soo true! these boys just dont get it! when we are sick we try to have the world keep turning, but it certainly doesnt go both ways.
i have to submit the thesis for the phd in march of 2010. sounds like ages, until i realise how much more i have to do LOL! really gotta get crackin' on the writing....

sherie: you are soo right! MYER does gorgeous chrissy stuff. it's where i got L's first christmas bauble. so adorable. i also just bought her christmas party dress from there. love it...it has tulle. what more could a girl want?! LOL!

    mmmm, mini muffins, mmmmmmm
