Noni, it's only natural to have all these feelings at first - as soon as I got a +ve on the test when we were pg with Erin, I was sitting on the loo with the test in my hands and said "****! what have we done?!" even though she was a much wanted and planned baby, it is still a life changing moment kwim? And it passes (Obviously, says she with the tribe of children )
Katie, I would love to see the pics just to see some of your work kwim? Do you like doing children's photography the most or do you like all of it?
H, how did you go last night watching FMF? I haven't ever watched it - always too busy then LOL.
It's raining here today so DH is pottering around in the shed cranky that harvest has stalled again (we only just got back into it after the foul weather over the weekend).
i have missed heaps and read through...but i am vague and have the memory of a goldfish!
JG: I am so sorry to hear of your friends loss. words fail me to express the depth of my sympathy and sadness at hearing of her losing her little girl.
i also agree with Sherie; go with what feels right in your guts. many hugs, it brings it close to home news like this.
Noni: i can imagine that this is all normal feelings! i too had a moment with the pg test in my hand when i thought: 'oh god!' and a bit of fear twinged in my belly. i think it is part of our psyche knowing how precious a new life really is, and with that, the knowledge of our responsibility towards them. dont worry too much about it, it will pass and soon you will be doing loads of belly rubs and daydreaming about the baby that will be and it will overshadow the other stuff of pg and labour.
PP: ha ha!! Now my weekend may not sound so exciting after all this wait!
Andie: pooey to the person who was mean to you, on FB of all places! there is no need. hope you feel ok. and yeah, bring on the tank filling rain!
Katie: ooohhh i would love to see the photos!! can i see them too?!! LOL!
uurghh i cannae remember the rest.
AFM: well as i said we had a rather interesting week so far...
firstly, on sunday we had a crazy come up to the front door and start verbally abusing both DH and I regarding our cat (who is unwell). she was accusing us of neglect and trying to tell us what ailments she had and then proceeded to tell us that she was forced to 'treat' our cat, because we were neglecting her. i was FURIOUS. we have been seeing the vet for weeks now trying to get her eye condition under control and she is on heavy duty meds and to be told by a psycho that she has been touching the infected eye just made my blood boil. luckily DH took over the situation as NO ONE tells me that i am abusive towards animals. and i was ready to deck her (Ok, maybe i can be abusive towards ppl! LOL!!). anyway DH told her to get out of our property and said that if he finds her near our cat again we'll call the police. havent seen her since. oh, she also abused our other neighbour (cause she thought that it was her cat!!).
then, on monday we had to deal with the nurses for L's vacc. we have decided to delay her MMR for many reasons including that she is a tiny girl (bottom 5%) and i would like to see her a bit bigger before giving her such a large dose of live vaccine. so we took her in for the hepB and menC. everyone was really good about it except for the nurse who gave it to her. she rolled her eyes and said to me: oh, so you searched Google then did you?', in this condescending tone. it's like so ridiculous that these people dont believe that parents have the capacity to make informed decisions regarding their particular child. then she proceeded to jab leila VERY roughly and pat her on her head and said: oh i hope mummy doesnt take you near someone with measles. WTG nurse from hell. as if SHE had the right to judge.
lewis seems much better today. had a good nights sleep (the first one in a week) so i ended up taking him to swimming and he was fine. now he's just having a sleep.
we're going to look at beds today (dad and i) for lewis. i'll let you all know how i go.
noni- i still freak out about having two so close, but ultimately i think it's for the greater good iykwim? my boys will grow up together and will never remember a time when there wasn't the two of them. you'll do just fine, and asha will love having a permanent playmate and someone to fight with in the back of the car on the way to holidays LOL
Rainy, how is L today? Hope he had a better night.
Trill, that must have been so cute catching A up on the bench eating all the muffins!
Nella, a sandpit is a great idea. We made ours for about $30 and W spends literally hours in it.
MM, I am a bit of a cold biatch when it comes to those reunion shows lol. I can understand the emotion if you have been separated from a family member that you actually knew but I can't stand the big Oprah moments when people are crying and hugging an absolute stranger ie birth parents, siblings seperated at a very young age etc. Perhaps it is just me though, DH says I am cold-hearted sometimes but IMO shared genetics don't make family and you can't love someone you haven't met!
Noni, you will be fine, fingers crossed you don't get any of the bad preg symptoms this time round.
Ozstar, yay for L going to sleep without his dummy!
MD, glad you have a date for a Dr appointment, hopefully it won't be dragged out too long.
Cally, how is everything going? Sounds like you have been very busy lately. Was the trip away for work?
AFM, W has finally started climbing on things, it isn't too bad because if I ask him if he wants to climb on the couch for nappy time he happily comes over rather than running the other way. We have heaps of blowflies around atm and he is having a great time trying to catch them all at the windows. He has also learned to open the sliding door which isn't so handy.
As for TTC, AF arrived yesterday but I am happy enough because it seems that the vitex is doing something - I have gone from ovulating on cd24-27 and LP of 5-7 days to this month ovulating on cd17 and a LP of 10 days. So hopefully we are in with a chance next month.
Clare - Oh no what a rude nurse, thats the last thing you need. How long are you delaying the mmr shot by?
Noni - Oh I think I'd have a freak out as well, but at least this time around you know what to expect iykwim. I'm so excited for you!
Rainy - Good luck with the big boy bed hunting!
MD - Oh I know what you mean, how would you feel as a mother knowing you dont have enough food to provide for your child? So heartbreaking.
Katie - I've been loving the pics on FB, you have talent.
Arte - Thats good news, I hope you fall pregnant very soon! I love reunion shows, I bawl my eyes out hehe.
Now does anyone know how to concieve twins!? HAHA I must be mad right!? We have twins on both sides of the family, my Aunty is a twin, my grandmother a twin and DF has twin brothers. We are going to start ttc late next year and I've always wanted twins...Leanne any tips?
Rainy, so glad L is better. We decided on a king-single because they are longer than a single and so can be used for lanky teens - hopefully we won't need to buy another bed for him. It will also give me more room because I think I will probably end up sleeping in the for a while at least.
Clare, sorry you got abused by a crazy! That was rude of the nurse, very unprofessional. I would be concerned about giving a little tiny like L the standard dose too.
hayley- i think all these family reunion shows are driving you insane!!! twins?!?!!
LOL only joking...i think twins would be so cute.....mmmm i am having visions of you with twin boys.....
arte- i'm thinking of getting a trundle bed so that #2 might want to sleep on the trundle for a while with lewis and also it's handy for sleepovers etc.
Rainy I love trundle beds. Me and my sister had them when we were younger and we'd always have "sleepovers" in each others rooms lol
Hayley twins would be great. I've always wanted twins too
Noni hope you don't get bad ms this time round!
Clare I can't believe how rude that nurse was! I'd be complaining to someone!
Katie I've been thinking about getting photos of L done and see that you're not too far from me do you mind pming me some details?
The clamshell sandpit is the one I was thinking about getting because it has the lid so the dogs don't use it as their personal bathroom! I saw in the mr toys catalogue for $40 this week!
H, you can conceive twins if they are in the maternal side of the family - so from my understanding of it, it has to come directly through the female lineage, so if your Aunt is a maternal aunt (being your mothers sister) then there could be a chance, but still no guarantee that you will get twins.
Clare OMG that is one crazy lady!!!! I would have been like you and absolutely fuming at her about it. I can stand people like that nurse - what makes her the authority on it? She gets feed the 'party line' about vaxes and she has 1 no right to question it when you said that you were merely delaying it and 2 its not a decision you made lightly either.
Arte, fingers crossed that December is your month again! Great to hear that the vitex is having an effect on things.
G, we were just going to get bunks for the boys. A trundle would be handy, but we need the under-bed storage cause we are so stretched for storage space.
Noni I agree with Trill its natural to feel what your feeling.
Trill yeah I love taking pics of kids well portraits in general. I am probably into everything except photographing buildings.
Pics are on FB with access for all of you.
Clare that woman sounds like a nut job and how rude is that nurse.
Rainy we want to get L a trundel bed too, maybe even a captains bed (trundel and draws).
Arte fingers crossed for you next month. Would be a lovely Christmas present.
H my dad is an identical twin and I am sure I will be the one to have twins since I dont particularly want them and my sister does. Thanks for the nice comment on my pics, hopefully the more practise I get the better I will get.
Nella I will send you a pm once Logan has gone to sleep. Would love to do some pics of L.
Better go and put L to bed, fingers crossed we can do it without the dummy.
Clare - what a crazy lady! And a very rude nurse. You could have had any reason in the world not to be giving the MMR to L, it is not her place to judge.
Arte - good idea about the king single. I was in Canberra for my niece's christening on the weekend (and of course coffee with MD and her lovely girls) and in Wollongong for work 2 full days last week. Glad your LP has extended.
Rainy - trundle beds are great - when I was growing up, we had some that could be raised up so we would both be on the same level. They were great. You could also put L on the trundle when he first moves into the big bed and he wouldn't have far to fall (or get a rail)
Andie - good luck with the boys and their referrals
Trill and MD - good luck with the doctor's tomorrow.
AFM - not much happening here. DH had a disaster at work yesterday that means he has to somehow find about 50 extra hours in the next week to finish something, so he was a bit fragile last night. K is good, is so happy at childcare now, doesn't want to go home when we come to get her and just waves at us and points at the door when we drop her off!
I just checked them out Katie, they are all excellent! You take amazing photos. If I were the twin's mum I would be super happy with those.
Cally Oh No at your DH having a problem with his work. I hope it all comes together in less than the 50hrs! And how cute at K pointing to the door at carcare. Happy to hear that she is happy there now.
Oh bum the twins come from my dad's side of the family. Ah well I wont even worry about it now I've still got plenty of time before we start trying again, I've just been getting clucky lately as it seems everyone around me is getting pregnant! Focus on the wedding, focus on the wedding...
Katie - I'll go check out your twin pics shortly.
Cally - Oh good I am so happy that K has settled into daycare. It sounds like it is doing her good as well.
Nella - That sandpit sounds like a bargain!
Rainy - Oh I so hope your vision is correct. Imagine that, M with two younger brothers....haha she'd love it. Hmm whats a trundle bed!? We only had the good old pipeline beds hehe.
Just got back from the op shop, found a heap of decent tops, kookai, portmans and even marcs baby doll! Cheap as chips.
ok girls i ended up getting the best of both world LOL- i got a king single trundle bed.
hayley- a trundle is where it has a pull out bed- like a drawer under the bed.
it is absolutely gorgeous, can't wait till we can pick it up and set it up. yah!!!
also, i went to pumpkin patch and they have 25% off everything in the store so i went a little crazy bought heaps of their organic stuff for lewis and #2
Falguni, I know the feeling. Somedays I manage to get on BB quite a bit, while others I cant & fall behind!
I just ordered our wedding invitations...I got an absolute bargain and I'm so excited! Thank gosh because I was so close to going down to Myer and just buying a pad of simple invites lol.
