    hi girls!

Rainy: oh big hugs comin' your way . I guess this trip for your DH was a really big emotional vortex for him, and unfortunately with a bit of happy juice in his belly, the built up anxiety about the front-off with his mum found an avenue of 'expression' at the local pub. it really sux, i am sorry that it had to happen. i hope that he is ok and the court hearing goes as well as possible.

on the mil front, it sounds like at least there is some finality at the very least. yay for your dh and your family! it must have been scary laying it out to her like that.

Sherie: yep we have one of the moron farm mob in our family. the have a dairy farm and are sooooo careless about chemicals and machinery it's not funny. they never (!) got rid of the outlawed stuff and it sits there still today. the number of 'accidents' they have had is not funny. i refuse to go there now, and miss L will never see the place. i have been to well managed farms and i know how good it can be, so seeing our family's place makes me sick. they think they are being tough and the like living the way they do...urrghh.

MD: woot woo on the dyson buy!! i saw on telly the other day that they were doing a 399 price!! how awesome is that?!!! i love my dyson.

Leanne: i hope you all have a wonderful time! you'll have to fill us in on the details (Including the flight management strategies LOL!). i am sooo jealous!!!!
in all honesty, it will be better than you think. the boys will probably be soo excited in the airport, that from what i have seen they kinda get tuckered out once the plane has taken off. you also get LOADS of freebies for the kids (colouring books and crayons). they'll love the little travel packs. also, there will be movies for them to watch and you are constantly being fed by the hostesses so that always provides cheap entertainment. you might find that they become obsessed with going to the toilet (so i recommend asking for a seat only a couple of rows from the toilet...sounds unappealing, but i soo prefer to be closer than far away and not knowing what the cue is like!! some good entertainment strategies is also trips to the water fountain (again near the toilets). they can fill up on loads of small cups of water LOL!
I also recommend packing a surprise bag for each of them (including bubs!). stuff they have never seen before and can be slowly brought out to entertain them.
other than that, lots of stoicism on your behalf and maybe some champagne! LOL!

AFM: not much happening here. L is teething (we think) as she is chewing on everything atm. and has been waking in the night.
we are pretty tired as a result, so have been trying to occupy ourselves out of the house as despite the glorious weather our poky vic terrace is dark as night....

Well it has been a little hectic, but happy belated festive season to you all.

MM- That boy falling under the tractor was so sad to hear about, farming equipment scares me. DH lost his thumb in a post driver and he is always so careful. It can just turn bad so quickly. I never let Lu out on the machinery with DH, she goes moving cattle in the ute but not on the tractor. Don't let all the wedding hooha get to ya. No matter what happens the day will come and go so run with i say!

Trill- I can NOT believe someone lets a kid in a hopper with an auger running??! That is just stupid.

G- Man it hasn't been the best festive season for you so far. Sounds like you and DH need a mini-break holiday, or even better i got a voucher for indulge at immerse for chrissy, you could come with me for a pampering day. It is great he told his mum how it is. Al least she knows now and with more than one person telling her, something has to sink in.
Poor DH and his beating. I feel your torn feelings. I would be so worried/mad/relived/angry all at once i wouldn't know how to react. But at least he is ok and knows he was a bit of a fool. Be nice to have him home.

We've had more gastro plus molars the last few days. A little lacking in the sleep department. Have been down at my parents place by the beach so it has been nice to get away and have a bit of a hand with Lu, although the family were all crook with the bug too. Looks like we're coming out the other side though! wooohoooooo. thank goodness.

If i don't get back on here before the newyear, happy new years to all!

Rainy - Well I must say I am proud of your DH for sticking up for you and speaking up to his mother. He really did well, I couldnt ever see my DP speaking up to his. I think that is fair enough to tell them to come down to meet their new grandson, but not to think about staying with you, the last thing you need is to bring your newborn home to a hostile environment. Hopefully they wont barge in on the birth or anything, but I think your DH has made it clear to keep away lol. As for the jail incident, he really does sound remorseful. I'm so sorry that your MIL is such a mean person. Even though I couldnt call mine mean, she is just an annoying/take control person really, but I had always hoped that I would have a MIL I could have a good, understanding relationship with. So its a bit of a let down, as I imagine it is with you especially seeing as you no longer have your own mum to turn to.

Trillian - Good to hear you take all those precautions with farm machinery and chemicals. That poor little boy he was only 4, what a way to go. What a situation to witness! As for the Gunnedah boy, was that the one on the news & they couldnt confirm what had happened to him? That must make you so angry knowing how irresponsible your BIL is with his kids, he should know better & I can understand why you never let your kids go with him.

Falguni - Oh no you lot have been through a rough patch! Did you pass the gastro on to the family or was it the reverse lol. How is your pregnancy coming along?

Clare - Hope you can get some sleep tonight!

MD - Well done on your Dyson bargain!

Well DP and I are off to the Perth Cup (like a mini Melbourne cup and everyone glams up) on New Yrs day...it will be 39 degrees!!!! I just sorted out my outfit before so getting excited now. We did have a bit of a babysitter dillema there for a bit, but the in laws have offered to take M. Only thing is, they are coming up on New Yrs Eve, so we are stuck with them that night & they will take M back down to their place (about 120 kms from ours) on New Yrs day as they are having a small party with friends, & she will then stay the night. SO I am looking forward to a full nights sleep but very nervous about her 1st sleep over with the in laws.

Well no sign of pox here!! She did break out in an allover rash for a day, so maybe she had roseola. Anyway, all is good now. She's having a sleep and I'm going to have to go and wake her up soon as we were supposed to be meeting friends 30 mins ago. They knew I'd be late, but I don't want to be too late - haven't seen a couple of them for more than 2 years!!

Rainy - poor DH. Good on him for sorting out the MIL situation though.

MM - have fun at the races.

Leanne - I'm sure the plane trip will go fine, Be Prepared!!

Ange - glad you're starting to feel better, sucks being sick at Christmas doesn't it?

Have a great New Years everyone - what are you all up to? We are having a family bbq at my sisters, then will be home for my normal 9:30pm bedtime. I've never really got the point of New Years......

    good morning girls

cally- family bbq sounds like a lovely way to spend nye. i have no idea what we're doing- prolly just staying in for pizza or something? we need to save all our money now with these new circumstances ggggrrrr
good news on the no pox

hayley- if the pil barge in on the birth, i will be calling hospital security to get them escorted out! no joke...i actually feel a lot more relaxed about this up-coming birth knowing that i don't have them breathing down my neck iykwim? last time i felt like they were just waiting to pounce. hopefully this means i don't have to get induced this time
yes it is a real let-down to have such an awful relationship with mil. i really hate it. i'm thinking i might work on developing a rel/ship with dh's aunty though (on his dad's side) as she has been absolutely lovely to us and even bought us a $500 cutlery set as a wedding gift, and wrote a card telling me how proud dh was when he told her we were married. made me cry!
the races sounds lovely but very hot! what are you wearing? how do you think maddie will go with the sleepover?

ange- i went to indulge a few weeks ago for a pedi what are you going to have? i might have to take you up on the offer of joining you, if i can palm off L and sneak some money from dh
i'd kill for a facial and pg massage.

clare- yes i think alcohol has a lot to answer for, especially where my dh is concerned. i'm proud he stood up to his mil though and told her to keep away from me.
sorry you're not pg this time.
how is the house hunting going? any luck?

md- well i tried to give him a big hug but he's all battered and bruised and smelled so badly of alcohol that it made me sick!
    how's the dyson going?

sherie- thanks for your support i know i shouldn't think about what could've happened, i'm just so angry with him for getting involved in a totally avoidable and unecessary situation. we just don't need this sort of stuff in our lives. it's so immature and just plain stupid!
i wondered what had happened to those twin boys- onthe news they really didn't explain much about it, i wasn't sure if they'd been poisened on purpose or what. how horrible!

not much going on around here, just watching cricket and trying to come to terms with everything!

MM- They were sharing the love this time. I think Dad got it off a client then shared it around. It's great to share but not your germs! lol. This time round it was not the vomitting, more the other end that was the issue, the ring burner bug we called it. lmao.

G- i got a voucher for the mum to be package, can't remember what it includes, preg massage, facial, pedi and fruit platter or something?! I'm not fussed about the massage (just got 2 off dad in two days, nice.) So was thinking facial, pedi and manicure, just so i'm looking super special! lol I'd love you to come along. Not sure when but we better not leave it too long. Heading down Geelong way for NYE will give you a buzz when we get back.

Cally- i think NYE is totally overrated too. We were doing nothing until friends with a bub similar age phoned up and invited us over for a bbq, i'll be lucky to make midnight though!

Came home with a car full of goodies, a new phone and aswering machine, TV set top box, back up hard drive, bbq, new bed for Lu with trundle plus two matresses, a pram and car seat on lay-by, as well as chrissy presents!!! Went nuts, I have been waiting for the sales to get it all and got some great deals so pretty happy about that.

As i said, heading down the coast for NYE. DH going water skiing and surfing with mates while i hang out on the banks/beach like a beached whale with the other preggo wife. It's days like that i hate being preggers!

Got to unpack from chrissy and repack to leave tomorrow.
