It's just the D!ckinson's brand witchhazel, I use it like a toner after cleansing and before moisturising. It's cheap as chips, I usually get it at Woollies or Priceline (haha MD's budget beauty tips).
hi Md - witchhazel hey? please tell me more. I'm on the estelle brand pill which is supposed to be good for the skin, but this time around it's not working. Jessica had to draw a family picture last year, and my face was covered in little spots - so embarrassing.
we'll probably give some cash as well. It would be great if they set up an 'adopt a family' style situation, but i guess there are just so many families that have been affected. I'd really like to help everyone if i could - but unfortunately i don't have loads of cash to hand out.![]()

The fires aren't near us MD, it's just all blown up from the Vic fires. There are a few around Tumut (east of Wagga), but I think they are all contained. LOL at Mr MD being able to donate by the bucket load - when I had a blood test the other day to check my hormones and all that, she took 7 vials!!
Jaz, Don't you just love when they include EVERYTHING in their pictures? My skin is bloody terrible ATM and I'm sure it's cause of the mirena cause I never get pimples.
Jazmum ... Thanks. Can try him in the toddler bed as I still have my other sons set up (as a spare for him). Just need one of those anti roll out things. My eldest was 18 months when he started climbing out so Jack is doing pretty well.
Fal, don't know what else to say

I haven't been keeping up with the fires cause knowing my emotions, I would sit here & cry. To all the ladies who are out there in them, have been in them or has people in them, my heart goes out to you.
Was watching jack climb the stock gate this evening thinking of the comments bout him being a monkey. He had his feet two rows from the top whilst swinging holding on to the top rung.
He's cracking me up at the moment, he's trying to feed the dog the food he knocked on the ground from his dinner.
The boys daycare changed about last week. They have gone from two careers to one & instead of Tuesdays, they go Fridays (and keep Monday & Thursday's). Was a shock to their system as I believe they knew something was up not going to the other mum's place at all.
Jack has had a nasty nappy rash that is under his doodle where it sits on his "nuts" (didn't know which word to use). The GP gave me a steriodal cream & told me to toilet train him. Will be interesting. Just starting slowly for now, & as he loves Alex's bob tools, they tool box is sitting beside the potty as encouragment.
oops .. .they've escaped out the back door ... bbl ...
Hi girls,
Sherie: i so hear ya on the cool weather. it is so bizarre! i had goosebumps today! and it's going to be 13 tonight!!!
i don't think i have good blood. last blood test showed crazy small red blood cells. i'll check it out and see if they still want me though.
MD: wow. no chocolate for 2 months...phew that's tough. can you like totally chow down after the op? or is there some kind of waiting period??
Andie: yeah miss L has a nappy rash atm too. the poor thing can't even sit today. i'll take her to the gp tomorrow to get it checked out.
JazMum: i too can vouch for witchhazel. i used it alot when i was a teen and still have a bottle in the bathroom JIC. i use it as a toner and it seems to do the trick.
AFM: well it appears that what was bothering Leila was a nappy rash dying to get out! LOL! it is BAD. i will take her to the GP tomorrow and get it checked, poor thing cant even sit atm.
have just given the rspca my details to assist them for the vic fire appeal. i can do some transport and stuff so we'll see if they need us.
Clare: When Alex had a bad one I was told to toilet train, now I've been told to toilet train Jack. Hope L's clear up. What creams have you tried? Have you tried keeping her out of disposable nappies?
That's the million dollar question Clare. I've been gazing in the Haigh's window at all the nice Valentines Day boxes and hmmm, it is Valentines Day the next day, isn't it?MD: wow. no chocolate for 2 months...phew that's tough. can you like totally chow down after the op? or is there some kind of waiting period??
Andie & Clare, my fallback for nappy rashes is to apply both canesten AND sigmacort creams, together. Of course if the Dr has given you something else, go with that.
howdy
Clare we use Brauers on L's nappy rash, he gets it really bad when he is teething and its the best thing we found so far.
MD I cant believe you havent had chocolate for 2 months, I think I must be making up for your share lol.
Gosh I cant remember anything else, how bad is that. Might check back in after some ice cream.
Might have to track down some witch hazel. I'm lucky, they're not on my face, but all over my chest. Those big ones that hurt, you can never get any satisfaction from squeezing (but I keep trying) and they hang around for about 3 weeks!! I always used to draw my freckles on my face when I was a kid doing a self portrait - that was never a good look!!
Clare - poor L on the nappy rash
Andie - good luck with the toilet training
MD - fingers crossed you can get back on the chocs (in moderation of course) fairly soon.
hi girls!
Oz: nice av babe!!
MD: oh i do like the sound of the cream combo for the nappy rash.
Andie: atm i am using amolin. i also have a hippy herbal one that i use and when the going gets real tough i use pawpaw cream. today her rash seems a lot better. i did an amolin/talc combo last night (like used almost the whole tube LOL!).
i so dont think we are ready for toilet training yet...
all good here. leila is refusing to be conquered for her nap, but her eyes are rolling around the back of her head so i will persist for another 20 minutes. i so do not like hanging out with a grumpy toddler. no fun!
hope everyone is AOK!
LOL sorry Jazmum I had to have a laugh at J drawing a pic of you covered in spots! Kids are just so innocently truthful iykwim!
I hope Falguni is going ok considering the circumstances. Such bad timing for her family with a baby due very soon.
Gosh cant believe these fires in Victoria, its devastating watching it all on the news. People have lost so much. I just cant comprehend it all, the fire must just have flown along at a high speed. It couldnt have come at a worse time as well with the whole financial crisis.
I will be shopping at Coles on Friday, as they are donating their takings for that day to the fire appeal.
Wish Rainy would check in as well.
Trill - How close are you to it all? Are you on alert or are you pretty safe where you are?
Ohh Oz love the av
Clare - Ouch poor L sounds horrible. Hope you can control it as soon as possible.
MD - Ohhh I so wouldnt last on no choccy for two months, feeling for you!
Andie - SOunds like those boys of yours are keeping you on your toes hehe
Did a pregnancy test today. Was negative, so bit dissapointed I guess but also relieved in a way because I dont want to go o/seas during early pregnancy. I have been feeling nauseous all week for some reason.
MM maybe your just anxious about the wedding? Bummer your not pg lol.
Clare L has been a cheeky monkey when it comes to sleep time this week, I think his bottom eye tooth is coming.
Cally ouch at the chest pimples. I have seen witch hazel at the chemist.
Rainy where are you????
Havent done much today. DH lost his phone on the weekend so we bought a new phone and sim and have spent the night arguing with Optus as they burnt out the sim...anyway I shall deal with that tomorrow. I am addicted to icy poles at the moment, I seriously cant get enough.
OMG Clare I hope that's corn starch talc not talc talc. Talc talc has been indicated as a carcinogen. Use cornstarch instead.
Cally IKWYM about those big body pimples that hurt. There's no joy with them. In the past I've put witchhazel into a spray bottle and just squirted it on (good for a sunburnt back too).
Katie, thanks so much for keeping up with my share of chocolate all this time. I know it was hard work for you and all....hehe.
Rainy, how you going hun? Nesting yet?
Andie, how's the bedding arrangement going with Jack? In his big boy bed yet?
Is anyone else having Teletubbiemania at their house? OMG E is hilarious when it comes on the telly, she squeals and points and dances and just LOVES them. Gotta get it on video one day (if I can find the camera lol).
Ergh I've reached that point where I'm desperate for a haircut but I don't know a good stylist to go to here. Actually there's one I know of over the other side of town but it sounds like he's a bit of a prima donna and I'm not sure if i want to put up with the dramatics just to look good, kwim? In the meantime I'll just cultivate my yeti-woman look. In preparation for winter.
MM - hmmm, mystery nausea sounds promising....test again in a few days?
ETA - Katie, I'm totally addicted to iceypoles too. I had one today and it's only 18 degrees here LOL.
Hi Girls,
MM- Hope you are feeling better.
MD- Did you say you are going to have surgery this week... What is wrong I hope you are ok. How are your girls going?
Clare- Hope the nappy rash is ok
Andie- I have been putting Liv on the toilet hoping I can toilet train her quicker than I did with the boys.
Rainy- Hope you are ok
Ange - Hope you too are ok.
We are all ok. The colds are going away finally. Work is ok but wish I didnt have to go. Livi is talking more and loves running around with the boys. I have dropped her lunch bottle so she is on 2 a day now. She loves to drink out of a cup.
Better go Love to all.
MD yes we have Teletubbiemania here too, L sits back on his couch and just loves it.
Leanne glad the cold is going away.
MD - Thats my plan, i'm not sure if I am just nervous about the wedding as Oz suggested.
Leemar - Glad the colds are clearing up. Wish I didnt have to work either lol
Anyone watching find my family, bawling their eyes out? Jazmum? lol
MM - fingies and toesies crossed you get the result you want! ETA - nope didn't watch find my family tonight. Have had enough of bawling my eyes out in front of the telly this week already.
Leanne - ah who would want to go back to work after a dream holiday in the US? LOL Let us know how the TT goes. I was just saying to DH yesterday, I reckon we could TT Missy E earlier than DD1, she seems to have a lot more general body-awareness than DD1 did (not as clumsy for starters)LOL.
BTW - yes surgery on Friday (the 13TH!!!) for me...to get my gall bladder removed. Lucky for you, you've been away and haven't had to listen to me bleating on like a Nanna about me bleedin gallstones.
Katie - LOL at L just sitting back on his couch! We can have TTubbies any time of the day cos DH brought millions of DVDs home from o/s. But some of them have nasssteh American voice-overs. LOL
Yep, we've got Teletubbies mania here too, only it's not so much of a mania, just a totally captivated silence ROFL. Luckily we have a video that was a handmedown from when my youngest brother was this age when they first came on the scene.
We're not anywhere near the fires and our area was on high alert (bland shire) but it's passed now with the cooler weather. We actually do have a decommissioned fire truck up in our shed that we brought from the RFS for $200 - so if anything did start up, I would be able to use it to protect the house or put out a spot fire if DH wasn't here kwim? But everything out here is bare as a board, so there is not a chance that a fire would ever get close to the house. We do have a scrubby hill, but we are still reasonably safe. If you get on google earth and put in 2267 beckom road, tallimba, nsw you will be able to see our place.
H, maybe it is just nerves? I hope its not a tummy thing
Hi Leanne! Glad to hear the colds are abating. Alister is down to 2 bottles a day too now and the rest of the time it's water in his drink bottle.
Clare, how is the nappy rash going?
Ozstar, I haven't had an icy pole in years!
Not much happening here, but I have two days out tomorrow and Friday. Thankfully it is still cool - almost cold! Its such a contrast to this time last week. The kids even went to school wearing jumpers yesterday and today. I'm hoping that when it warms up again come the weekend that it's still nowhere near as hot as it was.
