well it has just hit 44 here and the 50-60km/hr winds are driving us all bonkers and now we have smoke curling through the sky from the bunyip fires (i think it must be from those ones...). we had a fire down the street today and the firies were here in record time. good on 'em! we live in a big massive parkland area so i guess they felt the need.
MD: ditch the water restrictions sista! our gov has told us to do whatever is necessary! shell pool is ready...
i'll do a rain dance with ya. man, i think i forgot what rain looks and smells like.
we too are waiting on the mythical cool change tonight.
MM: no we are not braving any beach style baths today. we are off to our local pool (called the brunswick baths...had some notoriety in the early 90s in a film called 'a death in brunswick'). they are old school 20s style.
woot woo on the bargain btw! i do like wayne cooper. i think it is the only thing paris hilton and i have in common.
hhmmm, forgot the rest of the thread. i hope rainy is ok. must be scary up there atm.
Clare you poor thing, hope the shop guy has got the slurpee machine going!! lol
Girls bit of a selfish post.
DP & I have been looking at hotels etc for our honeymoon, there is so much to do in Langkawi that we cant do due to having M with us. Snorkelling, water sports, night clubbing etc. I know his parents are dead keen to take M, I know she will be well looked after, its just the fact that we will be away from her for 10 days. I spoke to my parents, they wont be around so they cant take M which is ok. They said to go for it & take the in laws offer. What would you do!? I am also worried about what other people will think of me, ie she's a bad mum for leaving her 16 month old behind. Then I also worry that at 16 months, will M stress for us while we are away? Will she be confused & wonder what has gone on? Such a hard one.
I hope Rainy and Ange are doing ok in this heat and that there is no fires near Rainy. She is at her dads this weekend isn't she as DH is on a bucks weekend?
Clare I hope your managing to keep cool. I am usually a summer person but cant wait for winter this year.
MM I would be very tempted to leave her but totally understand why your unsure. It is definitely something to think about and discuss with DP (soon to be DH).
Hot one here to today but not like you guys down south are getting. Might have to get out the paddling pool I think. I hope everyone is managing to stay cool.
Yep DP thinks we should leave her, obviously its a hard decision for him to that he has put a lot of thought into. I would just hate for her to think she has been left behind by her parents. One thing good about her staying with the in laws over my parents, she knows them better as mine have been away for 6 months. Its just you all know what my in laws are like with the food...ahh!
Well I hope Rainy is off the hill & with her dad. Wouldnt want for her to be alone in this weather in case of fire. Feeling for Ange with the heat too!
If you leave her then it means you don't have to worry about her on the plane. Can you take over meals for her so they dont give her to much rubbish? If you leave her I don't think she will hold it against you when she is older lol.
