Hi girls!
MD: no we have the cornstarch talc stuff. no carcinogens here! which is good as miss L has a penchant for eating the stuff.
MM: yeah it could be nerves....but with you two so clucky lately...wellllll...LOL! :D
Leanne: glad that the cold seems to be exiting the building. i reckon it is soo hard after a nice holiday to go back to work. that's why i start planning the next! that way i rationalise to myself that i am at work for a FUN reason LOL! I am a big wuss though.
we dont have the teletubbiemania here...DD seems to find 'in the night garden' quaint at best. i have tried to employ that babysitter a couple of times, but alas it just aint catching. persistence persistence LOL! this is sooo gonna bite me in the bum!
Sherie: yeah this cool weather is just bonkers! we are wearing jumpers too! Although being from nth qld, i am not exactly stoic when it comes to the cold.
AFM: well the rash appears to be in submission. now i just have the aloevera and chamomile on it (the hippy stuff LOL!). And we are back to cloth YAY!
not much else to report...all good here.

Was just looking at Anges photos on FB, its so scary to see how close they came to loosing everything.
I am going to try and get stuck into cleaning today, this house looks like a bomb site.

just checking in girls
sorry i've been so slack. i've been completely overwhemed by everything that's going on, i would say i've been close to depressed tbh..it very nearly could've been us.
had a ve on monday and things don't look too good. baby's head is very high and cervix is unfavourable. this is making me really upset too.
had a massive fight with dh on monday. he had been away all weekend. two of his mates drove home at 8pm on sat night as their wives were stressing and upset about fires. i told him to stay as i didn't want to stress him out/ruin his weekend/put him in any type of danger. he doesn't seem to appreciate this at all iykwim?
i asked him if he would come with me to my ob appointment (first one he's come to for the whole pg) s it's becoming increasingly difficult to look after lewis/pick him up etc. he agreed to come, but then his phone rang while we were in the waiting room so he went outside and took the call- leaving lewis running down the hall into the physio room, picking up phones, climbing on beds etc. with me running after him, trying to grab him, him hiding from me...absolute nigtmare...i had to go out and get dh and yell at him as ob was calling me and, i think, starting to get peeved...and dh is just out the front chatting away on the phone to his brother who he'd just spent all weekend with. he's so incredibly selfish and thoughtless, so we're still kind of fighting about it. i've asked him several times to help me clean house/wash sheets/prepare for baby/pack hospital bag and he does nothing....sorry for vent, i'm just really down and out atm
oh and lewis is teething so badly, really clingy and upset and not sleeping....
-
 G. Don't worry about the ob appt - second babies often don't engage at all until labour starts and the state of your cervix means nothing at 38wks - it could be completely different next week. I just looked on my yellow cards and with Erin my cx was closed and high too and she was only 1 day late. As for J, tell him he needs to pull his head out of his bum and have a bit of a reality check.
Clare, glad to hear that its getting better.
-
Rainy:  to you sweetie. i have to agree with Sherie on this one. at 38 weeks the ve *may* show some softening and full engaging but more likely it wont show too much at all. i'm sorryt that it's adding to what is already a stressful time. i have to agree that i too would be peeved at DH under similar circumstances. sometimes they just dont see the forest for the trees, especially when it comes to all things birth and baby. i hear ya on that one loud and clear. xx
Oz: when you're done, pop down here will ya'?? LOL! ours is more like a cyclone....cyclone leila that is.
Sherie: forgot to mention that that is sooo cool that you have an ex-fire truck. and what a bargain!! LOL!
-
Trill - that google earth shot certainly looks like there is nothing to burn near your place, so brown. And I am certainly impressed with the fire truck!!
Rainy - big hugs. I agree with Trill, tell him to wake up to himself, you are going to need a lot of help in the next few weeks, Lewis is not going to be suddenly able to look after himself and he's not going to understand that mummy can't be there all the time - daddy needs to step up.
Clare - glad the rash is clearing up.
-
thanks girls, i think i've just been getting excited as i seem to have a lot more pain and pressure this time than i did with lewis so i'm really hoping i don't go overdue. i felt like his head was down low, so it's very disappointing.
yes dh does need to pull his head out. he actually cooked dinner last night and then had a shower with lewis, but i'm still peed off at him. he reckons he's going to take tomorrow off work....hmmmm we'll see.....
sorry i've been very selfish venting, i'm in that horrible part of the pg where you start doing your head in a bit.
so what's everyone's plans for valentines day?
seeing as it seems i'm actually married to a caveman, it doesn't look like i'll be doing much! LOL
-
Rainy - I agree still plenty of time, try not to worry about it, things will work out perfectly in the end I'm sure of it. As for the fires, could have been you but it wasnt, you are one of the lucky ones, I can understand how you feel though. Give yourself a break from it today, no looking on news.com or watching tv. As for the hubby, I would have been soooo angry as well, he needs to get his act together!
Trillian - WOW I cant believe how long your driveway is!! Where are the shops!? Where is the beach!? LOL! What is that huge dark part, is it a very big dam or is that the house? So fascinating, its very sparse like you said. I always thought you were in Vic. How far from Sydney are you?
No teletubbies mania here, but Hi 5 mania!! Even if I just say Hi 5 to Maddie she bolts to the tv. They call her dancing queen at daycare because she just lets rip every 5 minutes, even in shops she has a boogie. Yesterday when I collected her at daycare she was dancing to Britney lol.
Oz - Ohh poor Ange I will have a look at her pics.
As for the pregnancy test, wont bother testing again as I have no nausea at all today. Weird!
-
Rainy - We were planning to go out for lunch for valentines day, but on tv this morning they suggest that what you are planning to spend on Valentines day to donate to the fire appeal. So we will be doing that this year, besides we are having our romantic day in a few weeks hehe.
Girls I am going shopping at Coles this Friday as they are donating their takings to the fire appeal, I figure its a good time to buy plastics and soft drink, nibblies etc for the wedding. Feel so helpless watching it all on tv so this is one way I feel like we can help.
-
Not doing much for Valentines Day. DH still has cricket (for another whole month!!) and after that we are going to my boss's house for a ****tail party. DD is going to MIL for the evening, I think she was hoping to have her for the whole night, but we drive straight past there on the way home and I'd rather not have to go back into town to get her the next day. Although both of us having a sleep in would be nice.
Ange - your pictures are very impressive
MM - good on you for planning your shopping for Coles on Friday. Our nearest is in the next town so a bit far away. Woollies is having their farmer appeal shopping day the following Friday (20th).
-
that's a fantastic idea hayley, giving the valentines money to the fund and shopping at coles for wedding stuff. i love it!
we're still deciding what to do- i thought about offering up my house to look after some lost/sick dogs but it's not really appropriate if i have to go to hospital....so now i'm either going to buy some supplies at coles on fri and drop them at one of the refuge centres or just make a cash donation to red cross.
we don't have google earth so i can't check out your place sherie. was going to ask you, seeing as 'farmer wants a wife' starts again tonight, did the farmer that you know end up staying with that erin girl?
cally- whose going to be drinking ****tails? you or dh?
i'm getting my cervix checked on monday- send me some favourable cervix vibes
-
Rainy: sending you loads of ripening cervix vibes. are you going to do any induction acupuncture sessions??
i just read that the BB centre is accepting donations of goods tomorrow from 9am to 5pm...so maybe that could be a way to help...although probably a bit too far for you...as you can see i have an A+ in geography ;).
also my uni is providing free veterinary care for all dogs cats and horses affected by the fires, so if you know anyone with fire injured animals send em that way!
Cally: i dont know what a sleep in is anymore!
dont know what is happening this valentines. DH told me has planned something but this does not mean that he has booked anything. BIG difference. so many times his 'plans' have fallen through cause we are booked out. oh well, will try to remain positive. :D
-
Rainy - I'm sending favourable cervix vibes your way lol. You will be right. As for helping out, dont commit yourself to too much you have enough to think about atm. I like your idea of donating money/coles shopping, on the news this morning they said atm the best thing people can do is donate money.
Did anyone see on the news that arsonists lit a few more fires last night? What goes through their head seriously!? Can they not see how much devastation they have caused already? Sounds cruel but I only hope that karma gets a hold of them, & they get stuck in the fires that they have lit themselves.
-
Cally: thanks. So far today I've been pee'd on twice & the amount of blankets & pillows that have gone to the wash & the number of the times the carpet has been scrubbed, I wonder.
Clare: a peditirican recently told me good ol' vasoline or cornstarch & castor oil. Good luck with it, I hope it clears up soon for L.
Hayley: I got that message about Coles however unfort, I don't like thier nappies & Jack still needs some for sleeps / nites & upset tummy times.
MD: I have decided to dismantle J's cot & put it away & move Alex's old toddler bed into J's room & give him a go in that. He put himself into his cot last nite & didn't try & get up. Can only try & hope for the best :)
No tellytubbies here unless they put it on Austar.
I missed the notice of app't for your gallstones. I am glad you are getting your gall bladder out. You will feel so relieved afterwards. Hope you have a good recovery.
Leanne: What techniques are you using for Liv? I have the potty in the lounge room & encourage Alex to use it so Jack watches him. A friend suggested something simple like Jelly Beans (cos they are a very rare treat). Sorry to hear about the colds.
Rainy:   I understand why you yelled & I believe you had every right to :) ... as for Feb 14, if the weather permits, swimming lessons, or if the lessons are cancelled, a pool play. No plans here.
this morning, the boys got out their sofa lounges, unfolded one .. put a plastic table behind the top end, a plastic chair at the other & spent hours jumping from either onto the lounge, giggling & carrying on. They had fun so I didn't really worry bout the climbing as I was just happy they were playing so well together.
-
This year, for Valentine's Day I'm getting MORPHINE! :p LOL Well maybe not and hopefully all will go well and I'll be home in time to watch some smoochy movies on the couch with DH. Seriously, though. If that man does not organise a box of Haighs - and I want the fancy expensive ones - even if I can't eat them on Sat - someone will get hurt.
Rainy I love your idea of shopping at coles and then donating the goods - that's an awesome double-donate! I'm thinking of having a Tupperware party, my friend has an awesome T-lady who is donating 20% of party takings, etc plus value of hostess gifts which in my mind is much better than getting some free salad do-dah that I'll never use. Plus we're making a red cross donation. DD1's school is having a goods-drive via St Vinnies, but I dunno - will they really pay to transport blankets and stuff from here to there? Not sure if that sounds quite right.
Andie What no tellytubbies?? They have it on every morning on ABC kids!!! I thought all of Aus got ABC kids!
Cally I meant to say you bear up very well being such a hard-core cricket widow! All right I guess when schools not in but i bet it eats into your weekends when DH is back at work.
Clare, DD1 used to be take-it-or-leave it re the telly. Wish I could say the same now! LOL
Trill I can only imagine the fun you and DH have had with your fire truck ;).
MM LOL at your boogie girl! Tho I must confess if I thought the day care was playing Britney I'd seriously consider swapping centres. LOL
-
md- you poor love, will you only be in the hospy for one night? how bad is the recovery-days, weeks??
clare- bb centre is a bit too far for me atm. dh doesn't want me driving at all, if you saw how huge i am you would understand why. there is an acupunturist just down the road from me, but i need someone to look after lewis, which is a bit of a problem atm. it's actually looking like we may need to evacuate here on saturday, so that rules that day out!
mm- not only are they re-lighting fires, but people are also looting the remaining houses and sheds...wtf????
andie- i love hearing about the boys playing together- gives me hope that my boys will entertain each other one day!
-
Rainy, just rest up best you can and bubba will come in good time. xxx Oh I so wish I lived a bit closer, your DH needs to learn a thing or two from mine . Plus I'd happily come over and chuck a couple of loads of washing thru for you, make you a cuppa tea, give you a foot rub. :)
Prolly overnight at hospy for me, unless they have to open me right up, which then becomes a 5 day stay. Hoping I have a helpful anatomy. They say 4-6 weeks recovery, how the dang I'm not going to lift Miss E in that time I don't know. Might have to do a few things like put a footstool under the high chair so she can climb up herself, etc.
-
MD - I know for a minute there I thought twice about the Britney music at daycare, but lucky for daycare I am a MAJOR Britney fan lol. When I was preggers, I was so bored at home & absolutely killed my britney spears live in las vegas dvd every day & not suprisingly as a newborn Maddie would respond to it if I put it on, even now if I put a britney cd on she comes running & busts a move. SO its no suprise that she was grooving away to britney at daycare lol. DP just shakes his head. I will be thinking of you having your op, its Friday though isnt it? Good luck, I hope you get your haighs.
Rainy - Its terrible, it makes you wonder whats gone on in their lives to make them want to cause such devastation. I cant get my head around it. Why are you evacuating on Sat? Is your area on high alert? Make sure you put whatever you need in your car if so, then in case you need to get out fast all you need to do is grab L & pets. Gosh I'm so worried about you, especially being heavily pregnant. As for Ange, I cant believe she is going through this now, couldnt have picked a worse time.
Andie - You sound like such a cool mum, letting the kids dismantle the house to have fun. Sometimes I really have to stop myself from picking up all day after M, she's having fun after all & I know I should encourage it, just such a clean freak!! Your boys must be getting so confident with water now. I noticed here that a surf life saving club does beach & water awareness classes for kids from the age of 2, so going to put M in that when she hits 2, is there anything like that where you are? Thought it was a brilliant idea & it only cost $60 as well running for 6 weeks, so $10 a class I guess.
