Oh my goodness where is Rainy!? OOOOH!! ???? Maybe the acupuncture really did the trick this time.....!?
Oz - Thats good that the doc isnt worried. I had spotting too with M. Good luck!
PAP - Oh how yum that pasta bake sounds delish, I am so making it this Wednesday when I am not working. I'll let you know how it turns out. You poor thing I hope this week isnt as bad for you as you have predicted.
Arte - Haha good idea. No he hasnt authorised paypal yet, they arent open today so couldnt talk to them. To top it off DP is leaving for Sydney tomorrow, then on to Melb & then Adelaide so he has a very busy couple of days ahead of him I dont know if he will even get a spare min to call the idiots. However 7 of our 11 'purchases' have been refunded so they are getting there, still waiting on about $3,500 to come back. I swear they just take their time as our money is sitting in their bank making them interest while we lose it. Dont worry I will try get onto it as much as I can tomorrow. We are still all having a giggle at W's bum cream, DP thought it was funny as well. The things kids say!
Clare - $300 vet bill that sucks! They are so expensive.
Trill - Sounds like the kids party was a hit!
Girls just had the MIL here, she went around putting fertiliser into the pot plants & I didnt know. M has a bad habit of eating the dirt out of the pots, yes yuck I know. Anyway caught her eating it & DP & I freaked out as she had a mouth full of fricking fertiliser! So have been dosing her up on water & keeping an eye on her. MIL says dont worry its just like she's having an extra dose of veges, ummmmm ok!? Sorry but I dont fertilise my DD!? So have called the after hrs health line & they said just to keep an eye on her, because I dont think she got too much in or if she even swallowed it as we fished alot out.
-
Hi everyone. Gee I always forget about these threads lol.
Rainforest, DD is the same way too, it's because they're virgos! She's forever running into the bathroom and pulling out the mop and mopping the house hehe. She wipes down the table if she sees a cloth there too!
Madsmum, that's just ridiculous! I can't believe she didn't even tell you :o I'd be furious if I were you
So I got DD of the dummy today with no complaints, hopfully it'll stay that way! Mind you she only went to bed an hour ago so perhaps she was so tired she just passed out lol! Cheeky thing kept perking up as soon as I tried to put her to sleep!
-
OMG Neenee that is too weird. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about your name (??) and then I get up and here you are in our thread (*blink blink*). Welcome to our little thread family, apologies in advance because we all talk a lot!!
Well done getting your DD off the dummy - not game to try here just yet. DD1 was very attached to her Noonny, I think it will be easier for DD2 to give hers away.
-
still here girls
going off to ob now...i think i have bl00dy thrush. can you believe it? i feel like crying.
pap- no didn't bother with carrycot. i think it's a waste of money, just wrap them up nice and cosy- if you get the elite, the seat cover is very nice and cosy anyway.
btw, i got mine on special at baby bunting- i think i ended up paying $1060 for the elite.
-
bummer to see you here Rainy!!! LOL! i hope you dont have thrush... yuk and the last thing you want to deal with atm. thanks for the tip re the cot thing, will reconsider - i do have one on the bugaboo which i loved with N.
well we had another shocker here last night, nearly 3 hrs again - not easy on my own!!! i tried every trick, rocking, singing, bottle, brauers for teething - in the end i was sure it was his teeth as he was trying to sleep but couldnt so i gave him some panadol. he eventually went back to sleep... woke up again at 6.30 (late for himbut still....) and then at 8 i put him back down, so now he is asleep and i am meant to have dropped hm to care an hour ago... oh well i am powering through some work while i wait for himt ow ait and i have to take him to a back up carer today so i prefer he has a good sleep here this morning... i hope tonight is a bit better. katie how was L last night? do you have the mattress out bc you will move him toa bed soon?
-
Hi ladies, you guys really rocks, chatty as ever! I havent been here for ages and then I received a lovely birthday email from Belly2 and just cant stop thinking of you guys :)
Thought I drop by and say hello ?
How are all the babies (or toddlers I may say)? They grow so fast, dont they ...
I think this is the fun age. William talks and runs a lot. He also loves dancing and drawing (my poor fridge and table are full with crayon scribbles). He understands a lot too, sometimes that scares me :p we need to be careful with our words now :p
We went to jakarta and bali during xmas to see our parents. We havent been back for several years so really had a fabulous time. And though I love the fact that W was spoilt by the grandparents when we're there, I think he might grow to be a little brat if the grandparents are here all the time :p
Just realised that some of the ladies here are expecting no 2, I have no idea who's first on the list but just want to wish you all the best. Is it Rainforest ??? Good luck with the labour. And pregagainpan, I soon noticed that from the name :)
Have a nice week everyone! Will try to come back again
-
Agnes good to see you. It really is a great age isn't it.
PP L actually slept through and a whole 12 hours rather then 10-11, lets hope we have turned a corner and that N isnt far behind. L's eye tooth is right at the top this morning and should break through anyday. Yep we are going to move L into a big bed.
Rainy bummer about the thrush, I hope it clears up quickly.
Neenee well done on getting rid of the dummy, we are about to do the same.
MM I cant believe your MIL, how thoughtless is she? I hate people doing things around my house without asking, but something like that which could harm your child???? I would be livid. What did you DF say to her?
Just had a playdate here, was lots of fun but I am glad they are gone and I can put my PJ pants back on and bum around lol.
-
hiya girls!
just quickie from me as my mummy instincts tell my little treasure is about to wake from her slumber...
Rainy: ooh i hope it's not thrush! a tad uncomfy...
PP: ooh me too! i did like the bassinette on the bug. kinda old school funk! lol!
that does sound slightly sus about his night waking. i too woulda thought teeth. although ATM we have had very restless nights as leila has a sore throat. poor wee thing.
glad the water colour thingy was a hit! L just loves it soo much (pink of course!). ah yes, we have the budding 'gardner' here too. lots of soil moving from the pots to the sandpit or the concrete....
Alingra: welcome back! leila also gets spoiled from the grandparents o/s! i think i may need to pack a spare suitcase when we go over LOL!
Neenee: welcome into the fold!! LOL! like MD said we do chin-wag way too much! always love extra ppl!!!!!!
Sherie: ooh the pool party does sound dastardly! how many 'pro-wrestlers' needed first aid? LOL! ah boys. although the way miss l is lately i have a feeling i have my own 'pro-wrestler' on my hands!
Arte: i love the way you think sista! ACA is PERFECT for this kind of stuff! LOL!
AFM: well the dog (stella...you were close PP!!) is on the mend. it was scary touch and go there. my feeling is that big dogs fall hard and that is just what happened. think she dug up a bone and ate it with the soil all over it. we use our own compost and no doubt there was some lovely nasties on there ready to give her gastro. so she has been on zero food and just drinking electrolites....but now she can have this really bland and expensive  food from the vet for the next week.
miss L on the other hand has morphed her runny walrus into a cough. i think it may be a sore throat as she totally freaked out this morning around 4.30am. so she scored some extra cuddles and slept on my chest for the rest of the morning. and now she seems AOK. having a big snooze now, i guess to make up for lost time last night.
BBL i think i am missing dr phil LOL!!!!
-
hi girls
i'm back from ob. yes i do have thrush. can you believe the timing of it? just used some caneston so hopefully it clears up soon. dh took lewis and i to mcdonalds to make us feel better :)
lewis is sleeping really badly atm too, glad to hear it's not just me going through it! i'm assuming it's teeth, but i can't see anything coming through.
aglinra- good to see you back :)
pap- if you liked the carrycot, then i think you should get it. how much is it? are you going to get the elite? what colour??
katie- how are you feeling?
clare- is it smokey near you? my friend just rang me and said the warburton hwy is backed up for miles with cars and floats and trailers of people evacuating properties.
-
clare- do you pronounce leila as lay-la or lee-la?
-
I went up to Kinglake, and to check out where we'll be living on for the weekend Rainy and i had no mobile reception, i came rushing back to see if you had popped but no suck luck love. :( Keep your ears out to 774 today with the high winds and high temp ok?
So like i said, i checkout out the new pad. It is pretty flash, much flasher than our old place. It is a lot further out than we were though. I had a little breakdown, (ok, it was a pretty big breakdown :p) at the thought of cleaning a house that hadn't been lived in for 6 months at 38 weeks preg with a toddler. So DH is organising a cleaner this week while i am still at Mum's...... nice. Now i just have to deal with sorting out clothes/beds/kitchen/unpacking kind of stuff. That makes my head spin too, but we did organise a cot for Lu and a cradle yesterday, so at least we all have a bed to sleep in. ;) I guess the rest can wait. Oh and the great thing is the lady has couches, beds, fridge etc there, so don't have to worry about any of that.
Will have a read back and see how you are all doing. I should be sorting stuff out, but my feet are so swollen i can't be bothered! Man i sound like such a whinger.
-
Ange good to hear from you love. I hope you get settled in the new place quickly. How is Miss Lu doing?
Rainy I am feeling ok just very tired. Major bummer about the thrush what but a lovely DH treating you to maccas.
I cant believe I have been having nanna naps. I normally cant sleep during the day but for the last week I have been crashing when L does. Bring on the second trimester!
-
Hi girls!
rainy: no smoke. saw some high smoke this afternoon, but assumed it was from the backburning until i was told they are evacuating quite a number of towns. i heard that there is some action yarra glen way so i hope that it stays away from you guys. there are meant to be some yuk conditions over the next couple of days, so make sure you stay tuned to the radio...
leila is lay-la...i think layla is the american spelling...we went with the arabic translated spelling...ITMS!
Ange: oh unpacking and cleaning is the pits! good on DH for organising a cleaner. it must be doing your late-pregnancy-nesting-urge head in! and yeah, like you said, once the beds are sorted other things tend to fall into place. i always like to get our rooms done first, that way there is a break from the pandemonium IYKWIM.
AFM: well leila went to sleep at 10am this morning and at 2pm (yes, 2PM!) I had to go in and wake her up. poor thing, she really is not doing so well. she does seem a bit better after her nap though. so we'll see how it goes. today when she woke up she demanded to wear her tutu (yes her grandmother bought her a tutu...after years as a child of me begging my mum to buy me one without ANY luck, she gets one for my daughter before her 2nd birthday) and then proceeded to raid her jewellery box for necklaces and bracelets . we have a prima donna on our hands ppl!!
-
Ange, I want you to whinge all you want - it will do you no good at all to keep it all in hun. Great thinking of Glen to get a cleaner for you, regardless of you being pg, it would make the transition so much easier on you not having to do it yourself
G, that's awful bad luck! I hope the canesten works quick smart cause you really don't want that hanging about when bubs comes. Get yourself some probiotics too and eat jalna or yakult to your hearts content.
ANGES!!!!!! OMG it's great to see you pop in! So how's life been treating you? How is work? So much catching up to do. you can't go till you've filled us all in LOL.
MD :hun: the perfect job is out there for you somewhere my dear. Maybe this could be an opportunity to take advantage of the time off uni to do something else even?
PP, You poor love, you must feel really drained ATM. It's so hard when nothing you try works, or even works for long. The pasta bake sounds fab - I'll have to write that one out and try it here - Alister still prefers food with pasta in it  I've even gone for far as to buy gluten free pasta just so he's not overloaded with it kwim?
Gosh, I can't remember where else I'm up to. Busy busy day - in wagga like I said (appt went well - bloods still fine) came home and there was a blackout and we only just got power on at 6.15pm. Had a bit of a pre-stimulus money spendup and brought a maxi rider for A and some tops from Myer for me and a new clothes rack for DH's work shirts.
I will be back later tonight for more.....
-
rainy: i saw the wind change about 20 minutes ago and the sky has gone orangey again, so jumped online and saw that people are evacuating the dandy ranges. hope that you guys are keeping safe, and if you need a place to come, you can come here in safe ol' brunswick (well, if you dont count the underworld activities that happen, we are pretty safe! LOL!).
xxoxx
-
Ange - whinge away my dear cant even imagine all the emotions you are feeling and dealing w, we are here for you to vent!!!! good you have the cleaner - keep her number for those 1st few weeks as a fam of 4. how is it at your parents?
Rainy - hope you, Dh, L and your dad are ok.... gosh it is an awful season isnt it.
Agnes - so good to see you pop on... as sherie said FILL US IN! how are you my dear?
Sherie - sounds like a good day - gotta love the shopping. N also prefers things with pasta, he demands 'paddha' regularly. i try to mix it up with rice also and gnocci so he isnt getting too much - though i am pasta addict so i have myself to blame. i should try polenta too, i tried it ages ago and he didnt like it but should gove it another shot. he has had a good breaky the last few days finally - weetbix with milk and a drop or 2 of prune juice - he gets through a whole one which is good going for him in the morning... though his eating is really the last thing i should worry about!
It really is draining at the moment, and we have only had 2 nights from hell. i wonder what tonight will bring??? will head to bed early to arm myself for the 3 hr 11.30 rock session... and it is a bonus if it doesnt happen i guess!
rainy - think the basinnette thingy is about 230 - not too bad i guess if i get good use out of it. i will try to find a shop with it all in stock here so i can check it out.
ok off to heat some soup for dinner... weird with the heat we ared having but gotta get some vegies in between the naughty things i am eating atm.
ob appt tomorrow - excited!
-
Oh no whats this about a wind change near Rainy's place, hope she is ok!!
Ange - Oh you poor thing, no wonder you had a big break down. What a beautiful hubby to organise a cleaner for you, smart thinking. I'm glad you have a nice place to stay. I know its easy for me to say, but try to find some time to relax a bit before the new bubba comes along.
Clare - Oh no thats a long sleep, she doesnt sound well at all. :( I hear you on the prima donna!!
Oz - Sorry to hear you are so tired, I agree bring on that 2nd trimester!!!
Agnes welcome back!
PAP - Oh what a shocker of a night, how do you cope being pregnant & all? I guess us mothers are tough! hehe
MD - Nooo way I am the same as you, not game enough to get rid of the dummy. So well done to Neenee!
I was so worried last night after M's incident with the fertiliser. It got me thinking about whether we are doing the right thing leaving her with the in laws. I know they will care for her, but I just feel like no one cares for your child as much as you do iykwim. I couldnt get it off my mind so I sent MIL a big email just watching my words (after last time) & just telling her how I feel. Also asked if they have a cover for their spa, as I know what M is like with water. So far no reply....hmm. Am I being paranoid?
-
MM your not being paranoid your being a mummy. Your better off asking all the questions and having words with them now then worrying constantly when your meant to be enjoying your honeymoon.
Rainy hope all is ok up your way.
-
mm- no you're not being paranoid at all, i feel exactly the same way when i leave lewis with dh. he always seems to fall over or something. this morning dh was supposed to be minding him and he ran into my bedroom with a pair of tongs in his hand. needless to say, i got out of bed and looked after him.
i hope she takes it the right way. the fertiliser thing was really stupid. have you moved the plants?
clare-oooohh a trip to brunswick sounds so underbelly! lol, thanks for the offer. is the house that you looked at in brunswick?
i always pronounce it lay-la too, but in another thread someone said it should be lee-la so then i thought i'd been saying it wrong
pap- lewis went through a really bad sleeping stage when he first started walking- maybe that's what noah is doing? are you finding this pg way more brutal than the first? or is it just me that's had a shocking second pregnancy?
trill- how good is the maxi rider? lewis loves his cup holder, he thinks it's the best :)
well we're still at home, keeping an eye on the fire but it's heading the opposite direction to us. i'm waiting up for the late news to see what the go is, then heading to bed. in the morning dad is taking lewis and i to toys r us so that lewis can pick out a kitchen to have to play with at dad's house while i'm in hospital.
-
Rainy your dad sounds awesome.
-
